Autofagia zelula eukariotikoetan berez gertatzen den prozesu bat da, zeinak oreka homeostatikoa mantentzea ahalbidetzen duen (kaltetutako egitura zelularrak degradatuz eta energia-oreka mantenduz) zelula estres edo energia eskuragarritasun mugatuko egoeretan dagoenean. Autofagiari buruz hitz egitean, apoptositik bereiztea komeni da. Oro har, autofagia babes-mekanismotzat hartzen da, zelulek estres maila ez-hilgarrietara egokitzeko ematen duten erantzuntzat. Zelulak pairatzen duen estresak muga jakin bat gainditzen duenean, edo estres maila bat denboran mantentzen denean, apoptosia aktibatuko da, zelula deuseztatzeko. The research was conducted in 2020-2022 to find effective ways of controlling the volunteer plants of imidazolinone-resistant sunflower in oil flax sowings, providing high biological and economic efficiency, crop yield, and seed quality on leached chernozem in natural and climatic conditions of the Western Ciscaucasia. We studied methods of chemical protection of oil flax with tank mixtures of herbicide combinations: anticotyledonous contact herbicide Basagran, WS and systemic herbicide Cleo, WDG, Sekator Turbo, OD, and graminicide Zellek-super, EC. We used established methods for field agronomic experiments with oil crops. Seeds of imidazolinone-resistant sunflower hybrid were evenly sown on the experimental plot to simulate the volunteer plants. The phytotoxicity of herbicides on sunflower plants was evaluated using a 9-point EWRC scale. The tank mixtures Basagran,WS (4 l/ha) + Zellek-super, EC (1.0 l/ha) and Basagran, WS (4 l/ha) + Sekator Turbo, OD (0.1 l/ha) + Zellek-super, EC (1.0 l/ha) do not provide ef-fective control of the volunteer plants and are not recommended for use. The composition Basagran, WS (4 l/ha) + Cleo, WDG (0.12 kg/ha) + Zellek-super, EC (1.0 l/ha) provides destruction of the volunteer plants, contributing to higher yield and oil content of seeds, but it is very expensive and decreases the laboratory germinating ability of flax seeds, so it cannot be used in industrial seed production. A tank mixture of Cleo, WDG (0.12 kg/ha) + Sekator Turbo, OD (0.1 l/ha) + Zellek-super, EC (1.0 l/ha) has lower cost, provides high herbicidal effectiveness against the volunteer plants of imidazolinone-resistant sunflower, contributes to obtaining a high yield, oil content and laboratory germination of oil flax seeds and is recommended for use both in industrial seed production and in the production of commercial seeds.

This scientific article provides data on the effectiveness of successive application of herbicides against annual and perennial weeds in cotton fields on arable lands plowed with simple and two-sided plows. When the herbicide Samurai (1.5 l/ha) is applied separately, the annual weeds are effectively lost (86.8-90.2%), and have a weak effect on perennials. When Zellek Super (1.0 l/ha) herbicide is used separately, it has a weak effect on annuals (24.0-32.0%), effectively reducing weeds. Both perennial weeds (90.5-93.0%) and perennial weeds are effective when applied in series with Samurai (1.5 l/ha) and Zellek Super (1.0 l/ha) herbicides 88.9 -93.3% loss. Cotton yield will increase by 1.8-5.4 q/ha compared to the control option. Consecutive application of Samurai (1.5 l/ha) and Samurai (1.5 l/ha) and Zellek Super (1.0 l/ha) herbicides against annual and perennial weeds is recommended.

Abstract The last year has seen a revolt against the recommendations of the Zellick Report (1994) in England and Wales, and pressure on universities worldwide to bring serious criminal conduct within their own disciplinary structures. This paper examines the reasons why the Zellick Report advised against this, and why higher-education institutions have now turned their back on a number of its recommendations. Factors including student pressure and concerns about low conviction rates for sexual offences in the criminal courts have been cited, but this paper argues that universities will struggle to create a disciplinary system that is fair to both those who are accused of such offences and those who have been victims of them. A recent Universities UK report has reversed the Zellick guidance that conduct amounting to a serious criminal offence should never be pursued under university disciplinary structures. Drawing on both authors’ experiences as practitioners, and using the first author's experience of university disciplinary matters as a case-study, this paper reviews the practical problems of bringing such serious conduct under university disciplinary structures, focusing particularly on the intersection of criminal and internal disciplinary proceedings. It concludes by suggesting possible ways of ameliorating these.

This study collects data from the literature and updates our Zelus renardii Kolenati, 1856 (Leafhopper Assassin Bug, LAB) prey knowledge. The literature consists of ca. 170 entries encompassing the years 1856 to 2021. This reduviid originated in the Nearctic region, but has entered and acclimatised in many Mediterranean countries. Our quantitative predation experiments—in the laboratory on caged plants plus field or environmental observations—confirm that LAB prefers a selected array of prey. Laboratory predation tests on living targets (Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, and Hymenoptera) agree with the literature. Zelus renardii prefers comparatively large, highly mobile, and readily available prey. LAB preferences on available hemipterans targets suggest that Zelus renardii is a good inundative biocontrol agent for Xylella fastidiosapauca ST53 infections. LAB also prey on other important olive pests, such as Bactrocera oleae. Therefore, Zelus renardii is a major integrated pest management (IPM) component to limit Xylella fastidiosa pandemics and other pest invasions.

New occurrences of Reduviidae from Bolivia and Brazil are recorded for the first time. Morphological remarks on the female of Heza gilsantanai Bérenger (Harpactorinae) are given. The possible aposematicism between Notocyrtus colombianus Carvalho & Costa (Harpactorinae) and Ptilotrigona lurida (Smith) (Hymenoptera; Apidae; Apinae) is suggested. Based on biological observations, Zelus nigrispinus (Herrich-Schäffer, 1848) (Harpactorinae) is considered a junior synonym of Zelus versicolor (Herrich-Schäffer, 1848).

Durante el primer semestre del año 2007 se estudió la biología, alimentación y reproducción de Zelus renardii (Kolenati) (Hemíptera: Heteróptera: Reduviidae) en condiciones controladas, para construir una tabla de vida y conocer la supervivencia y mortalidad de este depredador. El ciclo de Z. renardii a 24 ± 2ºC, 45 ± 5% de humedad relativa y fotoperíodo de 14 horas luz se completó en 120,35 días desde ovipostura hasta la muerte de los adultos Las ninfas de Z. renardii se alimentaron con ninfas y adultos del pulgón del rosal Macrosiphum rosae L., pulgón verde del duraznero Myzus persicae (Sulzer) y pulgón pardo del duraznero Brachycaudus tragopogonis Kaltenbach, mientras que los adultos fueron provistos de larvas y adultos de los coccinélidos Eriopis connexa Germar, Adalia bipunctata L., Hippodamia variegata (Goeze) y Cryptolaemus monstrouzieri Mulsant. La alimentación se hizo cuatro veces a la semana con un promedio de 10 pulgones por ninfa para los primeros 3 estadíos ninfales, y 20 pulgones por ninfa en los últimos 2 estadíos juveniles. Los adultos fueron alimentados exclusivamente con un promedio de 7 coccinélidos (larvas y adultos) a la semana. Propomos um estudo interdisciplinar das estéticas da informática musical, que articule os níveis histórico, analítico e crítico para chegar a novas perspectivas sobre a música electrónica contemporânea. Partindo da ideia de música como arte-ciência (Varèse), da sua noção de som cinético (como um processo), da redefinição radical do pensamento composicional perante a emergência dos meios electrónicos (Schaeffer, Koenig, Xenakis), chegamos à presente era digital, apoiados em novas teorias do som (e.g. Radulescu). Situação inédita na história da música, as tecnologias de produção e distribuição encontram-se reunidas num único meio, com consequências fundamentais para a criação musical (composição e improvisação) e análise. O cerne do estudo será estabelecer uma historicidade sincrónica da música informática e sua estética, a partir duma análise das dimensões sociais, políticas, económicas e ideológicas (descrevendo as superestruturas técnicas e tecnológicas), assim como a sua fundamentação psicológica, subjectiva e intersubjectiva. Apresentamos um enquadramento conceptual da filosofia da música: a energia musical irrealizada, concebido em co-autoria com Jorge Lima Barreto, e que é o firmamento teórico para a prática da improvisação do duo Zul Zelub1, assim como de diversas obras de natureza intercultural, interarte e intermédia. A energia musical irrealizada investiga o universo que antecede a criação musical: Ideias musicográficas jamais escritas, imaginário poético sem efectivação literária e artística, todos os gastos de energia criativa musical do irrealizado. Em busca dum “elogio da Abertura” - da forma aberta e da indeterminação em direcção à música intuitiva e à improvisação total - o objectivo é revelar alternativas estéticas, estabelecendo contacto com a essência das circunstâncias dominantes.
We propose an interdisciplinary study on the aesthetics of computer music, encompassing historical, analytical and critical standpoints to reach new perspectives on contemporary electronic music. Starting from the idea of music as an art-science (Varèse), of sound as a process, and from the radical redefinition of compositional thought caused by the emergence of electronic media (Schaeffer, Koenig, Xenakis), we arrive at the present digital era, supported by new theories of sound (e.g. Radulescu). Today, the production and distribution technologies are combined in one single medium, an unprecedented situation in the history of music, with fundamental consequences for composition, improvisation and analysis. The core of the study is to establish a synchronous historicity of computer music and its aesthetics, from an analysis of the social, political, economic and ideological (describing the technical and technological superstructures ), as well as their psychological, subjective and intersubjective basis. We present a conceptual framework of the philosophy of music – the unrealized musical energy, co-authored with Jorge Lima Barreto - which is the theoretical firmament for musical improvisation (Zul Zelub2), as well as several interartistic, intercultural and intermedia works. The unrealized musical energy investigates the universe which precedes musical creation: musicographical ideas never written before, poetic imagery without literary and artistic materialization, all expenses of the creative musical energy not yet made into existence. In search of a "praise of Openness" - from open-form and indeterminacy towards intuitive music and total improvisation - the aim is to reveal aesthetic alternatives, establishing contact with the essence of the prevailing circumstances.

Tomislav Zelic hebt in seiner Einleitung zu diesem Sammelband die paradigmatische Bedeutung mediterraner Räume für die Erforschung von Interkulturalität bzw. Transkulturalität hervor. Nach einem kurzen Tagungsbericht folgt eine Übersichtsdarstellung der Einzelbeiträge sowie einiger Querverbindungen zwischen diesen. Darüber hinaus werden zwei weitere Publikationen vorgestellt, die aus dem virtuellen GiG-Kongress an der Universität Zadar hervorgegangen sind. The scant attention anger has received in a crusading context has focused almost exclusively on positive manifestations of that emotion, especially ira per zelum (anger through zeal). It is contended here that the importance of crusading in providing a setting for the legitimate outpouring of anger against non-Latins has been overstated. While zelus and the idea of crusading as vengeance continued to intersect and to be espoused after 1216, the terminus date of Susanna Throop’s 2011 study, zelus proves to be an ambiguous term, and one relatively poorly attested in twelfth- and thirteenth-century narratives of the crusades. Moreover, when the semantic field is broadened to encompass other anger terms, it becomes clear that anger was not an integral component of crusading ideology; and a close reading of accounts of righteous wrath, especially in relation to rulers, suggests that crusading did little to popularize or modify pre-existing attitudes towards anger in western Europe.

Abstract This chapter considers two American novels which unfold in Cape François during 1802. The first, Leonora Sansay’s Secret History; or, The Horrors of St. Domingo (1808), has been the primary touchstone for Americanist attempts to read the impact of Haiti on the early Republic. The second text, the pseudonymously published Zelica, the Creole (1820), reworks Sansay’s earlier novel to gauge how the function of Haiti in the U.S. American imagination shifted across the decade separating the two publications. In this regard, the chapter marks how earlier apprehensions of the socio-political effects of the Haitian Revolution (which fuel Secret History) evolved into more intimate fears (as registered in Zelica) over how it potentially destabilized American whiteness itself. Using Zelica and Secret History as measures of cultural restlessness in the face of an independent Haiti, this chapter argues that unease over Black freedom aggregated across the second decade of the nineteenth century.

Abstract Chapter 3 focuses on climatic discourse in sentimental race fictions of the Haitian Revolution, specifically Leonora Sansay’s Secret History (1808) and Zelica, the Creole (1820), a novel sometimes attributed to Sansay that rewrites the plot of the precursor text in interesting ways. The most striking difference between the two narratives is the foregrounding of a mixed-raced protagonist in Zelica, which thus anticipates the vogue of interracial literature in later decades. The chapter argues that the rewriting of Secret History can best be understood in relation to the despatialization and dematerialization of climate discourses in the nineteenth century. While both texts employ climatic registers in complex ways, we can observe a shift away from fluid ascriptions linked to the tropical locales and climates to more dualistic conceptions of identity grounded in inherited features.

Abstract Boeing-SVS has developed an integrated modeling tool, Zelink, which effectively combines three commercial standard codes, Zemax, Simulink and Nastran, to predict the effect of quasistatic and dynamic disturbances on optical metrics of interest in optical space structures. Examples of optical metrics are time-varying wavefront error, point spread functions and predictions of image degradation. A simulation might involve specification of a slew angle and prediction of time-varying wavefront error. Different command shaping and attitude control techniques might be evaluated with respect to their ability to minimize wavefront error. Implementation of such simulations has shown significant dependence of simulation results on the structural modeling approach. In particular, one approach may introduce errors in the optical metric of interest, where another approach may avoid errors. The sensitivity of the optical metric is related to the necessity of maintaining the optical prescription when there is no structural deformation. A quasistatic rotation of the space structure should not significantly distort the optical prescription, since there is almost no structural deformation associated with this maneuver. This paper discusses structural modeling approaches and makes recommendations specific to optical space structure simulations.
