This research examines the statistical method for quality control. The accuracy of parts is controlled statistical evaluation - an average and a dispersion of the indicator for accuracy. This paper reports a method for quality control of parts of average indicators and algorithm for quality control of the average and dispersion of samples of small size. It proposes a criterion of applicability of statistical adjustment of accuracy by sampling for control of the average data of the quality indicator. It proves the influence of the dispersion of the quality indicator for impairing the quality of the process.

As the frequency, severity, and costs of safety risks continue to become a challenge for mining industry, the company understood that the existing safety analytic does not provide adequate information, as it has been relying predominantly on collecting and evaluating aggregated data of lagging indicators about past accidents. This method has been negatively driving the organization to carry out repetitive cycle of accident analysis and problem solving, and therefore, undertaking reactive responses. This paper investigated how statistical process control, in particular control charts, can be applied to hazards data, as the leading indicator of accidents, to detect statistically trends in safety process and safety behavior, aiming to control the safety process in real-time manner before the occurrence of accidents. The result showed that the latest iteration of control limits development in Phase 3 is suitable as the control chart for safety process in one of case study mine operation site. Furthermore, the implementation of control charts to hazards data not only it helps the organization to transition its safety analytic to leading indicator analysis, it enables the organization to control safety process in real-time practice and to carry out timely safety intervention long before the potential occurrence of severe accidents, in which within this case, the first early warning signal was triggered 49 days before the occurrence of the fatality accident.

To negate the disadvantage in the current evaluation indicator of green residence where no weight difference is included, an indicator system is established based on the Evaluation Standard for Green Buildings in Fujian Province through questionnaire. By combining the regional features of Fujian Province, analytic hierarchy process is applied to assign weight for green residence evaluation indicator in accordance with the statistical result of questionnaire survey data, so as to improve the effectiveness of green residence evaluation.

The sophisticated and extensive toolkit for designing, managing, and measuring industrial processes is constantly expanding and forced to meet the new standards that are set by the limitless amount of data offered by the digitalisation of the industrial environment. However, services are managed under cumbersome conditions, in terms of expectations, measurability, and the modelling techniques used. Key performance indicators (KPIs) have been used for a long time in the private sector and industry compared with the public sector. Companies often use KPIs to measure the performance of individual processes to determine whether they meet or fail the expectations of customers and themselves. While public sector service providers are often monopolistic, the performance measurement also becomes a hot debate in the public sector as the citizens’ demand for quality services increases. This study aims to identify objective KPIs and demonstrate how they can be measured in a public service context, regardless of the type and complexity of the given service. As an example, the authors discuss the front office operations of government windows and the contact affair procedures of guardianship offices. They apply business process modelling in order to map the service processes and perform a statistical analysis to extract waiting, processing and lead times from the available dataset to comprehensively overlook these services. Their goal is to offer an analogy of industrial service process management by presenting how the methods and measures can be used to review processes in an industrial, manufacturing or public service, using a holistic management approach.

Spatial planning on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concerns with the integration between land use and transportation aspects. However, in some places, public transport management based on transit nodes such as train services which are not well- integrated, and causing spatial chaos, especially surrounding station areas. It is essential to prepare a public transportation plan by maximizing regional potential capacity with TOD model. The purpose of this paper is to identify and prioritize potential areas for TOD using spatial statistical analysis with combined models of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) for Jakarta Metropolitan Regional (JMR), Indonesia. This paper employed two major indicators: main- and sub-indicators depending on relevant references. The weight of each indicator was determined by chosen experts. The result showed that some of the metro areas of Jakarta were highly suitable for TOD and indicated the characteristics of the development of urban areas. This paper’s outcome was useful in order to determine the potential location of TOD and was applicable to other areas within the same geographical conditions.

Abstract The increasing pressure of globalisation on the worldwide market has forced enterprises to shift their focus from product quality to effectiveness of internal business processes. The object of interest of this paper is a modern management approach based on corporate performance evaluation by measuring the performance of internal processes. The paper aims to prove that the use of modern indicators and the measurement of internal processes belong among factors that have a direct positive impact on corporate performance. To reach the aim, empirical primary research was carried out. The paper focused on research results regarding the use of modern indicators for the measurement of business processes in Slovak industrial enterprises from selected branches. The primary quantitative research was conducted using questionnaires. The research aimed to test the hypothesis stating that enterprises using modern indicators to measure process performance have been reaching more positive ROE values, representing a basic indicator of corporate performance. Dependences among the data selected from the empirical research were analysed using statistical methods, namely, the chi-squared test, T-test and the correlation analysis. Based on the statistically processed data, the authors concluded that business processes are a basic source for the evaluation of corporate performance. Higher ROE values can be reached using modern process indicators, especially in mass production enterprises. The paper contributed to the further development of knowledge in performance management, specifically, process-oriented management.

Abstract In order to solve the problem that the quality of steel strip products is rough by manual evaluation, this paper will combine expert knowledge with quality data and establish four evaluation grades by taking surface quality, mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy as evaluation indicators. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and entropy weight method are used to confirm the weight of each evaluation indicator. The mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy indicators are confirmed by statistical method to find out the optimal range of indicator parameters, and the indicator deterioration degree is calculated. The deterioration degree of surface quality indicator is confirmed by fuzzy language quantization. The membership degree of each indicator parameter is calculated according to the membership degree function of ridge distribution, and then the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation result matrix of strip quality is obtained by synthesizing each indicator parameter step by step. Finally, the comprehensive score of strip steel quality is obtained by quantizing and summing the evaluation result matrix. The experimental results show that the evaluation result of the model is consistent with the actual data, so it has certain practicability.

This research aims to identify one of the methods of statistical quality control, which is represented in the indicators of the Capability Process and explains its importance and how to use it for knowing the extension of the process to fulfill the specifications through several indicators with a statement that through practical application on one of the pharmaceutical products (Paramol Tablets Weights) one of the products of Yemeni Drug Company for Industry and Commerce (YEDCO). Hence, the results showed that the permits of process specifications of the tablet weight are equal to about 5 standard deviations, which is less than the standard practices, which are 8 standard deviations. Therefore, the capacity of the process for tablet weight is Cp<1, which is an undesirable state; because the production process is unable to satisfy the specifications. The CPK indicator shows that the process is decentralized and hence the inability of the process to fulfill the specifications; therefore, the company has to revise the limits of Paramol tablet weights specifications and to expand it as the company adopts numerous pharmacopeias in its operations. It must select the pharmacopeia that gives specifications which can make the process capability indicator and the index of process concentration in their standard state (Cp, Cpk=1.33mg).

The purpose of the article is to study the patterns of evaluation of quality indicators of the technological process on a sizeless scale. The quality of production depends on the quality of technological processes, namely - many factors of technological, technical and organizational nature. The technological process is the basis of any production process, is the most important part of it, associated with the processing of raw materials and its transformation into finished products. Product quality is the most important indicator of companies seeking to develop and succeed in competition among other manufacturers. This issue is especially relevant for Ukrainian companies seeking to be competitive in the European and world markets. To manage the quality of the object often have to use statistical methods of evaluation and management, where, as basic information you need to know not the law of distribution of quality in its units, and know the law of distribution of their assessments on a sizeless scale, therefore, research related to determining the patterns of distribution of assessments of quality indicators of the technological process on a sizeless scale. Knowing the law of distribution of unit quality indicators of the object of qualimetry and knowing the dependence with their estimates on a sizeless scale, it is possible to solve practical problems to determine the probability of getting estimates of quality indicators in a given interval. The solution of such problems is relevant in determining the risks of the processes of quality management systems, or determining the reliability of the technological process and other indicators. As a result of the study, the main conditions for the quantity and quality of statistical information were identified. It is shown that the correctness and efficiency of solving practical problems, using statistical methods of quality assessment, is determined by the amount of information about the functioning of the technological process, which can be divided into conservative and operational. Conservative information includes knowledge of the distribution law and finding effective statistical estimates of its parameters, and operational - the sample size.

The geometric dimensioning and tolerancing concept of coaxiality is often required by design engineers for balance of rotating parts and precision mating parts. In current practice, it is difficult for manufacturers to measure coaxiality quickly and inexpensively. This study examines feasibility of a manually-operated, mechanical device combined with formulae to indicate coaxiality of a test specimen. The author designs, fabricates, and tests the system for measuring coaxiality of holes machined in a steel test piece. Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (gage R&R) and univariate analysis of variance is performed in accordance with Measurement System Analysis published by AIAG. Results indicate significant design flaws exist in the current configuration of the device; observed values vary greatly with operator technique. Suggestions for device improvements conclude the research.

In todays connected society, with rapidly advancing technology, there is an interest in offering technical services in our day to day life. Since these services are used to handle sensitive information and money, there are demands for increased information security. Sometimes errors occur in these systems that risk the security for both parties. These systems should be secured to maintain secure operations even though vulnerabilities occur. Outpost24 is one company that specializes in vulnerability management. By using their scanning tool OUTSCAN™, Outpost24 can identify vulnerabilities in network components, such as firewalls, switches, printers, devices, servers, workstations and other computer systems. These results are then stored in a database. Within this study, the authors will work together with Outpost24 towards this data. The goal is to define a process for generation of vulnerability reports for the company. The process will perform a statistical analysis of the data and present the findings. To solve the task a report was created, during which the process was documented. The work began with a background study into Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), in which the most common security KPIs were identified from similar works. A tool was also developed to help with the analysis. This resulted in a statistical analysis using Outpost24’s dataset. By presenting the data formatted by the KPIs, trends could be identified. This showed an overall trend of increasing vulnerabilities and the necessity for organizations to spend resources towards security. The KPIs offer other possibilities, such as creating a baseline for security evaluation using data from one year. In the future, one could use the KPIs to compare how the security situation has changed.

Esta dissertação aborda a redução das perdas de qualidade em um processo de fabricação de fraldas descartáveis, através da implantação da ferramenta de Controle Estatístico de Processo (CEP), que tem por objetivo analisar e monitorar as principais variáveis e características de qualidade que influenciam no processo produtivo. Depois de implantada a ferramenta do CEP, são propostos alguns indicadores de desempenho para a área de produção da empresa que servirão de base para medir e acompanhar o desempenho de alguns processos, importantes para se atingir e acompanhar as metas de melhoria de qualidade almejadas pela empresa. A dissertação apresenta uma revisão detalhada da literatura abordando a qualidade, as perdas existentes no processo produtivo, o Desdobramento da Função Qualidade (QFD - Quality Function Deployment), o Controle Estatístico do Processo (CEP) e os indicadores de desempenho. Os resultados obtidos através da implantação do CEP mostram que a empresa deve investir na tecnologia do seu processo produtivo, pois em muitos aspectos sua qualidade esbarra na falta da mesma, mas deve se deter também na substituição de alguns fornecedores de suas matérias-primas, além de investir no treinamento de seus operadores, pois os mesmos devem estar constantemente renovando seus conhecimentos para prevenir falhas do processo.
This dissertation is about the reduction of the quality losses on a manufacturing process of diapers, through the implantation of the Statistical Process Control (SPC), which main purpose is to analyse and control the main variables and quality characteristics of the process that can inspire the improvement of the productive process. After introduce the tool, will be proposed some performance indicators for the production sector, just for accompanying and control some process in order that the company can reach it's purpose. The dissertation presents a specify revision o f the literature, approa~hing the quality, the losses in the productive process, the Quality Function Deployment (QFD), SPC and the performance indicators. The results gained with the implant of CEP show that the company should invest on the technology o f its manufacturing process, because in many ways the quality collides with a missing policy, but the company should also pay attention to the suppliers ofraw material and maybe replace them. Besides that, the company should invest on training its operator because they should be constantly renovating their knowledge to prevent failure on the process.

Дисертація спрямована на вирішення питань забезпечення стабільного виконання вимог замовників продукції підприємств машинобудівної галузі шляхом удосконалення методів оцінювання результативності системи управління якістю (СУЯ) за рахунок введення кількісних статистичних показників її процесів. Для цього розроблено комплексний підхід до послідовного оцінювання процесів СУЯ, який відрізняється поступовим забезпеченням їх стабільності та зменшенням розсіювання значень їх показників. Запропоновано використовувати число скарг від замовників продукції для оцінки рівня виконання контрактних зобов’язань підприємства. Досліджено можливості методики внутрішнього аудиту (ВА) забезпечувати зменшення числа скарг від замовників та встановлено відмінність у оцінювані результативності процесів життєвого циклу продукції (ЖЦП) та допоміжних. Досліджено фізичну модель статистичного оцінювання результативності процесів ЖЦП, на основі якої розроблено методику їх кількісної оцінки. Удосконалено метод оцінки результативності коригувальних дій. Розроблено методику «Внутрішній аудит СУЯ», яка відрізняється спрощеною процедурою оцінювання при одночасному збереженні високої статистичної надійності висновків аудиту.

Most Statistical Process Control (SPC) research has focused on the development of charting techniques for process monitoring. Unfortunately, little attention has been paid to the importance of bringing the process in control automatically via these charting techniques. This thesis shows that by drawing upon concepts from Automatic Process Control (APC), it is possible to devise schemes whereby the process is monitored and automatically controlled via SPC procedures. It is shown that Partial Correlation Analysis (PCorrA) or Principal Component Analysis (PCA) can be used to determine the variables that have to be monitored and manipulated as well as the corresponding control laws. We call this proposed procedure Active SPC and the capabilities of various strategies that arise are demonstrated by application to a simulated reaction process. Reactor product concentration was controlled using different manipulated input configurations e.g. manipulating all input variables, manipulating only two input variables, and manipulating only a single input variable. The last two manipulating schemes consider the cases when all input variables can be measured on-line but not all can be manipulated on-line. Different types of control charts are also tested with the new Active SPC method e.g. Shewhart chart with action limits; Shewhart chart with action and warning limits for individual observations, and lastly the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average control chart. The effects of calculating control limits on-line to accommodate possible changes in process characteristics were also studied. The results indicate that the use of the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average control chart, with limits calculated using Partial Correlations, showed the best promise for further development. It is also shown that this particular combination could provide better performance than the common Proportional Integral (PI) controller when manipulations incur costs.

Abstract Gender is an important indicator of the processes of social change affecting contemporary society, although in the field of leisure research, it has not always received attention. To fill this gap, recent research proposes to include gender as a significant aspect in leisure paradigms. The chapter aims to analyse gender differences in the use of leisure time within the Italian context using data periodically produced by official statistics. Data, collected over time, make it possible to observe the changes occurring in the way men and women spend their leisure time. The chapter is structured according to the main dimensions of leisure, such as social relationships, sports practice, tourism, cultural participation, and satisfaction with leisure time. To observe gender differences, statistical methods (descriptive and multivariate analysis) were implemented. The results highlight the existence of strong differences in the way in which men and women spend their leisure time. Gender differences are often linked to demographic or sociocultural characteristics, such as age, level of education, or economic conditions. Results presented in the chapter could be used to frame future research aimed at solving weakness and to fill information gaps in Italian leisure gender studies.

Statistical Process Control (SPC) is successfully used by manufacturing and service organizations to control processes. The advent of SPC has created significant improvements in manufacturing, and SPC is a key element in six sigma quality programs. The application of SPC allows trained professionals to analyze any process to better understand and control that process. SPC has been in steady use for decades, and numerous books have been written on its application. “SPC is a decision-making tool, and change is the foundation of SPC. When a process changes (goes beyond established limits), SPC helps the quality specialist identify the change and decide if the change is good or bad.” 1. “If the change is bad, the reason for the change is identified and every attempt is made to eliminate the occurrence of the cause of the change.” 2. “If the change is good, the reason for the change is identified and every attempt is made to make the occurrence of the cause of the change common practice.” [Statistical Quality Control, Seventh Edition] SPC may be applied to component and system monitoring at power plants. Equipment reliability, preventive maintenance effectiveness and plant aging have become more important to the owners and operators of power plants. These issues directly affect the plant’s capacity factor and operating costs. SPC provides feedback on measured process parameters, and power plants measure process parameters. SPC can be used to identify early indication of changes in these parameters. This allows plant personnel to identify performance changes that may be indicative of failing equipment reliability. Since it is a fairly simple tool, SPC is easily available to any power plant operator. Data can be loaded into Excel templates, and the appropriate graphs can be easily generated. Since many personnel are familiar with Excel, the application of SPC can be relatively easy initiate. Other statistical analysis programs are available (ex: EPRI MSET) for process parameter review. However, the other tools are not as simple as SPC. Examples will be provided that demonstrate how SPC can be applied to measured power plant parameters. These examples will also demonstrate how the results of SPC can be used to identify potential equipment reliability issues or to control parameters within narrow bands. Finally, the examples will demonstrate how SPC is superior to run graphs (i.e. a parameter graphed over time — over a “run”) as an analysis tool.

Traditional manufacturing process fault monitoring and detection methodologies have been based on Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and rules. In most cases, SPC is used to detect a fault or an out-of-control condition while fault diagnosis relies on operator expertise to identify the potential root causes. Current sensor developments allow for the acquisition of large amounts of data from parts and processes in a manufacturing environment. In addition, new modeling tools have increased the efficiency and accuracy of process modeling, providing useful knowledge about product-processes interaction. This paper presents a new methodology for fault diagnosis using a Feed Forward Back-Propagation Neural Network. The proposed neural network is trained using process knowledge and then applied to the detection of manufacturing process faults. The methodology results in a modified control chart that uses measurement data from the assembly components and plots an indicator representing the presence or absence of a predefined fault. Two case studies are presented: a diagnosis system for fixture faults in a generic assembly process, and a diagnosis tool for fault detection and identification in an automobile door assembly.

Abstract. Introduction. High neuro-emotional stress among medical workers in organizations with the leading harmfulness of Covid-19 contributes to the formation of an unfavorable functional state, increases the risks of health disorders. The study of the characteristics of the psychophysiological reactions of the body will allow to substantiate the timing of work in a pandemic, which is quite relevant at the present time. The purpose of the research was, on the basis of comprehensive psychophysiological studies, to study the features of the formation of a functional state in medical personnel working in organizations with COVID-19 under the influence of stress factors of the labor process. Materials and methods. A physiological and hygienic assessment of the intensity of the labor process was carried out, psychophysiological changes were studied during 3 months of work in the «dangerous» zone. Statistical processing of the obtained data was carried out using the statistical programs Statistika 10, Microsoft Excel 2010. Results. The formation of neuropsychic stress in medical workers is reflected in changes in ECG indicators (prolongation of the QT interval, decrease in the voltage of the P and T waves) and systemic arterial pressure, an increase in the endurance coefficient (an indicator of detraining of the cardiovascular system), positive values of the Kerdo autonomic index (predominance of sympathetic influences) after 3 months of work in medical organizations with Covid-19. Conclusions. Nervous and emotional tension at work is the leading professional factor among nurses and doctors working in medical institutions with Covid-19 (hazard class 3, grade 3). Indicators of the cardiovascular system, reflecting the degree of adaptation of the body of medical workers to production activities, can be used to justify different periods of work in organizations with Covid-19.

The present study provides an analysis of sectoral risk in the forestry sector and presents an overview of multiple-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) for sector development assessment. The main aim of the paper is to determine the macroeconomic indicators and to assess sectorial risk, which is caused by unexpected macroeconomic and market changes. The paper presents a methodological framework for the analysis of sectoral level risk to assess the probability of the stable development of the industry and to determine the risk for the forestry sector (industry). Based on expert opinions and analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the authors have identified and evaluated macroeconomic industry-level data indicators (factors) used to determine the development of the forestry sector. An analysis matrix with the defined and verified indicators (factors) is presented; the comparison between sectoral inicators and sectoral volatility is shown. In order to combine industry development indicators (factors) expressed in different units of meas-urement and to establish a comprehensive indicator of industry development, the statistical standardisation (normalisation) of indicators is performed.

Abstract This work describes an automated condition monitoring framework to process and analyze vibration data measured on wind turbine gearboxes. The current state-of-the-art in signal processing often leads to a large quantity in health indicators thanks to the multiple potential pre-processing steps. Such large quantities of indicators become unfeasible to inspect manually when the data volume and the number of monitored turbines increases. Therefore, this paper proposes a hybrid analysis approach that combines advanced signal processing methods with machine learning and anomaly detection. This approach is investigated on an experimental wind turbine gearbox vibration data set. It is found that the combination of physics-based statistical indicators with machine learning is capable of detecting planetary gear stage damage and significantly simplifying the data analysis and inspection in the process.

This paper deals with the detection of distributed faults in ball bearings. In literature most of the authors focus their attention on the detection of incipient localized defects. In that case classical techniques (i.e. statistical parameters, envelope analysis) are robust in recognizing the presence of the fault and its characteristic frequency. In this paper the authors focalize their attention on bearings affected by distributed faults, due to the progressive growing of surface wear or to low-quality manufacturing process. These faults can not be detected by classical techniques; in fact, in this case the signal does not contain impulses at the fault characteristic frequency, but more complex components with strong non-stationary contents. Distributed faults are here detected by means of advanced tools directly derived from the theory of cyclostationarity. In particular three metrics — namely Integrated Cyclic Coherence (ICC), Integrated Cyclic Modulation Coherence (ICMC) and Indicator of Second-Order Cyclostationarity (ICS2x) — have been calculated in order to condense the information given by the cyclostationary analysis and to help the analyst in detecting the fault in a fast fault diagnosis procedure. These indicators are applied on actual signals captured on a test rig where a degreased bearing running under radial load developed accelerated wear. The results indicated that all the three cyclostationary indicators are able to detect both the appearance of a localized fault and its development in a distributed fault, whilst the usual approach fails as the fault grows.

The assessment outcome for many online learning methods are based on the number of correct answers and than convert it into one final mark or grade. We discovered that when using online learning, we can extract more detail information from the learning process and these information are useful for the assessor to plan an effective and efficient learning model for the learner. Statistical analysis is an important part of an assessment when performing the online learning outcome. The assessment indicators include the difficulty level of the question, time spend in answering and the variation in choosing answer. In this paper we will present the findings of these assessment indicators and how it can improve the way the learner being assessed when using online learning system. We developed a statistical analysis algorithm which can assess the online learning outcomes more effectively using quantifiable measurements. A number of examples of using this statistical analysis algorithm are presented.

Non-contact high-definition measurement technology, such as laser holographic interferometry, makes it feasible to quickly inspect dimensional variation at micron level, providing up to 2 million data points over a surface area of up to 300×300 mm2. Such high-definition metrology (HDM) data contain rich spatial variation information but it is challenging to utilize this information for process monitoring and control. The spatial distribution of the data is in high-dimensional form and may show nonlinear patterns. Conventional statistical process monitoring and diagnostic schemes based on simple test statistics and linear statistical process models are incapable of capturing the complex surface characteristics as reflected by large amounts of spatial data. This paper develops a framework for efficient monitoring of spatial variation in HDM data using principal curves and quality control charts. Since large scale surface variation patterns (caused by fixturing and part bending) may camouflage those in the smaller scale (generally associated with tooling conditions), it is essential to separate the patterns in these scales and monitor them individually. At each scale, process monitoring is implemented in a sequential manner by monitoring the overall spatial features followed by localized variation identification if an out-of-control condition is detected. To examine the overall spatial characteristics, a principal-component-analysis (PCA) filtered principal curve regression is proposed in conjunction with multivariate control charts whereby nonlinear patterns of spatial data are extracted and monitored. When the overall monitoring indicates a problem, the identification of a surface variation change can be achieved through localized monitoring over each surface region based on variogram pattern analysis and control charts. The location of surface region change provides clues for variation source diagnosis. The proposed method is illustrated using simulated HDM data.

The article considers marriage indicators in cities of the Perm governorate. The indicators of absolute marriage rates, average age of marriage, proportion of early marriages and other parameters of this demographic process were determined based on statistics of the Central Statistical Committee and city parish registers. A certain tendency towards a decrease in marriages at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as a slight increase in the age of marriage among women were observed. Marriage rates were influenced by social and economic indicators of urban development, leading to the democratisation of the marriage process. For women, later marriage resulted in an increased choice of life strategy. A significant number of unmarried and single lived in Perm and Ekaterinburg, where many migrants came.

This article analyzes the ways to apply Learning Analytics, Cloud Technologies, and Big Data in the field of education on the international level. This paper provides examples of international analytical researches and cloud technologies used to process the results of those researches. It considers the PISA research methodology and related tools, including the IDB Analyzer application, free R intsvy environment for processing statistical data, and cloud-based web application PISA Data Explorer. The paper justifies the necessity of creating a stand-alone web application that supports Ukrainian localization and provides Ukrainian researchers with rapid access to well-structured PISA data. In particular, such an application should provide for data across the factorial features and indicators applied at the country level and demonstrate the Ukrainian indicators compared to the other countries’ results. This paper includes a description of the application core functionalities, architecture, and technologies used for development. The proposed solution leverages the shiny package available with R environment that allows implementing both the UI and server sides of the application. The technical implementation is a proven solution that allows for simplifying the access to PISA data for Ukrainian researchers and helping them utilize the calculation results on the key features without having to apply tools for processing statistical data.

This study has modified the tool to facilitate a quick and convenient comparison of various design alternatives in the preliminary design stage for scoping small and medium safety-improvement projects. The modified RoadHAT 4D incorporates a statistical estimation of the Crash Reduction Factors based on a before-and-after analysis of multiple treated and control sites with EB correction for the regression-to-mean effect. The new version also includes the updated Safety Performance Functions, revised average costs of crashes, and the comprehensive table of Crash Modification Factors—all updated to reflect current Indiana conditions. The documentation includes updated Guidelines for Roadway Safety Improvements. The improved tool will be implemented at a sequence of workshops for the final end users and preceded with a beta-testing phase involving a small group of INDOT engineers.
