Abstract: In comparison to many other emerging nations, India uses a fairly little amount of steel in the construction industry. Other nations' experiences suggest that this isn't because steel isn't economically viable as a building material. Maximum Axial Forces On Column Base Of The Structure Column RCC Structure (kN),steel Structure (kN) ,Difference in Foundation Size and Reinforcement Requirements Property RCC Structure, Steel Structure Size:- are found by staad pro software. .With the existing development requirements in India, there is a tremendous opportunity for raising the volume of steel in teaching. A significant loss for the nation results from not utilising steel where it is cost-effective as an alternative construction material. Also, it is clear that modern composite sections made of steel and concrete are a time, money, and cost-effective alternative for important civil structures like bridges and tall skyscrapers.

This paper is an overview of the work done for the design and analysis of the multi-storey building (G+5) under the effect of various forces acting on the building such as dead load, imposed load, wind load, and seismic load. The work was done for the purpose of designing and analyzing the building to withstand the effects of these various forces. The fact that these pressures are working on the building demonstrates that if the buildings are not carefully planned and built with enough strength, then this may lead to the partial or entire collapse of the multi-storey structures. It is necessary to do an analysis and design the structures of multi-story buildings in such a way that they are able to resist the numerous pressures that operate on these buildings in order to guarantee the inhabitants' safety. The primary purpose of this endeavor is to investigate and analyze the effects of wind and seismic activity on the structures. The residential building is a G+5 storey construction, and it is situated in Raipur city, which is the capital of Chhattisgarh state. According to the criteria for the study of seismic load, zone II applies to the location of the building. Throughout the course of its lifetime, every structure will be susceptible to the impacts of a variety of forces, including those caused by dead load, live load, wind forces, and seismic forces. Both wind load and earthquake load contribute to the dynamic load, whereas dead load and imposed load only contribute to the static load. The whole of the structure was analyzed with the assistance of the STAAD PRO programme.

Abstract: Structural planning and design is an art and science of designing with economy elegance and durable structure. The entire process of structural planning and designing is not only requires imagination and conceptual thinking but also sound knowledge of structural engineering besides knowledge of practical aspects such as relevant design codes and by-loss backed up by example experiences. The purpose of standards is to ensure and enhance the safety, keeping careful balance between economy and safety. In the present study G+5 building of 9.0mX15.2m.Area 136.8sqmeter at Badarpur New Delhi , is designed (Slabs, Beams, Columns and Footings) using STADD PRO software. In order to design them, it is important to first obtain the plan of the particular building that is, positioning of the particular rooms (Drawing room, bed room, kitchen toilet etc.) such that they serve their respective purpose and also suiting to the requirement and comfort of the inhabitants. Thereby depending on the suitability; plan layout of beams and the position of columns are fixed.

Abstract: This research work focuses on comparison of seismic analysis of G+12 story buildings stiffened with shear wall at various locations. The performance of the building is analysed in Zone II, for Mumbai city. This research paper includes understanding the main zone factor that tends the structure to perform poorly during lateral moments caused by earthquake in order to achieve their appropriate behaviour under future earthquakes. The analysed structure is symmetrical, G+12, Ordinary RC moment-resting frame (OMRF). Modelling of the structure is done by using staad proV8i software. The Time period used for the seismic calculations of the structure in both the direction is achieved from the software and as per IS 1893(part I):2016 seismic analysis has conducted. The Lateral seismic forces of RC frame are carried out using equivalent static method as per IS 1893(part I): 2016. The purpose of present work is to understand that the structures need to have suitable Earthquake resisting features to safely resist large lateral forces exerted on structure during lateral movement of structure. Shear walls are efficient (model no.3), In terms of effectiveness in minimizing lateral movement and damage caused due to the earthquake in structure the conventional frame system also provides the resistance to structure but it is unable to minimise the damage caused by the earthquake in structure. A comparative analysis is done in terms of Base shear, Displacement, Axial load, Moments in Z direction in columns and maximum bending moments in beams. Abstract: From the beginning of life on Earth it is evident that natural catastrophes cause a lot of destruction to human life and property. One of the major natural phenomena is the Earthquake. Sudden shaking of ground is a difficult challenge to any structure standing on earth. Due to Improper design of the structure without seismic resistance many buildings have collapsed, and lives have lost during earthquakes. Different shapes & materials of buildings have been used to achieve the strength required to withstand the earthquake. In modern era, lots of seismic force resisting techniques are being used to make a structure/building earthquake resistant. These techniques include introducing Shear walls. to enhance the structure. In this paper, I present a Comparative analysis of earthquake resisting techniques on a multi storey building with the help of different types of Shear walls and using software. The comparison is done between an un-Resisting structure, parallel shear walls, Lshaped shear wall, diagonal bracings, X-shaped bracings & V shaped bracings. The use of shear walls helps to strengthen then structure to make it more Earthquake resistant. The analysis in done on a G+10 building for seismic zone III as per IS 1893:2002 codal provisions. The software that I have used to carry out this analysis is Staad pro v8. It is found out that shear walls contribute largely in reducing the deflection by increasing the strength and stiffness of the building. The results of this project can further be used to enhance the seismic strength of buildings using combination of seismic resistance techniques. Abstract: Due to the rise in population and increase in urbanisation levels in our country, most of the settlements are in urban areas. As the cities that already existing are heavily populated along with a great deal of limitations in the infrastructure, emergence of an advanced township away from the vicinity of these overpopulated urban areas offer safer and better accommodation for the people. The planning and layout of the project is shown using autoCAD and for the structural analysis we use STADD Pro V.18i. Demographic analysis is done among specific clientele. Development of roof top rainwater harvesting(sump)has been carried out in order to provide source of water for the whole population of the township. Use of intze tank which is a circular overhead tank to meet the daily water requirement of the population inside the township.For the proper disposal and processing of the waste generated, almost 30 acres of land is being used to hold the per capita waste generated which managed after calculating factors like total waste generated, estimated landfill, total area required for land etc. The salient features a major advantages of this township is discussed in detail. Abstract In the present scenario, Minor bridges over small rivers have become necessary for the nation’s development to connect the country’s most remote corners. In this paper initially, 30 m of Minor Multi-cell Box type Bridge with different number of precast sections along with the different types of load such as Dead Load, Live Load, Super Imposed Dead Load, Earth pressure, and vehicle load such as Class “A” vehicle, 70R bogie vehicle, 70R Wheeled vehicle, 70R Tracked vehicle, as per IRC is analyzed. Also, various Load Combinations are applied to bridge structure such as limit state of collapse and limit state of serviceability, for accurate results of Bending Moment and Shear Force critical sections are marked. The aim and objective of the work are to analyze and design the different span lengths 3.43, 4, 4.8,6,8 m of box sections for the Indian Road Congress Code (i.e. IRC 6-2017 and IRC 112-2011). This has been done by analyzing the structure using software STADD PRO V8i. And design validating with manual results by developing the Microsoft Excel Sheet. From analysis and discussion, it is concluded that 5 sections of 4.8 m span which give better results and minimum cost compared to other section.

This study aimed to get empirical evidence about the effectiveness of STAD and TPS cooperative learning on junior high school students’ achievement and interest in mathematics. This study was a quasi- experimental research design with completely randomized factorial design. Sample were seventh grade students from two schools in Kebumen. The research instruments consisted of tests and interest questionnaire which contains questions and statement to determine the effectiveness of the learning model on students’ achievement and interest. The results showed that there was significant difference in achievement for STADA class (p = 0.046), STADB (p = 0.000), TPSA (p = 0.000), and TPSA (p = 0.042). In terms of interest, STAD and TPS significantly differed (p = 0.001, p <0.005). Multivariate analysis results show that there was interaction between learning model with the type of school (p = 0.001, p <0.005). It can be concluded that STAD and TPS cooperative learning were effective from the aspect of students' achievement and interest in mathematics. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain completely randomized factorial design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII dari dua sekolah yang ada di Kabupaten Kebumen. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas tes dan angket minat yang berisi soal-soal uraian dan item pernyataan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran ditinjau dari aspek prestasi dan minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan prestasi yang signifikan untuk kelas STADA (p= 0,046), STADB (p= 0,000), TPSA (p= 0,000), dan TPSA (p= 0,042). Pada aspek minat, kelas STAD dan TPS juga berbeda signifikan (p=0,001,). Hasil analisis Multivariat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan jenis sekolah (p=0,001). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan tipe TPS efektif ditinjau dari aspek prestasi maupun minat siswa terhadap matematika. Kata kunci: pembelajaran kooperatif, STAD, TPS, prestasi, dan minat belajar matematika.

Headaches associated with exertion and physical activity correspond to primary disorders or secondary to underlying diseases, requiring careful anamnesis and neurological examination, as physiopathological and clinical characteristics coincide in both groups. On primary health care this aspect must be judicious, as the undervaluation of complaints, delay on the diagnosis or failure to timely refer to the emergency department in the face of a serious secondary cause imply a risk to life or serious sequelae. Primary exercise headache has relevant particularities, such as sudden and explosive onset, intensity or duration longer than usual in relation to the practice of physical exercise. It is important to know the signs of severity, adapt the anamnesis, physical examination, and clinical management for a correct diagnosis and implementation of an effective therapy.

Den här studien undersöker vilken roll temporära aktiviteter ges i Malmö stads stadsplaneringsprocess.Temporära aktiviteter är en term som omfattar en mängd olika aktiviteter i det offentliga rummen,men vår studie utgår från temporära aktiviteter som fysiskt förändrar och omgestaltar stadsrummet.Temporära aktiviteter och temporär användning har i takt med globaliseringen fått ett allt större utrymme ivästerländska städer, det kan därför ses som en motreaktion på en osäker framtid som präglas av växandeekonomiska, sociala och teknologiska förändringar. Tillämpningen av temporära aktiviteter är ett exempelpå att skapa mer flexibla och dynamiska platser för att ge städer mer livfulla stadsrum, det bidrar till ettdiversifierat och mer heterogent stadslandskap samt med ett förhöjt demokrativärde. Vår forskning baseras på en flerfallstudie av tre olika exempel på temporära aktiviteter som skiljer sig åtutifrån initiativtagarens intention och syfte med användningen. De tre exempel som presenteras i studien ärSteppe Side, Pig Barrier och Naturmolnet. Vi har i fallstudien genomfört två kvalitativa intervjuer gällandedessa exempel, samt genomfört en dokumentanalys för att tolka Malmö stads syn på temporära aktiviteter.Utifrån det empiriska materialet analyseras och diskuteras detta i förhållande till den teoretiska ingången. Studien visar att Malmö stad tillämpar en övergripande instrumentell syn på temporära aktiviteter, vilketinnebär att den ges en underordnad roll och endast fyller ett tomrum i väntan på att en mer gynnsamexploatering tar vid. Med en instrumentell syn på det temporära används det i marknadsföringssyfte och föratt bibehålla skenet av en urban tillväxt. Vad som går förlorat är de mervärden en temporär aktivitet medfördå syftet inte längre är för användarna, utan istället används som ett verktyg som riskerar att bidra till enökad gentrifiering. Vad vi också uppmärksammar i studien är att vi ser försök från Malmö stad till att gå moten mer flexibel och dynamisk planeringsprocess, men att de ännu inte är i det stadiet där det temporära kansamexistera med den långvariga planeringen. Avslutningsvis lyfter studien exempel på åtgärder som vi anserkan bidra till att nå till det stadie där det temporära lever i symbios med det permanenta.
This study examines the role of temporary activities in the City of Malmö’s urban planning process.Temporary activities are a term that encompasses a variety of activities in public spaces, but our study isbased on temporary activities that physically change and transform the urban space. Temporary activitiesand temporary use have, in step with globalization, gained increasing space in Western cities, whichcan therefore be seen as a counter-reaction to an uncertain future characterized by growing economic,social and technological changes. The application of temporary activities is an example of creating moreflexible and dynamic places to give cities more lively urban spaces, it contributes to a diversified and moreheterogeneous urban landscape with an increased democratic value. Our research is based on a multiple-case study of three different examples of temporary activities that differbased on the initiator’s intention and purpose of use. The three examples presented in the study are SteppeSide, Pig Barrier and Naturmolnet. In the case study, we conducted two qualitative interviews regardingthese examples, and conducted a document analysis to interpret the City of Malmö’s view of temporaryactivities. Based on the empirical material, this is analyzed and discussed in relation to the theoreticalframework. The study shows that the City of Malmö applies an overall instrumental view of temporary activities,which means that it is given a subordinate role and only fills a void while waiting for a more favorabledevelopment to take over. With an instrumental view of the temporary, it is used for marketing purposesand to maintain the appearance of urban growth. What is lost is the added value a temporary activity entailsas the purpose is no longer for the users, but instead is used as a tool that risks contributing to increasedgentrification. The study also draws attention to the attempts from the City of Malmö to move towards amore flexible and dynamic planning process, but that they are not yet at the stage where the temporary cancoexist with the long-term planning. Finally, the study highlights examples of measures that we believe cancontribute to reaching the stage where the temporary lives in symbiosis with the permanent.

The tourism sector in Stockholms city, Sweden, is a dynamic industry that through the years has generated large revenues and job openings. Unpredictable events such as terrorism, pandemics, natural disasters and climate changes, may have great imapct on the tourism sector. This may be true to most cities in the world including Stockholm. in this thesis, the effect of various unpredictable events has been investigated through interviews with city of Stockholm and the authority for community protection and preparedness. In use of strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT-analys). The main conclusion of this thesis is that the Covid-19 pandemic (year 2020) has shown that the emergency preparations for unpredictable events are incorrectly dimensiond. This means that the city of Stockholm needs to work more proactively in the future to ensure that the tourism sector is not jeopardized during upcoming unpredictable events.

Begreppet hållbar utveckling kan ha ett flertal varierande innebörder men brukar ses utifrån tre hållbarhetsaspekter, social, ekologisk och ekonomisk. Begreppets mångtydighet har gjort det attraktivt att använda i många olika sammanhang. Detta har bidragit till att hållbar utveckling kritiseras för att vara diffust och ett tomt ideal. Begreppet hållbar utveckling kan ses som ett globalt imperativ och en diskurs där städerna blivit den arena där dessa ideal konkretiseras. Sett utifrån ett översättning- och idéreseteori blir städerna därmed centrala översättningsaktörer. Vad som fokuseras på i översättningen blir med anledning av begreppets mångtydighet intressant. Malmö stad vill idag identifieras som att vara den hållbara staden. I den senaste versionen av översiktsplanen från 2014 skriver Malmö stad att social, ekologisk och ekonomisk hållbarhet endast kan uppnås om dessa hållbarhetsaspekter samverkar då de är ömsesidigt beroende av varandra. Alla stadens förvaltningar är skyldiga att arbeta med och utifrån begreppet hållbar utveckling. Studiens syfte är att med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer samt analys av skriftliga texter studera hur Miljöförvaltningen i Malmö översätter Malmö stads vision om att arbeta utifrån hållbar utveckling och dess tre hållbarhetsaspekter. Studien utgår från nyinstitutionell teori och använder sig av idémodellen för att urskilja hur en idé från Malmö stad reser och översätts ner till Miljöförvaltningen. Resultatet av studien visar att begreppet hållbar utveckling i Malmö stad samt inom Miljöförvaltningen länge har förknippats med ekologisk hållbarhet men att detta är något som förändrats. Idag associeras begreppet med mer än enbart den ekologiska aspekten. En av orsakerna till det här är Malmökommissionens rapport om social hållbarhet. Personerna som intervjuats i studien uttryckte på övergripande nivå en gemensam syn gällande innebörden i begreppet hållbar utveckling. När det kom till att precisera begreppet skiljde sig dock uppfattningarna åt. Skillnaderna korrelerade med intervjupersonernas arbetsuppgifter och avdelningstillhörighet.
Sustainable Development is often considered from three different aspects: social well-being, care for the environment and economic growth. Within these three aspects the concept can have many different meanings. The concepts ambiguity makes it attractive to use, but it is also exposed to criticism for being too vaguely, and can therefore become an empty ideal. Sustainable Development can be seen as a global imperative and discourse where cities have become the arena for concretizing these ideals. Therefore, based on translation- and “Travels of ideas” theory, cities play a central role in the translation of the concept. The municipality of Malmö often desires to identify themselves as the sustainable city and they wrote in the cities latest comprehensive plan from 2014 that social, environmental and economic sustainability can only be achieved in tandem and are equally dependent on each other. Because of that the municipality of Malmö has determined that every one of their administrations are obligated to take in, and work with, Sustainable Development in their organizations. The purpose of this study is through qualitative interviews and analysis of documents and other written texts, see how the Environmental Administration in Malmö translates Malmö’s vision regarding Sustainable Development from the three different aspects in to their organization. The study is based on new institutionalism theory and the “Travels of ideas” model to see how an idea from the municipality of Malmö travels down and translates in to the Environmental administration in Malmö. The study's results show that Sustainable Development in the city of Malmö and in the Environmental administration has long been associated with ecological sustainability, but nowadays this is no longer the case. Today is the concept, Sustainable Development, associated with more than just ecological sustainability. One of the reasons that the concept has got a different meaning can trace back to Malmökommissionens report regarding social sustainability in Malmö. This study, showed that the interviewees had the same overall view regarding sustainable development, but when it came to clarifying the concept more concrete they gave it different meaning. The differences in the concepts meaning could be linked with the interviewees' duties and departmental affiliation.
