Анотація:
Abstract: The structural analysis programme ETABS V19 and STAAD PRO connect edition has employed. The results were compared to both the software used in present study. Results show that the natural time period is 14.68% more as per STAAD compared with ETAB it observed that it is 58.72% approximately decreasing for diagrid structure, the storey drift is 46.58% more as per STAAD PRO compared with ETAB, however it is 35.99% approximately increasing for diagrid structure. The displacement is 3.98% more as per STAAD PRO compared with ETAB however it is 32.09% approximately decreasing for diagrid structure. It is observed that the stiffness of the floor is 89.64% less as per STAAD PRO compared with ETAB for however it is 89.78% decreasing for diagrid structure. Results show that the base shear is 88.56% more as per STAAD PRO compared with ETAB, however it is 67.5% approximately increasing for diagrid structure for G+19 conventional building.

Pro features a state-ofthe-art user interface, visualization tools, powerful analysis and design engines with advanced finite element and dynamic analysis capabilities. From model generation, analysis and design to visualization and result verification, STAAD. Pro is the professional’s choice. Initially we started with the analysis of simple 2-dimensional frames and manually checked the accuracy of the software with our results.

Анотація:
The skew effect in a bridge makes the designing and analyzing of bridge more complex. Bridge design is more troublesome by considering skew angle in the engineering community, so there is a requirement to study the effect of skew angle on the skewed bridges such as bending moment, shear force, and other parameters. This investigation based on the effect of skew angle on the design of steel composite super structures in bridges. Four models have been created and have been utilized by using Finite element-based software STAAD PRO V8i. Skew angles are taken as 0, 15, 30, and 45 degrees and all models are exposed to IRC class A, IRC class 70R vehicle and Special Vehicle loading. Results for skewed bridges are in examination with the straight or non-skewed bridges.

The theses presented proposes an innovation of load test stand for electric drives. It begins with a general overview of load test stand types, their manufacturers and measurement methods in load and no-load situations. Next part analyses current circuit diagram of the load test stand and its risks. This is followed by a proposal for innovation of the circuit diagram which is divided into electrical and control part using current load test stand and its mechanical parts. A wiring diagram is created, the control part is processed by the Logosoft program. The design is evaluated from the safety point of view and modified to meet applicable technical standards.

This Master’s thesis deals with measuring of acting forces from rider to footbike during the ride, followed by the construction of test stand to draw an equivalent load. Measurements and subsequent analysis of acting forces from the rider to the footbike were made. These results were then used for complete design of the test stand. The frame of the test stand was subdued to a stress analysis. A complete automatic control system, including a pneumatic control circuit, was also designed. The proposed automatic test stand was then manufactured and put into operation.

Abstract Among all the novel glaucoma surgical devices, the XEN Gel Implant (Allergan plc, Dublin, Ireland) is the only one which uses an ab-interno approach to drain aqueous to the subconjunctival space, similar to conventional filtration surgery. Most MIGS procedures target the Schlemm’s canal and the collector channels which can be difficult to locate. The patency of the downstream drainage system cannot be accurately assessed and the episcleral venous pressure cannot be routinely measured, leading to unpredictable surgical outcomes for trabecular bypass surgery. In contrast, subconjunctival aqueous drainage is more effective at lowering the intraocular pressure, as is evidenced by the efficacy of trabeculectomy which has a long track record. The main advantages of the XEN Gel Implant over other filtering procedures include its less invasive surgical procedure and the favorable safety profile, fast visual recovery, and short surgery duration, rendering this implant particularly suited for patients who are unable to tolerate a long surgical duration or a delayed visual recovery. Although designed as a stand-alone procedure, XEN implantation can be combined with phacoemulsification in patients with concurrent cataract. Although its pressure-lowering ability appears to be superior to trabecular bypass and suprachoroidal MIGS devices, there are surgical nuances which can be difficult to master and the pre- and postoperative management is critical in the success of the XEN Glaucoma Treatment System.

AbstractIn this chapter, we outline some perspectives on embracing the datasets gathered using Extended Non-destructive Testing (ENDT) during manufacturing or repair process steps within the life cycle of bonded products. Ensuring that the ENDT data and metadata are FAIR, i.e. findable, accessible, interoperable and re-usable, will support the relevant stakeholders in exploiting the contained material-related information far beyond a stop/go decision, while a shorter time-to-information will facilitate a prompter time-to-decision in process and product management. Exploiting the value of ENDT (meta)data will contribute to increased performance by integrating all defined, measured, analyzed and controlled aspects of material transformation across process and company boundaries. This will facilitate the optimization of manufacturing and repair operations, boosting their energy efficiency and productivity. In this regard, some aspects that are currently driving activities in the field of pre-process, in-process and post-process quality assessment will be addressed in the following. Furthermore, some requirements will be contemplated for harmonized and conjoint data transfer ranging from a bonded product’s beginning-of-life through its end-of-life, the customization of stand-alone or linked ENDT tools, and the implementation of sensor arrays and networks in joints, devices and structural parts to gather material-related data during a product’s middle-of-life application phase, thereby fostering structural health monitoring (SHM).

To overcome the obstacles like crossing of river, Dam, Heavy Traffic flow in the way of journey Bridges were the part of our day-today life. Construction of such kinds of Bridges were being much challenging. Construction of bridge works are making the life complicated. Much efficient and quick construction of bridges are very important. Cable stayed bridges are visualized for their less construction time, Higher Efficiency. In the construction aspect cable stayed bridges have less supporting points to the ground when compared with traditional Bridges. By thus it is having higher sensitivity to natural calamities like Seismic activity like Earthquakes. Because of supporting long length by pylons the response of these kind of structures should be analyzed for safe construction and better serviceability. The complicated analysis procedure makes the structure safer. The complicated analysis can be simplified by the software’s like Staad Pro. In the software we can create earthquakes in various intensities and the real-time response can be found out. This paper describes more about the cable bridges and their response for the Seismic activity. The analysis procedure is done in Staad Pro and the response of a model cable stayed bridge is figured out for gaining the safety standards for safer construction of Cable Stayed Bridge.

The aim of the project is to design a multi storied building of G+5 floors, at Avanavan cherry about 2 km from Attingal. He design is done by taking in to account the requirements and standards recommended by IS code, Kerala building rules and national building rules. Planning is done using the 3D modeling software Revit 2018with the help of Auto CAD 2017. The structure analysis and design is done using STAAD.PRO.V8i and a cross check is done for selected members using limit state method of design as per IS 456-2000. STAAD. Pro uses a command language based input format, which can be created through an editor called the editor file, the powerful STAAD. Pro graphics input generator or through CAD based input generators like AutoCAD. Output generated by staad.pro consists of detailed numerical results for analysis and design.

In coastal and offshore structures, the predominant forces leading to lateral movements are mainly due to waves, currents, winds, berthing forces, mooring forces and lateral earth pressure due to unstable slope as a result of dredging or siltation etc. Due to relative movement between the piles and the soil, the load transfer to pile is a complex soil interaction problem. It is a two way problem and should be solved by structure-soil model with appropriate load displacement characteristics of both the structure and the soil. Pile-soil interaction analysis is carried out by numerical methods based on iterative techniques of equilibrium of forces and moments, based on relative stiffness of pile-soil system. Conventionally API guidelines and Vesic equation are used to analyze the laterally loaded piles. The study of laterally loaded pile in active soil wedge requires a proper assessment of soil structure interaction phenomenon involving the interaction between pile surface and the surrounding soil. The instability of soil wedge can occur due to self-weight, surcharge load, dredging, siltation and earthquake force. The soil structure interaction problem of piles located in active soil wedge has rarely been approached. Laterally loaded piles are analyzed by methods derived from the classical beam on elastic foundation mode in which the soil support is approximated by a series of independent elastic spring. The soil spring constants estimated from API guidelines and Vesic equations are not suitable for piles located in active soil wedge. Hence in this paper, a numerical study is carried out for a berthing structure in dense sand using PLAXIS 3D and STAAD Pro, in order to study the behaviour of piles in active soil wedge.

The Geomorphic Oscillation Assessment Tool (GOAT) quantifies terrain roughness as a mechanism to better explain forward arming and refueling point (FARP) suitability for Army aviation. An empirically driven characteristic of FARP consideration, surface roughness is a key discriminator for site utility in complex terrain. GOAT uses a spatial sampling of high-resolution elevation and land cover data to construct data frames, which enable a relational analysis of component and aggregate site suitability. By incorporating multiple criteria from various doctrinal sources, GOAT pro-duces a composite quality assessment of the areal options available to the aviation commander. This report documents and demonstrates version 1.0 of the GOAT algorithms developed by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). These details will allow users familiar with R to implement it as a stand-alone program or in R Studio.

Der Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb Nordrhein-Westfalen (BLB NRW) gehört zu den großen Auftraggebern von Bauleistungen am Markt und ist interessiert an Optimierungspotenzialen (u. a. hinsichtlich Zeit, Kosten, Nachhaltigkeit) bei seinen Baustellenabläufen. Der Einsatz von Baurobotern bildet hierbei eine vielversprechende Option, welche u. a. im Hinblick auf aktuelle Entwicklungsstände (TRL), Einsatzpotenziale sowie technische, logistische und regulatorische Randbedingungen eruiert werden muss. Vor diesem Hintergrund war der BLB auf der Suche nach Beratungsleistungen im genannten Themenfeld. Die vorliegende Studie legt den aktuellen Stand von Technologien, Prozessen und Maschinen dar, zeigt Entwicklungstrends auf und ordnet die Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen bezüglich eines zeitnahen und praxistauglichen Einsatzes von Baurobotiksystemen unter Beachtung geltender Regularien ein. Der Bericht fasst die Ergebnisse der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten der GWT-TUD GmbH (GWT) zusammen, welche stellvertretend durch die beiden Projektleiter Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Will (Professur für Baumaschinen) und Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Otto (TU Dresden, Institut für Baubetriebswesen) erarbeitet wurden. There are a number of COTS RTQM systems available today both stand-alone and integrated into welding power supplies, each with its specific advantages and disadvantages. For proper selection, the end user needs to identify and prioritize their needs. To assist in the selection process a guide was generated outlining each systems features and functionality, including important features relative to pipeline applications (e.g. battery operated, field operable, etc.) This guide can be used in conjunction with the users priorities as a starting point for system selection. The objective of this project was to create a concise listing of commercial off the shelf (COTS), real-time quality monitoring (RTQM) systems and their pros and cons with respect to pipeline welding. A limited trade study was conducted to identify the available COTS RTQMs manufactured in the United States and Europe.

We trace the effects of a devastating earthquake that occurred in Northern Pakistan in 2005. Using a new dataset from a survey conducted four years after the earthquake, we first show that the distance of the household from the fault line was not correlated with pre-existing household characteristics, while it was strongly predictive of earthquake-related damage and mortality. Through emergency relief aid, households living close to the fault line reported receiving substantial cash compensation that amounted to as much as 150% of their annual household consumption expenditure. Four years after the earthquake, there were no differences in public infrastructure, household or adult outcomes between areas close to and far from the fault line. However, children in their critical first thousand days at the time of the earthquake accumulated large height deficits, with the youngest the most affected. Children aged 3 through 15 at the time of the earthquake did not suffer growth shortfalls, but scored significantly worse on academic tests if they lived close to the fault line. Finally, children whose mothers completed primary education were fully protected against the emergence of a test score gap. We estimate that if these deficits continue to adult life, the affected children could stand to lose 15% of their lifetime earnings. Even when disasters are heavily compensated, human capital accumulation can be critically interrupted, with greater losses for already disadvantaged populations.
