Objectives. To characterize the preferences of modern adolescents in professional fields, taking into account the influence of demographic and socio-stratification factors, and also to identify the influence of socio-cultural factors: social success (class status, academic performance) and components of a life position (emotional assessment of prospects, plans, value orientations) on the transformation of ideas schoolchildren about professional fields and the features of their recruitment into various professional groups. Background. In connection with the complexity of the current sociocultural situation, which determines the uniqueness of the socialization of the modern adolescent (value-normative uncertainty, increasing social inequality, changing the information space, the transformation of the main social institutions of socialization, primarily family and school), it is becoming important to pay attention to the peculiarities of modern youth in various professional fields. Study design. The study examined the frequency of students’ choice of various professional fields for further activities. The influence of demographic, socio-stratification, factors of social success, components of the life position of students was studied. Participants. 11803 students of the 7th, 9th and 11th grades. Measurements. Anonymous questionnaire survey of students in primary and senior schools, using closed-ended questions, StatSoftStatistika 6.0 package (significant differences, factor analysis). Results. The features of the influence of demographic and socio-stratification factors on the professional preferences of modern adolescents are revealed. Using the factor analysis procedure, five generalized characteristics of the life position of schoolchildren are identified that determine the characteristics of their orientations towards different types of professional activity. Conclusions. The data obtained make it possible to predict the influence of demographic, socio-stratification and sociocultural factors on the nature of the transformations of various socio-professional groups.

The article is devoted to the study of the specifics and types of socio-professional identification. The basis for the research is formed by the study conducted in the city of Perm using the “Who am I?” method that involved surveying the socio-professional groups of entrepreneurs and leaders. It was found that entrepreneurs and leaders typically self-identify through the “social self” and “reflexive self”. Common to the two types of entrepreneurs in terms of self-identification (having and not having an in-depth identification with their socio-professional group) is the correlation of self-confidence and the ability to persuade others. In leaders with in-depth self-identification with their socio-professional group, self-confidence correlates with the ability to organize work while in leaders lacking such self-identification, self-confidence correlates with the ability to talk to people. It is tested whether the self-evaluation of one’s financial status and readiness to change the sphere of one’s activity influence the degree of awareness of socio-professional identification and whether socio-professional identification affects the perception of success in life.

The teacher professional development model is an important part of teacher education and the key aspect in developing teacher’s individual style, consolidating their professional knowledge, and improving their teaching methods. In retrospect to value connotations, the article explores the evolutionary characteristics of the macro design from governmentled to multi-subject collaboration, the development of teacher groups from scattered groups to integration, and the development of individual teachers from passive to active professionals. As for the prospective view, the authors claim the need to deepen the reform of the teacher professional development model by innovations from the governmental macro-regulation of teacher professional development policies, strengthening the integration concept of teacher professional development model, and integrating the elements of the teacher professional development model, as well as improving teachers’ knowledge, teaching techniques, and reflection on teaching

AbstractAmateur astronomers play an important role in historical astronomy and publish a wide range of studies. They can participate nearly as well as professional astronomers since neither are professional historians or archaeologists. Amateurs often restore old instruments and facilities, discovering clues to their design, manufacture and use that would not be noticed by non-astronomical historians.Possible studies include histories of institutions and of astronomy in different countries, biographies, and evolution of ideas. Publications and manuscripts could be studied for matters of current and historical importance. Folklore (of all countries) should be recorded before it dies out, and the beliefs behind it examined. More study groups involving amateurs, professionals and others should be established.

The objective of this study was to analyze the socio-occupational features, perceived stress, coping strategies and self-reported psychopathological symptoms of different groups of health professionals and the relationship among these variables during the Covid-19 pandemic. One hundred and thirty-five healthcare workers participated (medical staff, nursing staff and other health professionals), who obtained higher values than the normative data in the mean scores of perceived stress, phobic anxiety, and anxiety measures. The medical staff group showed a lower level of anxiety and somatization than the other group of healthcare professionals. Being a medical professional, having a lower level of perceived subjective stress, a greater proportion of active coping and lesser passive coping were significant predictors of fewer psychopathological symptoms. The description of a health professional profile with a lower risk of showing psychopathological symptoms can help identify healthcare groups with greater psychological vulnerability. The findings suggest specific psychological factors of interest to consider in interventions aimed at addressing the mental health needs of this population in the health context generated by Covid-19.

This article reveals the relevance of researching the issue of personal safety, as well as examines the essence of the socio-psychological approach to its understanding. It analyzes external and internal threats to personal security. These include natural, man-made, epidemiological, social, economic and other hazards. Furthermore, the article analyzes the practice of overcoming these threats in order to ensure personal safety. Without this, it is impossible to speak about the effective provision of personal safety. The theory and practice of ensuring personal safety is an integral part of social safety psychology. There is still a lot to do both in theoretical and applied terms for its complete design. Currently, there is an urgent need to develop professional competence in various safety areas, not only among professionals, but also among various groups of the population.

The major issue of this PhD in STAPS (Sciences and Techniques of Sporting Activity) is to identify and understand the various dynamics that contribute to building a professional identity in (re)definition, that of the tennis refereeing body whose missions are evolving, particularly in light of the media coverage and the increasing professionalization of this sport since the 1970s. Although being a professional referee is now an established profession in the nomenclatures of trades and jobs, the status of professional referee in the tennis world does not seem to be entirely acknowledged, taking into account the fact that referee’s amateur activity had largely replaced a paid then salaried activity during the end of the 20th century. Among the various elements that constitute the professionalism of the tennis refereeing body and its recognition, it is important to understand, in particular, the access process to the status of international tennis referee, identifying both the issues and the ingredients, the modalities and the levers for promoting the different levels of the refereeing body in the gradual transformation of the status of international tennis referee in France

Following a double socio-historical and monographicpoint of view, this thesis tackles a sociological study of the profession as educator working for the Judicial Protection of Youth (Protection judiciaire de la jeunesse, PJJ). PJJ is an administration of the French Ministry of Justice applying the decisions taken by the juvenile courts. Educators working for PJJ are members of the State Civil Service. The profession therefore forms a “professional bureaucracy” (Mintzberg, 1982), whose professional mandate and aims are related to the founding political project of PJJ: participating in the development of a model of justice, in which the knowledge on the personality of individuals is a condition of their education. Here, we present a study on the genesis and the evolution of this professional bureaucracy from an analysis of the knowledge, in particular psychological knowledge, which helped to define the founding political project of PJJ and to legitimize the changes of this political project. As a first step, we enlighten from a socio-historical perspective the main intellectual, administrative and legal tensions, that arise from the history of PJJ, and provide its operational framework. Secondly, we analyze from a monographic perspective how educators deal with these tensions in practice. We use for this analysis a suite of observational fields: one open and one close educational institutions, and two juvenile detention centers. Our double point of view allows us to question the reconfiguration of the profession of PJJ’s educator, and to provide a bottom-up framework (i.e. from the field) to analyze the main transformations of juvenile justice in France

It was during the collective bargaining of 1936 39 that the category of technicians was first defined and named ; the outlines of the category were subsequently redefined during later negotiations. Since the early 1960's this category has experienced a strong numerical growth which has taken place simultaneously with the development of technicial education. However, the recruitment of young draguates as technicians - especially from the mid-70's onwards - has only partially changed conditions of entry into this category, which still remains closely linked to the working class. In addition, the category does not have any national representative body that would provide it with some cohesion and a possibility of standing as a unified group

This inductive research project, carried out in various homeless shelters, is based on the premise that health-related factors occupy a central position in these spaces which traditionally revolve around social work. By monographing an association in north-western France that runs one of the country’s oldest night shelters, the thesis examines the redefining of the boundaries between social and healthcare. In the space of a century, the homeless person has gone from being an individual whom society sought to distance itself from to a person who must be helped. Little is known, however, about how social workers, historically engaged to take care of these people, have addressed the reevaluation of this social issue. This ethnography, conducted from an insider’s perspective as a former specialised educator, takes a “bottom-up” look at the sanitary redefinition – conceptualized as a sanitarization process – of care for the homeless, questioning the conditions under which the realm of healthcare came to impose itself so prominently and what this implies for professionals and the sheltered alike.Qualifying the idea of a turning point in the care of homeless people’s health, this sociohistorical study first highlights the extent to which care to sheltered people’s health ailments has structured this association’s history, marked as it is, however, by relentless caution to resist any form of medical control. The research then examines the materiality of this consideration of care. Who is actually performing the care giving for the homeless? The study of professional trajectories and practices suggests reflecting on the importance of an intersectional perspective in the analysis of the sanitarization process, insofar as the care provided to the homeless is part of a gendered division of care work. The thesis then turns to the ethnography of concrete situations of assistance for homeless person. By analyzing the effects of this health bias in their care, the study proposes a reflection on the rectification and production of social inequalities in health, to which these individuals are overexposed. Based on the case of shelters and their less visible, but nonetheless central, players in the care of the homeless, this research lies at the juncture of a sociology of health and social work to question, more broadly, the contemporary issues at stake in recompositing the social State

This thesis retraces the origin of the financial advisor position at La Poste. It analyses the emergence of a commercial position within a rapidly changing State administration. La Poste became a public limited company in 2010; symbolically, La Banque Postale was authorised at the same time to provide credit to consumers. However, it was also required to guarantee a certain number of public service missions and to settle previous, unresolved administrative tensions that were affecting its staff on a daily basis. The aim of the professionalisation process analysed in this research was not, however, to transform the professional group into a profession. Ln that sense it may partly be considered atypical. Even though it brought together the functionalist charaeteristics of the Anglo-Saxon "profession" (Wilensky 1964), it did, in fact, aim to impact on staff, thereby constituting more of a strategy for avoiding resistance through regulating the professional group than an empowerment of that group (Boussard, Demazière, Milbum, 20 10). Yet this professionalism from above was intended to ease the tension experienced by staff that were given orders, which we shall labei "prescribèd" and contradictory. The issue was settled by means of organisational changes and the postal staffs "submission", which took place because of the process of professionalism from above (Evetts, 2003). To support this theory, I have based my research approach on qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic and archival methods that are interconnected. These different types of material have been drawn together in the context of a sociology of professional groups, with the aim of analysing the occurrences that take place at group level without losing sight of what is involved in work activity, while bearing in mind the particularities involved in carrying out that work (Demazière, Gadéa, 2009)

This monograph is devoted to the problems of social transformations in modern Russian society, which cover the labor market, forming an extensive socio-professional group of self-employed people with physical and mental labor. The self-employed in the shadow market transform the social structure, forming a specific class, which is characterized by its own original class culture, class norms of behavior, values, and lifestyle. The class character of this professional group marks archaic trends in stratification in the modern Russian Federation and can serve as the basis for the revival of the old traditional urban class — philistinism — in Russia. It is intended for bachelors, masters, postgraduates studying in the areas of "Management", "Sociology", "Economics", "State and Municipal Management", "Personnel Management", as well as for a wide range of readers interested in social transformations in the modern world, social processes of archaization, the formation of class structures and social processes in informal employment markets.

Abstract Policy is a plan for action adopted or pursued by an individual, government, political party, commercial enterprise, or any other organization. The nub of the definition is ‘plan for action’ and this implies action towards a specified objective or goal. In many places in the world examples may be found of governments, professional organizations, or other groups prescribing broad aims for their communities’ dental services or adopting goals for oral health. In those countries where health care and related systems are most highly developed, action towards these goals is generally supported by a strong statutory framework. Nevertheless, while some countries have a long history of slow and gradual development of their dental services underpinned by networks of laws and regulations, health promotion has been included in oral health and related legislation only relatively recently. In countries at the opposite end of the spectrum health promotional activities, where they exist, have arisen haphazardly mostly from the initiative of local authorities or professional groups. These countries have not yet come to rely on formal legislation.

AbstractThe Netherlands has a long history of immigration. One of the oldest groups are the Chinese and one of the most recent ones are migrants from Poland. Both groups have created clear infrastructures for functioning in the Netherlands. One element thereof are complementary schools, i.e., community run schools that teach Chinese/Polish language and culture to Chinese/Polish students with a migration background, mainly on Saturdays. The teachers in these schools are generally community members who are not necessarily qualified as language or culture teachers. An ethnographic approach to these teachers’ classroom practices and perspectives shows that their professional practical knowledge as reflected in the operational and perceived curriculum domain are oriented more toward highlighting and promoting their home country’s national history, identity, ideology and values than to preparing their students for living in the superdiverse society of the Netherlands in which Dutch language and culture, also for many Chinese-Dutch and Polish-Dutch students are dominant.

AbstractDespite the recent international ascendance of children as independent actors and rights bearers, reiterated by the UNCRC, in the eyes of the state children appear as not-yet-fully-citizens. As minors, they do not have the capacity to launch legal procedures on their own behalf or to formally approach a court of law to vindicate their rights, independently of their parents or legal guardians. In other words, in the twenty-first century, when child-driven effective pro se representation, or a form of representation of a child by a child before the court, still appears utopian, the indispensability of adult legal actors as conduits to children’s access to justice is an undeniable reality and contingent on a multiplicity of social, political and economic factors that influence what forms of children’s representation that is made possible. However, while the representation of children by the third parties has received criticism both in social anthropology, and in (critical) childhood studies, scholars have only rarely addressed forms of representation and active litigation on behalf of the child, conducted by legal professionals in different arenas—in the domestic courts, such as the immigration courts, and in international institutions, such as the EHRC and the UNCRC.This chapter builds on earlier published anthropological and socio-legal analysis of court cases related to migration and political activism as well as on a number of original cases from both national and international tribunals collected through interviews and fieldwork observations. It aims at complexifying the existent models of children’s representation, while tackling broader issues of access to justice of the disadvantaged groups. By laying the focus on interactions among children and their lawyers, the objective is to deepen the conceptual understanding of the ways children and their lawyers conceptualize processes of justice-making and make sense of shifting social and legal terrains around the conceptions of representation. In what way are professional legal representation any different from other forms of representation and are they alienating or empowering? What are the exact legal mechanisms, social processes and agents that enable such cases to become legally actionable and contribute to recognizing children’s role as legal subjects?

AbstractIn this chapter, Potjer et al. describe how elementary teachers participating in a professional development program “Historical reasoning in inquiry-based history lessons” develop more nuanced beliefs about the nature of history. Participants’ beliefs about teaching historical inquiry in grades 3–6 develop accordingly. The teachers identify inquiry activities they worked on during the meetings, group discussions, modeling by the facilitator, searching for historical sources, and designing and teaching inquiry-based lessons as important sources of their professional growth. Besides implications for research and future PD programs, the authors describe ramifications for elementary teacher education.

. In the paper we present some results of the study of the social phenomenon of the professional dynasty as a social resource for the reproduction of professional groups. The relevance of the study is based on its interdisciplinary character (social research, economics, philosophy, psychology, history) and a multidimensional approach to the analysis of the professional succession within the family. The research fi lls the gap in the scientifi c studies of the upward social mobility of the members of the professional dynasty including their use of the cultural, economic and social capital. The research obtains scientifi c novelty since we study various professional groups: engineers, doctors, teachers, diplomats, civil servants, taking into consideration their behavioral and educational family trajectories. We used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods: in-depth interviews with experts (N = 40) and members of dynasties (N= 162); the sociological mass survey from 8 regions of Russia (N=1400) and the secondary analysis of statistics of the All- Russian sociological surveys. We present the data on various types of dynasties, their structures and the factors that contribute to the development of professional dynasties

Abstract The growth of neuropsychology as a profession and an academic field of inquiry has resulted in the establishment of several organizations to represent the interests of professionals with diverse interests, backgrounds, and needs. The earliest of such groups tended to focus on the subject matter of the nascent field, regardless of discipline or geography of the members. As the practice of clinical neuropsychology emerged, training, education, and clinical practice issues became more of a focus in the United States. In the mid-1970s several organizations were established that sought to meet the needs of those practicing neuropsychology. The membership of the different organizations emerged from groups that were relatively more clinically or academically focused, although that was not a strict line of demarcation. Well into the 21st century, there are several long-established organizations meeting the needs of an increasingly diverse group of professionals practicing neuropsychology.

The authors in the article analyze the main trends in the development of self-employment during the coronavirus pandemic. The authors pay special attention to a new statistically signifi cant group of workers in the self-employment segment. This group appeared as a result of the introduction of a professional activity tax (NAP) for the self-employed and facilitating the payment of this tax through the “My Tax” system. The offi cial registration of the self-employed in this group made ТЕНДЕНЦИИ РАЗВИТИЯ НОВЫХ СОЦИАЛЬНО-ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНЫХ ГРУПП ВbПЕРИОД ПАНДЕМИИ their comprehensive study possible. Previously, the studies mainly studied potential, not real self-employed. The statistical data of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) allowed the authors to analyze the demographic characteristics of the offi cially registered self-employed, the main types of their activities, the distribution of “new self-employed” by region. This group off ers its services independently through online platforms. In the article, the authors also analyze the degree of eff ectiveness of state support measures for the self-employed during the coronavirus pandemic, what problems this phenomenon brings and how the problems generated by the pandemic are solved. On the example of the Republic of Tyva, the solution of the problems of the self-employed in a particular region of the Russian Federation is considered. Currently, measures to support the self-employed, prescribed in a special tax law and adopted by government agencies during the coronavirus pandemic in order to protect this category of workers from its negative consequences, are mainly economic in nature.

The research subject is future agrarians integrated professional training. Research methods: systematic references analysis; concept research; modeling; pedagogical experience generalization; scientific investigation, data analysis, discussion, students servey, diagnostic testing methods; qualitative and quantitative analyses of research results. The research purpose is to justify the pedagogical conditions for improving the integrated vocational training quality of students and to formulate the specified goals for future agrarians vocational training. It is proved that one of the promising ways for improving the training of specialists by approaching European standards is pedagogical integration. That is why interdisciplinary links of an integrative nature between the four cognitive blocks: social; mathematical; natural; disciplines related to the main branches of agriculture (crop production, animal husbandry, agricultural mechanization) are inserted into the content of training future agrarians. It is proved that under these conditions social, mathematical or professionallyoriented disciplines function as system-forming factors. The pedagogical conditions for the social, natural-mathematical and professional-oriented disciplines integration are considered as a set of interrelated circumstances of the pedagogical process necessary to create a complete training, which implementation provides training of highly qualified specialists at the lowest cost. The article describes using multimedia experience in professional training. Multimedia learning principles are considered. The possibilities of e-textbooks as a means of effective learning in traditional and innovative education systems are also analyzed. Didactic requirements for the creation of this teaching tool are defined. Electronic textbooks “Higher Mathematics” and “Political Science” are presented. The introduction necesssity of educational mixed and distance forms in the specialists’ professional training, according to the current social needs is justified. The interaction and integrity problem of three components such as organizational forms, didactic process and qualification of teachers is considered. The conclusion concerning the training process optimization is made, based on the undertaken generalization. The pedagogical conditions analyses for improving the quality of professional training of students allowed to formulate their main groups, such as the following: naturalmathematical, social and professionally-oriented knowledge of agricultural profile system formation on the basis of an integrative approach; problematic approach to structuring the content of education usage; information and communication technologies and multimedia means usage; formation of individual educational tendencies on the basis of educational mixed forms; distance learning introduction; focusing on the synergetic paradigm of education, which is closely related to the integration and systematization processes of the content of education, its accessibility. The research enabled to formulate the certain goals of future agrarians professional training and ,namely to master their general and special knowledge, the ability to adapt professional knowledge to the agricultural education requirements; to ensure continuity in the study of general and professionally-oriented disciplines of agricultural profile; integration of natural-mathematical, social and special agricultural knowledge and skills in professional activity; creative abilities development of agrarians on the basis of integrative, problem and activity approaches in educational process.

This chapter reviews current views of social stratification in Roman Egypt, then discusses the role, nature, and composition of the various social groups attested in the village of Tebtunis. These include the local elite, consisting of some priestly families and landowners of Hellenic descent or with a strong Hellenized background, members of the numerous professional associations involved in various agricultural and non-agricultural activities, the indigenous population, and slaves. Based on their contractual activity and other contemporary evidence, a close-up analysis is provided for each social group. Socio-economic trends emerge which shed light on the behaviour of the various groups and give us deeper insight into the complex realities of the village, including living standards.

Being one of the most urbanized ethnic groups in Bessarabia, the majority of Russian population was engaged in professional activities. Th e article analyzes the specialized occupations of the Russian-speaking intellectuals from Kishinev when this region was a part of Royal Romania. Changes taken place in the labor market during this transitional historical period have transformed the formerly existing hierarchy of employment, moving the Russians from managerial and administrative structures to economic and cultural spheres of activity. Based on the materials that deal with the life trajectories of diff erent professional groups of intellectuals (offi cials, employees, lawyers, doctors, journalists, artists, etc.), the author reviews a less studied plot of adaptation of the Russian-speaking specialists to new political and socio-economic conditions, determining the ways and chances of their self-realization. Previous professions or the acquisition of new ones, able to realize the creative potential, could emphasize their signifi cance as the “owner of the profession” and allowed them to consistently maintain their habitual lifestyle and cultural traditions, contributing to social adaptation to the new reality.

This contribution presents a blended course model called Constructive and Collaborative Professional Participation (CCPP), developed since 2005. We will describe theories of reference, course structure, activities performed and methods adopted. Starting from a socio-constructivist framework, both online individual and group activities and offline individual and group activities were organized together with Role Taking, "expert" and "Jigsaw" groups inspired by the Aronson method, web-forum and in presence discussions aimed at building various products. The model has been implemented in university courses about Psychology of e-learning and involves companies from the field to professionalize the activities. Academic and business tutors have been purposely trained, to support student participation. Following the Design Based Research methodology, at the end of each edition various kinds of data were collected: questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups with the students and feedback from the tutors and the companies involved. The course trained students on skills related to the syllabus, together with communication, organizational and self-assessment skills. Our results also showed how it was possible to develop identity positioning, in particular the transition from positions as students towards professional positioning.

The purpose of the study: to substantiate the factors and constraints that determine the request for human resource characteristics by employers. Data analyses, generalization, synthesis, method of age shifting were used as methods of research. A number of prerequisites that change the duration of the period of labor activity are analyzed: reform of the education system and the pension system of the Russian Federation; socio-economic transformations; sanctions restrictions; specificity of generations, etc. The considered prerequisites determine the presence of factors influencing the peculiarities of the processes in human resource management of the organization. It is hypothesized that internal factors are controllable and have a greater influence on the choice of human resource policy in the context of digital transformation. The professional and qualification structure of generational groups is presented in the nexus of generational shifts in the labor market. The results of the study suggest that sanctions will have a negative impact on the employment conditions of workers. There are gaps between the professional training of specialists and the demands of employers, who create alternative forms of training to meet their needs. The novelty of the study lies in the analysis of the current situation in the Russian labor market and the conclusions about the need to provide new formats of interaction between universities and business.

Digital tools allow changing easily between different uni- and multivariate displays and summary statistics for a deeper insight into the data. In this paper we examine the suitability of several digital data analysis tools for exploring a large, multivariate socio-economic dataset, ranging from educational tools (TinkerPlots, Fathom) to professional software (R). Based on German income structure data, we will point out benefits and limitations of TinkerPlots, Fathom and R for comparing groups, investigating subgroups, analyzing relationships between variables and for exploring multivariate phenomena.

By creating digital stories people are encouraged to reminisce about events with an impact on their life and personal and professional development. This paper aims to determine nurses’ perspectives regarding a pedagogical tool – Digital StoryTelling (DST). Our qualitative study design used video focus groups involving 20 master students in mental health nursing during the academic year 2020/2021. Students highlighted the creative content of digital stories and their potential to develop self-awareness, socio-emotional regulation and interpersonal relationships. With regard to the barriers, the scarce digital literacy and the difficulty in putting emotion in the content of the stories stand out. Thus, a more individualized follow-up will be necessary, to help students. Further research may benefit from exploring how the needs of more diverse groups of users could be met through the DST tool.

The starting point of the paper is the idea that modern challenges and tendencies within institutional preschool education might be responded to by considering the implicit pedagogy domains, which include the institutional context, the educator-child interaction, interaction among children, and (self-)reflection during the process of professional development and educator’s autonomy. An overview of the conducted action research aimed at encouraging friendship among preschoolers in institutional context is provided. Initial values of the research are the following components of children’s friendship: empathy, compassion, self-confidence, fairness, communication, ability to solve conflicts, group harmonization, sharing, and cooperation. In a broad sense, the research problem is triggered by the issues in education which bring about social changes in the permissive consumer society. The subject of the research is the improvement of relationships among children and their peer status in an educational group. The study lasted for six months and covered eight educational groups and sixteen educators. The intention was to create a stimulating environment for friendship development and help the educators reflect on their practices by covering 19 activities referring to social and emotional aspects of children’s development and education. The findings of the continuous monitoring of the action research suggest that children had high scores in friendship tests; the unsociable children who had a negative peer status in socio-metric studies managed to increase their peer status; and, finally, the group cohesion improved and professional competencies of the educators enhanced.

Introduction. The development of measures aimed at promoting sustainable socio-economic development requires a comprehensive analysis of health status in a working population, including the terms of occupational morbidity (OM). The emergence of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 constitutes grounds for special attention to the most vulnerable professional groups – health care and social services workers (HSW). The study goal: to analyze the structure and rates of occupational morbidity in Russia for the period from 2010 to 2020, with particular attention to the area of health care and social services. Methods. The structure of occupational morbidity by the types of economic activity and depending on harmful factors in Russia were analyzed according to Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Labour data, 2010-2020. The OM rates in HSW were calculated and analyzed. Results. In the OM structure, the share of HSW increased to 20,2% in 2020. An increase of the share of biological factors was also noted. The OM rate among HSW sharply rose in 2020 and was almost 7 times higher than in 2019. Conclusion. The noted changes are associated with COVID-19 pandemic. A sharp increase in OM of HSW indicates a high risk of medical personnel professional health loss which requires further careful analysis of their health status.

It is a set on the basis of theoretical researchers, that the modern specialist of the sphere of «Man-Man», except the certain volume of professional abilities and knowledge, must own personality-mature qualities: to show readiness for self-development and self-perfection; make a decision on their own; have their own system of values and be able to correlate their own vital persuasions with the senses and stereotypes of society. For this reason, development of their tolerance as a constituent of professionalism is important in the professional preparation of specialists of socio-economic professions. Tolerance is not just a tolerance for others' thoughts, beliefs and behaviour, it is a purposeful effort on the part of the individual to create an information space that promotes harmony, interpersonal cooperation, emotional tact and respect. The empirical study involved 40 second-year students, including psychology students and foreign language teachers. The psychodiagnostic complex of methods presented in the article made it possible to obtain reliable research results. A comparative analysis of respondents' indicators showed that «tolerance» as a personal quality is significant for both groups. It is stated that psychology students are more tolerant of representatives of different social strata, while foreign language students are tolerant of ethnic minorities. The study found that future psychologists seeking to assert their beliefs and considerations, if the situation becomes conflictual, can be harsh. Future teachers are more critical of themselves and their opinions, showing tact and understanding to manifest «paradoxical» actions, even if they do not agree with them. The overall tolerance index of the two groups under study indicates that their behaviour and attitudes towards the world, people and events will depend on the particular social situation they are currently in.

The University of A Coruña is partner of the GRAZELIFE LIFE preparatory project (LIFE 18 PRE/NL002). We contributed to the main aim of the project of promoting sustainable grazing by large herbivores, with the study of the particular case of Galician wild ponies as a natural grazing semi-wild land use model, and alternative land uses of short and long-term afforestation, extensive grazing and abandonment. We selected two sub-areas in Galicia representing different situations in dominant land uses and the wild ponies’ system. Xistral, in the north, is a protected Natura 2000 site covered by wet heaths and bogs, ponies are owned by commoners that are mainly cattle farmers. Groba, in the south, is a drier area with dominance of forestry use and high frequency of wildfires, where ponies are owned by non-professional farmers. We performed twenty personal semi-structured interviews with pony owners, land owners and related experts from different sectors (afforestation, tourism, conservation NGOs), and performed two focus groups. We discussed topics such as their relation with ponies, the challenges they face, their demands and feelings on the policies, including CAP subsidies or compensations for wolf attacks, and their expectations for the future. In the field, we selected representative stands of each land use model in each sub-area and performed a systematic record of plant species, measures of plant biomass, and collected soil samples. Measures were used as proxies of biodiversity changes, carbon storage and wildfire risk, to compare between the selected models.

Short-term rentals mediated by digital platforms have positive and negative impacts that are unevenly distributed among socio-economic groups and places. Detrimental impacts on the housing market and quality of life of long-term residents have been particular contentious in some cities. • In the 12 cities studied in the report (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Prague, Rome and Vienna), city governments have responded differently to the growth of short-term rentals. • The emerging local regulations of short-term rentals take multiple forms and exhibit various degrees of stringency, ranging from rare cases of laissez-faire to a few cases of partial prohibition or strict quantitative control. Most city governments have sought to find a middle-ground approach that differentiates between the professional rental of whole units and the occasional rental of one’s home/ primary residence. • The regulation of short-term rentals is contentious and highly politicised. Six broad categories of interest groups and non-state actors actively participate in the debates with contrasting positions: advocates of the ‘sharing’ or ‘collaborative’ economy; corporate platforms; professional organisatons of short-term rental operators; new associations of hosts or ‘home-sharers’; the hotel and hospitality industry; and residents’ associations/citizens’ movements. • All city governments face difficulties in implementing and enforcing the regulations, due to a lack of sufficient resources and to the absence of accurate and comprehensive data on individual hosts. That data is held by corporate platforms, which have generally not accepted to release it (with a few exceptions) nor to monitor the content of their listings against local rules. • The relationships between platforms and city governments have oscillated between collaboration and conflict. Effective implementation is impossible without the cooperation of platforms. • In the context of the European Union, the debate has taken a supranational dimension, as two pieces of EU law frame the possibility — and acceptable forms — of regulation of online platforms and of short-term rentals in EU member states: the 2000 E-Commerce Directive and the 2006 Services Directive. • For regulation to be effective, the EU legal framework should be revised to ensure platform account- ability and data disclosure. This would allow city (and other ti ers of) governments to effectively enforce the regulations that they deem appropriate. • Besides, national and regional governments, who often control the legislative framework that defines particular types of short-term rentals, need to give local governments the necessary tools to be able to exercise their ‘right to regulate’ in the name of public interest objectives.

The article considers the history, thematic range of expression and a number of authors and publicists of the newspaper «Christian Voice» (with the frequency of a fortnightly). It has been published in Munich by nationally conscious groups of migrants since 1949 as a part of the «Ukrainian Christian Publishing House». The significance of this Ukrainian newspaper in post-Nazi Germany is only partly comprehended in the works of a number of diaspora press’s researchers. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to supplement the scientific information about the «Christian Voice» in the postwar period, in particular, the yearbook for 1957 was chosen as the principal subject of analysis. In the process of writing the article, we used such methods: analysis, synthesis, content analysis, generalization and others. Thus, the results of our study became the socio-political and religious context in which the «Christian Voice» was founded. The article is also a concise overview of the titles of Ukrainian magazines in post-Nazi Germany in the 1940s and 1950s. The thematic analysis of publications of 1957 showed the main trends of journalistic texts in the newspaper and the journalistic skills of it’s iconic authors and publicists (D. Buchynsky, M. Bradovych, S. Shah, etc.). The thematic range of the newspaper after 1959 was somewhat narrowed due to the change in the status of the «Christian Voice» when it became the official newspaper of the UGCC in Germany. It has been distinguished two main thematic blocks of the newspaper ‒ social and religious. Historians will find interesting factual material from the newspaper publications about the life of Ukrainians in the diaspora. Historians of journalism can supplement the bibliographic apparatus in the journalistic and publicistic works of the authors in the postwar period of the newspaper and in subsequent years of publishing. Based upon the publications of the «Christian Voice» in different years, not only since 1957, journalists can study the contents and a form of different genres, linguistic peculiarities in the newspaper articles, and so on.

The 21st century has witnessed a significant shift in how the concept of nationalism is understood. A political marriage between identity politics and populism has resulted in “civilizationism,” a new form of nationalism that entails an emotionally charged division of society into “the people” versus “the Other.” All too often, the divisive discourses and policies associated with civilizationalist populism produce intercommunal conflict and violence. This paper draws on a salient case study, India’s Hindutva movement, to analyze how mainstream populist political parties and grassroots organizations can leverage civilizationist populism in campaigns to mobilize political constituencies. In surveying the various groups within the Hindutva movement and conducting a discourse analysis of their leaders’ statements, the paper shows the central role of sacralized nostalgia, history, and culture in Hindutva populist civilizationism. By analyzing the contours and socio-political implications of civilizationist populism through this case study, the paper contributes to the theoretical understanding of the concept more generally.

Violent conflicts and crime have reached new heights in Nigeria, as cases of kidnapping, armed banditry, and communal unrests continue to tear at the core of the ethnoreligious divides in the country. Southern Kaduna has witnessed a virulent spree of communal unrest in northern Nigeria over the last decade due to its polarized politics and power differentials between the various groups in the area, particularly the Christians and Muslims, who are almost evenly split. In response to their experiences of violence, the people of that region have also shown incredible resilience and grit in transforming their stress and suffering. This policy note focuses on the transformative practices of the Fulani and other ethnic communities in southern Kaduna in terms of how they problem-solve deep-seated socio-political rivalries and violent relations by working through their shared identity, history, and cultures of peace. The note explores how peace practitioners and donor agencies could consolidate local practices of sustaining peace as complementary or alternative resources to the state’s liberal system.

At the start of the last decade, United Cities and Local Governments’ (UCLG) policy paper on Decentralised Cooperation and Local Government laid out a clear rationale for decentralised cooperation and set out recommendations to the prevalent tackle weaknesses of international development cooperation and to strengthen development effectiveness. In many ways, the paper was a forerunner in calling for stronger sustained support for South-South development cooperation particularly among countries that have undergone similar socio-economic challenges so that learnings can be shared across partners. It laid emphasis on professional structures and programme-based approaches, with clear monitoring and evaluation tools and indicators on impact and called for a sharing of objectives across local and regional governments, and their associations, committed to continuing improvement, learning and exchange. These recommendations have helped strengthen international decentralised cooperation over the past decade, and their core principles continue to be highly relevant today. In 2021, the Institute of Development Studies, UK, with support of the UCLG Capacity and Institution Building Working Group (CIB), has engaged a wide range of member governments, associations, and networks, alongside a range of external commentators and experts, to assess UCLG principles, priorities, and actions in the context of contemporary global challenges and the resulting landscape of decentralised development cooperation. Following a series of survey-based, individual, case study, and workshop interactions, the study presents key points and recommendations.

The article reveals and characterizes the methodological features of teaching the discipline «Intellectual and Psychological Foundations of Mass Media Functioning» on the third year of the Faculty of Journalism at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The focus is on the principles, functions, and standards of journalistic creativity during the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. As the Russian genocidal, terrorist, and ecocidal war has posed acute challenges to the education and upbringing of student youth. A young person is called not only to acquire knowledge but to receive them simultaneously with comprehensive national, civic, and moral-spiritual upbringing. Teaching and educating students, the future journalists, on Ukrainian-centric, nation-building principles ensure a sense of unity between current socio-political processes and historical past, and open an intellectual window to Ukraine’s future. The teaching of the course ‘Intellectual-Psychological Foundations of Mass Media Functioning’ (lectures and practical classes, creative written assignments) is grounded in the philosophy of national education and upbringing, aimed at shaping a citizen-patriot and a knight, as only such a citizen is capable of selfless service to their own people, heroic struggle for freedom, and the united Ukrainian national state. The article presents student creative works, the aim of which is to develop historical national memory in students, promote the ideals of spiritual unity and integrity of Ukrainian identity, nurture the life-sustaining values of the Ukrainian language and culture, perpetuate the symbols of statehood, and strengthen the moral dignity and greatness of Ukrainian heroism. A methodology for assessing students’ pedagogical-professional competence and the fairness of teachers who deliver lectures and conduct practical classes has been summarized. The survey questions allow students to express their attitudes towards the content, methods, and forms of the educational process, which involves the application of experience from European and American countries, but the main emphasis is on the application of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy. Its defining ideas are democracy, populism, and patriotism, enriched with a distinct nation-building potential, which instills among students a unique culture of genuine Ukrainian history, the Ukrainian language and literature, national culture, and high journalistic professionalism. Key words: educator, student, journalism, education, patriotism, competence, national consciousness, Russian-Ukrainian war, professionalism.

The policy review is part of the project EQualCare: Alone but connected? Digital (in)equalities in care work and generational relationships among older people living alone, a three-year international project involving four countries: Finland, Germany, Latvia and Sweden. EQualCare interrogates inequalities by gender, cultural and socio-economic background between countries, with their different demographics and policy backgrounds. As a first step into empirical analysis, the policy review aims to set the stage for a better understanding of, and policy development on, the intersections of digitalisation with intergenerational care work and care relationships of older people living alone in Germany. The policy review follows a critical approach, in which the problems policy documents address are not considered objective entities, but rather discursively produced knowledge that renders visible some parts of the problem which is to be solved as other possible perspectives are simultaneously excluded. Twenty publicly available documents were studied to analyse the processes in which definitions of care work and digital (in)equalities are circulated, translated and negotiated between the different levels of national government, regional governments and municipalities as well as other agencies in Germany. The policy review consists of two parts: a background chapter providing information on the social structure of Germany, including the historical development of Germany after the Second World War, its political structure, information on the demographic situation with a focus on the 60+ age group, and the income of this age group. In addition, the background presents the structure of work and welfare, the organisation of care for old people, and the state of digitalisation in Germany. The analysis chapter includes a description of the method used as well as an overview of the documents chosen and analysed. The focus of this chapter is on the analysis of official documents that deal with the interplay of living alone in old age, care, and digitalisation. The analysis identified four themes: firstly, ageing is framed largely as a challenge to society, whereas digitalisation is framed as a potential way to tackle social challenges, such as an ageing society. Secondly, challenges of ageing, such as need of care, are set at the individual level, requiring people to organise their care within their own families and immediate social networks, with state support following a principle of subsidiarity. Thirdly, voluntary peer support provides the basis for addressing digital support needs and strategies. Publications by lobby organisations highlight the important work done by voluntary peer support for digital training and the benefits this approach has; they also draw attention to the over-reliance on this form of unpaid support and call for an increase in professional support in ensuring all older people are supported in digital life. Fourthly, ageing as a hinderance to participation in digital life is seen as an interim challenge among younger old people already online.
