Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the microshear bond strength of adhesive systems to bovine enamel surfaces previously submitted, or not, to bleach treatment with carbamide peroxide gel (Opalescence PF), in different concentrations (10%, 15% and 20%). The flat enamel surfaces of 56 bovine incisors were randomly divided in 14 groups. G. 01: cylinders made with Single Bond adhesive system (SB) and Z-250 composite (C) (control); G. 02: cylinders made with Clearfil SE Bond (CF) adhesive system and Z-250 (C) (control); G. 03: bleaching treatment with Opalescence PF (Op) 10% and cylinders made with SB and C, 12 hours after finishing the bleach regimen; G. 04: bleaching treatment with Op 15% and cylinders made according to 03; G. 05: bleaching treatment with Op 20% and cylinders made according to 03; G. 06: bleaching treatment with Op 10% and cylinders made with CF and C, 12 hours after finishing the bleach regimen; G. 07: bleaching treatment with Op 15% and cylinders made according to 06; G. 08: bleaching treatment with Op 20% and cylinders made according to 06; G. 09: bleaching treatment with Op 10% and cylinders made with SB and C, 01 week after finishing the bleach regimen; G. 10: bleaching treatment with Op 15% and cylinders made according to 09; G. 11: bleaching treatment with Op 20% and cylinders made according to 09; G. 12: bleaching treatment with Op 10% and cylinders made with CF and C, 01 week after finishing the bleach regimen; G. 13: bleaching treatment with Op 15% and cylinders made according to 12; G. 14: bleaching treatment with Op 20% and cylinders made according to 12. The specimens from groups 03 to 14 were bleached during 02 weeks, 08 hours/day, placed in individualized trays. During the remaining daily 16 hours, teeth were immersed in artificial saliva. Before microshear tests, the samples were stored in distilled water at 37 o C, for 24 hours. The results showed that bond strengths of groups 03, 04, 05 and 06, 07, 08 were statistically lower (p<0,05) when compared with their respective control group (01 or 02). For the all-etch adhesive system, the bond strength of the cylinders placed 01 week after the end of bleaching regimen, independent of the carbamide peroxide gel concentration, showed no significant differences (p>0,05) when compared with their respective control group and tended to be higher when compared with groups where adhesion were made 12 hours after the end of the bleaching treatment, with the same adhesive system. However, in absolute terms, the recuperation of the bond strength were incomplete (p<0,05). For the self-etch adhesive system, the bond strength of the cylinders placed 01 week after the end of bleaching regimen, independent of the carbamide peroxide gel concentration, showed no significant differences (p>0,05) when compared with their respective control group, recovering the bond strength values obtained when cylinders were made 12 hours after the end of the bleach regimen.

Повний текст джерелаThis in vitro study aimed to evaluate the occurrence of surface changes in three commercially available resin composites when subjected to polishing treatments and bicarbonate jet. The changes were quantified through roughness analysis and qualified by scanning electron microscopy. We tested three composites: nanoparticulated Z350 (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, USA), microhybrid Z250 (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, USA) e microparticuladed Durafill (Heraeus Kulzer, Germany). For each resin were prepared fifteen test specimens with the aid of a stainless steel matrix with 7mm diameter and 3 mm thick and photoactivated in two increments following the manufacturer\'s instructions. The specimens were kept in water at 37 ° C for 24 hours. Then were divided into three groups according to protocols being evaluated finishing and polishing polishing tips with Enhance ® + PoGo (Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany), tips Astropol (Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan, Lienchtenstein) and Sof Lex Pop On disks (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, USA). All specimens were subjected to thermal cycling 5-55 ° C with a soak time of 1 minute per 1000 cycles. After cycling the specimens underwent bicarbonate jet (Ortusonic Ortus equipment, Campo Mourao, Parana, Brazil) for 30 seconds. The surface roughness was evaluated with the aid of a machine rugosimeter (Mitutoyo Mitutoyo SJ-201P Tokyo, Japan) in three stages, with the first reading, baseline, performed 24 hours after the making of the specimens. The second, after polishing the samples and the third, after prophylaxis with bicarbonate jet. The roughness was measured at five different locations on each specimen. The results were analyzed taking into account the average roughness (Ra) in micrometers (mm). Later analyzes were performed by scanning electron microscope. According to the methodology, it is concluded that the resin with the highest surface roughness was microparticulated (Durafill), the lowest roughness was observed in nanoparticled composites (Z350) and microhybrid (Z250). The Sof Lex Pop On disks and tips Enhance and PoGo produced smoother surfaces than polishing system with tips Astropol, these results can be confirmed with the analysis in Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).

Повний текст джерелаCancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, and malignant neoplasms of the lung, stomach, liver, colon and breast in greater numbers. And recently observed in the literature a large number of reviews where new materials, especially nanoparticle, has been studied as drug carriers and radioisotopes applied to cancer treatment. How mesoporous materials based on silica, thanks to its huge surface area and biocompatibility, have been studied intensively providing broad applications in various areas, the use of nanostructured silica SBA-16 might be a carrier specific radioisotope accumulate in the cells malignant. Thus the aim of this study is to develop in vitro studies using SBA-16 can selectively concentrate in malignant cells therapeutic amounts of the radioisotope Gadolinium-159 escorting them to death. This work was performed orderly synthesis of mesoporous silica, SBA-16 and incorporating the complex Gd-DTPA-BMA, as well as chemical and structural characterization. The techniques used to analyze the occurrence of the incorporation of the gadolinium complex in the silica matrix were elemental analysis (CHN), atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nitrogen adsorption (BET), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). To analyze the morphology of pure silica used the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). By photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) it was possible to obtain a measure of mean particle size, the polydispersity index (PDI) of the silica SBA-16, and the zeta potential by laser Doppler anemometry (LDA). The results of incorporation analyzed by ICP-AES indicated that the material SBA-16 had a higher rate of incorporation of gadolinium (93%). The release kinetics in simulated body fluid, showed considerable stability and low release (1%). The mesoporous silica SBA-16 showed cell viability in direct contact with cell culture. Samples with gadolinium incorporated in the silica matrix after irradiation showed no significant cytotoxic activity, implying that these studies should improved so that more research in nanobiotechnology are performed.

The focus of research into this area is caused by the considerable advantages that the use of materials from mechanical performance ratio / weight loss in the search for high performance sports applications and reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions in transports. The study of composite materials is characterized by the peculiarity of not being able to separate the design of the part geometry from that of the material and process, and in this sense in the figure of the designer is going to summarize synergistically skills on the three areas. The purpose of this work is the proposition of a methodology of design and production of structural components which allows optimum utilization of the fibrous nature of the composite material both from the point of view of the transfer of loads between different components, both from the point of view of the rolling process which takes place by taping automated. The study is intended to show in what way this technology has the potential to overcome the constraints of the form and the limits of mechanical efficiency of the junctions between the parties and to ensure higher productivity and lower costs to comply with different production methods, which have become the state of industrialization in medium to large series. Particular attention will be placed on the use of the technology being studied for the production of automotive frames.
