This thesis is about two french contemporary writters : Michel Houellecq and Phillipe Djian. A comparative study of their work, mostly based on the notion of renunciation, shows an unexpected modality of intertextuality : a restrictive intertextuality. Michel Houellebecq's influence on Philippe Djian leads to the progressive erasure of an original singularity, replaced by a radically opposed vision of the world which contradicts the initial ambition : in these conditions, the intertextuality appears to be constraining

Studies have shown that Tibetan nuns are faced with discrimination in many areas: they are not represented in the clerical hierarchy, do not benefit from the same economic advantages as monks and, until recently, most only had access to very basic education. Consequently they occupy a subordinate place in the Tibetan monastic system. Hence, how can we explain the fact that so many women are drawn to monastic life today? This thesis, based on an ethnological study of two nunneries — one situated inside Tibet (Minyag) and the other in the exiled Tibetan community in India — explores current changes and seeks to understand the surge in female monasticism that has accompanied the religious revival since the end of the Cultural Revolution. Using anthropological as well as tibetological methodology, the results are presented in three parts. The first is dedicated to the history of female monasticism: its foundations, institutions and nuns, including events that have occurred since the occupation of Tibet by China. The second part depicts the current monastic lifestyle: its organization and the nuns’ religious as well as non-religious activities. In the last part, the reasons driving girls to commit to this singular lifestyle are examined, as well as their integration into the monastic community. Finally, I analyze why some of these women do not remain as nuns for their entire lives

Dejours, Roxane. "Classes préparatoires, grandes écoles et entrée dans l'âge adulte : entre renoncement pulsionnel et sexualité." Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016USPCB062.
From a longitudinal study, conducted among 51 students of preparatory classes, and based on annual clinical interviews and on the award of projective tests (Rorschach and TAT), this thesis aims to study the links constructed by young adults with work in preparatory class and French "Grandes Écoles" from two perspectives: subjective springs of engagement in the preparatory program on the one hand, the possible consequences of this course for their mental functioning on the other hand. If heterogeneity that emerges from the exploration of their mental functioning makes impossible the definition of a "personality type" specific presiding over this commitment, the elements from the longitudinal follow are rather more significant. They confront us in particular to the issue of the student's active submission to the institution's requirements and their progressive standardization. Enabled by a paradoxical alliance between sublimation and defensive strategies based on the stopping of thought and splitting, this process is becoming increasingly important as they adapt to work constraints of preparatory classes and French Grandes Ecoles. Those latter have the main aim to prepare students to assume a senior manager position in firms, and the results of this research tend more widely to bring out the close links between the new forms of work organization in the world productive work and psychic transformations made during the course [preparatory classe- French Grande École]. Recalling also the essential role played by sexuality or, more specifically, infantile sexuality both in the relation of the subject to the world that in the links between men, they underline the importance for the humanities, putting into perspective of psychic reality with the social field
Murcia, Thierry. "Jésus dans la littérature talmudique." Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012AIXM3076.
This study presents a survey and a systematic analysis of the passages of Talmudic literature (Mishna – Tosefta – Palestinian Talmud – Babylonian Talmud – Midrashim), relative to Jesus or are supposed to be. The documents are examined, criticized and confronted to other sources of Jewish or Christian origin (Hellenistic Jewish literature, Jewish Apocrypha, rabbinic sources, Targumim, Toledot Yeshu – New Testament, Apostolic Fathers, Church Fathers). The investigation tries to answer to several questions: - What did the rabbis exactly know about Jesus? - Has their information any historical value? - Has their perception undergone some evolution? - Did the rabbis of the Talmud have access to the Gospels as a written source? The conclusion of this thesis is that all these documents are rooted in their Sitz im leben. They obviously attest – contra Peter Schäfer (Jesus in the Talmud, 2007) – that the rabbis had no direct acquaintance with the Gospels as written documents. This study also shows, concerning the Babylonian Talmud, that all the passages relative to Jesus belong to the last editorial layer of this corpus (VIIe-VIIIe century)
Eluther, Ena. "L'africanité dans la littérature caribéenne." Thesis, Le Mans, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013LEMA3001.
Can the africanity of caribbean cultures come down to distant survivals, or constitute the foundation of these cultures ? Literature, as a mirror of peoples, as a painting of cultures, as art, allows to perceive the cultural and literary continuity between the african continent and its caribbean diaspora. The comparison of english-speaking and french-speaking novels from the Caribbean and from West Africa and Central Africa shows common cultural features and literary topoi from one area to the other : colonial trauma, protection and adaptation of ancestral legacy, common spiritual values, linguistic problematics, paintings of resistance struggles in which the writer himself is in the frontline. This comparative study, which sometimes draws from caribbean and african oral literature, as from caribbean spanish-speaking literature, suggests that one should view the afro-caribbean cultural expressions as an extension of african cultural expressions, offering in this way a large panorama of the cultural and literary black world. From 1921 to the early years 2000, this analysis takes into account the changes of african and caribbean literatures and the societies they represent. Have the changes definitively broken the african civilizational unity, the cultural links between Africa and the Americas ? On the contrary, the reading of the novels of the corpus shows an homogeneous and coherent picture of cultural and literary expressions of Africa and its caribbean diaspora, so doing putting Africa back into the center of caribbean culture
Masset, Danièle. "Les oiseaux ne laissent pas de traces dans le ciel : images de la nature dans la poésie bouddhique indo-tibétaine." Paris, INALCO, 2004. http://www.theses.fr/2004INAL0006.
The notion of nature does not exist in Indian thinking. It refers to a variety of manifestations which, as samsaric phenomena, cannot constitute the favourite subject matter of a literature the aim of which is to incite to detachment from the world's illusory beauties. However, it is not pointless to study the various 'images of nature' operating in Buddhists writings. The present thesis focuses on works of poetry, more specifically on a few representative samples of an evolution covering over two thousand years : gÁthÁ of the Pali canon, Sanskrit writings by Aƒvagho♭a or MÁtc͏̈ea, mahÁsiddha songs and Tibetan mystical songs. The writings in the present corpus stage a nature conceived of in terms of both religious and literary conventions - commonplaces peculiar to India or Tibet, sometimes migrating from India to Tibet, precepts of morality, and laws about spatial distribution which are intimately related to a world-view of renunciation. Nature is viewed through the looking-glass of conventions, but it also constitutes a mirror of world and doctrine through figures in which its components - beings and elements - perform as comparants. It this is the source of images. Both 'ornamental' and 'fundamental' , there are the concrete illustration of the relative abstracts truths taught by Buddha. These truths have been transmitted with great fidelity since the ancient writings, no matter their occasionally being subjected to reinterpretations linked to the ideological changes and transformations in sensibility that Buddhism has undergone
