The carriage driving is growing. Currently, the expertise of this discipline stays in the hands of some leaders. Yet the renewal for this activity requires to train a more important number of leaders being careful to propose an offer of modern and quality training. Furthermore, it turns out that the carriage driving is a complex and difficult activity to teach. It is in a renovated environment of training that joins this research. The leaders-trainers beside researchers see again their teaching methods, test new tools, try to establish a cohesion in the progress between both schools in charge of long trainings. They need to know the effects of this new environment of learning on the leaders-trainees. The objective of the research is to quantify the efficiency of an innovative method of learning in the field of the carriage drinving to be able to generalize it in other domains. The objectives of this thesis are at the same time to grow up the research and to act on the field. It will be a question of understanding better the processes of development of the skills in the carriage drinving to ensure that the created various tools and situations of trainings correspond to it. This research with comprehensive and transformative aims will lean on an ethnographical survey, an in situ annual report, explicitations interviews and autoconfrontation interviews. On the basis of these data, the analyse of “cours d’action” (Theureau, 2004) novice leaders in simulation and training situation on the field will be led to reconstruct and model the typical dimensions in their activity of learning – development. This research joins in a balance between three fields: the use of the video viewing in vocational training, the exploitation of the environments simulators and practical situations.The analysis of the “courses of life related to the project of training to the driving of the harnessed horses” allowed to track the processes of appropriation and silent transformations influencing the trajectories of the co-leaders trainees. First, this research has confirmed the thesis that learning transfers are emerging within the activity of trainees. Secondly, this research has shown that the whole driving training environment is better conceived as an organisation in which what transforms the activity of trainees is the meaning that flows between experiences. Our results invite to continue research on the activity of trainees interacting with real and simulated contexts in order to specify the phenomena that contribute to the enrichment of the creations of meaning

Type1 diabetes (T1D) is an immune disease characterized by the destruction of the beta cells of the pancreas responsible for the production of insulin, a hormone that plays a primary role in blood glucose regulation. People with T1D are faced with daily challenges of optimization since they require multiple daily infusions of optimal insulin doses. One of the major disturbances of glycemic control is physical activity. Despite its benefits, exercise is usually associated with higher risks of low glucose levels. The fear of hypoglycemia results in either avoidance of engaging in a physical activity or over- compensatory treatment behaviors that lead to a worse metabolic control.This dissertation project focuses on enabling physical activity for T1DM patients by generating real time feedback of the current risks associated with exercise and advising on insulin dose adjustments and carbohydrate intakes.Using linear statistics techniques, we identified the major factors predictive of the post exercise glycemic response in a relatively large dataset of T1D patients. Based on this analysis, we developed a classification method able to warn T1D patients in advance of a high risk for hypoglycemia associated with physical activity, potentially allowing patients to delay exercise or take preventive actions.The linear statistical models were the foundation in the design and implementation of a decision support system (DSS) for people with T1D to safely engage in a physicalactivity. The DSS has built-in optimized strategies to mitigate the risk of exercise- induced low glucose levels. The system has been validated in the University of Virginia/University of Padova FDA approved T1D simulator and will be deployed in clinical trials in the near future

In this dissertation we study the impact of international macro-economic and monetary elements on primary commodity prices of the last two decades. Four principal variables are retained and analyzed: the world’s economic activity, the real exchange rate of the dollar, the real interest rate and the anticipated future profits of stocks. At first, we examine the statistical relationships between these four factors and primary commodity prices. We justify then the theoretical interests we can get from these four variables in the explanation of the strong fluctuation of commodity prices. An intertemporal dynamic model in reduced form is formulated. It reflects two major sets of forces related to the changes of international economic environment and to the strong development of future operations that have impinged upon world commodity markets since the beginning of the seventies. The interest and the applicability of this model are examined in application to commodity prices in groups from 1960 to 1990: the economic activity of seven industrial countries and the variations of the real exchanges rate of the dollar have a good explanation for the fluctuations of commodity prices; the influence of anticipated future gains of stocks, via the behavior patterns of storage are also confirmed by economic results; the effects of interest rate are only significant for the prices of minerals, metals and tropical beverages. This result is not a surprise due to the difficulties to quantify the complex and multiple effects of interest rate on prices. Furthermore, our econometric results suggest that economic growth in seven developed countries must, on average, be over 7 percent a year to contribute positively to commodity prices by offering negative longer-term structural changes

The historical stability of schools seems to have resisted changes in society, particularly those linked to digital transformation. However, schools have not remained aloof from digital technology: several plans to bring digital technology into schools have been rolled out since the 1970s. Nevertheless, the structure of the school has hardly changed and the socio-historical configuration that spatially organises teaching work does not appear to have been altered by the use of digital tools (Tardif & Lessard, 1999). The research presented here takes place in a specific context: Collège-Lab experimentation. We are seeking to identify and understand the possible effects on teaching work of the introduction and use of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) digital tools, and to analyse the potential transformations in teaching work, in particular on the teacher's workspace. The 'question of space', as addressed by Thémines (2018), was therefore our guiding thread. The contributions of the activity clinic (Clot, 1999) and certain concepts of social geography, such as inhabiting and the teacher workspace, combined with a composite data collection method, contribute to an understanding of the spatial dimension of teaching work

This thesis in Cognitics presents a Human Centered Design approach for thedevelopment of future driving assistance systems dedicated to elderly drivers orElderly Adapted Driver Assistance Systems (E-ADAS).To do so, this work relies on a multi-disciplinary approach for data collection andanalysis. Regarding Ergonomics, the aim is to better understand the specificrequirements of this population in order to identify their actual difficulties and actualneeds of assistance. In this frame, 76 drivers (aged from 70 to 87 years old) took partto an on-the-road experiment, driving an instrumented car. The dataset includes2100 km of ecological driving data and 1400 auto-evaluated driving situations,completed by 6 Focus Groups (involving 30 elderly drivers).The second part of this research, relying on Cognitive Engineering, explores thedesign and implementation of monitoring functions based on the aforementioneddataset. The objective is to have real-time models and analytical functions, able to:(1) supervise the driving activity as realized by an elderly driver, (2) taking in toconsideration the driving context or situational risks (3) in order to detect difficulties ordriving errors. Beyond this thesis, these diagnostics will have to be integrated inassistive systems to better adapt their support to the specific needs of elderly drivers.Specific monitoring functions related to basic vehicle control (speed management,lane positioning and headway regulation) are presented. Based on these results,integrated monitoring functions for intersection crossings in Left-Turn manoeuver,highway merging assistance, and, more broadly, lane change assistance areintroduced

This dissertation discusses the contract inspection service of federal public universities established in the state of São Paulo. Contract inspectors have the responsibility of ensuring compliance with administrative contracts concluded between outsourced companies and universities, through monitoring and inspection. In this context, the purpose of this study is to identify the impacts that the discrepancy between the prescribed and actual work causes to the contract inspectors. To do so, a qualitative research was used, based on a multicaso study delineated by the Activity Ergonomics, in which interviews were applied to fourteen employees from three universities. The results indicate the specificities and the difficulties of the work, investigating the discrepancies between the prescribed and actual work, as well as the impacts that are related to the physical environment, intellectual challenges imposed by the work, control of the emotions, pressures for compliance in the deadlines and administration of conflicts. It was possible to raise and analyze the risks of illness, as well as the strategies adopted to combat illness. However, as they occur individually, they do not lead to a change in the organization of work. With the help of the validation of the results it was possible to make some notes for improvements. In addition, the research points out possibilities to promote restructurings in the current organizational system in order to value human and behavioral development as a perspective in the creation, implantation and dissemination of organizational practices that reconcile productivity and the revitalization of the one who produces, increasing commitment and organizational links.
Esta disertación discute el servicio de fiscalización de contratos de universidades públicas federales establecidas en el estado de São Paulo. Los fiscales de contrato tienen la responsabilidad de garantizar el cumplimiento de los contratos administrativos celebrados entre empresas tercerizadas y las universidades, a través de seguimiento y fiscalización. En este contexto, el objetivo de este estudio es identificar los impactos que la discrepancia entre el trabajo prescrito y real causa a los fiscales de contrato. Para ello, se utilizó una investigación de abordaje cualitativo, con base en un estudio multicaso delineado por la Ergonomía de la Actividad, en el cual se aplicaron entrevistas para catorce funcionarios de tres universidades. Los resultados indican las especificidades y las dificultades del trabajo, investigando las discrepancias entre el trabajo prescrito y real, así como los impactos que están relacionados al ambiente físico, desafíos intelectuales impuestos por el trabajo, control de las emociones, presiones por cumplimiento en los plazos y administración de conflictos. Fue posible levantar y analizar los riesgos de enfermedad, así como las estrategias de combate a la enfermedad adoptada. Sin embargo, como ocurren de manera individual, no llevan al cambio de la organización del trabajo. Con la ayuda de la validación de los resultados fue posible realizar todavía, algunos apuntes para mejoras. Además, la investigación apunta posibilidades para promover reestructuraciones en el actual sistema organizacional por parte de los gestores y autoridades competentes en el sentido de valorar el desarrollo humano y conductual como perspectiva en la creación, implantación y diseminación de prácticas organizacionales que conciliar la productividad y el reconocimiento de aquel que produce, ampliando el compromiso y los vínculos organizacionales.
Esta dissertação discute o serviço de fiscalização de contratos de universidades públicas federais estabelecidas no estado de São Paulo. Os fiscais de contrato têm a responsabilidade de garantir o cumprimento dos contratos administrativos celebrados entre empresas terceirizadas e as universidades, através de acompanhamento e fiscalização. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste estudo é identificar os impactos que a discrepância entre o trabalho prescrito e real causa aos fiscais de contrato. Para tanto, utilizou-se uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, com base em um estudo multicaso delineado pela Ergonomia da Atividade, no qual foram aplicadas entrevistas para quatorze funcionários de três universidades. Os resultados indicam as especificidades e as dificuldades do trabalho, investigando as discrepâncias entre o trabalho prescrito e real, bem como os impactos que estão relacionados ao ambiente físico, desafios intelectuais impostos pelo trabalho, controle das emoções, pressões por cumprimento nos prazos e administração de conflitos. Foi possível levantar e analisar os riscos de adoecimento, bem como as estratégias de combate ao adoecimento adotadas. Porém, como elas ocorrem de maneira individual, não levam à mudança da organização do trabalho. Com a ajuda da validação dos resultados foi possível realizar ainda, alguns apontamentos para melhorias. Além disso, a pesquisa aponta possibilidades para promover reestruturações no atual sistema organizacional por parte dos gestores e autoridades competentes no sentido de valorizar o desenvolvimento humano e comportamental como perspectiva na criação, implantação e disseminação de práticas organizacionais que conciliem a produtividade e o reconhecimento daquele que produz, ampliando o comprometimento e os vínculos organizacionais.
Cette thèse porte sur le service d'inspection des contrats des universités publiques fédérales établies dans l'État de São Paulo. Les inspecteurs du contrat ont la responsabilité d'assurer le respect des contrats administratifs conclus entre les entreprises sous-traitantes et les universités, à travers la surveillance et l'inspection. Dans ce contexte, le but de cette étude est d'identifier les impacts que l'écart entre le travail prescrit et le travail réel entraîne pour les inspecteurs contractuels. Pour ce faire, une recherche qualitative a été utilisée, basée sur une étude multicaso délimitée par l'ergonomie des activités, dans laquelle des entrevues ont été réalisées auprès de quatorze employés de trois universités. Les résultats indiquent les problèmes spécifiques et les difficultés du travail enquêtent sur les écarts entre le travail prescrit et réel, ainsi que les impacts qui sont liés à l'environnement physique, imposée intellectuelle par les défis du travail, le contrôle des émotions, des pressions pour le respect des conditions et de l'administration les conflits. Il a été possible de soulever et d'analyser les risques de maladie, ainsi que les stratégies de lutte contre les maladies adoptées. Cependant, comme ils se produisent individuellement, ils n'entraînent pas de changement dans l'organisation du travail. Avec l'aide de la validation des résultats, il a été possible de prendre quelques notes pour des améliorations. De plus, la recherche montre les possibilités de promouvoir la restructuration dans le système actuel d'organisation par les gestionnaires et les autorités compétentes pour améliorer le développement humain et du comportement en perspective dans la création, la mise en œuvre et la diffusion des pratiques organisationnelles qui combinent la productivité et la reconnaissance qu'ils produit, en augmentant l'engagement et les liens organisationnels.

Headmasters' work has been changing with educational politicies. Headmasters are becoming agents for change or managers in schools wich are independent and under an obligation of results. In France in 2006, headmasters are challenged with the reform of Ambition success networks. An unprecedented situation that raises the question : how to manage heterogeneous teams ? This thesis uses the ergonomic approach to the activity in order to study a paradox : on the one hand, the focus is put on collective work and its impact on performance, on the other hand, the organisation of the work by headmasters and the work of organisation by teachers are ignored. The aim is to show the importance of actual work in order to understand conditions and difficulties of the work of organisation in wich headmasters are engaged.
