Анотація:

Resumo: O estudo se propôs a analisar a importância da utilização das estratégias extramurais para a formação do discente da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade de São Paulo (FOUSP). Trata-se de estudo descritivo, quantitativo, em que os sujeitos de pesquisa foram 400 estudantes. Os dados foram coletados com auxílio de questionário, com questões acerca das estratégias de atividades extramurais, após aprovação do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa. Os resultados mostraram que mais de 80% dos alunos já participaram das atividades extramurais vinculadas a disciplinas e que muitos deles também participaram de atividades extramurais voluntariamente, sendo elas relacionadas aos estágios (25%), às ações de educação e prevenção em projetos sociais (20%), aos projetos de extensão (18%) e ao Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho para a Saúde (8%). Para 34% dos alunos, existe algum grau de dificuldade que limita a participação em atividades de extensão, sendo as mais citadas o difícil deslocamento (33%) e o pouco tempo da grade horária (25%). No que se refere aos alunos do curso noturno, 62% deles concordam que não há nenhum tipo de prejuízo em relação aos alunos do diurno, no tocante às atividades extramurais. Do total de respondentes, 84% reconhecem que tais atividades contribuem para a formação. Conclui-se que as estratégias extramurais, ligadas ou não às disciplinas obrigatórias, revelam-se como importante dispositivo para uma formação condizente com a realidade local e para o desenvolvimento da postura crítica dos futuros profissionais da saúde bucal. Contributions of extramural strategies in the professional formation in dentistry Abstract: The proposal of this study was to analyze the importance of using extramural strategies for the training of students of the Faculty of Dentistry Universidade de São Paulo - FOUSP (São Paulo State, Brazil). The analysis is descriptive and quantitative study counting on the 400 students as research subjects. The data were collected from a questionnaire with questions about the extramural activities strategies, and under the approval of the Ethics Committee of the FOUSP. The results showed that more than 80% of students participated in extramural activities related to disciplines and many of them also participated in extramural activities voluntarily. The activities related the internships corresponded to 25%, educational and preventive activities in social projects corresponded to 20 %, extension projects corresponded to 18% and Education Program for Working for Health - PET, which corresponded to 8%. For 34% of the students, there were difficulties that limited their participation in the activities, mainly due to transportation, which corresponded to 33% and the short time schedule, which corresponded to 25%. Evening students corresponded to 62% of those who agreed that there is not any type of prejudice in relation to the students from the morning period with regards to the extramural activities. From the total number of respondents, 84% recognized that these activities contributed to the formation of the students. The conclusion drawn from his study was that extramural strategies, linked or not to the mandatory courses, are revealed as an important tool for a coherent training according to the local reality and the development of the critical attitude of future professionals of oral health. Contribuciones de estrategias extramurales para la formación en odontología Resumen: En este trabajo se propone presentar una propuesta de un estudio realizado en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de São Paulo (FOUSP - Universidade de São Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil). El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la importancia del uso de las estrategias de extensión universitaria para la formación de los estudiantes de la ya mencionada universidad. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo y cuantitativo, en el cual se recolectaron datos de 400 estudiantes a través de un cuestionario con preguntas sobre las estrategias de actividades extramurales, bajo la aprobación del Comité de Ética de la FOUSP. Los resultados mostraron que más del 80% de los estudiantes ya habían participado de las actividades de extensión universitaria vinculadas a las disciplinas, siendo que muchos de ellos también participaron de actividades extramurales de manera voluntaria, con predominio de aquellas relacionadas con los periodos de prácticas (un 25%), actividades educativas y preventivas en proyectos sociales (un 20%), proyectos de extensión (un 18%) y el Programa de Educación por el Trabajo para la Salud - PET (Programa de Educação Tutorial) (un 8%). Para los 34% de los estudiantes, hay un cierto grado de dificultad que limita la participación en actividades de extensión, sobre todo la dificultad de transporte (un 33%) y el corto tiempo en el horario (un 25%). En cuanto a los estudiantes de las clases nocturnas, el 62% de ellos está de acuerdo en que no haya ningún tipo de perjuicio en relación con los estudiantes del curso diurno con respecto a las actividades extramuros. Del total de los encuestados, el 84% reconoce que estas actividades contribuyen a su formación. Se concluye que las estrategias de extensión universitaria, vinculadas o no a los cursos obligatorios, se revelan como una herramienta importante para una formación coherente con arreglo a la realidad local y al desarrollo de la actitud crítica de los futuros profesionales de la salud oral. Fundamentos e objetivo: O exercício físico é aceito como estratégia complementar no tratamento da hipertensão arterial. Contudo, são poucos os estudos que analisaram o efeito potencial de programas cujo controle do volume de treinamento é menos estrito, principalmente os não-supervisionados. Assim, o estudo investigou os efeitos de dois programas não-formais de exercício sobre a pressão arterial, aptidão física e perfil bioquímico sanguíneo de adultos hipertensos. Métodos: Foram acompanhados por 18 meses participantes um programa de exercícios não-supervisionado (extramuros) (n = 29; idade = 53 ± 11 anos) e outro de tipo comunitário (ginástica) (n = 42; idade = 62 ± 9 anos). Foram analisados os níveis de pressão arterial, aptidão física (peso corporal, percentual de gordura, IMC, somatório de dobras, relação cintura-quadril, capacidade cardiorrespiratória) e variáveis bioquímicas (colesterol total, LDL, HDL, triglicerídeos e glicemia). O programa extramuros consistia em atividades programadas para serem feitas em casa (caminhada e flexibilidade), três vezes por semana, com treinamento dos sujeitos para controle da intensidade e duração das atividades e preenchimento de fichas individuais, que eram entregues periodicamente à equipe de pesquisa. O programa comunitário envolvia atividades ginásticas em grupo, ministradas por profissionais de educação física, também feitas três vezes por semana. Em ambos os programas, as variáveis foram medidas trimestralmente e os dados tratados por meio de ANOVA para medidas repetidas (p < 0,05). Resultados e conclusão: Os resultados indicaram que ambos os programas tiveram efeitos positivos, principalmente na composição corporal (quantitativa e distribuição regional) e perfil lipídico sanguíneo. As repercussões sobre a pressão arterial, apesar de identificadas estatisticamente, revelaram-se menos consistentes. Não houve efeitos importantes sobre o perfil bioquímico sanguíneo. Conclui-se que programas não-formais de atividades físicas podem ter influências benéficas sobre a condição geral de hipertensos, mas seu potencial quanto a efeitos mais específicos deve ser melhor apreciado em estudos futuros.

Como a edição 2016 do Pensacom celebra datas de dois Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação, decidimos verificar como seus pesquisadores têm promovido a construção da Área e dela participado. Pelos Programas da ECA/USP, que celebra 50 anos, e da Universidade Metodista de São Paulo, cujo Doutorado completa 20 anos, buscamos pesquisas e pesquisadores que receberam fomento da FAPESP. Adotamos a pesquisa documental com a Biblioteca Virtual (BV) da FAPESP para chegar às realizações com esse apoio financeiro. Da pesquisa bibliográfica, trazemos a noção de espírito científico, de Gastón Bachelard, por acreditarmos que, a partir do ambiente acadêmico, é que as contribuições devem florescer. Esses momentuns de pesquisa equivalem ao conceito das vivências, postulado por Dilthey (2010). Mesmo com alguns anos de diferença entre um Programa e o outro, percebe-se, em ambos, a preocupação em formar o pesquisador e em estabelecer o diálogo extramuros.

Objective. To conduct a systematic review of reports of pharmacy student research programs that describes the programs and resulting publications or presentations. Methods. To be eligible for the review, reports had to be in English and indicate that students were required to collect, analyze data, and report or present findings. The outcome variables were extramural posters/presentations and publications. Results. Database searches resulted in identification of 13 reports for 12 programs. Two-thirds were reports of projects required for a course or for graduation, and the remaining third were elective (participation was optional). Extramural posters resulted from 75% of the programs and publications from 67%. Conclusion. Although reporting on the outcomes of student research programs is limited, three-quarters of the programs indicated that extramural presentations, publications, or both resulted from student research. Additional research is needed to identify relevant outcomes of student research programs in pharmacy.

Abstract One of the most striking changes in the extramural programs began in the early 1970s. A high-level staff committee chaired by Dr. Theodore Cooper, then Director of the NHLBI, completed its study of the organization and management of the extramural programs. The resulting recommendations were implemented and the structure of the extramural programs was totally revamped. In the context of this chapter, the most relevant recommendations of the Cooper Committee were: (1) The extramural programs in each institute should be organized according to scientific program areas, and (2) the grant and contract mechanisms should be combined under single management within a program area.

Abstract A substantial array of extramural support mechanisms is available covering every stage of the research career spectrum. An overview is provided in this chapter and a brief summary of the various mechanisms included in Appendix 2, along with FY 1991 success rates and average costs per award. There are three major categories of awards, detailed below. Research grants, the largest category, includes awards for a variety of research projects and research training activities. The important features of a grant are: The idea for the research or training project is initiated by the investigator and not by the NIH. In the case of Requests for Applications (RFAs), the NIH identifies the general objective of the solicitation and depends on the creative talent of the principal investigator (Pl) to provide the approaches and meth odology.

Abstract The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the premier biomedical research organization in the world. It serves as the U.S. government’s lead agency in the war on human disease. It carries out its mission of providing leadership and research direction to biomedical research programs through its clinics, in-house laboratory research, and extramural programs. In doing so, NIH is the largest supporter of biomedical research in the country. Of its total budget of over $8 billion in fiscal year (FY) 1991, over 80 percent was allocated for the support of extramural grants and contracts. These are awarded to thousands of institutions and scientists around the world, but mostly in the United States.

Abstract There is an abundance of information about the NIH extramural programs. This chapter makes reference to some but not all available materials. More information can be obtained by contacting an Office of Sponsored Research at your institution, the ICD information offices listed at the end of the chapter, or from the NIH staff. Offices of Sponsored Research, or their equivalent, in applicant institutions can offer a variety of often overlooked services to assist in application submissions and in acquiring helpful information about NIH programs and those of other agencies. Also, the administrators of these offices are usually in a position to refer those seeking support to senior, knowledgeable investigators within the institution who have had experience with the NIH review and award process. These offices usually have application kits, brochures, and other references to federally sponsored programs. The NIH offers a large number of informative publications describing various facets of the extramural programs. The most useful are highlighted below, together with the name of the office to contact to obtain copies. These publications and other sources of information are valuable to either investigators or administrators at institutions competing for grant and contract support.

Abstract Shared responsibility between members of the biomedical research community and NIH staff is an important aspect of the extramural programs and the peer review system. One aspect of this is service by members of the research community on advisory councils and review panels. In addition, many of these individuals are Pis themselves. They and their institutions as applicants share important roles in assur ing the responsible and ethical conduct of research and the training for this, the proper care of human subjects and experimental animals in research protocols, the equitable involvement of minorities and women as subjects in clinical research, and the protection of research personnel and the environment.

Abstract During the mid-to-late 1980s the Developmental Therapeutics Program (DTP) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) dramatically revamped its approach to the discovery of new leads for antitumour agents (Boyd 1986, 1989, 1993; Boyd et al. 1992). The essential starting point of this new strategy was the primary screen. In vivo testing with murine leukaemia models gave way to in vitro screening against human solid tumour cell lines. Concurrently, the mounting AIDS crisis and the urgent need for AIDS-antiviral chemotherapeutic agents led to an extension of this programme to include a search for novel anti-HIV compounds (Boyd 1988). The screening protocols for these tandem efforts had to be amenable to high throughput and had to accommodate both pure compounds and complex crude extracts (Boyd 1986, 1988, 1989, 1993; Boyd eta/. 1992). These screens are now operated on a large scale by the DTP/NCI extramural service screening programme for the annual testing of tens of thousands of synthetic and natural compounds submitted annually to the NCI by academic and industrial investigators from all over the globe.

Анотація:

Introdução: A Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida é uma doença causada pelo vírus HIV, que afeta o sistema imunológico, reduzindo o funcionamento do organismo e incapacitando-o de se defender contra doenças oportunistas. No Brasil, os Centros de Testagem e Aconselhamento (CTA) foram criados em resposta à epidemia do HIV/AIDS, oferecendo testagem e aconselhamento aos indivíduos. Atualmente, os CTA oferecem testagem e tratamento medicamentoso do HIV e outras Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis e ações de educação e aconselhamento para a redução de riscos e vulnerabilidades, assumindo papel estratégico no diagnostico precoce, prevenção combinada e educação em saúde. Em São José de Ribamar, o CTA iniciou em 2013 garantindo acesso especialmente para a população mais vulneráveis. Em 2020, o CTA precisou se readequar para ofertar atenção integral e de qualidade em meio aos desafios da COVID-19. Objetivo: Descrever a atuação do CTA de São José de Ribamar no ano de 2021. Material e métodos: Relato de experiência, sobre a vivência da equipe do CTA de São José de Ribamar, município da região metropolitana de São Luís, Maranhão, em 2021. Resultados: O CTA SJR acompanha 304 paciente, tanto de São José de Ribamar quanto de outros municípios da região metropolitana de São Luís. Quanto às ações realizadas, a equipe considerou o risco de contaminação pela COVID-19. O Maranhão iniciou 2021 com 200.938 casos e 4.500 óbitos por COVID-19. Portanto, utilizou-se ações programadas por outros serviços como Unidades Básicas de Saúde, Hospital Municipal, Secretaria de Saúde, Associação Comunitária e Comunidade Terapêutica para realizar suas ações. Ao longo do ano, foram 16 participações extramuros com educação em saúde voltadas à prevenção de IST, distribuição de preservativos e realização de testes rápidos. Ao final do ano, foram diagnosticados 15 novos casos de HIV e 45 novos pacientes cadastrados no serviço, a diferença se deu por casos indivíduos que buscaram o CTA após as ações extramuros. Conclusão: É importante que campanhas de prevenção e educação relacionadas a HIV/AIDS sejam ofertadas para todas as faixas etárias. Nessa perspectiva, a organização e mobilização do serviço é essencial pra a implementação intra e extramuros para o impacto no comportamento epidemiológico das IST no território.

Анотація:

O Brasil se destaca pela resposta social/institucional no enfrentamento ao HIV/AIDS, às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (IST) e às hepatites virais, assim como por conduzir ações em relação ao acesso universal e ao cuidado integral. Por sua vez, o Paraná é pioneiro na descentralização dos testes rápidos para as unidades de saúde, estratégia que leva a ampliação do acesso ao diagnóstico de forma mais equânime aos paranaenses, contudo ainda não é suficiente. O programa Operação Verão, criado pelo poder Executivo e executado por diferentes áreas de atuação do governo Estadual, apresenta-se como uma alternativa; na saúde, tem como componente o incentivo financeiro de custeio, a ser repassado do Fundo Estadual de Saúde para os Fundos Municipais dos municípios do Litoral Paranaense e outros oito municípios com prainhas de água doce. O objetivo principal é qualificar o atendimento à população flutuante, em virtude do afluxo populacional excepcional, historicamente observado no período de final de ano e férias escolares nesses municípios. As ações concentram-se em vigilância em saúde e ações de urgência e emergência, além do já ofertado. Assim, o enfrentamento ao HIV/AIDS, às IST e às hepatites virais ganha um reforço por meio de ações extramuros, sendo organizados espaços de testagem rápida em locais de fácil acesso em dias e horários alternativos aos turistas e à população local em geral. A estratégia tem gerado resultados satisfatórios, tanto do ponto de vista de aceitação em realizar os testes quanto ao ambiente: diferentemente da unidade de saúde, as pessoas se sentem mais à vontade, e mesmo nos resultados reagentes tratam de forma mais leve, desmistificando principalmente questões ligadas ao teste de HIV. Assim, sabe-se que o diagnóstico precoce é essencial para o alcance das metas estabelecidas: eliminação, risco zero de transmissão e cura, e que essa estratégia deve alcançar mais municípios no Estado.

Introdução: As infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (IST) representam um grave problema de saúde pública, acarretando impactos sociais. O teste rápido é uma forte estratégia de fácil manejo, baixo custo e rápida execução e avaliação do resultado; a incorporação dos testes de sífilis e HIV em atividades externas dos serviços de saúde é uma forma de diagnosticar e triar pessoas mais vulneráveis. No ano de 2021, o Brasil notificou 268.637 casos de sífilis e 40.880 novos casos de HIV. Objetivo: Apresentar os aspectos relacionados à positividade dos testes rápidos de sífilis e HIV. Métodos: Estudo de desenho transversal, realizado de fevereiro a dezembro de 2021, a partir de campanhas extramuros dos serviços de saúde que realizaram a oferta de testagem em locais onde se concentravam pessoas com maiores vulnerabilidades. Participaram da campanha todas as pessoas interessadas no momento da oferta. A análise dos dados ocorreu por meio da sumarização dos dados no programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). O presente estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética. Todos os riscos foram minimizados ou excluídos. Resultados: Participaram do estudo 388 pessoas e foram realizados 359 testes para sífilis e 329 testes para HIV. Do total de pessoas, 68 foram casos reagentes, 21,3% apresentaram faixa etária maior ou igual a 30 anos, 21,8% eram do sexo masculino, 25,5% se autodeclaravam heterossexual, 19,2% estavam solteiros no momento do teste, 16,7% iniciaram a vida sexual com idade inferior aos 18 anos, 26,2% usavam algum tipo de droga e 19,2% faziam uso de bebida alcoólica. Conclusão: A partir desses achados foi possível perceber associação de características para positividade do teste rápido, reforçando a importância do desenvolvimento de estratégias para fornecer o suporte necessário da unidade de saúde para seguimento das pessoas e rastreio de novos casos.

La educación media en Colombia según el Articulo “La educación en Colombia” realizada por la OCDE, tiene una duración de dos años y en teoría está dirigida a los estudiantes entre los 15 y 16 años (grados 10 y 11) (OCDE, 2016). Desde el año 2012, la educación media es gratuita en Colombia y el objetivo es que para el año 2030 sea universal y obligatoria. Cada vez más jóvenes colombianos han logrado obtener el título de educación media, sin embargo, los resultados de aprendizaje son bajos según los estándares nacionales e internacionales. Además, muchos de los estudiantes no cuentan con una apropiada formación en la media técnica, situación que les dificulta alcanzar las competencias necesarias para trabajar o continuar su proceso de formación universitaria. La Corporación Universitaria del Huila-CORHUILA, a través del Programa de Ingeniería de Sistemas sensibiliza a los estudiantes con prácticas extramuros para llevar conocimiento de manera voluntaria que permitan fortalecer las capacidades de los aprendices de la media Técnica, involucrando a las Instituciones Educativas de Neiva en el proceso de Desarrollo de Software. En mencionado programa se desarrolla el módulo de lógica de programación y algoritmia donde existen grandes dificultades de interpretación y análisis de algoritmos, debido a la implementación de una metodología de enseñanza inadecuada por parte del docente titular de la asignatura, el cual no cuenta con los conocimientos para impartir estas temáticas. En las I.E Atanasio Girardot, Técnico Superior y el Colegio Adventista Baluarte Interamericano se implementan talleres teóricos y prácticos, relacionados con lógica de programación por medio de herramientas como PSEINT en donde los aprendices evidencian sus primeros pasos en programación utilizando un pseudolenguaje en español, logrando interpretar de forma sencilla y práctica el tema de la algoritmia, llegando a más de 120 aprendices jóvenes, con los cuales se comparten diferentes experiencias que los motive a iniciar una carrera universitaria relacionada con tecnologías de la información. Finalmente, esta proyección social ofrece la oportunidad al aprendiz de las I.E perteneciente a la media técnica que, por medio de estos talleres, ellos aprendan a pensar de una forma más analítica, estimulando la perseverancia y la dedicación como objetivo para encaminarlos a ser personas emprendedoras y que no sean solo consumidores de TI, ayudándolos a identificar su potencial como aporte al desarrollo tecnológico de la región.
