Introduction. The article reveals the essence of the concept of "environmental modernization of production" and describes its internal structure. The current state of the cement industry of Ukraine is considered. The economic and environmental problems of the branch are highlighted. The analysis of the level of environmental modernization of production by the subjects of entrepreneurship of the industry from the standpoint of technical and technological components of environmental modernization of production has been carried out. The economic and ecological effect of changes in production technology has been investigated, as well as the potential savings of financial and raw material resources for producers who have just begun the environmental modernization of production. In particular, the study of the change in the level of energy consumption for cement producers which results in the environmental modernization of production is presented, as well as the potential for reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the associated economic effect. The dynamics of the overall result indicator from the environmental modernization of production – material composition is described. As a result of the analysis, the direction of further environmental modernization of production for the enterprises of the cement industry was developed. Purpose. The article aims to substantiate the necessity of environmental modernization of cement industry enterprises based on analysis of its current state, as well as to carry out the assessment of actual and potential economic and environmental effects from modernization. Method (methodology). In this research, we have used the standard statistical research methods. They are the method of systematization, method of processing, data aggregation method, method of the definition of general summary synthetic indices, method of presentation of the results in the form of statistical tables, method of graphs and drawings. The author has also presented his own methodology for assessing the efficiency of environmental modernization of production by its components: technical, technological, innovative, managerial, economic and environmental. The analysis of the results of ecological modernization of production from the standpoint of technical and technological components is conducted. Results. In the course of the study, the feasibility of conducting environmental modernization of production for the enterprises of the cement industry has been proved. Cement manufacturers with a full cycle of production can use the results and recommendations, which are described in this article.

Purpose. The aim of the article is to research budget support areas for logistical support of technological updating of production and modernization of activity of agricultural enterprises. Methodology of research. The methods of generalization, systematization, analysis, abstraction are used in the process of research to determine the directions of budget support for technological updating of production and modernization of activities of agricultural enterprises in the context of budget programs. The scientific base of scientific research was composed of scientific works of domestic scientists-economists and legislative and regulatory documents on budget support for the agricultural sector of the economy. Findings. The necessity of state support of technological updating of production and modernization of activity of agricultural enterprises is substantiated. Areas of budget support for material and technical support for technological upgrading of production and modernization of agricultural enterprises are identified and analyzed, in particular within budget programs for: partial reimbursement to the economic entities of the cost of construction and reconstruction of livestock farms and complexes and enterprises for the production of compound feed; budget livestock subsidies and state support for crop production; state support for animal husbandry; providing financial support to agribusiness entities through the mechanism of cheaper loans and offsetting of lease payments; financial support (development) of farms; partial compensation for the cost of sophisticated agricultural machinery of domestic production; partial reimbursement of the cost of construction of new greenhouse complexes; financial support for activities in the agro-industrial complex. Originality. The role of budgetary programs on technological updating of production and modernization of activity of agricultural enterprises are defined, analyzed and substantiated. Practical value. The obtained results of the study can be used to organize the process of technological updating of production and modernization of agricultural enterprises. Магістерська дисертація на здобуття ступеня магістра на тему «Управління модернізацією виробничої діяльності підприємства» містить 98 сторінок, 47 таблиць, 8 рисунків, 3 додатків. Перелік посилань нараховує 63 найменувань. Актуальність теми дослідження зумовлена тяжкими конкурентними умовами, нечисленність фінансових ресурсів та малорозвиненість в організації виробничої діяльності. Причиною цього є також відставання у розвитку інформатизації, глобалізації та адаптаційних виробничих систем. У сучасній українській економіці спостерігається відсутність узгодженості між імовірними можливостями промислових підприємств, які, з одного боку, присутні у технологіях та техніці, а з іншого боку - у методиці організації виробництва. Необхідність вирішення порушених питань потребує розроблення організаційно - економічного механізму модернізаційного розвитку підприємства. Зв’язок роботи з науковими програмами, планами, темами. Робота виконувалася згідно з планом наукових досліджень кафедри менеджменту КПІ ім. Ігоря Сікорського у межах науково-дослідної теми «Управління розвитком інноваційного підприємництва в умовах неоіндустріальної економіки» (№ ДР 0118U100598). Автором узагальнено та обґрунтовано управління модернізацією виробничої діяльності підприємства, зокрема запропоновано процедуру управління процесом модернізації. Метою магістерської роботи є узагальнення теоретико-методичних засад та розроблення практичних рекомендацій з управління модернізацією виробничої діяльності підприємства. Об’єктом дослідження є процеси модернізації виробничої діяльності підприємства. Предметом дослідження є теоретичні, методичні та прикладні засади управління модернізацією виробничої діяльності підприємства. База дослідження: ТОВ «Нібулон». У процесі виконання магістерської роботи основою магістерської роботи виступив системно-структурний підхід, що розглядає процес управління модернізацією виробничої діяльності підприємства як цілісну структуровану систему, що є одночасно частиною управління підприємством в цілому. Вирішення поставлених у роботі завдань забезпечувалося використанням основних методів дослідження, а саме методів наукової абстракції, аналізу, синтезу, систематизації, узагальнення, логічного аналізу, системного підходу. Для розв’язання визначених завдань також застосовувалися наступні методи: монографічний – при вивченні літературних джерел та нормативно-правових актів, теоретичне узагальнення, порівняння та аналогії – для розкриття сутності понять “модернізація” та “управління”, балансовий та аналізу – для дослідження тенденцій функціонування підприємства, синтезу – для формування висновків та контролю господарської діяльності підприємства. Науковою новизною одержаних результатів полягає у розробленні практичних рекомендацій з удосконалення управління модернізацією виробничої діяльності підприємства, зокрема запропоновано процедуру управління процесом модернізації виробничої діяльності підприємства, що реалізується в межах розробленого проєкту. The master's dissertation for a master's degree on "Management of modernization of production activities of the enterprise" contains 98 pages, 29 tables, 10 figures, 6 appendices. The relevance of the research topic is due to difficult competitive conditions, lack of financial resources and underdevelopment in the organization of production activities. The reason for this is also the lag in the development of informatization, globalization and adaptive production systems. In the modern Ukrainian economy there is a lack of consistency between the probable capabilities of industrial enterprises, which, on the one hand, are present in technology and engineering, and on the other hand - in the methodology of organization of production. The need to address the issues raised requires the development of organizational and economic mechanism of modernization of the enterprise. Intercourse of work with scientific programs, plans, topics. The work was performed in accordance with the research plan of the Department of Management of KPI named after Igor Sikorsky within the research topic "Management of innovative entrepreneurship in a neo-industrial economy" (№ DR 0118U100598). The author summarizes and substantiates the management of modernization of production activities of the enterprise, in particular, proposes a procedure for managing the process of modernization of production activities of the enterprise, which is implemented within the developed project. The purpose of the master's work is to generalize the theoretical and methodological principles and develop practical recommendations for managing the modernization of production activities of the enterprise. The object of research is the processes of modernization of production activities of the enterprise. The subject of research is the theoretical, methodological and applied principles of management of modernization of production activities of the enterprise. Research base: Nibulon LLC. In the process of master's work the basis was a system-structural approach, which considers the process of managing the modernization of production activities of the enterprise as a holistic structured system, which is also part of the management of the enterprise as a whole. The solution of the tasks set in the work was provided by the use of basic research methods, namely the methods of scientific abstraction, analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization, logical analysis, systems approach. The following methods were also used to solve certain tasks: monographic - in the study of literature and regulations; theoretical generalization, comparison and analogy - to reveal the essence of the concepts of "modernization" and "management"; method of analysis - to study the trends of the enterprise; method of synthesis - to draw conclusions and control the economic activities of the enterprise. The scientific novelty of the results is the development of practical recommendations for improving the management of modernization of production activities of the enterprise, in particular, proposed a procedure for managing the process of modernization of production activities, implemented within the project of modernization of production activities. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the substantiation of the directions of increasing the management system’s efficiency of the production activity’s modernization of the enterprise. Approaching $400 billion for its establishment and production, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) is the Department of Defense's (DoD) largest acquisition program in U.S. history. Unfortunately, significant delays have immobilized the program's production rate, and little research has examined whether and how such delays directly affect national security. The purpose of this study was to determine whether and how production delays in the JSF program directly affect national security. The theoretical foundations for this qualitative case study were Condorcet's modernization theory and Giddens's globalization framework. Data were collected from interviews with 15 senior DoD civilian, military, and JSF officials and were coded and categorized to identify themes and patterns related to the source of production delays and reasons behind their persistence. Data were triangulated using archival records and government research documents. Key findings revealed concurrency issues, Helmet Mounted Display malfunctions, engine concerns, scheduling mishaps, national security vulnerabilities, and astronomical funding outside of the budget. Such factors were responsible for fighter program delays, which affect national security. The results are deemed significant, as the fighter has been a critical 'piece to the puzzle' in the national security strategy as well as other national defense guidance issues. These findings have implications for social change in that they may inform senior DoD officials of policy-related concerns due to continued delays and their impacts on national security interests. Additionally, the study identifies concerns related to sustaining international partnerships that have significant interests embedded into this program.

The present thesis discusses the process of occupation and agro-industrial formation in the west region of Santa Catarina, since its initial formation by small market producers, up to the new market structures, through its insertion in the spatial production circuit. Demonstrating still that, in each historic moment the production originates the arrival of new logistic means. And so, as these agroindustries expanded, they received State apparatus for this growth, with the modernization, technological learning and infrastructure needed for expansion. Consequently, structuring and being incorporated into the national and international markets.
A presente dissertação discute o processo de ocupação e formação agroindustrial na região oeste de Santa Catarina, desde a sua formação inicial, por pequenos produtores mercantis, até as novas estruturas de mercado, através da sua inserção no circuito espacial produtivo. Demonstrando ainda que, em cada momento histórico, a produção procede à vinda de novos meios logísticos. E assim, à medida que essas agroindústrias se expandiam, recebiam aparatos do Estado para esse crescimento, via modernização, aprendizado tecnológico e vias de infraestruturas necessárias para expansão. Desta forma, estruturando-se e sendo incorporadas ao mercado nacional e internacional.

A presente tese teve por objetivo compreender as transformações das dinâmicas produtivas e da agricultura do rural da microrregião de Erechim através da produção do espaço, destacando as contradições expressas por experiências alternativas ao modelo produtivo hegemônico. O método de análise desenvolvido intercala momentos qualitativos e quantitativos e constitui-se em quatro etapas, denominadas descrição, história do espaço, aproximação com a realidade concreta e interpretação da produção do espaço. Em relação aos resultados, inicialmente propôs-se a classificação das paisagens rurais na microrregião de Erechim, tipificando a partir das inter-relações entre sociedade-natureza a "terra plana" e a "terra dobrada". No que se refere à periodização dos modos de apropriação da natureza e das relações de produção identificou-se quatro momentos. No primeiro registram-se as interações das populações indígenas com o espaço, nas quais a agricultura cumpre principalmente o papel de subsistência das comunidades. Outro momento caracteriza-se pela penetração de populações "brancas" na atual microrregião de Erechim e a consequente transformações da agricultura. Estabelecem-se roças e práticas de extrativismo itinerante de erva-mate em meio a relações com o mercado. A demarcação de lotes e a chegada de imigrantes conformam o terceiro momento de organização do espaço. Estabelece-se a propriedade privada da terra, diversificam-se as atividades agrícolas e consolidam-se as redes de circulação de mercadorias entre camponeses e o mercado. O quarto momento inicia com a introdução dos princípios e das relações típicas da modernização da agricultura. Refere-se ao momento de especialização produtiva, de conformação de complexos agroindustriais e a subordinação dos camponeses ao mercado. Além desses resultados, observou-se a diversidade de estratégias de reprodução familiar na microrregião. A adoção dessas estratégias relaciona-se com os cenários de dependência, privação e marginalização enfrentados pelos agricultores. As atividades produtivas, as redes de relação e as paisagens rurais resultam também das significações produzidas pelos agricultores. Em termos dos resultados obtidos corrobora-se a hipótese de que o espaço rural da microrregião de Erechim é organizado e produzido por lógicas empresariais relacionadas a complexos agroindustriais, conformando paisagem e redes em função dessas relações, às quais os camponeses estão subordinados, embora um grupo pouco expressivo desses agricultores desenvolva atividades produtivas alternativas.
This thesis was aimed to understand the transformation of the productive dynamics and the rural agricultural of the microregion of Erechim through the production of space, highlighting the contradictions expressed by alternative experiences to the hegemonic production model. The method of analysis developed merges qualitative and quantitative moments and consists of four steps, called description, history of space, approximation to reality and interpretation of the production of space. Regarding the results, it was initially proposed the classification of rural landscapes in the microregion of Erechim, typifying the "flat land" and the "folded land" from the interrelations between society and nature. Four moments were identified regarding the periodization of modes of appropriation of nature and production relations. In the first moment, the interactions of indigenous peoples with the space in which agriculture mainly fulfills the role of subsistence for the communities was recorded. Another moment is characterized by the penetration of the "white" population in the current microregion of Erechim and consequent agricultural transformations. Plantations were established and itinerant extractive practices of the yerba mate were established in the midst of market relations. The demarcation of lots and the arrival of immigrants make up the third moment of space organization. The private ownership of land was established, the agricultural activities were diversified and the circulation networks of goods between farmers and the market were consolidated. The fourth period begins with the introduction of the principles and typical relations of the modernization of agriculture. It refers to the time of the specialization of production, conformation of agro-industrial complexes and the subordination of farmers to the market. In addition to these results, there was the diversity of family reproduction strategies in the microregion. The use of these strategies relate to the dependency scenarios, deprivation and marginalization faced by farmers. The productive activities, networks of relationship and the countryside landscape are also results of the meanings produced by farmers. In terms of results the hypothesis confirms that the rural areas of the microregion of Erechim is organized and produced by the business logic related to the agro-industrial complexes, shaping landscape and networks to these relations, to which the farmers are subordinated, although an inexpressive group of these farmers develop alternative productive activities.

The production, transportation, and industrialization of milk in Paraná undergone substantial institutional, structural, and technological changes over the last decades that promoted changes in spatial dynamics occupied by the milk chain. The agro-industrial companies, for the most part, have undertaken some improvement, incorporating more effective machinery and equipment to maintain competitiveness in their production lines. The demand for greater efficiency exerted on other links in the chain, reaching producers, and transporters generated technological innovations in the processes, machinery, equipment, products and supplies, making it important objects of analysis. The adjustments made in response to the specific challenges led to dynamics to the region. Based on this analysis, this paper presents results of study on the dynamics of capitation and transportation of milk as a result of the development of the dairy industry and milk production, considering the category of socio-spatial training combined with the idea of geographical combinations and dynamic character of the development of the capitalism.
A produção, o transporte e a industrialização do leite no Sudoeste do Paraná passaram por substanciais mudanças institucionais, estruturais e tecnológicas nas últimas décadas que promoveram alterações na dinâmica espacial ocupada pela cadeia produtiva do leite. As empresas agroindustriais, em sua maior parte, têm realizado uma modernização para manter a competitividade, incorporando em suas linhas de produção máquinas e equipamentos mais eficazes; a demanda por maior eficiência, exercida sobre os outros elos da cadeia, atingindo os produtores e transportadores, gerou inovações tecnológicas nos processos, máquinas, equipamentos, produtos e insumos, tornando-se importantes objetos de análise. Os ajustes promovidos em resposta aos desafios propiciaram dinâmicas de reprodução espacial específicas para a região. Partindo-se dessa análise, este trabalho apresenta resultados do estudo sobre a dinâmica da captação e transporte de leite frente ao desenvolvimento da indústria de laticínios e da produção de leite, considerando a categoria de formação socioespacial articulada com a ideia de combinações geográficas e o caráter dinâmico do desenvolvimento do capitalismo.

This dissertation is part of the debates about the transformations in the contemporary rural world, discussing the process of technological modernization and productive specialization experienced by family farmers, through the ethnographic research carried out in the community of Vila Sírio, city of Santo Cristo, state of Rio Grande do Sul. The city of Santo Cristo is currently the largest dairy producer in Rio Grande do Sul and one of the main ones in Brazil (IBGE, 2015), whose production began to stand out in the early 1990s, based on family farming. Characteristics such as polyculture and low levels of productivity are commonly attributed to family farming, which in the case of Santo Cristo have been changing, with specialization in milk production and productivity gains, with the increasing introduction of technological inputs (milking machines, tractors, Genomic selection, chemical inputs, and among others), making family farm a paradigmatic case of competitiveness in milk production (SOUZA, 2011). From the study of this case, I try to describe this process of technological modernization, discussing its implications for the reproduction of the families involved in the dairy activity, privileging for this the narrative of the farmers.
Esta dissertação se insere nos debates acerca das transformações no mundo rural contemporâneo, discutindo o processo de modernização tecnológica e especialização produtiva experimentada por agricultores familiares, através da pesquisa etnográfica realizada na comunidade da Vila Sírio, município de Santo Cristo, estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O município de Santo Cristo é atualmente o maior produtor de leite no Rio Grande do Sul e um dos principais do Brasil (IBGE, 2015), cuja produção começou a se destacar no início dos anos de 1990, tendo por base a agricultura familiar. Comumente se atribui a agricultura familiar características como o policultivo e baixos níveis de produtividade, aspectos que no caso de Santo Cristo vêm se modificando, com a especialização na produção de leite e ganhos de produtividade, com a introdução crescente de insumos tecnológicos (ordenhadeiras, tratores, seleção genômica, insumos químicos, etc.) tornando a agricultura familiar do município um caso paradigmático de competividade na produção leiteira (SOUZA, 2011). A partir do estudo desse caso, procuro descrever esse processo de modernização tecnológica, discutindo suas implicações para a reprodução das famílias envolvidas na atividade leiteira, privilegiando para tal a narrativa dos agricultores/as.

Purpose: Since the perception of what characterizes a modern building changes with time, it’s important for companies in the housing business to be updated on how the market and customer preferences change. For companies, with long-run standardized production systems, to not lose market shares as a result of the inability to change the exterior appearance of the product a new building should be produced to meet the customers’ requirements. The aim of the study is to create an aesthetically modernized building and study how it changes the production process and affect the cost of production. Method: The methods used in the study consist of qualitative data collection in the form of in-depth analyzes of literature studies, semi-structured interviews and collection of documents. Through the use of these methods a theoretical background and empirical data have been compiled into a result. Findings: The elements that are considered as modern according to literature and customer preferences are horizontal panels, well thought out window placement with abundant glass surfaces and details that affect the aesthetic appearance. To introduce these elements to production the standard needs to be reviewed and more alternatives added. The findings show that with exterior changes, in regards to modernity, does not increase the cost of production more than that the company, for which the study was conducted, is able to keep the total price lower than competitors. Implications: Higher flexibility in the production process needs to be introduced to meet the demand of the market. The work that’s considered to be flexible today may mean standards tomorrow. The conclusion is that companies should keep their standardized production patterns with elements of flexible work. A more detailed study in a technological solution may be followed by this study. Limitations: The study has been conducted in cooperation with a company in the catalogue home industry where only exterior changes for a single storey house are taken into consideration of the study. A further limitation is that a detailed cost calculation is excluded. Keywords: standardization, prefabrication, construction elements, production systems, customer segments, modernization.

The monograph examines the historical and economic aspects of state regulation of the economy, and concludes that the national results of identical economic policies pursued by individual countries at different stages of development are heterogeneous. The necessity of improving the mechanism of centralized influence on economic activity in the Russian Federation by finding the optimal combination of various tools, taking into account the specifics of state regulation of the oil and gas complex as a structural element of the national economy, is proved. The article examines the world experience of oil-producing countries with a developed market structure, analyzes the cause-and-effect relationships between global processes on the world energy market and the internal economic specifics that arose during the modernization of production and the reform of the regulatory mechanism of the Russian oil and gas complex. It is recommended to everyone who is interested in the issues of state regulation of the economy and the development of the domestic oil and gas sector: state civil servants working in the fuel and energy sector, managers and employees of oil and gas enterprises, teachers, doctoral students, postgraduates and students.

Brazilian agriculture reinvented itself by targeting a science-based approach. Embrapa, the research arm of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, is recognized as key in this process. A set of characteristics—public corporation model; scale of operation at national level; spatial decentralization; specialized research units; strong focus in human capital; a vision of an agriculture based on science and technology—explains Embrapa’s strength and achievements. Looking ahead, agricultural production needs to increase at least at the same pace of demand. Otherwise, prices will increase, and the poor will suffer the greatest impact. One of the greatest barriers to ensure modern technology will be more broadly and effectively adopted is market imperfection, which alters relative prices and the returns to investment in technologies. Reducing market imperfections is a necessary condition for expanding production in a more inclusive way, and to increase the effectiveness of policies targeting technology adoption by farmers.

By analyzing a novel dataset on publications by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), we shed light on the extent to which the knowledge production of a multilateral development bank can reach its beneficiaries. We find that IDB publications are downloaded mostly in the American continent, with Colombia, Peru, Mexico and the United States leading the ranking. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic downloads of IDB publications increased, both in the world and in Latin America and the Caribbean. Some characteristics of publications are significantly associated with higher numbers of downloads, such as the language of publications: documents in at least two languages or in Spanish only are downloaded more often than documents in English only, suggesting that it is important to disseminate research in the language of the targeted audience. As for the online discussion on the IDB, we find that mentions of the IDB touch different sectors important for development (especially modernization of the state, health, labor markets and financial markets), they increase when a document is published, and also when a loan is approved.

The government of Rafael Correa (2007-2017) embarked on an ambitious project of diversifying the national economy to transition from a primary resource exporting economy to a competitive Knowledge Society and a Knowledge-Based Bio-Economy as biodiversity was conceptualized as the country’s most significant comparative advantage. This paper traces how peoples’ and nationalities’ knowledges, so-called ancestral knowledges, were elicited in unprecedented ways in this context of bringing about a change of the productive matrix. While knowledge in general was reframed as an infinite resource, ancestral knowledges were made productive for a state-led project of capitalist modernization.

The authors reveals the main possibilities of using MID in learning to ensure equal access to education, personalized learning, instant feedback and evaluating learning outcomes, mobile learning, productive use of time spent in classrooms, creating mobile learning communities, support situated learning, development of continuous seamless learning, ensuring the gap between formal and informal learning, minimize educational disruption in conflict and disaster areas, assist learners with disabilities, improve the quality of the communication and the management of institution, and maximize the cost-efficiency. Bachelor of electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects is a personal and vocational ability, which includes a system of knowledge, skills, experience in learning and research activities on modeling mechatronic systems and a positive value attitude towards it; bachelor of electromechanics should be ready and able to use methods and software/hardware modeling tools for processes analyzes, systems synthesis, evaluating their reliability and effectiveness for solving practical problems in professional field. The competency structure of the bachelor of electromechanics in the modeling of technical objects is reflected in three groups of competencies: general scientific, general professional and specialized professional. The implementation of the technique of using MID in learning bachelors of electromechanics in modeling of technical objects is the appropriate methodic of using, the component of which is partial methods for using MID in the formation of the general scientific component of the bachelor of electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects, are disclosed by example academic disciplines “Higher mathematics”, “Computers and programming”, “Engineering mechanics”, “Electrical machines”. The leading tools of formation of the general scientific component of bachelor in electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects are augmented reality mobile tools (to visualize the objects’ structure and modeling results), mobile computer mathematical systems (universal tools used at all stages of modeling learning), cloud based spreadsheets (as modeling tools) and text editors (to make the program description of model), mobile computer-aided design systems (to create and view the physical properties of models of technical objects) and mobile communication tools (to organize a joint activity in modeling).
