To date, the Medical Internet of Things (MIoT) technology has been recognized and widely applied due to its convenience and practicality. The MIoT enables the application of machine learning to predict diseases of various kinds automatically and accurately, assisting and facilitating effective and efficient medical treatment. However, the MIoT are vulnerable to cyberattacks which have been constantly advancing. In this paper, we establish a MIoT platform and demonstrate a scenario where a trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model for predicting lung cancer complicated with pulmonary embolism can be attacked. First, we use CNN to build a model to predict lung cancer complicated with pulmonary embolism and obtain high detection accuracy. Then, we build a copycat model using only a small amount of data labeled by the target network, aiming to steal the established prediction model. Experimental results prove that the stolen model can also achieve a relatively high prediction outcome, revealing that the copycat network could successfully copy the prediction performance from the target network to a large extent. This also shows that such a prediction model deployed on MIoT devices can be stolen by attackers, and effective prevention strategies are open questions for researchers.

With the continuous development of science and engineering technology, our society has entered the era of the mobile Internet of Things (MIoT). MIoT refers to the combination of advanced manufacturing technologies with the Internet of Things (IoT) to create a flexible digital manufacturing ecosystem. The wireless communication technology in the Internet of Things is a bridge between mobile devices. Therefore, the introduction of machine learning (ML) algorithms into MIoT wireless communication has become a research direction of concern. However, the traditional key-based wireless communication method demonstrates security problems and cannot meet the security requirements of the MIoT. Based on the research on the communication of the physical layer and the support vector data description (SVDD) algorithm, this paper establishes a radio frequency fingerprint (RFF or RF fingerprint) authentication model for a communication device. The communication device in the MIoT is accurately and efficiently identified by extracting the radio frequency fingerprint of the communication signal. In the simulation experiment, this paper introduces the neighborhood component analysis (NCA) method and the SVDD method to establish a communication device authentication model. At a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 15 dB, the authentic devices authentication success rate (ASR) and the rogue devices detection success rate (RSR) are both 90%.

Medical Internet of Things, also well known as MIoT, is playing a more and more important role in improving the health, safety, and care of billions of people after its showing up. Instead of going to the hospital for help, patients’ health-related parameters can be monitored remotely, continuously, and in real time, then processed, and transferred to medical data center, such as cloud storage, which greatly increases the efficiency, convenience, and cost performance of healthcare. The amount of data handled by MIoT devices grows exponentially, which means higher exposure of sensitive data. The security and privacy of the data collected from MIoT devices, either during their transmission to a cloud or while stored in a cloud, are major unsolved concerns. This paper focuses on the security and privacy requirements related to data flow in MIoT. In addition, we make in-depth study on the existing solutions to security and privacy issues, together with the open challenges and research issues for future work.

The creation of a Marine Internet of Things platform, including the Underwater Internet of Things, is needed to ensure the interaction and digital navigation of heterogeneous marine robotic agents. It is necessary to combine the following robotic agents: autonomous underwater vehicles, remotely operated vehicles, active and passive marine sensors, buoys, underwater sonar stations, coastal communication posts, and other elements of the platform. To ensure the interaction of all these elements, it is necessary to use a common communication system within the platform, as well as a common navigation and control system to solve complex problems of the navigation and control of the movement of robotic agents in order to implement a joint mission to collect and transmit data, including video information in real time. The architecture of the Marine Internet of Things platform must first be defined in order to use a unified approach to data exchange. This article provides an overview of approaches to determining the architectures of network underwater and marine communication systems based on the concept of the Internet of Things. This paper provides a comprehensive study of MIoT applications, challenges, and architectures. The main contributions of this paper are summarized as follows: we introduce potential MIoT applications; we point out the challenges of MIoT (i.e., the differences between MIoT and IoT); and we analyze the MIoT system architecture.

<p class="western">Internet of things (IoT) is a complex system with few best practices in building ones, especially on handling real-time communication between IoT devices to the Internet. A framework is often used to fasten building IoT system. This paper present Mobile Internet of Things (MIOT), a framework which use a smartphone as the main component to handle communication between IoT device and the internet. A smartphone is used as the communication gateway (relay) for IoT devices and not as the IoT controller as in common Smartphone-IoT approach. For evaluation purpose, two implementations of IoT prototype scenario is built, an environmental monitoring and a remote controller (RC) car. The experiment shows a quick and easy deployment of IoT system. The Environment Monitoring able to send data to the server in real-time, and control The RC Car with a reasonable response time.</p><p><span>The experiment on 200 ms interval between each packet, shows that MIOT Framework has round-trip latency between MIOT Server and IoT hardware for ≈ 88.007 ms. The addition of smartphone as the main component in the framework (MIOT Apps) contribute to additional latency ≈ 13.145 ms. </span></p><p><span>Using a Smartphone as a gateway for IoT in MIOT Framework is possible and promising. It can be used as a best practice to develop a reliable IoT system which reduces time, effort, and learning overhead on building IoT systems.</span></p>

The rapid development and the expansion of Internet of Things (IoT)-powered technologies have strengthened the way we live and the quality of our lives in many ways by combining Internet and communication technologies through its ubiquitous nature. As a novel technological paradigm, this IoT is being served in many application domains including healthcare, surveillance, manufacturing, industrial automation, smart homes, the military, etc. Medical Internet of Things (MIoT), or the use of IoT in healthcare, is becoming a booming trend towards improving the health and wellbeing of billions of people by offering smooth and seamless medical facilities and by enhancing the services provided by medical practitioners, nurses, pharmaceutical companies, and other related government and non-government organizations. In recent times, this MIoT has gained higher attention for its potential to alleviate the massive burden on global healthcare, which has been caused by the rise of chronic diseases, the aging population, and emergency situations such as the recent COVID-19 global pandemic, where many government and non-government medical resources were challenged, owing to the rising demand for medical resources. It is evident that with this recent growing demand for MIoT, the associated technologies and its interconnected, heterogeneous nature adds new concerns as it becomes accessible to confidential patient data, often without patient or the medical staff consciousness, as the security and privacy of MIoT devices and technologies are often overlooked and undermined by relevant stakeholders. Hence, the growing security breaches that target the MIoT in healthcare are making the security and privacy of Medical IoT a crucial topic that is worth scrutinizing. In this study, we examined the current state of security and privacy of the MIoT, which has become of utmost concern among many security experts and researchers due to its rapid demand in recent times. Nevertheless, pertaining to the current state of security and privacy, we also examine and discuss a number of attack use cases, countermeasures and solutions, recent challenges, and anticipated future directions where further attention is required through this study.

Robust wireless communication networks are a cornerstone of the modern world, allowing data to be transferred quickly and reliably. Establishing such a network at sea, a Maritime Internet of Things (MIoT), would enhance services related to safety and security at sea, environmental protection, and research. However, given the remote and harsh nature of the sea, installing robust wireless communication networks with adequate data rates and low cost is a difficult endeavor. This paper reviews recent MIoT systems developed and deployed by researchers and engineers over the past few years. It contains an analysis of short-range and long-range over-the-air radio-frequency wireless communication protocols and the synergy between these two in the pursuit of an MIoT. The goal of this paper is to serve as a go-to guide for engineers and researchers that need to implement a wireless sensor network at sea. The selection criterion for the papers included in this review was that the implemented wireless communication networks were tested in a real-world scenario.

Dans le but d’affermir la reconquête de la Corse réalisée par les troupes républicaines dans la lancée de la campagne d’Italie ((1796) après l’épisode du Royaume anglo-corse (1794-1796) et de dissuader la persistance des foyers insurrectionnels qui menacent l’assise de la souveraineté française dans l’île entre 1796 et 1800, Napoléon Bonaparte fait voter la loi du 22 frimaire an IX (13 décembre 1800) portant suspension de l’empire de la Constitution de l’an VIII dans les départements du Golo et du Liamone. Un arrêté des Consuls du 17 nivôse an IX (7 janvier 1801) y organise une administration générale confiée par arrêté du Premier consul du même jour à André-François Miot, conseiller d’Etat. Cette autorité administrative déconcentrée coiffant les préfets, dépositaire de l’autorité centrale, chargée d’une mission de contrôle pour rétablir l’ordre sous toutes ses formes et dans toutes les parties de l’administration de la Corse, dispose d’un pouvoir normatif l’habilitant à prendre « toutes les mesures de gouvernement et l’administration ». Usant de pouvoirs sui generis lui conférant une véritable autonomie décisionnelle, Miot prendra, entre mars 1801 et octobre 1802, près de 140 arrêtés ou règlements, auxquels son nom est resté attaché sous l’expression « d’arrêtés Miot ». Cette thèse analyse le régime juridique de ces textes particuliers qui relèvent aussi bien du domaine de la loi (justice, finances, fiscalité) que de celui du règlement. Ceux-ci organisent quelques dérogations de manière à tenir compte du contexte politique et des caractéristiques économiques, sociales autant que culturelles de l’île qui s’opposent à l’application directe du droit commun (suspension du jury). Les « arrêtés Miot » sont restés très présents dans la mémoire collective insulaire car quelques dispositions de l’arrêté du 21 prairial an IX (10 juin 1801) concernant l’enregistrement, diminuant les droits perçus à l’occasion des ventes d’immeubles ou sur les successions, ont survécu jusqu'à la fin du XXe siècle, donnant du reste libre cours aux interprétations les plus fantaisistes sur la lettre et l’esprit de ce texte. L’exploitation de documents inédits (jurisprudence des tribunaux d’instance de l’île au XIXe siècle, registres de l’enregistrement) remet en cause un certain nombre d’idées reçues en matière de particularisme fiscal, assimilé à l’octroi de privilèges injustifiés
With the aim of strengthening the reconquest of Corsica realized by the republican troops in the continuity of the campaign of Italy (1796) after the episode of the English-Corsican Realm (1794-1796) and to dissuade the obstinacy of the insurrectionary homes which threaten the sat of the French sovereignty on the island between 1796 and 1800, Napoléon Bonaparte makes vote for the law of 22 frimaire the year IX (in December 13 th, 1800) about the suspension of the empire of the Constitution of the year VIII in the departments of Golo and Liamone. An order of the Consuls of 17 nivôse the year IX (in January 7th , 1801) organizes a general administration entrusted by order of the First consul of the same day to André-François Miot, member of the Council of State there. This decentralized authority above the prefects, agent of the central authority, loaded with a mission of control to restore the order under all its forms and in all the parts of the administration of Corsica, has a normative power authorizing him to take “all the measures of governement and administration”. Using powers sui generis conferring him a real decision-making autonomy, Miot will set, between March, 1801 and October, 1802, about 140 orders or regulations, in which its name remained attached under the expression of “orders Miot”. This thesis analyzes the legal regime of these particular texts which concern as well from the domain of the law (justice, finances, tax system) that of that of the regulation. These organize some dispensations so as to take into account the political context and the economic, social characteristics as much as cultural of the island which oppose to the direct application of the common law ( suspension of the jury). “Orders Miot” remained very present in the island collective memory because some measures of the order of 21 prairial the year IX (in June 10th, 1801) concerning the recording, decreasing the rights perceived on the occasion of the sales of buildings or the successions, survived till the end of the XXth century, besides giving free rein to the most fanciful interpretations on the letter and the spirit of this text. The exploitation of unpublished documents (case law of the courts of authority of the island in the XIXth century, registers of the recording) questions certain number of ideas received in fiscal sense of identity, likened to the granting of inequitable privileges

INTRODU??O: A Distrofia Miotonica ? caracterizada por atrofia, fraqueza presen?a de miotonia nos m?sculos esquel?ticos. A presen?a de miotonia nos musculos respirat?rios ? duvidosa assim como as t?cnicas para avalia-l?s. OBJETIVOS: Avaliar a sensibilidade /especificidade da taxa m?xima de relaxamento dos m?sculos inspirat?rios (MRR), a eletromiografia de superf?cie (EMGs) dos m?sculos esternocleidomast?ideo (SCM), escaleno (ESC), paraesternal (2EIC), reto abdominal (RA) e a fun??o pulmonar/muscular respiratoria em pacientes com DM1 e sujeitos saudaveis. M?TODOS: Foram convidados a participar do estudo, 71 indiv?duos, 44 pacientes com DM1 e 27 controles. Foram inclu?dos no estudo 28 sujeitos, (18 DM1 e 10 controles). Ap?s exlcus?es a amostra final foi de 25 sujeitos, 16 pacientes com DM1 e 9 sujeitos saud?veis. Todos foram avaliados em rela??o MRR dos m?sculos inspirat?rios, (dP/dt)/Psniff*100(%10ms), a EMGs dos m?sculos respirat?rios, ? fun??o muscular e pulmonar. RESULTADOS: A MRR foi menor nos pacientes com DM1 vs. controle (p=0,003) e foi considerada sens?vel e espec?fica para identificar a doen?a na DM1 e descart?-la no grupo controle, ?rea de ROC 0,87 (95%IC, 0,729 a 1,01, p=0,003). Foi observado valores reduzidos de PIm?x (p=0,0029), PEm?x (p=0,0007) e SNIP (p=0,0030), CVF%pred. (p=0,0014) e VEF1%pred. (p=0,0003) e maior atividade da EMGs em repouso nos m?sculos SCM (p=0,004), ESC (p=0,009) e RA (p=0,045) e no m?sculo SCM (p=0,001) durante o sniff teste. CONCLUS?ES: A MRR ? sensivel e especifica para identificar atraso no relaxamento dos musculos respirat?rios e a fun??o muscular respirat?ria encontra-se alterada nos pacientes com DM1.
INTRODUCTION: Myotonic dystrophy (DM) is a neuromuscular disease characterized by unstable expansion of CTG triplet on chromosome 19. It has two forms: type 1 (DM1 or Steinert's disease); and type 2 (DM2), being the former the most frequent and showing systemic manifestations, such as myotonia (muscle relaxation difficulty), cataracts, arrhythmias, muscle weakness and atrophy, among others, respiratory failure being one of the main factors predictive of mortality and a leading cause of death. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the sensitivity / specificity of the maximum relaxation rate of the inspiratory muscles (MRR), the surface electromyography (sEMG) of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM), scalene (SCA), parasternal (2ICS), rectus abdominis (RA) and lung function/respiratory muscle strength in patients with DM1 and healthy subjects. METHODS: We invited 74 subjects to participate in the study, 44 patients with DM1 and 30 controls. The study included 31 subjects (18 DM1 and 13 controls). After exclusions, the final sample was of 27 subjects, 16 patients with DM1 and 11 healthy subjects. All of them were assessed for MRR of inspiratory muscles, for sEMG of the respiratory muscles, muscle and lung function. RESULTS: The MRR was lower in patients with DM1 vs. control (p = 0.001) and was considered sensitive and specific to identify the disease in DM1 and discard it in the control group, ROC area of 0.87 (95% CI, 0.74 to 1.01, p=0.001). DM1 group showed lower PImax (p=0.0006), PEmax (p=0.0002), SNIP (p=0.0014), CVF%pred (p=0.0018) and FEV1%pred. (p=0.0004) and higher sEMG activity of the SCM (p=0.0022) and ESC muscles (p=0.004) at rest; of 2EIC (p=0.003) during PEmax and of SCM (p=0.02) and ESC muscles (p= 0.03) during the sniff test. CONCLUSIONS: The MRR is sensitive and specific to identify delayed relaxation of the respiratory muscles and respiratory muscle function is altered in patients with DM1.

Background:It is today estimated that the number of people living with HIV/AIDS in India is 2.5 million. Recent research has shown that stigmatizing attitudes against people living with HIV/AIDS is still present among health care personnel and nursing students. Nurses have a central role in preventing HIV/AIDS transmission and therefore education about the disease is a key factor for improving health care among the population (Durkin, 2004). Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate and describe nursing students‟ level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and their attitudes towards people with the disease. Method: It is a descriptive quantitative study using a modified Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) questionnaire. The questionnaire contains questions about from which sources the person gains information, the level of knowledge and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS. The respondents (n=45) are nursing students attending the final year of Bachelor Science Degree of Nursing at MIOT College of Nursing in Chennai, India. Results: There are gaps in the knowledge of the students regarding HIV/AIDS. None of the students answered correctly to all 20 questions and statements on the HIV/AIDS knowledge scale. More than 10% of the students (n=5) answered incorrectly to 45% of the statements/questions. In regards to attitudes, the students tend to have high levels of empathy, but also high levels of refraining attitudes. The result indicates that most students are willing to care for people with HIV/AIDS (89%) even though refraining attitudes are present. Levels of empathic attitudes among the students tend to increase when higher level of knowledge is present. Conversely, the level of refraining attitudes tends to decrease as the level of knowledge increases. Conclusions: There are gaps in the knowledge about HIV/AIDS. The level of empathic attitudes is high, but at the same time the level of refraining attitudes is high
Bakgrund: Idag uppskattas antalet personer som lever med HIV/AIDS i Indien uppgå till 2.5 miljoner. Nyligen gjorda studier visar på att stigmatiserade attityder gentemot människor som lever med HIV/AIDS fortfarande är ett problem bland sjukvårdspersonal och sjuksköterskestudenter. Sjuksköterskor har en central roll i preventionsarbetet när det gäller HIV/AIDS och därför är utbildning om sjukdomen en nyckelfaktor för att uppnå god hälsa bland allmänheten (Durkin, 2004). Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka och beskriva sjuksköterskestudenters kunskapsnivå avseende HIV/AIDS, samt deras attityder gentemot människor som lever med sjukdomen. Metod: Det är en deskriptiv kvantitativ studie och instrumentet som används är ett modifierat Knowledge, Attitude och Practice (KAP) enkät. Enkäten innehåller frågor som ger information om vilka källor respondenten får information från, kunskapsnivån och attityder gentemot HIV/AIDS. Respondenterna(n=45) är sjuksköterskestudenter som går det sista året på Bachelor Science Degree of Nursing på MIOT College of Nursing i Chennai, Indien. Resultat: Det finns luckor i studenternas kunskap när det gäller HIV/AIDS. Ingen av studenterna svarade korrekt på alla 20 frågor/påståenden på HIV/AIDS knowledge scale. Mer än 10% av studenterna (n=5) svarade inkorrekt på 45% av påståendena/frågorna. När det gäller attityder tenderade studenterna att ha höga nivåer av empati, men också höga nivåer av avståndstagande attityder. Resultatet indikerar att de flesta studenterna är villiga att vårda personer med HIV/AIDS (89%), trots närvaron av avståndstagande attityder. Nivån av empatiska attityder bland studenterna tenderar att öka i samband med högre kunskapsnivå. Omvänt tenderar nivån av avståndstagande attityder att avta i samband med högre kunskapsnivå. Slutsats: Det finns luckor i kunskapen om HIV/AIDS. Nivån av empatiska attityder är hög, men samtidigt är även nivån av avståndstagande attityder hög.

Background: The myotonic dystrophy (MD) is a multisystem neuromuscular disease that can affect the respiratory muscles and heart function, and cause impairment in quality of life. Objectives: Investigate the changes in respiratory muscle strength, health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and autonomic modulation heart rate (HR) in patients with MD. Methods: Twenty-three patients performed assessment of pulmonary function, sniff nasal inspiratory pressure (SNIP), the maximal inspiratory (MIP) and expiratory (MEP) pressure, and of HRQoL (SF-36 questionnaire). Of these patients, 17 underwent assessment of heart rate variability (HRV) at rest, in the supine and seated positions. Results: The values of respiratory muscle strength were 64, 70 and 80% of predicted for MEP, MIP, and SNIP, respectively. Significant differences were found in the SF-36 domains of physical functioning (58.7 ? 31,4 vs. 84.5 ? 23, p<0.01) and physical problems (43.4 ? 35.2 vs. 81.2 ? 34, p<0.001) when patients were compared with the reference values. Single linear regression analysis demonstrated that MIP explains 29% of the variance in physical functioning, 18% of physical problems and 20% of vitality. The HRV showed that from supine position to seated, HF decreased (0.43 x 0.30), and LF (0.57 x 0.70) and the LF/HF ratio (1.28 x 2.22) increased (p< 0.05). Compared to healthy persons, LF was lower in both male patients (2.68 x 2.99) and women (2.31 x 2.79) (p< 0.05). LF / HF ratio and LF were higher in men (5.52 x 1.5 and 0.8 x 0.6, p <0.05) and AF in women (0.43 x 0.21) (p< 0.05). There was positive correlation between the time of diagnosis and LF / HF ratio (r = 0.7, p <0.01). Conclusions: The expiratory muscle strength was reduced. The HRQoL was more impaired on the physical aspects and partly influenced by changes in inspiratory muscle strength. The HRV showed that may be sympathetic dysfunction in autonomic modulation of HR, although with normal adjustment of autonomic modulation during the change of posture. The parasympathetic modulation is higher in female patients and sympathetic tends to increase in patients with longer diagnosis

Objetivos: Investigar as altera??es na for?a muscular respirat?ria, qualidade de vida relacionada ? sa?de (QVRS), e modula??o auton?mica da freq??ncia card?aca (FC) em pacientes com DM. M?todos: Foram avaliados 23 pacientes quanto ? fun??o pulmonar, press?o inspirat?ria nasal sniff (SNIP), press?es respirat?rias m?ximas (PIm?x e PEm?x), e QVRS (question?rio SF-36). Destes, 17 realizaram avalia??o da variabilidade da frequ?ncia card?aca (VFC) em repouso, nas posturas supina e sentada. Resultados: Os valores da for?a muscular respirat?ria foram de 64, 70 e 80%predito para PEm?x, PIm?x, e SNIP, respectivamente. The thesis deals with the analysis of MIST markets (Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey) in comparison to BRIC countries. The aim of the thesis is to emphasise the attractiveness and potential of MIST economies for international business and investments relating to their growing competitiveness. The first chapter introduces world trends in international trade and it describes the origin as well as the development of the group. The carried-out macroeconomic and demographic analysis in the second chapter reveals strengths and weaknesses of the MIST. The third chapter describes trade activities of the MIST and its current position in international trade. The fourth chapter analyses the entrepreneurial and investment environment of the group as well as its level of competitiveness. The carried-out research in the thesis has shown that the MIST economies represent a perspective group of developing markets with potential for trade and investment activities.

Resumo: A presente tese de doutorado tem por objetivo investigar a questão do mito e da construção discursiva no romance Niebla (1914) de Miguel de Unamuno e como, através de estratégias de escrita que colocaram este romance espanhol na categoria das obras literárias que inovaram o gênero no início do século XX, é realizada, na elaboração de um pequeno drama burguês, a formação de um amplo painel das questões sócio-culturais e das relações dos discursos míticos deste período. Assim, Unamuno faz convergir, em sua obra, questões literárias, culturais, políticas, ideológicas e existenciais, as quais dirige ao seu leitor, e passa para este a responsabilidade de decisão dos sentidos, num processo de escrita que privilegia, em todos os níveis e sobretudo, o diálogo. A esse tipo de romance "dialógico" Unamuno dá o nome de "nivola". Dentro desta perspectiva, o presente trabalho propõe-se a investigar o caráter metalinguístico do texto unamuniano; as relações, diretas e indiretas, que o romance Niebla tem com a chamada "modernidade" estética do início do século XX; a necessidade de renomeação do gênero e as implicações da criação da nivola como projeto estético; a discussão da relevância dos espaços no romance; a importância dos discursos míticos, vivos e atuantes, que aparecem na obra, na relação entre mito, lenda e relato. Na discussão da problemática do mito, que inclui a elaboração do seu discurso e das formas de metalinguagem, optou-se predominantemente por um instrumento de análise baseado na definição da semiologia barthesiana do mito, por dois motivos: por tratar do mito como discurso, ou seja, como um fenômeno amplo de linguagem e por lidar com os discursos míticos vivos e atuantes nas sociedades modernas, sobretudo os que têm maior expressão no cenário mítico da sociedade burguesa
Resumen: Este trabajo de doctorado tiene como objetivo principal investigar la cuestión del mito y de la construcción discursiva en la novela Niebla (1914) de Miguel de Unamuno y como, a través de estrategias de escrita que pusieron esta novela en la categoría de las obras literarias que innovaron el género en los principios del siglo XX, es realizada, en la formación de un pequeño drama burgués, la elaboración de un amplio retrato de las cuestiones socio-culturales y de las relaciones del discurso mítico de este período. Así, Unamuno converge en su obra problemáticas literarias, culturales, políticas, ideológicas y existenciales; las cuales dirige a su lector y pasa a él la responsabilidad de decisión de los sentidos, en un proceso de escrita que privilegia, en todos los niveles y sobretodo, el diálogo. A esto tipo de novela dialógica, Unamuno le da el nombre de "nivola". En esta perspectiva, este trabajo se propone a investigar el carácter metalingüístico del texto unamuniano; las relaciones, directas e indirectas, que Niebla tiene con la llamada "modernidad estética" del comienzo del siglo XX; la necesidad de renombrar el género y las implicaciones de la creación de la "nivola" como proyecto estético; la discusión de la relevancia de los espacios en la novela; la importancia de los discursos míticos, vivos y actuantes, que aparecen en la obra en la relación entre mito, leyenda y relato. Resumo: O presente trabalho e uma etnografia sobre o parentesco e as praticas sociais em um povoado rural no norte do Haiti, parte das sessões rurais de Milot. Através de um trabalho de campo de três meses e meio e de uma discussão teórica sobre o parentesco, pretendo refletir sobre a formação dos grupos domésticos locais. A partir destas instituições, analisarei o modo como relações de vizinhança são estruturadas e como pessoas estabelecem e mantém redes de parentesco e amizade. A atenção dada a essas relações abriu possibilidades de se pensar também à produção e a troca dentro do povoado e as formas como bens e mercadorias circulam nos mercados da região. Por fim, minha analise se debruçara também sobre o modo como magia e parentesco se estabelecem enquanto partes complementares de um mesmo regime moral e pratico
Abstract: This thesis is ethnography of kinship and social practices in a rural village near Milo in the north of Haiti. Drawing from three and half months of fieldwork and my intellectual training in theoretical dimensions of kinship, I intend to analyze the formation of local households. Building from that foundation, I will evaluate how neighborhood relationships are structured and how people establish and maintain friendships and kinship networks. Examining these kinds of deeply personal relationships opens up unexpected possibilities for thinking about networks of production, exchange, and good/commodity circulation that connects the village to regional markets. My research will also expand to consider how ideas of magic and kinship are complementary parts of the same moral and practical regime

Presento aquí un ensayo de interpretación semiótica del mito como forma simbólica. El adverbio de modo es la clave misma de nuestra pertinencia semiótica: nos ceñimos o circunscribimos a ese modo de leer el mito iniciado en el pensamiento moderno por Cassirer, pero queremos también encontrar en esa fenomenología crítica de la conciencia algunas pistas esenciales de lo que hoy se forja como fenomenología semiótica del discurso mítico. ¿En qué medida hay o no hay en ese desplazamiento (del…al) un cambio de paradigma? La hermenéutica semiótica del discurso mítico que aquí proponemos forja otro modo de leer la forma simbólica pero, a la vez, busca mantenerse fiel a algunos de sus presupuestos fenomenológicos más consistentes. Reconozco entonces dos grandes paradigmas que articulan el marco teórico-filosófico del presente estudio: por un lado, la corriente fenomenológica, en sus vertientes crítica, existencial y hermenéutica; por otro lado, el estructuralismo y el postestructuralismo. De algún modo, estos dos grandes paradigmas expresan una tensión al interior de la filosofía semiótica entre aquel ‘humanismo’ y este ‘antihumanismo’. Desde el punto de vista metodológico entrarán también en tensión, en discusión y en diálogo, la perspectiva no metódica de la hermenéutica y la perspectiva metódica de la semiótica.

ZusammenfassungIm folgenden Kapitel wird eine Untersuchung zum Thema Diversity und Diversity Management im MINT-Studium präsentiert. Aufgrund des Fachkräftemangels in den Bereichen Mathematik, Ingenieurwesen, Naturwissenschaften und Technik (MINT) und vor dem Hintergrund der hohen kulturellen Diversität auf dem MINT-Arbeitsmarkt in Deutschland, ist der Umgang mit kultureller Vielfalt an Hochschulen für MINT-Studiengänge von besonderer Bedeutung. In diesem Beitrag wird die Übertragbarkeit bereits etablierter Diversity Management Konzepte auf MINT-Studierende anhand 90 qualitativer Interviews mit MINT-Studierenden mit und ohne Migrationshintergrund exploriert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass sich der größte Teil der Studierenden ohne Migrationshintergrund der Diversität im eigenen Umfeld kaum bewusst ist und viele Diversität für ein Hindernis halten. Studierende mit Migrationshintergrund berichten von wahrgenommenen Faultlines (Trenngrenzen zwischen sozialen Gruppen), die ihrerseits mit einer weniger sensiblen Wahrnehmung für diskriminierendes Verhalten sowie Stereotypenbedrohung und einer weniger kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit Diversity einhergehen. Anhand der Ergebnisse wird geraten, Diversity systematisch in den Curricula von MINT-Studiengängen umzusetzen, um die zukünftigen Fach- und Führungskräfte in diesem wirtschaftlich bedeutsamen Fachbereich adäquat auf die Anforderungen im Arbeitsalltag vorzubereiten.

Trotz der hohen kulturellen Diversität in der MINT-Branche ist der Umgang mit und die Einstellung zu Vielfalt noch nicht in MINT-Curricula integriert. Diversity Beliefs stehen für die individuelle Überzeugung, dass Diversität innerhalb einer Gruppe mit positiven Effekten verbunden ist. Unterschiedliche Studien konnten aufzeigen, dass Diversity Beliefs einen entscheidenden Einfluss darauf haben, ob vielfältige Gruppen erfolgreich zusammenarbeiten.Auf Grundlage der vorausgegangenen qualitativen Studien, die explorativ Wechselwirkungen zur Diversity Orientierung untersucht haben, werden in dieser Studie die Intergruppenangst, soziale Dominanzorientierung, autoritäre Aggression, vorherige Kontakterfahrungen, die Akkulturationsstrategie und die Intergruppenbedrohung als Prädiktoren von Diversity Beliefs berücksichtigt. In einem Querschnittsdesign wurden 271 Studierende verschiedener deutscher Hochschulen und Universitäten befragt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die positiven Kontakterfahrungen und eine integrative Akkulturationsstrategie signifikant positiv mit den Diversity Beliefs der Studierenden zusammenhängen. Zudem konnte ein signifikanter indirekter Zusammenhang zwischen der sozialen Dominanzorientierung und den Diversity Beliefs der Studierenden über die Intergruppenbedrohung ermittelt werden.Diese Studie leistet damit einen Beitrag zum weiteren Verständnis des Umgangs mit Vielfalt in der MINT-Branche und bietet wissenschaftliche und praktische Implikationen für das Diversity Management an Hochschulen, insbesondere im Fachbereich MINT.

ZusammenfassungIn diesem Kapitel wird anhand qualitativer Interviews komparativ untersucht, welche Vorstellungen von Vielfalt MINT-Studierende und Beschäftigte in der MINT-Branche haben. Die Wirkung und die Berücksichtigung der Vielfalt in den Institutionen Hochschule und Betrieb wird aus Sicht der Studierenden und der Beschäftigten dargestellt und verglichen. Grundsätzlich bewerten die Befragten den Umgang mit Diversität an Hochschulen positiver als in Unternehmen. Obwohl in einzelnen Unternehmen, die an dieser Studie teilgenommen habe, ein sehr positiver Umgang mit Diversität vorherrscht, deuten die Ergebnisse darauf hin, dass insgesamt ein erhebliches Verbesserungspotenzial besteht.

AbstractDer Sommertourismus in Österreich trägt wesentlich zu der großen Bedeutung des Tourismus insgesamt bei. So hat die Zahl der Nächtigungen in den Sommermonaten in Österreich 2018 erneut einen Höchstwert erreicht. Mit bisher 68,67 Mio. Nächtigungen liegt die Sommersaison 2018 (Mai bis September) um 2,2 % über dem Vorjahresniveau. Auch die Zahl der Ankünfte stieg in der vergangenen Sommersaison um 2,9 % auf 21,70 Mio. (Statistik Austria 2018). Mehr Nächtigungen wurden auch im September 2018, also außerhalb der eigentlichen Sommersaison festgestellt. Im September 2018 nahm die Zahl der Gäste um 2,0 % auf 3,86 Mio. zu, Gästenächtigungen stiegen um 1,4 % auf 11,24 Mio. Zu diesem Ergebnis trugen die ausländischen Herkunftsmärkte mit einem Plus von 1,6 % auf 7,86 Mio. bei. Die Nächtigungszahlen wichtiger Herkunftsländer, wie Deutschland (+1,2 %), Schweiz und Liechtenstein (+3,5 %) sowie der Niederlande (+2,1 %), erhöhten sich weiter. Die Zahl der inländischen Gästenächtigungen stieg ebenfalls um 0,9 % auf 3,38 Mio. (Statistik Austria 2018).
