The aims of this study were to identify types of family conflict and identify factors also the impact of family conflict on the main character in the Marriage Storymovie script by Noah Baumbach. The author uses descriptive qualitative research with a sociological approach and the theory of types of family conflict by Ursula Lehr and the theory of factor of family conflict by Sadarjoen. The results of the research show that in Marriage Story movie script, there are six types of family conflicts, namely; conflicts with parents, conflicts with child, conflicts with other people, conflict among husband and wife, conflicts of job selection and inner conflicts. Then, there are four factors that influence family conflict namely; economy, child, communication failures and jealousy. This type of family conflict and its factors then have an impact on the breakdown of marriages, fights in the divorce process, struggles for child custody, and distribution of assets.

Realising an increase in marriages, an increase in marriage violence and a subsequent rise in marriage homicide, the study explored the possibility of taking divorce as a preferred option towards ending marriage violence and subsequent homicide. The triangulated study adopted a descriptive survey design which collected data through questionnaires that were distributed to 160 purposively sampled participants. The study followed an anti-positivist approach which relies on depth rather than width of data. Data were analysed and interpreted using NVIVO software and dyadic analysis, which provided for the analysis of descriptive and statistical data. It was the study’s finding that marriage conflicts and homicide are rampant in Zimbabwe and the available resolution systems have lost relevance and effectiveness. The study, noted that while marriages are good for the development of any society, if there are irreparable differences between couples, there is need to separate or divorce under what the study calls ‘just divorce’. The study concludes that ’just divorce’ is basically meant to save lives while allowing divorcees to reconnect after they would have really made up their minds and addressed emotions. It takes national authorities to appreciate the essence of ‘just divorce’ for them to embrace it as a policy. <p><em>Interfaith marriage is a form of marriage is performed by a pair of men and women who have different religious beliefs. Currently interfaith marriage is already banned by the government and the logic, in the se-religious marriages can be conflict and does not guarantee a successful marriage, let alone a different religion. Although conflict in marriage is not only caused by differences in belief, but it is very influential for the survival of marriage as the basis of different faiths will make all the difference. Although it is not easy to maintain interfaith marriage, but not a few marriages that last a long time despite the different religions. Effective communication will minimize the occurrence of conflict, so the marriage will last a long time. This young marriage is often associated with marriage at a young age or teenagers whose age has not reached 20 years (early marriage). But it is different again in relation to early marriage. Early marriage is more for underage children whose age is really below the limit for marriage, mostly like high school children and even junior high school students. Young marriage itself where marriage at a young age but it is already allowed to marry because of the age that has passed the limits of both legal and religious provisions. Young marriages usually have a lot of conflicts due to differences of opinion and others, one way to deal with conflicts is to apply good communication patterns. The pattern of communication is a picture of two or more people in the process of sending and receiving messages correctly, so that the intended message is conveyed or can be easily understood. The purpose of this research is to find out the reasons for getting married at a young age, to find out the communication patterns of young married couples in conflict resolution in Pangkah Wetan Village, Ujung Pangkah Gresik and to determine the factors that cause conflict between young married couples in Pangkah Wetan Village, Ujung Pangkah Gresik. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection procedure is interview, observation, and documentation. Checking the validity of the data carried out is triangulation. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the reasons for getting married at a young age in Pangkah Wetan Village Ujung Pangkah Gresik are parental/family factors, self-willed factors, and pregnancy out of wedlock. (2) communication patterns in resolving conflicts between young married couples in Pangkah Wetan Village, Ujung Pangkah Gresik, namely they are both silent until one of the partners or the guilty apologizes, but gradually their communication patterns are getting better and fulfill aspects of communication patterns in De Vito's theory. (3) the factors that cause conflict in young married couples are failure to communicate, economic factors, and difficulty accepting differences (natures).

The issue of interfaith marriage in Indonesia is rooted in the legal conflict between Article 2, paragraph (1) of Law No. 1/1974 on Marriage, which regulates the legality of marriage based on religious law, and Articles 34 and 35 of Law No. 23/2006 on Citizenship Administration. Articles 34 and 35 of Law No. 23/2006 state that a valid marriage is one that is reported and registered, with Article 35(a) stipulating that the court determines the validity of a marriage. The incompatibility of these regulations regarding interfaith marriages has affected legal interpretation, resulting in discrepancies in judicial decisions. In response, the Supreme Court issued Circular Letter No. 2 of 2023, providing guidance for judges in adjudicating cases involving the registration of marriages between individuals of different religions and beliefs. This circular aims to ensure certainty and consistency in the application of the law in such cases. However, this regulation has sparked debate among legal experts. This research adopts a qualitative approach and is analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that conflicting legal interpretations regarding interfaith marriages lead to differences of opinion among judges on the validity of such marriages. Moreover, inconsistencies in the legal framework governing interfaith marriage in Indonesia result in conflicts of legal interpretation. The primary cause of the ineffectiveness of Indonesia's interfaith marriage law is due to substantive legal considerations. Disagreements between legal systems lead to disputes among legal entities and impact interfaith marriages within society.

Marriage in many traditional societies often concerns the institutionalized exchange of reproductive partners among groups of kin. Such exchanges most often involve cross-cousins—marriage with the child of a parent’s opposite-sex sibling—but it is unclear who benefits from these exchanges. Here we analyze the fitness consequences of marrying relatives among the Yanomamö from the Amazon. When individuals marry close kin, we find that (i) both husbands and wives have slightly lower fertility; (ii) offspring suffer from inbreeding depression; (iii) parents have more grandchildren; and (iv) siblings, especially brothers, benefit when their opposite-sex siblings marry relatives but not when their same-sex siblings do. Therefore, individuals seem to benefit when their children or opposite-sex siblings marry relatives but suffer costs when they, their parents, or same-sex siblings do. These asymmetric fitness outcomes suggest conflicts between parents and offspring and among siblings over optimal mating strategies. Parental control of marriages is reinforced by cultural norms prescribing cross-cousin marriage. We posit that local mate competition combined with parental control over marriages may escalate conflict between same-sex siblings who compete over mates, while simultaneously forging alliances between opposite-sex siblings. If these relationships are carried forward to subsequent generations, they may drive bilateral cross-cousin marriage rules. This study provides insights into the evolutionary importance of how kinship and reciprocity underlie conflicts over who controls mate choice and the origins of cross-cousin marriage prescriptions.

Conflict arises in every marriage. It is a part of life that naturally occurs in every household, anywhere, including Christian marriages, even though they are blessed in the church, they are not immune to conflict free. Controlling conflict has an impact on whether the husband and wife relationship is strong in Christian marriages, so knowing the sources of triggers or causes of conflict in a Christian marriage family is very important so that we can anticipate and take conflict resolution in appropriate ways. The method in writing this journal is carried out by analyzing relevant sources from books and research literature, so that application suggestions are obtained for increasing the stronger relationship between husband and wife because they can control conflict well. Husband and wife need to put the reconciliation process that Allah created for the husband and wife relationship to be applied in all marital relations that are disturbed or even damaged.

This paper considers features of conflict behavior and men and women ’s satisfaction with marriage in a young family. The paper deals with the issues of the psychological content of the concept of “young family”, touches upon issues of gender characteristics that cause conflicts in the family. This paper presents the results of the research on the features of conflict interaction of a married couple. The revealed significant correlations made it possible to determine the differences between the male and female groups in conflict-prone areas of marital relations in terms of the following indicators: “Raising children”, “Manifestation of autonomy by one of the spouses”, “Violation of role expectations”, “Disagreements in relation to money”. A correlation analysis of indicators of the degree of satisfaction with marriage in the male and female groups confirmed the existence of differences between them, namely, the level of satisfaction in the male group is higher than in the female group, which is less satisfied with marriage. The study showes that there are statistically accurate links between gender and conflict behavior strategies, satisfaction with marriage in a young family. The degree of men and women’s satisfaction with marriage is higher in a young family using the “Cooperation” and “Compromise” strategies. Specialists can use the results obtained to expand our understanding of the problems of diagnosing the features of conflict behavior in a young family and to develop effective psychological assistance programmes to prevent and resolve family conflicts.

Introduction. The changing role of family in the society and the increased rate of divorce highlight the problem of socio-psychological factors that contribute to the emergence of marital conflicts caused by spouses' dysfunctional interpersonal communication. Aim: to determine a set of instruments for studying socio-psychological factors in interpersonal communication dysfunction in marital conflicts. Results. A proposed complex of instruments for studying of socio-psychological factors in interpersonal communication dysfunction in marital conflicts partners includes three groups of tools. The first group is aimed at studying the features of marriage partners' interpersonal interaction in conflict situations and their satisfaction with marriage. The second group includes focuses on studying micro-level socio-psychological factors (the characteristics of marital partners that affect their interpersonal communication in conflict situations). The third group consists of tools for studying meso-level socio-psychological factors (the features of family interaction with social environment and marriage partners' work-life balance, which can contribute to the emergence of marital partners' interpersonal communication dysfunction). Conclusions. The proposed set of instruments for studying the effects of socio-psychological factors on marriage partners' communication dysfunction in conflicts can be used by family counselors, family mediators, family therapists, and family coaches. The set of instruments can also be used for training future marriage partners, in particular, for marital conflict-management training.

Conflict resolution style was examined with 191 married Latino couples residing in Houston and Dallas, Texas, representing 21 different nationalities. The purpose of this research study was to examine conflict resolution styles most predominant among the Latino couples in the sample and to examine if various demographic data correlated with the couples conflict resolution style. The dependent variables were conflict resolution style (avoidance, volatile, and validator) using Gottman's MSI (Marital Conflict Scale, 1994). Using the same items on the MSI, and direct statements about Latino's communication from the Marriage and Family Therapy literature, other dependent variables were identified (unity, harmony, autonomy, conservatism and passion) with factor analysis and content analysis. The statistically significant independent variables were religion, language, education, and country of birth. The majority of this sample identified them selves as having a validating style of conflict resolution. Clinical implications for family therapists are discussed.

This is a model building study which addresses itself to observing and investigating what transpires between two couples as they complete the process of resolving a marital conflict. Four therapy sessions where the couples successfully resolved a marital conflict and one therapy session where a resolution was attempted but was unsuccessful were selected for investigation. A task analysis was completed in which the moment-by-moment interactions of the couples were rigorously tracked to reveal the interactional patterns that distinguish couples who resolve marital conflicts from those who are not successful at resolving their conflicts. The interactional task analysis involved six strategies. The investigator's cognitive map of the resolution process was outlined. The task was defined as a pursue-distance conflict in which one partner was identified as an emotional pursuer and the other identified as an emotional withdrawer. The task environment, an emotionally focused therapy session, was specified. In the first rational analysis the investigator's model was presented. The transcripts of the resolution events were reviewed and repeated patterns were identified in the first empirical analysis. In the second rational analysis process indicators that would discriminate between the stages of resolution were chosen from four process measures. In the second empirical analysis two process measures (the SASB and the Experiencing scale) were used to identify the stages of resolution and produce a final model of marital conflict resolution. The final model consists of four steps which the couples move through to reach resolution. These steps are; Escalation, De-escalation, Testing, and Mutual Openness. Escalation involves either an 'attack-defend', 'attack-withdraw', or 'attack-attack' pattern where the pursuer is blaming their partner and the other partner is either defending, withdrawing or attacking. Each partners focus is on representing their own position and both partners usually feel angry, frustrated or unheard. In De-escalation one partner openly discloses their experience or asks for what he or she needs. This usually involves an expression of vulnerability. The other partner responds with either 'affirming and understanding' or 'helping and protecting' behavior. With Testing there is an initial positive interaction in which the withdrawer responds to the pursuer's open expression of feelings or needs with 'helping and protecting', 'nurturing and comforting' or 'trusting and relying' behavior. The pursuer however suddenly switch to 'belitting and blaming', 'sulking and appeasing' or 'walling off and avoiding' behavior. The pursuer appears to be dealing with the issue of trust, they are not sure if they can trust their partners response to them as totally genuine and likely to occur again. Mutual Openness resembles De-escalation however it this stage both partners complete 'disclose/trust rely' or 'affirm/help protect' sequences. Both partners rather than just one complete a sequence in which they explore their part in the problem openly while the other partner listens and affirms them. A failure to move from Escalation to De-escalation and the absence of 'affirming and and understanding' communication behaviors distinguished the non-resolution event from the resolution events.

Studies on the effects of divorce on children often focus on the event of the divorce as being detrimental to the children. It is becoming more evident, however, that it is not the physical loss of a parent in itself that leads to later adjustment problems, but rather the type of environment in which the child lives. The present study examined the relationship between current and past familial conflict, as perceived by college students, and their current attitudes toward marriage. This study also explored the relationship between the family structure in which the students lived (intact vs. divorced) and their current attitudes toward divorce. Two hundred four students from a midwestern university participated in this study. Participants completed four questionnaires: (1) the Family Environment Scale -current; (2) the Attitudes Toward Marriage scale; (3) the Attitudes Toward Divorce scale; and (4) the Family Environment Scale - past. The following hypotheses were tested: (1) Students who perceived high levels of conflict in their families currently or while growing up will have less favorable attitudes toward marriage; (2) Students who experienced parental divorce will have more favorable attitudes toward divorce than students from intact homes. Analyses included multiple regression analyses predicting attitudes toward marriage and attitudes toward divorce from conflict and family structure.Contrary to expectations, perceived levels of conflict were not significantly related to attitudes toward marriage, and family structure was not a significant predictor of attitudes toward divorce. Compared to students from intact homes, students from divorced homes reported significantly higher levels of conflict in their homes while growing up. Implications of these findings and limitations and recommendations for future research are discussed.

In this doctoral thesis, I use empirical strategies in Applied economics to provide quantitative evidences that can help improve welfare policies in developing countries. My main aim is to understand the effectiveness of policies, and how economic factors can alter the decisions of individuals. Specifically, I concentrate on the domain of gender and education. In the domain of gender, I study how the marital decisions of women can be altered when they are exposed to economic shocks such as conflict. And in the domain of education, I look at impact evaluations of educational programs aimed at improving access to education. In chapter 1, Evaluation of Educational Policies on Enrollment Rates in Ghana, I analyze the impact of educational policies implemented in Ghana in 2004 and 2005 on enrollment rates at the basic school level. These policies; the Capitation Grant, School Feeding Program, and Compulsory Kindergarten, were implemented with the main aim of increasing access to education at the basic level. Using district level data from the Ministry of Education, Ghana, and survey data from Ghana Demographic and Health Surveys, I employ a difference-in-difference estimation to study how these policies have increased enrollment rates over time. I measure enrollment rates as Net Enrollment Rate (NER) and Gross Enrollment Rates (GER): the NER measures the percentage of the official age population of a particular grade that are enrolled in that grade while the GER measures the total enrollment irrespective of age, expressed as a percentage of the official age population. The district level data shows that, compared to 2004, NER increased by 25% in 2006 and has since fluctuated around this number, while GER increased by 10% in 2006 and has increased over time, to about 20% in 2014. The individual level data also shows an increment in NER by 10% in 2008 and 8% in 2014, as compared to 2003. Examining how the policies affected different districts and individuals, both data sets show disparities in enrollment rates by wealth and place of residence, but no evidence of gender disparity. In addition, the gap that exists between the northern and the southern regions has reduced. From policy perspective, these findings call for attention on the equity and sustained effects of these policies. In chapter 2, Early Marriage and Conflict, Evidence from Biafran War in Nigeria, I explore variation provided by the Nigerian civil war, known as the Biafran War, to study the effect of conflict on early marriage of exposed women. Specifically, I perform a difference-in-difference analysis by exploiting variation across ethnicities and cohorts, which determine whether a woman was exposed to the war or not. I find that women exposed at ages of 10 to 15 years were, on average, 6% more likely to get married before they turn 16 than those who were not exposed. This finding draws attention to the fact that conflict could exacerbate early marriage as individuals may turn to this harmful tradition just to cope with the economic crises they face. In chapter 3, The impact of Conflict on the age at marriage in Sub-Saharan Africa, I analyze the impact of the variation in the intensity of conflict experienced during the marriageable years of women in Sub-Saharan Africa on their age at first marriage. Using data from Demographic and Health Survey and estimating a discrete-time hazard model, I find that exposure to conflict has differential impact across the age spectrum: conflict increases the hazard into marriage at the ages of 18 to 21 years, with no effect on the other age sub-population.

This study used qualitative methods to examine if there was a connection between conflict resolution styles used with siblings in adolescence and conflict resolution styles utilized in current romantic committed relationships. The Conflict Resolution Behavior Questionnaire (Reese-Weber, & Bartle-Haring, 2003) and Gottman‟s (1994a, 1994b) couple-conflict types as adapted by Holman and Jarvis (2003) were administered to 144 participants through an online questionnaire. Analysis of the CRBQ using a multiple regression indicated participant‟s self-rating of compromise, attack, and avoidant conflict resolution styles used with siblings when an adolescent predicted current self-ratings of compromise, attack, and avoidant conflict resolution styles utilized in current romantic relationships.

A typology of marital dyads derived from Kelly's (1955) Personal Construct Psychology was used to investigate the communicative behaviors of married companions. Four groups based on Kelly's Commonality (dyadic similarity) and Sociality (dyadic understanding) corollaries were contrasted: similar-understanding, dissimilar-understanding, similar-misunderstanding, and dissimilar-misunderstanding couples. It was expected that dyadic understanding would contribute more to self-disclosure, cooperative involvement, and marital satisfaction than dyadic similarity. Furthermore, it was anticipated that couples high in understanding and low in similarity would represent optimally functioning couples, as evidenced by disclosure, satisfaction, and involvement with each other. Sixty-three married couples who had known each other at least two years completed questionnaire items assessing demographic variables, marital satisfaction (Dyadic Adjustment Scale) and self-reported communication behaviors (Partner Communication Inventory, Dyadic Disclosure Inventory). Each spouse also completed an 8 X 8 Repertory Grid and predicted the mate's responses on the Rep Grid. Subjects then participated in three different audio-taped discussion tasks (an informal conversation, a consensus decision-making task, and a role-played conflict-resolution scene) which were rated for avoidant, competitive, and cooperative responses, as well as overall self-disclosure. Although understanding facilitated disclosure in conflict situations and similarity fostered marital satisfaction, communicative behaviors generally reflected the joint influence of both similarity and understanding. Dissimilar-understanding couples were intensely involved with each other and freely disclosed, but were not highly satisfied. Similar-understanding couples were the most content and had the greatest sense of validation as a couple. Similar-misunderstanding couples restricted their relationship by attempting to avoid expected confrontations. Dissimilar-misunderstanding couples viewed themselves in a socially desirable light, tried to maintain congenial, nonintimate interactions, and were moderately contented. Implications for therapeutic programs, for Kelly's theory, and for future research were discussed.

Abstract Mindful partnering is a newly conceptualized construct to measure interpersonal mindfulness in the relationship with one's intimate partner. Mindful partnering is characterized by mindful awareness toward one’s partner as well as compassion and acceptance of one’s partner. We hypothesized that higher levels of mindful partnering would be associated with lesser physiological reactivity to relationship conflict (i.e., less biological stress during relationship conflict). Seventeen couple pairs (N= 34) visited the laboratory to complete several tasks, including questionnaires and a conflict discussion in which they discussed the largest areas of conflict in their relationship. Participants had their Respiratory Sinus Arrythmia (RSA), a measure of nervous system activation, measured during the baseline period and conflict discussion. Participants completed the Mindful Partnering Measure (MPM) to measure the extent to which one demonstrates mindful partnering in their relationship with their romantic partner, including the subscales of MPM- Mindful Awareness and MPM- Acceptance/Compassion. Regression analyses suggested that MPM-Mindful Awareness significantly predicted partner’s greater RSA, indicating that 9% of the variance in RSA was accounted for by partner’s MPM- mindful awareness (a small effect), suggesting greater relaxation and a less pronounced stress response. These results suggest that when one’s partner is fully present and attentive, it may relieve the potential stress of marital disagreement. Being present with full attention in this way may soothe a partner’s nervous system by creating a feeling of being fully listened to and understood in the context of conflict. Choi, Seungeun. "RETHINKING THE OTHER FOR MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION – FOCUSED ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF BUBER AND LEVINAS." In International Conference on Education and New Developments. inScience Press, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.36315/2021end110.

The number of foreigners residing in Korea exceeded 2.5 million for the first time ever. As the ratio of foreigners to the total population approaches 5%, it is evaluated that Korea has actually entered a multicultural society. It is known that among the types of foreigners staying there are many young foreigners who visit Korea for the purpose of employment. The number of marriage immigrants was 16,025, an increase of 4.3% from the previous year. Of these, 82.6% were women. Entering a multicultural society in a situation where empathy for each other is insufficient can lead to social conflict. In particular, in the COVID-19 pandemic, hostility toward foreigners is more prevalent, and hatred for strangers is increasing. This study critically analyzes these social phenomena and seeks to raise the philosophical basis for multicultural education by establishing a concept with a new perspective on the other. This paper focuses on the philosophy of Buber and Levinas. By establishing 'I and You' as a meeting, Buber presented a new relationship with others. Meanwhile, Levinas emphasized human ethics and responsibility as the absolute and infinite being of the other. According to Buber, in the world there is a relationship between 'I-You' and 'I-It', and in order to live a true life, you must establish a relationship between 'I and you'. The relationship between 'I and it' is a temporary and mechanical relationship where objects can be replaced at any time by looking at the world from an instrumental point of view. However, the relationship between 'I and You' is a relationship that faces each other personally, and the only 'I' that cannot be changed with anything and the 'You' that cannot be replaced exist in deep trust. In phenomenology of otherness, Levinas intends to describe the encounter with the something outside the subject. The concepts of possession, distinctiveness and understanding are replaced by those of approaches, proximity, care and fecundity. In Korean society, a policy that seeks to use foreigners as human resources and, especially in the case of marriage immigrant women, as a solution to a society with low birthrates along with the labor force, shows how society treats others. Therefore, multicultural education must rethink the existence and dignity of human beings through the perspective of the other as asserted in the philosophy of Buber and Levinas.

Thirteen years of Constantine’s the Great sole power (324–337 AD) was preceded by a period of a struggle with numerous claimants. In 311–312 AD Constantine entered into an alliance with the emperor Licinius, who controlled the Danube border and Thrace. The alliance was reinforced by the marriage of Licinius to Constantine's sister. The treaty allowed Constantine to focus on establishing control over the western part of the empire, and Licinius did the same over the eastern one. Despite the unity of the emperors declared by official sources of information (coins, inscriptions), their relationship was much more complicated. Claiming sole power, Constantine tested certain ideological attitudes. For example, kinship allowed Constantine to consider both Licinius himself and his children as members of his house. In addition, Constantine's control of Rome and the Senate allowed him to appoint consuls and control the province of Asia, ruled by a proconsul. In addition, Constantine claimed the status of senior Augustus, which gave him the sole right to raise to imperial dignity. Designating the candidacy of a possible co-emperor (another brother-in-law, Bassianus), Constantine forced Licinius into an open conflict. The result of this confrontation was the incomplete victory of Constantine: Licinius was not deposed, but had to renounce a number of territories and recognize the right of his co-ruler to imperial investiture. Thus, despite the absence of open conflict, the period 311–316 AD is a curious example of a diplomatic and ideological confrontation between two emperors preparing for a clash.

This study was undertaken by Oxfam in three South Sudanse counties as part of the SIDA-funded project 'Building Resilience through Gender and Conflict-Sensitive Approaches to Education, Skills Development, and Sustainable Livelihoods'. Its purpose was to shed light on why so many girls drop out of school. The research revealed that women and girls often lack decision-making power over their lives. Early or forced marriage, the abduction of girls, perceptions that education delays marriage – and that educated girls risk not finding husbands – all contribute to dropout rates. Additional challenges include a lack of adequate hygiene and sanitation facilities in schools, the distances learners need to travel, insecurity caused by communal violence, floods, food insecurity, and a heavy household work burden. The Government of South Sudan has in place laws and policies to address these issues, but they remain largely on paper and enforcement mechanisms are weak. The report analyses each of these factors in turn and presents recommendations for how the SIDA project can begin to address them in its future programming.

The 21st century has witnessed a significant shift in how the concept of nationalism is understood. A political marriage between identity politics and populism has resulted in “civilizationism,” a new form of nationalism that entails an emotionally charged division of society into “the people” versus “the Other.” All too often, the divisive discourses and policies associated with civilizationalist populism produce intercommunal conflict and violence. This paper draws on a salient case study, India’s Hindutva movement, to analyze how mainstream populist political parties and grassroots organizations can leverage civilizationist populism in campaigns to mobilize political constituencies. In surveying the various groups within the Hindutva movement and conducting a discourse analysis of their leaders’ statements, the paper shows the central role of sacralized nostalgia, history, and culture in Hindutva populist civilizationism. By analyzing the contours and socio-political implications of civilizationist populism through this case study, the paper contributes to the theoretical understanding of the concept more generally.
