Głównym celem powyższego artykułu było udowodnienie, że Bułhakow w swym Mistrzu i Małgorzacie – poprzez obrazy Jeszui Ha-Nocri, Piłata, Mateusza Lewiego i Kaify – bronił chrześcijaństwa personalistycznego i pełnego miłosierdzia, odrzucał zaś odżywające niestety i w naszych czasach, w latach 20. XXI wieku, „chrześcijaństwo średniowieczne”, posługujące się w swych argumentacjach i praktyce przemocą oraz mieczem. Taki był właśnie, zdaniem autora powyższego artykułu, ideowy cel Bułhakowa, a środki artystyczne mające temu służyć czerpał autor Mistrza i Małgorzaty z literatury religioznawczej i biblijnej. Wbrew szeroko rozpowszechnionym opiniom Bułhakow – inaczej aniżeli powieściowy Mistrz – korzystał podczas tworzenia wątku biblijnego głównie nie ze źródłowych prac w językach obcych, lecz z przetłumaczonych na rosyjski książek na ogół popularnonaukowych, często o zabarwieniu ideologicznym, autorstwa Ernesta Renana czy Frederica Farrara. Jednak to wcale nie dogłębna znajomość historii biblijnej, lecz przede wszystkim geniusz pisarski samego Bułhakowa – wzmocniony jeszcze jego lekturami w języku przede wszystkim ojczystym, ale także przecież tłumaczeń książek obcych – pozwoliły mu „odgadnąć”, tak jak to on sam dogłębnie pojmował, historię Jeszui Ha-Nocri, Piłata, Mateusza Lewiego czy arcykapłana Kaify. W ustaleniu albo przynajmniej zarysowaniu tego wszystkiego pomogła autorowi powyższego artykułu trzydziestopięcioletnia już praca badawcza nad Mistrzem i Małgorzatą, rozpoczęła jeszcze w połowie lat 80. we współpracy z Andrzejem Drawiczem i kontynuowana potem poszukiwaniami w archiwum Bułhakowa w Moskwie, a teraz zwieńczona – jak na razie – rodzinnym tłumaczeniem na polski Mistrza i Małgorzaty, które ukazało się wraz z nowym korpusem komentarzy w 2016 roku w krakowskim wydawnictwie Znak.

Artykuł porusza kwestię relacji pomiędzy filmem a literaturą na przykładach najsłynniejszej książki Michaiła Bułhakowa i inspirowanego nią, lecz będącego samodzielną wypowiedzią artystyczną obrazu Wojciecha Marczewskiego. Z jednej strony szkic stanowi zestawienie interpretacji i spostrzeżeń innych autorów, z drugiej – podejmuje próbę wskazania nowych odniesień komparatystyczno-intertekstualnych. Temu właśnie podporządkowano układ artykułu. W początkowych partiach omówiona została struktura postaci Cenzora, który skupia w sobie kilku powieściowych bohaterów: przede wszystkim Poncjusza Piłata, Berlioza, mistrza czy Judę z Kiriatu. Następnie ukazano sposób manifestowania się w filmie najważniejszych w Mistrzu i Małgorzacie, a niewystępujących na ekranie Jeszui oraz Wolanda, a także innych,pobocznych Bułhakowowskich charakterów. W kolejnej części tekstu analizie poddano motywy, cytaty, schematy stanowiące tworzywo dzieła Wojciecha Marczewskiego oraz reżyserską strategię prowadzącą do ich twórczego przekształcenia. Nadało to jego artystycznej wypowiedzi głębi, czyniąc ją wielopłaszczyznowym traktatem moralno-filozoficznym.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę perykopy zawierającej wołanie "Hosanna" w wersji Mt 21,9. Dla lepszego zrozumienia znaczenia tego słowa, które często wyjaśniane jest jako lityrgiczny okrzyk, omówiono szerszy kontekst niż ograniczający się zazwyczaj do Ps 118. W szczególności przeanalizowano kilka polskich wydań Biblii, a także starożytne tłumaczenia Septuaginta, Targum i Peszitta Starego i Nowego Testamentu. Przeanalizowano również liturgię żydowską nazywaną "Hoszanot" wykazując, że w modlitwach hebrajskie słowo "hosza na" jest używane w jego bezpośrednim znaczeniu. Ponadto, bazując na tym znaczeniu, odnotowano powiązanie wołania "Hosanna" z wersetami poprzedzającymi Ewangelii Mateusza, gdzie niewidomi wołali o zbawienie. Godnym odnotowania jest fakt, że niewidomi zostali uzdrowieni zarówno przed, jak i po analizowanym wydarzeniu. Ze względu na to, że kontekst wskazuje na misję prorocką Jezusa spełnioną w Świątyni, nieco uwagi poświęcono zagadnieniu proroctwa. Stwierdzono, że spełnienie wyroku Jesusa nad bezowocnym drzewem figowym zaznacza nieuniknione spełnienie proroctwa o zburzeniu Jerozolimy. Całościowy kontekst daje mocne podstawy do rozumienia tekstu w taki sposób, że Jezus podkreśla swoją tożsamość jako Boga zarówno słowami, jak i czynami, zaś spontaniczne wołanie tłumu "Hosanna" dostarcza kluczy do zrozumienia tego przesłania.

Albuca crispa is a new species of section Falconera series Trianthera with crispulate leaves from the Great Karoo, known at least since 1947 but overlooked until now. A second new species. A grandis. from the southwestern Cape was previously included in A. fragrans Jacq. (section Falconera series Falconera). It is a robust species that flowers in winter and early spring and the styles are rugulose with ± isodiametric epidermal cells, unlike typical A. fragrans which is a more slender species flowering in early summer and with derived, smooth styles with fusiform epidermal cells. The recent discovery of a flowering population matching the type of A. albucoides (Aiton) J.C.Manning Goldblatt (subgenus Osmyne) allows for a full description and illustration of this poorly know n and taxonomically neglected species that has often been included in A. suaveolens (Jacq.) J.C.Manning Goldblatt. Lastly, examination of the type of A. reflexa Krause Dinter from Namibia shows it to be conspecific w ith Drimia indica (Roxb.) Jessop.

The estimated population of congestive heart failure (CHF) patients in Pakistan is 28 millions.1 Besides epidemics of type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease, South Asian countries are also be at an increased risk of heart failure at earlier ages than other racial/ethnic groups.2 Heart failure sub classified into three categories: With preserved ejection fraction (LVEF>50%), Mid-range ejection fraction (LVEF41-49%), Reduced ejection fraction (LVEF<40%).3 According to studies in United States of American (USA) and United Kingdom (UK)4,5 heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) prevalence has increased due to ageing population, improved survival from myocardial infarction and high prevalence of co-morbid conditions like diabetes and obesity. With increasing number of young patients (<40 years) with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) 12%6 in our population, prevalence of heart failure with predisposing factors need to be explored. Other than diagnosing and work up of these patients, the most challenging part is the pharmacological treatment by therapeutic agents proven to reduce morbidity and mortality in HRrEF. Registries have shown under-usage of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI), Beta-blockers and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRA) in such patients.7 Reason of not acheving the outcomes were due to not attaining the target levels of drugs dosages.8 With recommendations from new guidelines new novel drug therapies i.e. sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, most debatable questions from the physicians are keeping in view the hemodynamic status and kidney function. Questions coming to the Physicians minds include;9 Should all guideline directed medical therapies be started together or stage wise? Which drugs should be titrated first? How quick can one up-titrate B-blockers and ARNI? At what level of kidney impairment should one stop ACE/ARB/ARNI/SGLT2 inhibitors? When should one refer these patients for cardiac resynchronization therapy device (CRTD) or Heart Transplantation? When should one repeat transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)? Physicians need to have clear answers and stance on the above queries. HFrEF is a major public health concern in our population especially with early onset of ischemic heart disease (IHD). Awareness, education and up to date knowledge regarding early diagnosis, work up and adjustments of drugs in such patients with proper follow up is important to reduce the ever rising morbidity and mortality in our population. For over two centuries yellow fever (YF) had terrorized those visiting and living close to endemic areas. Prompted by continued imports and its impact on US troops in the Spanish–American War of 1898, US Surgeon-General George Sternberg sent a small Commission to investigate the problem in US-occupied Cuba. It comprised James Carrol, Jesse Lazear and Aristide Agramonte; its leader was Surgeon-Major Walter Reed. Whilst in Cuba they collaborated with Cuban Juan Guitéras of Havana's Sanitary Department and Surgeon-Major William Gorgas, American chief of the island's Sanitary Department.

Missed appointments by patients are a major problem for health care professionals. To combat this issue, some optometrists use a pre-appointing system in which patients are scheduled for an annual exam a year after their initial visit. Prior to that subsequent appointment, clinic staff often try to contact the patient to confirm the appointment. This study examined baseline levels of appointment keeping, analyzed existing processes for pre-appointing patients, and introduced a revised process package to improve appointment keeping at an eye care clinic. This package included training, mailed postcard reminders and two phone call reminders. Results indicate appointment keeping by pre-appointed patients increased over baseline. The intervention was also shown to be cost-beneficial.

O presente estudo procura refletir a problemática da relação ser humano e Deus no pensamento de Wolfhart Pannenberg. Para a elaboração do trabalho foram consideradas duas temáticas de grande relevância no autor mencionado: a antropologia e a história. A primeira parte se encarrega em apresentar os fundamentos antropológicos da dimensão religiosa. Para isso foi importante compreender o conceito de pessoa, de sujeito e de liberdade em nosso autor. Em Pannenberg, o tema da abertura caracteriza uma antropologia que não se fecha diante do puro imanente, mas se coloca frente ao infinito mistério de Deus. O ser humano é aquele que transcende a sua finitude e se abre ao infinito. A noção de imagem e semelhança de Deus oferece bases para uma leitura teológica da antropologia. A segunda parte trabalha o tema da revelação como história no contexto judaico - cristão. Conforme o teólogo alemão a revelação se dá de forma indireta através dos acontecimentos históricos. Nesse sentido a primeira parte se harmoniza com a segunda, pois somente se pode falar de história se consideramos o ser humano como seu protagonista. É na história humana que Deus se revela como criador, libertador e salvador da humanidade. O ápice da revelação se dá em Jesus Cristo, pois nele ela chega ao seu ponto final. Jesus já é de forma proléptica o que acontecerá com todo ser humano. A sua ressurreição antecipa a esperança futura reservada a cada pessoa. Em conformidade com o que foi afirmado, a escatologia se faz muito importante para o teólogo luterano. É nela que acontecerá o desfecho final da história humana, chamado por ele de fim da história. Jesus Cristo é o centro unificador desse futuro, em que haverá uma perfeita harmonia entre passado, presente e futuro no presente eterno de Deus. A realização final da pessoa será a eterna participação do amor divino, da trindade. Amor já manifestado pelo Pai desde o início da criação.
The present study aims at reflecting the problem of the relationship between human beings and God in Wolfhart Pannenberg s thought. Two issues of great importance in Pannenberg s work were taken into consideration: anthropology and history. The first presents the anthropological foundations of the religious dimension. For that matter, it is important to understand the concept of person, subject and freedom in Pannenberg. For him the opening theme features an anthropology that does not close itself before the immanent pure, but it is placed against the infinite mystery of God. The human being transcends its finitude and opens himself to infinity. The notion of image and likeness of God provides a foundation for a theological reading of anthropology. The second part works with the theme of revelation as history in the Jewish-Christian context. According to the German theologian, the revelation is given indirectly through historic events. In this sense the first part agrees with the second because one can only talk about history if we consider man as the performer. It is in human history that God reveals himself as the creator, liberator and savior of humanity. The apex of revelation is in Jesus Christ, for there it reaches its end. Jesus is already in a prolepsis of what will happen to every human being. His resurrection anticipates the future hope reserved for each person. In accordance with what was said, eschatology becomes very important for the Lutheran theologian. That is where the final outcome of human history will happen – what he calls the end of history. Jesus Christ is the unifying center of the future, when there will be a perfect harmony of past, present, and future in the eternal present of God. The ultimate realization of the person will be eternal participation in the love of God, the Trinity. Love that the Father has already expressed since the beginning of creation.

The Laie Hawaii Temple majestically overlooks the beaches of Oahu and has stood as an emblem of the Latter-day Saint faith to the world since 1919. Although the structure is iconic and highly significant to Latter-day Saints, a comprehensive history of the Laie Hawaii Temple has never been published. This thesis provides such a history from the conception of the temple until its dedication. The history of this particular temple is important for several reasons. At its dedication, the temple in Laie became the fifth operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the first dedicated temple outside of the state of Utah (following the exodus) and outside of North America. It was also the first temple built in one of the missions of the Church. It was a pioneering temple as one of the first that catered to a large number of patrons from different cultures speaking different languages. Its multi-cultural, multi-lingual integration is something that would not be seen in other temples for several decades. Over the years, the temple and the attractions built around it have drawn millions of other visitors as well. Its location has made it an internationally recognized edifice and a valuable tool for the Church to introduce its message to the world. This history is also compelling because of what the temple in Laie, Hawaii represents in terms of the Latter-day Saint conception of the doctrine of the "gathering." As the first temple built outside of the traditional centers of Mormon colonization, this temple became an early prototype of a method of gathering that does not appear to begin taking hold Church-wide until the mid-twentieth century. Ahead of its time in other ways, the temple was built in a place where, according to the thinking of the time, Church membership was not yet sizable enough to warrant a temple. This thesis explains why the temple was built in Hawaii. These aspects of the temple's history produced ramifications that continue to impact the Church today, nearly 100 years later. As with many temples, a folk history of oral tradition has developed around the story of the Laie Hawaii Temple. This thesis will also provide a review of the historical record and offer clarity in sorting through that tradition.

The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an administrative and ecclesiastical quorum. The Church, first organized in 1830, did not organize the Quorum of Twelve Apostles until 1835. When it was organized, Joseph Smith outlined the quorum's responsibilities through revelation. The Twelve were assigned two unique and specific responsibilities: to take the gospel to the nations of the earth and to form a traveling high council for the regulating of the Church outside of its stakes. The first opportunity for the Twelve to fulfill their responsibilities was in May 1835 when they were assigned to travel to the eastern United States and southern Canada. There they both preached the gospel and regulated the branches of the Church. This mission represents not only the first time the Apostles fulfilled their assigned responsibilities but the only time that they filled their responsibilities as an entire quorum. It is surprising that more secondary literature on this mission is not available. This thesis seeks to commence an academic conversation regarding this mission and its impact both on the quorum's development and on the Church in its outlying areas. Chapter 1 details the preparation of the individual members of the Twelve to fulfill this mission. It discusses the preparation of the Twelve prior to their call to the apostleship. It also discusses the training that took place between their call and the commencement of this mission. As an administrative body for the membership of the Church, the Twelve spent the majority of their time on this mission with the members of the Church. Chapter 2 identifies the unique purpose of the Twelve on this mission and how that purpose was fulfilled. Joseph Smith originally laid out the geographic framework for this mission, which sent the Twelve into Canada and throughout much of the northeastern United States. Chapter 3 identifies the locations of the Twelve based on available records and seeks to provide an answer to how the Twelve decided which areas to preach in. Many individuals were baptized during this five-month mission. Chapter 4 identifies what the Twelve taught and the sources that they used. It also discusses the reaction of the people they taught. The concluding chapter summarizes the thesis and identifies areas for further research.

In the thesis a methodology of understanding and explicating Christian faith consistent with the mystery of the simultaneous close connection and radical difference of God, human beings and the physical-organic cosmos environment is been mapped out. The theanthropocosmic principle as an expression of the mystery functions as the heuristic key in opening up the notion of kenosis (and incarnation) of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit within the scope of the enduring interaction of . The Spirit in the kenotic sense of the word connects and differentiates the overall processes of being and becoming, here and there, now and then of the mystery of the `presences' of God, human beings and the natural cosmic world in being there (Dasein), being thus and thus (Sosein) and being dynamically actual (Aktsein). God acts in terms of the Spirit's operational kenotic presence within the margins of the creatureliness of people and the natural cosmic world as the kenotic clothing of God. A dynamic interpretation of the integral and differential character of being and becoming suggests that making sense of the dynamics of the formation of identities and identification is an ever ongoing endeavour. It implies a continuous process of negotiation whilst experiencing various continuums, remaining open-ended in an ever-increasing sense of wonder and mystery of "exitus a Deo-reditus in Deum".

The focus of this practical theological study is Pentecostalism, and the relationship between the hermeneutics of Pentecostalism and Postmodernism. Through a literary search, we observe the points of congruency between the hermeneutics of early Pentecostals and the key tenets of Postmodernism. We note the unprecedented acceptance of Pentecostal scholars into the larger theological world and question whether this is a result of the increased Modernization of Pentecostal hermeneutics. The Postmodern world of youth is explored, and we observe their tremendous openness to spirituality. This thesis will show that Pentecostals may contribute to the Christian world a Pentecostal hermeneutic that will speak a relevant message to generations of youth. Chapters two and three examine the convergent viewpoints of Pentecostalism with Postmodernity, in terms of rationalism, narratives, and the place of experience in life and theology. Chapter four highlights the hermeneutical debate between Gordon D. Fee and his Pentecostal responders, noting the Modern approach in the principles debated. Chapter five seeks to provide interaction with a giant of theology seldom engaged by Pentecostals - Rudolf Bultmann - and his modern followers, and explores the world of Postmodern youth. Chapter six explores the work of Kenneth Archer, who has proposed a specific Pentecostal hermeneutical approach, and chapter seven discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in hermeneutics, including whether Pentecostal experience may be considered an ”edge” in hermeneutics. Chapter eight summarizes the findings of this study.

The liturgical space in the Constantine’s basilica of the holy sepulchre in Jerusalem The article examines the question of the liturgical space in the complex of sacred buildings, commemorating the place of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, ris-en by the Emperor Constantine the Great at the beginning of the IV century in Jerusa-lem. The complex was comprised of three single sites. The first of them was the great basilica called Martyrium where most of the liturgies were celebrated. The second place embraced the spacious courtyard with the rock of Golgotha at the top of which was the golden and precious cross. The sources usually call it Crux or Golgotha. The third liturgical space consisted of the impressive rotunda of Anastasis containing the aedicule of the Tomb of Jesus. This way of creating the liturgical space permitted the liturgy of Jerusalem in the first millennium to develop its proper celebrations which further became the model for other rites and liturgies of the East and West. The whole complex was destroyed in 1009 and the Martyrium together with the courtyard of the Golgotha were never rebuilt.

Krzysztof Knittel’s Passion is a contemporary work in which we can find references to the tradition of the passion genre (Gregorian chant and medieval mysteries). The composer divides the description of the Lord’s Passion into 8 segments, between which are inserted fragments of earlier chapters of St Matthew’s Gospel, presenting chronologically the full story of the life and teachings of Jesus. An inspiration for this structure Knittel found in the collage technique (typical of the visual works of Jiří Kolář). In accordance with this conception, the first picture is the gospel description of Christ’s Passion, ‘cut up’ into segments which the composer separated with fragments of the second picture, comprising descriptions of the life of Jesus. Each fragment of the second picture is additionally ‘cut’ into six sections which are presented simultaneously. For Knittel, this way of conveying the artistic message had its origin in his fascination with the beauty of polyphonic speech. The principle of inserting earlier events into the description of Christ’s Passion also has its source in the device of retrospection, characteristic of novels and films.

The article is dedicated to the manifestations of the influence of the Jesuit culture on the broadly understood religious life of the Uniate eparchy of Przemyśl. Their activity, initiated in the second half of the 16th century in Jarosław, was aimed at the implementation of the Jesuit mission, i.e. serving the Church and the state through the development of education and the apostolic mission. For this purpose, schools were established, first in Jarosław and later in Przemyśl, which raised the intellectual level of both young people and the level of cultural life in the eparchy, and opening up to representatives of other denominations, including Orthodox youth, gave a chance for new conversions to the Catholic Church. Jesuit education was mainly aimed at mastering poetic and rhetorical patterns that developed oratory skills so needed in social and political life. Such a teaching model also had a practical dimension, as it enabled to effectively solicit the support of political and religious elites needed for the development of educational projects. Hence the occasional literature that was so popular at that time, which praised benefactors, bishops and rulers. The addressees of such a type of works were also Uniate bishops, to whom a whole complex of panegyric works was devoted. The influence of the Jesuits on the religious life of the Przemyśl eparchy, both Catholic and Uniate, was finally manifested through the cult of saints associated with the Society of Jesus (SJ). Among the Jesuit saints, Stanisław Kostka or Ignacy Loyola should be mentioned, but also John of Nepomuk, recognised as the patron of the Jesuits, who died long before the rise of the SJ. Although the cult of the aforementioned saints was not sanctioned in the Uniate church, it was, especially among the hierarchy and clergy, an element of the religious life of the multi-religious community of the cultural borderland, which was and has remained the eparchy of Przemyśl to this day.

The Second Vatican Council and subsequent post-conciliar theology introduced significant changes not only in the understanding of the Church itself, but also in its attitude toward the outside world. The starting point of the reflection is to show the formation of the Church, which includes five stages of the continuous formation of a community of disciples of Jesus Christ. Each of these ecclesiastical stages remains in a different relation to the non-religious environment, which also has its achievements and enjoys its own autonomy. The article „Christian and secular culture in the light of (post)conciliar ecclesiology. Their Unity in Dissimilarity” is an attempt to demonstrate the necessity and inalienability of the dialogue between the Church and the world, which is to be carried out especially in the space of culture. Both the Church and the world need culture for their existence and further development. Both entities also produce culture. Throughout its history, the ecclesial community of the Triune God remains in tension with the world around it. On the one hand: Christians and the world around them have many points in common in their mutual service to every human being and all of creation, and on the other: Christianity in its uniqueness remains absolutely and completely different, from what the world is with its secular culture.

Yucca House National Monument (YUHO) in southwestern Colorado protects unexcavated archeological structures that were constructed by the Ancestral Puebloan people between 1050 and 1300 CE. It was established by Woodrow Wilson by presidential proclamation in 1919 and named “Yucca House” by archeologist Jesse Fewkes as a reference to the names used for this area by the local Ute, Tewa Pueblo, and other Native groups. It was originally only 3.9 ha (9.6 ac) of land, but in 1990, an additional 9.7 ha (24 ac) of land was donated by Hallie Ismay, allowing for the protection of additional archeological resources. Another acquisition of new land is currently underway, which will allow for the protection of even more archeological sites. The archeological resources at YUHO remain unexcavated to preserve the integrity of the structures and provide opportunities for future generations of scientists. One of the factors that contributed to the Ancestral Puebloans settling in the area was the presence of natural springs. These springs likely provided enough water to sustain the population, and the Ancestral Puebloans built structures around one of the larger springs, Aztec Spring. Yet, geologic features and processes were shaping the area of southwest Colorado long before the Ancestral Puebloans constructed their dwellings. The geologic history of YUHO spans millions of years. The oldest geologic unit exposed in the monument is the Late Cretaceous Juana Lopez Member of the Mancos Shale. During the deposition of the Mancos Shale, southwestern Colorado was at the bottom of an inland seaway. Beginning about 100 million years ago, sea level rose and flooded the interior of North America, creating the Western Interior Seaway, which hosted a thriving marine ecosystem. The fossiliferous Juana Lopez Member preserves this marine environment, including the organisms that inhabited it. The Juana Lopez Member has yielded a variety of marine fossils, including clams, oysters, ammonites, and vertebrates from within YUHO and the surrounding area. There are four species of fossil bivalves (the group including clams and oysters) found within YUHO: Cameleolopha lugubris, Inoceramus dimidius, Inoceramus perplexus, and Pycnodonte sp. or Rhynchostreon sp. There are six species of ammonites in three genera found within YUHO: Baculites undulatus, Baculites yokoyamai, Prionocyclus novimexicanus, Prionocyclus wyomingensis, Scaphites warreni, and Scaphites whitfieldi. There is one unidentifiable vertebrate bone that has been found in YUHO. Fossils within YUHO were first noticed in 1875–1876 by W. H. Holmes, who observed fossils within the building stones of the Ancestral Puebloans’ structures. Nearly half of the building stones in the archeological structures at YUHO are fossiliferous slabs of the Juana Lopez Member. There are outcrops of the Juana Lopez 0.8 km (0.5 mi) to the west of the structures, and it is hypothesized that the Ancestral Puebloans collected the building stones from these or other nearby outcrops. Following the initial observation of fossils, very little paleontology work has been done in the monument. There has only been one study focused on the paleontology and geology of YUHO, which was prepared by paleontologist Mary Griffitts in 2001. As such, this paleontological resource inventory report serves to provide information to YUHO staff for use in formulating management activities and procedures associated with the paleontological resources. In 2021, a paleontological survey of YUHO was conducted to revisit previously known fossiliferous sites, document new fossil localities, and assess collections of YUHO fossils housed at the Mesa Verde National Park Visitor and Research Center. Notable discoveries made during this survey include: several fossils of Cameleolopha lugubris, which had not previously been found within YUHO; and a fossil of Pycnodonte sp. or Rhynchostreon sp. that was previously unknown from within YUHO.
