The article considers the issues of evaluating the quality of integrated reporting in economic entities through using an econometric model. It is proved that the econometric model developed for monitoring the quality of integrated reporting is an effective tool for evaluation. Therefore, the subject matter of the article is an econometric model for quality evaluation of integrated reporting, and the study object is the quality of integrated reporting. Accordingly, the research objective is to develop an econometric model for quality evaluation of integrated reporting. The achievement of the objective requires solving the following tasks: 1) to establish a criterion for developing an econometric model for quality evaluation of integrated reporting; 2) to analyse changes of indicators, which affect the quality of integrated reporting; 3) to develop a correlation matrix for the connection of criteria included in integrated reporting; 4) to determine how indicators, which are included in integrated reporting, affect its quality; to analyse the outcomes of developing an econometric model for quality evaluation of integrated reporting. The proposed methods used for developing an econometric model for quality evaluation of integrated reporting in economic entities are as follows: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction, idealization, generalization, and modeling. The theoretical framework and further elaboration of practical steps towards quality evaluation of integrated reporting through using an econometric model is relevant and important for users of such reporting. The results of international annual competitions on quality evaluation of integrated reporting in European economic entities and enterprises of South Africa are presented. Introducing an econometric model for quality evaluation of integrated reporting is of particular importance for countries in transition. The study proposes approaches for quality evaluation of integrated reporting through using an econometric model. The obtained findings serve as a guide for setting new standards of integrated reporting in entities. In entities, the findings might be used to prepare, submit and make public reporting. In conclusion, the paper outlines future prospects which are aimed at using three more criteria for developing an econometric model of quality evaluation of integrated reporting, namely: 1) disclosure of information on performance in sustainable development; 2) compliance with the recommendations of the International Integrated Reporting Council; 3) interaction between interested parties.

Simulation is a common approach for designing ad hoc network applications, due to the slow deployment of these networks. The main building blocks of ad hoc network applications are the routing protocols, mobility, and traffic models. Several studies, which use synthetic models, show that mobility and traffic have a significant effect on protocol performance. Synthetic models do not realistically reflect the environment where the ad hoc networks will be deployed. In addition, mobility and traffic tools are designed independently of each other, however real trace data challenge that assumption. Indeed, recent protocol performance evaluation using real testbeds show that performance evaluations under real testbeds and simulations that use synthetic models differ significantly. In this paper we consider jointly both real mobility and traffic for protocol performance evaluation. The contributions of this work are as follows: (1) demonstrates that real mobility and traffic are interconnected; (2) announces the design and implementation of WIT –Wireless Integrated Traffic–, which includes the design of a real traffic generator; (3) shows that under real mobility and integrated traffic the performance metrics need to be re-thought, thus we propose availability as a new ad hoc network protocol performance metric; and, finally, (4) evaluates protocol performance under synthetic and real mobility models with integrated traffic. We believe that the results of our work constitute a step forward toward benchmarking of ad hoc network performance evaluations.

The study was to: 1) generate the appropriate evaluation instrument so that the instrument might be implemented in evaluating the Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT, Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu) learning process; 2) identify the effectiveness of the developed evaluation instrument; and 3) identify the description and the criteria in the results of evaluation conducted in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School. The study was categorized as an evaluation research that applied the CIPP evaluation model (the aspects that had been selected were the input and the process), namely the one that referred to the steps in the research and development efforts in order to develop the instrument for evaluating the learning process in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School. The conclusions of the study, then, are as follows: 1) the study has generated the Integrated Islamic Elementary School Learning Process Evaluation Model (P3) and the P3 Model that has been developed refers to the theory of Borg Gall that consists of 9 stages; 2) the P3 Model has a “Very Good” effectiveness based on the reviewer assessment and has met the standards of a tool that might be applied for evaluating the learning process in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School; and 3) the criteria in the P3 Model might provide a factual and overall description regarding the learning process in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School.

Evaluation of educational programs and assessment of learning are essential to maintain high-standard health science education, which includes pain education. Current models of program evaluations applied to the education of the health professions, such as the Kirkpatrick model, are mainly outcome based. More recently, efforts have been made to examine other process-based models such as the Context Input Process Product model. The present article proposes an approach that integrates both outcome- and process-based models with models of clinical performance assessment to provide a deeper understanding of a program function. Because assessment instruments are a critical part of program evaluation, it is suggested that standardization and rigour should be used in their selection, development and adaptation. The present article suggests an alternative to currently used models in pain education evaluation.

During on-site teaching for university students, the level of concentration of every student is an important indicator for the evaluation of teaching quality. Traditionally, teachers rely on subjective methods for observing students’ learning status. Due to the volume of on-site crowds, teachers are unable to stay on top of the learning status of each student. Meanwhile, because of the subjective evaluation, the results would not be precise. With the fast development of artificial intelligence and machine learning, it is possible to adopt deep learning technology to achieve scientific evaluation of the classroom teaching quality. This paper proposes an integrated evaluation model based on deep learning technology, incorporating YOLOX model, Retinaface model, and SCN model. Among which, YOLOX model is used to detect the area of the students’ upper body, Retinaface model is adopted to assess the head-up rate, and SCN model is used to recognize the facial expression. The experimental results have shown that our model can achieve 93.1% object detection accuracy, more than 85% face recognition accuracy, and 87.39% expression recognition accuracy. We further develop a model to use the combination of head-up rate and facial expression scores to jointly evaluate classroom teaching quality. Five teaching professors’ evaluations of our classroom video images confirmed that our proposed model is effective in objectively evaluating the on-site teaching quality.

Knowledge transmission and knowledge construction are two common approaches adopted for teaching and learning in higher education. Applying the two different approaches, this paper developed an evaluation model of teaching and learning, which comprises three main conceptual blocks: teaching, learning and learning assistance. A quantitative survey was utilised, collecting data from the Student Assessment of Learning Gains (SALG) along with the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) from 108 randomly selected courses at a university in Taiwan. The results demonstrated an R² value of 0.794. The route between teaching and learning was not statistically significant (t=0.0359), indicating that knowledge is constructed in the mind of the student with learning assistance as the mediator.

The MIT Integrated Global System Model (IGSM) is designed for analyzing the global environmental changes that may result from anthropogenic causes, quantifying the uncertainties associated with the projected changes, and assessing the costs and environmental effectiveness of proposed policies to mitigate climate risk. This report documents Version 2 of the IGSM, which like the previous version, includes an economic model for analysis of greenhouse gas and aerosol precursor emissions and mitigation proposals, a coupled atmosphere-ocean-land surface model with interactive chemistry, and models of natural ecosystems. In this global framework the outputs of the combined anthropogenic and natural emissions models provide the driving forces for the coupled atmospheric chemistry and climate models. Climate model outputs then drive a terrestrial model predicting water and energy budgets, CO2, CH4, and N2O fluxes, and soil composition, which feed back to the coupled climate/chemistry model. The first version of the integrated framework (which we will term IGSM1) is described in Prinn et al. (1999) and in publications and Joint Program Reports and Technical Notes provided on the Program’s website (http://mit.edu/globalchange/). Subsequently, upgrades of component model capabilities have been achieved, allowing more comprehensive and realistic studies of global change. Highlights of these improvements include: a substantially improved economics model, needed to provide emissions projections and to assess an increasingly complex policy environment; a new global terrestrial model comprised of state-of-the-art biogeophysical, ecological and natural biogeochemical flux components, which provides an improved capacity to study consequences of hydrologic and ecologic change; the addition of a three-dimensional ocean representation, replacing the previous two-dimensional model, which allows examination of the global thermohaline circulation and its associated climate change impacts; the addition of an explicit oceanic carbon cycle including the impact of the biological pump; the addition of a new urban air pollution model enabling better treatments of human health and climate impacts; and the addition of greater flexibility for study of terrestrial ecosystem and urban pollution effects. This report documents the essential features of the new IGSM structure.

The demand for aviation has been steadily growing over the past few decades and will keep increasing in the future. The anticipated growth of traffic demand will cause the current airspace system, one that is already burdened by heavy operations and inefficient usage, to become even more congested than its current state. Because busy airports in the United States (U.S.) are becoming "bottlenecks" of the National Airspace System (NAS), it is of great importance to discover the most efficient means of using existing facilities to improve airport operations. This dissertation aims at designing an efficient airport surface operations management system that substantially contributes to the modernized NAS. First, a global comparison is conducted in the major airports within the U.S. and Europe in order to understand, compare, and explore the differences of surface operational efficiency in two systems. The comparison results are then presented for each airport pair with respect to various operational performance metrics, as well as airport capacity and different demand patterns. A detailed summary of the associated Air Traffic Management (ATM) strategies that are implemented in the U.S. and Europe can be found towards the end of this work. These strategies include: a single Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) in the U.S. and multiple ANSPs in Europe, airline scheduling and demand management differences, mixed usage of Instrument Flight Rule (IFR) and Visual Flight Rules (VFR) operations in the U.S., and varying gate management policies in two regions. For global comparison, unimpeded taxi time is the reference time used for measuring taxi performance. It has been noted that different methodologies are currently used to benchmark taxi times by the performance analysis groups in the U.S. and Europe, namely the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and EUROCONTROL. The consistent methodology to measure taxi efficiency is needed for the facilitation of global benchmarking. Therefore, after an in-depth factual comparison conducted for two varying methodologies, new methods to measure unimpeded taxi times are explored through various tools, including simulation software and projection of historical surveillance data. Moreover, a sophisticated statistical model is proposed as a state-of-the-art method to measure taxi efficiency while quantifying the impact of various factors to taxi inefficiency and supporting decision-makers with reliable measurements to improve the operational performance. Lastly, a real-time integrated airport surface operations management (RTI-ASOM) is presented to fulfil the third objective of this dissertation. It provides optimal trajectories for each aircraft between gates and runways with the objective of minimizing taxi delay and maximizing runway throughput. The use of Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MIP) formulation, Dynamic Programming for decomposition, and CPLEX optimization can permit the use of an efficient solution algorithm that can instantly solve the large-scale optimization problem. Examples are shown based on one-day track data at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City. In additional to base scenarios with historical data, simulation through MATLAB is constructed to provide further comparable scenarios, which can demonstrate a significant reduction of taxi times and improvement of runway utilization in RTI-ASOM. By strategically holding departures at gates, the application of RTI-ASOM also reduces excess delay on the airport surface, decreases fuel consumption at airports, and mitigates the consequential environmental impacts.

The primary objective of this study is to develop an integrated public transportation planning framework to evaluate and plan Advanced Public Transportation Systems (APTS). With this purpose, a systems approach point of view is adopted to study the influence of new APTS technology in supply and demand transit variables. In this project the Systems Dynamics methodology is adopted to track the dynamic behavior of model variables and feedback loops forming among them. The proposed framework is illustrated in a case study involving automated vehicle location systems (AVL) applied to a small transit community. The proposed approach follows the same steps of the Systems Dynamics method; First, identify some key variables which are not only susceptive to AVL technology but also affect the supply-demand relationship of a bus transit environment. Second, trace and simplify the causal relationships of the variables considering impacts of facility supply changes to passenger demand responses and vice versa. To accomplish this, four detailed sub-models representing parts of the transit system are developed and combined under the Systems Dynamics methodology point of view. Theses Sub-models are: 1) demography, 2) urban transportation planning, 3) bus operations, and 4) evaluation. Finally, to validate the model procedure, the model is applied to a case study. This study attempts to encompass as many as possible factors around a bus transit system environment which can be impacted by new APTS technology to illustrate the use of the proposed framework. Some of these factors include: 1) Demographic characteristics; 2) urban or social activity of the study area and 3) changes to transportation facilities. The case study illustrates how the physical characteristics of the transit systems such as traffic demand, traffic conditions along the transit route, route layout, and bus performance can be affected by the new technology. Since APTS impacts are time dependent a continuous multi-loop simulation technique is adopted to track dynamic changes of all model variables. The analysis of the transit system is carried over a 20-year life cycle to illustrate the long term dynamics of the feedback structures inherent in the model. [Vita removed Aug. 2, 2010. GMc]

The history of psychiatry is littered with serious failures of governance, to the detriment of mentally disordered people, especially those resident in psychiatric hospitals. Current mental health providers, increasingly focussed on community care, have also struggled to develop effective internal governance systems. Nine peer-reviewed research papers, published by the author (mostly with others) and the wider literature, reveal deficits in mental health governance at a jurisdictional, professional, and corporate level. In this thesis new governance solutions are developed against this background, built on contemporary principles in mental health and healthcare management. A new model of mental health governance is presented, based on the key demands of the strategic and regulatory environment, articulated as rights, risks and recovery. This integrated healthcare governance approach, covering provider policy, staff training and service audit, can monitor and ensure the protection of patients’ rights, as well as those of others; it also promotes the management of clinical risks, and of patients’ recovery outcomes. Rights-based risk-reduction training is the core interventional element of the model, whilst the monitoring element can be formalised as part of a Balanced Scorecard reporting system. This thesis makes a contribution to research methodology, theory and practice in mental health, human rights, healthcare management and governance. The model generates specific propositions for testing in mental health governance, with the potential for application in wider settings of service provision.

In the monograph reviewed the development of the inventory management of railway transport in the new economic environment of market economy. According to the results of theoretical research, innovative and production potential of the supply system of railway transport the main directions and methods of transformation of the restructuring process under the corporate changes of JSC "RZD", positioned value system of the logistics of railway transportation, and developed a classification model used logistical resources. Evaluation of activity of structural divisions of Russian Railways supply is proposed to be viewed through an integrated and comprehensive approach to the development of systems of balanced indicators of supply and prompt handling of material resources, the implementation of which allows to distribute the strategic objectives of the company "Russian Railways" activities in the system of logistics of the Railways and also to involve in economic circulation of excessive and unused inventories of material and technical resources and efficiently reallocate them among enterprises at the site of the railway. Recommendations for the implementation of the developed algorithms and models are long term in nature and are based on the concept of logistics management and improve the business processes of the logistics system. Will be useful for managers and specialists of directorates of logistics of Russian Railways supply, undergraduates and graduate students interested in the economy of railway transport.

Abstract The main goal of this work is to evaluate and select the best strategy for the development of the field in the first stage of development. To solve this problem, a full-scale integrated model was created that takes into account the physics of the reservoir, wells and surface infrastructure, as well as their mutual influence. The integrated model was calculated for the full development of the asset. The integrated model of the A. Zhagrin field is based on three simulation models, well models and surface infrastructure, which are linked through an integrator program. All constituent parts of the model are configured to accurately reproduce their actual operation. Greenfield is characterized as active drilling, so the planned well count is modeled by replacing wells with "typical" well models, which are selected by taking into account the expected input flow rate, well design, well completion and well trajectory. Fields of the first stage of development are characterized by limitations related to oil transportation and treatment. These constraints are also specified and taken into account in the model The concept of surface infrastructure is formed depending on the potential production capabilities of the reservoir and has considerable variability. The total number of actual and planned wells in the field is more than 1,300, including more than 700 production wells and about 600 injection wells. All wells are ESP lifted. Considering infrastructure capacity constraints and requirements for optimal pipeline utilization, the use of different numbers of drilling rigs directly affecting the utilization of oil treatment and delivery facilities was evaluated. 29 main variations of the field development strategy until 2060 were formed and calculated, based on the integrated model. The main parameters of variation were the capacity of preparation facilities, the degree of oil separation, the scheme of product transportation, gas utilization capabilities, drilling rigs and subsurface equipment. All scenarios in the integrated model took into account constraints - on target bottomhole, wellhead and line pressures, in order to operate real facilities in accident-free mode. In the course of calculations, an optimal scenario was selected, which made it possible to increase oil production in 2021 by optimizing the transportation of produced products to the treatment facilities. This scenario formed the basis of the asset development strategy.

Numerous extant studies are dedicated to enhancing the safety of active transportation modes, but very few studies are devoted to safety analysis surrounding transit stations, which serve as an important modal interface for pedestrians and bicyclists. This study bridges the gap by developing joint models based on the multivariate conditionally autoregressive (MCAR) priors with a distance-oriented neighboring weight matrix. For this purpose, transit-station-centered data in Los Angeles County were used for model development. Feature selection relying on both random forest and correlation analyses was employed, which leads to different covariate inputs to each of the two jointed models, resulting in increased model flexibility. Utilizing an Integrated Nested Laplace Approximation (INLA) algorithm and various evaluation criteria, the results demonstrate that models with a correlation effect between pedestrians and bicyclists perform much better than the models without such an effect. The joint models also aid in identifying significant covariates contributing to the safety of each of the two active transportation modes. The research results can furnish transportation professionals with additional insights to create safer access to transit and thus promote active transportation.

Tap and Reposition Youth (TRY) was a four-year initiative undertaken by the Population Council and K-Rep Development Agency to reduce adolescents’ vulnerabilities to adverse social and reproductive health outcomes by improving livelihoods options. The project targeted out-of-school adolescent girls and young women aged 16–22 residing in low-income and slum areas of Nairobi. TRY used a modified group-based micro-finance model to extend integrated savings, credit, business support, and mentoring to out-of-school adolescents and young women. A longitudinal study of participants was conducted with a matched comparison group identified through cross-sectional community-based studies, undertaken at baseline and endline to enable an assessment of changes associated with the project. This report states that 326 participants and their controls were interviewed at baseline and 222 pairs were interviewed at endline. The results suggest that rigorous micro-finance models may be appropriate for a subset of girls, especially those who are older and less vulnerable. The impact on noneconomic indicators is less clear. Additional experimentation and adaptation is required to develop livelihoods models that acknowledge and respond to the particular situation of adolescent girls.

This report documents the development of an integrated hydrodynamic and ecological model to test assumptions about island resilience. Swan Island, a 25-acre island in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, was used as a case study. An interagency, interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers came together in a series of workshops to develop a simplified resilience model to examine the ability of islands to reduce waves and erosion and the impacts to nearby habitats and shorelines. This report describes the model development process and the results from this first key step: model conceptualization. The final conceptual model identifies four main components: vegetative biomass, island elevation, waves/currents, and sediment supply. These components interact to form and support specific habitat types occurring on the island: coastal dunes, high marsh, low marsh, and submerged aquatic vegetation. The pre-and post-construction field data, coupled with hydrodynamic ecological models, will provide predictive capabilities of island resilience and evaluations of accrued benefits for future island creation and restoration projects. The process and methods described can be applied to island projects in a variety of regions and geographic scales.

The Journey to El Yunque program was designed using the cognitive apprenticeship model. Students analyze the same data that scientists in the rainforest use for their research, while at the same time, covering all of the national middle school ecology standards. In this study we seek to build a framework that integrates design-based research methods with traditional evaluation. The resulting enactment of the curriculum provides formative feedback about the curriculum as well as about the design model itself. An ecology assessment was developed using publicly released state assessment items. A quasiexperimental design study was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the beta version of the program. The results show that Journey to El Yunque was more effective at helping students learn population dynamics, while the traditional ecology curriculum was more effective at helping students understand energy flow definitions. This difference in performance is consistent with the underlying design based on the cognitive apprenticeship model.
