Dans mon adolescence, j’ai été familiarisé avec un mode de vie inscrit dans une longue provenance d’autosuffisance où même le sucre venait de la parcelle en bois debout, l’érablière, un lieu de festivités annuelles pour célébrer l’arrivée du printemps. En 1977, après la publication de quatre ouvrages à succès sur la culture matérielle traditionnelle québécoise, la Société Radio-Canada a accepté ma proposition d’une grande série de documentaires sur notre histoire populaire en utilisant les discours de l’objet. L’époque est à la quête d’identité et à la chasse de tout bien culturel de sens pour rencontrer ces aïeux qui ont inventé notre pays. Dans cet examen, à titre d’exemple, le temps des sucres donnera lieu à deux films de trente minutes tournés à Cap-Saint-Ignace, en 1979, dans la famille de Viateur Richard. Le sujet est traité rigoureusement de façon ethnologique et applique un mode de scénarisation et de tournage efficaces pour rencontrer nos objectifs de transmission du savoir et les budgets disponibles.

RésuméCet article examine la relation entre l’irrigation et l’État égyptien antique. En dépit de la persistance de la théorie de la «bureaucratie hydraulique» développée par Engels, Marx et Weber, et de ce que l’on appelle «l’hypothèse hydraulique» de Karl Wittfogel, il n’y a pas de preuve permettant d’établir un lien entre le système d’irrigation et une forme de gouvernement «despotique» en Égypte antique. L’idéologie du contrôle centralisé doit être soigneusement distinguée de la nature diffuse du contrôle de l’eau. Durant la plus grande partie de son histoire, l’exploitation de la terre, en Égypte, a été organisée dans des bassins inondables, et l’irrigation suivait le rythme annuel des crues et des décrues. Ce n’est qu’à partir du XIXesiècle de notre ère, avec le concept d’un État mercantiliste, et la construction des barrages et déversoirs, la culture de rapport du coton et de la canne à sucre, que l’irrigation permanente est devenue courante. L’irrigation artificielle est connue depuis les débuts de l’État unifié (environ 3100 avant J.-C.) mais, jusqu’à l’époque romaine, son utilisation était limitée. Cette interprétation générale de la relation entre irrigation et État a des conséquences importantes pour la compréhension de l’intervention ptolémaïque en Égypte. En dépit de la planification centrale antérieure et du modèle étatiste des Ptolémées, l’économie agraire, comme cela avait été le cas auparavant, était à cette période plus réactive que planifiée, et elle se fondait sur la structure administrative locale pour taxer la production agricole.

Jusqu'à l'indépendance en 1968, l'Île Maurice a dépendu de la monoproduction sucrière. Fragilisée par un système reposant sur la monoéconomie, elle s'est engagée, ces trente dernières années dans la voie de la diversification agricole et de la modernisation économique, mais pour cela, elle a dû compter sur la force des sucriers. Les capitaux issus du sucre, alors seul vecteur de l'économie mauricienne, allaient être investis vers de nouveaux objectifs modernes que sont la zone franche mise en place par le gouvernement en 1970, et le tourisme. Aujourd'hui, les franco-mauriciens, tout en continuant à maitriser les capitaux sucriers, sont à la tête du principal groupe textile de la zone franche (Floréal), et des plus grands hôtels mauriciens, appartenant aux groupes Sun et Beach-Comber. Descendants des premiers immigrés français, arrivés au début de la colonisation au 18 e siècle, les franco-mauriciens ne représentent qu'une très faible minorité dans la composition pluri-ethnique de l'Île Maurice. Estimés à environ 7000, ils composent moins de 1% de la population totale. Très attachée à ses origines, la communauté franco-mauricienne semble être figée dans une structure sociale traditionnelle. La famille y joue un rôle prédominant et déterminant. Le système de l'endogamie est encore très fréquent et explique la "préservation ethnique" du groupe. L'ouverture sur les autres communautés reste essentiellement socio-économique. C'est la très forte cohésion sociale interne du groupe qui, tout en étant traditionnelle, explique la force économique dynamique dans laquelle évolue le groupe franco-mauricien. Weakened by a system relying on a mono-economy, it engaged itself for the past 30 years toward the agricultural diversification and the modernisation of its economy. In order to do that, it had to rely on the sugar manufacturer's behalf. The capitals coming from the sugar, at that time was the only vector on the Mauritian economy which was going to be invested towards new and modern objectives, being the E. P. Z. (export processing zone), installed by the government in 1970, and the tourist industry. Today the Franco Mauritians continue to master the capital from the sugar manufactures, control the major textile group of the E. P. Z. (Floreal knitwear) and the most prestigious hotels belonging to the sun and beach-comber groups. Coming from the first French migrators at the early days of colonisation in the 18th century, the Franco Mauritians today only represent a very small minority in this multi-ethnic community of Mauritius. Approximately 7000, they make less than 1% of the total population. Extremely attached to their origins, the Franco Mauritians seem to have stay in a traditional social structure. The family still plays a predominant and determinant role. The endogamy system is still frequent and explains the "preservation of the ethnic group". The opening up towards the other communities remains essentially socio-economic. It's the strong social cohesion among the group, being traditional, which explains it's economic and dynamic strength in which evoluate the Franco Mauritian group. A short fail in this social cohesion will, without any doubt, weaken the economy of this community

Le secteur betteravier, qui connait une profonde restructuration depuis les annees cinquante, illustre les mutations actuelles d'une agriculture francaise toujours plus integree au sein de filieres de production. La culture, marquee par une revolution technique et genetique a la portee d'un petit nombre d'agriculteurs, s'est fortement concentree dans une categorie d'exploitations au point de devenir une figure de la grande culture. Ce mouvement a ete favorise par les industriels sucriers, a la recherche de meilleurs couts de production : la rationalisation des aires d'approvisionnement des sucreries et des modes de collecte, la modification des normes contractuelles ont provoque nombre d'abandons en petite culture au profit d'exploitations moyennes a grandes. A l'evidence, le reseau agro-alimentaire, par ses choix et ses directives, a oeuvre dans le sens de la "selection". Enfin, le contingentement ou systeme de quotas de production, en voie de generalisation dans l'europe verte, apparait comme un levier majeur de cette restructuration. Une nouvelle geographie betteraviere se dessine ainsi, a la faveur du tassement de certaines regions traditionnelles (nord-pas-de-calais) et de l'emergence de regions neuves promptes a repondre efficacement a la demande des fabricants, voire a l'anticiper (champagne-ardenne). Emile Bougenot (1838-1925) gadzart de la promotion 1856 de Chalons, joue un rôle déterminant dans l'implantation des usines centrales, à la Martinique à compter de 1860. Il reste que l'important, est l'impact de la masse des usines centrales dans l'espace social de la Martinique : cette orientation permet donc de dépasser un intérêt strictement biographique. Emile Bougenot est : l'innovateur qui lance une société par actions pour créer l'usine centrale à vapeur du François en 1867 ; l'entrepreneur qui a le sens de la gestion rigoureuse d'entreprise; le "bon père de famille" soucieux d'augmenter le patrimoine familial; l'homme de son époque qui investit dans le développement industriel, les chemins de fer et participe aux expositions universelles. Nous avons mis en évidence : le gain de productivité qui résulte de l'utilisation de la vapeur comme véhicule de la chaleur, produite par combustion de la bagasse, dans la fabrication du sucre; le fait que cette fabrication qui relève de l'histoire des techniques, est tributaire de l'apport de Norbert Rillieux, en particulier, par son brevet d'invention de 1843 qui a déterminé une véritable activité industrielle. Il n'y a pas eu révolution industrielle à la Martinique de 1860 à 1900, mais un transfert de technologie. Emile Bougenot as an innovator who created in 1867 the first central steam cane sugar factory in the town of François by the means of a joint stock company ; but he was also a contractor who had a rigourous firm management; a "bon père de famille" who desired to increase his family's capital; finally his was a man in his time who inverted in industrial development, railroads, insurance and banking companies; in addition, he brought his contribution to universal expositions (1911, Bruxelles). In our development we insist on the increase of productivity due to the use of steam as a conductor of heat. The steam is produced by bagass combustion in making cane sugar. We also deal with the fact owing to Norbert Rillieux's patent of 1843. There was no industrial revolution in Martinique from 1860 to 1900, but only a technological transfer

La production de sucre de l'île de la Réunion baisse régulièrement depuis plus de 10 ans. Il s'agit d'une crise structurelle que nous analysons à l'aide des concepts de l'économie des institutions. L'analyse rétrospective de la dynamique économique de la filière apporte les clés d'interprétation pour comprendre la crise actuelle. Nous montrons en effet que les crises structurelles antérieures trouvent leur origine dans l'évolution des formes institutionnelles globales avec lesquelles la filière est articulée. Toutefois, ces crises sont surmontées par un changement des dispositifs institutionnels spécifiques. La filière renoue avec une phase de croissance stable à partir du moment où les structures productives, les formes d'organisation du travail, les formes de coordination spécifiques redeviennent compatibles avec les formes institutionnelles globales que sont les marchés du sucre et les politiques économiques pour l'outre-mer français. Nous avons caractérisé trois grandes périodes par les formes sociales de production dominantes. Le temps de l'habitation est celui de la genèse de la filière (1815-1881), le temps de l'établissement correspond à une phase de domination des complexes agro-industriels (1881-1974), enfin le temps de l'exploitation familiale est marqué par l'intervention croissante des pouvoirs publics (1974-1994). Chacune de ces périodes comprend une phase d'accumulation stable puis une phase de crise qui remet en cause les dispositifs institutionnels spécifiques. La crise actuelle marque la fin du mode de régulation fondé essentiellement sur l'exploitation familiale en monoculture de canne à sucre et l'interventionnisme de l'État. Le caractère tardif de l'implantation de l'industrie sucrière à Bourbon La Réunion (entre 1783 et 1810), la délimitation naturelle d'un espace insulaire permettent d'étudier la "mise en sucre" de l'île, autrement qu'à travers les seuls schémas macroéconomiques, et véritablement à hauteur d'usine. Pourquoi un roseau, jusque là utilisé pour l'alcool, a-t-il été employé pour le sucre ? En quoi l'absence de tradition sucrière a-t-elle influé sur les choix technologiques, favorisé le développement de l'industrie, comment fut abordée la question de l'innovation, mis en oeuvre un modèle technique local qui alors s'exporte dans la zone, aux Antilles, au Brésil, jusque dans la presqu'île de Malacca ? Comment l'esclavage, par sa rigidité, a-t-il fini par entraver l'action des planteurs devenus entrepreneurs, et dont l'usine devient dès lors le "chaînon manquant" entre l'échec de la première abolition (1794-1796) et la réussite de la seconde (20 décembre 1848) ?The introduction of the sugar industry in Bourbon island being a relatively recent phenomenon to have taken place within the natural frontiers of an insular region makes it possible to study the actual sugar production in a manner that differs from the sole macroeconomic approach, and could truly be analysed at factory level. Why has a plant, that up till then had been farmed to produce alcohol, been subsequently used to produce sugar ? What incidence has the lack of a sugar-producing tradition had on technological options ? How has it favoured the development of that industry, tackled the problem of the innovation process, and implemented a local technical model that was to be exported within the region, to the Malayan Straits, and as far as the West Indies and Brazil ? In what way has slavery, on account of its inflexibility, finally impeded the action of the planters turned entrepreneurs whose factories have, from then on, become the "missing link" between the failure of the first abolition (1794-1796) and the success of the second (1848) ?

L’abolition de la traite des noirs de 1817 intervient au moment où l’île de la Réunion choisit de se tourner vers la monoculture du sucre. Comment et par quels moyens le gouvernement local allait-il pouvoir porter son concours à la stratégie économique de la colonie française des Mascareignes ? Pendant près de vingt ans, les habitants bourbonnais recourront à l’immigration contractuelle qualifiée d’engagisme ou d’engagement. Il est extrêmement périlleux de donner des statistiques précises dans un contexte où l’administration coloniale fut confrontée à une part importante de trafic clandestin des mains d’œuvres. Cependant, l’apport politique nous paraît indéniable au regard de l’œuvre légale produite pendant tout un siècle. Le contrat d’engagement s’adressa prioritairement aux nouveaux immigrants mais aussi aux affranchis de 1848. C’est dire que le statut du travailleur de masse releva davantage du domaine social prédominé par les habitudes des anciens maîtres que du strict domaine de la légalité ou du tout juridique. Cette recherche est consacrée à l'analyse de la pratique sociale de la Commission Pastorale de la Terre Nordeste 2 (CPT NE 2), une organisation laïque de l'Église catholique, dans la région Nordeste. Au service des travailleurs agricoles et des paysans sans terre, dans la lutte pour la réforme agraire, l'organisation opère dans la partie septentrionale de la zone de la canne à sucre de l'État du Pernambouc (Brésil). L'étude porte sur la période qui court entre 1988, année de sa naissance, et le début des années 2000, moment où diminue sa participation aux conflits fonciers et dans les mouvements d'occupation de terres. La principale problématique interroge les actions de la CPT en milieu rural afin de comprendre si elle incarne une forme inédite d'engagement social ou, selon les termes de ses acteurs, "une nouvelle manière d'être Église". Pour ce faire, nous l'analysons, dans un premier temps, en regard des organisations catholiques antérieures, nées au début des années 1960, dans le cadre de l'Action Catholique Rurale. Entre ces JAC, MEB, SORPE, ACR, MER et autres PR NE 2 et la CPT, quelle est la part des continuités et des ruptures ? Ensuite, l'organisation est abordée à l'aune de son engagement dans la lutte pour la réforme agraire, des mobilisations sociales auxquelles elle participe et de ses rapports aux autres acteurs sociaux : MST, STRs, FETAPE, monde politique et autorités publiques, afin d'identifier ses formes d'action et définir leur originalité. En dernier lieu, sa pratique est analysée à partir du milieu social, des matrices socio-religieuses d'où sont issus ses acteurs et les médiateurs qui transmettent la mémoire sociale d'Église dans la région.Enfin, la recherche vise aussi à définir en quoi et jusqu'où les modes d'action et les acteurs de la CPT NE 2 relèvent des formes de mobilisation des Nouveaux Mouvements Sociaux (NMS) qui agissent en Amérique Latine et, notamment, au Brésil, à partir des années 1980.

The Historia Sicula of the so-called Anonimus Vaticanus, titled by some manuscripts Chronica Roberti Biscardi et fratrum ac Rogerii comitis Mileti, is interesting for two reasons: it offers a useful narrative of the history of southern Italy between the 11th and 13th centuries; moreover, it represents a fairly typical example of historiographical compilation. It lacks an author and a sure title; contains information that partially coincides with the so-called Malaterra; it has a distinctly bipartite textual tradition, in which one branch arrives at the death of Roger I of Altavilla (1101), the second at the beginning of Vespers (1282); has structural inconsistencies; some significant fragments are also incorporated in other texts. This article focuses on the typical processes of aggregative construction of many late medieval chronicles characterized by a low gradient of authorship: they are “liquid texts” par excellence, because they constantly adapt themselves to the multiple needs of other more or less aware chroniclers, compilers, copyists.

Le lait a une place importante dans le régime alimentaire d’un certain nombre de nos sociétés modernes, en particulier sur le continent européen. Pourtant, le lait n’est entré dans notre régime alimentaire que tardivement. En effet, ce n’est qu’avec la domestication des bovins, brebis et chèvres il y a plus de 10 000 ans, que l’homme a commencé à consommer du lait. Le lait frais est riche en lactose, le « sucre du lait », et sa consommation par des individus qui y sont intolérants peut provoquer des troubles digestifs. Pourtant, de nos jours, un adulte sur trois dans le monde peut digérer le lactose grâce à la production de l’enzyme lactase permettant l’hydrolyse du lactose en glucose et galactose. En Europe, la production de lactase à l’âge adulte est due à une seule mutation (-13910*T) dans le génome humain. Cette adaptation à la consommation de lait frais depuis la Préhistoire suggère une pression de sélection forte dans la population européenne. Tandis que l’analyse d’ADN ancien d’individus du début du Néolithique n’a pas permis de détecter cet allèle, il apparaît chez une proportion plus importante d’individus plusieurs millénaires après la domestication des bovins et caprinés. Outre les analyses génétiques permettant de détecter si les premiers agriculteurs avaient la capacité de digérer le lactose, la problématique de l’exploitation du lait pendant la préhistoire peut être abordée à partir des restes des animaux domestiques. L’étude des ossements animaux découverts sur les sites archéologiques permet d’avoir accès aux stratégies d’abattage des bovins et caprinés, et donc à la gestion démographique des troupeaux. Les courbes d’abattage ont permis de montrer que les caprinés étaient exploités pour leur lait dès le Néolithique précéramique. D’autres méthodes complémentaires des courbes d’abattage, les analyses isotopiques des restes dentaires animaux (bovins et caprinés), permettent d’établir la saisonnalité des naissances et l’âge au sevrage. Bien que relativement récentes, ces études ont déjà montré un sevrage précoce des veaux dans certains sites néolithiques, probablement en lien avec une durée de lactation plus courte chez les vaches néolithiques. L’étude de tessons de poterie est aussi un champ d’investigation précieux pour examiner les débuts de l’exploitation laitière. L’identification de lipides issus de lait dans des poteries du VIIe millénaire a permis de montrer que le lait était bien une denrée alimentaire au Proche-Orient. De même, la présence de résidus laitiers dans des récipients perforés découverts dans des sites archéologiques du début du Ve millénaire a permis d’identifier la production de fromages. Les approches génétique, archéozoologique et biomoléculaire restent complémentaires pour élucider les débuts de l’histoire de l’exploitation laitière.

From traditional dishes passed down through generations to modern interpretations of classic recipes [1], Romanian cuisine offers a unique and flavorful experience that is sure to tantalize the taste buds of even the most discerning travelers. One of the best ways to experience Romanian gastronomic culture is through culinary tourism, a growing trend that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the local food scene and learn about the history and traditions behind each dish [4,6]. From bustling food markets to cozy family-run restaurants, there are countless opportunities to sample the best that Romania has to offer [7]. Romanian gastronomic heritage is a rich tapestry of flavors and ingredients that have been passed down through generations. From hearty stews and soups to sweet pastries and tasty cheeses, Romanian cuisine is a reflection of the country�s diverse culture and history [2,8]. However, like many countries, Romania has seen changes in its gastronomic products over time, influenced by factors such as globalization, urbanization, and changing consumer preferences. One of the most significant changes in Romanian traditional gastronomic products has been the introduction of new ingredients and flavors from other countries. For example, Italian pasta dishes and French pastries have become more common in Romanian cuisine, reflecting the influence of European culinary trends [3]. The main contribution of this study, despite these changes, is to prove that there is still a strong appreciation for traditional Romanian gastronomic products, and efforts are being made to preserve and promote them. Many regions of Romania have culinary festivals and events that celebrate traditional dishes and ingredients, and there is a growing interest in organic and locallysourced food products.

Abstract This paper presents a historic overview of the resource and technology for exploration and the production of hydrocarbons that has literally propelled California to be the "Golden State", as well as created modern civilization as we know it today; it is difficult to imagine its elimination by fiat. Also, the paper specifically looks forward into the next challenges for the professionals charged with implementing new applied science to the current policy shift of a steady transition from carbon to the hydrogen economy while "making energy happen" for the consumer. Looking at history one sees California specifically, needs to make technically-based prudent regulatory provisions to make sure the industry is in place and ready with the flexible capacity for an "open-up" of energy in order to deliver resources absent adaptive measures such as idled standby wells or massive reserves in above ground storage. Crisis response to conditions resulting from the lack of robust adaptive infrastructure demands either a high level of capacity/inventory of essentials or a just-in-time response which draws on a large-shared pool of resource or one risks the high impact shocks to the lower quartile Californians.

In the field of ice expeditions, we have three main branches of activity where people go to test, observe, measure and map the ice conditions or performance of certain ship. The practices for conducting such exercise are different depending on the country and region. To organize an expedition or ship testing trip in the Russian Federation and former Soviet Union has always been a challenge. Preparations and planning needs to be started well in advance for getting the permits, and even then when you have all the paperwork done you cannot be sure that the expedition will come true. You need to cross the border to Russia and it may happen that you and the customs officer do not come along in a perfect way. This paper will tell the story of how things should or should not be arranged in the changing legislative atmosphere of Russian Federation. Russian Federation is here only as one example as similar practices can be found also elsewhere on this globe.

There are currently only a few houses who use social media. But with the increasing availability of inexpensive hardware, and prolific networked software, the number of houses who actively communicate online in one way or another is sure to grow. An examination of some tweeting house types from within the context of architecture history and theory reveals some models for how this social architecture might develop.This paper shows that tweeting houses raise concerns that are solidly within the set of questions traditionally addressed by architecture. The tweeting house’s existence depends on acts of translation between different media, some managed by a designer, some automated. The tweeting house actively presents social and tectonic affordances that offer opportunities for engagement, functional and otherwise. And finally, tweeting houses raise issues about the public, external representation of a set of private, internal conditions, some of them personal to the house’s occupants, some of them intended for broader reading. This paper will use examples from the history of architecture, adjacent design disciplines, computer science, science fiction, and hybrid example projects that partake of all of these fields, to show that while the house with a social media account is a unique and new techno-architectural possibility, it is not without history or precedent.

Abstract This paper presents and discusses data on the application of DNA tracers to a waterflood project in Edmisson Clearfork field in Permian Basin, Tx. The field is divided into two sections, West and East. The West section includes five injection wells, fifteen producers and the East section includes two injection wells and nine producers. To fully understand the flow path within both sections, seven unique DNA tracers were selected and injected. In addition, it was desirable to accurately determine water breakthrough through each production well and to evaluate heterogeneity of the formation between the injection and production wells. Furthermore, identification of high and low permeability zones within the reservoir was identified. Reservoir properties such as drainage area, porosity, water saturation, connate water saturation and water injection rate per well along with the minimum detection limit of DNA tracers were used to calculate the amount of DNA tracers needed to inject in each injection well. A robust sampling schedule was used to make sure an early detection of tracer(s) at each production well. A selected number of samples were used for analyses of tracers. Other samples were kept for future analyses as needed depending on tracer response curve between each injection well and producer.

Cada vez son más numerosos y esenciales los estudios feministas que revalorizan las historias y contribuciones de mujeres arquitectas, proponiendo nuevos relatos sobre la historia de la arquitectura, en los que los archivos desempeñan un papel fundamental. En este artículo, se aborda cómo una lectura de género de los archivos de un proyecto moderno belga condujo a utilizar la ética feminista del cuidado como herramienta de análisis crítico y como postura de investigación. El ‘grand ensemble’Droixhe, construido en Lieja en los años 50, ofrece viviendas sociales, espacios verdes y diversas instalaciones destinadas a las tareas domésticas y al cuidado. Durante las siguientes décadas, el barrio sufre una serie de transformaciones que conllevan a la desaparición de estos espacio colectivos y a la degradación del conjunto en general. Por un lado, la ética del cuidado como gafas/lente de análisis permite observar, revelar y criticar el lugar del cuidado en este conjuto residential y las divergencias entre curar y cuidar (o viceversa). Por otro lado, se utiliza como postura de investigación para preservar y organizar los archivos descuidados e incompletos. Analizando la documentación de Droixhe, es posible trazar la evolución del complejo y revelar una pérdida de cuidado a lo largo de sus transformaciones. Cuestionar los archivos arquitectónicos desde la perspectiva de la ética feminista del cuidado permite una lectura más inclusiva e interseccional de la historia de la arquitectura, donde el género y otras vulnerabilidades no pueden separarse, sino que son un constituyente mutuo. Esto abre nuevas perspectivas para una ciudad más cuidadora, feminista, igualitaria y respetuosa con lo existente y sus habitantes.

This lively discussion will feature brief presentations about how libraries at Carnegie Mellon University and at Kresge Business Administration Library (University of Michigan) have changed in recent history. The presenters will include what worked well and what worked not as well at the two institutions. They will focus on two areas. First, Denise Novak will explore change through five key aspects: nature, process, role, culture and staff participation of change. Second, Corey Seeman will explore change as defined by six key terms: inevitability, rapidity, flexibility, hospitality, accountability, and empathy. Participants at the meeting will be invited to share how change is managed at their institutions and what issues might be present or on the horizon.

1.Introducción: Una Patología Dual se da cuando una persona sufre un problema de salud mental y una adicción. Esta concurrencia no es algo inusual, el 25% de los pacientes que consultan en un dispositivo específico de salud mental son duales. 2.Objetivo: Exponer un caso clínico ejemplo para dar a conocer la patología psiquiátrica dual. 3.Material y métodos: Se describe el caso clínico a través de Historia Clínica Electrónica, historia documentada en UASA Cruz Roja y la propia experiencia clínica. Se realiza una búsqueda bibliográfica en las principales bases de datos (Pubmed, Cochrane y Uptodate). 4. Caso clínico: Paciente varón de 37 años, en seguimiento en nuestra Unidad de Salud Mental desde 2008 cuando debutó con sintomatología psicótica. En 2009 es condenado por delito contra la salud pública (llevar una bolsa con cocaína) y se le impone la medida de seguridad de internamiento en centro de deshabituación 18 meses. Ha precisado de más de 20 ingresos en psiquiatría por desorganización conductual, sintomatología psicótica y exaltación del estado de ánimo. Estos episodios se han iniciado en el contexto de consumo de tóxicos estimulantes que han tenido un papel primordial en la evolución del cuadro actuando como factor precipitante y agravante. Presenta ideación delirante de temática megalomaníaca: hace un despliegue de sus logros en las fuerzas de seguridad nacionales e internacionales (CNI, guardia civil, sistema criptográfico español, MI6, NASA, CIA…), enseña emblemas y carnés justificativos, hace alusión a que ha comprado el aeropuerto de Teruel con las ganancias que sacó de comprar Microsoft por 1 euro a Bill Gates, etc. Está diagnosticado de Trastorno Esquizoafectivo de tipo maniaco F 25.0 según criterios CIE-10. 5. Conclusiones: Es frecuente que en nuestra unidad coexista adicción con otro problema de salud mental. El consumo de tóxicos supone una peor evolución y un mayor consumo de dispositivos.

Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the major health problems in Middle East. There is no available data about its prevalance among our medical students .A lot of complications could be present due to such metabolic disorders . Objective: This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of diabetes mellitus among medical students at Mutah University in Al-Karak in Jordan, raising the awareness about its complication and to spot light problems encountered by student to get their proper support treatment. Method: : A total of 350 medical students were enrolled in in this observational study, (i.e., 67.5% females and 32.5% males) were investigated using a questionare designed for medical students from 1st up to 6th year. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 25. Results: In the present data it was found that 68.9% consuming fast food. There is positive family history of D.M 46%. Sure diagnosis of DM proved to be 2.3% of participants, with 6.3% HbA1c (7-10gm %). Uncontrolled D.M treatment proved to be 35.3% and this could be due to financial problems 37.5% or unavailable drugs in the market 37.5% There is a history of hyperglycaemic coma proved to be 6.3% and hypoglycaemic coma 6.3% encountered among those affected. Conclusion: A lot of concern about medical students having diabetes mellitus should be implemented, as D.M complication is very serious including cardiovascular, nephrology and retinopathy complications. Also, we recommend that routine medical screening tests as fundus examination, fasting and post-prandial blood glucose assessment. Complete Urine analysis and glycosylated Hb should be done. <p>The Gouin bascule bridge is a 1,300 tons gigantic steel structure that allows pleasure boats to enter the Chambly Canal National Historic Site and provides access over the Richelieu river for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. As part of a project to revitalize and modernize the city centre, the architectural concept of the movable bridge will provide a landmark to this highly touristic site. There are only few examples in the world of such movable bridges with a large suspended counterweight. The challenges of the project include strict architectural criteria, fabrication and alignment of over 800 mm in diameter pins, the assembly on-site of remarkably large bridge parts and the precise balancing of the bridge.</p><p>When designing this structure, WSP made sure to consider the non-redundant aspect of some parts of the structure. Details regarding the design of the stays supporting the entire upper structure and the hydraulic cylinders initiating the rotation are described in this paper. The planning of the works in the middle of the critical infrastructures and services surrounding the bridge is explained. The article analyses the topic of the genocidal policy and actions of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine in the works of Timothy Snyder. The subject of the research is the genocidal component of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as the reasons and evidence of the genocidal intentions of the Russian authorities in Timothy Snyder’s reasoning. The objective of the study is to establish the specifics of the elucidation of the reasons and evidence of the genocidal component in Russia’s policy against Ukraine in the scientist’s writings. The following methods were used in the process of scientific research: systematic, comparative, content analysis, historical, and their combination. The research highlights the main theses and ideas of the author regarding the facts of Russia’s expansionist position against Ukraine. Moreover, the study specifies the main theses of the author, which he uses to explain the reluctance of the world community to recognise the war in Ukraine as genocidal. In addition to this, the research states and describes nine features presented by Timothy Snyder to prove the intentions of the Russian Federation to exterminate Ukrainians as a nation. He also notes that the authorities of the terrorist country are doing everything to deprive the concepts of “Nazi” and “genocide” of any meaning, as well as make sure that the history of the Holocaust or the Second World War does not bring any lessons to future generations. The findings of our research are important for journalists and scholars who cover and examine the Russian-Ukrainian War and its historical context. In addition, they will aid our country in confronting the propaganda and lies spread by the Russian Federation, because Timothy Snyder explores the topic of Ukraine, as well as the longevity of Russian-Ukrainian relations in his works. Venezuela experimenta la recesión económica más severa y prolongada de su historia económica moderna. El país ha perdido tres cuartas partes de su Producto Interno Bruto, produciendo, como consecuencia, una degradación extrema de las condiciones materiales de vida de sus habitantes. En este contexto, no existe una evaluación apropiada de los efectos que esta profunda crisis económica ha tenido sobre los indicadores socioeconómicos de las clases medias en Venezuela. Este documento técnico hace uso de las fuentes de microdatos disponibles para analizar empíricamente el tamaño y la evolución reciente de la clase media venezolana a la luz de la reciente crisis económica. En líneas generales, se corrobora una caída abrupta y sistemática tanto en el tamaño de la clase media venezolana, así como del poder de consumo de quienes todavía forman parte de ella. En 2020 se verifica que aproximadamente 9 de cada 10 familias que era considerada de clase media a principios de la década pasada, ya no lo es. Además, el análisis dinámico de los datos muestra evidencia de que una porción muy importante de familias de clase media ha perdido su estatus sobretodo en los últimos años, tendencia comprobada por la evolución indicadores no monetarios, relacionados con los niveles multidimensionales de bienestar y seguridad económica de las familias de estratos medios. Venezuela llegó a ser el hogar de la más grande, sólida y próspera clase media de la región, hoy en día, la situación ha cambiado radicalmente: una parte importante de el acervo de capacidades y capital humano de la clase media ha alimentado la ola de emigración de venezolanos de los últimos años, mientras la otra parte, la poción que permaneció en Venezuela, sufre la erosión de sus condiciones en el marco de la depresión económica y la crisis humanitaria. En general, existe amplio consenso sobre el efecto positivo que tiene la clase media sobre el bienestar, el crecimiento económico, la equidad y la estabilidad de las economías, en este sentido, la rehabilitación de la clase media venezolana deberá formar parte de cualquier programa de recuperación futura.
