Consequently, Human Resource Management becomes the main question electrical enterprises’ management. The purpose of human resource management is to put all staff to the best use and put them in the proper positions in order to bring all their creativity. Competition mechanism can fully motivate the staff’s initiative and creativity. That can allocate human resources rationally. Job Bidding is a competitive merit-based, effectively encouraging and energetic working mechanism which is formed during the practice of personnel reform in electrical enterprise.

Improving energy efficiency and reducing the cost of creating an electrical complex of autonomous power supply for an oil-producing enterprise is an urgent problem and requires a rational solution. The goal is the construction of energy-efficient electrical systems of autonomous power supply for oil-producing enterprises, leading to a reduction in the unit cost of electricity per unit of production. A methodology for constructing an autonomous power supply system for an oil producing enterprise, optimized in length and number of generation centers is present. The results presented in the work were obtained using methods of the theory of electric and magnetic circuits, theory of electric drive, methods of optimization of power supply systems, methods of mathematical and computer modeling. The configuration of the power supply system of oil producing enterprises and the efficiency of its work is analyze. To test the efficiency of the methodology, the power supply system of an oil producing enterprise is simulate in the RTDS software package. The results of the work were introduced and used in the creation of energy-efficient electrical systems for autonomous power supply to oil-producing enterprises based on autonomous diesel generators and optimized by the length of power lines and the number of generation centers. Implementation of the results of the work allows reducing the specific energy consumption per unit of extracted products and reducing the cost of building an energy-efficient electrical complex of autonomous power supply for oil-producing enterprises.

Purpose – The behaviour of an enterprise (including ethical behaviour) strongly depends on the organization’s culture, values and beliefs. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that organizational culture differs according to enterprise life cycle stage. Also the importance of the knowledge and awareness of these differences to enterprises’ management in order to be able to ensure enterprises’ success is argued. Design/methodology/approach – The case study research methodology was applied to explore the differences in the type of organizational culture as well as cultural strength depending on the enterprise’s life cycle stage. For the empirical testing, the author have selected Slovenia, one of the most developed European post-socialist transition countries. Findings – The research revealed differences in the types and strengths of enterprises’ organizational cultures and showed their dependence on the enterprises’ life cycle stages. Practical implications – Knowledge of differences in organizational culture in relation to an enterprise’s life cycle stage can significantly contribute to the behaviour of the enterprise’s key stakeholders by ensuring the long-term and sustainable success of the enterprise. Originality/value – The available literature does not provide similar research of differences in organizational culture in relation to an enterprise’s life cycle stages.

The electric power and electric industries are basic and strategic emerging industries in China’s national economy. Based on the data of listed companies in China’s electric power and electric industries from 2015 to 2019, this paper empirically studies the impact of research and development (R & D) attention on corporate profitability. The results show that attention to R & D by listed companies in electric power and electric industries will significantly improve enterprise’s profit performance, and this kind of effect has yearly heterogeneity. From 2015 to 2017, R & D attention gradually improved the profit performance of enterprises, but the profit spillover effect of R & D investment in recent years needs to be further strengthened. Further study found that R & D attention has a significant effect on corporate profitability in the private enterprise group, the R & D attention of state-owned enterprises and R & D structure adjustment should be paid more attention; R & D investment can significantly improve the profitability of the electrical industry, but the promotion effect was relatively slow in recent years, and R & D investment has a significant effect on the profitability of listed companies in the electric power industry. Although the promotion effect is not obvious, it shows a steady improvement trend. After variable and model replacement, the empirical regression conclusion of this paper is still robust. The results of this paper help to deepen the understanding of the stage characteristics of the impact of R & D attention on profit performance, and it is of great significance to optimize the efficiency of R & D investment and pay attention to the adjustment of R & D structure in the electric power and electrical industries.

Reducing the cost of electricity consumption by industrial enterprises is the most important area of increasing the operational efficiency of their activities. The article is devoted to the issue of reducing the cost of paying for the service component of the transport component of purchased electrical energy from industrial enterprises that have technological connection to the electrical networks of electricity producers. The article makes an empirical study of the features of the pricing of payment for the services of the transport component of purchased electrical energy for industrial enterprises connected to the electric grids of electricity producers with the identification of factors influencing the overestimation of the cost of paid electricity, and calculating such overestimations using the example of a typical schedule of electricity consumption of a machinebuilding enterprise for various regions Russia. On the basis of the developed author's indicators (tariff coefficient for electricity transportation by the level of GNP, index of tariff coefficient for electricity transportation, weighted average price for electricity transportation, index of weighted average price for electricity transportation, integral index of efficiency of GNP tariffs) study of the effectiveness of the application of tariffs for the transport of electricity for industrial enterprises connected to the electric networks of electricity producers. Based on the calculated indicators, the article groups the regions into three main groups, with the development of recommendations for managing the cost of purchasing electricity by the component of the cost of the transport component of purchased electricity in each group. As the most optimal option for reducing the cost of electricity transportation, the author proposes the introduction of demand management for electricity consumption, which will reduce the costs of industrial enterprises that pay for the transport component of purchased electricity at unfavorable tariff configurations.

At industrial enterprises, a significant amount of energy resources, including electricity, are consumed during production processes. Therefore, reducing the consumption of electrical energy in the production of products is an important and urgent task, the solution of which ensures a cost reduction of products and an increase in the competitiveness of the enterprise in various markets. The solution of this problem is complicated by the fact that the level of electricity consumption at a particular enterprise depends on many factors, one part of which is expressed in the form of quantitative data, and the other in the form of qualitative ones. In addition, both the first and second groups of data in most cases have uncertainty and incompleteness of the information used. These features create significant difficulties in obtaining reasonable and objective estimates of the efficiency of the use of electrical energy in industrial enterprises. Overcoming such difficulties is possible with the use of the mathematical apparatus of fuzzy logic. The results obtained make it possible to see objective and reasonable estimates of the influence of various factors, expressed both in quantitative and qualitative form, on the efficiency of electric energy consumption in the production processes of industrial enterprises. The use of such assessments will allow developing and applying effective measures to reduce electricity consumption. The implementation of the results of the work contributes to efficiency increase of electricity in industrial enterprises, which ensures an increase in its competitiveness.

This paper studies how the blockchain technology applies the enterprise’s vertical value chain management and specifically studies how the blockchain technology is applied to the management of various transaction information involved in the enterprise’s vertical value chain management. This paper first analyzes the basic needs of the enterprise vertical value chain management, analyzes the decentralization, integrity, and authenticity of relevant transaction information in management, and designs and implements enterprise value chain management solution based on the blockchain technology, including the design and implementation of organizations, consensus mechanisms, data structures, and business processes. The simulation data is used for testing, and finally, the solution is evaluated in terms of security, transparency, efficiency, and scalability. The research in this paper shows that the blockchain technology can be applied to the enterprise’s vertical value chain management, which can ensure the authenticity, transparency, tamper resistance, and security of various transaction information of enterprises, thus improving the quality and reliability of the vertical value chain management of enterprises.

Forecasting of electric power consumption with due account of assessed impact of various factors helps to make efficient technical and managerial decisions to optimize the electric power consumption processes, including preparation of bids for the wholesale electric power and capacity market. The article uses multivariate methods of statistical analysis and econometric methods based on time series analysis for model designing. The paper presents the results of developing the following models: a multifactor model of electrical power consumption using the regression analysis, the Principal Component Method with the assessment of the impact of production factors on electrical power consumption using elasticity coefficients, as well as the energy saving factor based on a variable structure model; trend additive and multiplicative forecast models of electrical consumption that take into account the seasonality factor, models with a change in trends, a linear dynamic model of electrical power consumption that takes into account the production output; a forecast adaptive polynomial model of electrical power consumption as well as the Winters model. The developed forecast models have a sufficiently high accuracy (accuracy of the MAPE was below 7%). The choice of the model type to forecast the electrical power consumption depends on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the time series, the structural relation between the series, the purpose and objectives of the modeling. In order to enhance the accuracy of the forecast it is required to regularly refine the model and adjust it to the actual situation with the due account of new factors and production trends while building different versions of scenarios and combined forecast models of electrical power consumption

The purpose is to analyze the organizational management of large business entities; the results of improving the corporate quality of the work of structural divisions on the practical management principles. Based on the scientific literature review there were used methods of sampling, observation, systemic and economic analysis, and questionnaires to identify «gaps» in the management system. The scientific, methodological, and information base were the work of foreign and domestic scientists and economists in studying problems of the practical organization of management in the activities of industrial enterprises, which should be characterized with the sufficient level of innovative mechanisms implementation strategic management. The financial and economic activities of the enterprise were analyzed, based on a system analysis, an assessment of the internal environment and the PEST method was carried out, and an evaluation of the external environment was given, which allowed the authors to develop practical measures for the effective organization of project management. The key indicators are based on the estimated indicators to ensure the organization’s leadership in the production and industrial enterprise’s economic potential. The calculation of four integral indicators that contribute to vertical and horizontal interaction development is necessary for effective enterprise management. This methodology for assessing the management organization effectiveness in industrial enterprises helps small, large businesses to use rational mechanisms for effective management and develop targeted strategies for the enterprise’s development in the long term.

The resilience of manufacturing enterprises is an important research topic, since disruptions have severe effects on the normal operation of manufacturing enterprises, especially as manufacturing supply chains become global. Although many case studies have been carried out to address resilience in organizations, a systematic method to model and analyze the resilience dynamics in manufacturing enterprises is not well developed. This study is intended to conduct research on quantitative analysis and control for resilience. After reviewing the literature addressing resilience, a modeling framework is presented to characterize the resilience of a manufacturing enterprise responding to disruptive events, which includes inventory ow between enterprise nodes, different costs, resource, demand, etc. Each node within the network is represented as a dynamic model with associated costs of production and inventory. This mathematical model is the foundation of quantitative analysis and control. With this model, an optimal control problem is formulated, by which the control can be solved to achieve minimum cost. Several different types of systems are defined and analyzed in this work. We develop the approach of aggregation to simplify the network structures. The study is mainly focused on two categories of network systems: serial network systems and assembly tree network systems. The analysis on these two categories covers two conditions: in discrete time domain without considering capacities, and in continuous time domain with considering capacities. The methods to determining optimal operations are developed under different conditions. In the serial network systems analysis, a practical case study is introduced to show the corresponding method developed. Finally, the problems are discussed for future research. Based on the results of these analyses, we present optimal control policies for resilience. Our method can support the analysis of the impact of disruptions, and the development of control strategies that reduce the impact of the disruption.

Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand that develop and manufacture electrical and electronic products are among other SMEs in the world meeting increasingly stringent legal and customer requirements related to environmental issues. Obstacles for the SMEs around the world to meet these requirements are almost the same in form of lack of knowledge, budget and resources. The differences between SMEs in Thailand and SMEs in the EU, Japan or even Korea are that these countries have been developed the eco-design concept and SMEs have been involved in eco-design activities for many years. This process and activities are new both for the SMEs and for the supporting institutes and organisations in Thailand. Thailand has just started to build up the infrastructure to support the SMEs to implement the eco-design concept and to work more with product related environmental issues. The focus right now for the SMEs in this research is to comply with the EU Directives, RoHS and WEEE, and this is where the main investments are made, e.g. in order to be able to export to the demanding EU market.

This research is investigating what kind of environment demands that SMEs in Thailand that develop and manufacture electrical and electronic products have on their products, how they handle these requirements and also what obstacles there are for implementing a more product related environmental concept, also known as eco-design, Design for the Environment (DfE), Green Design or Environmentally Oriented Design. A research in form of interviews and factory visits has been done with five different SMEs in Thailand. These five SMEs have also participated in the first official eco-design projects in Thailand with funding from the government in Thailand and also some from the EU. Interviews have been conducted with involved parties in these project such as institutes and experts provided by Universities. These interviews were made in order to get their opinion and experience about the present situation for SMEs in Thailand that develop and manufacture electrical and electronic products to work with product related green issues.

The research shows that these companies have the possibilities and conditions to work further on with the eco-design concept in the future. Their participation in the eco-design projects has been a good experience and there is evidence of strong support from the management and owners, environmental awareness, pro-active work and motivation among the companies. The obstacles are as mentioned above concerning lack of resources, knowledge and experience of how these environmental demands and requirements will affect the product development process. This lack of experience depends mostly on the fact that these eco-design projects are the first projects in this field for the companies. These five companies have now built up a fundamental knowledge but are still in need of further support. The communication between the SMEs and supporting parties are important and also one factor these five companies think is functioning well.

This study focuses on small- to medium-scale electrical enterprises (SMECEs) in the Cape Peninsula, and specifically on electrical contractors with fewer than 25 employees. The objectives of this study are threefold: Firstly, the study reviews the position of current SMECEs, their economic contribution to the economy, their origin and establishment, the lifespan of the business, as well as the level of education of the individuals involved in the business. Secondly, it determines the constraints and limitations that may lead to the failure of these businesses. And, thirdly, it identifies the factors that may enable SMECEs to become sustainable or successful enterprises. A two-phased research method was used to collect information from owners of electrical contracting firms. This method involved the use of a pilot survey questionnaire and a main survey questionnaire. The pilot and main questionnaires were used to obtain data pertaining to the electrical contracting industry and owners of such firms. More specifically, this data includes information on the background of the company and its owner, the establishment of the business and its employment structure, as well as its work history, current operations and future objectives. It also looked at the constraints and limitations faced by these SMECEs, and identified specific factors that may enhance their sustainability. These questionnaires revealed that the constraining factors could be placed into two main categories, viz. management and labour. Management problems, for instance, included poor cash flow because of slow payment by clients, a lack of management skills on the part of business owners, and an inability to calculate project costs accurately. Labour problems, on the other hand, included an unreliable work force with no proper or effective work ethic, a lack of skilled and trained labour, and a work force that was inadequately skilled as either electricians or assistants. Among the factors that are necessary to ensure the success and sustainability of SMECEs, were the following: Business owners need to deal personally with problems and constraints and must learn how to avoid them. They must improve their management and planning ability, and must be able to understand the market. Their business must offer good workmanship and quality of service, and they must be able to complete their projects successfully. A reliable skilled work force is imperative, as are marketing skills and the ability to ensure the controlled growth of the firm. The following recommendations are made to owners of SMECEs: In order for their business to be successful and sustainable, they need to identify training courses that can assist their current contracted labour force. Business owners themselves also need to attend tendering and cost-control courses to improve the running and management of their business. They need to support the education and training of their work force and to employ skilled workers. Furthermore, they must ensure that the scope of the electrical contract is explained to the work force and that there is a written contract from the client, setting out the conditions of payment, in order to prevent late payment and thus cash flow problems.

This research explores the nature of guanxi inside Chinese enterprises and considers the implications for leadership at a time when Western leadership models are growing in dominance, and Eastern cultural norms are still in existence. The literature on guanxi is extensive, but the lack of its application inside organizations, and, in this case, in the leadership function is sparse. The research questions include whether guanxi is applied internally to the organization and, if it is, how does this influence leadership behaviour? The research adopts a pragmatist, social constructivist position, and uses a mixed method approach to investigate the interaction between leadership behaviour and guanxi: the internal guanxi. The researcher is an employee of ABLE Electric Motor Group, a large and successful private sector enterprise in the rapidly growing and transforming Chinese economy. Drawing on the special and unique position in the organisation and existing experience, the researcher uses multiple employee case studies, involving 34 in-depth interviews with senior leaders across ABLE, and surveys the Chinese electric motor sector using a questionnaire collected from 337 respondents. The research developed a conceptual model, creating links between Chinese leadership characteristics and guanxi characteristics, and these are used to focus on the collection and analysis of themes. These themes correspond to seven propositions arising from the initial desk research, the on-going participant observation and a pilot study. These are then explored further through the findings and discussion. The findings suggest that internal guanxi is operating and that it extends beyond the boundaries of the company. However, globalisation and transformation in the Chinese market are changing the nature of the relationship between leadership and guanxi and producing mixed results. Private sector businesses benefit from the leadership–guanxi dynamic, while foreign and state firms are deriving fewer benefits. The research identifies three models of the internal guanxi–leadership relationship: (i) internal, (ii) inter-firm and (iii) inter-regulatory hybrid, providing examples of prominence and behaviours. Leadership approaches that ignore the role of guanxi limit the potential of the firm, which impacts on innovation, the recruitment, and retention of staff. Foreign and state-owned firms are less likely to resolve problems through relationships and typically apply more formal structures. This research has implications for culturally different companies entering this market and those transforming companies that need to maintain harmony in times of revolutionary change.

Within the electric power industry, the average company's enterprise system - i.e. the overall system of IT related entities - is today highly complex. Technically, large organizations posses hundreds or thousands of extensively interconnected and heterogeneous single IT systems performing tasks that varies from enterprise resource planning to real-time control and monitoring of industrial processes. Moreover are these systems storing a wide variety of sometimes redundant data, and typically they are deployed on several different platforms. IT does, however, not execute in splendid isolation. Organizationally, the enterprise system embraces business processes and business units using as well as maintaining and acquiring the IT systems. The interplay between the organization and the IT systems are further determined by for instance business goals, ownership and governance structures, strategies, individual system users, documentation, and cost.

Lately, Enterprise Architecture (EA) has evolved with the mission to take a holistic approach to managing the above depicted enterprise system. The discipline's presumption is that architectural models are the key to succeed in understanding and administrating enterprise systems. Compared to many other engineering disciplines, EA is quite immature in many respects. This thesis identifies and elaborates on some important aspects that to date have been overlooked to a large extent. Firstly, the lack of explicit purpose for architectural models is identified. The thesis argues that the concerns of a company's Chief Information Officer (CIO) should guide the rationale behind the development of EA models. In particular, distribution of IT related information and knowledge throughout the organization is emphasized as an important concern uncared for. Secondly, the lack of architectural theory is recognized. The thesis provides examples of how theory, or analysis procedures, could be incorporated into the Enterprise Architecture approach and hereby concretely drive the development of the architectural models. Due to the nature of enterprise systems, EA theories inevitable will be of an indicative character. Finally, in relation to the models as such, three aspects are highlighted. Firstly, the cost of collecting information from the organization to populate models is routinely neglected by the EA community. This expense should be evaluated in relation to the utility of analyses that the information can provide in terms of better informed decision making by the CIO. Secondly, models (and meta-models) must be kept consistent. And thirdly, the design of models is restricted by the limited mental capabilities of the minds of the model users. CIO concerns must consequently be easy to extract from the Enterprise Architecture models.

In addition to storing 70-75% of their data and business logic in legacy mainframe systems, global corporations have countless custom applications and off-the-shelf ERP products residing within their networks. Increasing competition and shrinking budgets have left managers scouring for innovative, cost-effective methods to maximize the potential of these enormous sunk costs. There is, as a result, an overwhelming need to not only web enable these existing legacy assets in order to quickly and cost-effectively deliver data to both customers and business partners alike, but also to amalgamate these disparate systems into a unified, homogeneous, real-time enterprise. Integration efforts to date, focused predominantly on the development of proprietary point-to-point adapters, have unfortunately proven to be a daunting task with countless failed projects and losses in the millions. The advent of XML web services does, however, have the potential to revolutionize existing integration strategies; the cost savings and ease of implementation associated with wrapping virtually all systems, past, present and future, with standardized, code-independent, data-centric interfaces is truly astounding. As the future success of this platform is, however, strictly dependent upon the interoperability of its endpoints, we have proposed several fundamental amendments to the existing flawed WSDL specification. A generic reference architecture, leveraging both this improved web services model as well as established component middleware technologies, is then proposed for the web enablement of legacy assets on an enterprise scale. In order to ensure the adoption of this methodology, a toolkit designed to automate the transformation has also been devised. This new paradigm will not only allow information to flow freely from deep within the enterprise, but will ultimately serve as the cornerstone of a new generation of enterprise integration solutions.

The Supply Planning Operations team, in a large manufacturing firm, faced a future where their complexity of scope was increasing without an increase in resource levels. As an effort to improve both efficiency and effectively within the organization, they chose to adopt Lean Thinking as a method to streamline and simplify activities, connections and flows. Lean Thinking, while often viewed as a set of tools (value stream mapping, andon cords, kanbans, and others), involves the harmony between principles, culture and the appropriate application of tools. SPO has taken an approach focused on culture and deep understanding of Lean Principles before deploying the tools of Lean. It was important to examine why artifacts succeeded or failed in influencing cultural change. One common theme for successful artifacts was their portability. With a geographically diverse team, it was important that any artifact could be transported electronically. Although not all the actions have been successful in influencing the organization's culture, many actions have had a profound impact. Seeing members of the organization write about their personal experiences is just one example of how Lean Thinking has been adopted. By committing to "Rules before Tools," the group embarked upon a journey to change culture. This thesis used an Enacted Systems Analysis to identify Artifacts, Habits of Thought and Habits of Action. Several organizational barriers emerged along with possible levers to promote change. Even though the revolution is only in its infancy, SPO appears to be on a sustainable path toward a Lean Thinking transformation.

The progressive use of such devices (protection of the third and fourth generations) is appropriate and effective due to their significant advantages. Meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation. This paper aims to examine the similarities between innovative companies in the Engineering and the Electrotechnical industry in the Czech Republic. The main question is whether R & D spending in companies with eco-innovation leads to a rise in turnover even in a short period of time. The paper uses the Burea Van Dijk database – Amadeus as a data source. This data source includes 186 large enterprises with information on employee’s numbers, turnover, sector affiliation and R & D expenditure. A binomial test of statistical significance was used for the comparison of the two groups of companies. The authors find that approximately one-third of enterprises record revenue slump. There was no statistically significant difference at the level of significance α = 0,05 between the shares of enterprises with eco-innovations that showed a decrease in turnover.

The Energy Savings Insurance Program seeks to promote investment in energy efficiency and distributed generation in Latin America, primarily through small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It focuses on developing an innovative scheme of guaranteed energy performance that mitigates project risk and generates investor confidence (ESI Model). The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) facilitates the development of the ESI Program in alliance with the National Development Banks (NDBs). The ESI Model includes a contract for the supply, installation, and maintenance of equipment for generating a stipulated amount of energy or energy savings over a specific time period; validation by an independent body; insurance coverage that backs the savings or the guaranteed energy generation; and project financing. This paper describes the main attributes of the ESI Model (the contract, the insurance, validation and financing), evaluates market potential and the most attractive technologies, and identifies the priority sectors for implementing projects in Chile. The most promising economic sectors were found to be the hospitality industry, food processing industry, grape growing/wine production, and the fishing industry, and the technologies of electric motors, boilers, air conditioning systems and photovoltaic solar generation. In each of these sectors, estimates were made of financing requirements as well as CO2 emission reductions that could be achieved.
