Повний текст джерелаThe aim of the study was to examine the dietary intake of female amateur football players in the division 2, 3 and 5 in the middle part of Sweden. The study is a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Data collection consisted of 24 hour recall interviews and a questionnaire with background information about the participant. The participants consisted of 40 female football players from divisions 2, 3 and 5. The participants' average calorie intake was estimated using the program Dietist Net Pro 1979 kilocalories (kcal)/day, compared with the average recommended daily allowance (RDA), which was estimated at 2137 kcal. The low energy consumption contributed to the participants' inability to meet the RDA for iron, folate, vitamin D, calcium, magnesium and carbohydrates. There were 19 participants who ate more than the average amount of energy and 21 participants who ate below the average amount of calories. No statistically significant differences in energy or nutrient intake could be established between the participants in different divisions or age groups. Female football players in this study were found to eat too little energy (food) on the basis of their energy needs, which may potentially contribute to nutritional deficiencies, specifically in iron, folate, vitamin D, calcium, magnesium and carbohydrates. Deficiencies in these nutrients may lead to impaired performance in training and matches, impaired general health and recovery, and to a break-down of body tissues for energy.

This thesis proposed the design of a multi-band frequency synthesizer for 400 MHz, 2.4 GHz, and 24 GHz, which is carried out by high-division-ratio prescalers. These multi-band frequency synthesizers are crucial components for implantable biomedical band, industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) bands, and collision-avoidance radar bands. The 402 MHz voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is implemented by two-stage differential ring oscillator, and the 2.4 GHz VCO uses the architecture combining the memory reduction tail transistors to the LC-tank complementary cross-coupled pair for the high quality factor Q as well as the low phase noise to achieve overall excellent figure of merit (FOM). These designs are implemented in TSMC 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS process. From the measurement results, the 402 MHz VCO has the wide tuning range from 234 MHz to 888 MHz, and small chip size of 0.34 x 0.27 mm2; the 2.4 GHz VCO improves the performance of 400 MHz VCO and has excellent performance in aspects of phase noise. The core power consumption is 3.096 mW, the phase noise is -123.26 dBc / Hz at 1-MHz offset frequency, and the overall FOM is excellent to achieve -185.96 dB. Then, this thesis in advance presents a multi-band 24 GHz PLL using a prescaler of divide-by-5 with the concept of linking controlled voltage to the VCO and prescaler to overcome the insufficient frequency locking range. From the simulation results, the phase noise of VCO are -103.8 dBc / Hz at 1-MHz offset and -124.2 dBc / Hz at 10-MHz offset frequency. The locked time of PLL is approximately 450 ns while the locked voltage is 0.72 V, and the overall power consumption is 31.675 mW. In addition, a 24 GHz PLL design using a ring-oscillator-based prescaler of divide-by-7 and improved Colpitts differential VCO with low phase noise is presented, and the comparisons of above mentioned PLLs are given in this thesis. From the simulation results, the phase noise are excellent to -108.38 dBc / Hz at 1-MHz offset and -129.50 dBc / Hz at 10-MHz offset frequency respectively. The locked time is 800 ns while the locked voltage is approximately 0.81 V, and the power consumption is 40.41 mW. These designs of 24 GHz PLL are implemented in TSMC TN90RF 1P9M CMOS process.

Повний текст джерелаThe objective of this thesis is to study and develop novel, low complexity physical layer algorithms for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based communication systems. The study aims at two algorithmic categories, namely adaptive modulation and coding and compensation of severe phase noise (PHN) errors. A parameterized windowed least-squares (WLS) decision directed phase error estimator is proposed via proper (alternative) system modeling, applied to both channel estimation and data detection stage in OFDM systems. The window is optimized so as to minimize the post-compensation error variance (PCEV) of the residual phase, analytically computed for arbitrary PHN and frequency offset (FO) models. Closed-form expressions for near-optimal windows are derived for zero-mean FO, Wiener and first-order autoregressive PHN models, respectively. Furthermore, the diagonal-loading approach is properly employed, initially proposed for providing robustness to a general class of estimators in the presence of model mismatch, to enhance convergence of the iterative estimation scheme, in those high-SNR regions where the effect of data decision errors dominates performance. In the proposed OFDM scheme, channel, IFO estimation and data equalization are also based on the LS criterion, thus keeping the overall system complexity low. A generic performance description model is proposed and used for AMC algorithmic design, capable of describing most of current and under preparation communication protocols. This model proposition is incorporated to a larger family of performance modelling techniques named Effective SNR Mapping techniques (ESM). Using the ESM techniques and proper parameter adaptation constraints, a number of low-complexity AMC algorithms are developed under a chosen set of optimization scenarios. A framework for the design of AMC algorithms using approximate performance description models is proposed. Specific bounds are derived for quantifying the power loss when using approximate models. The effect of outdated channel state information is also studied by statistically characterizing the effective SNR at the receiver. This description allows parameter adaptation under mobility scenarios. The main value of this collective procedure is the development of low complexity- high performance algorithms, implementable on pragmatic OFDM systems.
