Long-term variability of the cold subsurface water (CSW) in the Okhotsk Sea is analyzed on the base of all available oceanographic data collected in March through August of 1946-2015 (total 65,742 stations). The Integral Heat Content (IHC) is calculated for each station and average annual IHC anomalies of the cold subsurface water are determined by month and by 2-degree grid. The IHC anomaly series are analyzed using the EOF analysis. Cycles with period of approximately 30 years are revealed in the variations of the subsurface layer heat content. Thus, in the 1946-1950, its temperature decreased, but it grew since 2009-2010 to 2015. The warming of CSW was also observed in the 1951-1964 and 1978-1994, while the cooling was in the 1965-1977 and 1995-2008. Based on this criterion, the CSW thermal condition in certain years is classified as «extremely cold» in 2001, as «cold» in 1949, 1950, 1951, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1999, 2000, 2010, 2012, as «normal» in 1946, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, as «warm» in 1948, 1956, 1964, 1968, 1974, 1981, 1984, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1997, 2015, and as «extremely warm» in 1963. Statistically significant correlation is found between changes of the CSW thermal conditions and long-term variations of atmosphere and ocean climate indices, as well as local patterns of the atmosphere-ice-ocean interaction in the Okhotsk Sea and adjacent onshore and offshore areas of Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

Before the introduction of planned vaccination against diphtheria in Tatarstan, the number of diphtheria cases per 100 thousand people was 25.3 in 1920-1929 - 25.3, 1930-1939 - 66.5, 1940-1949 - 75.4, 1950-1959 - 67,2. Planned vaccination, which began in 1955-1956, contributed to a decrease in the number of cases. Over the following decades, the average incidence rate per 100,000 population steadily decreased and was in 1960-1969 - 5.2, 1970-1979 - 0,07. However, in 1982-1985 there was a slight increase in the number of diphtheria cases, so the average morbidity rate for 1980-1989 slightly increased (0.09 per 100 thousand population).

Анотація:
Hukum Tata Negara Darurat merupakan konsep hukum yang secara terpaksa, harus dijalankan oleh Negara, dimana Negara berada dalam keadaan bahaya dan/atau darurat. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini bagaimanakah Hukum Tata Negara Darurat Pada Masa Republik Indonesia Serikat (RIS 1949) dan Hukum Tata Negara Darurat Pada Masa Undang-Undang Dasar Sementara (UUDS 1950)? Kemudian Hukum Tata Negara Darurat pada masa konstitusi RIS 1949 dan UUDS 1950 banyak mengeluarkan Undang-undang terkait darurat pemerintahan pada masa RIS 1949 dan UUDS 1950. Tetapi terdapat perubahan Undang-undang Darurat Militer pada masa UUDS 1950. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori penelitian hukum normatif karena hanya menggunakan bahan kepustakaan atau data sekunder. Dalam masa Konstitusi RIS 43 Undang-Undang Daruta yang dibentuk kebanyakan merupakan Undang-Undang terkait jalannya suatu pemerintah dan peradilan pada masa Konstitusi RIS. Pada tahun 1953 masa Konstitusi UUDS dibentuk Undang-Undang Darurat Sembilan peraturan darurat. Kemudian pada tahun 1954 terdapat 12 Peratuan Darurat, pada tahun 1955 terdapat 20 peraturan darurat yang di bentuk, pada tahun 1956 sembilan peraturan yang dibuat, pada tahun 1957 terdapat 27 peraturan darurat yang dibuat, dan pada tahun 1959 terdapat tujuh peraturan darurat. Kemudian dalam masa Konstitusi UUDS Peraturan Pemerintah yang keadaan darurat dibentuk sebanyak sebelas Peraturan pemerintah dan satu Keputusan Presiden terkait kedaruratan.

An ongoing study of the ambrosia beetle tribe Xyleborini has resulted in numerous taxonomic changes mostly representing new generic/species combinations which remove species from the once all-encompassing Xyleborus Eichhoff, 1864 to other genera based on revised taxonomic concepts. These changes are here listed. Terminalinus Hopkins, 1915 is removed from synonymy with Cyclorhipidion Hagedorn, 1912 and reinstated as a valid genus. Five species are removed from synonymy and reinstated as valid species: Amasa brevipennis (Schedl, 1971), Amasa fulgens (Schedl, 1975), Ambrosiophilus immitatrix (Schedl, 1975), Ambrosiophilus semirufus (Schedl, 1959), Microperus leprosulus (Schedl, 1936). This article charts the relationship between Princess Margaret (1930–2002) and the House of Dior. Her relatively early adoption of the New Look accelerated her rise to a major fashion icon. Choosing a Dior ball gown for her offi? cial twenty-first birthday photographs cemented her image as the archetypal princess. Unusually for a member of the British royal family, Princess Margaret visited the French fashion house in Paris in 1949, 1951 and 1959, ordering couture gowns on several occasions, and also attended Dior fashion shows at Blenheim Palace in 1952, 1954 and 1958. While the close association between the Princess and Christian Dior (1905–1957) was relatively short-lived, it was mutually beneficial and important to the public image of both royal patron and couturier. 1

This essay is about criminal cases with deadly outcomes in Skåne during the period 1950 - 1959. The seven chosen cases were gathered from criminal records from the ”härdansrätt” in Frosta and Eslöv. These cases have not previously been written about and therefore somewhat unheard of. The focus will lay on the gender, age and social status of the perpetrators. Some of the years in are of less importance since no crimes with deathly outcome was found. The most dominated cause of death are crimes commired in traffic. Traffic offenses spiked in the 1950’s when the use of motor vehicles was more common and more people fell victim to those kind of accidents. The main point of the essay is to examine why the accidents/crimes led to death and how the media wrote about it. Sweden’s first mass murderer, Tore Hedin, will be mentioned. He is worth mentioning since he was active during the chosen time period, but since he wasn’t put before a trial, he won’t be part of the main study.

The Cyprus problem of the 1950s was resolved not by British initiatives, but by a settlement based on an agreement between the Greek and Turkish governments. Because of this, it demonstrates not only the decline of British influence but also the rise of Third World powers in international diplomacy. Throughout the negotiations, however, the British continually underestimated the Turkish Government. Even today, the full extent of the Turkish role in the resolution of the Cyprus emergency continues to be underappreciated. This thesis, therefore, examines the Turkish role in the Cyprus question from 1950 to 1959. Like British officials at the time, it chronologically links Turkish domestic concerns, international responsibilities and Communist fears to the on-going Cyprus issue. It questions the traditional view of Turkey as a British pawn and argues that its Cypriot policy, from defending the status quo to pressing for partition and finally agreeing to independence, was not solely influenced by international events. Instead, Turkish policies toward Cyprus were based on a combination of global and domestic factors, as well as pressure from the Turkish Cypriot minority: just as British decolonization policies were influenced by external, internal, and colonial concerns. It concludes that the persistence of oriental stereotypes has concealed this similarity, leading to a misunderstanding of the Turkish attitude. The British perception of Turkish policies toward Cyprus not only reveals that the Turkish motivations have been oversimplified but also that these significantly influenced British strategies for maintaining sovereignty in Cyprus. The dependence of the United Kingdom on Turkish support in the Middle East, especially following events at Suez in 1956, allowed Turkey to seize the initiative in the negotiations. The 1959 agreement leading to Cypriot independence, therefore, was not the result of British planning but due to separate negotiations between the Greeks and Turks.

Tačiau I. Šeiniaus diplomatinė veikla iki šiol nėra susilaukusi platesnių tyrinėjimų. Greičiausiai viena iš šių tyrinėjimų stokos priežasčių yra tai, kad I. Šeiniaus archyvai ilgai buvo saugomi Švedijoje, ne Lietuvoje. 2011 m. įvykęs jų pargabenimas į Lietuvą sąlygojo naujų istoriografinių tyrinėjimų apie šio diplomato veiklą atsiradimą. Taigi šio darbo tikslas yra išnagrinėti I. Šeiniaus diplomatinę veiklą Švedijoje 1954-1959 m. Didžioji dalis duomenų paimti iš LCVA saugomo I. Šeiniaus fondo 675. Prisijungti prie LDT 1954 m. I. Šeinius buvo paprašytas Stasio Lozoraičio, buvusiam Lietuvos atstovui Švedijoje Vladui Žilinskui išvykus į JAV. Visą atstovavimo laikotarpį I. Šeinius dirbo kaip neoficialus Lietuvos atstovas Skandinavijos valstybėse. Ignas Scheynius – the diplomat, represented Lithuania in interwar period, after 1927 years he suspended that activity, but after Lithuanian occupation came back and attached to Lithuanian Diplomatic Servise (LDS), where he, together with others members of LDS, raised Lithuanian liberation case and represented Lithuanian name to the West countries. But I. Scheynius diplomatic activity was not explored very widely. Possibly, the one reason of the lack of that kind researches is that the archives of I. Scheynius long time were kept in Sweden, not in Lithuania. In 2011 they were brought to Lithuania and that caused the appearance of new historiography researches about I. Scheynius diplomatic activity. Therefore the aim of this paper is to investigate the diplomatic activity of I. Scheynius in 1954-1959 years. To reach the aim was analysed the documents of I. Scheynius activity saved in Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania, number of fund 675. To join to LDS in 1954 I. Scheynius was asked by LDS chief Stasys Lozoraitis, after the last representative in Sweden V. Žilinskas moved to USA. All the time of his agency I. La place occupée par Aleixandre durant le franquisme s'inscrit dans le processus de récupération par le régime d'une culture libérale et est indissociable de la valeur représentative du poète d'un héritage poétique et, par association, idéologique, tronqué par la guerre civile. Le magistère d'Aleixandre repose en partie sur la manière dont le poète transcende des oppositions esthétiques et idéologiques, symptomatiques des différents positionnements adoptés vis-à-vis d'un héritage problématique. La première partie étudie l'établissement du magistère aleixandrin à travers la réception de l'auteur dans la presse. La deuxième partie interroge les fondements textuels du magistère dans Sombra del paraíso, le recueil qui a consacré Aleixandre. La troisième partie montre comment le magistère se maintient par la personne même du poète et le mythe dont il fait l'objet comme figure fondatrice
This work is an analysis of the ambiguities of the works and viewpoints of Aleixandre between 1939 and 1959. Francoist attempts to take over parts of the pre-war liberal culture helps to explain the social, cultural and symbolic status which Aleixandre reached during these years. Aleixandre certainly stood for a poetical and ideological legacy which the new regime had initially denied and later truncated. In fact, the poet succeeded against all odds in reconciling opposing aesthetical and political stances which had been fighting against each other during the war, by building consensus around his own poetical leadership. The first part of this work shows how literary critics paved the way to the new status given to Aleixandre in 1944. The second part investigates more specifically Sombra del paraíso (1944) and the textual ground for the magisterio of Aleixandre. The third part focuses on the way the poet himself contributed to the creation of his own myth, namely the “founding father” of modern Spanish poetry

De 1919 à 1939, les municipalités rémoises sont marquées par la domination des radicaux, alliés d'abord à la SFIO puis ensuite à la droite et largement dominées par la personnalité de Paul Marchandeau. Après 1945, la situation apparaît beaucoup plus fluctuante. De 1945 à 1959 on a affaire à des municipalités fragiles qui voient se succéder à leur tête successivement un communiste, un RPF, un radical et deux MRP. C’est là le résultat cumulé du scrutin proportionnel et de l’isolement du PCF qui fait que les majorités ne peuvent se constituer qu’entre les partis non communistes aux rivalités incessantes. Mais les municipalités, ce sont aussi des individus. Deux générations d’édiles peuvent être individualisées. Celle de l’entre-deux-guerres qui vieillit progressivement en fonctions, sans se renouveler, et celle de la Quatrième République qui connaît un renouvellement plus important et apparaît davantage en phase avec la société rémoise des années 1950
From 1919 to 1939, the municipalities of Reims were marked by the domination of radical party allied to the SFIO and then to the right and largely dominated by the personality of Paul Marchandeau. After 1945 the situation appeared much more variable. From 1945 to 1959 we are dealing with fragile municipalities headed successively by a communist, an RPF, a radical and two members of MRP. This is the cumulative result of proportional representation and isolation of the FPC which led to the fact that majorities could be formed only between the non-communist parties in which was incessant rivalry.. But municipalities are represented by individuals. Two generations of councilors can be individualized. The one that was in office between the two world wars who remained in office without any significant change and the one of the Fourth Republic, who experienced a larger renewal and appeared to be more in line with the Reims society of the time

En un período de intensos quince años entre 1954 y 1969 se fragua un cambio de paradigma de los modelos conservativos definidos por el movimiento moderno hasta los sistemas auto-organizados. Esta profunda transformación puede ser explicada a partir de dos líneas paralelas: por un lado por las declaraciones de intenciones o manifiestos que surgen en oposición a los sistemas cerrados y por otra por las influencias de las teorías científicas de la época. Seis manifiestos con una cierta condición interdisciplinar, debido a su contagio con campos como la biología, la química, la cibernética o la autoorganización, cambiarán el rumbo de este nuevo urbanismo emergente: el Manifiesto de Doorn (1954), el Manifiesto de la Open Form de Oskar Hansen (1959), los Principios de la Urbanismo Móvil de Yona Friedman (1959), el Manifiesto Metabolista (1960), la arquitectura aditiva de Jorn Utzon (1958-1970) y finalmente el provocativo manifiesto-experimento "Non-Plan: An Experiment in Freedom" de Paul Barker, Peter Hall, Reyner Banham y Cedric Price. During a vivid period of fifteen years between 1954 and 1969, there’s a paradigm shift from conservative models defined by the modern movement to self-organizing systems. Two parallel lines can explain this profound transformation: on one side, by the statements or manifestos in opposition to closed systems and, on the other, by the influences of scientific theories at the time. Six manifestos with a certain interdisciplinary condition, associated to fields such as biology, chemistry, cybernetics or self-organization, change the direction of this new emerging urbanism: The Doorn Manifesto (1954), Oskar Hansen’s Open Form Manifesto (1959), Yona Friedman’s Principles of Mobile Urbanism (1959), the Metabolist Manifesto (1960), Additive architecture by Jorn Utzon (1958-1970) and finally the provocative experiment-manifesto "Non-Plan: An Experiment in Freedom” by Paul Barker, Peter Hall, Reyner Banham and Cedric Price

O presente texto visa apresentar um estudo explanatório sobre as participações do pintor italiano Alberto Burri (1915-1995) na Bienal Internacional de São Paulo. Para isso, analisaremos sua presença nas exposições de 1955, 1959, 1965 e 1979, tendo como principal fonte os textos publicados nos catálogos produzidos pela Bienal. Nessas quatro Bienais, Burri participou com 34 pinturas. Juntas, elas formam um conjunto significativo por possibilitar, uma análise de sua produção artística, apresentada no país, quanto uma avaliação do debate artístico sobre abstração informal, entre Brasil e Itália.

O movimento concreto em São Paulo surgiu oficialmente em 1952 por meio de exposição no Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM-SP). Ativo enquanto grupo coeso até 1959, em torno do grupo Ruptura, entrou em debates com outras correntes artísticas e assumiu postos de relevo no meio artístico local. O problema do presente artigo se refere à atuação do concretismo na modernização do campo artístico brasileiro ao longo das décadas. O objetivo é compreender como se deu a afirmação da geração concretista na cidade de São Paulo após a década de 1950. Ainda que o período de 1952 a 1959 seja considerado o histórico do movimento concreto, pode-se entender o movimento sob outros vieses. Assim, aqui o concretismo paulista é estudado em seus desdobramentos posteriores, isto é, o concretismo depois de seu auge, os artistas concretistas sem o apoio do movimento concretista.

Science and technology of Republican China (1912-1949) often replicated the West in all hierarchies. However, in 1949 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) declared the nation the People's Republic of China, it had assumed Soviet pseudo-science, namely neo-Lamarckian and anti-Mendelian Lysenkoism, which led to intense propaganda campaigns that victimized intellectuals and natural scientists. Not until the 1956 Double Hundred Campaign had China engaging in meaningful exploration into modern genetics with advancements of Morgan. The CCP encouraged discussions on the impact of Lysenkoism which cultivated guidelines to move science forward. However, Mao ended the campaign by asserting the Anti-Rightist Movement (1957) that reinstated the persecution of intellectuals, for he believed they did not contribute to his socialist ethos of the working people. The Great Leap Forward (1958-1959), an idealist and unrealistic attempt to rapidly industrialize the nation, and the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), a grand attempt to rid China of the "technological elite," extended China's lost years to a staggering two decades. Post-Mao China rapidly revived its science and technology frontier with specialized sciences: agricultural biotechnology, major genomic ventures, modernizing Traditional Chinese Medicine, and stem-cell research. Major revisions to the country’s patent laws increased international interest in China’s resources. However, bioethical and technical standards still need to be implemented and locally and nationally monitored if China’s scientific advances are to be globally accepted and commercialized.
