Повний текст джерелаInom maskininlärning är representationslärande en samling tekniker som omvandlar rådata till en teknik som effektivt kan utvecklas genom maskininlärning. Under senare år har djup neurala nätverksbaserad representationsinlärningsteknologi använts i stor utsträckning för bildinlärning, igenkänning, klassificering och andra områden, och ett av de representativa är den ömsesidiga informationsberäknaren / kodaren. I denna avhandling föreslås en ny form av kontrastiv förlustfunktion som kan tillämpas på befintliga nätverk för ömsesidig informationskodare. Djup inlärningsbaserad representationsinlärning skiljer sig mycket från traditionella maskininlärningsextraheringsalgoritmer. I allmänhet är de funktioner som erhålls genom funktionsekstraktion ytnivå och kan förstås av människor, medan representationsinlärningen lär sig de underliggande strukturerna för data, som är lätta att förstå av maskiner men svåra för människor. Baserat på ovanstående skillnader kan människans förkunskaper om uppgifterna spela en stor roll, när skalan av data är liten, så funktionsekstraktionsalgoritmen har en större fördel; när skalan på data ökar kommer komponenten i förkunskaperna att minska kraftigt. För närvarande behövs den starka beräkningsförmågan för djup inlärning för att kompensera för denna brist, varför effekten av representationslärande blir bättre. Forskningen som gjorts i denna avhandling är främst inriktad på en mer speciell situation där utbildningsdata är liten och omfattningen av testdata är stor. I det här fallet är det två frågor som måste beaktas, det ena är fördelningen av modellen, och den andra är det överpassade problemet med modellen. LMIE-modellen (labelbaserad ömsesidig informationsberäknare) som föreslås i denna avhandling har vissa fördelar när det gäller båda frågorna. LMIE-modellen innehåller huvudsakligen tre delar: (a) en neural baseradömsesidig informationskodare; (b) en beräkningsmodul för förlustfunktion; (c) en linjär klassificering. Bland dem är förlustfunktionsberäkningsmodulen den viktigaste, liksom huvudfaktorn som skiljer denna modell från andra modeller.

Повний текст джерелаNarrative transculturation is a phenomenon that entails creating new products due to the incorporation of cultural and linguistic elements to a dominant culture and their loss on the dominated one. These elements are expressed through language, literary structure and worldview. During the translation process, translators make different kind of decisions in order to create a target text that includes the same cultural equivalence that the original text already has. When a transcultural text is translated, specific procedures are needed to achieve the most accurate rewording of the source text on the final product which, at the same time, seeks for the understanding of the target audience. Therefore, the following research focuses on the analysis of the narrative transcultural translation phenomenon on Deep Rivers, written by José María Arguedas and translated by Frances Horning Barraclough. In addition, the aim of this investigation is to identify the transcultural elements in Los ríos profundos with the purpose of recognizing the translation techniques and analyze the use paratexts during the translation process. In this investigation, in order to identify and analyze transcultural elements in Los ríos profundos, content analysis technique will be use through the elaboration of the codification book. Furthermore, the contrastive textual analysis technique will be applied through index tabs to show fragments, lexemes and syntagmas of both the source and target text. As a result, the procedures that Frances Horning Barraclough used for the translation of the transcultural elements in Los ríos profundos will be presented.

Повний текст джерелаThe Bible states that man was created by God with the characteristic ability to name and to speak (Redmonds, 2004). Albaigès (1998) and Darlington (2015) refer to the issue of names as a fascinating topic but it had only been regarded as a pastime (García-Cornejo, 2001; Redmonds, 2004). Although in recent times the interest in this subject has grown, until now most of the research has been devoted to the exploration of surnames and place names (Postles, 2002; Alomar, 2005). The names themselves as well as the reactions to names are full of expressivity (Evans & Green, 2006). Many different factors can be involved in the choice of a name, e.g. euphony, fashion, family tradition, religion, books, films (Withycombe, 1971; Zittoun, 2004). This study uses a comparative perspective in order to provide more empirical evidence for the significance of forenames, hypocorisms and nicknames in our lives by exploring more closely their richness and colourfulness, as portrayed in people’s reactions to them, in two different languages, English and Spanish. The participants were 425 males and females over 25 year-old whose usual place of residence was the metropolitan district of Murcia or Leeds. A semi-structured questionnaire with two versions, in Spanish and English, was used. The study was conducted over a period of two years (2010-2012). First of all, the metropolitan districts were chosen. Our participants were then selected from those who met the conditions previously mentioned (quota non-probability sampling strategy). Later, the questionnaire was designed. A personal interview modality was used (Rincón, 1991), which took about 10 minutes to complete. The data were analysed by using the statistical package SPSS 19.0.0 for Windows. Univariate, bivariate and association analysis techniques were used. Qualitative analyses of the quantitative information and a purely qualitative analysis of spontaneous comments from the participants were undertaken. The findings reveal that in both municipal districts, the younger the participant, the higher the rate of preference for shortened, changed or lengthened name forms. However, other factors (e.g. religion or beauty) may also have a bearing on the extent to which one form is chosen over another. Although most forenames assessed in terms of sound are liked in Murcia and Leeds, some such as Jéssica or Jénnifer are not favourably positioned in Spain, origin being involved in the fact that these names receive negative liking ratings. In Murcia and its surrounds respondents find more funny connotations than in Leeds and districts, especially as a result of the different associations evoked. The name versions Antonia-Antonella and Sonia-Sofía/Sophia elicit a similar rate of preferences in the two municipal districts, with a tendency towards Antonia and Sofía/Sophia, respectively. In the latter group most of the participants prefer the sound of the complete name rather than a sound or sounds in particular. Non-pejorative reasons (simply disliking the sound) are more common in both countries. The most disliked name in Murcia and districts is always the female counterpart while the choice is more balanced in terms of gender in Leeds and its surrounds. Emotional reactions are found in which neither the interpretations of questions nor the answers are categorical. Association is the factor par excellence, with a clear tendency towards associating names with football and T.V. celebrities on the part of Spaniards and literature on the part of Britons. The lexis used by participants is very varied and rich. Spaniards are more direct and explicit. Comments about names are full of expressive language: we find hyperboles, metaphors, metonymies, similes, symbols, sound symbolism and word play. Like Tsirópulos (1987), now we also feel the richness of names, their LIFE. The results obtained in this research project have provided us with some important findings, but there are obvious limitations. Using a more substantial number of name exemplars would be recommended in order to further substantiate and validate the conclusions of this study.

Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this doctoral thesis is to examine the use of temporal markers, temporal adverbs and discourse markers, in specialised texts (sociologic essays) from a pragmatic perspective. These markers play an important role in the characterization of the essays as specialized texts. As a matter of fact, these markers provide the texts with an argumentative strength, being the discussion presented in a coherent manner. In this line of research, we have studied the uses of déjà, encore, toujours, jamais ,and alors among others, extracted from La défaite de la pensée of A. Fienkielkraut, L'après-socialisme de A. Touraine, Histoire de la folie à l'âge classique de M. Foucault and Paraboles et catastrophes de R. Thom. We have choiced theses markers because they present dificulties in the traduction exercise.Actually, temporal markers are polisemic and can be ambiguous in translations. It is the reason why we have decided to study the temporal markers from a contrastive perspective (french / spanish) to compare the two sistems and apreciate the differencies between them. We explain the polisemic character of the temporal markers thanks to the radial conception of the marker category from the cognitive perspective of Sperber & Wilson. Temporal markers have nuclear or central senses (that are temporal ones) and peripheric senses (that can be argumentative, as the concession).

Повний текст джерелаBased on a contrastive analysis, this thesis deals with the verbal structure in French and Russian. Its objective is to establish a reflexive look at the two languages in order to determine the difference and the similarity in their verbal construction. Exploring the question of the verbs of different structure, it also tries to find the difficulties caused by this difference in learning. Thus, in this research, problematic verbs are spoken of in a didactic as well as linguistic angle. This work, composed of three chapters, speaks first of all about the transitive/intransitive status of verbs in both languages by treating the traditional and modern approach and sets up a contrastive study in relation to the valence question. Verbal construction is explored with complement in the second chapter of the research. In this part, the parallel analysis of the verbs is performed in order to identify their functioning according to the grammatical means of each language. And finally, the comparison of each verb considered problematical to the learning in both languages followed by tables took the part of the last chapter. The production of preliminary tests with Russian-speaking learners is also part of this work in order to better understand the difficulties of the latter during the communication

Повний текст джерелаIn this study we investigate the main characteristics of the oral speech of brazilians Spanish teachers as foreign language group. Our main objective was identifying at what extent the Portuguese interference was present. The data was obtained through recordings of classes and oral interviews. The data analysis was based on the method of error analysis and contrastive linguistics through the contrast of different dictionaries. We studied the frequency of errors and described and explained the different types of lexical errors. The results show that: teachers have an interlanguage characterized by a high rate of both inter and intralinguistic errors; interlinguistic errors are more common than intralinguistic errors and lexical errors are the most frequently. The conclusions suggest the need of continuous training courses to develop the teachers' linguistic competence and advise a readjustment of degree programs for teacher training, based on specific features that involves learning a similar language.

Повний текст джерелаThe major problems relating to false friends entail difficulties for most students in terms of pronunciation, writing and interaction in a foreign language. With false friends we refer to words or structures of different languages that display morphological affinity but, at the same time, semantic divergence. Examples of (total or partial) false linguistic relations between mother tongue and target language abound. Nevertheless, a practical experience concerning this subject is quite scarce. False friends are either omitted or reduced, in general, to lists or inventories of the most notable cases. Hence, false friends are not (much) integrated in the foreign language classroom along with other teaching and learning strategies and tactics for a meaningful instruction. Consequently, this Ph.D. thesis aims at providing relevant aspects of both theoretical and practical nature in relation to the typology, the uses and the didactic value of false friends as instances of interlinguistic influence. In conjunction therewith, the contrastive perspective makes available the epistemological elements of the present analysis: the speakers are naturally prone to transfer structures and meanings and distributions of these structures and meanings of their mother tongue or of their first foreign language to another foreign language to learn. This basic statement is analyzed by means of Contrastive Linguistics which includes psycholinguistic and educational postulates of two complementary methodologies: Contrastive Analysis and Analysis of Errors. In addition, there are considered the principles that define Plurilingualism by investigating the recent studies regarding interlinguistic influences when learning a foreign language. In light of the theoretical assumptions, interferences result from the relationship between the mother tongue and the foreign language. However, to learn two or more foreign languages is a worldwide tendency nowadays, therefore delimitations in the learning processes could not be given between the mother tongue and the target language exclusively. Thus, a first foreign language can be a factor that positively or negatively influences when learning a second foreign language. In this regard, the present paper is an attempt to cover different aspects on the topic of false friends when Spanish (second foreign language to learn) comes into contact with English (first foreign language) and Romanian or Dutch (mother tongues).
Els falsos amics constitueixen una de les dificultats principals que afronten els discents que persegueixen parlar, escriure i interaccionar en una llengua estrangera. Amb un fals amic s'indica una paraula o estructura d'un idioma estranger que s'assembla, en l'escrit o en la forma oral, a una paraula o estructura en la llengua materna del parlant, però que compta amb un significat diferent. Abunden els exemples de falses relacions lingüístiques (totals o parcials) entre llengua materna i llengua meta. No obstant això, l'experiència pràctica respecte a aquest tema d'exploració és força escassa. Els falsos amics o bé s'ometen, o bé es redueixen, en general, a llistes o inventaris dels casos més notables i, per tant, no s'integren a l'aula juntament amb altres estratègies i tàctiques d'ensenyament-aprenentatge per a una instrucció significativa. Conseqüentment, es pretén amb la present tesi doctoral aportar aspectes rellevants, tant teòrics com de caràcter pràctic, pel que fa a la tipologia, els usos i la utilitat i interés didàctic a les aules d’ELE dels falsos amics com mostres d’interferències interlingüístiques. Vinculat amb això, la perspectiva contrastiva subministra els elements epistemològics d'anàlisi: els parlants són naturalment propensos a passar estructures i significats i distribucions d'aquestes estructures i significats de la seva llengua materna o la seva primera llengua d'aprenentatge a una altra llengua estrangera que estan aprenent. Aquesta suposició bàsica precisa el camp d'aplicació de la Lingüística Contrastiva que engloba postulats psicolingüístics i pedagògics de dues metodologies complementàries entre sí: Anàlisi Contrastiva i Anàlisi d'Errors. També, es valoren els princips del Plurilingüisme amb indagar en els últims desenvolupaments sobre les influències interlingüístiques quan s’aprèn una llengua estrangera. A la llum de les premisses teòriques, les interferències són efecte de la relació entre la llengua materna i la llengua estrangera que s'estudia. D'altra banda, avui en dia, aprendre dos o més idiomes estrangers és una disposició mundial, per aquest motiu la delimitació en els processos d'aprenentatge no es dóna exclusivament entre la llengua materna i la llengua meta. Així doncs, una primera llengua estrangera apresa pot resultar un factor que influeixi positivament o negativament en una segona o tercera llengua estrangera que s'està aprenent. En aquest sentit, amb aquesta recerca l'atenció es polaritza al voltant dels falsos amics quan l'espanyol (segona llengua estrangera) entra en contacte amb l'anglès (primera llengua estrangera) i el romanès o l'holandès (llengües maternes).

Повний текст джерелаSuccessive Contrast is one of the experimental paradigms that models the experience of loss. On it, organisms are no longer exposed to reinforcing, appetitive and/or preferred events, but to some others with less quality or value. This results in different behavioral strategies characterized by an important emotional component, a decrement in the response not any longer associated with the consequence (consummatory or operant), an increment in less likely responses, and a preservation of behavioral structure from before the impairment. The role of the antecedent and / or discriminative stimuli involved, which constitute the current part of the contingency that has been broken, has also shown to be compromised. However, the interaction between these characteristics has been studied separately, either by technical complications or by theoretical isolation between paradigms. In this study, we propose a procedure to obtain a more comprehensive characterization of the behavioral strategies that emerge in a situation of loss, taking advantage of the topological and functional versatility of the ocular response, and the availability of technical resources that allow to obtain precise measurements of it. To solve this, alternatives for responding with different values of reinforcement were available. 192 photographs from the IAPS were categorized into six categories according to their emotional value and their content: Erotic, Puppies (Pleasant), Natural Landscapes, Artificial Landscapes (Neutral), Diseases and Violence (Unpleasant). Pairs of these photographs were presented in a four-quadrant arrangement on the computer screen, consistently preceded by specific geometric figures for each category, while fixation times were recorded with an eye tracker. A seventh geometric figure was randomly paired with photographs of all categories. After reaching a stability criterion based on the ranking and correspondence between the fixation times of the Geometric Figures and the Photographs, the Photographs of the most observed category were replaced by Photographs of the one corresponding to the third place, but continued to be preceded by the same Geometric Figure. The results showed that the procedure worked well within our experimental conditions and manipulation. It was possible to establish a ranking from the ocular responses among the categories and to characterize a pattern of observation after the introduced incongruity. The preferences exhibited by the participant were reorganized, with an increase in the fixation time of the pleasant categories, avoidance of photographs of the category Disease while its geometric Figure became more observed, and an increase in the fixation time of the category of random images. On the changed Categories, the photographs of Pups (third category in the ranking) that began to be preceded by the geometric Figure corresponding to the category Violence (the most observed category), were less observed than those preceded by the geometric figure trained in the previous phase. The improvements that the procedure could have as well as the use of the most appropriate measures in the exploration of several behavioral phenomena are discussed. It is analyzed if the results can be understood within the contrast paradigm and finally comments are made on the need to take advantage of the technical developments that allow to execute more complex experiments
