The modern higher school main aim is to prepare an intelligent, creative and professional mobile specialist, who can quickly adapt to all changes and his/her careers change. There is the practice-oriented concept of the future ecologists’ professional mobility. The concept makes the unity of the theoretical and methodological approaches for the future ecologists’ professional mobility development process in higher school. We take the projects as an example of using the problem project approach: 1) modern environmental problems; 2) environmental and economic issues; 3) knowledge of an ecologist; 4) Industrial Ecology. The foundation of the practice-oriented concept of the future ecologists’ professional mobility in higher school presents laws and principles. The implementation of the concept is a future ecologists’ professional mobility system in higher school. It presents an integration of the components: aim component, diagnostic and design component, motivation and promotion component, content component, organization and activity component, evaluation and diagnostic component.

The material properties of a steel slab produced during continuous casting are significantly influenced by the kinetics of the austenite(γ)-to-ferrite(α) phase transformation. Former theoretical models either have used a semi-empirical approach (such as the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami equation) or simplified the situation by assuming an infinite mobility of the phase interface and/or zero mobility of substitutionally dissolved components. In general the transformation kinetics in a multi-component system depends on the interface mobility and on the diffusion of the components. A finite mobility model for the phase transformation has been developed that takes into account the diffusion of substitutionally dissolved components. As an example the kinetics of the γ/α-phase transformation is simulated in the Fe-Cr-Ni system.

With the onset of COVID-19 and the resulting shelter in place guidelines combined with remote working practices, human mobility in 2020 has been dramatically impacted. Existing studies typically examine whether mobility in specific localities increases or decreases at specific points in time and relate these changes to certain pandemic and policy events. However, a more comprehensive analysis of mobility change over time is needed. In this paper, we study mobility change in the US through a five-step process using mobility footprint data. (Step 1) Propose the Delta Time Spent in Public Places (ΔTSPP) as a measure to quantify daily changes in mobility for each US county from 2019-2020. (Step 2) Conduct Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to reduce the ΔTSPP time series of each county to lower-dimensional latent components of change in mobility. (Step 3) Conduct clustering analysis to find counties that exhibit similar latent components. (Step 4) Investigate local and global spatial autocorrelation for each component. (Step 5) Conduct correlation analysis to investigate how various population characteristics and behavior correlate with mobility patterns. Results show that by describing each county as a linear combination of the three latent components, we can explain 59% of the variation in mobility trends across all US counties. Specifically, change in mobility in 2020 for US counties can be explained as a combination of three latent components: 1) long-term reduction in mobility, 2) no change in mobility, and 3) short-term reduction in mobility. Furthermore, we find that US counties that are geographically close are more likely to exhibit a similar change in mobility. Finally, we observe significant correlations between the three latent components of mobility change and various population characteristics, including political leaning, population, COVID-19 cases and deaths, and unemployment. We find that our analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of mobility change in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: Many people with lower limb amputation experience mobility impairment and reduced quality of life. Mobility clinics are designed to improve mobility and quality of life for people with lower limb amputation, but their effectiveness is unknown. Objectives: To compare changes in mobility prior to, and 12 weeks following participation in mobility clinic for people with lower limb amputation, and to explain whether changes in mobility explained changes in quality of life. To determine whether the PLUS-M™ was sensitive to the effects of participation in the mobility clinic, and to estimate the sample size required for a definitive study. Study design: Longitudinal observational. Methods: Electronic versions of the PLUS-M and SF-36v2® were completed by people living in the community with lower limb amputation prior to, and 12 weeks following participation in a mobility clinic. Results: There was a significant increase in mobility from baseline to 12 weeks post participation in the clinic ( p = 0.012). Changes in mobility explained a significant proportion of variance in the SF-36v2 mental component summary ( p = 0.024) but not the physical component summary ( p = 0.804). Conclusion: For people with lower limb amputation, mobility increased after participation in the clinic and this explained improvements in SF-36v2 mental component summary. The PLUS-M was sensitive enough to detect a change in mobility over time. Clinical relevance This preliminary data indicated that participation in a mobility clinic improved mobility and the mental components of quality of life for people living with lower limb amputation. The PLUS-M™ seems sensitive to changes in mobility as a result of participation in a mobility clinic.

Abstract We have used NMR relaxation and pulsed-gradient diffusion measurements at 70 °C in unfilled butadiene rubber (BR) before and after crosslinking, and after subsequent devulcanization by intense ultrasound. In an effort to support this method of rubber recycling, characterization has been performed at the molecular level. The transverse relaxation (T2) decay was successfully described using a three-component model. The components are attributed to entangled and crosslinked networks; light sol and dangling network fragments; and partially unreactive oligomers. All component molecular mobilities and the relative contributions of the components to the echo were investigated. Devulcanization decreases the diffusivity of the oligomer remnants and increases mean diffusivity of the light sol. The additional amount of extractable sol produced by devulcanization of BR is more than that of silicone rubber, indicating that the ultrasonic devulcanization of BR is more efficient than that of silicone rubber. The present results are compared with our previous NMR studies of devulcanized rubbers.

SummaryProsthetic dislocation is one of the most common complications after canine hip replacement. The use of dual mobility acetabular components has been shown to reduce the rate of dislocation in first intent hip replacement in human patients who are at high risk for dislocation. In such implants, a mobile polyethylene liner articulates on one side with a metallic acetabular component and on the other side with a metallic prosthetic head. A dual mobility cemented acetabular component has been designed for use in dogs, and is available for use in association with a previously designed modular femoral component. This report describes the characteristics and the procedure for implantation of this implant combination.

ABSTRACT Patients undergoing a revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) are at increased risk for dislocation. The literature suggests dual-mobility components may decrease the frequency of dislocation. We conducted a retrospective study of one type of dual mobility acetabular component implanted in 82 revision THA cases that were considered at increased risk for dislocation. Of the 82 hips, 58 had a mean follow-up of 12 months (3–28 months). The indication for revision was instability in 18 hips (31%), adverse metal-on-metal reaction in 13 hips (22%), reimplantation for infection in 11 hips (19%), and aseptic loosening of the acetabular component in 9 hips (16%). In the course of follow-up, 6 hips developed a deep infection requiring reoperation. There were no early hip dislocations. Histories of modern mobility often assume that modern forms of movement arrived in East Asia as part of a universal process of historical development. This article shows that the valorization of modern mobility in East Asia emerged out of the specific context of Euro-American imperial encroachment and Japanese imperial expansion. Through an examination of the tropes of opening and connecting, the article argues that the mobility of the modern can be understood as an “imperial” mobility in two senses: one, as a key component in European, American, and Japanese arguments for the legitimacy of empire; and two, as a global theory of history that constituted circulation as a measure of historical difference.

Cette thèse étudie différents mécanismes par lesquels l'immobilier des entreprises influe sur l'investissement, l'emploi et la mobilité des Sociétés Non-Financières (SNFs). L'actif immobilier représente une part très importante de la valeur de l'actif des entreprises et les locaux constituent souvent un des principaux postes de dépenses des SNFs. Les prix de l'immobilier ont un effet sur la valeur de l'actif que les entreprises peuvent déposer en garantie et sur le coût des facteurs de production. Dans le cadre d'un marché du crédit frictionnel, la capacité d'emprunt des entreprises peut être accrue par une hausse de la valeur de marché des actifs. Les deux premiers chapitres de cette thèse étudient cet effet de collatéral et ses conséquences sur l'investissement et l'emploi. Le premier chapitre présente une modélisation dynamique qui met l'accent sur le comportement des variables relatives au marché du travail. Le second chapitre explore les effets hétérogènes entre entreprises en analysant des données microéconomiques. Le dernier chapitre porte sur les conséquences des spécificités des coûts d'ajustement de l'immobilier. En étudiant le comportement de mobilité d'entreprises qui sont soumises à des coûts de déménagement différenciés, nous mettons en évidence un effet notable des coûts associés au changement de la taille des locaux sur la dynamique de l'emploi
This thesis studies channels through which corporate real-estate affects investment, employment and mobility of Non-Financial Corporations (NFCs). Real-estate assets account for a sizable share of firms' asset value and premises are often one of the main expenditure items of NFCs. Real-estate prices hence have a bearing on the value of firms' pledgeable assets and on the cost of inputs. In a frictional credit market, the firms' borrowing capacity can be enhanced by an increase in asset's value. The first two chapters of this thesis study this collateral channel and its effects on investment and employment. The first chapter proposes a dynamic setting with a focus on labor market variables whereas the second explores heterogeneous effects across firms, based on micro-data. The last chapter examines the consequences of the peculiarities of real-estate adjustment costs. Studying the relocation behaviour of firms facing varying moving costs, we document important effects of the costs associated with a change in the size of the premises on the employment dynamics

La conception assistée par ordinateur (CAO) a été l'un des domaines de recherche fondamental dans la conception automatisée pendant de nombreuses années. Les centres d'intérêt principaux sont les processus exigés pour concevoir différentes pièces, pour simuler leur comportement et pour les inspecter. Le module d’ensemble, qui adresse actuellement le produit entier, par comparaison ; est beaucoup moins étudié et un des processus peu compris dans la conception, sachant que presque tous les logiciels de CAO sont orientés vers les pièces seules. Afin d'offrir un outil pour l'analyse du modèle de produit cette recherche se concentre sur la simulation des opérations d'assemblage et de désassemblage (A/D), une plateforme de simulation étant proposée. Des simulations d'A/D peuvent être effectuées de manière automatisées ou interactives utilisant le matériel informatique standard ou par des simulations immersives en temps réel. Par conséquent, la plateforme proposée est basée sur un nouveau type de processus de simulation adressant jusqu'à deux types de représentations de forme (B-Rep NURBS et polydrique). Cet environnement peut aider les concepteurs pour réaliser une analyse satisfaisante d'ensembles rapidement et peut réduire le temps du développement de produits. Un autre bénéfice de ce travail est la capacité de produire des modèles et des traitements qui améliorent l'intégration des modèles d'assemblages dans des environnements immersifs avec les modèles haptiques et visuels requis. En plus, un opérateur spécifique qui produit des contraintes cinématiques dans le voisinage des configurations de contact est proposé pour déterminer à tout moment les mouvements valides entre les composants. Ainsi, la complexité des algorithmes de détection de collision dans les environnements de simulation en temps réel est réduite. Cette opération est basée sur le modèle mathématique et sur une représentation qui offre la possibilité de décrire toutes les combinaisons valides des phases de montage et de démontage d'un produit
Assembly/Disassembly (A/D) simulations are important to improve design and efficiency of product development processes. In order to get efficient simulation processes it is important to simulate all the possible relative movements between the components in a mechanical assembly. This is important both in the context of interactive simulation and in the context of immersive/real time simulations. If some categories of movements are missing, simulations can loose key configurations, hence they may be no longer meaningful. The scope in research, whiting this thesis deals, in the first time, with a theoretical approach for developing of a kinematical model able to represent all the valid relative movements of a reference component with respect to its surrounding ones, which form a family of trajectories. It is based on the analysis of the three basic movements: translation, rotation and helical ones. In order to determine the compatibility between different families of trajectories, a bi-quaternion is associated to each contact area between the different components. All possible trajectories for each component are analyzed, for the three basic type of movements, in order to find the compatible ones, which leads to the specification of an operator. Thus, the results of all the possible associations are determined and a general combination operator is proposed. The properties of this later are demonstrated as well. The operator can form, in a real time simulation environment, the basis for determining at each moment, the valid movements between components, thus reducing the complexity of collision detection algorithms. The A/D simulations can be performed either from an automated or interactive point of view using standard computer equipment or through immersive and real-time simulation schemes. In order to address this diversity of configurations, a simulation framework was developed. It is based on a new simulation preparation process which allows a simulation process to address up to two types of shape representations, i. E. B-Rep NURBS and polyhedral ones, at the same time, thus handling efficiently the configurations where 3D shape representations of assemblies play a key role. In order to illustrate the simulation process the automatic identification of contacts in a 3D product model and their corresponding list is described. After the identification stage, an interpretation of the results is needed in order to have the complete list with the mechanical contacts for a product. The preparation process is performed within three major stages : model tessellation, surface merging and contacts identification. The framework is based on STEP exchange format. This software environment can assist designers to achieve a satisfactory assembly analysis rapidly and can reduce the lead-time of product development. Further consequences of the present work is its ability to produce models and treatments that improve integration of assembly models in immersive environments taking into account of the haptic and visual models needed. Assembly/Disassembly simulations using haptic devices are facing difficulties while simulating insertion/extraction operations such as removing cylinders from holes for example. In order to address this configuration as well as others, an approach based on the kinematic model and on the simulation framework is proposed

The impact of spatial characteristics on the dynamics of urban development is a topic of great interest in urban studies. The interaction between the residents and the spatial characteristics is of particular interest in the context of urban models where some of the most famous urban models have been based on the process of individual settlements in some specific parts of cities.This research investigates the dynamism of urban development modeled by Cellular Automata and Multi-Agent System. The urban development, in this study embraces urban renewal and residential mobility. It corresponds to the residential mobility of households, attracted by residential and centrality comfort; these comforts are crystallized in some areas and residences of Strasbourg. The diversity and quality of these comforts become criteria for residential choice in a way that the households seek for proximity to these comforts.The Cellular Automata in this study, models the spatial characteristics of urban spatial units and they are identified by some inherent attributes that are equal to the comfort in residences and urban areas. The Multi- Agent System represent a system in which the population of the city interact between them and between them and the city; the agents delegate the socio-professional classes of households. During the spatiotemporal change, the aspiration of households forms the socio-spatio-temporal development of the city.

In this work we propose a methodology for providing real-time capabilities to component-based, on-the-fly reconfigurable, distributed systems. In such systems, software components migrate across computational resources at run-time to allow applications to adapt to changes in user requirements or to external events. We describe how we achieve run-time reconfiguration in distributed Java applications by appropriately migrating servers. Guaranteed-rate schedulers at the servers provide the necessary temporal protection and so simplify remote method invocation management. We describe how we manage overhead and resource utilization by controlling the parameters of the server schedulers. According to our measurements, this methodology provides real-time capability to component-based reconfigurable distributed systems in an effcient and effective way. In addition, we propose a new resource discovery protocol, REALTOR, which is based on a combination of pull-based and push-based resource information dissemination. REALTOR has been designed for real-time component-based distributed applications in very dynamic or adverse environments. REALTOR supports survivability and information assurance by allowing the migration of components to safe locations under emergencies suchas externalattack, malfunction, or lackofresources. Simulation studies show that under normal and heavy load conditions REALTOR remains very effective in finding available resources, and does so with a reasonably low communication overhead.REALTOR 1)effectively locates resources under highly dynamic conditions, 2) has an overhead that is system-size independent, and 3) works well in highlyadverse environments.We evaluate the effectiveness of a REALTOR implementation as part of Agile Objects, an infrastructure for real-time capable, highly mobile Java components.

The idea behind this report is based on the fact that it is not only the number of users in the traffic network that is increasing, the number of connected devices such as probe vehicles and mobile sources has increased dramatically in the last decade. These connected devices provide large-scale mobility data and new opportunities to analyze the current traffic situation as they traverse through the network and continuously send out different types of information like Global Positioning System (GPS) data and Mobile Network Data (MND). Travel demand is often described in terms of an Origin Destination (OD) matrix which represents the number of trips from an origin zone to a destination zone in a geographic area. The aim of this master thesis is to develop and evaluate a data-driven method for estimation of dynamic OD matrices using unsupervised learning, sensor fusion and large-scale mobility data. Traditionally, OD matrices are estimated based on travel surveys and link counts. The problem is that these sources of information do not provide the quality required for online control of the traffic network. A method consisting of an offline process and an online process has therefore been developed. The offline process utilizes historical large-scale mobility data to improve an inaccurate prior OD matrix. The online process utilizes the results and tuning parameters from the offline estimation in combination with real-time observations to describe the current traffic situation. A simulation study on a toy network with synthetic data was used to evaluate the data-driven estimation method. Observations based on GPS data, MND and link counts were simulated via a traffic simulation tool. The results showed that the sensor fusion algorithms Kalman filter and Kalman filter smoothing can be used when estimating dynamic OD matrices. The results also showed that the quality of the data sources used for the estimation is of high importance. Aggregating large-scale mobility data as GPS data and MND by using the unsupervised learning method Principal Component Analysis (PCA) improves the quality of the large-scale mobility data and so the estimation results.

Le projet industriel français MEGaN vise le développement de module de puissance à base de compostant HEMT en GaN. Une des application industrielle concerne l’aéronautique avec une forte contrainte en isolation galvanique (>100 kV/s) et en température ambiante (200°C). Le travail de thèse a été concentré sur une brique module de puissance (bras d’onduleur 650 V 30 A). L’objectif est d’atteindre un prototype de facteur de forme peu épais, 30 cm2 et embarquant l’ensemble des fonctions driver, alimentation de driver, la capacité de bus et capteur de courant phase. Cet objectif implique un fort rendement énergétique, et le respect de l’isolation galvanique alors que la contrainte en surface est forte. Le manuscrit, outre l’état de l’art relatif au module de puissance et notamment celui à base de transistor GaN HEMT, aborde une solution d’isolation de signaux de commande à base de micro-transformateur. Des prototypes de micro-transformateur ont été caractérisés et vieillis pendant 3000 H pour évaluer la robustesse de la solution. Les travaux ont contribué à la caractérisation de plusieurs composants GaN afin de mûrir des modèles pour la simulation circuit de topologie de convertisseur. Au sein du travail collaboratif MEGaN, notre contribution ne concernait pas la conception du circuit intégré (driver de grille), tout en ayant participé à la validation des spécifications, mais une stratégie d’alimentation du driver de grille. Une première proposition d’alimentation isolée pour le driver de grille a privilégié l’utilisation de composants GaN basse-tension. La topologie Flyback résonante avec clamp permet de tirer le meilleur parti de ces composants GaN mais pose la contrainte du transformateur de puissance. Plusieurs technologies pour la réalisation du transformateur ont été validées expérimentalement et notamment une proposition originale enfouissement du composant magnétique au sein d’un substrat polymère haute-température. En particulier, un procédé de fabrication peu onéreux permet d’obtenir un dispositif fiable (1000 H de cyclage entre - 55 ; + 200°C), avec un rendement intrinsèque de 88 % pour 2 W transférés. La capacité parasite d’isolation est réduite par rapport aux prototypes précédent. Deux prototypes d’alimentations à forte intégration utilisent soit les transistors GaN basse tension (2.4 MHz, 2 W, 74 %, 6 cm2), soit un circuit intégré dédié en technologie CMOS SOI, conçu pour l’application (1.2 MHz, 2 W, 77 %, 8.5 cm2). Le manuscrit propose par la suite une solution intégrable de mesure de courant de phase du bras de pont, basé sur une magnétorésistance. La comparaison expérimentale vis à vis d’une solution à résistance de shunt. Enfin, deux prototypes de convertisseur sont décrits, dont une a pu faire l’objet d’une validation expérimentale démontrant des pertes en commutation réduites
The french industrial project MEGaN targets the development of power module based on GaN HEMT transistors. One of the industrial applications is the aeronautics field with a high-constraint on the galvanic isolation (>100 kV/s) and ambient temperature (200°C). The intent of this work is the power module block (3 phases inverter 650 V 30 A). The goal is to obtain a small footprint module, 30 cm2, with necessary functions such as gate driver, gate driver power supply, bulk capacitor and current phase sensor. This goal implies high efficiency as well as respect of the constraint of galvanic isolation with an optimized volume. This dissertation, besides the state of the art of power modules and especially the GaN HEMT ones, addressed a control signal isolation solution based on coreless transformers. Different prototypes based on coreless transformers were characterized and verified over 3000 hours in order to evaluate their robustness. The different studies realized the characterization of the different market available GaN HEMTs in order to mature a circuit simulation model for various converter topologies. In the collaborative work of the project, our contribution did not focus on the gate driver chip design even if experimental evaluation work was made, but a gate driver power supply strategy. The first gate driver isolated power supply design proposition focused on the low-voltage GaN HEMT conversion. The active-clamp Flyback topology allows to have the best trade-off between the GaN transistors and the isolation constraint of the transformer. Different transformer topolgies were experimentally performed and a novel PCB embedded transformer process was proposed with high-temperature capability. A lamination process was proposed for its cost-efficiency and for the reliability of the prototype (1000 H cycling test between - 55; + 200°C), with 88 % intrinsic efficiency. However, the transformer isolation capacitance was drastically reduced compared to the previous prototypes. 2 high-integrated gate driver power supply prototypes were designed with: GaN transistors (2.4 MHz, 2 W, 74 %, 6 cm2), and with a CMOS SOI dedicated chip (1.2 MHz, 2 W, 77 %, 8.5 cm2). In the last chapter, this dissertation presents an easily integrated solution for a phase current sensor based on the magnetoresistance component. The comparison between shunt resistor and magnetoresistance is experimentally performed. Finally, two inverter prototypes are presented, with one multi-level gate driver dedicated for GaN HEMT showing small switching loss performance

Neben der Verringerung von Verkehrsunfällen und Staus ist ein wichtiges Ziel der Verkehrspsychologie, die Luftverschmutzung durch den Verkehr zu reduzieren. Elektrofahrzeuge (BEVs) könnten die CO2-Emissionen deutlich reduzieren. Der weltweite BEV-Bestand nimmt zwar stetig zu, aber die Marktanteile in den meisten EU-Ländern lag 2016 dennoch nur bei rund 1% (International Energy Agency, 2016). Eine weitreichende Verbreitung von Elektrofahrzeugen birgt nicht nur Vorteile in sich, sondern kann auch zur Belastung der Stromnetze führen. ‚Intelligente Ladesysteme‘, die den Ladeprozess an die Netzbelastung und Nutzeranforderungen (z.B. Ladestand bei Abfahrtszeit) anpassen, gelten als vielversprechende Lösung. Vor dem Hintergrund der bisher geringen Verbreitung von Elektrofahrzeugen und der mit einem Erfolg der Elektromobilität steigenden Relevanz intelligenter Ladesysteme entsteht die Notwendigkeit psychologische Faktoren zu identifizieren, die die Evaluation und Akzeptanz von Komponenten des Elektromobilitätssystems beeinflussen. An dieser Stelle knüpft die vorliegende Dissertation an. Der (praktische) Erfahrungshorizont vieler Menschen in Bezug auf Elektrofahrzeuge und intelligente Ladesysteme ist sehr limitiert. Unerfahrene Nutzer solch neuer Systeme begegnen bisher unbekannten Herausforderungen in der Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion. Beispielsweise geht das elektrische Fahren, im Vergleich zum Fahren herkömmlicher Fahrzeuge, mit einer wesentlich niedrigeren Reichweite, einer geringeren Geräuschkulisse, neuen „Nachtankprozessen“ und Fahrfunktionen wie der Rekuperation (d.h. regeneratives Bremsen bei dem kinetische in elektrische Energie umgewandelt wird) einher. Dieses Thema wird ebenfalls in der vorliegenden Dissertation aufgegriffen. Das erste Forschungsziel fokussierte die allgemeine Bewertung und Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen sowie den Einfluss von praktischer Erfahrung. Im Rahmen einer Feldstudie mit zwei 6-monatigen Studienphasen (Artikel II), einer Onlinestudie (Studie I von Artikel III) sowie einer 24-Stunden Testfahrt (Studie II von Artikel III) wurde dieses Ziel untersucht. Für die verschiedenen Arten von Erfahrung (langzeitig mit gleichem Fahrzeug vs. unkontrolliert vs. kurzzeitig mit gleichem Fahrzeug) zeigten sich unterschiedliche Effekte auf die Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen, die detailliert diskutiert werden. Die Berichte der Feldstudienteilnehmer (langzeitige Erfahrung) zu Vor- und Nachteilen von Elektrofahrzeugen zeigten, dass sich die Salienz bestimmter Vor- und Nachteile über die Nutzungszeit hinweg ändert. Vor allem die Vorteile, die beim Alltagstest direkt erlebt werden können (z.B. das angenehme Fahrgefühl, die geringe Geräuschkulisse), waren in ihrer Salienz gestiegen. Es gibt erlebbare Barrieren, wie die Ladedauer, die innerhalb der Feldstudie an Prägnanz verloren, aber auch andere, wie die Reichweite, die in ihrer Bedeutsamkeit konstant blieben. Die Vorher-Nachher-Studien (Artikel II & Studie II von Artikel III) zeigten, dass die Erwartungen der Tester an solch ein Fahrzeug im Alltagstest insgesamt erfüllt werden und die Einstellung gegenüber Elektrofahrzeugen positiv bleibt. Im Rahmen der 24-Stunden-Testfahrt (kurzzeitige Erfahrung) zeigte sich zudem ein Anstieg in der Zufriedenheit mit Elektrofahrzeugen. Dem gegenüber stehen die geringen Kaufabsichten der Befragten. Der Alltagstest mit einem Elektrofahrzeug, egal ob kurz- oder langzeitig, zeigte keine Effekte auf die Kaufintention. Allerdings wiesen die Ergebnisse der Onlinebefragung darauf hin, dass Personen, die bereits ein Elektrofahrzeug gefahren sind, gegenüber dem Kauf eines Elektrofahrzeugs nicht so stark abgeneigt sind wie Unerfahrene, aber dennoch keine klare Intention zeigen. Das zweite Forschungsziel bestand in der Untersuchung wie praktische Erfahrung mit dem Nutzerverhalten und der Evaluation bezüglich der Elektrofahrzeugcharakteristika zusammenspielt. Am Beispiel der Rekuperation wurde untersucht wie sich die Menschen im Rahmen einer 6-monatigen Feldstudie an solch eine Funktion gewöhnen, ihre Nutzung erlernen und ob sich dies in der Bewertung der Funktion widerspiegelt (Artikel I). Die Ergebnisse aus den Fahrzeugdaten weisen darauf hin, dass die Adaption an diese Funktion recht zügig abgeschlossen ist und dem Power Law of Practice (Newell & Rosenbloom, 1981) folgt. Die Rekuperationsfunktion wird durch die Nutzer positiv bewertet und die Zufriedenheit mit der Rekuperation steigt mit der Nutzungszeit. In zwei weiteren Studien wurde die Bewertung von Elektrofahrzeugcharakteristika zwischen Elektrofahrzeug-Erfahrenen und –Unerfahrenen verglichen. In der Onlinestudie (Studie I in Artikel III) mit dem unkontrollierten Erfahrungsfaktor zeigten sich kaum Unterschiede. Lediglich ‚Reichweite und Laden‘ bewerteten die Erfahrenen positiver. Kontrollierte, kurzfristige Erfahrung (Studie II in Artikel III) führte zu einer positiveren Bewertung von Beschleunigung und Fahrspaß, Geräuschlosigkeit, Sicherheit und Reliabilität, Umweltfreundlichkeit sowie des Rufs von Elektrofahrzeugen. Die Bewertung von Reichweite und Laden blieb unverändert. Das dritte, übergeordnete Ziel dieser Dissertation bestand darin, akzeptanzbeeinflussende Faktoren zu identifizieren, die als Ansatzpunkte für zukünftige Weiterentwicklungen und Strategien zur Erhöhung der Akzeptanz genutzt werden können. Dazu wurde das Potential der Bewertung verschiedener Elektrofahrzeugattribute, der Faktoren der Theorie des geplanten Verhaltens (Ajzen, 1991) sowie der Erfahrung mit Elektrofahrzeugen zur Vorhersage der Akzeptanz im Rahmen der beiden Studien in Artikel III untersucht. Der soziale Faktor (subjektive Norm) und die Bewertung von ‚Reichweite und Laden‘ wirkten sich am stärksten auf die Vorhersage von Einstellungs- und Verhaltensakzeptanz aus. In der Onlinestudie mit between-subjekt Design, zeigte sich zudem ein starker Erfahrungseffekt auf die Kaufabsicht. Zudem erwies sich auch der Faktor ‚Beschleunigung und Fahrspaß‘ als relevante Größe für die Akzeptanz. Vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Entwicklungen, im Detail den sinkenden Batteriekosten und damit günstiger werdenden Reichweiteressourcen, eröffnen die Ergebnisse Ansatzpunkte, um die Akzeptanz zu steigern. Die Bewertung der Performanz und das angenehme Fahrgefühl beim elektrischen Fragen weisen einen nicht zu vernachlässigbaren Einfluss auf die Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen auf und konnten durch ein kurzzeitiges Erfahrungserlebnis positiv beeinflusst werden. Das letzte Forschungsziel dieser Dissertation fokussierte das intelligente Laden. Die Ergebnisse der 5-monatigen Feldstudie (Artikel IV) zeigten, dass ein intelligentes Ladesystem (mit aktiver Nutzerbeteiligung) nutzbar und akzeptabel ist. Allerdings zeigten die Ergebnisse auch, dass eine positive Kosten-Nutzen-Bilanz für die Nutzer von hoher Relevanz ist. Der zusätzliche Aufwand beim Laden erwies sich als signifikant höher und die finanziellen Anreize durch die Nutzung des Systems als niedriger als erwartet. Zudem fühlten sich die Nutzer durch das System zusätzlich in ihrer Mobilität eingeschränkt. Demnach sollten zukünftige, intelligente Ladesysteme sorgfältig gestaltet werden, so dass der Aufwand und die Reduzierung von Flexibilität und Mobilität nicht so hoch sind, dass die Barriere "Reichweite und Laden" für die Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen erhöht wird. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen wurden verschiedene Implikationen abgeleitet. Die Weiterentwicklung des Elektromobilitätssystems sollte sich darauf konzentrieren, die Barrieren bezüglich Reichweite und Laden zu reduzieren sowie die positiven Aspekte des elektrischen Fahrens zu vermitteln. Zudem sollten zukünftige Akzeptanzmodelle, vor allem für bisher eher unbekannte Objekte oder Technologien, einen Erfahrungsfaktor und die Bewertung verschiedener, objekt-/technologie-spezifischer Attribute enthalten, da dadurch wichtige Aspekte zur Verbesserung des Forschungsobjektes identifiziert werden können. Die Ergebnisse zeigten außerdem, dass der soziale Einfluss in zukünftigen Strategien zur Akzeptanzförderung von Elektrofahrzeugen adressiert werden sollte und eine Testfahrt mit einem Elektrofahrzeug, das dem aktuellen Entwicklungsstand entspricht, ein strategisches Werkzeug zur Akzeptanzsteigerung darstellt.

Esta pesquisa tem como objeto o estudo da dinâmica interna dos territórios periféricos pela análise da micromobilidade relacionada à implantação de infraestrutura de transporte de âmbito regional. O trabalho pretende demonstrar as qualidades das redes e malhas de micromobilidade como fonte informativa das dinâmicas socioespaciais contidas no território informal e como componente de qualifi cação urbana, trazendo para o projeto metropolitano dados cruciais sobre o seu funcionamento interno e as potencialidades de articulação com as escalas de mobilidade maiores. Ao considerar a malha de mobilidade como rede espacial, com densidade própria e capacidade de impregnação no território, nos interessa vislumbrá-la como ferramenta física de composição urbana, capaz tanto de dar acesso e de gerar polaridade, de construir as redes de proximidade, e de fomentar o sentimento de identidade pelos seus usuários. A pesquisa aborda aspectos contemporâneos das transformações na periferia metropolitana no contexto do distrito do Jardim Ângela em São Paulo ao identifi car as especifi cidades próprias deste local em diferentes escalas.
The research studies the internal dynamics of suburban territories through the analysis of micromobility related to the implementation of regional transport infrastructure. This paper aims at demonstrating the values of micromobility networks as an informative source of the sociospatial dynamics contained in the informal territory and as a component of urban qualifi cation. These networks bring crucial data to the metropolitan planning about its internal functioning and the potentialities of articulation with larger scales of mobility. Mobility as a spatial network, with its own density and impregnation capacity in the territory, becomes a physical tool of urban composition, giving access and generating polarity to build proximity networks and to foster the sense of identity by its users. The research deals with contemporary aspects of the ongoing transformations in suburban district Jardim Ângela in São Paulo, identifying the specifi c characteristics of this area at diff erent scales.

AbstractInternationalization as a concept and strategic agenda is a relatively new, broad, and varied phenomenon in tertiary education, driven by a dynamic combination of political, economic, sociocultural, and academic rationales and stakeholders. Its impact on regions, countries, and institutions varies according to their particular contexts. Mobility, also known as “internationalization abroad,” is the most referred to activity in internationalization and takes in itself a great variety of forms. Curriculum and global professional and citizenship development, also referred to as “internationalization at home,” is the other key component of internationalization. It receives increased attention, but still less than mobility.

Diagnostics of the components of professional mobility is presented in the form of a set of methods aimed at measuring individual qualities of the personality of cadets of a military university. The selection of diagnostics was made in accordance with the structure of professional mobility, which includes the personal and social components of professional mobility. Each component is measured by an individual number of criteria, indicators and diagnostics. The aggregate indicator for each diagnosis makes it possible to assess the state of each component of military-professional mobility as a whole. The group of respondents included 1st and 4th year students of three military universities in Russia. The number of cadets surveyed was more than 600 people. The complex of the proposed methodological techniques and diagnostics makes it possible to make a qualitative analysis of the level of formation of military-professional mobility of cadets of a military higher educational institution.

Laser and electron-beam powder bed fusion (PBF) additive manufacturing (AM) technology has transitioned from prototypes and tooling to production components in demanding fields such as medicine and aerospace. Some of these components have geometries that can only be made using AM. Initial applications either take advantage of the relatively high surface roughness of metal PBF parts, or they are in fatigue, corrosion, or flow environments where surface roughness does not impose performance penalties. To move to the next levels of performance, the surfaces of laser and electron-beam PBF components will need to be smoother than the current as-printed surfaces. This will also have to be achieve on increasingly more complex geometries without significantly increasing the cost of the final component. Unsettled Topics on Surface Finishing of Metallic Powder Bed Fusion Parts in the Mobility Industry addresses the challenges and opportunities of this technology, and what remains to be agreed upon by the industry.

Currently, Asian countries have gained relevance in attracting human resources. In Japan, the main component influencing the dynamics of international migration flows is the transnational labor market for skilled human resources, as well as the mechanisms that shape it. The aim of this paper is to describe the socioeconomic factors that shape, drive and contextualize the mobility of skilled workers.

Urban transportation is on the one hand a vital component of a city and on the other a major factor of concern. The latter is due to the high impact on air pollution, carbon dioxide emissions, and fatalities. This is not just caused by the mobility of people but also, and increasingly, by the need to transport goods. Cities in Central Asia are often associated with strong air pollution and rising greenhouse gas emissions from urban transport contradicting the global strive for a carbon-neutral world by 2050. In the light of sustainable development, it is, therefore, the objective to reduce the externalities of urban mobility and urban logistics jointly. The German-Kazakh University in Almaty envisions fostering the transformation to sustainability in Central Asia by setting up a climate center. One pillar will be urban transport. In this working paper, an interdisciplinary team of experts from Kazakhstan and Germany investigates fields of action and research for this center. The team describes stakeholders to involve, potential funding opportunities, and first actions for each of the identified fields. The working paper provides a fruitful basis for academics and partners to set up the center and to involve new partners.

An analysis of the experience of professional training bachelors of electromechanics in Ukraine and abroad made it possible to determine that one of the leading trends in its modernization is the synergistic integration of various engineering branches (mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering and automation) in mechatronics for the purpose of design, manufacture, operation and maintenance electromechanical equipment. Teaching mechatronics provides for the meaningful integration of various disciplines of professional and practical training bachelors of electromechanics based on the concept of modeling and technological integration of various organizational forms and teaching methods based on the concept of mobility. Within this approach, the leading learning tools of bachelors of electromechanics are mobile Internet devices (MID) – a multimedia mobile devices that provide wireless access to information and communication Internet services for collecting, organizing, storing, processing, transmitting, presenting all kinds of messages and data. The authors reveals the main possibilities of using MID in learning to ensure equal access to education, personalized learning, instant feedback and evaluating learning outcomes, mobile learning, productive use of time spent in classrooms, creating mobile learning communities, support situated learning, development of continuous seamless learning, ensuring the gap between formal and informal learning, minimize educational disruption in conflict and disaster areas, assist learners with disabilities, improve the quality of the communication and the management of institution, and maximize the cost-efficiency. Bachelor of electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects is a personal and vocational ability, which includes a system of knowledge, skills, experience in learning and research activities on modeling mechatronic systems and a positive value attitude towards it; bachelor of electromechanics should be ready and able to use methods and software/hardware modeling tools for processes analyzes, systems synthesis, evaluating their reliability and effectiveness for solving practical problems in professional field. The competency structure of the bachelor of electromechanics in the modeling of technical objects is reflected in three groups of competencies: general scientific, general professional and specialized professional. The implementation of the technique of using MID in learning bachelors of electromechanics in modeling of technical objects is the appropriate methodic of using, the component of which is partial methods for using MID in the formation of the general scientific component of the bachelor of electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects, are disclosed by example academic disciplines “Higher mathematics”, “Computers and programming”, “Engineering mechanics”, “Electrical machines”. The leading tools of formation of the general scientific component of bachelor in electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects are augmented reality mobile tools (to visualize the objects’ structure and modeling results), mobile computer mathematical systems (universal tools used at all stages of modeling learning), cloud based spreadsheets (as modeling tools) and text editors (to make the program description of model), mobile computer-aided design systems (to create and view the physical properties of models of technical objects) and mobile communication tools (to organize a joint activity in modeling).

The dynamic state of the land surface presents challenges and opportunities for military and civil operations in extreme cold environments. In particular, the effects of snow and frozen ground on Soldier and vehicle mobility are hard to overstate. Current authoritative weather and land models are run at global scales (i.e., dx > 10 km) and are of limited use at the Soldier scale (dx < 100 m). Here, we describe several snow physics upgrades made to the Noah-Multiparameterization (Noah-MP) community land surface model (LSM). These upgrades include a blowing snow overlay to simulate the lateral redistribution of snow by the wind and the addition of new prognostic snow microstructure variables, namely grain size and bond radius. These additions represent major upgrades to the snow component of the Noah-MP LSM because they incorporate processes and methods used in more specialized snow modeling frameworks. These upgrades are demonstrated in idealized and real-world applications. The test simulations were promising and show that the newly added snow physics replicate observed behavior with reasonable accuracy. We hope these upgrades facilitate ongoing and future research on characterizing the effects of the integrated snow and soil land surface in extreme cold environments at the tactical scale.

Advanced air mobility (AAM) is a nascent market within the aviation sector of Illinois’ transportation system, promising enhanced movement of people and cargo to previously inaccessible or underserved locations. This project addresses AAM’s prospects and impacts in the state. The research encompasses several tasks, starting with an examination of the current and projected state of the AAM industry, including pertinent regulations, technology advancements, and key industry players. Task two involves identifying the potential scale, operational profiles, and safety considerations of AAM within Illinois. Task three addresses the diverse geographic and operational environments across the state, encompassing urban, suburban, rural, intra-regional, and inter-regional areas, as well as congested and uncongested airspace. Moreover, the project aims to explore how AAM may influence Illinois’ overall transportation system, including surface and aviation components. The surface transportation system aspect involves investigating potential vehicular traffic impacts, shifts, and reductions, while the aviation system aspect includes assessing the interaction with unmanned aircraft systems, helicopters, and low-level traffic as well as airport access and routing considerations. Enabling infrastructure and facility requirements, such as communication, surface transportation access, landing facilities, power and fuel availability, and utilities, are identified in task five. Subsequently, state-level policy and regulatory recommendations, aligned with federal and state statutes, are developed in task six, considering the Illinois Aviation System Plan. Last, the research provides a high-level assessment of potential impacts, encompassing economic, social, and environmental aspects. The project’s outcomes are expected to enhance Illinois Department of Transportation’s preparedness for AAM implementation, contributing to the progressive integration of this transformative aviation technology within the state’s transportation landscape.
