The recent large-scale field investigations show that the ethnic and language situation in China is much more complex than it seemed before the end of the 1970s, and China remains one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse countries in the world. However, many languages of various ethnic groups and many Chinese dialects, both known in the past or recently discovered, are spoken by no more than a few members of the older generation. Among the most important tasks, set for the linguistic community by the Chinese authorities, is the investigation and preservation on electronic carriers of numerous languages of the peoples of China, any Chinese dialects and the samples of local cultures. The data collected in 2015-2019 within a large-scale “Program for the preservation of Chinese language resources” is represented in numerous publications devoted in particular to the endangered languages of China and on a unique online platform accessible for the linguists and partially for any Internet users. The next stage of the field studies of the language and local cultural heritage of China was officially initiated in 2020.

The population of China consists of 56 officially recognised ethnic groups, which speak (depending on the criteria used) from 135 to nearly 300 languages. About 90% of the population declare themselves as belonging to the Han-Chinese nationality. The language spoken by this majority is by no means uniform, the varieties of Chinese are so diversified, that most of them are mutually unintelligible, and some linguists even call them separate languages. The remaining 10% speak languages that are classified into five language families. Is it possible to introduce one common language in a country with the largest population on Earth? China has been carrying out such a language policy since the 1950s. The goal is to spread the national standard – Mandarin, or Putonghua, all over the country, so that all inhabitants could communicate freely. This idealistic work is already very advanced and it has caused vast changes in the linguistic landscape of China. Not all the rights of minority languages declared in the constitution are respected. Also the non-Mandarin varieties of Chinese are subject to unification and noticeable changes are ongoing in the local tongues. This paper shows the various aspects of Chinese language policy, the positive and negative effects it has on the languages spoken in China.

Abstract A question which is frequently asked in discussions about the future roles of English and Chinese (Modern Standard Chinese or Putonghua and often also referred to as Mandarin) in the Asia-Pacific region is whether Chinese will replace English as the primary regional language or lingua franca. In this article, I shall first consider the roles that each language is playing in China itself and within the Asia-Pacific region. I shall argue that it is important to take these languages together, as the combination of Modern Standard Chinese and English is threatening regional languages, including other major Chinese languages such as Cantonese. In dealing with these two major languages in combination, I shall also consider how each language has influenced and continues to influence the other linguistically, illustrating this with examples at the levels of lexis, syntax, rhetoric and pragmatic norms. I shall conclude by tentatively suggesting how the roles of these two languages may develop in future, and the potential sociolinguistic consequences of this.

Background and Aims: This article analyzes the development process of Chinese education in Thailand and compares its different characteristics regarding Chinese cultural inheritance and language dissemination with other Southeast Asian countries. It is believed that the integration of Buddhist and Confucian cultures between China and Thailand, as well as Thailand's harmonious and inclusive ethnic policies and cultural environment, are the main reasons for the steady development of Chinese education in Thailand. In the language and cultural integration process between China and Thailand, there has also been a certain degree of excessive and cross-border integration. "Moderate integration" and "excessive integration" constitute the characteristics of Thai Chinese language education, and their dual characteristics jointly influence the progress of Thai Chinese language education. Methodology: Using the literature research method and induction by looking at the literature to summarize the viewpoints proposed by relevant scholars. Conduct an extensive review of existing literature on language education, focusing on Chinese and Thai languages and cultures. Analyze academic papers, textbooks, and relevant educational materials to identify effective strategies for language integration. Evaluate existing Chinese language education curricula and materials in both China and Thailand. Identify commonalities and differences, and explore ways to integrate elements that reflect both Chinese and Thai cultures. Results: The vigorous development of Thai Chinese education is closely related to integrating Chinese, Thai Buddhist, and Confucian cultures, as well as Thailand's harmonious and inclusive ethnic policies and cultural environment. This is a positive manifestation of Thai-Chinese education's "moderate integration" and a proper interpretation of Thai-Chinese education under the premise of integration. However, there has also been a certain degree of excessive and cross-border integration of language and culture between China and Thailand, resulting in negative impacts such as Chinese language variation, structural imbalance in teaching systems, and a lack of competitive environment for the Chinese language. Conclusion: The sorting out of the joint representation of "moderate integration" and "excessive integration" in Thai Chinese education reflects and abandons the survival mode and cultural landscape inherited and condensed by Thai Chinese education over a long period in the historical evolution.

The conceptual framework of this paper is to view Mongolia as a ‘contact zone’ which geographically bridged the gap between two rapidly growing Eurasian empires—Russia and China. It allows a rethinking of the historical and social circumstances that led to the formation of Chinese Pidgin Russian (cpr)1 by highlighting the lexical and grammatical influence of the Mongolian language on contact languages in the China–Russia border area. In particular, it discusses Mongolian language in various encounters in Russian–Chinese interactions, such as the use of Mongolian as mediation language during the initial stage of Qing–Russian diplomatic relations and aslingua francain caravan trade and border relations between Russia and China, as well as its influence on the formation of Transbaikal dialect (orZabaikal’skoe narechie), which was widely spoken by Russians in Mongol-speaking colonial frontiers of Russia in Eastern Siberia. Moreover, the paper highlights the Mongolian elements in the firstcpr, questioning a common scholarly perception that Kiakhta (or Maimacheng)2 pidgin consisted primarily of Russian and Chinese borrowings. Therefore, unique language hybridisation of these three languages continues to be noticeable in Russia–China trade hubs in Inner Mongolia nowadays, where transborder ethnic and economic contacts between Russia, China and Mongolia are becoming more complicated and diverse.

The artice is devoted to the problem of preserving the Cantonese dialect (language) in modern China, where for several decades the government persistently pursued a policy of disseminating of the nation-wide Chinese language (“pǔtōnghuà”). Cantonese is the largest language by speakers among all Chinese languages and it is native to most residents of Guangdong and Hong Kong, however, unlike the languages of the national minorities of China, it is not fully protected by law and is consistently ousted from the education system and out of business communication. In the article the authors carefully analyze the linguistic history of China, the role of dialects in the system of Chinese languages and the historical and political significance of a single written norm. According to the authors, the division of China into two large cultural and historical communities (northern and southern) corresponds to the established linguistic division, but unlike many other countries in the world, the ethnolinguistic and ethnocultural differences between the northern and southern Chinese due to the centuries-old unifying efforts of the central government do not lead to the division of the Chinese nation. The article examines in detail the history of Cantonese, a linguistic analysis of the differences between Cantonese and Putonghua, and on this basis concludes that Cantonese should be considered not as a dialect of Chinese, but rather as a separate language of the Sino-Tibetan language group, albeit closely related to the Chinese language. Analyzing the role of Cantonese in the formation of a special cultural and historical community in Guangdong and Hong Kong, the authors conclude that the declining of the Cantonese dialect (language) will probably occur over the next several decades, unless the language and education policies of the Chinese government are changed. Otherwise this tendency will lead to the loss of the province's identity, which is part of the intangible cultural heritage of the entire Chinese nation.

In his short list of predictions for the future of English, written in 2006, David Graddol wrote that ‘Asia may determine the future of global English’ (2006: 15). India and China especially, he suggested, were likely to be the major influences on how the concept of English as a global language would develop. As Asian economies grew, so did their political status, potentially offering a different model for the global ecology of languages. Nearly two decades on, we are beginning to see notable shifts in the way English is perceived in different parts of the world. As a variety in an Expanding Circle country (Kachru, 1985), English in China has conventionally been seen as a foreign or international language, and the concept of an indigenized variety has received less discussion than it has in Outer Circle countries. But with shifts in geopolitics, the conventional rationales for naming practices around English in China may no longer be applicable. The discussion below is centred, therefore, around the issue of what might be a better term to capture the contemporary reality of English use, and attitudes to this use, in China; and on how an emergent variety, associated with the term China English, is becoming a more and more accepted part of linguistic culture in Chinese society.

In the context of China’s implementation of Belt and Road Initiative, the development of LOTE (languages other than English) in China comes into a revitalization era. LOTE play important role acting as a bridge linking China to the other countries. Since 2009, Yunnan has been discursively constructed as a bridgehead for China to cooperate with Southeast Asian country and the education of LOTE with a particular focus on the Southeast Asian languages has experienced an unprecedented expansion size. This study explores the learning experiences of Chinese postgraduates majoring in Myanmar language in a Chinese border university in Yunnan. Findings reveal how Chinese students perceive the values of learning Myanmar language, what learning challenges they encounter and how they exert their agency to overcome their learning difficulties. The study reveals that Chinese students’ investment in learning Myanmar has been shaped by their access to various resources mediated in multiple social forces across time and space. The study can shed some lights on providing pedagogical implications for enhancing the learning outcomes of LOTE in China.

This thesis provides a historical review of the theoretical and practical influence of Protestant missionaries on the late Qing Chinese language reformers. The origins of the language reform movement have always been concealed in historical records. The missionaries’ contribution to this movement has almost entirely been forgotten. With a focus on the key figures in the language reform movement, including W.A. P. Martin, John Macgowan, Joseph Edkins, Lu Zhuangzhang, and Wang Bingyao, this thesis attempts to demonstrate the similarities between the missionaries’ views on the Chinese language and those of their Chinese assistants. The Chinese reformers’ imitations of the missionaries’ language experiments are also outlined. In the historical context of late Qing China, the Chinese reformers made language reform a way of enhancing the national strength of China. Thus, they made modifications to the original Romanized system and invented their own written forms of phonetic characters. With reference to the collaborations between China and the West, the thesis emphasizes Western influence as one of the crucial aspects of the origin of the language reform movement in China. This movement is still ongoing today with the widespread use of the pinyin input method in computers and smartphones. The thesis is divided into two chapters, analysing both the theoretical and the practical dimensions of language reform. It demonstrates how the missionaries’ critique of the perceived defects of the Chinese language and their practice of changing the linguistic situation in China strongly affected the views and practice of the Chinese reformers. It also offers a critical analysis of the Chinese reformers’ rationale, including their eagerness to advance the modernity of China. The first chapter discusses their views on the defects of the Chinese language in terms of its ideographic features, chaotic grammatical structure, and the discrepancy between speech and writing; it examines how their statements, proposals, and debates on these issues amounted to a discursive formation that defined the classical Chinese language as an inadequate instrument for China’s modernization project. I argue that the Chinese reformers accepted the missionaries’ phonocentric critique of the Chinese language and recognized the need to reform it in order to revitalize Chinese civilization. Through an examination of the genealogy of the missionaries’ influence on the practice of the early Chinese language reformers, particularly Lu Zhuangzhang and Wang Bingyao, I argue in the second chapter that the early stage of language reform in China sought its embodiment in the missionaries’ language practice: it was carried out through a combination of defence, argument, and negotiation between the Chinese reformers and the missionaries, eventually resulting in a compromise between reforming the language and preserving the cultural essence of China. With the knowledge and institutions that had been produced, the reformers’ final objective was to increase the literacy rate of the Chinese population, as this would thus strengthen the power of China as a modern nation-state. Finally, by revisiting the historical contribution of the late Qing language reformers, I argue that language reform in China is an unfinished project.

English has become the global language -it is used more and is more widespread than any other language has ever been. At the same time we are faced with large-scale language endangerment which could result in the extinction of half or more of the world's languages. While not the only reason for language endangerment, the status of English as the global language has important consequences for all other languages and therefore deserves to be studied carefully. However, exactly what English means for other languages and cultures is far from simple and there is no general agreement on this issue. English has been seen as a destructive language, a pluralistic language and as an irrelevant language. This thesis explores the issue of global English as it applies to China. English language learning and teaching has been, and by all indications will continue to be, an important part of China's reform and modernisation. China is also an ethnically and linguistically diverse country with 55 minority nationalities and over 80 languages. What does the spread of English mean for China's language situation? Drawing on data gained through fieldwork and published sources, I argue that English in China is multifaceted, that is it has destructive, pluralistic and irrelevant elements. English is now used more and has higher status in China than at any time in the past and this has raised some concerns. However, English is not displacing Chinese language or culture. English is actually taking on Chinese features in both form and function. The Chinese language, far from being threatened, is currently expanding both in China and the world at large. Much effort has gone into promoting putonghua and there is great interest in learning Chinese in many parts of the world. China's minority languages, like those elsewhere, are under varying degrees of threat. However, English is not the main reason for this situation. At the present time at least it has relatively little presence in minority areas. Despite the fact that it is not destroying China's languages and cultures, English remains a significant issue for China and must be dealt with thoughtfully and carefully, especially among the minority nationalities. I argue that it is possible for China to acquire English without losing its linguistic diversity. Whether this can be achieved is a question of the resources and political will required to do so rather than any inherent difficulty with speaking two or more languages. To this end, the Context Approach is put forward as a possible way to improve English language teaching and learning among the minorities. In light of the results of this study, I suggest new directions for research, both on language issues in China and in general. I also argue for a new approach to our study of English as a global language and language endangerment. We need to appreciate the complexities of English on a local level as well as a global level and focus our attention more on how English can be taught to speakers of endangered languages in such a way that does not lead to language loss.

在國際文憑課程教學領域內,有關漢語A文學教學的研究剛剛起步。本研究探討中學項目九年級學生在文學教學過程中,初學文學評論的表現以及相關策略的運用。本研究以一所國際文憑組織成員學校中學項目九年級的學生為對象,通過問卷調查和小說單元的欣賞教學實驗及研究分析,發現: 1. 學生普遍具有閱讀文學作品的興趣,具備評價文學作品的意識。2. 文學教學促使一些學生突破以往閱讀思維的局限,視野更為開闊,更多關注作品所傳遞的更為豐富的文化信息以及作者駕馭作品的方式與技巧。3. 中文水準較弱和普通的一些學生,在文學評論的組織與表達方面尚有明顯不足。中文水準優秀的學生已經熟練掌握文學評論的寫作方法和技巧,能自如地聯係課外閱讀經驗,對不同作家作品進行比較、分析。據此結果,現時中學項目的漢語文學教學應該拓展閱讀面,增加知識積累,加強文學評論的寫作指引和訓練,為大學預科項目的文學學習做好銜接準備。 Little scholarship has been done regarding the teaching of “Language A Chinese" from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The present study focuses on the topic of Chinese Language A teaching to Grade 9 students, in particular, who are in the fourth year of MYP Language A. The study looks at student progress as they undertake this course as well as appropriate teaching strategies to maximize success. Drawing on Grade 9 students survey data from an IBO World School as well as the reseacher’s practical classroom experience, the major findings of this study are as follows: 1. Students are interested in reading literary works and enjoy evaluating literature. 2. The teaching of literature has prompted some students to pay more attention to cultural aspects of readings and has opened their mind to new ideas. 3. Lower- achieving Chinese Language students continue to have difficulties understanding the organization and expression of the literature commentary. In contrast, higher- achieving students have shown the ability to not only comprehend deeper organization and meaning in the literature, but they are also able to identify writing methods, and compare and analyze the work of different writers. Given the study findings, it is recommended that more MYP Chinese literature teaching should be focused on reading and writing in order to increase student knowledge and awareness, but also to strengthen their ability to succeed in the next stages of their schooling.

Анотація:
Over the last decade, a significant number of overseas Chinese including Hong Kong emigrants have returned to Hong Kong. Many returnees, especially those who learnt Chinese as a heritage language, often encounter various language difficulties upon their return mainly due to their incompletely acquired version of the Chinese language. However, there is little research on the Chinese language learning and teaching for this special community, which is inherently different from native Chinese learners or second-language learners. This work explores various pioneering ways to develop returnees’ greater fluency in the Chinese language and especially to improve their practical literacy skills. We intend to evaluate and further develop their awareness of the orthographic principles operating in Chinese characters. We believe that this is a key step to help Chinese returnees quickly integrate themselves to the local society.

In this process, different cultures also blend and collide with each other. China's traditional culture has experienced thousands of years of development, in the new era today has also ushered in a new hope of development. The inheritance of traditional culture mainly depends on three ways, namely: literature, traditional customs and traditional festivals. Specifically, traditional culture relies more on literary forms to inherit and develop. Therefore, the major of Chinese language and literature bears the responsibility of inheriting traditional culture and is also an important part of promoting the development of traditional culture. Chinese language and literature gather the wisdom of ancient, modern, modern and contemporary literati. In the process of learning Chinese language and literature, we can understand the customs and culture. Therefore, this paper takes Chinese language and literature as the entry point to study the function of inheriting traditional culture in Chinese language and literature.

It is difficult not to mention language reform when referring to Chinese literature modernization between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Language played a critical role in facilitating the escape of Chinese literature from Chinese medieval literary works in order to integrate into world literature. The language reform not only laid a foundation for modern literature but also contributed considerably to the grand social transformation of China in the early days of the 20th century. Chinese new-born literature was a literature created by spoken language; in Chinese terms, it was considered as a literature focusing on “dialectal speech” instead of “classical Chinese” used in the past. In international terms, it can be named as living language literature which was used to replace classic literary language in ancient books – a kind of dead language. This article will analyze how language reform impacted Chinese modern literature at the beginning of the 20th century.

The paper involves archival materials, scientific literature and the information system of the Beijing Lu Xun Museum to examine the history of the preparation and circumstances of the publication of the first collection of translations of modern Chinese prose into Russian — Truthful Biography. Novellas and Stories of Modern China published by the Molodaya gvardiya Publishing House in 1929. The author concludes that the publication of the collection Truthful Biography was a logical result of the attention of the Soviet Union to the China engulfed by the revolution. Shortcomings in the translation of literary texts reflect not only the insufficient level of Chinese language proficiency among some translators, but also the lack of traditions and norms of translation of modern Chinese literature in the Soviet Union in the late 1920s. Nevertheless, the collection Truthful Biography. Novellas and Stories of Modern China can be considered a starting point in the translation of modern Chinese literature into Russian and the beginning of the involvement of specialists in modern China in the Soviet Union in the study of Chinese literature. en_GB

Анотація:
This paper discusses the corpus-based English education and translation of ancient Chinese terminology. China has a long history of language and culture. The recorded history of Chinese ancient characters dates back to Banpo Times about 6000 years ago. Based on statistical data from the largest academic corpus in China (CNKI), we analyze the English translation of eight typical ancient Chinese terminologies in academic articles. The corpus-based results show that sometimes English translation is rough for these traditional terminologies by researchers, and there is no further mention of the potential meaning for these special words to avoid confusion.This undoubtedly prevents the greater spread of education of Chinese ancient terminologies. The conclusion suggests that the ancient Chinese characters have independent phonological, morphological, lexical semantic systems; a substantial corpus is effective to overcome the language barriers of translation; and it is necessary for researchers to receive both Chinese and English education for translation of ancient Chinese terminologies.

In this article, the author considers various aspects of teaching Chinese in Russia, and also specifies some factors that affect the successful mastery of the Chinese language, in particular, learning in a natural language environment as a part of student exchange programs, during which students study language material in class with native speaker and have the opportunity of extensive language practice outside the school. In addition, the author notes the importance of the sociocultural component in learning - familiarity with the traditions and holidays of China, thereby increasing students' interest in the culture of the country of the language being studied. The article also notes the difficulties that both students and the teacher encounter in the classroom at North-Eastern State University, caused by the fact that in the same group are both students who have undergone language training in China and those who have not yet had a chance to study there. This is manifested in different levels of language proficiency by students, primarily in the level of their oral speech skills. This situation affects the group's learning speed and requires the teacher, in turn, to have a differentiated approach to conducting classes. The author suggests maximizing the practice of students using the Chinese language - conducting classes in the language they are studying, stimulating them to communicate only in Chinese within the class, and also, if possible, beyond. The basis of this practice is proposed to put thematic-situational training, for example, within the framework of the topic “Shopping”, interactively consider situations “in a clothing store”, “in a mobile phone store”, etc. At the same time, the author notes that the same situations proposed in the educational literature are perceived differently by native speakers and students, since they are filled with realities characteristic of China and different from the usual realities of Russia. To familiarize students with similar sociocultural content, it is proposed to use multimedia teaching aids - video and graphic presentations.

China has long been a multi-ethnic and multicultural country, and currently has 56 ethnic groups speaking approximately 2300 dialects or sub-dialects. However, its multilingualism has long been controversial in academia, and whether multilingualism exists in the Chinese mainland remains unclear. Multilingualism may be observed in the Chinese mainland, with the promotion of Mandarin and English, and the maintenance of regional dialects in recent years. The current study aims to explore the multilingual practices in the Chinese mainland through a case study. The following questions are proposed: What are the features of multilingual practices in the Chinese Mainland? What are the factors contributing to language features in the Chinese Mainland? What type of multilingualism does the Chinese Mainland adhere to? Two-full-day recordings of the participant conversations were made in order to document language. In follow-up interviews, the participant was asked about his intentions to behave as multilingual. Results suggest that features of multilingual practices including interference, borrowing, mixing, and code-switching appear. Social, personal, and conversational factors contribute to the participant’s multilingual practices. The study takes individual multilingualism as a reflective example that also contributes to the interpretation of multilingualism in China.

Review question / Objective: Patients who meet the clinical diagnostic criteria of Gilles de la Tourette syndrome (DSM-IV/DSM-V) are included, regardless of race, sex, age, etc. Deep brain electrical stimulation for the treatment of Tourette's syndrome, with no limit on the specific procedure and duration of stimulation. Randomized controlled trials were selected, the language was limited to Chinese and English, and there were no restrictions on race, age, sex and so on. The main outcome indicators were the Yale Global tic severity scale score. Review question / Objective: Shoulder pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder prompting many patients to seek treatment. Thermotherapy is a common treatment for shoulder which has been widely used in hospitals. But its efficiency has not been scientifically and methodically evaluated. This protocol aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Thermotherapy for treating shoulder pain. Information sources: Eight databases will be searched from their inception to October 2021. They are as follows: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials.gov, China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI), Weipu Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals (VIP), Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and Wanfang Database. There will be no limitation to study publication status or language. Review question / Objective: How are the effects of art therapy on schizophrenia? Condition being studied: Schizophrenia is a chronic and severely disabling mental disorder that is associated with impairments in cognitive, emotional and psychosocial functioning affecting the prospect of recovery. (Jablensky, 2010; Leucht, 2014). Information sources: A comprehensive literature search will be carried out by two independent researchers (XX Luo and J Wang). Review question / Objective: To assess the effectiveness and safety of Er-xian Decoction in the treatment of primary ovarian insufficiency. Information sources: We will search the following electronic databases, including 3 English databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library) and 4 Chinese databases (China national knowledge infrastructure database, Wanfang database, Sinomed Database, and VIP database). The filters were English and Chinese language. The following key words in Title/Abstract or MeSH search headings are used: “Er-xian” and “Hormone replacement therapy” or “Femoston” or “Climen” and “Primary ovarian insufficiency” or “Ovarian failure” or “Premature ovarian failure” or “POI” and “random*” or “Randomized controlled trial”. In addition, we also search the grey literature such as conference proceedings and dissertations in CNKI and Wanfang database, and relevant trials will be searched in ClinicalTrial.gov database [20] and Chinese Clinical Trial Registry for unpublished trials and protocols. References of all included studies will be hand searched for additional eligible studies.

Review question / Objective: Population:Patients diagnosed as obesity with insulin resistance. Obesity reference: Consensus of experts on the Prevention and treatment of adult obesity in China in 2011 and Consensus of Chinese experts on medical nutrition therapy for overweight/obesity in 2016 were developed by the Obesity Group of Chinese Society of Endocrinology(CSE); BMI≥28. IR reference: According to the Expert opinions on insulin resistance evaluation published by Chinese Diabetes Society, HOMA-IR≥2.68 is regarded as the standard for the diagnosis of IR. Regardless of age, gender and course of disease. Patients diagnosed as obesity with insulin resistance. Intervention:Any kind of acupuncture, moxibustion, acupuncture+moxibustion, warm acupuncture, electropuncture, auricular point, acupoint application and acupoint catgut embedding. Comparison:Other acupuncture treatments, Drug therapy or blank control. Outcome:Primary outcomes: ①Fasting blood-glucose (FBG); ②Fasting serum insulin (FINS); ③Homeostasis model assessment-IR (HOMA-IR); ④Body Mass Index (BMI). Secondary outcomes: ①Waistline; ②Waist-hip ratio;③Triglyceride (TG); ④Total cholesterol (TC); ⑤High-density lipoprotein (HDL); ⑥Low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Study: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of different acupuncture methods in the treatment on obesity with insulin resistance, blind method and language are not limited. Review question / Objective: To identify the risk factors of deep venous thrombosis in patients with cerebral hemorrhage. Eligibility criteria: Inclusion criteria: ①Comply with the “Guidelines for diagnosis of cerebral hemorrhage in China”[7] or “Guidelines for the management of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage in the United States”[37], or be diagnosed as ICH in combination with brain CT, MRI, and cerebral angiography; ②Age ≥18 years old; ③Ultrasonography or color polygraph Pler ultrasonography confirmed DVT; ④ The study type was cohort study or case-control study; ⑤ Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) [8] score ≥ 6 points; ⑥ The language was limited to Chinese and English. Exclusion criteria: ① Repeated publications; ② Studies without full text, incomplete information, or data extraction impossible.

Review question / Objective: By 3 to 4 months of age, infants can keep their necks upright and look into both eyes horizontally. But infants with CMT have a wry neck also known as a twisted neck. Complementary therapies have been commonly used to treat CMT, such as tuina, acupuncture, herbal medicine. Among them, external application of herbal medicine is non-surgical and non-invasive inventions so it can be used widely in East Asia. This review aims to evaluate any form of external application of herbal medicines in CMT, such as cream, oil, extract, form of patch, etc. Information sources: We will electronically search the following database 4 English databases(MEDLINE, PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials), 3 Chinese databases(China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Chinese Scientific Journal Database(VIP), Wan Fang Database), 4 Korean medical databases(Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System(OASIS), Korean Studies Information Service System(KISS), National Digital Science Links(NDSL), Research Information Sharing Service(RISS)) from their founding date to June 2022, without any language restrictions.
