Background:The Observational and Medical Outcomes Partnerships (OMOP) common data model (CDM) provides a framework for standardising health data with a view towards federated analyses, thus maximising the use and power of combining disparate datasets. Objectives:To assess feasibility and usefulness of mapping biologic registry data from different European countries to the OMOP CDM and present initial descriptive data regarding comorbidities. Methods:Five biologic registries, as part of a funded FOREUM project, have been mapped to the OMOP CDM: 1) the Czech biologics register (ATTRA), 2) Registro Español de Acontecimientos Adversos de Terapias Biológicas en Enfermedades Reumáticas (BIOBADASER), 3) British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Register for Rheumatoid Arthritis (BSRBR-RA), 4) German biologics register ‘Rheumatoid arthritis observation of biologic therapy’ (RABBIT), and 5) Swiss register ‘Swiss Clinical Quality Management in Rheumatic Diseases’ (SCQM). The mapping includes socio-demographic, observation period within the studies, baseline comorbidities, and baseline medications. Only patients with RA were included. Using R, registers received identical scripts to run on their mapped databases to produce an initial description of patient characteristics without the need to share patient-level data. Results:A total of 54,458 individuals are included the five registries being mapped to the OMOP CDM, see table. Age and gender distribution was similar across registries. All registers reported on cardiovascular system comorbidities, diabetes mellitus, mental disorders, and respiratory system comorbidities. However, it was noted that results of comorbidity mapping relies on what each register collect on each patient at the point of registration.Whilst the Charlson comorbidity index could be calculated within each registry, due to lack of the specific coding needed, such as “uncomplicated diabetes mellitus” / “end-organ damage diabetes mellitus”, it was felt to be an inaccurate measure. The granularity of the comorbidities was insufficient, as many registers coded, for example, diabetes mellitus without any extra information.Table 1.OARSI scoresRegistryATTRABIOBADASERBSRBR-RARABBITSCQMCountryCzechiaSpainUnited KingdomGermanySwitzerlandNumber of Participants23343012251791365210281Gender FemaleMale1808 (77%)526 (23%)2372 (79%)640 (21%)18995 (75%)6184 (25%)10191 (75%)3461 (25%)7584 (74%)2697 (26%)Age at observation start date59 (52, 66)56 (47, 63)58 (49, 66)58 (50, 67)57 (47, 66)First observation start dateFeb-2002Oct-1999Oct-2001Aug-2006March-1995Number of comorbidities1 (1, 2)1 (0, 2)1 (0, 2)2 (1, 3)2 (1, 4)Disorder of cardiovascular system1609 (69%)208 (7%)2239 (9%)6330 (46%)3969 (39%)Diabetes mellitus331 (14%)273 (9%)1770 (7%)1591 (12%)792 (8%)Depressive Disorder165 (7%)04971 (20%)1023 (7%)1337 (13%)Disorder of respiratory system215 (9%)209 (7%)4125 (16%)1282 (9%)1630 (16%)Conclusion:This is the first analysis of data from the newly mapped OMOP CDM across five European registers. Through mapping the registers into a CDM, and using the same script, the ability to undertake collaborative analysis without sharing patient level data outside of the country can be realised. Due to differences in study design and data capture, there needs to be a focus on harmonising the coding and analysing of the comorbidities and drugs across registries.Disclosure of Interests:Lianne Kearsley-Fleet: None declared, Kimme Hyrich: None declared, Martin Schaefer: None declared, Doreen Huschek: None declared, Anja Strangfeld: None declared, Jakub Zavada Speakers bureau: Abbvie, Eli-Lilly, UCB, Sanofi., Consultant of: Abbvie, UCB, Sanofi, Gilead., Markéta Lagová: None declared, Delphine Courvoisier Speakers bureau: Medtalks Switzerland, Christoph Tellenbach: None declared, Kim Lauper Speakers bureau: Medtalks Switzerland, Carlos Sánchez-Piedra: None declared, Nuria Montero: None declared, Jesús-Tomás Sánchez-Costa: None declared, Daniel Prieto-Alhambra Consultant of: Amgen (speaker fees and advisory board membership fees paid to DPA’s department) and UCB (consultancy fees paid to DPA’s department), Grant/research support from: grants and other from AMGEN, grants, non-financial support and other from UCB Biopharma, grants from Les Laboratoires Servier, outside the submitted work., Edward Burn: None declared

Background:The Observational and Medical Outcomes Partnerships (OMOP) common data model (CDM) provides a framework for standardising health data. Objectives:To map national biologic registry data collected from different European countries to the OMOP CDM.Methods:Five biologic registries are currently being mapped to the OMOP CDM: 1) the Czech biologics register (ATTRA), 2) Registro Español de Acontecimientos Adversos de Terapias Biológicas en Enfermedades Reumáticas (BIOBADASER), 3) British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Register for Rheumatoid Arthritis (BSRBR-RA), 4) German biologics register ‘Rheumatoid arthritis observation of biologic therapy’ (RABBIT), and 5) Swiss register ’Swiss Clinical Quality Management in Rheumatic Diseases’ (SCQM).Data collected at baseline are being mapped first. Details that uniquely identify individuals are mapped to the person table, with the observation_period table defining the time a person may have had clinical events recorded. Baseline comorbidities are mapped to the condition_occurrence CDM table, while baseline medications are mapped to the drug_exposure CDM table. This mapping is summarised in Figure 1.Figure 1.Overview of initial mappingResults:A total of 64,901 individuals are included in the 5 registries being mapped to the OMOP CDM, see table 1. The number of unique baseline conditions being mapped range from 17 in BSRBR-RA to 108 in RABBIT, while the number of baseline medications range from 26 in ATTRA to 802 in BSRBR-RA. Those registries which captured more comorbidities or medications generally allowed for these to be inputted as free text.Table 1.Summary of initial code mappingRegistryNumber of individualsNumber of mapped baseline conditionsNumber of mapped baseline medicationsATTRA5,3262626BIOBADASER6,4963051BSRBR-RA21,69517802RABBIT13,06210878SCQM18,3222633Conclusion:Due to differences in study design and data capture, the baseline information captured on comorbidities and drugs across registries varies greatly. However, these data have been mapped and mapping biologic registry data to the OMOP CDM is feasible. The adoption of the OMOP CDM will facilitate collaboration across registries and allow for multi-database studies which include data from both biologic registries and other sources of health data which have been mapped to the CDM.Disclosure of Interests:Edward Burn: None declared, Lianne Kearsley-Fleet: None declared, Kimme Hyrich Grant/research support from: Pfizer, UCB, BMS, Speakers bureau: Abbvie, Martin Schaefer: None declared, Doreen Huschek: None declared, Anja Strangfeld Speakers bureau: AbbVie, BMS, Pfizer, Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, Jakub Zavada Speakers bureau: Abbvie, UCB, Sanofi, Elli-Lilly, Novartis, Zentiva, Accord, Markéta Lagová: None declared, Delphine Courvoisier: None declared, Christoph Tellenbach: None declared, Kim Lauper: None declared, Carlos Sánchez-Piedra: None declared, Nuria Montero: None declared, Jesús-Tomás Sanchez-Costa: None declared, Daniel Prieto-Alhambra Grant/research support from: Professor Prieto-Alhambra has received research Grants from AMGEN, UCB Biopharma and Les Laboratoires Servier, Consultant of: DPA’s department has received fees for consultancy services from UCB Biopharma, Speakers bureau: DPA’s department has received fees for speaker and advisory board membership services from Amgen

The purpose of this research was to probe beyond the scope of the “National Strategy Project on Carbon Mineralization” to develop a “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Clean Development Mechanism” (UNFCCC CDM) methodology that enables reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) by “green cement” under the calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) cement technologies. The findings will be utilized as the foundations and developed into the UNFCCC CDM project. There were two existing methodologies related to cement, but neither was applicable for CSA cement. The existing methodologies are applicable only when there is one clinker, but CSA cement utilizes more than one clinker. Through this research, we developed methodologies to use waste-based material for avoiding emission leakage and utilized more than one clinker to calculate GHG emissions and reduction. For this purpose, we utilized the CSA cement methodology for calculating GHG reduction compared to Portland cement and found that CSA cement allowed for a reduction of 0.281 tCO2-eq/ton above the reduction enabled by Portland cement. We are presently preparing to register the CSA cement methodology for UNFCCC CDM methodology approval. With the technology transfer and support for this CSA cement technology and methodology, developing countries will be able to achieve their national GHG reduction targets and gain carbon credits. Thus, CSA cement technology could serve as an important tool to deal with GHG emissions and climate change.

Background. Immune dysfunction can occur after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and surgery for cancer. We investigated whether preoperative oral carbohydrate affected the postoperative percentages of T cells (CD4+ and CD8+) and natural killer (NK) cells in patients with cervical cancer treated with NAC and surgery. Methods. This prospective cohort study enrolled consecutive patients with cervical cancer treated by radical hysterectomy with PLND at the Gynecologic Oncology Department of Fujian Provincial Cancer Hospital (China) between January 2018 and December 2018. Patients were divided into three groups according to the treatment method: NAC (two cycles, surgery 1 month later), NAC+CHO (chemotherapy and surgical methods same as with the NAC group but with 300 mL of oral carbohydrate administered 2 h before surgery), and non-NAC (surgery alone). Percentages of NK, CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ cells were evaluated by flow cytometry the day after the first admission, just before surgery, immediately after tracheal tube removal, and the day after surgery. This trial is registered with NCT03872635 at clinicaltrials.com. Results. The final analysis included 77 patients (non-NAC group, n=26; NAC group, n=25; and NAC-CHO group, n=26). Baseline characteristics and preoperative NK, CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ cell percentages were similar between groups. Postoperatively, all groups exhibited reductions in NK, CD3+, and CD4+ cell percentages and increases in CD8+ cell percentages (all P<0.05). The changes in NK, CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ cell percentages were attenuated in the NAC-CHO group (P<0.05 vs. both other groups). Conclusion. Preoperative oral carbohydrate can improve the postoperative populations of NK and T cells after the treatment of cervical cancer by NAC and surgery.

Objectives clinical and laboratory examination of patients with acute tonsillitis for early diagnosis and prognosis of peritonsillar abscess. Material and methods. The study included 101 patient with lacunar tonsillitis complicated by peritonsillar abscess and 64 donors (control group). Immunological studies were performed according to WHO recommendations, on the basis of the immunological department of the EMB Research Institute and the immunological laboratory of the SamSMU. Results. Immunological examination of patients with abscess showed an increase in: neutrophil phagocytic activity, CD4+/CD8+, the number of cells expressing HLA-DR+ markers, complement activity, IgA, IgM, IgG plasma concentration, fibronectin level, pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-8, IL-1, IL-1 and a decrease in: the level of TNF-, myeloperoxidase activity, number of cells containing CD4+, CD8+, CD16+, CD20+, CD25+ markers. High correlation was registered between total lymphocytes and CD3+ and CD4+ cells (p 0.01); between CD3+ and CD4+ markers (p 0.01); as well as high correlation of IL-1 levels with IL-8 and IL-1 (p 0.01). Cluster analysis revealed different types of immune homeostasis. The first type (cluster) had high values of leukocytes (total), lymphocytes (total), cells with CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD16+, CD20+, CD95+ and HLA-DR+ markers; the second type (cluster) was characterized by significantly lower levels of these immune status indicators. 41 patient had the first type of immune response, with an explicit clinical picture and rapid formation of an abscess. The second type of immune response was registered in 60 patients having a torpid course of the disease with delayed development of abscess. Further, to assess the type of immune reactions, it is necessary to substitute the values of indicators into the model and calculate the integral coefficient of the body's reaction (ICTROI and ICTROII).

Abstract Previous theoretical and empirical research on register variation has argued that linguistic co-occurrence patterns have a highly systematic relationship to register differences, because they both share the same functional underpinnings. The goal of this study is to test this claim through a comparison of two statistical techniques that have been used to describe register variation: factor analysis (as used in Multi-Dimensional analysis, MDA) and canonical discriminant analysis (CDA). MDA and CDA have different statistical bases and thus give priority to different analytical considerations: linguistic co-occurrence in the case of MDA and the prediction of register differences in the case of CDA. Thus, there is no statistical reason to expect that the two techniques, if applied to the same corpus, will produce similar results. We hypothesize that although MDA and CDA approach register variation from opposite sides, they will produce similar results because both types of statistical patterns are motivated by underlying discourse functions. The present paper tests this claim through a case-study analysis of variation among web registers, applying MDA and CDA to analyze register variation in the same corpus of texts.

Non-inflammatory exudative lesions of Reinke’ pos space present the most common cause of phonation disorders in representatives of vocal professions. The leading role in pathogenesis of this disorder is given to the nearly complete absence of lymphatic drainage of Reinke space and local deposition of tissue fluid. The mechanisms of its progression are of particular importance when determining the condition of mucosaassociated laryngeal tissue. The aim of our work was to evaluate the parameters of immunohistochemical lymphocyte typing in exudative lesions from the Reinke’s space. Materials and methods: The main group consisted of 40 patients, at the mean age of 43.2±2.1 years, exhibiting tumor-like exudative lesions of Reinke’s space. The biopsy material was taken from the vocal folds, including polyps, vocal nodules and Reinke’s edema. Myxoid and angiomatous types of the polyps were separately assessed. Videofibrolaryngoscopy was performed using an Olympus TYPE 150 bronchofibroscope (Germany). Morphological studies were carried out using a DMRXA microscope (Leika, Germany) by means of the ImageScopeM computer program (Germany). The uniformly treated sections were stained with Hematoxylin & Eosin (Biovitrum, Russia). Immunohistochemical quantitative assessment of the main T cell populations (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+), B cells (CD20+), histiocytes (CD68+), and the cells expressing bcl-2 and p53 cell regulators was carried out automatically using the BenchMarkXT immunohistotainer (Ventana, USA). The results were expressed as U/mm2. Results and Discussion. Some special features of cellular immunophenotype were revealed in exudative lesions of Reinke’s space. Reinke’s edema was characterized by high content of CD3+ lymphocytes, CD4+, CD8+, CD20+, p53 positive cells of the basal epithelium, as well as low numbers of CD68+, bcl-2 positive lymphocytes and cells of the basal epithelium. Myxoid type of polyps was characterized by low content of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD20+ lymphocytes, bcl-2 positive lymphocytes and basal epithelium cells, CD68+ monocyte-macrophage cells, and high amounts of p53 positive basal epithelial cells. In the angioma-type polyps, we have registered low contents of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD20+ lymphocytes, high numbers of monocyte-macrophage CD68+ cells, MMP-9+, bcl-2 positive lymphocytes, and low content of p53 positive cells of basal epithelium. The samples from the vocal nodules were characterized by low content of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD20+ and p53 positive basal epithelial cells; high numbers of CD68+ cells (monocyte-macrophage series), MMP-9+ and bcl-2 positive lymphocytes.

Objective: To evaluate the prognostic value of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients. Method: Meta-analysis was performed on eligible studies that was identified by systematic searching of Google scholar, MEDLINE, CNKI, Scopus, PubMed, PMC, Embase and Web of Science databases. The study protocol was registered in International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols-INPLASY (registration number: INPLASY202160014). Databases were searched from inception to January 20, 2020 to identify eligible studies. Those studies that evaluated survival in the form of hazard ratio (HR) in TILs of NPC patients was analyzed. All statistical analysis was performed by using STATA version 16.0 software. Result: Fourteen studies with a total of 3025 patients was analyzed. The pooled result showed that high TILs was significantly associated with favorable overall survival (OS) (HR = 0.55; 95%CI = 0.39-0.77; P = 0.001) and disease free survival (DFS) (HR = 0.60; 95%CI = 0.44-0.81; P = 0.04). Interestingly, high intratumoral TILs had relatively better OS (HR = 0.45; 95%CI = 0.35-0.58; P = 0.006) than stromal TILs (HR = 0.59; 95%CI = 0.36-0.97; P = 0.03). Moreover, an increased level of CD4+ cells infiltration was correlated with favorable OS (HR = 0.4; 95%CI = 0.18-0.85; P = 0.01). CD3+, CD8+ and FoxP3+ lymphocyte’s better prognosis was not statistically significant for OS ( P = 0.09; P = 0.07; P = 0.52) and for DFS ( P = 0.13; P = 0.29) respectively. However, subgroup analysis of intratumoral CD3+ (HR = 0.48; 95%CI = 0.33-0.70; P = 0.05) and intratumoral CD8+ (HR = 0.32; 95%CI = 0.16-0.62; P = 0.001) was significantly associated with improved OS, but not significant in stromal CD3+ (HR = 0.66; 95%CI = 0.20-2.20; P = 0.62). Conclusion: TILs were variably correlated with better prognosis depending on their microanatomic location and subset of TILs in NPC patients. CD4+, intratumoral CD3+ and intratumoral CD8+ lymphocytes could predict favorable patient outcome which suggest that their role in mediating antitumor immune response could potentially be exploited in the treatment of NPC patients. Future large study on the prognostic value of microanatomic location of TILs is needed for confirmation.

Classification survey requirements are anchored on the concept of a periodic, time-based preventive maintenance regime. The underlying principle of the periodic maintenance philosophy is that parts and components of equipment, machinery, systems and structures eventually wear out, thus the safety and reliability of parts and components – indeed the entire vessel – are directly correlated with time and operational age. While development of techniques and technologies have continuously improved surveys and inspection, the periodic maintenance philosophy has been the de-facto standard in marine and offshore industries for many decades. This paper presents Lloyd Register’s Cyber condition based maintenance (CBM) technique: a scalable evaluation of components, equipment, machinery, systems and structures that detects their emergent faults, and characterises their progression to failure. This is an important step in the evolution of in-service classification:moving away from a periodic, time-based maintenance regime into an intelligent, real-time and predictive vessel health maintenance regime.

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has become very popular with populations internationally and in the United States. CAM is defined as “a group of diverse medical and health systems, practices and products that are not generally considered as part of conventional medicine”. CAM is described as having five specific divisions: whole medical systems, mind-body medicine, biologically-based practices, manipulative- or body-based practices, and energy medicine. Recent studies have shown that CAM use is increasing. In the US 33% of the population reported using CAM in 1990, but 1997 usage rates increased to over 41%. The popularity of CAM is one of the reasons for the creation of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) by the National Institutes of Health the Federal Government's lead agency for scientific research on the diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not generally considered part of conventional medicine”. NCCAM information was the foundation for this project. The goals of this project are to evaluate the interest of dietitians in Georgia in CAM and introduce participants of this project to a segment of CAM treatments. The primary research question is: Are dietitians in the state of Georgia interested in using CAM as part of their practice? There were three distinct portions to this project; the initial survey of the dietitian participants, the development and use of the introductory CAM lesson, and the evaluation of this lesson and final survey. The data from both the first and second surveys as well as the post test does support a positive answer to the research question, “Are registered dietitians in the state of Georgia interested in CAM? The results clearly indicate an interest from both the survey 1 and survey 2/ post test group. Some may ask, “Is this really of any importance to the dietetics profession?” The answer to this can be found in the nutrition literature. Conducting a topic search of “Complementary and alternative medicine” in three predominant nutrition journals: the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, The Journal of Nutrition and The Journal of the American Dietetic Association, revealed more than 17,000 articles. These articles range for original research to review of original research to commentary articles evaluating the use of CAM to the dietetics practice. A number of articles addressed the importance of CAM in dietetics education as well as its importance to the practice and reimbursement for services.

The Emergency Department (ED) as a workplace for the Registered Nurse (RN) is a stressful environment. Reasons are thought to include interactions with other members of the interdisciplinary team as well as the situations associated with the environment of the ED such as trauma, death, sadness, joy and the general unpredictability of each moment. Studies have documented general health care workplace stress and its influence on staff, but a very limited number of studies have concentrated on the ED. No widely published studies have identified stressors from the perspective of the ED RN. This dissertation is an interpretive phenomenological study that seeks to understand the experience of being an ED RN through the exploration of the perceptions of stress as lived by individuals who practice their art and science in this unique setting. Materials for evaluation and thematic identification were obtained through personal interviews of practicing nurses. The stories told by the participants communicated what each individual found to be negatively stressful as well as what each found to be positively stressful. Conclusions based on the findings of this work suggest a need for the ED RN to be able to depend on the presence of several factors in order to be able to function with as little distress as possible. The optimal ED environment for the RN is posited to be supportive of the individual goals of the RN, provide adequate resources and foster a communicative interdisciplinary environment. Recommendations are made to improve resource management and interdisciplinary relations.

Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections are the most common sexually transmitted infections in the world today. HPV has been identified as the cause of both cancer and genital warts. A vaccine to prevent select types of HPV infection was developed and approved for males and females ages 9 to 26. This vaccine has not been universally accepted by healthcare providers, parents, or the public and has lower vaccination coverage rates than other recommended vaccines for the same age group. Multiple studies addressing the knowledge, perceptions, and beliefs of providers and parents regarding the vaccine have taken place. Only a few studies with the nursing profession are found in the literature and they do not look at the vaccine in regards to males. Nurses are seen as one of the most trustworthy of professions. What nurses know, perceive and believe can impact both patients and those they come in contact with on an informal basis. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine knowledge, beliefs, and perceptions of registered nurses about the human papillomavirus and associated vaccination for males. Methodology: This study took place in February of 2013 and used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional survey. The survey was administered online to alumni of the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Nursing, members of the Theta Epsilon chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, and current graduate nursing students and faculty of UCF College of Nursing. There were one hundred and twelve Registered Nurses that participated in the study. Findings: Knowledge of HPV varied among respondents. The vast majority knew that HPV was a common sexually transmitted infection however less were knowledgeable on specific iii information about the vaccine. Less than eighty percent of study participants knew that the vaccine was available for both males and females. Close to ninety percent of respondents agreed that vaccinating males would be important to protect their future partners from complications associated with HPV, such as genital warts and cervical cancer, and to protect themselves from future complications, such as genital warts and cancers. Participants with doctoral degrees possessed a significantly more favorable attitude (p<0.001) towards vaccine use in males than those with a bachelors degree. Conclusions: Nurses in this study were knowledgeable about specific HPV information but were less knowledgeable about the extent of infection seen in males or the availability of the vaccine for males. This study found inaccuracies and lack of knowledge among Registered Nurses that demonstrates the need for education about HPV and the associated vaccine. While the attitudes of the respondents reflect favorably toward the vaccine, there is still a need for education among this population.

Front-line registered nurses (RNs) make up the workforce that directly affect the care of patients in a variety of different healthcare settings. RN job satisfaction is important because it is tied to retention, organizational commitment, workforce safety, patient safety, and cost savings. The strongest predictors have been difficult to determine because workplaces differ, numerous tools to measure satisfaction exist, the workforce is diversified by generations and work positions, and ongoing policy changes directly impact the work of the front-line RN. The strength and stability of the workforce depends on an accurate understanding of the predictors of job satisfaction for the front-line RN. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively, quantitatively examine predictors of front-line RN job satisfaction from 1980-2009 to provide overarching conclusions based on empirical evidence. Of interest was: the (1) estimation of large, moderate, and small predictor summary effect sizes; (2) assessment of predictor differences among decades (i.e., 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s); (3) identification of causes for predictor differences among studies (i.e., moderators); and (4) investigation of predictor differences between generations (i.e., Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials). A non-a priori meta-analysis approach was guided by inclusion and exclusion criteria to review published and unpublished studies from 1980–2009. The search process identified 48 published and 14 unpublished studies used for analysis. Within the studies that met inclusion criteria, 27 job satisfaction predictors met inclusion for analysis. Studies were coded for Study Characteristics (e.g., Year of Publication, Country of Study) that were needed for moderator analysis. Predictors were coded for data that were necessary to calculate predictor summary effect sizes (i.e., r, n). Coding quality was maximized with a coding reliability scheme that included the primary investigator (PI) and secondary coder. A random-effects model was used to guide the calculation of summary effect sizes for each job satisfaction predictor. Publication bias was examined using funnel plots and Rosenthal's Fail-safe N. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to evaluate predictor differences among decades (i.e., 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s). Heterogeneity among studies was calculated (i.e., Q-statistic, I-squared, and Tau-squared) to guide the need for moderator analysis. Moderator analyses were conducted to evaluate Study Characteristics as sources of predictor differences among studies, and to investigate the influence of Age (i.e., generation) on predictor effect sizes. The largest effect sizes were found for three predictors: Task Significance (r=.61), Empowerment (r=.55), and Control (r=.52). Moderate effect sizes were found for 10 predictors (e.g., Autonomy: r=.44; Stress: r=-.43), and small effect sizes were found for nine predictors (e.g., Wages: r=.23; Staffing Adequacy: r=.19). Significant heterogeneity between studies was present in all of the 27 predictor analyses. Effect size differences were not found between decades or generations. Moderator analysis found that the sources of the difference between studies remain unexplained indicating that unknown moderators are present. Findings from this study indicate that the largest predictors of job satisfaction for the front-line RN may be different than previously thought. Heterogeneity between studies and unidentified moderators indicate that there are significant differences among studies and more research is needed to identify the source(s) of these differences. The findings from this study can be used at the organizational, state, and national level to guide leaders to focus efforts of workplace improvements that are based on predictors that are most meaningful to front-line RNs (i.e., Task Requirements, Empowerment, and Control). Future research is needed to determine contemporary predictors of job satisfaction for the front-line RN, and the causes of heterogeneity between studies. The findings from the current study provide the critical synthesis needed to guide educational and practice recommendations aimed at supporting job satisfaction of front-line RNs, thereby, maintaining this integral component of the healthcare workforce.

Over the last few decades our society has moved towards restricting where sexual offenders can live, work, and overall congregate. This issue has been the focus of great public attention due to the media's role in bringing these offenders to the light. Whether it is through the news, movies, TV series, books, talk shows, newspapers articles, etc., these offenders are constantly being talked about. Every body of government in the United States has moved towards implementing restrictions that are aimed at keeping sex offenders away from places where they are considered a potential danger. However, what it is not talked about is that in efforts to limit where sex offenders can live and work to ensure the safety of our society; we are isolating these offenders and hindering their reintegration into our society. By isolating sexual offenders from our society we are doing more harm than good because we are discriminating and not working to fit the needs of each individual offender. One size does not fit all. The intent of this thesis is to explore sexual offender legal restrictions, treatment, case law, constitutionality of these laws and to compare Florida's approach towards restriction of sexual offenders with other states. Through the analysis of case law and statutes, recidivism rates, and treatment options this thesis will evaluate what different approaches should be taken towards aiding the reintegration of sexual offenders into our society. This thesis will provide background information on sexual offenders, compare legal restrictions among states, give an analysis of sexual offender websites, and provide recommendations to a better approach in treating sexual offenders. By raising awareness to the unfairness of treatment of sexual offenders, this thesis aims to open a new gateway to determine more successful ways to rehabilitate sexual offenders.

Over the past several years, increasing public emphasis on preventing child maltreatment has resulted in substantial changes to Florida's child abuse and neglect central registry. Many of these recent changes, aimed at preventing child maltreatment, have resulted in over one million false, unsubstantiated, and inconclusive reports of child abuse and neglect within the last decade. While the information held in reports may be useful for identifying and preventing potential child abuse or neglect, due process concerns have been raised with regards to the process of placing a person's name in a report without providing a hearing for challenging or removing inaccurate information. Focusing on Florida law, this research concentrates on: 1) the child maltreatment reporting process, 2) the procedures for maintaining reports, and 3) the accessibility of these reports in order to determine whether due process constitutional rights are protected under Florida's child abuse and neglect reporting laws. The intent of this thesis is to analyze the occurrence of unsubstantiated cases of child maltreatment, incidences of false reporting, and legal remedies available for those wrongfully accused of abusing or neglecting a child. Through the analysis of case law, federal and state statutes, available statistics, child abuse resources, and personal interviews with members of the Florida Legislature, evidence shows that due process constitutional rights are not protected under Florida's child abuse and neglect reporting laws. By raising awareness of the areas of child protection that require legal re-evaluation, this thesis aims to discover the balance between protecting children from harm and protecting adults from the severe ramifications resulting from false and improper allegations of child abuse and neglect.

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect work environment has on occupational commitment and intent to leave the profession for bedside registered nurses. Subscales of autonomy, control over the practice setting, nurse-physician relationship, and organizational support were incorporated into the analysis to determine which aspect of work environment most directly effects occupational commitment and intent to leave the profession. The research was undertaken in order to help administrators determine the ways in which work environment can be improved upon in order to retain bedside registered nurses in the profession. An explanatory cross sectional survey was distributed to 259 direct care bedside registered nurses employed at a rural, system affiliated hospital in Central Florida. Human subject protection was assured through the University of Central Florida Institutional Review Board. A 77 item questionnaire containing 9 demographic questions, 57 questions from the Nursing Work Index- Revised (NWI-R), 8 questions from Blau's occupational commitment scale, and 3 questions from Blau's intent to leave scale was distributed to all direct care nurses. Subjects were also given the opportunity to complete 3 short answer questions. A 32.8 percent response rate was achieved for a total of 85 complete and usable surveys. Data analysis showed that the work environment is positively related to occupational commitment and negatively related to intent to leave. In addition each of the four subscales (autonomy, control over the practice setting, relationship with physicians, and organizational support) were also positively related to occupational commitment and negatively related to intent to leave the profession. Implications for organizations, public policy and future research are discussed.

This investigation studied the impact of registered therapy dogs assigned to students in order to improve reading skills. The purpose of this study was to determine if children assigned to registered therapy dogs improve significantly in reading achievement and related school performance such as attendance and discipline when compared to students of similar characteristics not assigned to registered therapy dogs. Specifically, the study used data to ascertain whether students assigned to registered therapy dogs improved their reading skills and if these students demonstrated more or less growth than students of similar characteristics not assigned to registered therapy dogs. This study analyzed data from the Canine Assisted Reading Education (C.A.R.E. to Read) program, data collected from the teacher responses to the C.A.R.E. to Read Teacher Questionnaire, and data provided by Brevard Public School District. Repeated measures analyses and descriptive statistics clearly revealed that students assigned to registered therapy dogs demonstrated more reading growth than their peers who were not assigned to registered therapy dogs. Additionally, students assigned to the registered therapy dogs had a more positive attitude toward schoolwork, were more willing to participate in classroom activities, were more successful with higher level thinking skills, and were more self-confident after being assigned to the registered therapy dogs. Recommendations were made to address teacher training concerning classroom environment, higher level thinking skills, and identifying hesitant and resistant learners. Recommendations also were made for additional research on other uses for registered therapy dogs in the educational setting.

The need for health data to be internationally Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) and thereby support integrative analysis with other datasets has become crystal clear in the ongoing pandemic. The Dutch National Intensive Care Evaluation (NICE) quality registry adopted the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Database Model (OMOP CDM) to achieve a FAIR database. In the process of adopting the OMOP CDM, many modeling, technical, and communication challenges needed to be solved. Through communication with the OMOP CDM implementation community, previously done research and trial-and-error we found solutions that we believe can help other healthcare institutions, especially ICU quality registries, FAIRify their databases.

Abstract The Spiking Gas Compressor project was installed in 2014, which reduces 65,000 tons of Carbon-di-oxide (CO2) emission annually. This was subsequently registered as a CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) project under UN convention and incidentally this was the first ADNOC project to be under this registration. The registration is the first step to claim for Carbon Credits under United Nations Framework of Clean Climate Convention (UNFCCC) scheme. No Carbon Credits were claimed under CDM since its commissioning in 2014 due to low carbon price. In 2019, we achieved the next big milestone of trading these accumulated carbon credits to an Austrian MNC. M/s MASDAR, pioneer in this field, who are also partner of ADNOC onshore in this green project, arranged an Upstream Emission Reduction (UER) buyer. The transaction is worth 65,000 tons of CO2 reduction and considerable monetary benefit. This transaction assumes significance not in terms of monetary value but a global recognition to ADNOC as a company amongst the leading players in the global arena in reducing the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. This project is the first & largest Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) registered in Oil & Gas industry in UAE. United Nations Framework Convention on Clean Climate (UNFCCC) recognized flare gas recovery through Spiking Gas Project as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project to generate Carbon Credits. The project demonstrates the commitment and support of Abu Dhabi Government and ADNOC towards climate change mitigation measures. Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project demonstrated successful partnership with Masdar. The project was converted into to UER scheme. ADNOC Onshore & Masdar arranged a Buyer. Later, in compliance to ISO 14064/65, post Validation/ Verification by external auditors brought a considerable revenue to ADNOC.

The search for short-lived particles is an important part of physics research in experiments withrelativistic heavy ions. To find, select and study the properties of such short-lived particles in real timein the CBM experiment (FAIR/GSI, Germany), we have developed a package of algorithms, KFParticle Finder, which contains a search for more than 150 decay channels. The decays of short-livedcharged particles, when one of the daughter particles is neutral and cannot be registered in the detectorsystem, are also of great physics interest. To find and study such decays, we have extended the KFParticle Finder package by implementing the missing mass method, which is based on theconservation of energy and momentum laws. The method was studied in detail on simulated data of the CBM experiment, showing high efficiencywith a large signal-to-background ratio, as well as high significance. As part of the FAIR Phase-0program, the KF Particle Finder package of algorithms has been adapted for online and offlineprocessing in the STAR experiment (BNL, USA).Here we describe and discuss in detail the missing mass method for finding and analyzing short-livedparticles. The features of the application of the method to both simulated data in the CBM experimentand in the STAR experiment as part of real-time express data processing, as well as the results of thereal-time reconstruction of short-lived particle decays in the BES-II environment of the STARexperiment, are given.

Associative Processing provides high-performance and energyefficient parallel computation using a Content-Addressable Memory (CAM). Emerging big data applications can be significantly sped-up by Associative Processing, but validation and evaluation are key challenges. We present RVAcross, a RISC-V Associative Processing Simulator for testing, validation, and modeling associative operations. RV-Across eases the design of associative and near-memory processing architectures by offering interfaces to both building new operations and providing high-level experimentation. Our simulator records memory and registers states of each associative operation pass, giving the user visibility and control over the simulation. The user can employ the simulation statistics provided by RV-Across to compute performance and energy metrics. RV-Across implements common associative operations and provides a framework to allow for easy extension. We show how the simulator works by experimenting with different scenarios for associative operations with three applications that test the functionality of logic and arithmetic computations: matrix multiply, checksum, and bitcount. Our results highlight the direct relation between the data length and potential performance improvement of associative processing in comparison to regular CPU serial and parallel operation. In case of matrix multiplication, the speed-up increases linearly with matrices dimension, achieving 8X for 200x200 bytes matrices and overcoming parallel execution in an 8-core CPU.

Review question / Objective: As a common type of clinical dementia, the prevalence rate of vascular dementia(VaD) increased rapidly in recent years, damaging both patients’ health and social-economic prospect. There is currently no effective treatment for VaD, though western medicines can slightly improve patients' cognitive function, but not brought a significant improvement in daily life ability. Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) has been widely employed to treat dementia for more than 2000 years in China. Despite the proliferation of relevant literature, there is still a lack of evidence to prove the effectiveness and safety of such therapy. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis protocol is aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of CHM forVaD. This paper studies volatility spillovers in credit default swaps (CDS) between the corporate sectors and Latin American countries. Daily data from October 14, 2006, to August 23, 2021, are employed. Spillovers are computed both for the raw data and for filtered series which factor out the effect of global common factors on the various CDS series. Results indicate that most spillovers occur within groups that is, within the series of sovereign CDS contracts and the price contracts of CDS issued by global corporations. However, considerable spillovers are also registered between LAC sovereigns and corporations. Interesting differences are encountered between filtered and unfiltered data. Specifically, spillovers from countries to corporations are overestimated (by about 4.3 percentage points) and spillovers from corporations to sovereigns are underestimated (by about 5.8 percentage points) when unfiltered data are used. This result calls for a revision of results obtained from studies that do not consider the role played by global common factors in system spillovers. Like in most related studies, spillovers show considerable time variation, being larger during times of financial or economic distress. When looking at total system spillovers over time, those corresponding to unfiltered series are always larger than those corresponding to filtered series. The difference between the two time series is largest in times of distress, indicating that global factors play a major role in times of crisis. Similar conclusions are derived from network analysis.

Review question / Objective: Currently, pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with ILM peeling is the gold standard treatment for full thickness macular hole (FTMH). Despite of the high macular hole closure rate, a refractory FTMH may occur. The next step for a recurrent or persistent MH is usually repeat PPV with extended ILM peeling. This is not always an option especially with high myopia patients or those who had already undergone an aggressive ILM peeling at initial surgery. A variety of novel techniques have been developed to address this issue, among which human amniotic membrane seems to be a promising adjuvant. However, there are still uncertainties regarding the integration and the long-term effects of of the graft.
