Анотація:

Jepin Tali dance is one of the traditional Malay dances from Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. This Jepin Tali dance was very popular then, especially among the Malay tribe community, because the community participated in dancing or bejepen at every performance. This is a group dance performed by both male and female dancers. However, this dance has been hibernating. Accordingly, this research aims to reconstruct the Jepin Tali dance so it can be revived in the community. This study is a practice-led research. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and literature study. Burra Charter's theory was used in the dance reconstruction. The results of this study indicate that the reconstruction increased the range of motion from 3 to 16 varieties, musical instruments, make-up and clothing, and floor patterns. The dance structure was developed into three parts: the beginning, the core, and the closing, by using the property of eight ropes braided in red, green, blue, and yellow colors and accompanied by music featuring Siti Zubaidah's poetry.

Анотація:

Among the important problems encountered in the implementation of cultural heritage preservation in Indonesia nowadays is the establishment of the cultural register in national, province, or regency/city levels. Criteria in article 5 of the Law on Items of Cultural Heritage No.11/2010 are insufficient for the process of assigning historical assets as cultural heritage items. The criteria also seem to merely be a “copy and paste” of the previous law. Meanwhile, at the global level, during the last several decades, many countries have begun to adopt the concept of the important values of heritages, which is depicted in the Burra Charter as a reference to develop criteria in assigning items of cultural heritages. To improve our national criteria in the near future, this study is aimed at evaluating national criteria in article 5 based on opinions of 33 representatives of local communities in Medan, as stakeholders in the preservation of cultural heritages in the city of Medan, by performing interviews and group discussions using Nominal Group Technique or NGT. From the diverse opinions of the 33 participants obtained from the two phases of data collecting process, it is concluded that our national criteria in assigning an item of cultural heritage that were mentioned in article 5 of the Law on Items of Cultural Heritage No.11/2010 are still obscure, difficult to measure, overlapping, and not quite in line with global trend. Most participants disagree that age is used as the main criteria. There are a number of suggestions (inputs) from the participants to improve the sentences in article 5 to form criteria that are easier to measure and independent.

Nilai penting adalah satu-satunya alasan yang mendasari pelestarian cagar budaya. Terbukti bahwa tidak ada masyarakat yang berupaya melestarikan aset bersejarah yang tidak mengandung nilai. Sejak penerbitan Burra Charter pada tahun 1979, banyak negara mengakui pentingnya mengidentifikasi makna atau nilai penting objek warisan budaya untuk mengembangkan kebijakan dan perencanaan dalam pengelolaannya. Saat ini, asesmen nilai penting objek warisan budaya adalah bagian dari proses penetapan aset sejarah menjadi cagar budaya. Meskipun wacana konservasi cagar budaya di Kota Medan telah berkembang sejak 1980-an, tetapi asesmen nilai penting budaya masih merupakan konsep baru untuk komunitas cagar budaya Indonesia karena tidak terdapat uraian yang jelas dalam Undang-Undang Cagar Budaya No. 11 tahun 2010. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, perlu seperangkat kriteria yang mengandung prinsip, karakteristik, kategori, dan panduan untuk membantu menetapkan apakah aset bersejarah mengandung nilai warisan budaya atau tidak dan untuk menghasilkan penilaian yang lebih akuntabel, transparan, dan konsisten. Menetapkan daftar kriteria selayaknya menjadi wilayah para akademisi dan para ahli yang dikoordinasikan oleh pihak berwenang di daerah setempat. Namun, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penetapan kriteria untuk penilaian signifikansi dapat dilakukan dengan melibatkan 33 orang masyarakat lokal melalui tiga fase pengumpulan data dan analisis antara lain survei lapangan; wawancara mendalam; pertemuan kelompok; dan kuesioner kepada 33 peserta. Akhirnya, penelitian ini menghasilkan enam kriteria untuk penilaian penetapan cagar budaya di Kota Medan yang berasal dari lima nilai: sejarah, desain atau arsitektur fisik, budaya dan spiritual, ilmiah, dan sosial.Value is the sole reason underlying heritage conservation. It is self-evident that no society makes an effort to conserve a historic asset what it does not value. Since the publication of the Burra Charter in 1979, many countries recognized the importance of identifying the cultural heritage significance or values to develop the policy and planning in heritage management. Today, the cultural significance assessment is part of the listing process of a historical asset as heritage. Although the discourse of cultural heritage conservation in Medan had evolved since the 1980s, cultural significance assessment is still a new concept for Indonesia heritage community with the absence of its description within the Indonesian Heritage Act No. 11 of 2010. For that reason, we need a set of criteria which contain principles, characteristics, categories, and guidance to help decide whether a historic asset has heritage value or not and to make the assessment results more accountable, transparent, and consistent as well. Establishing criteria for listing have traditionally been the territory of academics and experts coordinated by the authorities of the region. However, this study has shown that establishing criteria for significance assessment could be done by involving 33 local people through three phases of data collections and analyses such as field survey; in-depth interview; group meeting; and questionnaire to the 33 participants. Finally, the research revealed six criteria for the significance assessment of cultural heritage in Medan derived from five values: history, physical design or architecture, cultural and spiritual, scientific, and social.

Анотація:

The study was aimed at examination of age-related morphology of spleen and bursa of Fabricius of Pekin ducks with a dietary selenium deficiency and its correction with an organic selenium additive. The experimental study was carried out in 85 day-old ducks divided into two groups, control group and test group, 40 ducks per group, the experiment lasted for 120 days. Control group was fed with standard mixed feed for meat-type poultry. The test group of ducks was fed with the feed supplemented with DAFS-25k organic selenium additive, 1.3 mg/kg of feed, that fully compensated selenium deficiency. The study showed that the dynamics of absolute body weights and relative weight gains in control and test groups correlated to the general biological pattern – increase in absolute parameters and decrease in relative parameters were dependent on age. Therewith, maximum relative weight gain intensity was reported at the age of 15 days and maximum increase in relative spleen and bursa of Fabricius weights was reported in at the age of 30 days. Weight gain parameter drastically decreased on day 75 and remained low up to the age of 120 days. Changes in the relative spleen and bursa of Fabricius weights were non-linear throughout the study. Therewith, in ducks of all ages tested spleen parameters remained approximately at the same level but bursa of Fabricius parameters changed – relative weight of bursa of Fabricius decreased by the age of 45 days and then increased again by the age of 75 days. Relative weight gains and relative spleen weights of ducklings in test group were higher than that ones of ducklings in control group during the examined ontogenesis periods. The opposite pattern was observed for bursa of Fabricius: the above-mentioned parameters in test group were lower than that ones in control group. It was concluded that organic selenium additive had a positive effect on development of the immune system organs and reduced the stress factor impact on duckling organism.

Hirtodrosophila Duda, 1923 (Diptera, Drosophilidae) is a worldwide genus associated with fungi that encompasses 30 Neotropical species. They are gathered into four clusters: glabrifrons species group (Burla 1956), hirticornis species group (Burla 1956), magnarcus species group (Frota-Pessoa 1951), and thoracis species group (Grimaldi 1987), although there are still some ungrouped species. Nevertheless, their species richness is highly underestimated, and several unknown species of the genus have been sampled in different Brazilian regions. The known Neotropical flies of the hirticornis group belong to a set of four yellow sibling species, which are very difficult to identify based only on external morphology, a fact that partially explains the knowledge gap regarding ecology, biology, and evolution of the group. However, these species are easily sampled around some fungi fruiting bodies, particularly over Auricularia spp. (Auriculariales, Auriculariaceae). In the last years, we collected some hundreds of specimens, which allowed us to detect some common but yet undescribed species. Thus, here we describe four new Neotropical species in the hirticornis group.

The aim of this thesis is to explore the class and consciousness formation in a local setting by also developing and applying a theoretical framework which allow us to study the interaction of locus of class consciousness with the other loci of consciousness formation such as the community and the state. Such an approach is also grounded in the belief that a relational understanding of these processes requires us to take spatial dynamics such as local dependency, spatial fix and fixity and mobility into account. By critically drawing upon historico-geographical materialist approach(es), the thesis attempts at resolving the tensions between &lsquo
locality-wider society&rsquo
and &lsquo
structure-consciousness&rsquo
. By integrating them into a holistic and operational conceptual framework, it investigates the highly complex patterning of relations within urban structured coherences, and their effects upon the class and consciousness formation processes. It is shown that interpenetration of these fields of tension through urban processes is crucial in shaping a backbone for the concrete struggles fought by working class against capital in and of the urban regions. These issues are discussed with reference to two working class neighborhoods in Bursa. The first community, Emek, is an unplanned, illegally built settlement, hosting mostly migrant, and lower-wage earning industrial workers, and the second one, Akpinar, is a planned settlement, composed of low-cost housing cooperatives, symbolizing a higher living standard environment for well-paid, socially secure workers, mostly local in origin. The field research focuses on the relations between &lsquo
the labor market, housing market and local dependency&rsquo
and &lsquo
the strategies between mobility-fixity adopted both on part of capital and labor&rsquo
. The specific character of these strategies also tell us how the patterning of the relations between class, community and state loci of consciousness formation and the formation of local coherences mutually shape one another. It is often assumed in this context that formation of class-based consciousness is hindered by other loci of consciousness such as the community-based one. This study shows that community-based consciousness is itself largely absent in the communities in hand and when community-base is deployed by the local workers it is often strategically employed to get personal benefits. In this sense, the study concludes that the lack of community-based consciousness does not device more effective strategies of formation of class-based consciousness but perhaps another adverse factor in developing class-based consciousness in an environment heavily dominated by individualized form of consciousness.

Common beliefs posit that rebel fragmentation and the emergence of splinter groups are often associated with intra-rebel violence. However, empirical evidence suggests that it is not always the case: there are cases of non-lethal competition between parent and splinter groups across time and terrain. This study explores the cause of lethal and non-lethal conflict between parent and splinter group that represent ethno-nationalist identity. By using theories of rational choice and outbidding strategy, I argue that lethal intra-rebel conflict are less likely when there is a balanced distribution of power between parent and splinter groups, subsequent to organizational fragmentation. This is because intra-rebel conflict against formidable opponents is costly. Further, it presents an existential threat in the event of counterinsurgency or retaliation. Thus, it is expected that rebel groups are more likely to employ non-lethal outbidding strategy in order to become the sole representation of their ethnic group. Using the method of structured focused comparison, this hypothesis is tested by comparing Moro insurgencies in Philippines and Karen insurgencies in Burma. The main finding demonstrates partial support to the causality of distribution power to the lethality of outbidding strategies. In addition, the empirical analysis also shows state intervention and social ties as influencing lethal intra-rebel conflict.

René Burri dans Les Allemands, Hans Magnus Enzensberger dans Landessprache, Robert Frank dans Les Américains, et Allen Ginsberg dans Howl and other poems se font les consciences de leur époque. Ils conçoivent leur pratique artistique comme l’exercice d’une essentielle critique face à un ordre social établi qui ne l’autorise guère. A travers mots et images, ils passent au crible la pensée dominante (« american way of life », « melting-pot », « miracle économique », « culpabilité collective ») et font saillir les paradoxes et apories qui la sous-tendent. Tant bien que mal, ils tentent de dessiner les contours d’une identité à la fois collective – celle d’un peuple – et individuelle – la leur, aux prises avec une société dans laquelle ils éprouvent toutes les difficultés à s’incarner. Four young poets and photographers trawl through the troughs and peaks of history in a divided and destroyed Germany struggling to come to terms with its Nazi past and an America grappling with McCarthysm and the Cold War. René Burri in Les Allemands, Hans Magnus Enzensberger in Landessprache, Robert Frank in Les Américains, and Allen Ginsberg in Howl and other poems are the consciences of their time. They see their artistic activity as an essential criticism of a social order which only grudgingly allows them to do so. They thoroughly examine the prevailing opinion ("American way of life", "melting pot", "economic miracle", "collective responsibility") through their words and images and in doing so cast light on the paradoxes and aporiae that underline it. Somehow, they attempt to draw the outlines of an identity that is both collective – that of a people – and individual – their own, all the time battling against a society in which they have difficulty existing. They grasp at literary figures, rebellious brothers from the present or the past who give them comfort in their act of resistance. Each in his way explores several paths and voices – real or imaginary – in order to escape from the imprisonment and alienation that threatens him: wandering, traveling, anarchy, utopia, drug-use, madness or a poetical dual personality are all brought to bear. In various degrees their poetical or photographical gesture finds expression in a phenomenological gesture that feeds on living images and sensations that sharpen the sense of perception. Education harbours some of the most pervasive contradictions in contemporary India. While it produces world famous human capital enhancing the country's rising competitiveness as a global ‘knowledge economy', millions of children still lack access to basic education. In Kerala, a state famous for the success of its educational achievements, the benefits of education that can be gained by those in the lower strata of society continue to be marginal regardless of policies of positive discrimination. Focusing on youth at the higher secondary school level (grades 11-12), ‘the primary bottleneck in the education system today' (World Bank 2012), this thesis seeks to understand the social processes that go into making education a key resource to the (re)production of inequalities. Based upon a year's ethnographic fieldwork in and around two schools in Ernakulam, South India, this thesis examines the ways in which two distinct groups of youth – one attending a top end private English medium school at the heart of a city and the other educated in an institution at the bottom of the schooling ladder – inhabit their final year of schooling and generate future projects and aspirations. I located their experiences at the intersection of the two educational sites par excellence: the school and the house. In the city, middle-class schooling and parental regimes attempt to orient youth's lives towards the acquisition of multiple competences aimed at enhancing their individual prospects towards becoming competitive professionals, depicted as garnering maximum amounts of wealth and prestige in today's globalised economy of paid employment and migration. At the fringes of middle-class urban life and the quest for professionalism, youth are becoming subject of an increasing ghettoisation: only the educationally, financially and socially poor are left to attend their school. In that stark scenario, education emerged as central to both youth performances of class, status and gender. They constructed and embodied identities based on education and more generally with ideas of competence. This creative work revealed an overtly hierarchical field formed of distinctive peer groups engaged in overt practices of exclusion and inclusion according to imagine futures: mostly elusive fantasies that reveal the youth marked by uncertainties in a time shaped by rising expectations and increasingly intricate and unequal paths leading to them.

The lowermost Adelaidean sequences exposed to the immediate north of Arkaroola are unusual as they exhibit a localised complexity of deformation and elevated metamorphic grade that is not observed elsewhere in the Adelaide Fold Belt. Deformation and metamorphism in Arkaroola is thought to have formed as part of the Delamerian Orogen approximately 515-490 Ma. The timing of deformation and metamorphism however is poorly constrained in this area. This paper aims to discuss the structural and metamorphic conditions in the area to determine if there was a possibility of a pre or post-Delamerian structural and/or thermal event. A section was mapped to the North-East of the Arkaroola Homestead to gain an insight into the structural and metamorphic conditions of the area. Samples were collected from the field and used for microstructural analysis. An Electron Microprobe, Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer and an XRF spectrometer were used for geochemical analysis on the samples. Structural and stratigraphic observations combined with microstructural analysis of samples from the field helped the author create an interpreted geological history of the area. Graben formation accommodated an initial period of sediment deposition followed by basalt extrusion. Several phases of localised rifting and deposition followed this initial deposition period due to changing fault geometries. A mineral fabric that occurs parallel to bedding is seen throughout the study area. This fabric is overgrown and included in prominent cordierite porphyroblasts that formed during peak metamorphism of ≥500 °C at a pressure of approximately ~1.30kbars. These pressure and temperature conditions were primarily due to the burial beneath a thick cover of sediments. A number of faults trending in a NE-SW direction have been identified as splays from the Paralana fault system. The strike-slip movement of the Paralana Fault along with the high heat producing basement of the Mount Painter Inlier has controlled the localised structural complexity and elevated metamorphic grade in the Arkaroola area.

The lowermost sediments of the Adelaide Supergroup near Arkaroola display pronounced structural complexity and anomalously high metamorphic grade. The timing of the structures, fabrics and metamorphism in the region remain unconstrained, although all are currently interpreted to have occurred during the Delamerian Orogeny. Monazite U/Pb geochronology provides a useful technique for dating amphibolites facies rocks and, combined with map scale and micro structural observations, suggests the peak metamorphism and at least one deformation event occurred significantly earlier than the Delamerian Orogeny. Monazite derived 206Pb/238U age estimates place the timing of peak metamorphism at 705.2±7.4 Ma with observations from thin section revealing a bedding parallel fabric pre-dating peak metamorphism. U/Pb analysis also reveals a second monazite growth event at 644.2±8 Ma the cause of which is hypothesised to be fluid related. Regional folding and axial planar fabric generation post-dates this metamorphism and can be seen to overprint the earlier fabric and wrap the cordierite porphyroblasts. This final deformation event remains largely unconstrained as in situ dating of monazite was not possible in this study. The inferred parasitic relationship between the folds within the studied region and the Arkaroola Syncline which folds the youngest sediments in the Adelaidian Sequence allows for the deposition to be constrained subsequent to the conclusion of the Adelaide Rift Complex.

The Tonian was a remarkable period in Earth’s history, experiencing dramatic changes in the Earth system that resulted in a series of global climatic catastrophes, ultimately leading to marked changes in the biosphere. The break-up of the supercontinent Rodinia is thought to have had a profound impact on the Earth system during the Tonian, ultimately resulting in the ~58 million-year deep freeze of the Sturtian glaciation. Increased continental margins and the weathering of vast continental flood basalts, promoting high levels of primary productivity, were large players in the drawdown of atmospheric CO2, the chemical implications of which resonate through Tonian ocean chemistry. The laterally extensive Skillogalee and Myrtle Springs Formations, within the Burra Group sediments of South Australia, span a pre-Sturtian carbonate succession that offer further insights into late Tonian paleo-environments. High resolution geochemical trends throughout the Skillogalee and Myrtle Springs Formations display evidence of a shift from a restricted to a more open marine setting, that was met with a flux of hydrothermally influenced waters. A hydrothermal flux through underlying basalts likely accounts for the enigmatic widespread deposition of sedimentary magnesites throughout the Skillogalee Formation. The longevity and regional reproducibility of significant europium anomalies suggests that a mafic mantle flux endured throughout Burra Group sedimentation. Cerium anomalies, supported by Zn/Fe ratios, evince open marine seawaters were largely dysoxic throughout the late Tonian, constraining Neoproterozoic oxygenation to post-Sturtian. Neodymium isotopes in Burra Group marine waters display a rise towards primitive endmembers, reflecting a mafic weathering flux, induced, no doubt, by the break-up of Rodinia. High levels of organic carbon burial are coupled with pronounced mafic weathering, detailing a mass drawdown of CO2 throughout Burra Group sedimentation during the late Tonian, hereby also holding important ramifications for the instatement of the Cryogenian glaciations.

The rift and deformational evolution of the Adelaide Fold Belt’s northern-most extent, the northern Flinders Ranges, has received comparatively little attention than that of the southern Adelaide Fold Belt. The Arkaroola area, located in the mid-north northern Flinders Ranges, exposes the lowermost Adelaidean stratigraphy of this rift complex, the Callanna and lower Burra Groups, in a near complete sedimentary sequence. The rift history of this stratigraphy is complex, with deposition being largely controlled by the northeast-southwest orientated Paralana Fault and similarly orientated local growth faults. Locally, the Paralana Fault deviates from its regional orientation and forms a north-south striking segment, which under a considered sinistral strike-slip regime during extension would potentially create localised transtension in a ‘releasing bend’ environment. Rifting in the Arkaroola area is therefore considered to be analogous to the formation of a pull-apart basin. U-Pb dating of detrital zircons from the Paralana Quartzite, Humanity Seat Formation and Blue Mine Conglomerate from the Callanna and lower Burra groups yields ages that are comparable to local source regions the Gawler Craton, Mount Painter Basement Complex and the Curnamona Province, and suggest proximal derivation during early rift phases. Sm-Nd bulk rock analysis on the finer grained Woodnamoka Formation implies derivation from the Mount Painter Basement Complex or the upper Willyama Supergroup of the Curnamona Province, the latter of which potentially suggests a more distal provenance region outside of the Australian continent. Deformation in the northern Flinders Ranges has previously been largely ascribed to the ca. 500 Ma Delamerian Orogeny. However, the Arkaroola area exhibits complex deformation not observed in the directly overlying gently folded stratigraphy. Reactivation of pull-apart rift structures during transpression is considered a possible mechanism for producing and localising such deformation. The possibility of an early Neoproterozoic deformational event occurring prior to deposition of the lesser-deformed overlying stratigraphy is also considered, but in lieu of an unequivocal orogenic unconformity, cannot be confidently ascribed. Temporal constraints defined by this study are too broad to accurately define the timing of deformation, and therefore its timing and potential relationship to the Delamerian Orogeny remains largely enigmatic.

The term “pes anserinus tendinobursitis (PATB)” is generally used to describe the inflammatory condition of pes anserinus bursa (PAB). Ultrasound (US) is widely used as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool to improve the assessment and management of joints and soft tissues. We performed the study to prove the accuracy and efficacy of US-guided injections in patients with PATB by comparing blind interventions. Forty-seven patients were randomly assigned to an US-guided and a blind injection group. The patients in the US-guided group were given injections under sonographic visualization. Otherwise, in the blind group, injections were provided in the conventional technique without any sonographic guidance. After the management, the accuracy of the injections was assessed by identifying the injectate location using the US. Treatment efficacy was evaluated using the visual analog scale (VAS) of knee tenderness. The US-guided group showed that the injectates were located at the PAB accurately in all participants, whereas the blind group revealed that the materials were found to be at the bursa side only in 4 out of 22 patients. VAS scores of the US-guided group significantly improved compared to the blind group. In conclusion, US-guided PAB injections are more accurate and efficacious than blind approaches.

This chapter examines the changing political framework of the region from the late nineteenth century through to World War I as fluid political boundaries that were transformed into bordered territories. It describes how local elites in the Yunnan boundary region managed the transition zone of the mountains between Burma and China, and the role that they played in the local political system after the Panthay revolt and just prior to the fall of the Konbaung Dynasty in Burma. The chapter then describes how old and new elites were created in this process of geo-political transformation. It focuses in particular on the eastern borderworld, where great ethnographic complexity became rationalised in line with new and emerging political needs. It describes in detail how a local system of cross-group relations expressed as a ritual system became a model for later Kachin ethno-nationalist ideological expansion influenced by these administrative changes.

This chapter considers the impact of World War II on the Kachin region. It examines evidence for the motivations of Kachin volunteers during the war in the Kachin Levies and other organisations. It examines the demographics of this conflict and its impact on the development of politicised Kachin youth groups. It discusses their role in developing political strategy for Kachin State in the Union of Burma at the Panglong Conference and Frontier Areas Committee of Enquiry in 1947. The chapter also looks at the developments in this region in a broader regional context to understand how related communities in Burma, India, and China interacted with each other and with their respective national governments during the early post-World War II years.

The article deals with the story of I.G. Shadrin “Bursa” as a fictionalized evidence of the writer’s education in a theological seminary. Shadrin’s story belongs to “seminary testimonies” — a kind of genre category of works that were almost not in demand by readers, since they turned out to be completely understandable only to a very narrow group of people who were closely familiar with spiritual education. Seminar certificates almost did not take root in literature, but they contain quite valuable information in the form of historical and portrait sketches. The daily life of seminarians and provincial clergy, revolutionary and protest processes among students, personal impressions of communication with teachers and the administration of the seminary are restored from a fictional text with many details and details that were usually omitted in official documents and even in the memoirs of administrative officials. As a result of an analytical comparison of two editions of Shadrin’s story “Bursa” with evidence of the era, the author of the article draws parallels between the heroes of the story and real people, and indicates the prototypes of the characters. A feature of the story “Bursa” is the tendentious denial of all the good that could be associated with seminary life. Shadrin tries not to notice the positive phenomena of the theological school, although they nevertheless manifest themselves thanks to the artistic truthfulness of the author.

This paper aims to examine the similarities between innovative companies in the Engineering and the Electrotechnical industry in the Czech Republic. The main question is whether R & D spending in companies with eco-innovation leads to a rise in turnover even in a short period of time. The paper uses the Burea Van Dijk database – Amadeus as a data source. This data source includes 186 large enterprises with information on employee’s numbers, turnover, sector affiliation and R & D expenditure. A binomial test of statistical significance was used for the comparison of the two groups of companies. The authors find that approximately one-third of enterprises record revenue slump. There was no statistically significant difference at the level of significance α = 0,05 between the shares of enterprises with eco-innovations that showed a decrease in turnover.
