Анотація:
Birsa Munda, Adivasi leader (Indigenous people) led a rebellion at the end of the 19th century against the dikus (outsiders) popularly known as Birsa Ulgulan (tumult, rebellion). The movement targeted British officials, zamindars, and missionaries. One of the immediate effects of the movement emerged in the form of protectionary legislation (Chota Nagpur Tenancy Act) and later played an influential role in the making of Jharkhand. In the contemporary social and political landscape, the presence of Birsa Munda in the form of the built environment such as statue is indelible and offers an exciting opportunity to understand the new aesthetic turn. In particular, the author investigates two statues in Jharkhand. These statues that function as “sites of memory” play a significant role in political mobilisation and vote-bank politics. It also offers a possibility to understand the relationship between the state, elites and subalterns. The paper builds upon ethnographic materials collected during the fieldwork and devices a conceptual tool of “material-memory” to offer the specific role of Birsa’s memory as medium of doing memory politics.

This paper examines effects of drinking water components, namely calcium and magnesium ions on the human body as well as it lists the main diseases that occur with prolonged use of hard water. Kostarevsky water intake is described as the only source of centralized water supply of the city. The paper contains data of ecological monitoring of drinking water taken from Kostarevsky water intake in Birsk from 2015 to 2017. The authors compare drinking water in Birsk and some other cities of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The chemical composition of the water was determined by titrimetric, gravimetric, colorimetric, organoleptic, and microbiological methods of investigation. The results of the analysis show that the water given to the population of Birsk along the central water supply line is microbiologically favorable. The chemical composition of water almost in all respects meets the requirements of Sanitary Regulations and Standards 2.1.4.1074-01 Drinking water. Hygienic requirements for water quality. However, the analysis results show that the rigidity of the water exchange is beyond the permissible limit of the norm, which can adversely affect the health of the population. The results obtained during the work can be useful for further ecological monitoring of drinking water in Birsk, Republic of Bashkortostan.

Interest in the palynological study of deposits of the cemeteries on the territory of Southern Cis-Urals was rare. Moreover, the results of such a few works have not been published. The purpose of this study was to restore paleoecological conditions at the time of the functioning of the Bustanai burial mounds and Birsk burial ground based on the results of palynological analysis. Bustanai burial mounds, numbering 63 barrows, is a part of the Bustanai archaeological complex. The settlement included in the complex is a fortified settlement of the Bakhmutino culture of the Early Middle Ages (3–7th centuries AD). The Birsk burial ground, numbering 692 burials, is the most important site of the Early Middle Ages in the study area. In total, 15 samples were analyzed by the palynological method: 5 samples from barrow 45 at the Bustanai burial mounds and 10 samples from excavation 2 of the Birsk burial ground. The territory of the Birsk burial ground was a synanthropized edge of a coniferous-broad-leaved forest, and in the vicinity of the Bustanai burial mounds, floodplain willow forests were probably widespread. Thanks to comprehensive archaeological and palynological studies of two burial grounds and cultural layers that formed in the Early Middle Ages at a number of archaeological sites in the Southern Fore-Urals region, it was possible to establish zoning in the distribution of plant communities in this time. In the more northern regions at this time coniferous (pine) forests with an admixture of broadleaved species (Birsk settlement) and coniferous-deciduous forests (Birsk burial ground) grew. To the south (fortified settlement Ufa 2) broad-leaved and small-leaved broad-leaved forests with an admixture of conifers were widespread. In open areas, grasses, representatives of meadow forbs, and various synanthropic (ruderal and pasqual) plants grew. The climate of the Early Middle Ages was cooler and drier in the northern regions, temperate and more humid in the vicinity of Ufa. The gaps in the accumulation of palynological material discovered by us in the excavations of the Bustanai burial mounds and the Kara-Abyz settlement may also indicate a deterioration in climatic conditions within the study area in the Early Middle Ages.

This paper considers the content and peculiarities of heavy metals accumulation in the organs and tissues of fish from the Belaya River, caught in the cities of Birsk and Ufa in the Republic of Bashkortostan. To determine the content of iron, copper, cadmium and lead ions, the muscles, liver and blood of the common carp ( Cyprinus carpio L.) and common bream ( Blicca bjoerkna L.) were examined. Both species belong to herbivorous fish, but they prefer different habitats: carp is a ground fish, and the bream lives in the water column. The choice of fish species under study is related to their wide distribution in this river. Studies have shown that biogenic elements (iron, copper) are better accumulated in the fish blood, and for the other heavy metals (lead, cadmium) studied, the accumulating organ is the liver. Analysis of tissues and organs for the presence of heavy metal ions was carried out by atomic absorption spectroscopy in the laboratory of environmental monitoring of physico-chemical environment contamination in the Birsk branch of the Bashkir State University (Birsk). The results obtained can serve as a basis for monitoring the ecological state of the river water and the hydrobionts living there.

The article presents the influence of soil pH on the concentration of metals present in bee products, namely, in bee bread and honey. The pH of the soils of the territories of private apiaries in the Birsk, Burayevo, Karaidel districts and the content of heavy metals in soil, bee bread and honey were determined. It is noted that the soil of the apiary of the Birsk district is slightly alkaline. Lead and arsenic accumulate most of all in it. The soil of apiaries in Burayevo and Karaidel districts is alkaline. Copper and arsenic accumulate most of all in them. It is noticed that bee products accumulate in themselves heavy metals. Their greatest accumulation is observed in bee bread.

This paper discusses the state of the production environment at the Birsk dairy plant. Milk and dairy products are one of the main human food products, and should be safe for microbiological indicators. Monitoring of the production environment was carried out to prevent secondary contamination of food with pathogenic microflora. The main methods of microbiological control in the production of dairy products that were used for the study are described. The paper presents the results of the sanitary and hygienic state of the air environment and drinking water of centralized water supply. Microbiological industrial monitoring of air and drinking water was carried out 4 times a year in the period from November 15 2019 to July 9 2020. 6 production facilities were selected for the study. During monitoring, microbiological parameters of the air environment were determined: NMAFAM (the number of mesophilic anaerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms), mold fungi and yeast. Microbiological parameters were determined in drinking water: total microbial number, total coliform bacteria, and thermotolerant coliform bacteria. The results of the analysis showed that the state of the production environment complies with all established norms and rules, and it is safe to produce dairy products in these conditions.

В статье рассмотрены вопросы использования арттерапевтических методов в комплексной психологической поддержке лиц пожилого и старческого возраста. Исследование проводили на базах ГБУ Комплексный центр социального обслуживания населения Бирского района и г. Бирска Республики Башкортостан и ГБУЗ РБ Поликлиника № 1 г. Уфа . Всего были обследованы 60 респондентов 60-80 лет. Анализ результатов выявил, что использование арт-терапевтической программы с постепенным обогащением и усложнением занятий стимулирует новые смысложизненные ориентации, осознание личностью наличия у себя и других психологических особенностей, позволяющих субъекту успешно функционировать в реальной действительности. The article deals with the use of art-therapeutic methods in the complex psychological support of the elderly and senile age. The study was conducted on the bases of the Comprehensive Center of Social Services for the Population of the Birsk District and the City of Birsk of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Polyclinic № 1 of Ufa, total sample was 60 respondents aged 60-80 years. The analysis of the results revealed that the use of the art therapy program with the gradual enrichment and complication of art therapy classes stimulates new life orientations, the awareness of the individual of the presence of other psychological characteristics that allow the subject to function successfully in real life.

Purpose. The publication is dedicated to the famous teacher and scientist-archeologist Tatyana Nikolaevna Troitskaya (1925–2018). The purpose of this work is to supplement her biography with information relating to lesser-known periods of her life and work in the Bashkortostan Republic following on from unpublished archival documents and memoirs of T. N. Troitskaya. Results. Analysis of the available sources and literature made it possible to study the time and circumstances of Tatyana Nikolaevna’s stay in the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 1941, it was the first time she was in Birsk, where she was evacuated to with her family after the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. There T. N. Troitskaya finished school and was accepted into the Birsk Pedagogical Institute, where she studied for a year and a half before re-evacuation in 1943. The second time she came to Ufa was in 1955 when she was sent to the Institute of History, Language and Literature, where she worked until 1956. T. N. Troitskaya’s research activities coincided with the beginning of systematic archaeological research in the region, making her involved in the formation of academic archaeological science in the Bashkortostan Republic. In 1955, Tatyana Nikolaevna took part in the excavations carried out by the Bashkir archaeological expedition on the territory of the Gafuri region of the Bashkortostan Republic. In the course of fieldwork, several monuments of the Kara-Abyz culture were studied there, one of which, the Mikhailovskoye settlement, was studied under the guidance of T. N. Troitskaya. The materials and results of excavations of this monument are still used by scientists studying cultural genesis and ethnic processes in the Southern Urals and in the Urals in the early Iron Age. Conclusion. Despite the fact that T. N. Troitskaya lived in Bashkortostan for a short period of her life, this time as a whole was of great importance for her life experience. Tatyana Nikolaevna herself later recalled that it was in Birsk that she realized herself as a future teacher, and in Ufa she came to understand the priority for her teaching activity over research.
