Повний текст джерелаLe problematiche ambientali relative alla potenziale presenza di composti organici clorurati, quali il tetraclorocarbonio, il cloroformio e il diclorometano, sono molto diffuse e di difficile risoluzione. Tali composti possono essere riscontrati in siti interessati, sia attualmente che nel passato, da attività di vario genere tra cui quella di produzione farmaceutica, alimentare e chimica. Sono in atto, oggigiorno, molteplici sperimentazioni finalizzate alla decontaminazione delle acque, siano esse di falda, di ruscellamento o di derivazione industriale, da tali composti. Una delle tecnologie che, negli ultimi anni, ha fornito risultati eccellenti per la decontaminazione di acque da varie tipologie di inquinanti tra cui quelli oggetto del presente lavoro, riguarda l’applicazione di barriere reattive permeabili. In particolare, gli studi riguardano la sperimentazione di materiali reattivi risultati efficaci anche per il trattamento di composti organici clorurati. La ricerca svolta si è concentrata sulla preparazione, sulla caratterizzazione e sulla sperimentazione di un materiale bimetallico reattivo a base di alluminio e rame per la decontaminazione di acque da tetraclorometano e da diclorometano. Le varie tipologie di bimetallo sono state realizzate utilizzando una soluzione di solfato di rame (uso agricolo) puro al 98.3 %, dell’idrossido di sodio in granuli e polveri di alluminio con un grado di purezza pari al 99.5% di cui sono state scelte cinque diverse classi granulometriche al fine di verificarne l’influenza sulle capacità reattive per il processo di decontaminazione. Sono stati prodotti 3 gruppi distinti di materiali Cu/Al in base sia alla quantità di polvere di alluminio utilizzata in fase di preparazione del materiale sia alla presenza o meno di processi di lavaggio del materiale post-formazione. La caratterizzazione del materiale è avvenuta attraverso analisi diffrattometriche e analisi in microscopia elettronica a scansione (SEM) che hanno permesso di individuarne la struttura e di identificarne le fasi cristalline che lo compongono. Le sperimentazioni per testare l’attività dei materiali sono state condotte in batch con acque contaminate da tetraclorometano o diclorometano a concentrazioni dell’ordine delle ppm ovvero superiori ai limiti imposti dalla Tab. 2 Allegato 5 (Tit.V) del DLgs 152/06 per le acque sotterranee. Le analisi chimiche, eseguite con un Purge and Trap interfacciato a un gascromatografo accoppiato ad uno spettrometro di massa, sono state realizzate presso i laboratori Hydrotech S.r.l. - Area Science Park, Padriciano, 99 - Trieste. La metodologia di analisi ha permesso di quantificare le percentuali di abbattimento di contaminante sia nel caso del tetraclorometano che del diclorometano e di verificare la formazione di prodotti secondari o di degradazione.
