Religious tourism serves as an attractive choice in revitalizing religious faith among people in the modern society and an economic improvement for the local society. Bali as one of world-class tourist attractions in Indonesia has been known as the land of god that indicates its religiousness. This study attempts to explore the potential of religious tourism in Bali from the perspectives of non –Hindu people. Focusing on the potentials of Islamic tourism in Bali, this study finds out that there is a high potential for non-Hindu tourism in Bali and that there is a demand for non-Hindu-friendly tourism including the availability of halal foods and decent praying facilities.

Balinese researchers such as Nordholt and Picard have extensively explored the discourse of identity formation in Balinese society from the colonial era to modern Bali. Picard, for example, considers Balinese identity to be formed through dialogic construction, namely the contact of Balinese people with their interlocutors (foreigners). But in its development, the Balinese try to construct their own identity according to the references given by the orientalists. In this study, it was found that there was a continuity of discourses with nuances of identity politics in Balinese society such as the emergence of discourse, kebalian, Ajeg Bali, efforts to legitimize Balinese language, script and traditional clothing in public spaces, and there was even a Balinese family planning movement as a counter movement against population control efforts through the national Family Planning (KB) program. The latest is the emergence of the Dresta Bali Hindu movement which seeks to restore the local Balinese variant of Hinduism. The novelty of this research is the argument that identity political discourse and movements in Balinese society are part of positioning, namely as a way for society or social groups to position or define themselves among external challenges.

Natural disasters are natural phenomenon that can occur at any time anywhere. Natural disasters negatively affects society, either through damage to property or through loss of life, environmental damage, also affect various aspects of human life, such as economic, socio-cultural, security, etc. Tourism is an industry continues to be developed in many countries in the world. Tourism as a smokeless industry is strongly influenced by various aspects, one of which is security. Disaster as part of security has a huge influence on the tourism sector. Humans feel anxious and worried about visiting destinations that are prone to disasters. It cannot be denied that Bali is highly dependent on the tourism sector. The Mount Agung eruption in 2017, which lasted until 2018, had an impact on most Balinese people, especially those working in the tourism sector. Reduced tourist arrival due to travel warnings, as well as the closure of Ngurah Rai airport for several days due to volcanic ash bursts had caused the industry in the tourism sector to experience a downturn. To reduce the impact of natural disasters, especially on the tourism sector, various efforts and cooperation from all stakeholders are needed to jointly find solutions to solve the problems arising from this disaster. This solution can be in the form of prevention / pre-disaster, preparedness and post-disaster /recovery. With the existence of concrete efforts and actions before, during and after a disaster, it is expected to create a positive image of Bali so as to create sustainable tourism without worrying for natural disasters. <p><em>The social life of the Hindu community in Bali cannot be separated from the ins and outs of work which then reflects the profession of the people who claim it. Professions in the social life of society will give birth to something called the professional group. This professional group will then have a social impact in the form of life strata in society. There is a separation between one profession and another, which then gives birth to a concept of ideas called the Catur Varṇa. In recent years there has been a widespread dualism of perspectives on the meaning of this Catur Varṇa concept. Some of them stated that this concept was a tradition passed down from generation to generation and there were also those who stated that this concept was an idea to organize the social life of Balinese people. The Catur Varṇa concept itself can be understood through literature which gives birth to a reality and facts. The concept of Catur Varṇa has been degraded due to the cognitive bias of the Balinese Hindu community in Bali in embodying the meaning of this concept. So that this concept does not give birth to social life that is more organized but instead creates a social problem that causes inequality in the body of community life. This inequality must be corrected immediately so that it does not become a tradition that has increasingly worsened the atmosphere of social life in Bali. Because today the concept of Catur Varṇa is consciously shifting meaning into a new concept that we have previously called the term Catur Wangsa.</em></p>

This study examines "Interpersonal Society between offspring of satria dalem with the community in Tohpati Village Klungkung Bali. Interpersonal Society Skill is a skill that individuals must take in interacting with individuals in interacting with other individuals or groups of individuals. Interpersonal skills are what one uses when communicating and dealing with others face to face. Society implies that society is essential for building self-concept, for survival, self-actualization, to gain happiness, avoiding stress and dependence, among others through entertaining society, and fostering relationships. Through social society can work together with community members (families, study groups, universities, village environment, city, and the country as a whole) to achieve common goals. Problems in this research: how to implement interpersonal society between offspring satria dalem with society in Tohpati Village Klungkung Bali. The purpose of this research is to know and describe interpersonal society within the community in Tohpati Village Klungkung Bali. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method, by using proportional sampling technique consisting of the family head of satria dalem with the society in Tohpati Village Klungkung Bali. The results of this study show that the people of satria dalem descent and the people who live in Tohpati Village have implemented good interpersonal society implementation including: openness, mutual support, positive behavior, empathy and equality, it is proven that all citizens are united in advancing Tohpati Village Klungkung Bali, proven human development index is increasing due to mutual trust, there is togetherness, warmth, comfort feel valued in doing their respective tasks to build the forward Tohpati Village Klungkung.

This article endeavors to explore Ajeg Bali with special emphasis on mepeed ritual in traditional village of Pakraman Sukawati in post-Bali Bombing 2002. Analysis on this study focuses on how Ajeg Bali as a discourse could prompt changes occurred in Balinese society and how they shape Balinese identity. Firstly, this study tracks the advent of Ajeg Bali discourse by comparing practices of cultural preservation by Dutch colonial and New Order regime under Soeharto. Secondly, this study also observes position of Ajeg Bali discourse and how it affects society’s efforts to “protect” Bali. Thirdly, this article emphasizes on the mepeed ritual that transformed in Sukawati post-2002 especially in the spirit of Ajeg Bali. This study is a historical research that combines historical method and taking a cultural history point of view on explaining relation between mepeed and Ajeg Bali in Sukawati.

Hak mewaris perempuan di Bali pada mulanya tidak mendapat pengakuan namun berdasarkan hasil keputusan adat terutama Keputusan Pesamuhan Agung membuka peluang bagi pewarisan bagi perempuan di Bali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kedudukan hak pewaris anak perempuan menurutahukum adat bali, dan mengapa dalam Keputusan Pesamuhan AgungaIII perempuan di Bali berhak mewaris. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kota Bali Desa Mambal dan Desa Penurungan, Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian lapangan normatif empiris dan metode penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1. Hasil Putusan Tahuna2010 perempuan Bali berhakaatas warisan berdasarkan KeputusanaPesamuanaAgung III MUDP BaliaNo. 01/Kep/PSM-3MDPBali/X/2010,15 Oktobera2010. Hasil wawancara tetua Adat bahwa Perempuan Bali berhak mewarisi guna memberikan keadilan dan mengankat derajat perempuan dalam hal waris Bali, Penanaman sikap masyarakat Bali danatidak terlalu membedakana antara laki-laki danaperempuan, masyarakat harus membukaapikiran dan menerima perempuan sebagai ahliwaris di masyarakat. Pola pikir masyarakat Bali terutama laki-laki memandang rendah para perempuan dari duluh sehingga berbagai upaya putusan yang ditempuhauntuk mengangkat derajat danaposisi perempuanaagar setara denganalaki-laki. 2. Bahwa responden yang mendukung desa mambal didominasi orang yang mendukung pesamuhan agung no.III sebanyak 31 orang. Sedangkan Desa penarungan menunjukan bahwa responden yang mendukung Pesamuhan Agung No.III adalah yakni sebanyak 35 orang. Women's inheritance rights in Bali were initially not recognized, but based on the results of customary decisions, especially the Supreme Court Decree, it opened up opportunities for inheritance for women in Bali. This study aims to determine the position of the heir rights of daughters according to Balinese customary law, and why in the Decree of the Supreme Court III, women in Bali have the right to inherit. This research was carried out in the city of Bali, Mambal Village and Penurungan Village. The research method used is the empirical normative field research method and the library research method. The results of the study show that: 1. The results of the 2010 Decision of Balinese women have the right to inheritance based on the Decision of the Grand Pesamuana III MUDP Balia No. 01/Kep/PSM-3MDPBali/X/2010, 15 Oktobera2010. The results of interviews with Indigenous elders that Balinese women have the right to inherit in order to provide justice and elevate the status of women in terms of Balinese inheritance, Planting Balinese people's attitudes and not too distinguish between men and women, society must open their minds and accept women as heirs in society. The mindset of Balinese people, especially men, has looked down on women from the beginning so that various decisions have been taken to raise the status and position of women to be equal to men. 2. That the respondents who supported the Mambal village were dominated by 31 people who supported the Great Pesamuhan No.III. Meanwhile, Penungan Village shows that the respondents who support Pesamuhan Agung No.III are as many as 35 people.

Balinese language as the mother tongue of the Balinese people is inherited and used until now. As part of the cultural treasures, the existence of the Balinese language is very important to be preserved. The Provincial Government of Bali, as the highest policy holder in the region, has also issued various legal regulations, both in the form of regional regulations and governor regulations in preserving the Balinese language. Policies from the local government certainly require support from all components of Balinese society as supporters and users of the Balinese language. In addition to the efforts carried out by the local government, the mass media in Bali have also long played a role in preserving the Balinese language, one of which is by including Balinese language rubrics in the mass media published, either in daily, weekly or monthly editions. However, the contribution of the Balinese-language mass media is felt to have received less attention from the public, including the government, so that its existence is fluctuating. Therefore, it is important to conduct a study on how the development, existence and also the supporting or inhibiting factors of maintaining the Balinese language through the Balinese language mass media. When viewed from its development, the mass media in Balinese language has been developing for a long time. The Balinese language mass media is still effective in conveying information to the public, because most Balinese people are still active in using the Balinese language. Factors supporting the existence of Balinese-language mass media in Bali include, among others, the support of the Bali provincial government in preserving the Balinese language and literature in the form of regulations in the form of governorates and local regulations; the idealism of the owners or managers of Balinese-language mass media in Bali; the development of Balinese language communities; there are universities that open Balinese language departments. This study seeks to describe the development of civil society. In the realm of political science, the role of civil society is one of the benchmarks for the development of democracy. In Indonesia, the transition period was marked by the collapse of Suharto's New Order, accompanied by the rapid growth of civil society. However, there has not been much research on the development of civil society in the local sphere. This research seeks to fill the gaps related to civil society development and democracy in the local sphere by focusing on Bali. The study used a qualitative method, particularly participant observation and interview. This study finds, first, the increasing tension between civil society actors and the state. Its shown in the state's efforts to limit the expression of civilian dissatisfaction with state policies. Second, the state's role is increasing in the life of civil society in Bali. In the context of Bali, Perda No. 4 of 2019 on Desa Adat shows recognition for indigenous peoples in Bali. The case of Bali displays the uniqueness of how the customs of the Balinese people, particularly in the civil society arena, influence the relationship with the state. It shows the inequality of power relations between the state and society. It confirms that tension between the state and civil society strengthened after policies that increased the state's intervention in civil society.

The digital age has unleashed limitless opportunities and transformed how we work, play and live. As a result, more people embrace the digital nomad lifestyle to fulfill both personal and professional goals. This research assesses the advantages and disadvantages that are associated with this lifestyle. In addition, I examine the digital nomad characteristics in Bali and how the digital nomad community in Bali supports professional development. Data were collected during a two-month field study in Bali, which is one of the world’s most popular digital nomad hubs. The findings suggest that digital nomads are predominantly millennials from advanced economies who have different academic backgrounds. Freedom is the primary advantage, while overall job satisfaction and productivity dramatically differ. Overall, members of Bali’s digital nomad community feel supported in their professional development.
Digitaliseringen har skapat oändligt många möjligheter och förändrat hur vi arbetar, umgås och lever i dagens samhälle. Det har resulterat i att allt fler provar på en livsstil som digital nomad för att uppnå både personliga och professionella mål. Den här uppsatsen analyserar fördelar och nackdelar som är förknippade med en livsstil som digital nomad. Dessutom undersöker jag vad som karaktäriserar digitala nomader på Bali och hur gemenskapen bland digitala nomader på Bali kan gynna professionell utveckling. The Hindu island of Bali is a patriarchal society and the Balinese people’s everyday tasks are woven together with their many cultural and religious rituals and actions. Bali is one of the most famous and most visited islands of the wide spread island nation of Indonesia. Here, the concept of cultural tourism is established – a concept which regards the rich Balinese culture as a tourist draw, something that motivates the Balinese people to safeguard their regional identity and culture. These strives although tends to collide with the strives towards a more gender equal society. This study investigates the role of the Balinese female journalist – both within the newsrooms and in the society in general. It is based mainly upon in-depth interviews with women journalists in Bali. The theoretical framework orbits around a gendered approach to the theory of Journalism Culture, which combines concepts such as doxa and social fields to explain the dynamic and dichotomizations within the professional field. Masculine domination theories are also used. The results of this study reveal a complex situation where the female journalists perform a challenging balance act in order to perform their very best both at work, at home and in the society.

The aim of this study is to highlight the situation for LGBT-people in Bali with regard to the political changes in the country. Firstly, the living situation for LGBT-people have been investigated and secondly the possible effects that the newly implemented anti-LGBT policies have had on LGBT-people have been examined through interviews with six informants currently living in Bali. What has been unearthed is that LGBT-people have in the past lived in a climate of relative tolerance with discretion as a caveat; as long as LGBT-identities weren’t officially proclaimed, and same-sex relations were handled discreetly, LGBT-people haven’t been burdened with discrimination and violence. Contemporary research suggests that the current political developments regarding LGBT-rights, marked by swift and sweeping changes of a radical nature, have resulted in LGBT-people in Indonesia now facing discrimination and violence - even when LGBT-people attempt to handle their sexuality with discretion. However, this research suggests that this is not the case, and that LGBT-people aren’t as greatly affected or concerned with the political developments as have been suggested by scholars. As explained, reasons for this appear to be found in how LGBT-people lead their lives with discretion, which is a recurrent theme for many LGBT-people in Indonesia. However, another reason for this can be found in the strength of the LGBT-community, which appear to refute the negative consequences of belonging to a stigmatised and marginalised group for its members. Indeed, many LGBT-people found friendship, emotional support, improved healthcare and employment through the community.

L’objectif de cette étude consistait à explorer la contradiction naissante entre d’une part, la politique de l’eau menée au Cameroun depuis l’indépendance et d’autre part, les réalités urbaines de contrôle et d’usage informels de l’eau. Les concepts de « gouvernance » et de « communauté » ont été utilisés pour analyser comment les populations affirmaient, de façon individuelle ou collective, leurs droits sur l’eau et comment de telles revendications étaient légitimées. Les concepts de « négociabilité » et de « flexibilité » ont permis de comprendre comment les droits d’utilisation et d’accès à l’eau étaient négociés et contestés en fonction de conditions changeantes. Le concept de « société civile » a été employé pour refléter le caractère multi scalaire du pouvoir et sa normalisation dans des réseaux de la vie quotidienne, régulant ainsi les pratiques et les relations sociales. Les résultats montrent l’existence d’un grand nombre d’arrangements institutionnels de niveau local qui régissent l’accès à l’eau potable dans les communautés. Les leaders traditionnels, les représentants élus et les comités de gestion des points d’eau potable tendent à se compléter dans le développement et l’application des arrangements institutionnels. The objective of this study was to explore the emerging contradiction between on the one hand, the water policy conducted in Cameroon since independence and secondly, the urban realities of “informal” water control and use on the other. The concepts of "governance" and "community" were used to analyze how people individually or collectively claimed, their water rights and how such claims were legitimized while the negotiability/flexibility and hybrid concepts were used to analyze how resource rights and access are negotiated (informal and formal) and contested in view of changing conditions. The concept of "civil society" was used to reflect the multiscale nature of power and its standardization in networks of daily life, thereby regulating the practices and social relations. Results show that there are a number of local level institutional arrangements that govern access to potable water in communities which may vary depending on the source, ownership (privately owned or communally owned) interest and the purpose for which the water will be used. Traditional leaders, “elected” leaders and the relevant water point committees tend to complement each other in developing institutional arrangements and enforcing these. The study concludes that the informality of institutions and property rights in small town water governance harbor complex socio-economic situations, which is a common feature in the three study sites (Bali, Bafou and Kumbo), where rights overlap in both time and space with a variety of different degrees of intensity being applied in the management of different water schemes. Such processes are not predictable, because of the specific characteristics of each community, and one has to deal with setbacks and conflicts

A bali, une des iles les plus densement peuplees et ou la population est restee hindoue, alors que toutes les autres iles se sont converties a l'islam, les habitants honorent quotidiennement les dieux du pantheon hindou, qui ont elu residence au sommet du gunung agung, le volcan sacre de l'ile. Les ceremonies se succedent jour apres jour, et les balinais esperent ainsi etre a l'abris d'une nouvelle eruption catastrophique, comme il s'en est produit une en 1963. Depuis des amenagements de prevention et de protection ont ete mis en place par le gouvernement indonesien, mais ils n'ont heureusement pas encore fait leurs preuves. Quant a la population elle reste relativement indifferente aux risques. La perception du danger est tres faible et n'incite donc pas les gens a s'informer et a se proteger des lahars, ces coulees de boue qui devastent tout sur leur passage, sans laisser aux villageois vivant pres des rivieres, la moindre chance de fuir. Since than, numerous means of prevention and protection have been put together by the indonesian government, but fortunately they have never had an opportunity to be used. As for the balinese, they do not perceive any hazards. Perception danger is fairly low, and then, do not incite peaople to get more information and to protect them selves from the lahar, these mud flows which destroy everything on their way, without leaving to the village people living near by the rivers, any chance to get a way. In a perfect learning society, the whole community-from corporate institutions to family units-recognizes and acts upon its responsibility to nurture and create a total learning environment that should extend throughout the lifetime of each member (Senesh, 1991). In contrast, many efforts to reform education in America focus on only one locus of education, the pre/K- 12 school Fortunately, however, some current reforms are broadening their scope. One such example is found in Ball State University's Professional Development Schools Network, which has enlarged the focus of educational renewal by including a museum as one of its official network sites. This two-part museum, Minnetrista Cultural Center and Oakhurst Gardens, brings community partnership to the focus, incrementally enlarging educational environments and experiences beyond the school classroom and toward the ideals of a learning society.The purpose of this study was to describe and understand more fully the conception, planning, and initial implementation stages of this atypical Professional Development Schools (PDS) site, Minnetrista Cultural Center and Oakhurst Gardens. This case study drew from and contributes to the literature in three areas: (a) professional development schools, (b) community education and learning societies, and (c) program planning. Data collection consisted of 23 separate interviews with 12 participants, multiple observations, and extensive document review. Data were then processed through constant comparative analysis. Findings describe more fully this particular case, detailing the conception, planning, and initial implementation of the museum's partnership with the traditional schools (university and pre/K-12) in its community.Three conclusions were derived from the major findings. First, in the conception and planning phases, relationships among individuals were of great consequence in creating and developing Minnetrista Cultural Center and Oakhurst Gardens as a PDS site. Second, in the initial implementation phase of the museum's PDS program, the museum staff struggled to define and communicate the museum's role as a PDS site. Third, these insights, among others, have implications for PDS networks and potential non-traditional PDS sites, museums interested in their educational role, and those interested in nurturing a learning society.

Absente des objets traditionnels de la sociologie de l'art, ne relevant pas de la sociologie du sport, la danse constitue un point aveugle des sciences sociales. Dans l'aridité de ce Sahel statistique, bibliographique et conceptuel, la place des danses de couple est marginale. Elles représentent pourtant une pratique culturelle fortement ancrée, largement partagée, aux multiples dimensions agissantes : mixité sexuelles, négociation des identités de genre, rituels du bal, processus de transmission, codification, fonctions sociales. . . Comme lieu de pratique stéréotypé, le bal, selon le sens commun, a connu au XXème siècle un âge d'or, un déclin et un renouveau, scansions d'un régime dont l'analyse connaissent depuis de multiples formes de résurgence (bals tango, soirées lyndi hop) et de permanence (thés dansant et dancings) qui empruntent les voies de la folklarisation. La culture du bal est l'objet d'une reconstruction intense dans une luralité de territoires, tandis que les notions de bal et de danse de couple sont instrumentalisées autant par les pouvoirs publics que par le tissu associatif pour composer de nouvelles sociabilités. A la transmission familiale s'est substitué le développement d'écoles de danse, puis, de cours dispensés par des structures polyvalentes (centres culturels) et associatives, aujourd'hui majoritaires, qui entretiennent un rapport antagoniste à l'improvisation. Absent from the traditional issues of the sociology of art, neither coming within the sociology of sports, dancing is a blind spot of social sciences. Within the dryness of a Sahel of statistics, bibliographies and concepts, couple dances are marginal. However they represent a deeply-anchored and widely-shared cultural custom with various and effective dimensiosn : mixing of sexes, negotiation of the identities of genres, ballroom rituals, transmission processes, codification, social functions. . . As a place of stereotyped practices, and according to the common sense, ballroom dancing in the 20th century went through golden age, a waining and a revival, scansions of an evolution which relativity can be revealed by analysis. Left for moribund at the begining of 70's, couple and ballroom dances have known multiple forms of resurgence (tango balls, lindy hop parties) and persistence (tea dance and dance halls) that speak through a folk craze. The ballroom dancing culture is the subject of a passionate reconstruction throughout multiple territories while the notions of ballroom dance and couple dance are used as instruments by political authorities and association networks to weave new forms of sociability. The handing down of family traditions has been substituted by the development of dance schools and the, training courses given by multi-activity and associative structures (cultural centers), today a majority, who are on conflicting terms with improvisation. A quantative survey carried out among the people who take courses reveals how multiple the representations of the dances they learn can vary

Ce travail doctoral s'intéresse au phénomène de catégorisation et de stéréotypie à l'oeuvre lorsque se joue la discrimination relative à l'appartenance ethnique au basket-ball. Dans une première phase réalisée en milieu naturel (racial stacking dans le championnat de basket-ball professionnel français), une première étude met en évidence une tendance à la surreprésentation des joueurs " blancs " au poste de meneur, considéré comme central au regard de la performance. Dans une seconde phase s'articlant autour de trois expériences, en impliquant des sujets (sportifs et non sportifs) en tant qu'entraîneurs dans un contexte expérimental, sont mis en évidence l'existence de biais de catégorisation (racial stacking), de stéréotypes (attribution de caractéristiques en adéquation avec les stéréotypes raciaux) et de discours (implication plus favorable dans les discours pour un joueur blanc que pour un joueur noir). Contrairement aux hypothèses attendues, les sujets qui appartiennent au milieu sportif mobilisent plus fortement les stéréotypes raciaux que les sujets non sportifs. Dans une troisième phase, une étude à propos du concept de centralité au basket-ball permet de déterminer que les postes de meneur de jeu et d'arrière (extérieurs) sont considérés comme plus centraux que les postes d'ailier fort et de pivot (intérieur) et le poste d'ailier comme polyvalent (à la fois central et non central). Dans une quatrième phase, nous avons mis en exergue que les biais de catégorisation et de stéréotypie peuvent être activés dans un univers virtuel dans lequel les joueurs ont des capacités équivalentes (jeu vidéo). Les effets de discrimination (favoritisme endogroupe) sont potentialisés par l'issue positive du match. Dans une cinquième phase, à travers l'accès à la nature des relations entre basketteurs blancs et basketteurs noirs, alors que de prime abord les résultats semblent mettre en évidence une discrimination positive à l'égard des basketteurs noirs, l'analyse fait apparaître un effet de survalorisation à l'avantage des basketteurs blancs (biais d'auto-favoritisme), considérés comme plus prépondérants dans leur équipe que leurs homologues noirs. Enfin, dans une dernière phase ayant pour objectif de tester les effets de la menace du stéréotype sur la performance (aspect moteur) et le discours (aspect cognitif), les résultats ne mettent pas en évidence d'effet de la menace du stéréotype. L'évaluation entraîne une amélioration de la performance chez les joueurs noirs alors qu'elle n'a pas d'effet sur les joueurs blancs. De plus, les joueurs noirs verbalisent le stéréotype comme un boost, alors que pour les joueurs blancs, il est considéré comme un frein. En conclusion, ce travail doctoral démontre l'importance d'une investigation plurielle afin d'approfondir la compréhension des phénomènes de discrimination en sport

Toute pratique sportive est dépendante d'un système de règles qui simultanément prescrivent et prohibent. Codifiées, ces règles participent de l'institutionnalisation sportive propre au sport compétitif contemporain. La modalité sportive reposant sur une pratique fédérale, en club, nous intéresse ici. Ce travail de thèse rend compte de la transmission du code du jeu, des représentations sociales des acteurs du sport - pratiquants, entraineurs, arbitres et dirigeants - ainsi que de la gestion de la norme sportive - espaces, durées, règles du jeu - par les institutions référentes. Notre recherche repose sur une approche comparative entre trois sports, distincts par leur degré d'institutionnalisation : le basket-ball, l'escalade et le paintball. Ce travail s'appuie simultanément sur l'usage des observations -séances d'entrainements en club, compétitions -, des entretiens semi-directifs (n = 52) et de la méthode des comparaisons par paires. Il en ressort une perception différenciée de l'application de la règle sportive qui dépend tout autant du niveau d'institutionnalisation - le paintball étant le moins sportifié des trois sports - que des caractéristiques de la pratique (situations sociomotrices ou psychomotrices). La transmission du code du jeu est consubstantielle à une culture en acte de la pratique alors que les représentations sociales se distinguent en fonction de la carrière sportive. La gestion de la norme repose sur des principes différenciés selon le processus de sportification de la pratique. Le basket-ball en club se joue sur un format pérenne et un terrain normalisé, ce qui n'est pas le cas du paintball où de multiples formats de jeu sont encore d'actualité. L'escalade se situe quant à elle dans un entre-deux, sommée de sélectionner une discipline au détriment des autres en vue d'une future olympisation. L'intérêt principal de cette étude réside notamment dans le fait de rendre compte de la socialisation sportive comme inductrice de la réalisation subjective des individus. Cette socialisation s'opère par le biais du rapport à l'institution qu'entretiennent les pratiquants avec la normativité sportive.
