Este trabalho discute a violência contra as mulheres nos games. Evidencia ser este um campo de tensão, pois ao mesmo tempo em que cresce a participação feminina em competições e em iniciativas do setor, crescem também as manifestações contrárias à maior presença feminina num ambiente até pouco tempo atrás predominantemente masculino. Através do levantamento de dados quantitativos, análise de conteúdo e discussão de casos como o da ativista Anita Sarkeesian e da hashtag gamergate, observamos que a violência que se manifesta nos games é reflexo de uma cultura machista presente na indústria e em parte da comunidade gamer. Por outro lado, a antipatia de uma parcela do público masculino tem contribuído para a melhor organização das mulheres de iniciativas para buscar espaço no setor e fortalecer sua presença. A psicologia da mandala tem importância na obra de Carl Gustav Jung. A partir dela, pode-se perceber até onde vão os limites dos conceitos de si-mesmo, Deus e anima mundi na teoria junguiana. Para desenvolver este tema, há nitidamente influência da gnose, alquimia, autores místicos, taoísmo chinês, yoga kundalini. Jung bebeu na fonte de diversas áreas do saber, e produziu com singularidade e originalidade o conceito de mandala. A importância não está em admirar imagens mandálicas prontas ou copiá-las. No processo de integração entre o consciente e o inconsciente, estas imagens surgem naturalmente, evidenciando integração da personalidade, amadurecimento e a busca da totalidade do ser. O ser, a partir da psicologia da mandala, é em Deus. Um Deus que está além do Deus pessoal. É a própria deidade. E, a partir dele, o si-mesmo rompe com as barreiras egóicas e se estende ao outro e ao mundo, entendido aqui como anima mundi. Tornar-se si-mesmo é tornar-se simples. É compreender a vida pelo coração.
The psychology of the mandala has its importance in the work of Carl Gustav Jung. From it, one can understand the limits of the concepts of Self, God and anima mundi in Jungian theory. To develop this theme, there were clearly influence of gnosticism, alchemy, mystical authors, chinese taoism, kundalini yoga. Jung drank from the fountain of diverse disciplines, and produced with uniqueness and originality the concept of the mandala. The importance is not to admire mandalic images or copy them. In the process of integration between the conscious and the unconscious, these images come naturally, showing integration of the personality, maturity and the pursuit of the wholeness of being. Being, from the psychology of the mandala, is in God. A God who is beyond the personal God. It is the very deity. And from it, the self breaks the egoic barriers and extends itself to the other and to the world, understood here as the anima mundi. To become the self is to find simplicity. It is to understand life by the heart.

Esta tese realiza uma aproximação entre os campos individual, tradicionalmente pensado pela psicologia clínica, e coletivo, normalmente objeto da psicologia social. Partindo da psicologia analítica inaugurada por Carl Jung (1875-1961), e principalmente da psicologia arquetípica, vertente pós-junguiana cujo principal autor é James Hillman (1926-2011), chega-se a um ponto em que esta separação não se faz necessária ou produtiva para analisar o material coletado. A ideia de anima mundi (alma do mundo), de inspiração neoplatônica, e os conceitos hillmanianos de patologizar e psicologizar (ou ver através) formam a base de sustentação da presente construção. Ademais, contribuições da sociologia e da antropologia contemporâneas compuseram a estrutura necessária para sua feitura final. O objetivo da tese é analisar problemáticas da vida na cidade contemporânea, especificamente refletidas em certas intervenções urbanas de caráter transgressivo e ilegais, feitas com tinta sobre edificações variadas, conhecidas como grafite (ou graffiti) e pichação (ou pixação), muito comuns na Grande São Paulo. Foram examinadas, sobretudo, as pixações tipicamente paulistas, notórias pelo formato conhecido como tag reto. Concluiu-se que a prática da pixação, além de expressar simbolicamente a violência da vida urbana, agencia laços de amizade e convivência fundamentais para muitos jovens e adolescentes. Tais criações estão ao mesmo tempo intimamente ligadas aos polos de uma intensidade vital, de um lado, e de destruição e morte, de outro; denunciam uma faceta sombria da metrópole, sendo representações do patologizar, movimento in extremis e próprio da alma (psique). Ao marcarem o espaço, sobretudo central e mais nobre da cidade, os grupos de pixadores, quase sempre oriundos dos bairros periféricos e pobres, promovem a possibilidade de um fazer-alma desta psique coletiva. Além disso, movimentos mais recentes dentro do universo da pixação levantaram a hipótese: ao se engajarem em protestos políticos, sem deixar de lado a agressividade e a transgressão próprias da pixação, promovem a passagem do patologizar ao ver através. Deixando mensagens legíveis em locais simbólicos, os pixadores abrem uma possibilidade de diálogo entre a consciência coletiva e a psique inconsciente, trabalhando complexos culturais relevantes de São Paulo, ligados à opressão
This thesis makes a rapprochement between the individual and collective fields the former traditionally developed by Clinical Psychology, and the latter by Social Psychology. Leaning on Carl Jungs (1875-1961) Analytical Psychology and on Archetypal Psychology, post- Jungian school whose main author is James Hillman (1926-2011), the material was analyzed without such separation, considered unnecessary and unproductive for the reflections achieved here. The idea of the anima mundi, inspired by the neo-platonic tradition, and Hillmans formulations of pathologizing and psychologizing (or seeing-through) form the basis of this construction. Moreover, contributions from contemporary Sociology and Anthropology compose the necessary bricks to its final workmanship. The object of study of the thesis is life in the contemporary city, specifically reflected on some transgressive and illegal urban interventions made with inks on varied edifications, known as graffiti and pixação, very common in the Great Sao Paulo. Above all, the paulista (from Sao Paulo) pixação, was examined: notorious by its specific calligraphy, called straight tag. It was concluded that the pixação, besides expressing symbolically the violence of urban life, promotes friendship and sociability fundamental for many adolescents and young people. Such creations are at the same time intimately connected to the poles of a vital intensity, on one hand, and destruction and death, on the other hand; they denounce a shadowy side of the metropolis, being representations of the pathologizing, a in extremis movement and particular from the soul (psyche). When the pixação activists (usually poor people from the outskirts) mark the space, mainly the center of the city and its noble areas, promote the possibility of a soul-making of such collective psyche. A hypothesis was also raised: as part of the pixação writers from Sao Paulo were recently involved in political manifests, they opened themselves up to a communication with a broader collectivity (including the metropolis inhabitants that are distant from this universe), without leaving aside aggression and transgression, both proper of the pixação. This would be a passage of the psyche from pathologizing to psychologizing in the present days. When they leave legible messages in symbolical sites of the city, the activists open a possibility of a dialogue between the collective consciousness and the unconscious psyche, working on relevant cultural complexes from Sao Paulo, connected to the oppression

This thesis is an investigation of the complex processes and relationships between the physical human performer and the technologically manufactured cyber-human counterpart. I acted as both researcher and the physical human performer, deeply engaged in the moment-to-moment creation of events unfolding within a shared virtual reality environment. As the primary instigator and activator of the cyber-human partner, I maintained a balance between the live and technological performance elements, prioritizing the production of content and meaning. By way of using practice as research, this thesis argues that in considering interactions between cyber-human and human performers, it is crucial to move beyond discussions of technology when considering interactions between cyber-humans and human performers to an analysis of emotional content, the powers of poetic imagery, the trust that is developed through sensory perception and the evocation of complex relationships. A theoretical model is constructed to describe the relationship between a cyber-human and a human performer in the five works created specifically for this thesis, which is not substantially different from that between human performers. Technological exploration allows for the observation and analysis of various relationships, furthering an expanded understanding of ‘movement as content’ beyond the electronic connection. Each of the works created for this research used new and innovative technologies, including virtual reality, multiple interactive systems, six generations of wearable computers, motion capture technology, high-end digital lighting projectors, various projection screens, smart electronically charged fabrics, multiple sensory sensitive devices and intelligent sensory charged alternative performance spaces. They were most often collaboratively created in order to augment all aspects of the performance and create the sense of community found in digital live dance performances/events. These works are identified as one continuous line of energy and discovery, each representing a slight variation on the premise that a working, caring, visceral and poetic content occurs beyond the technological tools. Consequently, a shift in the physical human’s psyche overwhelms the act of performance. Scholarship and reflection on the works have been integral to my creative process throughout. The goals of this thesis, the works created and the resulting methodologies are to investigate performance to heighten the multiple ways we experience and interact with the world. This maximizes connection and results in a highly interactive, improvisational, dynamic, non-linear, immediate, accessible, agential, reciprocal, emotional, visceral and transformative experience without boundaries between the virtual and physical for physical humans, cyborgs and cyber-humans alike.

AbstractThis chapter describes the core aspects of the land-use planning (LUP) element of the Balanced Approach (BA) by acknowledging the potential of effective LUP as one of the few anticipatory tools available to manage noise. It explores the planning shortcomings that fail to stop encroachment and, thus, the need for remedial mitigation actions such as sound insulation, compensation and buy-out. It goes on to outline core future challenges and steps to develop a better spatial understanding of noise through improved understanding of people’s soundscapes (e.g. via the ANIMA app). To illustrate how LUP challenges can be addressed, the chapter also presents case studies from Iasi Airport and on insulation campaigns, in Marseille and Heathrow respectively. It concludes with an exploration of the lessons that can be taken from LUP experience and examines how more comprehensive communication and engagement with key stakeholders underpins more effective application of planning tools.

AbstractAnnoyance and sleep disturbances due to aircraft noise represent a major burden of disease. They are considered as health effects as well as part of the causal pathway from exposure to long-term effects such as cardiovascular and metabolic diseases as well as mental disorders (e.g. depression). Both annoyance and sleep disturbance are not only determined by the noise exposure, but also to a considerable extent by non-acoustic factors. This chapter summarises the most relevant non-acoustic factors and briefly explains their mechanisms on annoyance and sleep as well as the potential to address these factors via intervention methods aiming at the reduction of adverse noise outcomes and an increase in the quality of life of airport residents. Here, the focus is on airport management measures that are considered to help improve the residents’ coping capacity. Findings from the ANIMA case studies with regard to main aspects of quality of life in airport residents around European airports are briefly reported and recommendations for a community-oriented airport management are derived.

This chapter takes key discourses of Romantic masculinity to reimagine the relationship between female friends in A Friend from England (1987) and excavates three queer nineteenth-century narratives from the text. Based on an intertextual reading of Stendhal’s Scarlet and Black, Life of Henri Brulard and On Love, the figure of the military man is produced through behaviours of energy, passion, risk, duty, strategy, romantic love, obstacles, failure, experience and innocence. The performance of the military man is staged across the adventure narrative and the rhetorical figure of hendiadys to represent protagonist Rachel Kennedy’s cross-historical lesbian desire for Heather Livingstone. Rachel’s hydrophobia brings to light a network of psychoanalytic narrative associations and homiologia (inane repetition) arcing over Freud’s ‘Fragment of an Analysis of a Case of Hysteria’ (‘Dora’) and Brookner’s novel. The figure of the analysand is sketched to emphasise a second historical formation of lesbian desire in A Friend from England. For the performance of the queer, Henry James’s The Beast in the Jungle and Oscar Wilde’s The Portrait of Dorian Gray are recruited to read Rachel’s characterisation of Michael Sandberg through the rhetorical device of preterition and the narrative of the secret.

Chapter one begins with Anita Hill, situates the study at the beginning of the 1990s (with roots in the 1980s) within the context of post-Reagan neoliberalism, and argues that Anita Hill’s testimony initiates a new phase in the history of discrediting women’s public accounts of agentic response to sexual harassment. The chapter goes on to theorize that sexual harassment offers a test case of how the social contract, based as it is in a public/private split, is confounded by the presence of women in the workplace as citizens, workers, professionals, colleagues, and sexual agents rather than objects. Finally, the chapter examines how race and gender migrated in relation to judgment about Hill’s and Thomas’s life stories and claims the purposeful use of racism and sexism in the hearings.

Анотація:

Hollywood couldn’t get enough of horse racing, which led to the establishment of a third track. However, there was an underlying reason for the creation of Hollywood Park in Inglewood in 1938: anti-Semitism. Jews were not allowed to be members of the swank Turf Club at Santa Anita, where business deals and social contacts were made on a daily basis. Almost all the leading producers in Hollywood were Jewish, so Jack and Harry Warner mapped plans to build a racetrack of their own, with help from a large segment of the film community. Overcoming the powers that be at Santa Anita and the California Horse Racing Board was difficult, but when Hollywood Park finally opened, it was an instant success. Through the years, its board of directors included the likes of Mervyn LeRoy and Cary Grant, and it ultimately became the site of the first Breeders’ Cup in 1984. A long, slow demise led to its closing in 2013, the prime example of the twin declines of horse racing and cinema in America.

On the first day of shooting, Hitchcock referred to Strangers on a Train (1951) as “my real first film,” and the Master drew a charismatic, shoot-the-works performance from Robert Walker, who was cast against type as the colorful psychopath Bruno Anthony. But then Hitchcock was annoyed by the extensively labored-over Method acting of Montgomery Clift in I Confess (1952), a case of an actor doing too much, albeit very expressively, underneath a surface that keeps cracking because of lack of control. He also had to use the breathy Anne Baxter when he would have preferred the Swedish actress Anita Bjork.

In December of 2016 the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s proposal to amend the Health of Animals Regulations was made public. Among the changes proposed is a reduction in the maximum amount of time animals can be transported without food or water. The timing of this proposal coincides with an on-going court case in Ontario that has come to be known as the ‘pig trial’. Anita Krajnc, an animal rights activist with Toronto Pig Save, has been charged with criminal mischief for providing water to pigs on a truck en route to slaughter. This chapter examines the Krajnc case and the newly proposed regulations from a green criminological perspective, and delves into the debate over what constitutes a food crime in the context of livestock transportation.

The introduction situates this book’s contribution to the field of literary, theoretical, and cultural studies of masochism. The introduction contextualizes previous critical and historical methodologies by examining case studies by sexologists including Richard von Krafft-Ebing, Havelock Ellis, Albert Eulenburg, and Magnus Hirschfeld; psychoanalytical approaches to masochism from Sigmund Freud, Marie Bonaparte, Jessica Benjamin, and Juliet Mitchell; more modern theoretical texts including works by Gilles Deleuze, Anita Phillips, Slavoj Žižek; and specifically intersectional approaches that consider queerness and gender by Leo Bersani, Paula Caplan, Jack Halberstam, and Amber Jamilla Musser. This chapter sets up the core conflict at the center of Ordinary Masochisms: a pseudo-scientific, roundly negative consideration of masochism countered by a collection of unexpected, active, and empowering literary representations of masochism.

Evangelicalism has long provided American culture with the vocabulary through which to talk about sex and who can appropriately engage in it. This chapter briefly discusses six general presumptions of evangelical thinking about sex, gender, and race inspired by feminist theorist Gayle Rubin; these elements help frame specific excerpts of evangelical marriage and sexual advice literature, which naturalize hypersexual men and their passively sexual women. The chapter discusses the substantial racial subtexts at work in these excerpts that tacitly connect whiteness (and white sexuality, in particular) with moral virtue, and describes how these have become American ideals. To see these ideals at work, a case study compares the scandals of Anita Hill (versus Clarence Thomas) and Paula Jones (versus Bill Clinton). Both Hill and Jones were deemed sexual failures by the American public according to the evangelical standards for female sexuality that were used to define their credibility.

This chapter examines how Anita Ekberg in the American press and media was apprehended and constructed as a new Swedish star in Hollywood, and how notions and ideas about Sweden, sexuality, gender and stereotypes were negotiated and reproduced. This analysis also addresses the Swedish reception and construction of Ekberg, arguably more derogative and verging on harassment. Ekberg was one of the most famous blonde bombshells in Hollywood during the 1950s. Besides making films she became known as a model and pin-up girl which was an important way to fame during the fifties in the USA, and she was a staple in the magazines concerning her sometimes scandalous stories. She came to a United States permeated with discussions about sexuality and to a popular culture that favored sex, breasts and voluptuous female bodies more than anything else. The chapter thus investigates how Swedish sexuality and Swedish blonde were created, propagated and circulated in American cultural discourse.

Erdei Abstract The focus of our research is labor market integration and the related issues like learning motivation, value choices, health status, family formation and work attitudes. The research took place in the North Great Plain Region – Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, Nyíregyháza, Nyíregyháza region, Debrecen, Cigánd district (exception), we used the Debrecen and the national database of the Graduate Tracking System. Target groups: 18-70 year-old age group, women and women raising young children, 15-29 year-old young age group, high school students (graduate ones) fresh university graduates. The theorethical frameworks of the precariate research is characterized by a multi-disciplinar approach, as this topic has sociological, economic, psychological, pedagogical, legal and health aspects. Our aim is to show whether There is relevance between the phenomenon of precariate and labor market disadvantage and how individual insecurity factors affect a person’s presence in the labor market. How the uncertainties in the workplace appear in different regions and social groups by expanding the theoretical framework.According to Standing precariate is typical to low gualified people. But I would like to see if it also typical to highly qualifiled young graduates with favourable conditions.It is possible or worth looking for a way out of the precarious lifestyle (often caused by objective reasons) by combining and using management and education.Are there definite features in the subjective state of health of groups with classic precariate characteristics? Results The research results demonstrate that the precarious characteristics can be extended, they are multi-dimensional.The personal and regional risk factors of labor market exclusion can develop both in different regions and social groups. Precarized groups cannot be connected exclusively to disadvantaged social groups, my research has shown that precarious characteristics may also appear, and the process of precarization may also start among highly qualified people. Precariate is a kind of subjective and collective crisis. Its depth largely depends on the economic environment, the economic and social policy, and the strategy and cultural conditions of the region. The results show, that the subjective health of classical precar groups is worse than the others.

Adanya situasi yang tidak dapat diprediksi seperti pandemi saat ini, sangat berpengaruh terhadap keadaan ekonomi dan bisnis di Indonesia tidak terkecuali retail salah satunya PT. Lotte Shopping Indonesia yang mengalami adanya penurunan daya beli pasar. Hal tersebut menjadi pertimbangan penting bagi perusahaan dalam mengelola strategi bisnisnya kedepan, salah satu cara untuk dapat bertahan disituasi ini adalah dengan penerapan digitalisasi bisnis, yaitu perencanaan strategi sistem dan teknolgi informasi yang selaras dengan strategi bisnisnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Mengidentifikasi keadaan dan strategi bisnis perusahaan. 2) Mengidentifikasi penerapan sistem dan teknologi informasinya. 3) Memberikan sebuah pertimbangan atau rekomendasi bagi perusahaan dalam pengembangan sistem dan teknologi informasi kedepannya sehingga dapat meningkatkan proses bisnis dan keunggulan kompetitif bagi perusahaan. Untuk dapat mengoptimalkan perencanaan strategi sistem dan teknologi informasi yang selaras dengan strategi bisnis dilakukan suatu analisis dengan metode Anita Cassidy yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu visioning, analysis, direction dan recommendation. Sementara sumber data yang digunakan adalah data-data primer yang pengumpulan datanya peroleh dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan kuesioner. Hasil dari analisis ini adalah keadaan serta penerapan strategi bisnis yang dilakukan oleh PT. Lotte Shopping Indonesia sudah baik, dibuktikan dengan nilai IFAS 2,30 dan EFAS 0,57 yang menandakan bahwa organisasi dalam keadaan cukup prima. Diperoleh 8 kebutuhan sistem yang menjadi sebuah rekomendasi dalam mendukung proses bisnis, 3 sistem baru yang harus dikembangkan dan 5 sistem yang perlu diperbaharui oleh PT. Lotte Shopping Indonesia. Dari investasi pengembangan sistem tersebut diperoleh Return On Investment sebesar 7,15%.
