Zgodnie z dwiema najpopularniejszymi teoriami filozoficznymi poznanie relacji przyczynowej można sprowadzić do (1) zbadania mechanizmów zachodzących pomiędzy zmiennymi (jak mówią zwolennicy realizmu przyczynowego) lub (2) analizy korelacji zachodzącej pomiędzy zmiennymi (za czym opowiadają się filozofowie kontynuujący tradycję Hume’a). W badaniach zastosowano obie metody w celu odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy istnieje relacja przyczyna – skutek pomiędzy wymiarem kultury indywidualizm-wspólnotowość oraz tempem rozwoju ekonomicznego. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że zorientowanie społeczeństwa na wspólnoty powoduje szybszy wzrost gospodarczy.

Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie: czy istnieje ściślejszy związek między opisowością tekstu literackiego a jego ilustrowaniem, przy czym zostaje ono zadane z perspektywy redaktora, któremu w udziale przypadło wydanie utworu literackiego i w związku z tym musi podjąć decyzję o wyposażeniu go w warstwę plastyczną lub o zaniechaniu takiego działania. Przywołując przykłady ilustrowanych wydań utworów między innymi Stanisława Lema, Elizy Orzeszkowej czy Adama Mickiewicza, autorzy pokazują, że za decyzją o ilustrowaniu (lub nie) stało wiele różnych czynników od estetycznych, przez wręcz patriotyczne, dydaktyczne, aż po technologiczne i ekonomiczne.

The objective of this research is to observe the relations of the LMX leadership model towards the organizational commitment, mediating by the organizational justice and job satisfaction.This research was used survey method, and the respondents are 100 school teachers from public and private high school in Jakarta, selected purposively. The measurement device of the research variable are: LMX leadership measured by the relationship quality, and organizational justice refers to Adam J stacy (1965), Job satisfaction measured using Minnesota Questionnaire and Organizational Commitment measured using Mowday 15 items instruments. All items measured using 5 points likert scale, Using Structural Equation Models was used to test the hypothesis support by Amos 4.01.This research found there is positive relationship between : Leadership towards Organizational Justice, Organizational Justice towards Job Satisfáction, COrganizational Justice towards Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction towards Orgnizational Commitment and statistically observe that there is no significant relationship Leadership towards Organizational Commitment.From this reality, showed that in LMX, leadership does not directly promote the organizational Commitment, Organizational Justice and Job Satisfaction should be created first, which are perceived as the outcomes of LMX .Therefore, Organizational Justice and Job Satisfaction existed as the intervening variable.Implications. To whom used LMX model in leadership, the leader have to create Job Satisfaction and Organizational Justice to show Organizational Commitment to his employe. Advisable to make some research to whom uşed ,Transformational model by respondent an employee who works in business field. From that research are Job Satisfaction and Organizational Justice in organization was still intervening variable.

A study about the polyphonic aspect of The Lusiads. An epic poem in Portuguese Language written by Lu?s de Cam?es, that narrates the adventure of the journey of Vasco da Gama in the discoverer of new shipping lanes for the ?ndias. Secondarily, tells the historics battles engaged during the process of foundation and consolidation of the Portuguese Empire. The object of the study are the diverse speeches that compose the poem s narration, aiming at to the possible aesthetic relation of the epic poetry of Cam?es with the novelistic prose developed in the modernity, starting with D. Quijote and consacrating it at polyphonic novels written by Dostoi?vski. The sdudy focuses the singularity of Cam?es lies in the elaboration of a narrative structurally epic, but at the same time contains several deviating speeches. Such speeches emphasize the multiple planes and multiple voices (characteristics of novelistic prose) without, however, prejudice the interlinking logical-formal epos, resulting in the monological finish conventional of the epic gender. This feature characterizes The Lusiads as monological literary work, but also shows dialogism and plurilinguism, essentials to the polyphonic phenomenon. Another prominent aspect of the poetry of Cam?es is the relative procedure to the expressiveness of the characters. They are, in the majority, rhetorical creations, which assume, in the speech, human or myhtological characteristics. Stratagem that permits to the poet to emit a multiple faces of vision of the facts told. The analysis of the speeches supports-itself entirely in the polyphonic theory of Mikhail Bakhtin, shall be cited, accessory, viewpoints of others theoretical, as long if it is judged compatible with the theory adopted
Estudo sobre o aspecto polif?nico d Os Lus?adas. Poema ?pico escrito em L?ngua Portuguesa por Lu?s de Cam?es, cujo tema central ? a aventura da viagem de Vasco da Gama no descobrimento de novas rotas mar?timas para as ?ndias, narrando, secundariamente, as batalhas hist?ricas travadas no percurso da forma??o e consolida??o do Imp?rio Portugu?s. O objeto do estudo s?o os diversos discursos que comp?em a narra??o do poema, examinando a poss?vel rela??o de influ?ncia est?tica entre a poesia ?pica camoniana e a prosa romanesca que se desenvolve na modernidade, a partir de D. Quixote, consagrando-se nos romances polif?nicos de Dostoi?vski. O estudo enfoca a singularidade de Cam?es na elabora??o de uma narrativa estruturalmente ?pica, mas que ao mesmo tempo engloba v?rios discursos desviantes (excursos). Discursos esses que revelam a multiplanaridade e a plurivocaliza??o (caracter?sticas da prosa romanesca) sem, contudo, prejudicar o encadeamento l?gico-formal da epopeia, resultando no acabamento monol?gico can?nico do g?nero ?pico. Este aspecto caracteriza Os Lus?adas como uma obra monol?gica, conforme o c?none de ent?o, mas que deixa transparecer tra?os de dialogismo e de plurilinguismo essenciais ao fen?meno polif?nico. Outro aspecto relevante da po?tica camoniana, ressaltado no presente estudo, ? o procedimento relativo ? expressividade das personagens. As personagens-narradoras do poema s?o, na maioria, cria??es discursivas ou ret?ricas, as quais assumem, no discurso, caracter?sticas humanas ou mitol?gicas. The Lusiads is an epic poem, written by Lu?s de Cam?es, about the adventure of Vasco da Gama s trip and the history of Portugal. It's based on traditionals epics from the Greek and Roman poets, Homero and Virg?lio. Cam?es followes especially their structures. However, the poet insert modifications that divert his poem from parameters established by Arist?teles for the classic epic poems. These deviations are centered mainly on the narrative subject and in the point of view. We intend to show an analysis focused on digressions from The Lusiads, in which the author, himself or by tellers characters, narrates the story in order to make his complaints, reflections and exhortations. Besides, we present general aspects of Maneirismo predominant in these digressions how evidences of modernity of the poem; as one brief outlook about the poem's projection in time and around the world. These points are importants elements of consolidation of a universal permanence of The Lusiads. That's why they have had to read and to study by the centuries, according the vision of the epoch's spirit
Os Lus?adas, de Lu?s de Cam?es, s?o um poema ?pico, sobre a aventura da viagem de Vasco da Gama e hist?ria de Portugal, concebido com base nas epop?ias tradicionais dos poetas greco-romanos Homero e Virg?lio. Cam?es segue os modelos ?picos tradicionais, especialmente quanto ? estrutura. Entretanto, insere inova??es que desviam sua obra dos paradigmas do g?nero cl?ssico postulados por Arist?teles. Esses desvios se d?o principalmente pelas freq?entes irrup??es de elementos pr?prios da poesia l?rica na mat?ria ?pica, o que possibilita a participa??o do autor na obra, tanto no plano da enuncia??o, quanto no plano do enunciado, assim como a inser??o dos acontecimentos de seu presente hist?rico na narrativa, em contradi??o com as epop?ias tradicionais, cuja principal caracter?stica ? o distanciamento imensur?vel entre o tempo da narra??o e o tempo dos acontecimentos narrados. Este trabalho apresenta uma an?lise dos excursos, digress?es atrav?s das quais Cam?es assume a narra??o em primeira pessoa ou atrav?s de personagens-narradoras, para exprimir suas cr?ticas e exorta??es, queixas pessoais e sociais, e reflex?es existenciais. Alkyl polyethoxylates are surfactants widely used in vastly different fields, from oil exploitation to pharmaceutical applications. One of the most interesting characteristics of these surfactants is their ability to form micellar systems with specific geometry, the so-called wormlike micelle. In this work, microemulsions with three distinct compositions (C/T = 40 %, 30 % and 25 %) was used with contain UNITOL / butanol / water / xylene, cosurfactant / surfactante (C/S) ratio equal to 0,5. The microemulsion was characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS), capillary viscometry, torque rheometry and surface tensiometry experiments carried out with systems based on xylene, water, butanol (cosurfactant) and nonaethyleneglycolmonododecyl ether (surfactant), with fixed surfactant:cosurfactant:oil composition (with and without oil phase) and varying the overall concentration of the microemulsion. The results showed that a transition from wormlike micelles to nanodrops was characterized by maximum relative viscosity (depending on how relative viscosity was defined), which was connected to maximum effective diameter, determined by DLS. Surface tension suggested that adsorption at the air water interface had a Langmuir character and that the limiting value of the surfactant surface excess was independent of the presence of cosurfactant and xylene. The results of the solubilization of oil sludge and oil recovery with the microemulsion: C/S = 40%, 30% and 25% proved to be quite effective in solubilization of oil sludge, with the percentage of solubilization (%solubilization) as high as 92.37% and enhanced oil recovery rates up to 90.22% for the point with the highest concentration of active material (surfactant), that is, 40%.
Os tensoativos alquil-polietoxilados s?o amplamente utilizados em diferentes campos, desde a explota??o de petr?leo at? aplica??es na ind?stria farmac?utica. Uma das caracter?sticas mais interessantes destes tensoativos ? a sua capacidade de formar sistemas micelares que apresentam uma geometria micelar espec?fica, a chamada micela wormlike, tipo verme . Neste trabalho, foram utilizados tr?s pontos de microemuls?o: C/T = 40 %, C/T = 30 % e C/T = 25 % num sistema contendo UNITOL/xileno/butanol/?gua. Esses pontos de microemuls?o foram caracterizados por espalhamento de luz din?mico (DLS), viscosimetria capilar, reometria de torque e tens?o superficial com composi??es de tensoativo, cotensoativo e ?leo fixo - 5 % (com e sem fase ?leo) e variando a concentra??o total dos pontos de microemuls?o. Os resultados mostraram que a transi??o da geometria de micela wormlike para nanogotas poderia ser caracterizada por um m?ximo na viscosidade relativa (dependendo de como a viscosidade foi definida), que foi vinculado a um m?ximo de di?metro efetivo, determinada por DLS. A tens?o superficial sugeriu que a adsor??o na interface ?gua/ar tinha um car?ter de Langmuir, o limite de excesso da superf?cie do tensoativo ? independente da presen?a de cotensoativo e do xileno, e que o valor limite do excesso superficial foi independente da presen?a de cotensoativo e xileno. Os resultados da solubiliza??o da borra de petr?leo e da recupera??o avan?ada de petr?leo com os pontos de microemuls?o C/T = 40 %, C/T = 30 % e C/T = 25 %, se mostraram bastante eficaz com solubiliza??o da borra de petr?leo, com porcentagem de solubiliza??o (% solubiliza??o) at? 92,37 %, e recupera??o avan?ada de petr?leo de at? 90,22 % para o ponto que apresenta maior concentra??o de mat?ria ativa (tensoativo), ou seja, C/T = 40 %.

"Entusiasmo e Rivoluzione. Il caso Adam Lux" è il frutto di un’intensa riflessione da noi condotta nel corso degli ultimi anni, a partire dalla stesura della tesi magistrale in Letteratura tedesca (Viaggio in Italia e romanzo. Goethe e Sade) fino alle più recenti esperienze estere (Francia e Germania). La nostra predisposizione a intrecciare la passione per la cultura del Settecento con l’analisi dei fenomeni politici, sociali e antropologici del moderno e del contemporaneo raggiunge qui un alto livello di pragmatica maturità. Il lavoro è incentrato sulla figura, pressoché inedita, di Adam Lux, giacobino tedesco nato a Magonza nel 1765 e morto a Parigi nel novembre del 1793 in piena temperie rivoluzionaria, personaggio storico “liminare”, teso cioè tra un codice esistenziale pienamente premoderno (una formazione illuministica mista alla tradizione cristiana) e i nuovi modelli ontologici della modernità. La scelta di interrogarsi su un attore minore della storia non è stata casuale: il fatto di aver analizzato i testi filosofici e politici di una figura “assolutamente non-eccezionale” come quella di Lux rende ancora più emblematico un particolare ethos che ha interessato, pur con le dovute eccezioni, l’intera epoca rivoluzionaria. Questo sentimento generale è stato da noi individuato nell’entusiasmo, categoria filosofica e politica di lunga tradizione. È proprio all’entusiasmo che è dedicata la prima parte della tesi. Dopo una ricognizione storica dei dibattiti sorti intorno ad esso, abbiamo concentrato il nostro sguardo sull’evoluzione del concetto avvenuta nell’opera di Shaftesbury. È nell’autore inglese che abbiamo così rilevato un’importante cesura epistemologica che avrebbe influenzato fortemente l’epoca dei Lumi. Attraverso lo studio dell’influenza esercitata dall’entusiasmo shaftesburiano sulla cultura francese (Diderot, Rousseau) e tedesca (Leibniz, Wieland), abbiamo proceduto con l’analisi della tesi dottorale di Adam Lux, Enthusiasmus del 1784, da noi riscoperta e tradotta dal latino: l’operazione di inquadramento dell’Enthusiasmus nell’ampio contesto culturale dell’Europa del secondo Settecento apre nuove prospettive storiografiche riguardo l’importanza della pluralità di influenze per le mentalità dei futuri sostenitori della Rivoluzione francese. Il concetto di transfert culturale si fa infatti fondamentale strumento per comprendere il percorso intellettuale delle generazioni di secondo Settecento e le suggestioni letterarie sorte da esse. È così che nella seconda sezione del lavoro, abbiamo ricostruito, grazie ad un’approfondita ricerca negli archivi tedeschi e francesi, il contesto pedagogico, culturale e politico in cui Adam Lux è cresciuto. Dopo la riflessione filosofica, dunque, è stata la ricerca d’archivio e storica a imporsi nell’indagine. I numerosi documenti, atti politici e lettere manoscritte rinvenuti sono serviti a delineare la cornice dentro la quale si sarebbe formata la mentalità politica del giovane magontino. L’approccio “quantitativo-sociologico” della scuola degli Annales è stato così aggiornato con l’integrazione dei più recenti studi sull’immaginario politico e filosofico legato alla Rivoluzione francese. L’ultima sezione è incentrata sull’analisi degli scritti politici (per lo più pamphlettistici) di Adam Lux. Il peculiare cortocircuito ideologico messo in risalto all’interno di essi e nelle ritrovate testimonianze dei compagni di Lux si fa metonimia di un movimento dialettico che dall’entusiasmo universale e teleologico concettualizzato nella tesi giovanile di Lux ha cambiato radicalmente i suoi connotati verso un sentimento spirituale e lirico che richiama certi tratti tipici della prima stagione romantica europea. Si è allora approfondito questa linea interpretativa nell’analisi del panegirico luxiano Charlotte Corday e nelle conclusioni, pagine dedicate ad alcuni celebri personaggi della Frühromantik tedesca. Il riscontro, in quest’ultimi, di certi temi esistenziali sorti dalla biografia di Adam Lux avvalora la nostra tesi che intende, da un lato, ritrovare in Lux temi e motivi intellettuali e politici di un’epoca di rottura e, dall’altro, riscoprire e mettere in risalto il valore dello studio delle generazioni prerivoluzionarie per comprendere meglio non solo la Rivoluzione francese stessa, ma anche e soprattutto la letteratura e la cultura di cui son figlie.

Smart assistive devices for blind and visually impaired (B&VI) people are of high interest today since wearable IoT hardware became available for a wide range of users. In the first project, the Raspberry Pi 3 B board measures a distance to the nearest obstacle via ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and recognizes human faces by Pi camera, OpenCV library, and Adam Geitgey module. Objects are found by Bluetooth devices of classes 1-3 and iBeacons. Intelligent eHealth agents cooperate with one another in a smart city mesh network via MQTT and BLE protocols. In the second project, B&VIs are supported to play golf. Golf flagsticks have sound marking devices with a buzzer, NodeMcu Lua ESP8266 ESP-12 WiFi board, and WiFi remote control. In the third project, an assistive device supports the orientation of B&VIs by measuring the distance to obstacles via Arduino Uno and HC-SR04. The distance is pronounced through headphones. In the fourth project, the soft-/hardware complex uses Raspberry Pi 3 B and Bytereal iBeacon fingerprinting to uniquely identify the B&VI location at industrial facilities.

This chapter examines the birth of laissez faire liberalism. Laissez faire, a term taken from a phrase in French ‘laissez Faire et Laissez passer, le monde va de lui meme’, translates as ‘let do and let pass, the world goes on by itself’. Achieving this required that impediments to market forces such as laws and customs of providing welfare for the poor, which had operated for centuries, should be swept aside and that massive changes be made to how society was organised. The chapter discusses sociologist Max Weber's argument that capitalism was the product of a specifically new mindset and that ideological support for this as an economic system could be traced to shifts in religious beliefs and practices. Weber believes that the Puritan rules of Calvinism placed strict controls on individual behaviour that fostered the emergence of a distinctly new economic order. Unlike previous kinds of Christian ascetics who sought to withdraw from the material world, Puritans regarded work as a spiritual calling. The discussion also covers how R.H. Tawney focused on the intersections between religious and business ethics with respect to practices and prescriptions relating to usury. Then it sheds light on Adam Smith's analysis of the division of labour and his economic theory which held that individuals acted selfishly in the pursuit of their interests and in doing so contributed to the greater good. Next, it tackles Reverend Joseph Townsend's and Thomas Malthus' views on charity and population growth, respectively, in relation to mass hunger and starvation.

The principles on which all modern computing machines are based were enunciated more than a hundred years ago by a Cambridge mathematician named Charles Babbage.’ So declared Vivian Bowden—in charge of sales of the Ferranti Mark I computer— in 1953.1 This chapter is about historical origins. It identifies core ideas in Turing’s work on computing, embodied in the realisation of the modern computer. These ideas are traced back to their emergence in the 19th century where they are explicit in the work of Babbage and Ada Lovelace. Mechanical process, algorithms, computation as systematic method, and the relationship between halting and solvability are part of an unexpected congruence between the pre-history of electronic computing and the modern age. The chapter concludes with a consideration of whether Turing was aware of these origins and, if so, the extent—if any—to which he may have been influenced by them. Computing is widely seen as a gift of the modern age. The huge growth in computing coincided with, and was fuelled by, developments in electronics, a phenomenon decidedly of our own times. Alan Turing’s earliest work on automatic computation coincided with the dawn of the electronic age, the late 1930s, and his name is an inseparable part of the narrative of the pioneering era of automatic computing that unfolded. Identifying computing with the electronic age has had the effect of eradicating pre-history. It is as though the modern era with its rampant achievements stands alone and separate from the computational devices and aids that pre-date it. In the 18th century lex continui in natura proclaimed that nature had no discontinuities, and we tend to view historical causation in the same way. Discontinuities in history are uncomfortable: they offend against gradualism, or at least against the idea of the irreducible interconnectedness of events. The central assertion of this chapter is that core ideas evidenced in modern computing, ideas with which Turing is closely associated, emerged explicitly in the 19th century, a hundred years earlier than is commonly credited.

A pesquisa tem como objetivo examinar o conceito de mito das perspectivas psicológicas e estruturais de Carl Jung e Lévi-Strauss, com as reflexões filosóficas de Maurice Merleau-Ponty e Martin Heidegger sobre a fenomenologia e discussões em torno do conceito ocidental da luz simbólica e críticas à postura instrumentalista da tecnologia. A pesquisa argumenta que a criação de mitos é uma forma necessária de tecnologia social, que pode transformar a experiência em valores altruístas a serem realizados no futuro, movidos pelo poder saciável da sabedoria e do conhecimento. Para desenvolver ainda mais essa tecnologia. A pesquisa visita a xamanologia e a fórmula mítica canônica de Lévi-Strauss a respeito da discussão que falta sobre a experiência psicológica e a comunidade. Do ponto de vista do profissional, a pesquisa também desafia a crise epistemológica do dualismo, buscando uma compreensão sistêmica do mito e da criação de mitos, usando os mais recentes métodos aplicados de gestão organizacional sustentável de Joseph M. Coll. A revisão contextual eventualmente levanta a hipótese de uma nova metodologia para a criação de mitos contemporânea, a bricolagem taoísta com um enfoque técnico específico na produção cinematográfica ensaísta. Este projeto conduzido pela prática implica uma jornada de metáforas e significantes relativos à minha história pessoal e experiência. Como um imigrante de primeira geração da Nova Zelândia, originalmente nascido em uma pequena cidade de mineração de carvão no Leste da Mongólia Interior, China, meu autoposicionamento é essencial para o processo de construção de mitos. Com pensamento sistêmico e uma metodologia hipotética, a pesquisa avalia a produção cinematográfica como uma organização de crescimento orgânico, que conta com múltiplas restrições criativas, e fluxos de trabalho algorítmicos, que servem ao estabelecimento estrutural das unidades míticas básicas necessárias. Pragmaticamente, a pesquisa estuda profissionais do cinema como Chris Marker e Adam Curtis e músicos como Elysia Crampton Chuquimia e Howie Lee para explorar criativamente as questões técnicas e teóricas do cinema ensaísta, reexaminando a História e a experiência de uma maneira socialmente consciente. Dando as boas-vindas à minha origem da cultura manchu e chinesa da Mongólia Interior e à complexidade da minha infância, a prática de design se concentrará no processo de crescimento de uma narrativa mitopoética contemporânea específica. Isto leva para um xamã briquete e um deus renascido nas costas de Bixi 赑 赑, um dragão-tartaruga que gosta de nadar no meio do nada, enquanto carrega montanhas nas costas. Este mito pessoal observa e resolve conscientemente o self no cenário da crise do Antropoceno. La investigación tiene como objetivo examinar el concepto de mito desde las perspectivas psicológicas y estructurales de Carl Jung y Levi Strauss, junto con los pensamientos filosóficos sobre fenomenología de Maurice Merleau-Ponty y Martin Heidegger y las discusiones en torno al concepto occidental de luz simbólica y las críticas sobre la postura instrumentalista de la tecnología. La investigación sostiene que la creación de mitos es una forma necesaria de tecnología social que puede transformar la experiencia en valores altruistas que se realizarán en el futuro, impulsados por el poder saciante de la sabiduría y el conocimiento para desarrollar aún más dicha tecnología. La investigación visita la chamanología y la fórmula del mito canónico de Levi Strauss acerca de la discusión que falta sobre la experiencia psicológica y la comunidad.
