<p>This study aimed to describe the management acceleration program in terms of planning, organizing, actuating, and monitoring learning in PL Domenico Savio Junior High School. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Subjects were principal, manager acceleration, acceleration secretary, and homeroom teacher. Results of research: Planning accelerated program in PL Domenico Savio Junior High School done by preparing teachers, finance, infrastructure, learners, curriculum, time, and high school. Learning plan covering the syllabus and lesson plan contains learning objectives, teaching materials, teaching methods, learning resources, and assessment of learning outcomes. Organization of human resources contained in the organizational structure of the school is equipped manager acceleration. Organizing accelerated learning includes the step before learning, implementation, and after learning. Teachers organize learning materials to learners’ learning time. Acceleration managers manage learning activities acceleration in school and outside of school. Actuating of accelerated program refers to the RPP and half of each subject program. Implementation of the learning stages: introduction, core activities, and cover. Monitoring the acceleration of learning is done directly by the students, parents of students, and managers acceleration. Learners and parents provide input on school. Manager acceleration control feasibility study. Principal using monitoring results into training materials for teachers. Accelerated learning assessment carried out by the teacher. Teacher evaluations are conducted by the principal and foundations. Reporting accelerated learning is done on the parents of learners.</p>

Accelerated degradation test (ADT) has been extensively applied to reliability assessment. To improve the efficiency–cost ratio of ADT, the optimal design method of ADT has become a research hot topic. An optimal design method based on acceleration factor, in which a Wiener degradation model and a step-stress ADT were considered, was proposed in the paper. In order to establish an accurate accelerated degradation model, acceleration factor constant principle was applied to derive the changing rules of Wiener process parameters with accelerated stress. Besides, the exact expression of acceleration factor was determined for a Wiener degradation model. The asymptotic variance of acceleration factor, which was considered as a measure of the consistency of failure mechanisms, was selected to be the objective function of optimal problem so as to ensure that the failure mechanism of products under accelerated stresses is probably consistent with that under the normal use stresses. A numerical example of designing an optimal ADT plan for a certain type electrical connector was studied, in which the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method were validated.

Based on the Surabaya Madura Regional Development Agency Master Plan 2010-2024, Madura Island has a strategic position as part of the Gerbangkertosusila Urban National Strategy. There is still, however, a development disparity between Madura Island and East Java. This can be seen from the economic performance of Madura Island which is quite low compared to other districts or cities in East Java Province. Madura Human Development Index (HDI) is below the East Java on average, and the percentage of poor people in Madura is the highest in East Java. Therefore, the development of Surabaya-Madura (Suramadu) must be integrated through regional development, such as development of connectivity systems. The research used descriptive analysis to assess the characteristics of a program and to adjust the characteristics with sustainable development theory that consists of three components, namely: environmental, economic, and social developments. These can ultimately be used to sharpen the development target to be achieved in the next 5 (five) years. Data were collected using secondary survey instruments through existing literature studies and policy reviews, such as National Medium-Term Development Plan 2020-2024 and Regional Medium-Term Development Plan of East Java Province.

J-PARC, the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex, is an accelerator, which provides a high-intensity proton beam. Recently as a very attractive project, the acceleration of heavy ions produced by supplementary ion sources, called J-PARC-HI, is seriously contemplated by domestic as well as international communities. The planned facility would accelerate heavy ions up to U92+ with a beam energy 20 AGeV ([see formula in PDF] of 6.2 AGeV). The highlight of the J-PARC-HI project is its very high beam rate up to ~1011 Hz, which will enable the study of very rare events. Taking advantage of this high intensity, J-PARC-HI will carry out frontier studies of new and rare observables in this energy region: (i) nuclear medium modification of chiral property of vector mesons through low-mass di-lepton signal, (ii) QCD critical pointcharacterization through event-by-event fluctuation signals of particle production, (iii) systematic measurements related to the equation of state through collective flow signal or two-particle momentum correlation signal, or (iv) the search of hyper nuclei with multi strangeness including or exceeding S = 3. The current plan of J-PARC-HI aims to carrying out the first experimental measurements in 2025.

The successfulness of executing the construction projects right on time is one of the most important goals both for the owners and contractors. In general, each construction project has a specific implementation plan and schedule of implementation. It contains some important things, for example when the project should begin, when it should be completed, and how to provide the resources. As in the development project of Public Health Center building in LarenDistrict, Lamongan Regency in 2016 which has been delayed up to six weeks, causing inaccuracy between the planningschedule anddevelopment implementation. This research aims to be used as an evaluation to get the fastest acceleration time by using cut and crashing method. From the data obtained fromthe time schedule, cost estimate plan (RAB),wage price analysis, and project materials,the next step is making the job network and determining the critical pathfor cut and crash method. The results of the study show that the project acceleration can be done up to 82 days or 7 days faster than the normal day, that is 89 days with acceleration cost of Rp. 347.935.000,00 or increased from the normal cost of Rp. 345.390.000,00. The percentage of the selected acceleration time ratio is approximately 6.02% faster than the normal time, while for the acceleration cost is approximately 0.68% greater than the normal cost. Therefore, with this research, the work actually can be completed on December 13, 2016.

Since 2000, Morocco has launched important institutional and economic reforms based on strategies to correct market failures in important sectors of the economy. These strategies have included tax exemptions and other financial incentives, facilitating access to land and simplifying administrative procedures, and launching major public infrastructure projects, all of which have combined to create a new investment dynamic in strategic sectors such as agriculture, industry, and energy. These efforts have affected many sectors: the Azur Vision 2020 plan for tourism, the Green Morocco Plan for agriculture, the Halieutis 2020 Plan for fishing, Maroc Plus Export for export, the Emergence Plan (2005) for industry followed by the National Pact for Industrial Emergence, 2009-2015 and the new Industrial Acceleration Plan, 2014-2020. For example, to support the new Industrial Acceleration Plan, the government has provided a grant, a financial support of about 2% of GDP over 6 years. The government has also offered ad hoc support to attract foreign investors in large private projects likely to generate significant positive externalities. One example is the project to set up a Renault Company plant in Tangiers, which aims to produce and export 400,000 cars per year (World Bank, 2017).This note highlights the industrial sectors that can offer the best potential for growth, attract private investors and contribute to the creation of decent jobs. It will also identify ways to accelerate investment in Morocco. These industrial investments may include purely private investments or those made with the support of international financial institutions. The note analyzes investment and sectoral integration opportunities using the input model (outputs and employment elasticity indicators), the evaluation of the industrial acceleration plan, and sets out the measures taken by the CVE to promote VSEs. Only one classic sector is selected is highlighted for their investment potential and their commitment to reform in the sectors. It is the food industry.The note follows the diagram below:1) An introduction to the economic, political and social frameworks, including key indicators 2) A sector analysis to identify one to three sectors that are likely to be the subject of accelerated investment and in which reforms will have a particularly high chance of improving the business and investment climate and having an impact on development. 3) A mapping of the most relevant initiatives, technical assistance, grants and loans, and investments by donors and other stakeholders, such as development finance institutions. In the selected sector(s).4) An analysis of the existing reform agenda in the respective sector(s) and the identification of areas where there is a high likelihood of effective cooperation to support the implementation of these reforms.

In this research, the effects of rotational components of earthquakes on seismic responses of Triple Concave Friction Pendulum (TCFP) base-isolated structures are investigated elaborately. Although it is common to ignore the influence of rotational components of earthquakes on structural analysis, this investigation demonstrates the significant effects of these components on seismic responses of isolated structures mounted on TCFP bearings. Extensive base-isolated structures models with different superstructure specifications such as slenderness and aspect ratios as well as isolation properties such as effective period and damping are investigated. Essential seismic responses such as base shear, roof acceleration, isolator displacement and base slab rotation are studied while isolated structures subjected to the translational components of earthquakes as well as the rotational and translational components of earthquakes simultaneously. The results demonstrate the sensitivity of seismic responses to the superstructure properties such as the slenderness ratio and plan aspect ratio in presence of rotational components; whereas it does not show such sensitivity to isolation properties. Generally, the roof acceleration and the base shear can be affected by the rotational components, tremendously. For instance the roof acceleration can be raised 220% in a structure when its plan length is three times more than its plan width and the base shear can be increased 33% for a 9-story building in presence of rotational components.

O Projeto Estruturador Acelerar para Vencer (PAV), implantado pela Secretaria Estadual de Educação de Minas Gerais é recente, e, portanto, as pesquisas sobre seus impactos e reflexos são ainda escassas. O PAV é um projeto que apresenta uma metodologia diferenciada baseada na aceleração da aprendizagem, com vista a corrigir a distorção idade-série. Concentrado nos alunos com mais de dois anos de distorção, o projeto conta com dois módulos: o PAV I, voltado para as séries iniciais do Ensino Fundamental e o PAV II, voltado para as séries finais do Ensino Fundamental. Este trabalho foi desenvolvido na forma de um Plano de Ação Educacional (PAE), proposto pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação Profissional em Gestão e Avaliação da Educação Pública da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. O PAE é um estudo de caso de gestão educacional que pretende analisar uma dada situação e se apresenta como uma modalidade de pesquisa inovadora em seu formato, por apresentar um plano de ação segundo o contexto e os problemas identificados. Este Plano de Ação Educacional objetiva analisar o Projeto Acelerar para Vencer, tendo como campo de estudo a gestão nos níveis regional e local de educação. Para este propósito analisamos a implementação do Projeto no cotidiano escolar de duas escolas do centro-oeste mineiro, pertencentes a diferentes Superintendências Regionais. A escolha de tais escolas se deveu ao fato de abrigarem, além do Projeto, o Ensino Médio; fato este que facilitou a verificação quantitativa do percurso escolar dos alunos oriundos do PAV que ingressaram no primeiro ano do Ensino Médio. Além disso, a escolha de duas escolas pertencentes a diferentes Superintendências Regionais foi propícia à análise de como as informações são repassadas para o nível local. A escolha das Superintendências foi motivada pelo desejo de conhecer a realidade das regionais próximas ao contexto do meu exercício profissional. A verificação quantitativa da transição dos alunos do PAV para o Ensino Médio revelou que mais da metade destes alunos evadem ou são reprovados. Este fato nos levou a buscar os dados estaduais, através do banco de dados da Diretoria de Informações Educacionais da Secretaria Estadual de Educação. A verificação dos dados estaduais apresentou resultados similares aos das escolas investigadas. Este resultado vai ao encontro da hipótese inicial da pesquisa, a saber, que apesar de resolver a distorção idade-série no ensino fundamental, o problema se transfere para o Ensino Médio, uma vez que alunos provenientes do Projeto chegam defasados em conteúdo e acabam evadindo ou sendo reprovados. Além disso, os achados contrariam os propósitos apresentados pelos textos do Projeto, cujo foco principal é a aprendizagem e a atuação dos gestores por meio da gestão pedagógica. Diante do quadro apresentado novas hipóteses e questões se configuraram, dentre elas, a dúvida acerca da implementação nas escolas analisadas, se estaria correspondendo ao que a política previa. Para responder aos novos questionamentos, partimos de uma pesquisa qualitativa, realizada através de entrevistas e questionários, com diretores, supervisores, professores e coordenadores regionais do PAV de ambas as escolas, e pudemos evidenciar problemas desde a formulação até a implantação do projeto. Isto revela, portanto, a necessidade de sua reformulação, além de outras ações que pretendam por em prática uma concepção de educação inclusiva e de qualidade, com visão de futuro, de forma que classes de aceleração não mais se façam necessárias. Esta reformulação é o que propusemos como Plano de Ação Educacional.
The Project Speed to win – Acelerar para Vencer (PAV), deployed by the State Secretariat of Education of Minas Gerais is recent, and therefore the research on impacts and reflexes are still scarce. The PAV is a project that provides a differentiated methodology based on accelerated learning, with a view to correcting the distortion age-series. Geared toward students with more than two years of distortion, the project comprises two modules, the PAV I geared toward the elementary grades and the PAV II, directed the elementary school finals series. This work was developed in the form of an Educational Action Plan (PAE), proposed by the Graduate Program in Professional management and evaluation of public education. PAE is a case study of educational management, in order to analyze a given situation and presents itself as an innovative modality in its format, to present a plan of action according to the context and the problems identified. This Educational Action Plan (PAE) aims to analyze the project, having as a field of study in management at local and regional levels of education. For this purpose, we analyze the implementation of the project in two schools of the West Centre de Minas Gerais, belonging to different regional superintendence. The choice of these schools gave because harboring beyond project, high school, the fact this that facilitated the quantitative verification of students ' schooling from the PAV that joined the first year of high school. Moreover, the choice of two schools belonging to different regional superintendences was conducive to analysis of how information is passed on to the local level. The choice of the superintendencies was motivated by the desire to know the reality of regional near the context of my professional practice. The quantitative check of students ' transition from PAV high school revealed that more than half of these students are evading or are disapproved. This fact led us to fetch the data state, through the Board's database of Educational Information of the State Secretariat of education. Data verification results similar to those presented by State schools investigated. This result goes against the search starting hypothesis, namely that although solve the distortion age-series in elementary school, the problem moves to the high school, since students coming from project content and have just come off by rerouted or being disapproved. In addition, the findings contradict the purposes presented by the project, whose main focus is learning and the role of managers by means of pedagogical management of the project. Before the table, new hypotheses and questions whether perpetrated by, among they doubt whether the implementation in schools examined would be corresponding to the policy envisaged. To respond to new questions, we start from a qualitative research, conducted through interviews and questionnaires, with directors, supervisors, teachers and regional coordinators of PAV from both schools and might show some problems involving from the formulation to the implementation of the project, revealing, therefore the need to recast, along with other actions aiming to implement a conception of inclusive education and quality, forward-thinking, so acceleration classes no longer if necessary. This reformulation is what we proposed as Educational Action Plan.

The main objective of this thesis was to analyze the Growth Acceleration Plan (PAC), in its first version (2007-2010), using as basis of information the reports made available on the program site. In this material were found several problems that prevented an evaluation, as the lack of macroeconomic data on the reflection of the program in the economy, the absence of a relation and the monitoring of all the works, the lack of identification of which were in charge of the public initiative and private, the deletion of justifications for both delays (and the judicialization, which did not appear in the reports and was also not mentioned in the thesis), as well as works that were not carried out, differences of concept between the management of the program and the Court (TCU), as well as the disagreement between the indicators prepared and the results presented, since the data provided by the government indicated that in the first version 82% of the predicted values were realized and in the second version, the result reached 99, 7%. In order to situate the program, the historical reconstruction of Lula's presidential mandates was chosen. In the first one, there was a mass occupation of party members in the ministries and the reversion of this situation, motivated by the formation of coalition presidentialism, as verified that ministerial reforms were necessary and the base of support was widened. The government had the right international scenario, favored domestic consumption, adopted targeted social policies, increased domestic debt and kept the exchange rate overvalued. In the second term, the political aspect was not addressed, on the understanding that coalition presidentialism had only been intensified. In addition, an expansionist economic policy prevailed, focused social policy and overvalued exchange rates, domestic consumption was favored, domestic debt increased, there was conviviality with deindustrialization and with an economic model different from that adopted by FHC, but favorable to the great capital
O objetivo principal dessa tese foi analisar o Plano de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC), em sua primeira versão (2007-2010), utilizando como base de informações os relatórios disponibilizados no site do programa. Nesse material foram encontrados vários problemas que impediram uma avaliação, como a falta de dados macroeconômicos sobre o reflexo do programa na economia, a ausência de uma relação e o acompanhamento de todas as obras, a falta de identificação de quais estavam a cargo da iniciativa pública e privada, a supressão de justificativas tanto para os atrasos (como a judicialização, que não apareceu nos relatórios e também não foi citada na tese), como às obras que não foram realizadas, as divergências de conceito entre a gestão do programa e o Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) e ainda a discordância dos indicadores elaborados e dos resultados apresentados, uma vez que os dados disponibilizados pelo governo apontaram que na primeira versão 82% dos valores previstos foram realizados e na segunda versão, o resultado chegou a 99,7%. Para situar o programa, optou-se pela reconstrução histórica dos mandatos presidenciais de Lula, sendo que no primeiro, houve a ocupação em massa de membros do partido nos ministérios e a reversão desse quadro, motivado pela formação do presidencialismo de coalizão, constatado à medida que as reformas ministeriais foram necessárias e a base de apoio foi ampliada. O governo contou com o cenário internacional oportuno, favoreceu o consumo interno, adotou políticas sociais focalizadas, aumentou a dívida interna e manteve o câmbio sobrevalorizado. No segundo mandato, o aspecto político não foi abordado, pelo entendimento que o presidencialismo de coalizão só fora intensificado. Além disso, prevaleceu uma política econômica expansionista, a política social focalizada e o câmbio sobrevalorizado, o consumo interno foi favorecido, a dívida interna aumentou, houve convívio com a desindustrialização e com um modelo econômico diferente do adotado por FHC, mas, favorável ao grande capital

У наш час завдання кінематичного аналізу механізмів найчастіше вирішуються графічними або аналітичними методами. З розвитком мов програмування та можливостей відповідних середовищ розробки стає можливою реалізація кінематичного аналізу плоских важільних механізмів програмними методами. Запропонована реалізація являється комбінованим графоаналітичним методом, оскільки аналітичне рішення засноване на графічних побудовах та рішенні відповідних геометричних задач. За допомогою мови програмування Processing реалізовано програмне забезпечення для кінематичного аналізу простих важільних механізмів. Nowadays, the problem of kinematic analysis of mechanisms is most often solved by graphical or analytical methods. According to the development of programming languages and the possibility of corresponding development environments, it becomes possible to implement the kinematic analysis of flat lever mechanisms using software methods. The proposed implementation is a combined graphoanalytical method, since the analytical solution is based on graphical constructions and the solution of the corresponding geometric problems. Using the programming language Processing implemented software for the kinematic analysis of simple lever mechanisms. Kinematic analysis, lever mechanism, programming language Processing.
В наше время задача кинематического анализа механизмов чаще всего решаются графическими или аналитическими методами. По развитию языков программирования и возможности соответствующих сред разработки становится возможна реализация кинематического анализа плоских рычажных механизмов программными методами. This thesis deals with economic, political and social aspects of Brazil. The first chapter characterizes Brazil as one of the developing centres of the world economy with emphasis on its geographical and demographic situation and on the political development from the period of colonization to the new millenium. It offers detailed analysis of the social problem as well. The second chapter is basically oriented to the characteristics of the brazil economy. It focuses especially on the structural reforms effectuated in the nineties and on the "Real Plan". The next part of the chapter deals with the description of che basic economic profile and the financial sphere of the country and offers the evaluation of the economic development in the 2007. At the end the "Growth Acceleration Program" is presented. The last chapter analyses actual situation of the brazil foreign trade and of the investment sphere, the most perspective sectors for investments, but it points out potential risks for the investors as well. In the end this chapter tries to define perspectives of the next development of the brazil economy and it's future role in the world economy.

Plane-wave decomposition and slant stack transformation have recently gained much interest as viable routes to perform a variety of prestack processing tasks, such as velocity estimation, migration, filtering, deconvolution, and velocity inversion. To further complement the current advances, the problem of earth model parameter estimation and prestack structural imaging are addressed in this work. Unlike existing methods, the algorithms presented here make a novel and systematic use of the plane-wave domain to determine migration and interval velocities, interface dip angles and common-shot gather reflector images. To start, a method is developed to estimate migration velocities and interface dip angles in earth models composed of planar, dipping reflecting interfaces separating homogeneous layers, and where straight-ray travelpaths to the reflecting interfaces can be assumed. The method consists of transforming a common-shot gather into the plane-wave domain, where a semblance analysis search along cosinusoid trajectories is performed. Since the cosinusoid trajectories are functions of the migration velocity and interface dip angle, selection of the maximum semblance values yields the best estimates to the desired earth model parameters. To remove the straight-ray assumption of the velocity-dip analysis method, a recursive technique is developed to estimate interval velocities and interface dip angles via a ray tracing algorithm. This technique essentially generates plane-wave domain traveltimes for a range of interval velocities and interface dip angles, and computes the error between the generated and observed plane-wave traveltimes. The minimum error determines the best estimates of the earth model parameters. With the information attained in the velocity-dip analysis algorithm, a plane-wave based imaging method is developed to produce prestack common-shot gather images of the reflecting interfaces. The method consists of transforming a common-shot gather into the plane-wave domain, where a velocity-dip semblance analysis is performed. Then, the plane-wave components are downward extrapolated and recombined via a dip-incorporated inverse slant-stack transformation to produce the spherical-wave field that would have been recorded by receivers placed on the reflecting interfaces. The dip incorporation consists of redefining the angle of emergence of the plane waves. Finally, a simple mapping algorithm converts the offset and time coordinates of the reconstructed wave field to the true horizontal location and two-way vertical time of the reflection points. This results in the desired prestack migrated images of the reflecting interfaces. In this thesis, a novel algorithm to perform plane-wave decomposition via Fourier transforms is also proposed. This algorithm consists of the application of the double fast Fourier transform to the input data, followed by complex vector multiplications with essentially the Fourier representation of the Bessel function J0 . A numerical singularity is avoided by applying an analytical expression that approximately accounts for the singular point contribution. An inverse fast Fourier transform from frequency to time gives the desired plane-wave seismogram. The techniques proposed in this work have yielded encouraging results on synthetic and field data examples. The examples demonstrate, for the first time, the systematic use of the plane-wave domain in processing seismic reflection data from common-shot gather data to the plane-wave domain, to velocity and dip angle analysis and to prestack structural imaging. It is believed that the results from this work will help researchers as well as practising geophysicists to become better acquainted with plane-wave domain processing.

This thesis aims to determine the participants' satisfaction with Czech startup accelerator StartupYard and appraise the effectiveness of its functioning.

Le canal de propagation est un élément important pour la fiabilité des simulations et la conception des systèmes sans fil. Les modèles déterministes offrent un bon niveau de précision au prix d'une complexité croissante de calcul, ce qui les rend prohibitifs pour les simulateurs de réseaux de capteurs sans fil (RdC) car ils impliquent de nombreux nœuds distribués à l'échelle d’une ville. Dans ce contexte, l'objectif de cette thèse est de proposer des méthodes déterministes rapides et précises pour modéliser le comportement des ondes électromagnétiques en garantissant le juste compromis entre la précision et le temps de calcul. L’étude a d’abord été subdivisée en deux modes selon le mécanisme dominant de propagation. Dans une configuration microcellule, l'approche proposée est basée sur un modèle de lancer de rayons reposant sur la technique de la visibilité qui adopte un ensemble de techniques d'accélération pour réduire la complexité sans perte significative de la précision. Dans le même objectif, la propagation verticale a été abordée en incluant les contributions les plus significatives. Enfin, ces modèles ont été intégrés dans un simulateur de RdC pour fournir des résultats réalistes dans le contexte d'une ‘smart city’. L'impact des modèles précis dans les simulateurs est illustré par certains paramètres du réseau
Modeling the radio channel in an accurate way is a key element of any wireless systems. Deterministic models offer a good degree of precision at the cost of high computational complexity, which is prohibitive for wireless sensor network (WSN) simulators because they involve many sensor nodes in a city-wide scale. Within this context, the objective of this thesis is to propose efficient, fast, and accurate deterministic methods for modeling electromagnetic waves by finding the best time-accuracy trade-offs that guarantee accuracy under tight time constraints. The study was first subdivided into two modes according to the dominant propagation mechanism. In microcell configurations, the proposed approach is a ray-tracing model based on the visibility technique. It adopts a set of acceleration techniques to reduce the complexity with a minimal loss of precision. With the same objective, the vertical propagation was addressed to include the most significant contributions. Finally, these models were integrated into a WSN simulator to provide realistic and accurate results for smart city applications. The importance of using accurate models in WSN simulators is illustrated in terms of some network parameters

Construction Schedule Acceleration (CSA) can affect not just the time but many other project aspects. During a CSA, there can be many impacts having significant effects on the project value. Previous studies have highlighted the importance of considering quality, productivity and functionality at a CSA along with cost and time. The aim of this research is, therefore, to investigate how value can be optimised during a CSA process. A qualitative research approach was adopted. Altogether, ten semi-structured interviews were conducted. The interview data were transcribed and analysed using a manually performed content analysis. This study has revealed types of CSA based on the purpose (delay minimising purpose or non-delay minimising purpose) and the party who initiates it. Cost, quality, functionality, productivity and profitability were identified as main value considerations during a CSA other than time. Applicability of value management (VM) job plan stages and Earned Value Management (EVM) indicators during different CSA stages to optimise value were also found. Finally, these findings were mapped in a framework to show how VM and EVM concepts could be used in enhancing value during a CSA. The framework conceptualises the relationship between “value” and CSA and how it varies upon distinct parties of a construction project during different stages and types of CSA. The proposed framework can be used as a guidance for optimising the value during the stages of a CSA.

Abstract For seismic analyses of linear structural systems including soil-structure systems, the current practice (e.g., the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Standard Review Plan (SRP) (NUREG-0800 [1], “Standard Review Plan for the Review of Safety Analysis Reports for Nuclear Power Plants: LWR Edition”) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)/Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) Standard 4-16 [2], “Seismic Analysis of Safety-Related Nuclear Structures”) allows for estimating mean seismic responses by using as few as four or five input time histories. This paper examined whether this practice can achieve a stable mean response by explicitly considering the uncertainty in the Fourier phase spectra of the input time histories and exploring how this uncertainty can affect the coefficient of variation (CV) of the in-structure response spectra (ISRS). ISRS are the response spectra of the seismic response time history at a location in the structure subjected to an input seismic time history. We found that the maximum CVISRS across all frequencies is around 40% purely due to the uncertainty in the Fourier phase spectra for a typical range of design earthquakes for U.S. nuclear power plants. To estimate a mean ISRS within ±10% of the true mean ISRS, our analyses showed that this level of CVISRS may require a minimum of 16 input time histories for a confidence level (CL) of 68% and 61 for a CL of 95% for soil-structure systems of low fundamental frequencies. For stiffer systems (for example, with a fundamental frequency of 5 hertz (Hz)), the maximum CVISRS is about 30%, and thus, the minimum required number of input time histories may be reduced to 9 for a CL of 68% and 35 for a CL of 95%. In summary, the four or five time histories in the current practice may not be sufficient for estimating stable mean responses, especially for soil-structure systems with very low frequencies.

A seismic probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) is an available method to evaluate residual risk of nuclear plant that is designed with definitive seismic design condition. Seismic fragility capacity data are necessary for seismic PSA, but we don’t have sufficient data of active components of nuclear plants in Japan. This paper describes a plan of seismic fragility capacity tests on nuclear power plant equipment. The purpose of those tests is to obtain seismic fragility capacity of important equipment from a safety design point of view. And the equipment for the fragility capacity tests were selected considering effect on core damage frequency (CDF) that was evaluated by our preliminary seismic PSA. Consequently horizontal shaft pump, electric cabinets, Control Rod Drive system (CRD system) of BWR and PWR plant and vertical shaft pump were selected. The seismic fragility capacity tests are conducted from phase-1 to phase-3, and horizontal shaft pump and electric cabinets are tested on phase-1. The fragility capacity test consists of two types of tests. One is actual equipment test and another is element test. On actual equipment test, a real size model is tested with high-level seismic motion, and critical acceleration and failure mode are investigated. Regarding fragility test phase-1, we selected typical type horizontal shaft pump and electric cabinets for the actual equipment test. Those were Reactor Building Closed Cooling Water (RCW) Pump and eight kinds of electric cabinets such as relay cabinet, motor control center. On the test phase-1, maximum input acceleration for the actual equipment test is intended to be 6G-force. Since the shaking table of TADOTSU facility didn’t have capability for high acceleration, we made vibration amplifying system. In this system, amplifying device is mounted on original shaking table and it moves in synchronization with original table. The element test is conducted with many samples and critical acceleration, median and deviation are evaluated. For the element test we selected bearings and liner rings of horizontal shaft pump and about thirty kinds of electric parts. The actual equipment test of phase-1 started from September 2003, and it will finish March 2004. The test phase-2 for CRD system and phase-3 for vertical shaft pump will start following test phase-1.

For seismic analysis of nuclear structures, synthetic acceleration time histories are often required and are generated to envelop design response spectra following the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Standard Review Plan (SRP) Section 3.7.1. It has been recognized that without an additional check of the power spectral density (PSD) functions, spectral matching alone may not ensure that synthetic acceleration time histories have adequate power over the frequency range of interest. The SRP Section 3.7.1 Appendix A provides a target PSD function for the Regulatory Guide 1.60 horizontal spectral shape. For other spectral shapes, additional guidance on developing the target PSD functions compatible with the design spectra is desired. This paper presents a general procedure for the development of target PSD functions for any practical design response spectral shapes, which has been incorporated into the recent SRP 3.7.1, Revision 4.

Abstract Rayleigh-Taylor instability at a gas-water interface has been investigated experimentally. Such instability was produced by accelerating a water column down a vertical circular tube employing shock wave impact. Accelerations from 50 to 100 times gravitational acceleration with fluid depths from 125 to 250 mm were studied. The resulting instability from small amplitude random perturbations was recorded and later analyzed using high-speed video images. Cavity formation was observed in the middle of the gas-water interface soon after the shock wave impact; bubbles and spikes then developed across the rest of the interfacial plane. Measurements of the growth coefficient of the bubbles and spikes show that they are nearly constant over different runs.

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present a general overview of the Buzios field development plan, projects’ features, and main achievements so far. The development plan adopted a strategy to pursue the balance between acceleration and cash flow optimization, to maximize the return on the huge investment on the block acquisition, and the risk management related to developing several Greenfield Projects simultaneously. To reduce reservoir uncertainties, a comprehensive data acquisition plan was crafted and implemented considering: (a) seismic acquisition, (b) drilling, logging and testing several exploratory and appraisal wells, (c) massive rock and fluid data sampling along the reservoirs, (d) execution of one Extended Well Test and three Early Production Systems. Additionally, the basic design of wells, subsea systems and Floating Production Storage and Offloading ("FPSO") provided flexibility to cover remaining uncertainties yet present in the Transfer of Rights ("ToR") scope, which allows up to 3,150 billion barrels of oil equivalent ("boe") to be produced. This led to technological challenges that needed to be addressed during project planning. We believe that the innovative solutions applied enhanced currently available technologies and delivered an important legacy to the offshore oil and gas industry. Finally, the results obtained so far, with the ramp-up of Buzios projects 1, 2, 3, and 4 provide evidence of the successful adopted strategy and reinforce the decision of deployment of a fifth FPSO under the scope of the ToR contract. The strong results of the asset led to the acquisition of 90% of the Transfer of Rights Surplus ("ToR+"), together with CNOOC Petroleum Brasil Ltda. (5%) and CNODC Brasil Petróleo e Gás Ltda. (5%), which now paves the way for a second wave of development, including the deployment of up to seven additional FPSOs.

Abstract Considering the influence of wave period on the motion of ship, the hydrodynamic model of the floating crane-lifting objects coupling system is built. This model can calculate the motion response of floating crane and lifting object under wave conditions with different wave heights and periods. And it takes stability and sea-keeping of ship, personnel comfort as well as safety of equipment into full account. By comparing swing amplitude and acceleration amplitude of the floating crane and the lifting object, the limit working condition including both wave height and period for hoisting operation of the floating crane is determined. The method for limitation operation condition analysis of the floating crane not only offers calculating foundation for the construction operating adaptability of the engineering ship and the allowable working time window of the construction sea area, but also provides a new technical approach to the arrangement for the construction plan.

Key Message Accelerating the rollout of Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccine such that all LTC residents receive the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by January 31, 2021, would prevent a projected 600 COVID-19 cases and 115 deaths by March 31, 2021 when compared with the province’s current plan to vaccinate all LTC residents by February 15, 2021. Projections indicate that further acceleration of the rollout would prevent even more COVID-19 cases and deaths. If vaccine supply is limited, the early provision of first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to LTC home residents is likely to be more beneficial than the on-schedule provision of second doses to health care workers outside of LTC homes. All LTC residents should receive the second dose according to approved vaccination schedules.
