The purpose of the study the attitude of nurses to the existing system of advanced training and determine ways to optimize it. Results. An analysis of the opinions of nursing staff on improving the system of additional vocational education in accordance with personal needs showed that most of the students of advanced training courses expressed a desire to be present in the training process of practical health care professionals from large medical organizations using modern and innovative teaching methods; introduction of distance learning into the educational process of nursing staff with a flexible schedule and an individual student's plan; the use of modern and innovative technologies, methods and forms of professional and educational activities, formed taking into account the opinions of the students themselves; maintaining a high professional level of the teacher, the main qualities of which are the ability to motivate to study, maintain interest in the classroom and create a favorable psychological attitude. Conclusion. In improving the quality of medical care for patients, specialists with secondary medical education, in the development of new innovative technologies, additional professional education is a key resource, which goes along with the specialist throughout his entire professional activity and is able to adapt them to new professional requirements.

The article considers a negative impact on internationalization processes in Russian medical HE that is caused by the lack of a coordinated, unified, country-wide accepted system of testing English for professional communication. Authors describe how training and taking Occupational English Test is one of the ways to solve this problem, since OET is a widely acknowledged in English-speaking countries language certificate test for professionals in medicine. Adapting OET purposes to Russian medical HE system, establishing the network of training and testing centers will increase medical students’ and professionals’ motivation in learning English and stimulate their joining academic and professional community. These factors will contribute into the enhancement of internationalization processes in Russian medical HE.

Patient and the general people expect that doctors remain up-to-date and professionally competent. The formal undergraduate and postgraduate education and training are conducted to bring a behavioral change in a medical practitioner to meet that expectation. The rate and magnitude of change in medical science is such that the contents of text books are not sufficiently up-to-date rather somewhat out of date at the time of publication. CME is continuing education in knowledge and skill of medical practice through which doctors will remain up-to date. Due to rapid changes in health care delivery system; health professionals needs to transform from a continuing education (CME) to a continuous professional development (CPD) model so that they remain “up-to-date” in their knowledge and competency in total care. CPD is a broader concept for continuing development of multifaceted competencies inherent in medical practice including medical, managerial, social and personal subjects which are needed for high quality professional performance in modern health care delivery system. CPD is complementary to formal undergraduate and postgraduate education; completing the educational trilogy. Undergraduate and postgraduate medical education is regulated by specific rules and regulation but CPD is the process where the responsibility rests on professionals and individual doctor. People expect what is ‘best’ rather than what is ‘right’ for a particular situation and for that level; professional competence should be combined with improvisation and general oversight. That is why, all over the world the concept of CPD is emerging and developing as a dynamic educational process to improve and upgrade ones professional performance. As a part of the ‘global resident’ we should be familiar to cope with and should be trying to contribute in these progress and development. The purpose of the study is to find out the influence of the motivational component on the training system of physical education students who plan to use health-saving technologies in their professional activities in the physical education of schoolchildren who, for health reasons, belong to special medical groups. Professional education of future specialists in physical education and sports in higher education institutions requires technological changes in physical culture and health work with children and youth, who belong to special medical groups due to their state of health (Prykhoda, 2007). The solution of this direction of training of future specialists in physical education and sports will be more effective if the motivational component of training is applied in the educational process of students. Studies apply the motivational component of learning. Research determines that the use of a motivational component in the training program for future physical education professionals has a much better effect on the learning process of students, mastering the curriculum, self-development, and self-improvement both in higher education and in future professional activities (Dolіnnyj, 2016; Deminska, 2004).

The medical profession is under increased scrutiny with regards to the undesirable attitudes and behaviors of some of its members. There is a growing level of mistrust amongst the public for the medical profession as one hears cases of negligence, misconduct and unethical practices leading to legal suits and even violence. As a result, there is an increasing public demand for the transparency, accountability and quality assurance among the health professionals1. Health care in Pakistan is undisputedly identified as one of the country’s most corrupt sectors, according to surveys conducted by Transparency International2. While the commercialization of medical profession is cited as a common reason for dilution of quality, doubts have been raised regarding the quality of training2. Are the graduate doctors well trained to perform their clinical responsibilities? With the alarming rise of medical negligence and cases of unprofessionalism, there is a dire need for educational leaders to come forward with creative strategies to overcome the crises in medical education and initiate reforms at the earliest3. The health sector in Pakistan requires a change right from induction of the medical students till practice at community level. The following listed are proposed suggestions for the improvement in professionalism and ethics among doctors of Pakistan’s health care system. We should move away from the narrow focus on excellence in examination results towards a more liberal and exhaustive selection process focusing on ‘desirable attributes’ for medicine in addition to examination results. Professionalism, ethics, communication skills, teamwork and managerial skills should be part of the core curriculum. There should be proper and effective system of accountability and transparency in the medical field ensuring ethical practices. There should be more community-based training both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, strengthening the bond between the doctors and community. The regulating bodies should play their role effectively safeguarding the integrity of both the doctors and patients.

This article focuses on a specific debate within theories of professions. Despite different trends, there has been difficulty in theorizing some dimensions of the dominant perspectives because of predominant institutional attention. The aim here was to reinforce the debate with complementary conceptualization of professionalism and, consequently, to foster new understandings of professional relationships. The argument lies in shifting the analytical level from the professions to professionals, as a basic step in conceptualizing individual action within professional contexts. This concern becomes increasingly important as the professional discretion structurally held by individuals becomes greater, since the ability to choose leads more explicitly to internal differentiation of professions. Systemic influence is felt given that social structures are intrinsically involved in actions, which represent exteriorizations of individually internalized processes. Consequently, it becomes necessary to consider the reasons for behaviors and the meanings individually conferred on professional dimensions.

The duration of the cycle of human capital accumulation in the workplace, as well as the need to constantly master new technologies and practices of medical and preventive care for the population, require professional development of healthcare professionals. The implementation of this need requires the provision of appropriate social protection of medical personnel. The purpose of the study. Development of approaches to the analysis of social protection of medical professionals in the world of work concerning working conditions that contribute to the maintenance and development of their professional level. Material and methods. The concept of social work-related security was used as the theoretical basis of the study. The methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis of the data of sociological and economic surveys were used as a methodological basis. The data were obtained based on the materials of sample questionnaires of medical specialists conducted throughout Russia and in Moscow. Results. The ratings for assessing the characteristics of social protection of medical specialists have been determined. The highest rating was given to assessments of the stability of employment and wages, the lowest - assessments of labor safety (in terms of intensity), and wage size. Another group of reasons for the average rating was the identified advantages and disadvantages of the system of additional professional education. Discussion. The main characteristics of the work, which contribute to and complicate professional development, have been identified. They create a basis for finding and justifying ways to improve them. A complex of objective and subjective factors has been formed that affect the participation of medical specialists in additional professional education and its qualitative results. Conclusion. Many scientific prerequisites are presented for expanding the possibilities for a more successful integration of continuing education in health care into the general system of continuing professional education.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The practice of medicine has always been a big area of interest as a profession. The focus ranges depending on issues at hand - it may be on the educational, training, humanistic, economic, professional ethics and legal aspects. One area of medicine that is under the spotlight around the world is that of the maintenance of clinical competency, followed very closely and almost linked to professional ethics. This study follows the introduction of a system of Continuing Professional Development (hereinafter also referred to as CPD), in South Africa and an overview of how it has been introduced in a few other countries. The main areas of focus being the extrication of inherent values of CPD, relating this aspect to quality improvement in medical health care. The medical profession as well as most of the interested parties, has different perspectives regarding the fact that the system is regulated through legislation. There is also the doubt whether the CPD system will be effective in achieving the goals that it has been set to achieve. Although a system of Continuing Medical Education has been a tradition in all countries, which implies that the CPD system is not totally new as far as the educational principles are concerned, the values accruable need to be exploited. It is the possible success of this kind of evaluations that may foster more understanding of the inherent values in this CPD system.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Beroepsgewys het die praktyk van geneeskunde nog altyd groot belangstelling gelok. Die fokus verskuif na gelang van die onderwerpe ter sprake. Dit wissel van opvoedkunde, opleiding, humanisme, ekonomie, en professionele etiek tot regsaspekte. Dwarsoor die wêreld word daar gefokus op die handhawing van kliniese vaardighede, gevolg deur professionele etiek wat ook daarin verweef is. Hierdie studie bespreek die instelling van 'n stelsel van Voortgesette Professionele Ontwikkeling (hierna verwys na as VPO) in Suid-Afrika asook oorsig oor die wyse waarop dit in 'n paar ander lande ingestel is. Die klem lê op die inherente waardes met betrekking tot die verbetering gehalte in mediese gesondheidsorg. Die mediese beroep, asook meeste van die belangegroepe het verskillende opvattings oor die feit dat die stelsel deur wetgewing gereguleer word. Daar is ook twyfel of die VPO-stelsel in sy vooropgestelde doelwitte sal slaag. Wat die opvoedkundige beginsels betref, is die VPO-stelsel nie totaal en al nuut nie. Alhoewel VPO in ander lande tradisie is, is dit nodig om die totstandkoming van waardes te ontgin. Die moontlike sukses van hierdie tipe van evaluasies mag dalk beter begrip ten opsigte van die inherente waardes in die VPO-stelsel bevorder.

The character of the professional socialization experience is a subject of debate in the literature; one of the primary issues being the relative contributions of trainees to the nature of their socializing experience. As crucial as the clinical education experience is to the educational and professional development of medical students, it has received relatively little attention in the literature on professional socialization of physicians. The goals of this research were to understand, from the students' perspective, the character of the first clinical learning experience in the medical school career of a group of medical students and, given the character of that context, the role of student negotiations in their own education and professional socialization. This study employed a symbolic interactionist framework and the data collection methods of participant observation and unstructured interview. The data collection was conducted over a six-week period during which time the researcher experienced along with a group of six medical students their first clinical learning experience. These students perceived the clinical learning environment to be challenging, complex and frequently too busy to easily accommodate their learning needs. They recognized the enormity of their learning task and of their own incompetence. These were the basic perceptions that prompted the students to negotiate their clinical learning experience. Student negotiations took three basic forms: the creation of new learning opportunities, the manipulation of existing learning resources, and interpretation of events and behaviors. Students' negotiations were constrained by the structure of the education program and the students' own assertiveness. The study's findings indicate that the students were active negotiators of the content and the conduct of their own professional education and professional socialization. Even in the face of overwhelming demands on their intellectual and emotional resources, the students expressed their individual and collective intent for their educational experience. The study findings were similar to those of earlier studies of professional socialization, although new behaviors and behaviors inconsistent with those found in previous research were uncovered. Contributions to the literature on professional socialization and to an understanding of this phenomenon were made through the explanation of these inconsistencies.

Medical education leaders have been concerned about the decline in professionalism among medical students. While many studies have documented the professional socialization of medical students most have simply noted the process or examined the adaptation on the part of the students to the environment of the academic health center. Few have examined the socialization of professionalism, although many articles in the literature have discussed the lack of professionalism seen among medical students and they progress through their medical education. This is seen in students' distancing from patients, adopting the use of dehumanizing terminology when referring to patients and their families, and the decline in psycho-social functioning. There appear to be many factors that have facilitated this decline in professional values. Some include the increasing involvement of managed care in the teaching hospital, requirements for faculty to increase their clinical revenue thus reducing their time spent with students, and relegation of the teaching of medical students to residents. This study examines an alternate environment, the rural site, as one that may favor the adoption of the traditional or core professional values of physicians. This research qualitatively examines student's comments related to their involvement in a rural medical education program. This program, which selects 15 students each year from the entering class of medical students, seeks to nurture interest in rural practice. These medical students appear to have increased exposure to professional values due to their increased time spent in the rural environment. These teaching sites provide an alternative with which to compare the values held and reinforced in the academic health center. The values in the rural environments appear to be different than those in the academic health center, and seem to reflect professionalism in ways that are more consistent with the traditional values of physicians. These values include ones such as service to the community, altruism, honesty, respect and collegiality. The professional socialization of medical students requires the socialization of professional values. The rural medical education sites examined here through the students' comments reflect a different type of experience, one in which professional values are modeled, expected and upheld.

In numerous countries, including the United Kingdom (UK), America, Australia, and Sweden, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives represent a dominant manifestation of ‘therapeutic education’ (TE) which has emerged in response to growing concerns about the emotional well-being and mental health of children and young people. Implemented by a diverse range of lay experts, including teachers, teaching assistants, coaches and consultants, SEL-work emphasises the teaching of socio-emotional skills. Drawing on a critical realist framework, this thesis explores the ways in which SEL, is constructed both through language and practice and the wider implications of these discursive constructions for professional subjectivities. This research employs a realist ethnographic design across three school sites in the East Midlands area of the UK. Qualitative data, gathered through interviews, in-depth observations and documentary materials reveal a number of tensions within these constructions of SEL. In addition, an analysis of the qualitative data draws attention to an emerging and idealised professional subjectivity, namely, the teacher as charismatic emotional hero. The thesis argues that, despite some positive constructions of SEL, therapeutic practices in schools are often a site at which the psychopathologisation of children occurs.

Due to increasing societal demands, accountability and economic constraints, there has been a paradigm shift in the healthcare culture with a move to formally train medical educators. This has resulted in the professionalisation of medical education, with various development initiatives including postgraduate qualifications. The demand for these qualifications in medical education can be judged by the increase in providers, from 2 to 31 in the UK and from 7 to 124 worldwide over the last two decades. However, detailed information about the influence and effectiveness of such courses remains sparse. This study investigated the impact of postgraduate qualifications in medical education on graduates’ educational identities, practices and career progression. The study design is mixed methods using the explanatory model. The first study comprised of an online survey of graduates from the Centre for Medical Education, Dundee between 2008 and 2012. The data collected were sequentially explored in more depth through semi-structured interviews in the second study. To increase the range and scope of enquiry a third study was carried out, which involved a 10 month follow-up of a new cohort of face-to-face students (2013/14) through the course and to the workplace. The quantitative data were analysed using non-parametric statistics on SPSS 21, and constructivist grounded theory analysis was used for the qualitative data in ATLAS.ti 7. I found that a qualification in medical education enhances theoretical foundations in educational practices, with increased self-efficacy and engagement in scholarly activities. The qualification encourages transformational changes and epistemological development as a teacher, researcher, leader and learner. Many participants attributed their career progression to the qualification. The graduates were able to lead various educational changes in the workplace and they described substantial performance attainments. I also found their work environment and personal factors influenced the impact of these qualifications. A conceptual framework based on an increased understanding of the identity development of healthcare educators was also developed. This is the first study on the long-term effects of a degree-awarding course in medical education on healthcare professionals worldwide. The findings have implications for the educators, course directors, healthcare organisations and professionalisation of the speciality.

This thesis investigates professionalism in undergraduate medical students. Professionalism is comprised of values and behaviours that underpin the contract between the public and the medical profession. Medical errors are reported to result in significant morbidity and are in-part related to underdeveloped professionalism. The aim was to determine whether aspects of professionalism were underdeveloped in medical students. A questionnaire with 24 clinical and medical student vignettes was taken by Year 2, 4, and 6 medical students from UNSW Medicine 3801 and their responses where compared to responses from practicing Clinical Academics. Second, fourth and sixth Year medical students' responses differed from Academics in two aspects of professionalism, firstly, high ethical and moral standards and secondly, humanistic values such as integrity and honesty. A second component of this thesis was to determine whether student's responses to professionalism changed as they progressed through the medical program. Year 2 and 4 students had very similar responses except for the aspect responsibility and accountability. Similarly, the Year 2 and 6 students differed in only two of eight aspects of professionalism, that is, high ethical and moral standards and humanistic values and responsibility and accountability. These findings suggest that students' approaches to some aspects of professionalism do change slightly as they progress through a medical course, however there does not appear to be a clear decline or development of professionalism as a whole. Responses from the Year 2, Medicine 3801 and Medicine 3802 (new medical program) medical students were compared and no statistically different responses. This finding would indicate that professional behaviour was very similar between these two groups of students. Certain aspects of professionalism seem to be underdeveloped in medical students compared with Academics. These aspects of professionalism may need to be targeted for teaching and assessment in order that students develop as professionally responsible practitioners. In turn, students with well-developed professionalism may be less involved in medical error, and if involved they may have the personal values which can help them deal with error more honestly and effective.

The textbook consistently highlights the issues of anatomy and physiology of the pancreas, etiology, pathogenesis, classification, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of acute pancreatitis. Special attention is paid to determining the severity and prognosis of the disease. Modern approaches to treatment taking into account the severity of the disease, features of suppression of secretory activity of the pancreas and the role of nutritional support in the complex treatment of acute pancreatitis are presented. Attention is drawn to the timing of minimally invasive interventions for uninfected and infected postnecrotic fluid formations, as well as methods of surgical treatment in the phase of purulent-necrotic complications of acute pancreatitis. For the first time in the educational edition psychological aspects of rehabilitation of surgical patients are presented. AbstractWe explore the alternative explanation for barriers and facilitators for implementation of PCC evolving from human resources through the lenses of institutional theory. We have deepened the explanation by adding the perspective of different institutional logics, which shows that the physician's resistance or nurses’ support may originate from the differences in institutional logics. Working with patients by applying person-centered principles places new demands on health professionals. It is widely agreed that education and training are very important for the clarification on the roles of professionals in the person-centred care. PCC education programs were designed to be delivered through informal training, continued medical education, leadership development and training through mentors’ system. Managers, on the other hand, may support the implementation of PCC, but their motivation may be less oriented to increase of service quality, than gaining higher external legitimacy of the organization and increase organizational access to external resources. Therefore, managers may not implement sufficient control and motivational mechanisms for healthcare professionals for following PCC routines and make them slip back into ‘usual care’ or lose interest, knowledge or commitment. As the psychological state of medical staff can determine the duration and success of the treatment and care, therefore they should be properly motivated. In this chapter we show comparative research study in Ukraine and Poland. The methodology of this study selected a list of motivators for medical staff in both countries. The results of this study brought the main findings that may be useful for reforming inefficient healthcare systems.

t Continuing medical education (CME) is the right and obligation of every health worker for continuous professional development and one of the conditions for license renewal. The need for CME arose as a consequence of constant innovations in medicine as a science, as well as the introduction of new technologies in therapy, diagnostics and health care. It is necessary (mandatory) for all health workers, because it provides monitoring and reform of the education and health system according to WHO recommendations. A CME is a set of educational activities that serve to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional accomplishments and relationships that a physician and other health care professionals use to provide services to patients, the public, or the profession. The CME system ensures that the latest knowledge and the latest treatment techniques are transferred through additional and continuous form of internal or external training to doctors and medical technicians, and aims to raise the level of expertise and improve the quality of health care in all forms of health care and daily practice. E-learning is a step forward in CME. The aim of this paper is to present the e-learning system of education of medical workers in Serbia, as well as to present the attitudes of health workers about e-learning continuous medical training through empirical research.

Continuous Medical Education (CME) is becoming a minimum condition for adapting to today's changes and achieving success in professional and personal fields.The aim of this paper is a comparative analysis of CME in Serbia, the European Union, and the United Kingdom; US, Russian Federation and Iran. The aim of this comparative study was to assess the main countryspecific institutional settings applied by governments. Methods: A common scheme of analysis was applied to investigate the following variables: CME institutional framework; benefits and/or penalties to participants; types of CME activities and system of credits; accreditation of CME providers and events; CME funding and sponsorship. The analysis involved reviewing the literature on CME policy. Results: The US system has clear KME boundaries because it is implemented solely by credentialed institutions that organize dedicated meetings with the clear purpose of educating medical professionals.The European Union has not yet been able to reconcile the differences it has inherited from its members. Only "general" conditions are defined. Continuing medical education cannot be arbitrary, like any other organizational process. Everything has to be controlled in advance. Education in the Russian Federation is regulated by the law, Art. 2 and must be viewed as a whole. Doctors and healthcare professionals and their associates earn points through accredited continuing education programs for obtaining and renewing licenses of the Serbian Medical Chamber and KMSZTS - Chamber of Nurses and Health Technicians of Serbia. The Ordinance establishes the conditions for issuing, renewing and revoking the license for independent work, ie. License to Healthcare Professionals. (RS Official Gazette 102/2015) Conclusin: This comparative exercise provides an overview of the CME policies adopted by analyzed countries to regulate both demand and supply. The substantial variability in the organization and accreditation of schemes indicates that much could be done to improve effectiveness. Although further analysis is needed to assess the results of these policies in practice, lessons drawn from this study may help clarify the weaknesses and strengths of single domestic policies in the perspective.

The article highlights the current state of distance education, considers its advantages and disadvantages, and analyzes the main factors that inhibit the introduction of full-fledged distance learning of art education during the pandemic. The main problems faced by university teachers in organizing distance learning are clarified. Prospects for the introduction of distance education in the Free Economic Zone of Ukraine have been studied. The main role in the implementation of distance learning is played by modern computer technologies, which in combination with the latest educational media technologies become effective means of developing professional and critical thinking of students. Right now, society is more interested than ever in informatization and computerization of all spheres of activity, including art. Therefore, the computer is an indispensable assistant to teachers and students in mastering information flows, modeling and illustrating processes, phenomena, objects and events. High-quality mastery of music and computer technology, orients the future art teacher to the school of tomorrow and gives him a certain "margin of advance" for highly professional activities. The article considers the ways of application of innovative and music-computer technologies in the study of art disciplines, as well as the forms of their implementation, which are aimed at improving the quality of training of future professionals. The main priorities for the development of modern art education in Ukraine and the prospects of distance learning for the higher education system of Ukraine during the pandemic are identified.

Clinical practical training is a common practice and a requirement for many medical professions in the U.S.A. This training often lacks in managerial and leadership training, leaving many future practitioners poorly prepared for the challenges and requirements of leadership roles. The complexity of the healthcare system brings about new challenges in terms of leadership, with the development of leadership skills for practicing physicians becoming even more crucial. This study analyzed a sample of students and resident doctors in a psychiatric setting during their clinical rotation. The particularities of the observed emergence of leadership within the scope of multiple theoretical frameworks in the field of leadership were analyzed by calculating the median values of each set of survey responses. The study found that biological sex did not play a significant role in Leader emergence (p=0.74), Followers scored Leaders highly overall, and Leaders showed that they had a solid insight into their own capacities and limitations. Overall, strong leadership qualities were identified across all theoretical frameworks with valuable implications for the development of future leadership training. More research is needed to test this methodology in different medical settings and to identify the most effective type of leadership training for clinical education.

The changes the digital age brought in communicative practices produced under transmedia logic allow the structure of increasingly complex texts, produced by open, polyphonic, simultaneous, accelerated, and hybrid archenunciations, which expand into different genres, formats, languages , and media, determining new forms of production, reception, and circulation of content. New ethics and aesthetics shape cultural productions in all spheres, especially in the area of entertainment and the arts. Virtual reality, metaverses, among other modifications, demand new communicative skills and abilities – that is to say, a new literacy to the persons. In addition, the COVID-19 era inserted the processes and practices of professional training in the Internet's digital ecosystem, also demanding from its actors new interaction regimes with the educational practices that arise in this context. Digital platforms start to mediate the relationships of these actors with knowledge, configuring new ways of life for the learner. To identify the characteristics of the profile of these students and how they are relating to these emerging educational practices, we are developing a project entitled “Transmedia literacy in the era of education platform”, whose objective is to identify and analyze the produced and circulated transmedia literacy by students enrolled in professional training courses and inserted in educational practices mediated by digital technologies. We understand Transmedia Literacy as a communicative competence carried out in the universe of cultural and media convergence of the digital age, and as a theoretical-methodological proposal for research, teaching, and learning of transmedia communicative practices of reading, interpreting, producing, and disseminating texts. This proposal is based on transdisciplinary relationships from cross-relationships between the assumptions of the area of Social Communication, Linguistics, and discursive Semiotics. It is part of a context of cultural and transmedia convergence to which subjects migrate their social practices in an ever-accelerating manner. Assuming that literacy problems directly impact the teaching and learning processes of students in professional training processes, we propose to carry out a comparative study between the literacy skills of students in educational practices mediated by the digital platforms of formal education and their literacy daily life produced in the digital spaces through which they transit. We aim to identify the interaction regimes, types, and degrees of literacy and, therefore, the relationship of students with the knowledge offered by institutions. With Castells (2007), we consider that there is a great cultural and technological gap between today's youth and a school system that did not evolve along with society and the digital environment. Thus, it is intended that the results of this research have a direct impact on formal educational practices, offering data and a methodological proposal that allows institutions and professors to adapt their practices to the profile of their students, improving their relationship with the processes and practices of teaching and learning, thus ensuring excellence in the processes and practices of professional training in the areas of Art and Design.

The purpose of this study was to gather recommendations from organizational leaders, faculty, and students as an input to curricular reform for healthcare programs. The method was a qualitative research with a focus group and interviews with 26 leaders, faculty, and students. Focus group participants were leaders who dialogued reflect on the future tasks of healthcare professionals of the future. The data from the focus group was analysed learning environment dimensions. Five themes emerged from the focus groups. Eight leaders from associations, hospitals and medical schools remarked the importance on: 1) patient centered care, emphasis on prevention and well-being, 2) professionalism and identity formation, 4) innovation, research, and technology, 5) leadership for healthcare systems. Interviews showed that biomedical contents develop critical thinking and self-directed learning. Interviewees recommended starting patient care earlier on the program. There was a significant curricular reform to address opportunities and suggestions from participants. Perspectives from different stakeholders helped to develop inter-professional education for five programs. Patient Centeredness is learned from the first year of the programs through challenge-based learning. This approach which started on August 2019 is intended to develop leaders for the improvement of the healthcare systems. Even that scientific and technological advances demand radical change for universities, there are centuries of history that restrain them. At Tecnologico de Monterrey, School of Medicine and Health Sciences an integrated curriculum with challenges for wellness instead of diseases is now a reality. This paper presents the kinematic and pseudostatic analyses of a fully cable-actuated robotic lumbar spine (RLS) which can mimic in vivo human lumbar spine movements to provide better hands-on training for medical students. The design incorporates five active lumbar vertebrae between the first lumbar vertebra and the sacrum, with dimensions of an average adult human spine. Medical schools can benefit from a tool, system, or method that will help instructors train students and assess their tactile proficiency throughout their education. The robotic lumbar spine has the potential to satisfy these needs in palpatory diagnosis. Medical students will be given the opportunity to examine their own patient that can be programmed with many dysfunctions related to the lumbar spine before they start their professional lives as doctors. The robotic lumbar spine can be used to teach and test medical students in their capacity to be able to recognize normal and abnormal movement patterns of the human lumbar spine under flexion-extension and lateral bending. This project focus is on palpation, but the spine robot could also benefit surgery training/planning and other related biomedical applications.

In most disciplines, research findings take a long time to filter into practice, if they ever do at all. The result of this is under-utilisation of research results and sub-optimal practices. There are a number of reasons for the lack of knowledge transfer. Firstly, practitioners don’t have the time to keep up with the latest research%in professional practice, there is little time available to read academic journals. Once they have completed their formal education, they tend to rely on tacit knowledge acquired through experience rather than explicit knowledge in the form of academic research. In addition, the volume and geometric growth of research literature results in a massive problem of information overload%it is not humanly possible for practitioners (and challenging even for full-time researchers) to keep up with all the research published in their field. From the “supply side”, academic research is primarily focused on the production rather than distribution of knowledge%there is little investment in the distribution of research results beyond academic communities. The Internet provides a potential solution to this problem, in that it provides a common information infrastructure for connecting those who produce knowledge (researchers) and those who need tc apply it (practitioners). This paper describes two projects which use the Internet to make research results directly available to practitioners in the workplace. The first is a project in a health department which provides medical staff with on-line access to the latest medical research at the point of care. The second is a project currently in progress to implement a similar system to support IS practitioners. Finally, we draw some general lessons about how to improve transfers of knowledge from research and practice, which could be applied in any discipline.

In November 2020, UNICEF requested support from EdTech Hub to help the Government of Bangladesh improve the reach, effectiveness, and inclusiveness of the programme of activities proposed in the government’s Covid-19 Response and Recovery Plan: Education Sector (⇡Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, 2020). At that time, this plan led to a wide and diverse range of programmes initiated by the government and other stakeholders. As a result, EdTech Hub worked with the government and other stakeholders to rapidly create A Theory of Change (TOC) for a technology-enhanced education system (⇡Clark-Wilson et al., 2021). While acknowledging that parents, caregivers, teachers, school, and community leaders are also key stakeholders, the first TOC focused on learners as, ultimately, the desired impacts of a technology-enhanced education system are directed towards learners’ educational outcomes. One recommendation of the earlier working paper was that a TOC should also be developed that focused on teachers as key agents in the development of a technology-enhanced education system for the country. The process to develop this second TOC comprised a desktop review, interviews, and two stakeholder consultation workshops. The resulting teacher-centred TOC draws on existing theory and practice as well as stakeholders’ assumptions of how the evolving technology-enhanced teacher professional development offer might achieve its goals — and what conditions need to be in place to achieve this. Designing a mobile-oriented environment for professional and practical training requires determining the stable (fundamental) and mobile (technological) components of its content and determining the appropriate model for specialist training. In order to determine the ratio of fundamental and technological in the content of software engineers’ training, a retrospective analysis of the first model of training software engineers developed in the early 1970s was carried out and its compliance with the current state of software engineering development as a field of knowledge and a new the standard of higher education in Ukraine, specialty 121 “Software Engineering”. It is determined that the consistency and scalability inherent in the historically first training program are largely consistent with the ideas of evolutionary software design. An analysis of its content also provided an opportunity to identify the links between the training for software engineers and training for computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information systems and technologies. It has been established that the fundamental core of software engineers’ training should ensure that students achieve such leading learning outcomes: to know and put into practice the fundamental concepts, paradigms and basic principles of the functioning of language, instrumental and computational tools for software engineering; know and apply the appropriate mathematical concepts, domain methods, system and object-oriented analysis and mathematical modeling for software development; put into practice the software tools for domain analysis, design, testing, visualization, measurement and documentation of software. It is shown that the formation of the relevant competencies of future software engineers must be carried out in the training of all disciplines of professional and practical training.

We have seen drastic changes in the music profession during the last 20 years, and consequently an increase of new professional opportunities, roles and identities. We can see elements of a collective identity in classically trained musicians who from childhood have been introduced to centuries old, institutionalized traditions around the performers’ role and the work-concept. Respect for the composer and his work can lead to a fear of failure and a perfectionist value system that permeates the classical music. We have to question whether music education has become a ready-made prototype of certain trajectories, with a predictable outcome represented by more or less generic types of musicians who interchangeably are able play the same, limited canonized repertoire, in more or less the same way. Where is the resistance and obstacles, the detours and the unique and fearless individual choices? It is a paradox that within the traditional master-student model, the student is told how to think, play and relate to established truths, while a sustainable musical career is based upon questioning the very same things. A fundamental principle of an independent musical career is to develop a capacity for critical reflection and a healthy opposition towards uncontested truths. However, the unison demands for modernization of institutions and their role cannot be solved with a quick fix, we must look at who we are and who we have been to look at who we can become. Central here is the question of how the music students perceive their own identity and role. To make the leap from a traditional instrumentalist role to an artist /curator role requires commitment in an entirely different way. In this article, I will examine question of identity - how identity may be constituted through musical and educational experiences. The article will discuss why identity work is a key area in the development of a sustainable music career and it will investigate how we can approach this and suggest some possible ways in this work. We shall see how identity work can be about unfolding possible future selves (Marcus & Nurius, 1986), develop and evolve one’s own personal journey and narrative. Central is how identity develops linguistically by seeing other possibilities: "identity is formed out of the discourses - in the broadest sense - that are available to us ..." (Ruud, 2013). The question is: How can higher music education (HME) facilitate students in their identity work in the process of constructing their professional identities? I draw on my own experience as a classically educated musician in the discussion.

Topicality of the material, highlighted in this article is stipulated by the need to ensure effectiveness of educational process while preparing mining engineers. System of competencies for future mining engineers, taken as basis for high school sectoral standard for Mining 6.050301 update is theoretically substantiated and developed. Sources of state-of-the-art foreign educational system and technologies as well as scientific research results of local teachers have been analyzed, enabling development of new sectoral standard. Switching to new high school competencies-based sectoral standards is the necessary step in high education reforming in Ukraine, while the application of competencies-based approach to high school sectoral standards development facilitates tuning of education towards labour market’s requirements and demands, further development of educational techniques and educational system as a whole. Objective of the article: to project system of competencies and to define components of environmental competencies for mining engineers. Methods: – theoretical: analysis, generalization, systematization of legislative framework, educational standards, Internet - sources in order to distinguish theoretical basis of research, develop system of competencies for future mining engineers. – Empirical – improvement of system of competencies for future mining engineers. Scientific novelty is represented with structured system, consisting of 49 competencies, comprising the core of new sectoral standard for mining engineers preparation; Practical importance of the outcomes is related to developments: separate constituents of high school draft sectoral standard for Mining engineers bachelors’ preparation 6.050301 Mining (system of social & personal, general scientific, tool-based, general professional and special professional competencies. Research outcomes can be used while developing educational qualification profile and training program for Mining bachelors 6.050301 education field, in course of geoinformational technologies review by ecology, land survey and geography bachelors.
