The efficacy of five application methods and four fungicides were evaluated for control of spring dead spot (SDS) of bermudagrass from 2002 to 2004. Fenarimol and propiconazole were most effective in reducing SDS, providing from 66% to 89% and 51% to 52% control, respectively. Application water volume (2.5, 5, or 10 gal/1000 ft2), post-application irrigation, and high-pressure injection did not affect SDS control. Further research with fenarimol was conducted from 2003 into 2005 to optimize application rate and timing. In both years, all rates (6, 4 + 4, and 6 + 6 fl oz/1000 ft2, with split applications 2 weeks apart) provided equivalent control of SDS when averaged across all application timings. No significant differences were detected among application timings ranging from August 1 to October 1 in 2003 and from August 23 to November 5 in 2004. Accepted for publication 22 May 2006. In addition to the general overview (section 1), the following major developments will be covered in detail in sections 2 to 4: ? The EU/US Air Transport Agreement concluded by European and US negotiators on 2 March 2007 and adopted by the Council of EU Transport Ministers on 22 March 2007 (section 2); ? The airport package proposed by the European Commission (the Commission), including the proposed Directive on airport charges, the assessment of the impact of ground-handling liberalization and the Commission?s Communication on an action plan for airport capacity, efficiency and safety in Europe (section 3). In the discussion relating to the Communication, section 3 will also summarize the main findings of the November 2006 study by Mott MacDonald on the impact of secondary slot trading; and ? The Commission’s Consultation Paper on the possible revision of the CRS Code of Conduct (section 4).

The first detection of ASR in Mississippi on soybean was in Adams Co. on 16 November 2004. As of November 2006, ASR was found in Claiborne, George, Issaquena, Jackson, Jefferson, Lee, Warren, Washington, and Yazoo counties in 20 locations. Accepted for publication 22 May 2007. Abstract. Positive ionospheric storm effects that occurred during the superstorm on 20 November 2003 are investigated using a combination of ground-based Global Positioning System (GPS) total electron content (TEC), and the meridian chain of ionosondes distributed along the Latin America longitude of ~280° E. Both the ground-based GPS TEC and ionosonde electron density profile data reveal significant enhancements at mid-low latitudes over the 280° E region during the main phase of the November 2003 superstorm. The maximum enhancement of the topside ionospheric electron content is 3.2–7.7 times of the bottomside ionosphere at the locations of the ionosondes distributed around the mid- and low latitudes. Moreover, the height of maximum electron density exceeds 400 km and increases by 100 km compared with the quiet day over the South American area from middle to low latitudes, which might have resulted from a continuous eastward penetration electric field and storm-generated equatorward winds. Our results do not support the conclusions of Yizengaw et al. (2006), who suggested that the observed positive storm over the South American sector was mainly the consequence of the changes of the bottomside ionosphere. The so-called "unusual" responses of the topside ionosphere for the November 2003 storm in Yizengaw et al. (2006) are likely associated with the erroneous usage of magnetometer and incomplete data.

Yet Another Way Round Horizontal Direct Effect…In June 2003 Werner Mangold, who was 56 years old, concluded a fixed-term contract of employment with Rüdiger Helm. The contract provided that its duration was based on para 14(3) of the TzBfG (German Law on Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment) which was intended to facilitate the fixed-term employment of older workers (those over the age of 52). A few weeks into his employment, Mangold brought proceedings against Helm before the Arbeitsgericht München (Munich Labour Court) claiming that the clause fixing the duration of his employment was void in that para 14(3) of the TzBfG, on which it was based, was incompatible with Council Directive 1999/70/EC of 28 June 1999 concerning the framework agreement on fixed-term work concluded by ETUC, UNICE and CEEP and Council Directive 2000/78/EC of 27 November 2000 establishing a general framework for equal treatment in employment and education.

AbstractAspects of the solar corona are still best observed during totality of solar eclipses, and other high-resolution observations of coronal active regions can be observed with radio telescopes by differentiation of occultation observations, as we did with the Jansky Very Large Array for the annular solar eclipse of 2012 May 20 in the US. Totality crossing Antarctica included the eclipse of 2003 November 23, and will next occur on 2021 December 4; annularity crossing Antarctica included the eclipse of 2008 February 7, and will next occur on 2014 April 29. Partial phases as high as 87% coverage were visible and were imaged in Antarctica on 2011 November 25, and in addition to partial phases of the total and annular eclipses listed above, partial phases were visible in Antarctica on 2001 July 2011, 2002 December 4, 2004 April 19, 2006 September 22, 2007 September 11, and 2009 January 26, and will be visible on 2015 September 13, 2016 September 1, 2017 February 26, 2018 February 15, and 2020 December 14. On behalf of the Working Group on Solar Eclipses of the IAU, the poster showed the solar eclipses visible from Antarctica and this article shows a subset (see www.eclipses.info for the full set). A variety of investigations of the Sun and of the response of the terrestrial atmosphere and ionosphere to the abrupt solar cutoff can be carried out at the future eclipses, making the Antarctic observations scientifically useful.

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, November 27. Accessible via www.gov.uk/government/publications/industrial-strategy-building-a-britain-fit-for-the-future, 2017). This chapter explores the role of these narratives of CCI policymaking within two city-regional Local Industrial Strategy (LIS) pilots in the West Midlands and the North West of England. Using discourse analysis of LIS pilots, it compares their social practices and discourses which reveal “the local”, the rhetoric of creativity and the boundary work (Lamont & Molnár, The study of boundaries in the social sciences. <em>Abstract.-</em>The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Family and Community Fishing Program was developed in 2002, and catchable channel catfish <em>Ictalurus punctatus</em>, hybrid striped bass <em>Morone saxatilis </em>x <em>M. chrysops</em>, and rainbow trout <em>Oncorhynchus mykiss </em>have been stocked into ponds and streams seasonally each subsequent year. One of the goals of the program has been to provide families and children with a convenient and excellent chance to catch fish. A toll-free stocking hotline (1-866-540-FISH) was initiated in January 2006 to inform anglers when and where fish had been stocked, so they could plan their fishing trips to program destinations accordingly. Hotline information was provided for 22 ponds during catfish season (April through November) and 17 ponds plus one stream during trout season (December through March). The hotline was generally updated within two hours after stocking, and consisted of information regarding immediate past stocking events as well as general fishing tips. Anglers placed 11,822 calls and spent 15,394 min of call-time on the hotline between January 2006 and May 2007. The number of calls peaked during catfish stocking season in June and was lowest during the September stocking off-season. On average, the hotline cost approximately $40 per month to operate and was four to six times less expensive than paying Commission personnel to answer stocking questions on the telephone. More than 36% of the hotline calls were placed outside of Commission business hours (0800-1630 hours), indicating that anglers were taking advantage of the 24-h information line. A toll-free hotline is a popular, inexpensive, and cost-effective means of supplying stocking information, allowing anglers to make informed decisions when choosing a day and location to fish at program locations.

Introdução: Apesar do avanço da medicina e de que nenhum caso de resistência à penicilina tenha sido publicado, a sífilis continua sendo um sério problema de saúde pública no Brasil, especialmente a sífilis congênita. Objetivo: Analisar a distribuição temporal de demanda e positividade de testes não treponêmicos VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) realizados no Laboratório Central de Saúde Pública Miguelote Viana. Material e Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo retrospectivo de série temporal. Os objetos de análise foram: demanda de exames, positividade e dias trabalhados. Este levantamento corresponde ao período de 2006 a 2018 (12 anos), e foi realizado no Laboratório Central de Saúde Pública Miguelote Viana, em Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. Ressalta-se que os pacientes envolvidos nos exames não foram identificados. A análise de dados foi feita em parceria com o Setor de Doenças Sexualmente Transmissíveis (DST) da Universidade Federal Fluminense. Resultado e Conclusões: De janeiro de 2006 a dezembro de 2012, foram registrados 30.700 testes VDRL: em 2006, 5.235 (17,05%); em 2007, 4.622 (15,06%); em 2008, 4.620 (15,05%); em 2009, 4.415 (14,38%); em 2010, 4.024 (13,11%); em 2011, 4.079 (13,29%); e em 2012, 3.705 (12,07%). Os dias trabalhados por mês, em médias anuais, foram: 19,67 em 2006; 19,92 em 2007; 19,08 em 2008; 20,67 em 2009; 19,75 em 2010; 19,92 em 2011; e 19,75 em 2012. De julho a dezembro de 2013, foram realizados 1.786 testes VDRL: 249 em julho; 379 em agosto; 344 em setembro; 363 em outubro; 255 em novembro; e 196 em dezembro. Nesse período, 150 testes tiveram resultado positivo e a positividade foi de 8,39%. No total, foram 122 dias trabalhados, distribuídos da seguinte forma: 22 dias em julho, 22 em agosto, 21 em setembro, 22 em outubro, 17 em novembro e 18 em dezembro. O feriado de Carnaval ocorreu em: 28 de fevereiro (2006); 20 de fevereiro (2007); 05 de fevereiro (2008); 24 de fevereiro (2009); 16 de fevereiro (2010); 08 de março (2011); e 21 de fevereiro (2012). Dados dos demais anos não foram levantados, pois a instituição entrou em processo de obra. Não houve relação de sazonalidade com a demanda e com a positividade dos testes VDRL realizados no Laboratório Central de Saúde Pública Miguelote Viana. Não houve aumento na demanda de testes VDRL e/ou de positividade para o teste VDRL após o Carnaval no Laboratório Central de Saúde Pública Miguelote Viana, em Niterói.

A meta de eliminar a hanseníase como problema de saúde pública, tem levado vários municípios brasileiros a desenvolverem estratégias que promovam a efetivação dos princípios do Sistema Único de Saúde da universalidade, descentralização, integralidade e equidade. O município de Barra Mansa, estado do Rio de Janeiro, resolveu a partir de 2001 desenvolver Campanhas Anuais de Aceleração da Eliminação da hanseníase, para reduzir a carga da doença para menos de um caso em cada dez mil habitantes. Foram promovidas nos anos de 2001, 2002 e 2003 atividades de capacitação de recursos humanos, concomitante a um conjunto de atividades de divulgação da nova imagem da hanseníase e da universalização das ações programáticas na rede básica de saúde.

This paper presents the IAEA International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO). It defines its rationale, key objectives and specifies the organizational structure. The IAEA General Conference (2000) has invited “all interested Member States to combine their efforts under the aegis of the Agency in considering the issues of the nuclear fuel cycle, in particular by examining innovative and proliferation-resistant nuclear technology” (GC(44)/RES/21) and invited Member States to consider to contribute to a task force on innovative nuclear reactors and fuel cycle (GC(44)/RES/22). In response to this invitation, the IAEA initiated an “International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles”, INPRO. The Terms of Reference for INPRO were adopted at a preparatory meeting in November 2000, and the project was finally launched by the INPRO Steering Committee in May 2001. At the General Conference in 2001, first progress was reported, and the General Conference adopted a resolution on “Agency Activities in the Development of Innovative Nuclear Technology” [GC(45)/RES/12, Tab F], giving INPRO a broad basis of support. The resolution recognized the “unique role that the Agency can play in international collaboration in the nuclear field”. It invited both “interested Member States to contribute to innovative nuclear technology activities” at the Agency as well as the Agency itself “to continue it’s efforts in these areas”. Additional endorsement came in a UN General Assembly resolution in December 2001 (UN GA 2001, A/RES/56/94), that again emphasized “the unique role that the Agency can play in developing user requirements and in addressing safeguards, safety and environmental questions for innovative reactors and their fuel cycles” and stressed “the need for international collaboration in the development of innovative nuclear technology”. As of February 2002, the following countries or entities have become members of INPRO: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Russian Federation, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Turkey and the European Commission. In total, 15 cost-free experts have been nominated by their respective governments or international organizations. The objective of INPRO is to support the safe, sustainable, economic and proliferation resistant use of nuclear technology to meet the global energy needs of the 21st century. Phase I of INPRO was initiated in May 2001. During Phase I, work is subdivided in two subphases: Phase IA (in progress): Selection of criteria and development of methodologies and guidelines for the comparison of different concepts and approaches, taking into account the compilation and review of such concepts and approaches, and determination of user requirements. Phase IB (to be started after Phase IA is completed): Examination of innovative nuclear energy technologies made available by Member States against criteria and requirements. This examination will be co-ordinated by the Agency and performed with participatio of Member States on the basis of the user requirements and methodologies established in Phase IA. In the first phase, six subject groups were established: Resources, Demand and User requirements for Economics; User requirements for the Environment, Fuel cycle and Waste; User requirements for Safety; User requirements for Non-proliferation; User requirements for crosscutting issues; Criteria and Methodology.

The Old Solvent Tanks (OST), located at the Savannah River Site (SRS) Old Radioactive Waster Burial Ground (ORWBG), are comprised of 22 underground storage tanks that were used to store spent radioactive solvent and aqueous wastes generated from the plutonium-uranium extraction (PUREX) process. The OSTs were installed at various dates between 1955 and 1968 and used to store the spent solvents until 1974. The spent solvents stored in the OSTs were transferred out from 1976 through 1981 leaving only residual liquids and sludges that could not be pumped out. Final remediation goals for the ORWBG include an overlying infiltration control system. If the tanks were to structurally fail, they would collapse causing potential for onsite worker exposure and release of tank contents to the environment. Therefore, as an interim action, methods for stabilizing the tanks were evaluated. The preferred remedial action was “Grouting of the Tank Wastes In-situ.” The primary function of the grout is to provide structural stability of the tanks by filling void space with material that prevents tank collapse. Incidental to any mixing that may occur, residual material in the tanks will be incorporated into the grouting mixture. The incidental grouting will ultimately improve environmental protection by rendering the residual material immobile. To accomplish this task, the SRS Environmental Restoration Division (ERD) teamed with the Savannah River Technology Center (SRTC) to determine a remedial design strategy and to translate this strategy into a construction specification and drawings for implementation. The OST remedial design strategy contained the following key aspects for performance requirements and acceptance criteria: • Grout mix; • Tank atmosphere testing; • Grout delivery system and camera monitoring system; • Off-Gas HEPA filter system and environmental monitoring; • OST Sealing and labeling. From November 2001 through February 2003 all 22 Old Solvent Tanks were successfully stabilized. This paper will discuss the systems designed to perform and monitor the grouting operation, the grouting process, and the radiological controls and wastes associated with grouting the Old Solvent Tanks.

Objectives: Management of bladder perforation during TURBT and to evaluate the need for open exploration? Materials and Methods: A retrospective study design was done and 1550 patients underwent TURBT for bladder mass from January 2005 to November 2023. 52 patients were identified with bladder perforation. 20 patients with T2 tumour on biopsy were excluded from final analysis. Parameters recorded on occurrence of a perforation included patient age and sex, tumor stage, grade, multiplicity, size, location, type of bladder perforation and management undertaken. Results: Of a total of 32 patients, 20 were male and 12 patients were female. The mean age of presentation was 65±12.34yrs. 19 patients had T1 tumors. The site of urinary bladder associated with the highest perforation was postero-lateral wall seen in 14 patients. None of the patients had past history of TURBT or were previously operated. A total of 10 patients (31.25%) had intra-peritoneal perforation and 22 patients (68.75%) had extra-peritoneal perforation. Conclusion: We conclude from our study that open exploration is seldom required for bladder perforation during TURBT unless there are signs of peritonism.

Анотація:
Odlingssystemet ”Strimsådd av ekologiska radodlade grödor i utvintrande mellangrödor”, som studerats i detta projekt, innebär att man efter plöjning på sensommaren för rotogräsbekämpning sår olika ”frostkänsliga” mellangrödor i augusti-september. Biomassan från mellangrödan vissnar ner eller fryser bort under vintern och får står kvar på fältet till våren. På våren sås en ny huvudgröda i mellangrödans växtrester efter att ”såstrimmor” hackats fram i sommarmellangrödan, d.v.s. huvudgrödan etableras i ett ”strip-till-system”. Mellangrödornas effekt på ogräsen på hösten beror till stor del på mellangrödornas marktäckningsgrad. Mellangrödor med större marktäckningsgrad ger generellt bättre ogräskonkurrens jämfört med mellangrödor som har lägre martäckningsgrad. I försöken under 2021 var reduktionen av ogräsvikten 91-94 % i mellangrödorna honungsört, oljerättika och havre, jämfört med försöksledet utan mellangröda. Bovetets reduktion av ogräsets marktäckningsgrad var 41 % på Skepparslöv, medan reduktionen av ogräsvikten var 57 % på Lönnstorp. En bra ogräseffekt i strip-till-systemet med mellangrödorna på hösten resulterade även i en bra ogräseffekt i huvudgrödorna följande växtsäsong. Risken för kväveutlakning i form av NO3-N från jordprofilen på djupet 30-90 cm på Lönnstorp, vid en lerhalt på 11-22 %, verkar vara relativ låg under vintern när mellangrödorna oljerättika, honungsört och havre får växa långt in på senhösten. Risken för kväveutlakning på senhösten verkar dock vara betydligt större för bovetet p.g.a. att det vissnar eller fryser ner tidigt på hösten. Försöken på Lönnstorp visade att det ena året, då den obevuxna marken utan mellangröda vårplöjdes, så var risken för kväveläckage betydligt lägre jämfört med föregående år då den obevuxna marken utan mellangröda höstplöjdes i mitten av november. Försöken på Skepparslöv, vid en lerhalt på 7 %, med mellangrödor i strip-till-systemet, tyder på att mängden N-min i jordprofilen efterföljande vår till stor del beror på mellangrödornas biomassaavkastning föregående höst. I denna studie visade vi att mellangrödorna oljerättika, honungsört eller havre som etablerades i slutet av augusti, kunde ge en markkolseffekt på 90-200 kg/ha stabilt kol (C) under försöken 2020 och 2021. För de mellangrödor som levererade mer än 130 kg stabilt C per hektar var kolinlagringskostnaden 7,5-16,3 kr/kg stabil kol, eller 2,1-4,4 kr/kg CO2 som bundits i marken. Med ett stöd för odling av mellangröda på 1300 kr/ha blir kostnaden 2,1- 6,7 kr/kg stabil kol, eller 0,6-1,8 kr/kg CO2 som bundits i marken av mellangrödorna. Kostnaderna för kolinlagring i marken via mellangrödor med stödet inräknat ligger därmed både lägre och högre jämfört med koldioxidskatten som för närvarande ligger på 1,15 kr/kg CO2. Försöken visade att det var möjligt att uppnå lika stora skördar hos huvudgrödorna i strip-tillsystemet som i de plöjda systemen. Den mellangröda i strip-till-systemet som resulterade i högst skörd var honungört i renbestånd eller i samodling med den kvävefixerande mellangrödan alexandrinerklöver. Skörden blev dock i en del fall lägre i strip-till-systemet jämfört med de plöjda systemen. Den mellangröda i strip-till-systemet som gav lägst skörd hos huvudgrödan var bovete i renbestånd. Det kan förklaras av att det relativt värmekrävande och frostkänsliga bovetet hade en sämre tillväxt och utveckling, jämfört med de andra mellangrödorna (alexandrinerklöver, havre, honungsört, oljerättika). Försöken visade att för att få en hög lökskörd i strip-till-systemet så bör såstrimman hackas fram några veckor före sådden för att få en lucker såbädd till löken och för att locka fröogräs till att gro, i en falsk såbädd. För att erhålla en bra ogräseffekt i strip-till-systemens huvudgrödor, så kan hackningen antingen utföras på hösten eller på våren. mellangrödorna (alexandrinerklöver, havre, honungsört, oljerättika).
