Анотація:

SUMMARYThe aim of this study was to evaluate the presence of influenza virus co-infections in humans and changes in the genetic variability of A(H3N2) virus strains in southern Italy from 1999 to 2009. A partial sequence of the haemagglutinin (HA) gene by human influenza H3N2 strains identified in oropharyngeal swabs from patients with influenza-like illness was analysed by DNA sequencing and a phylogenetic analysis was performed. During the seasons 1999–2000, 2002–2003, 2004–2005 and 2008–2009, the influenza viruses circulating belonged to subtype H3N2. However, A(H1N1) subtype virus and B type were respectively prevalent during the 2000–2001, 2006–2007, 2007–2008 and 2001–2002, 2003–2004, 2005–2006 seasons. The HA sequences appeared to be closely related to the sequence of the influenza A vaccine strain. Only the 2002–2003 season was characterized by co-circulation of two viral lineages: A/New York/55/01(H3N2)-like virus of the previous season and A/Fujian/411/02(H3N2)-like virus, a new H3 variant. In this study, over the decade analysed, no significant change was seen in the sequences of the HA gene of H3 viruses isolated.

Анотація:

O objetivo deste artigo foi analisar o comportamento da variabilidade têmporo-espacial da pluviosidade na região de Unaí, noroeste do estado de Minas Gerais-Brasil. A metodologia consistiu no uso de dados pluviométricos de 100 estações da Agência Nacional de Águas (ANA) e 22 estações meteorológicas (INMET), correspondendo ao recorte temporal entre os anos de 1995/1996 e 2014/2015, empregados na determinação dos anos-padrão pela técnica do desvio padrão e mapeados pelo método dos polígonos de Thiessen. Os resultados possibilitaram identificar a espacialização dos padrões regionais de pluviosidade, caracterizados temporalmente como: Chuvoso (1996/1997, 2003/2004 e 2006/2007); Chuvoso/Tendente a Chuvoso (2010/2011); Habitual/Tendente a Chuvoso (2005/2006); Habitual (2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2008/2009 e 2009/2010); Seco/Tendente a Seco (1995/1996, 1997/1998, 2000/2001, 2007/2008 e 2013/2014); Seco (2014/2015); Misto (1998/1999, 1999/2000, 2004/2005, 2011/2012 e 2012/2013). A interpretação dos padrões regionais (mapas) e locais (estações pluviométricas no transecto) das chuvas proporcionou relacioná-los com os fatores de teleconexões do clima (ENOS/ODP) e extremos de pluviosidade.

e21524 Background: Primary breast sarcoma usually was considered a rare malignant disease [Adem et al., 2004]. The aim of this study is to show the incidence of breast sarcoma in the region with female population of about 600,000. Methods: Retrospective comparative analysis of breast sarcoma and breast cancer incidence in female of Ternopil region for 2000 - 2008. Descriptive statistical method was used. Results: The total of 101 cases of breast sarcoma was diagnosed in female of 39 - 76 years of age. Every year about 11 (6–18) primary breast sarcomas and 256 (233–279) patients with primary breast cancer were detected. The incidence rate of breast sarcoma was 1.14 per 100,000 women in 2000, 2.94 (in 2001), 1.48 (2002), 0.99 (2003), 2.16 (2004), 1.67 (2005), 2.53 (2006), 2.03 (2007) and 1.87/100,000 in 2008. The incidence of breast cancer was ranged from 37.3 to 46.4 per 100,000 of female population. Breast sarcoma consisted of 2.5% of the breast malignancies in 2000, 6.5% (in 2001), 3.3% (2002), 2.6% (2003), 5.4% (2004), 4.1% (2005), 5.9% (2006), 4.4% (2007) and 4.7% in 2008. Pathohistologic examination revealed angiosarcoma in 92.1% of cases. Thus, our findings are significantly different than data of other authors: f.e., the incidence of primary breast sarcoma is at 45 new cases per 10 million women [Confavreux et al., 2003], or 17 new cases per million women [Moore and Kinne, 1996], and breast sarcoma accounting for 0.0006% of breast malignancies which were diagnosed in 1910–2000 [Adem, 2004]. Taking into account all historical and recent data we can suggest beginning of biological changing in correlation between breast malignant tumors–carcinoma and sarcoma. Conclusions: Our statistical finding shows that incidence of breast sarcoma is 1.87 (0.99–2.94) per of 100,000 female population, and now sarcomas consist of 4.4% (2.5–6.5%) of all malignant breast tumors. Angiosarcoma is a most common (92.1%) morphological type of breast sarcomas. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

Kinerja keuangan PT. Kalbe Farma ditinjau dari rasio profitabilitas terjadi fluktuasi, artinya rasio ini mengalami naik turun setiap tahunnya. Namun dilihat dari Net Profit Margin sebelum merger pada tahun 2002 sebesar 10,42%, tahun 2003 sebesar 11,18%, tahun 2004 sebesar 10,91% dan sesudah merger pada tahun 2005 sebesar 10.66%, tahun 2006 sebesar 11,14%, tahun 2007 sebesar 10,07%, tahun 2008 sebesar 8,97%, tahun 2009 sebesar 10,22%, tahun 2010 sebesar 12,58%, pada tahun 2011 sebesar 14,11%, pada tahun 2012 sebesar 12,99%, tahun 2013 sebesar 12,52%. Célkitűzés: Az országos kiterjedésű, szervezett emlőszűrési program 2002 januárjában indult el Magyarországon a 45–65 év közötti nők számára 2 éves szűrési intervallummal. A dolgozat célja a szervezett emlőszűrési program részvételi mutatóinak meghatározása, beleértve a szűrési és diagnosztikus célú képalkotó emlőfelvételek gyakoriságának elemzését. Adatok és módszerek: Az elemzésben szereplő adatok az Országos Egészségbiztosítási Pénztár finanszírozási adatbázisából származnak, és a 2000–2005 közötti 6 évet ölelik fel. A 45–65 éves nők körében meghatározták azok arányát, akik a szervezett szűrést megelőző két évben (2000–2001), illetve a program első két ciklusában (2002–2003, 2004–2005) akár szűrési, akár diagnosztikai célú képalkotó emlővizsgálaton vettek részt. Eredmények: A szűrési célú képalkotó emlőfelvételen részt vettek aránya (átszűrtség) a 2000–2001-es 7,4%-ról a 2002–2003-as, illetve 2004–2005-ös szervezett emlőszűrési ciklusban 34,0, illetve 29,5%-ra emelkedett. A diagnosztikus célú képalkotó emlőfelvételen részt vettek aránya (átvizsgáltság) pedig ugyanezen időszakokban 19,8%-ról 22,1 (2002–2003), illetve 23,2%-ra (2004–2005) emelkedett. Az országos lefedettség (átszűrtség + átvizsgáltság) ennek megfelelően a szervezett szűrés hatására 26,2%-ról (2000–2001) 53,5%-ra (2002–2003), illetve 50,8%-ra (2004–2005) nőtt a vizsgált kétéves ciklusban a 45–65 év közötti nők esetében. Következtetés: A magyar emlőszűrési program kezdeti részvételi arányai 2004–2005-ben kissé csökkentek; az emlőrák miatti halálozás érdemi csökkentéséhez ennek emelése szükséges.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar o número de medições (repetições) necessárias à predição do desempenho de cultivares de milho (Zea mays L.). Para isso, foram usados os dados de produtividade de grãos de 286 ensaios de competição de cultivares, realizados no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, nos anos agrícolas 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008 e 2008/2009. Para cada ensaio, foi realizada a análise de variância, estimado o coeficiente de repetibilidade e calculado o número de repetições necessárias para predizer o valor real das cultivares, com base no coeficiente de determinação genotípico de 0,80 e 0,90. Ensaios com três e quatro repetições identificam cultivares superiores de milho, em relação à produtividade de grãos, com, respectivamente, 72,40 e 81% de exatidão no prognóstico de seu valor real.

Sixty-four overseed turf entries were evaluated from October 2002, to June 2003 for turf when overseeded on Tifway bermudagrass fairway turf. Overseed entries included 43 single variety (or experimental synthetics) of perennial ryegrass, 2 annual ryegrasses, 6 entries of intermediate or 'hybrid' ryegrass, 5 entries of Poa trivialis (PT), one blend of perennial ryegrass, 4 mixtures (two or more species together) and 3 fescues. The main effect of "overseed grass entry" was highly significant on all dates for all visual turf responses, which included establishment, color quality, density, texture, and spring transition. The greatest amount of variation occurred within the perennial ryegrass group as a whole, showing the diversity within this species for overseeding performance. Annual ryegrass provided quick germination and ground coverage in the fall and a quick spring transition, but was of poor turf quality. Intermediate ryegrasses had performance values between that of perennial and annual ryegrass, some of which provided moderately good turf performance and good transition. Poa trivialis was slow to establish, but provided good quality and excellent plot texture, however they had poor transitional qualities. Final quality mean scores ranged from 3.0 (P-02-0047 PT) to 7.7. There were three entries, which averaged 7.7 at the close of the test, which included Mach 1 PR, SR 4500 PR, and Pace PR. The entries IG-2, Greenville PR, Express PR, Bar LO 2001, Hawkeye, Partee finished at 7.3 for quality. Among the intermediate ryegrass entries, Froghair finished with a mean quality score of 7.0, followed by Pick 00- A-LH (5.3). All three fescues produced mean quality scores of 6.0 or better on 8 June (Hardtop fescue leading at 6.7 for quality). The Labarinth tall fescue did have 62% Bermuda at the end of the test, compared to 65% for all entries at that time. Entries which had a mean quality score of 7.0 or more in June, along with a bermuda transition of close to 75% or more at the termination of the test included the following entries; Citation Fore, Mach 1, BarGold, Bar LP 2001, Pace, Greenville OSP, and Express.

Trabajo de Investigación Requisito para optar al Título de Cirujano Dentista
Es misión central de las universidades la producción de conocimiento a través de investigaciones científicas. En la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Chile, al igual que en otros países, los estudiantes de pregrado desarrollan en el último semestre de su plan de estudios una tesis, que es un trabajo de investigación sobre un tema de interés supervisado por académicos de la institución. A pesar su importancia en la formación de los futuros profesionales, como instancia de aprendizaje respecto del quehacer científico, se desconoce el cumplimiento de las tesis respecto de los requisitos formales y metodológicos a los que debe ajustarse la investigación científica. El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo establecer los niveles de aplicación de la metodología científica en el proceso de tesis de pregrado para 2 trienios de producción (2002-2004 y 2007-2009). Metodología: Se realizó una revisión exhaustiva de la totalidad de las tesis de pregrado realizadas por alumnos de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Chile, durante los trienios 2002-2003-2004 y 2007- 2008-2009, excluyéndose del estudio aquellas tesis cuyos tutores principales o asociados correspondieran al equipo investigador. La revisión fue realizada por tres académicos de la Facultad de Odontología con formación en Metodología de la Investigación y un alumno tesista. La información se recogió a través de una lista de cotejo que incluyó aspectos formales y de contenidos exigidos tanto por la misma Facultad de Odontología como los publicados en la literatura 64 científica. Resultados: Los aspectos metodológicos que exhibieron mejores resultados en niveles logro fueron Conclusiones (86,5 % de tesis con nivel Totalmente Logrado (TL) ), Hipótesis (71,6 % de tesis con nivel TL) y Resultados (71,3 % de tesis con nivel TL), en cambio, las principales dificultades se observaron en los aspectos Discusión (34,6% de tesis con nivel TL), Marco Teórico (47,5% de tesis con nivel TL) y Materiales y Método que obtuvo los más bajos rendimientos, de éste, los ámbitos Diseño (8,3 % de tesis con nivel TL) y Normas éticas ( 16,6% de tesis con nivel TL) mostraron los peores desempeños. Conclusiones: Las tesis de pregrado presentaron bajos niveles en la aplicación de metodología científica, respecto de estándares internacionales para determinados aspectos de las tesis, principalmente en: Materiales y Métodos, Discusión y Marco Teórico; siendo los aspectos con mejor nivel de logro son Hipótesis, Conclusiones y Resultados, aunque ninguna tesis alcanza el máximo nivel.

As políticas culturais desenvolvidas no período compreendido entre 1995-2006 na Bahia conciliaram ações de financiamento da produção a partir de leis de incentivo, intervenções governamentais na preservação dos patrimônios material e imaterial e conceitos como identidade, adquirindo peculiaridades importantes à medida que a orientação da gestão cultural centralizou suas ações na capital do estado. As áreas de Cultura e Turismo foram unidas em uma mesma secretaria, numa iniciativa de transformar a Bahia em um importante destino turístico através de sua cultura, pautada em uma concepção de identidade singular para o estado, a partir dos signos do recôncavo baiano. Em 2007, um novo grupo político assume o governo estadual pretendendo adotar uma política cultural que rompe com a anterior. A princípio as pastas da Cultura e do Turismo são separadas; busca-se reconhecer a diversidade cultural do estado; implementar um modelo de gestão descentralizado capaz de envolver as comunidades beneficiadas, os poderes públicos, a sociedade civil organizada e a iniciativa privada; e, sobretudo pensar a cultura de maneira mais abrangente. Neste cenário, o presente estudo debruça-se sobre o momento de aparente transição, elegendo as políticas culturais desenvolvidas nas gestões de Paulo Souto (2003-2007) e Jaques Wagner (2007-2009), tentando compreender em que medida elas se aproximam ou se afastam. Para tanto, elegem-se quatro categorias (definição de cultura; conjunto de formulações e ações desenvolvidas ou que serão implementadas; objetivos e metas; instrumentos, meios e recursos acionados) dentro do padrão analítico de comparação entre políticas culturais proposto por Rubim (2007c). Pretende-se realizar a análise a partir de levantamento bibliográfico e realização de entrevistas estruturadas.

The Toulon-Verona Conference was founded in 1998 by prof. Claudio Baccarani of the University of Verona, Italy, and prof. Michel Weill of the University of Toulon, France. It has been organized each year in a different place in Europe in cooperation with a host university (Toulon 1998, Verona 1999, Derby 2000, Mons 2001, Lisbon 2002, Oviedo 2003, Toulon 2004, Palermo 2005, Paisley 2006, Thessaloniki 2007, Florence, 2008). Originally focusing on higher education institutions, the research themes have over the years been extended to the health sector, local government, tourism, logistics, banking services. Around a hundred delegates from about twenty different countries participate each year and nearly one thousand research papers have been published over the last ten years, making of the conference one of the major events in the field of quality in services.

Research on bicultural couples has mainly been conducted in the USA and is primarily focused on interracial couples. The main challenge for biracial couples according literature on the subject is dealing with racism (Batson et al., 2006; Bischoff, 2005; Bratter & King, 2008; Firmin & Firebaugh, 2008; Hibbler & Shinew, 2002; Jacobson & Heaton, 2008; Kalmijn & van Tubergen, 2006; Killian, 2003; Thompson & Collier, 2006; Yancey, 2007). Few studies address cultural differences (Rodríguez García, 2006), including dating/cohabiting bicultural couples (Firmin & Firebaugh, 2008; Yancey, 2007). In China, the bicultural couple rate is increasing along with the immigrant flow. Unfortunately the divorce rate among the bicultural couples is similarly rising (De- Hart & Zhang, 2010; Li, 2004). Although the non-Chinese members of the bicultural relationship in China can come from various nations, very few empirical studies have been conducted in English on this group. Results from the literature suggest that individuals entering bicultural relationships are often motivated by factors such as physical or sexual attraction (Blakely, 1999), curiosity (Morgan, 2007), or to complement or avoid negative same-culture traits (Constable, 2003; Morgan). For the Chinese partner, in addition, avoiding a controlling Chinese mother in-law has been listed as a motivation factor (Lim, 2011). Furthermore, a common Western assumption is that Asians mainly show an interest in forming romantic bicultural relationships in order to acquire a foreign passport and financial benefits, whereas there is a Western notion of Western males forming relationships with Asian women in order to find submissive females (Constable). Pan (2000), however discovered a new trend whereby, as a result of China’s economic growth, Chinese males are growing in popularity and are now regarded as financially resourceful. Same-culture couples have in previous studies been found to have the greatest satisfaction level (Fu, Tora & Kendall, 2001). Complications addressed as some of the main reasons to avoid bicultural relationships are associated with cultural differences (Morgan, 2007) and language barriers (Constable, 2003; Morgan, 2008). Additional factors impacting the bicultural couples include: culturally defined variances in gender roles (Kalmijn & van Tubergen, 2007; Morgan, 2008, Qian, 1997; Rodríguez García, 2006), geographical location (South and town area) (Johnson & Jacobson, 2005; Killian, 2003),

Este artigo objetiva socializar resultado de uma pesquisa sobre como as representações docentes se relacionam com o desenvolvimento das práticas letradas na educação básica. Trata-se de seus reflexos sobre tarefas, ações e atividades que compõem o trabalho docente. Suas bases teóricas são: interação social (VOLOCHÍNOV, 2004; BAKHTIN, 2003), elementos socio-históricos e culturais para o desenvolvimento das pessoas (VIGOTSKY, 1987; BRONCKART, 2006, 2014), o trabalho docente (MACHADO; ABREU-TARDELLI, 2005), Teoria das Representações Sociais (MOSCOVICI, 2007; PY, 2004; GUARESCHI, 2000), gênero textual (KLEIMAN; CECINEROS; TINOCO, 2013; DOLZ; NOVERRAZ; SCHNEUWLY, 2004) e de Letramentos (KLEIMAN, 2007). Relata aspectos de um estudo de caso/ etnográfico, desenvolvido em instituições públicas. Os dados – advindos de entrevistas, questionários, Projeto Político-Pedagógico de cada escola e diário de campo da pesquisadora - foram examinados sob a ótica da Análise do Discurso (ORLANDI, 1996, 2011, 2003; AUTHIER-REVUZ, 1990) e da Semântica Argumentativa (DUCROT, 1987; KOCH, 1996). Revelam que as RS que interferem no agir docente refletindo sobre o trabalho coletivo, o planejamento cotidiano e recai sobre as práticas didáticas desenvolvidas no interior da escola. Tais interferências expressam, concomitantemente, um movimento de manutenção e de mudança sobre as próprias representações e sobre as práticas profissionais. Os docentes vêem-se interpelados pelas injunções e negociações que restringem as próprias ações. Essas restrições manifestam-se nos processos de planejamentos coletivos e individuais e expressam contradições diante dos objetivos enfim, os professores encontram possibilidades para agir na direção de mudanças e/ou transformações marcadas pelos posicionamentos.

Анотація:

This chapter links macro-level social cohesion to individual value preferences. It explores the predictive, concomitant, and consequential character of cohesion in relation to individual value preferences. Is it that prior cohesion predicts later value preferences? Or is it that certain earlier value preferences impact later social cohesion? Or is there, if at all, only contemporaneous covariation? To answer these research questions, ESS values data from rounds 1-4 (2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008 waves) were separately linked with country-level social cohesion scores from (1) a prior time period, (2) the same time period, and (3) a later time period [e.g., ESS values data from 2008 were linked with social cohesion scores from (1) 1996-2003, (2) 2004-2008, and (3) 2009- 2012]. Multilevel regression analyses show that conservation and self-enhancement values are negatively related to social cohesion, whereas self-transcendence and openness values exhibit a positive relationship. Evidence remains inconclusive with respect to the causal direction. If one wants to interpret small differences between the obtained coefficients, it seems that security values are rather a consequence than a concomitant or cause of cohesion whereas for self-direction we rather find a vice-versa relationship.

Assessment of student learning outcomes plays an important role in educational effectiveness, improvement, and sustainability that is increasingly being recognized and required by accrediting bodies (Buzzetto-More, 2006; Haken, 2006). A form of performance-based assessment that is growing in popularity and is heralded for its purposeful, dynamic, and integrated nature is the portfolio (Cooper, 1999; ePort, 2003; Paulson, Paulson, & Meyer, 1991). Electronic portfolios encourage students to engage in self reflection by providing a broad range of means for expressing the total learning experience as linked to standards and learning outcomes (AAHE, 2001; Barett, 2004; ePort, 2003; Martell & Calderon, 2005; Popper, 2005). They are an effective form of assessment that encourages students and educators to examine skills that may not be otherwise accessed using traditional means such as higher order thinking, communications, and collaborative abilities (Buzzetto-More, 2006; Wright, 2004). Electronic portfolios can be created using tools ranging from off-the-shelf generic software applications to widely available systems. This paper will focus on the latter by investigating the eight most widely available systems and by providing a detailed examination of their platform features. A matrix has been provided that offers a side-by-side comparison of the platforms by a variety of features that include: learning outcomes, rubrics, storage, support, assessments, surveys, advisement, communication, collaboration, data collection/reporting, intended user, supporting file types, pricing structure, and accessibility.

Анотація:

High pressure gradient driven micro-channel flow modelling with very the high ratios of absolute pressure and temperature (see Agrawal et al. 2005 [1]) define the difference between physical and computational results using continuum approaches (see Maurer et al. 2003, Durst et al. 2006, Dongari et al. 2008 [3, 4, 8]). In the present paper this deviation of the computational results is explained by the statistical correlation of the molecular number density and the single molecule velocity inside a compressible gas flow. Classical solutions of Navier-Stokes equations do not satisfy the physical conditions of compressible, dilute molecular flows (see Brenner 2005, Greenshields and Reese 2007, Mizzi et al. 2008 [2, 6, 9]). Furthermore the consistent entropy production and the comparison between macroscopic physical values and the molecular diffusion closure are shown. Finally the computational results using this statistical model are compared with algebraic solutions verifying the thermodynamic consistence of the present statistical moment closure model.

This study aims at analyzing the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment and Growth in Turkey by using Threshold Cointegration. As the studies about the impact of Foreign Direct Investment on growth are surveyed, it is seen that all of them uses liner methods except two. Starting point of these studies that use liner methods are the positive relationship between Growth and Foreign Direct Investment. As such, Yılmaz and Barbaros (2006) find positive relationship between Foreign Direct Investment and market size in Turkey between 1980 and 2001. Erdal and Tatoğlu (2002) reach the same conclusion for the period of 1980-1998 by using real Gross Domestic Product as a proxy for market size. Deichmann, Karidis and Sayek (2003) find positive linkage between Foreign Direct Investment and Gross Domestic Product in Turkey by using Conditional Logit Model. Bildirici and Bozoklu (2008) find positive relationship between growth and Foreign Direct Investment by using Markov Switching Vector Auto Regression method. Katırcıoğlu (2009) analyses the connection between Foreign Direct Investment and economic development by using Auto Regressive Distributed Lag and indicates that economic development causes net Foreign Direct Investment. Darrat and Sarkar (2009) state the affirmative effects of the Foreign Direct Investment on growth as expected theoretically. Bildirici, Bozoklu (2008) find positive relationship between growth and Foreign Direct Investment in Turkey. Bildirici, Alp and Kayıkçı (2010) state the existence of threshold effect for these variables. This study intends to research this effect in historical perspective, using Threshold Cointegration Analysis.

Анотація:

Reliability data on MEMS accelerometers operating in harsh environments is scarce. Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) are used in a variety of military and automotive applications for sensing acceleration, translation, rotation, pressure and sound. This research work focuses on dual axis MEMS accelerometer reliability in harsh environments. Structurally an accelerometer behaves like a damped mass on a spring. Commercially there are three types of accelerometers namely piezoelectric, piezoresistive and capacitive depending on the components that go into the fabrication of the MEMS device. Previously, majority of concentration was focused on an effective internal design, performance enhancement of CMOS-MEMS accelerometers and packaging techniques Cheng [2002], Qiao [2009], Lou [2005], and Weigold [2001]. Studies have also been conducted to obtain an enhanced inertial mass SOI MEMS process using a high sensitivity accelerometer Jianbing [2013], Chen [2005]. There have been prior test(s) conducted on MEMS accelerometers, Jiang [2004], Cao [2011], Chun-Sun [2009], Lou [2009], Tanner [2000] and Yang [2010] but the availability of data on reliability degradation of such devices in harsh environments Brown [2003] is almost little to none which thereby generates the importance of this work and also makes way for a whole new path involving the reliability assessment techniques for MEMS devices. Concentration of our work is primarily on the reliability of this accelerometer upon sequential exposure to harsh environment(s) and drop-shock. Reliability of accelerometers in high G environments is unknown. The effects of these pre-conditions along with the drop test condition has been studied and analyzed. In this piece of research work, a test vehicle with a MEMS accelerometer, ADXL278 dual axis capacitive accelerometer, has been tested under high/low temperature exposure followed by subjection to high-g and low-g shock loading environments. The test boards have been subjected to mechanical shocks using the method 2002.5, condition G, under the standard MIL-STD-883H test. The stress environment and the test condition used for this paper are 1500g and 70g respectively where 70g is the full scale range output of ADXL278 in the drop direction with pulse duration set to 0.5millisecond. The deterioration of the accelerometer output has been characterized using the techniques of Mahalanobis distance and Confidence intervals. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) has been used to study the different failure modes inside of the accelerometer, which were potted and polished and later de-capped. Furthermore, the non-destructive evaluations of the MEMS accelerometer have been demonstrated through X-rays and micro-CT scans.

Анотація:

The water balance of agro ecological systems is a key parameter for most physical and physiological processes with the system soil–crop–climate. Therefore it is of great importance to calculate the water budget parameters in the required scale. The field study was conducted in the period of 2002–2005. Seedlings were planted in Irrigation engineering department experimental fields at the Lithuanian University of Agriculture. Seedlings were grown under standard nursery cultural practices until being transplanted into new fields in mid April 2002 and 2004. The research site contains evaporators and 8 lysimeters in which spruce seedlings were grown and studied. Lysimeters amount 42 m2 and 30 m2. At 2002, field No.1 was irrigated 8 times, irrigation norm was 250 m3 ha-1 and seedling got 2000 m3 ha-1 water. Field No.2 was irrigated 6 times, irrigation norm – 1500 m3 ha-1. In 2003 fields No. 1 and No. 2 were irrigated 4 times and seedlings got 1000 m3 ha-1 water. At 2004, field No.1 was irrigated 8 times, irrigation norm was 250 m3 ha-1 and seedling got 2000 m3 ha-1 water. Field No.2 was irrigated 6 irrigation norm – 1500 m3 ha-1. The total evapotranspiration of the first year seedlings planted in the field No.1 in 2004 made up 323 mm. The total evapotranspiration of the seedlings growing in variant No. 2 was 307 mm in 2004 and it is by 16 mm less as compared to variant No.1.

Comprehension of academic literature is a key element in the immersion of university students in the academic subcultures of each discipline (Chanock, 2001; Estienne & Carlino, 2004; Gottschalk & Hjortshoj, 2004). To do so, universities opt for the implementation of text discussion such as book clubs (Hartley, 2002; Long, 2003), dialogic literary gatherings (Flecha, 2000; Mirceva & Larena, 2010). or literary circles (Daniels, 2002; Duncan, 2012).This case study, essentially qualitative, seeks to know the impact of text discussions on the professional identity of the students of Teacher Education and Computer Science at the University of Andorra (UdA). Results are obtained by student focus groups, the Likert test Motivational Survey on Academic Reading, teacher interviews and taking notes in situ throughout the discussions.The main results indicate that the text discussions have a positive impact on students as (1) it increases the reflection, understanding and critique of the professional world, (2) they apply evidence-based content in professional contexts and (3) it improves the justification of informed professional decisions.

Анотація:

This Country Program Evaluation (RE-365) covers the period 2003-2008, which was marked by the consequences of Jamaica's financial crisis which had erupted in 1995. During the crisis, the Bank remained the major multilateral partner engaged in the country. However, it underestimated the impact of the crisis, which left a legacy of debt overhang that continues to dominate and constrain the country's performance. Specifically, the Bank failed to recognize until quite late that the need to meet debt payments would require strong adjustment measures, undermining the public investment program. In light of Jamaica's continuing high level of public debt and economic vulnerabilities, the Country Program Evaluation makes a series of recommendations which are detailed in the paper.
