Background:In RMDs, the physician’s global assessment (PhGA) is a major factor of treatment decision. It is not well-known which disease manifestations contribute to PhGA in early axSpA and if contextual factors have an impact.Objectives:To investigate determinants of PhGA and the influence of contextual factors on this relationship in patients with early axSpA.Methods:Five-year data from DESIR, a cohort of early axSpA, were analysed. Clinical data were collected every 6 months up to 2 years and annually thereafter. The primary analysis included all patients, and the subgroup analysis patients with follow-up MRI at 2 and/or 5 years. PhGA over 5 years was the outcome of interest. Univariable generalized estimating equation (GEE) models were used to investigate relationships between potential determinants and PhGA. Longitudinal relationships were investigated in autoregressive models. Effect modification by contextual factors (educational level, gender and age) was tested and, if significant, models were stratified. Univariable analyses were chosen to better assess the contributory explanatory effects of each of the determinants in each of the strata.Results:A total of 708 patients were included, mean age 33.7 (SD 8.6) years, 46% male, 41% lower educated. The subgroup consisted of 220 patients with similar characteristics. Higher BASDAI questions 1-6, SJC28, TJC53, Maastricht Ankylosing Spondylitis Enthesitis Score (MASES), CRP and BASMI were associated with a higher PhGA (Table 1). Gender and age were effect modifiers of SJC28; the effect was largest in the younger male stratum (β [95% CI]; 1.07 [0.71, 1.43]), and smallest in the older female stratum (0.13 [0.04, 0.22]) (Figure 1). Present study was conducted to evaluate nutritional values of smoked hilsa fish (Tenualosa ilisha; Hamilton, 1882) in relation to its raw condition. Smoking is one of the processes of fish preservation from ancient period of our country. The nutrients values of the hilsa from two different regions were significantly (p < 0.05) varied. The nutritional values were different before and after processing of hilsa. Riverine hilsa contains relatively more moisture (56.45 ± 0.51%) and protein (15.98 ± 0.50%) than marine hilsa. Fat (16.18 ± 0.45%) and salt (1.92 ± 0.18%) contents are higher in marine hilsa; whereas ash (8.34 ± 0.35%) content was higher in riverine hilsa. Minerals like iron (4.72 ± 0.08 mg/100 g) and calcium (481.77 ± 6.20 mg/100g) remain in large amount on marine hilsa but phosphorus (115.73 ± 4.36 mg/100 g) content remain high level in riverine hilsa. In addition, the protein (raw condition, 19.54 ± 0.47%, riverine; 17.12 ± 0.42%, marine and smoked condition, 29.64 ± 0.41%, riverine; 28.51 ± 0.51%, marine) and fat (raw condition, 16.41 ± 0.46%, riverine; 20.07 ± 0.39%, marine and smoked condition, 20.71 ± 0.47%, riverine; 23.31 ± 0.47%, marine) content were higher in abdominal region of riverine and marine hilsa both raw and smoked condition than head region (protein in raw condition, 11.21 ± 0.51%, riverine; 10.51 ± 0.53%, marine and smoked condition, 17.14 ± 0.42%, riverine; 15.69 ± 0.4%, marine; fat in raw condition, 9.04 ± 0.45%, riverine; 11.21 ± 0.51%, marine and smoked condition, 12.32 ± 0.44%, riverine; 14.56 ± 0.47%, marine) and caudal region (protein in raw condition17.21 ± 0.52%, riverine; 15.22 ± 0.66%, marine and smoked condition, 27.68 ± 0.44%, riverine; 26.73 ± 0.46%, marine; fat in raw condition, 14.05 ± 0.5%, riverine; 17.28 ± 0.47%, marine and smoked condition, 17.35 ± 0.43%, riverine; 19.18 ± 0.51%, marine). The purpose of our study was to examine the occurrence of osteoporotic fractures (fxs) according to the level of physical activity (PA) among osteoporosis using the Korean National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) customized database. From NHIS data from 2009 to 2017, osteoporosis was selected as requested. PA was classified into ‘high PA’ (n = 58,620), ‘moderate PA’ (n = 58,620), and ‘low PA’ (n = 58,620) and were matched in a 1:1:1 ratio by gender, age, income within the household unit, and region of residence. A stratified Cox proportional hazard model was used to calculate hazard ratios (HRs) for each type of fx comparing PA groups. The ‘low PA’ group was the reference group. For vertebral fx, the adjusted HR (95% confidence intervals (CIs)) was 0.27 (0.26–0.28) for the ‘high PA’ group and 0.43 (0.42–0.44) for the ‘moderate PA’ group. For hip fx, the adjusted HR (95% CIs) was 0.37 (0.34–0.40) for the ‘high PA’ group and 0.51 (0.47–0.55) for the ‘moderate PA’ group. For distal radius fx, the adjusted HR (95% CIs) was 0.32 (0.30–0.33) for the ‘high PA’ group and 0.46 (0.45–0.48) for the ‘moderate PA’ group. The results of this study suggest that a higher intensity of PA is associated with a lower risk of osteoporotic fxs, including vertebral fx, hip fx, and distal radius fx.

Abstract The somatic mutation V617F of JAK2 gene has been identified as a pathogenic factor in typical chronic myeloproliferative diseases (MPDs), in particular polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and myelofibrosis with myeloid metaplasia. Recently, two studies showed the presence of this mutation also in 37/3935 subjects with non haematological diseases (Xu et al, 2006) and 5/52 healthy donors (Sidon et al, 2006), suggesting that V617F mutation may occur in the absence of MPD phenotype and that probably is not sufficient per se to induce MPDs. The aim of this study was to search for the presence of JAK2 V617F mutation in healthy blood donors with confirmed upper-limit Hct and/or Plts values. Actually, previous studies indicated that some subjects with upper-limit Hct levels have early stages of polycythemia vera (Zanella et al, 1987). We studied 177 consecutive repeat blood donors (92 M, 85 F; median age 45 years, range 19–66) displaying Hct and/or Plts values higher than the 75° percentile of the normal reference distribution (Hct &gt; 0.47 for M and &gt; 0.42 for F; Plts &gt; 300×109/L), confirmed on at least two different occasions in the last 12 months. All subjects had been accepted for blood donation on the basis of negative clinical history and normal results on both physical examination and routine laboratory testing. 83 of them (55 M and 28 F) had upper-limit Hct levels (median 0.48, range 0.47-0.51 for M; 0.43, range 0.42-0.47 for F); 85 had Plts &gt; 300×109/L (median 338×109/L, range 300–454), and 9 donors had both upper-limit Hct and Plts. DNA was extracted from whole blood; all samples were analyzed by allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) according to Baxter et al (2005), and by fluorescent allele specific PCR (McClure et al, 2006) on ABI PRISM 310 Genetic Analyzer. Ten subjects were found to be positive for V617F mutation by fluorescent PCR, showing a positive signal when compared to a positive control corresponding to 2% of V617F mutated allele. Six of them showed a positive band also on agarose gel when analyzed with allele specific PCR. The presence of mutation was confirmed by enzymatic digestion with BsaXI. Hematological data of mutated subject are reported in the table. No statistically significant differences of hematological parameters were present between V617F positive and negative subjects. In conclusion, the presence of a V617F positive clone (albeit in a small amount), was found in 4% (3 F and 1 M) donors with upper-limit Hct and in 6% (2 F, 4 M) donors with Plts &gt; 300×109/L. The follow up of these subjects will ascertain whether V617F mutation is a prelude to a myeloproliferative disease. Temporo-spatial parameters (TSP) are commonly used to characterize human gait. These help to differentiate population groups in different conditions of gait, but can be influenced by lower limb anthropometry. Different strategies are assumed to normalize TSP and permit comparison among people. However, it is not clear how dimensions of the different lower limb segments influence gait TSP. The aim of this study was to verify the relationship between gait TSP and length of the thigh, leg and foot in young adults. The body segments lengths were adjusted for individual height and correlated with gait TSP. We found a correlation between foot length and step width (r = 0.44). When data were adjusted for gender, step time, stride time, cadence and gait speed correlated with foot length in men (r = 0.51, 0.49, -0.49 and -0.43, respectively). Among women, these same TSP correlated only with thigh length (r = 0.43, 0.46, -0.47 and -0.37, respectively). Step and stride length correlated with leg (r = 0.46 and 0.48) and thigh length (r = 0.44 and 0.44) only in men. In conclusion, anthropometric parameters influence TSP differentially for men and women. These data should be considered when studying population groups including people from both genders.Resumen. Los parámetros temporo-espaciales (PTE) son comúnmente usados para caracterizar la marcha humana. Estos ayudan a diferenciar grupos de poblaciones en diferentes condiciones de marcha, pero pueden ser influenciados por la antropometría de miembro inferior. Diferentes estrategias asumen la normalización de PTE y permiten comparar entre personas. Sin embargo, no está claro como las dimensiones de los diferentes segmentos de miembro inferior influyen los PTE en la marcha. El objetivo de este estudio fue verificar la relación entre los PTE de la marcha y la longitud del muslo, pierna y pie en adultos jóvenes. Las longitudes de los segmentos corporales fueron ajustadas por la altura de cada persona y correlacionadas con los PTE de la marcha. Se encontró una correlación entre la longitud del pie y el ancho del paso (r= 0.44). Cuando los datos fueron ajustados por género, el tiempo del paso, tiempo de la zancada, cadencia y velocidad de la marcha correlacionaron con la longitud del pie en hombres (r = 0.51, 0.49, -0.49 and -0.43, respectivamente). Abstract Experimental and clinical data show that bone marrow-derived stem cells (BMSC) can contribute to myocardial regeneration after ischemic injury. We present results of intracoronary infusion of autologous BMSCs in treatment of patients (pts) with acute myocardial infarction (MI). 36 pts with first, anterior wall MI, successfully treated with percutaneous coronary angioplasty were enrolled into the study. 24 pts, aged 50.1±9.05 yrs received intracoronary BMSC infusion 4 to 7 days after MI. Control group consisted of 12 pts, aged 51.6±8.7 yrs. In BMSC group BM in total volume 80 (50–150) ml was collected from iliac crest to buffered saline with heparine. After isolation and 18–24 hrs cultivation BMSCs were resuspended in autologous plasma in final volume 12.25±2.05 ml. The mean number of MNC, CD34+, CD133+/CD45+ and CD133+/CD45− cells were respectively: 0.41±0.18x10e9, 3.89±1.45x10e6, 0.96±0.6x10e6, 0.15±0.1x10e6. Transplanted material was divided into 3–5 portion and injected directly to infarcted area (Strauer method). Left ventricular function was evaluated by echocardiography (contactility index, CI), Tc-99 MIBI SPECT (perfusion index, PI) at rest (R) and with dipiridamol (D) and radionuclide ventriculography (ejection fraction, EF) at baseline and after 3, 6, 12 months (mo). CI and PI were assessed in left ventricle and infarct related artery (IRA) area. Control coronary angiography was performed after 6 mo. No adverse effects of BM aspiration in early MI were observed. One pts revealed chills and fever and 1 acute pulmonary oedema after cell infusion. Control angiography revealed restenosis in 3 pts from BMSC and 2 from control group. Results of cardiac test are presented in table. Conclusions: Intracoronary autologous BMNCs transplantation is safe and feasible. Improvement of left ventricular function was observed in BMSC group, mainly concerning perfusion. No accelerated atherosclerosis was seen after intracoronary BMSC administration. Objectives The carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and carotid arterial stiffness index (CASI) act as the surrogate markers of atherosclerosis. We aim to assess CIMT and CASI in pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods Patients ≤ 20 years old fulfilling diagnostic criteria for SLE were enrolled. Patients with active smoking, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, arterial thrombosis, family history of hypercholesterolemia, chronic liver disease, or other chronic severe diseases were excluded. The patients were categorized into four groups: active SLE, age- and sex-matched control (control A), inactive SLE, and age- and sex-matched control (control I), according to the Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI). All subjects underwent ultrasound of carotid arteries to evaluate CIMT and CASI. Results One hundred and two SLE patients (26 active and 76 inactive) and one hundred and three healthy controls (26 control A and 77 control I) were enrolled. The median CIMT in all groups were not significantly different (0.43, 0.41–0.44; 0.43, 0.41–0.44; 0.42, 0.41–0.43; and 0.42, 0.41–0.43 mm, respectively).The CASI in active SLE (13.5, 11.4–17.3) was significantly higher than in control A (8.2, 7.2–9.2) ( p < 0.0001), whereas CASI in inactive SLE (12.7, 10.9–15.7) was significantly higher than in control I (8.9, 7.6–9.8). However, the CASI in active and inactive SLE was not significantly different. Conclusions The higher CASI in active and inactive pediatric SLE, implying functional change of carotid arteries, may be early evidence of increased atherosclerosis in pediatric SLE. This functional dysfunction has been found both in inactive and active SLE.

Heritabilities and correlations of Warner-Bratzler shear force (WBSF), marbling score (MS), hot carcass weight (HCW),12–13th rib-fat (FAT), and ribeye area (REA) were calculated from 3360 Angus-, Charolais-, Hereford-, and Simmental-sired cattle in the C attleman’s Beef Board Carcass Merit Project. The heritabilities (± SE) for WBSF, MS, HCW, FAT, and REA were 0.34 ± 0.25, 0.43 ± 0.28, 0.73 ± 0.35, 0.16 ± 0.19, and 0.56 ± 0.31 in Angus; 0.43 ± 0.22, 0.30 ± 0.18, 0.21 ± 0.16, 0.35 ± 0.20, and 0.23 ± 0.16 in Charolais; 0.12 ± 0.11, 0.55 ± 0.22, 0.20 ± 0.14, 0.25 ± 0.15 and 0.34 ± 0.17 in Hereford; and 0.16 ± 0.14, 0.44 ± 0.20, 0.45 ± 0.20, 0.23 ± 0.16, and 0.30 ± 0.18 in Simmental. The genetic correlations, averaged across analysis type, for WBSF-MS, WBSF-HCW, WBSF-FAT, WBSF-REA, MS-HCW, MS-FAT, MS-REA, HCW-FAT, HCW-REA, and FAT-REA were -0.17, 0.32, -0.23, 0.30, 0.10, -0.17, 0.39, -0.15, 0.68, and -0.86 in Angus; -0.42, 0.77, 0.52, -0.05, -0.44, -0.22, -0.19, 0.66, -0.05, and -0.24 in Charolais; -0.43, -0.04, -0.33, 0.09, 0.08, 0.79, -0.14, -0.26, 0.50, and -0.38 in Hereford; and 0.55, 0.08, 0.62, -0.08, 0.30, 0.61, -0.14, 0.06, 0.65, and -0.48 in Simmental. We investigated whether interrater reliabilities of the AO/OTA classification of patellar fracture change with the imaging modalities applied, including plain radiography and two- and three-dimensional (2-D and 3-D) computed tomography (CT). Seven orthopedic specialists and four orthopedic residents completed a survey of 50 patellar fractures to classify the fractures according to the AO/OTA classification for patellar fractures. Initially, the survey was conducted using plain radiography only, then with 2-D CT introduced three weeks later and 3-D CT introduced six weeks later. Fleiss’ Kappa coefficients were calculated to determine interrater reliability. The overall interrater reliability of the AO/OTA classifications was 0.40 (95% CI, 0.38–0.42) with plain radiography only and 0.43 (95% CI, 0.41–0.45) with the addition of 2-D CT. With the addition of 3-D CT, the reliability was significantly improved to 0.54 (95% CI, 0.52–0.56). In specialists, interrater reliability of the classifications was moderate with all three imaging modalities. With the use of 3-D CT, interrater reliability of the classification was 0.53 (95% CI, 0.50–0.56), which was significantly higher than that with the use of 2-D CT (κ = 0.45; 95% CI, 0.42–0.48). In residents, interrater reliability of the classification was 0.30 (95% CI, 0.24–0.36) with plain radiography. The reliability improved to 0.49 (95% CI, 0.43–0.56) with the addition of 2-D CT, which was significantly higher than that with plain radiography only. The use of 3-D CT imaging improved interrater reliability of the classification. Therefore, surgeons, especially residents, may benefit from using 3-D CT imaging for classifying and planning the treatment of patellar fractures.

Background: Lateral discoid meniscus (LDM) often present with complex morphology that can be challenging to assess and treat arthroscopically. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is frequently used for diagnosis and surgical planning, however it is not known whether surgeons are reliable and consistent in their interpretation of MRI findings. Hypothesis/Purpose: We hypothesize that surgeons experienced in treating LDM are able to reliably interpret discoid pathology using MRI, with the exception of evaluating dynamic factors (i.e. instability). Methods: Forty five discoid meniscus MRI selected from a pool of surgical discoid meniscus cases were included in this review. Five reviewers (experienced pediatric sports medicine surgeons) who were not involved in the MRI selection process performed independent review of each MRI to determine discoid meniscus classification. More than 4 weeks later, a second reading was performed by 3 of the 5 reviewers. Interobserver and intraobserver reliability of the primary (width, presence of instability or tear) and secondary (location of instability or tear, tear type) rating factors was assessed using the Fleiss κ coefficient, designed for multiple readers with nominal variables (reliability: fair, 0.21–0.40; moderate, 0.41–0.60; substantial, 0.61–0.80; excellent, 0.81–1.00). Reliability is reported as κ (95% CI). Results: Interobserver reliability of assessment of meniscal width was substantial 0.67 (0.58-0.76), and intraobserver was moderate 0.52 (0.35-0.69). Assessment of presence of peripheral instability had moderate interobserver reliability 0.54 (0.45-0.63) and substantial intraobserver 0.61 (0.44-0.78). Presence of tear had fair interobserver reliability 0.39 (0.29–0.48) and substantial intraobserver 0.68 (0.51-0.85). When identifying location of instability or tear, interobserver reliability was moderate while intraobserver agreement was substantial for assessment of anterior instability (0.47 (0.37-0.56) and 0.68 (0.51-0.85), respectively); posterior instability (0.56 (0.47-0.65) and 0.62 (0.45-0.79), respectively); and posterior tear (0.41 (0.32-0.50) and 0.69 (0.52-0.86), respectively). The exception was identifying anterior tear, with fair interobserver reliability 0.33 (0.23-0.42) and moderate intraobserver 0.56 (0.39-0.73); Interobserver reliability was fair for tear type 0.34 (0.28-0.41) and intraobserver reliability moderate 0.55 (0.43-0.67). Conclusion: Orthopaedic surgeons experienced in the treatment of LDM vary from each other in their classification using MRI, especially with regard to assessment of meniscus tears. MRI evaluation may be helpful to diagnose discoid by width and identify presence of instability, two major factors in the decision to proceed with surgery. However, definitive treatment should be guided by a comprehensive arthroscopic evaluation.

Диссертация посвящена разработке научных подходов к повышению быстродействия передачи мультимедийных данных в компьютерных сетях авиатранспортного комплекса. На основании изучения современных методов передачи данных установлено, что в условиях повышенной интенсивности большого объема потока данных, используемые в настоящее время методы сжатия и управления компьютерными ресурсами не позволяют обеспечить быстродействие при передаче мультимедийных данных в компьютерных сетях авиатранспортного комплекса. Исследование основных методов сжатия и алгоритмов управления компьютерными ресурсами позволили определить основные направления научного исследования и сформулировать задачу повышения быстродействия передачи мультимедийных данных в компьютерных сетях авиатранспортного комплекса. Обоснован выбор дискретного преобразования Хартли в качестве основного при разработке модели сжатия данных. Определена взаимосвязь между дискретным преобразованием Хартли и методом моментов. Решается задача усовершенствования дискретного преобразования Хартли для сжатия данных, путем применения новой системы расчета, в основу которой положен метод моментов, а именно модульное сопоставление функций. Разработанная систолическая система вычисления одномерного дискретного преобразования Хартли позволяет снизить вычислительную сложность алгоритма до 7-10 %. Предложенный в работе метод динамического управления ресурсами компьютерной системы систем критического применения, основанный на модели прогнозирования краткосрочной нагрузки и распределения компьютерных ресурсов позволяет учесть свойства фрактальности компьютерных сетевых структур авиатранспортного комплекса и повысить быстродействие передачи данных до 1.4 раз. Для обоснования достоверности полученных результатов проведено имитационное моделирование процесса сжатия данных и управления ресурсами в компьютерных сетях систем критического применения. Показано, что большинстве предложенных тестовых ситуаций "расчетные" кривые, полученные в соответствии с разработанной в работе математической моделью, в большинстве практических случаев попадают в "усредненный" доверительный интервал. Высокая степень совпадения результатов имитационного и математического моделирования подтверждают достоверность разработанной математической модели подсистемы сжатия данных, прогнозирования и управления в компьютерных сетях авиатранспортного комплекса.

Based on the study of modern methods of transmitting data is established that in conditions of high intensity large volume of data flow, the currently used compression techniques and management of computer resources do not allow to provide efficiency in the transmission of multimedia data in computer networks, air transport infrastructure. The choice of the discrete Hartley transform as the core in developing the model statku multimedia data. Establishes the relationship between the discrete Hartley transform and Hartley method. It is determined that the systolic system for the computation of one-dimensional discrete Hartley transform allows to reduce the computational complexity of the algorithm to 7 -10%. The developed method of dynamic resource management computer system aviation complex model-based forecasting of short term loads and the distribution of computing resources, which allowed us to consider the properties of fractal network structures in the air transport sector and to improve performance of multimedia data transfer in 1.4 times and develop automated software tool for information management in computer networks with the features of multimedia content.

In condensed matter physics we study the behavior of crystals at finite density and low temperatures. By tuning and breaking the various materials, symmetries, and the topology of a crystal one can bring about brand new quantum phases of matter. These new phases of matter in turn produce emergent quasiparticles such as the cooper pair in superconductivity, the spinon in magnetic systems, and the Fermi arcs in Weyl semimetals. Of particular interest are systems in which superconductivity interacts with topology. These systems have been theoretically predicted to produce anyonic quasiparticles which may be used as qubits in a future fault-tolerant quantum computer. However, these ideas usually require the use of the superconducting proximity effect to inject cooper pairs into the topological system. This in turn requires interfacing two different materials which not only requires extremely clean interfaces, but also matching Fermi surfaces, comparable Fermi velocities, and more. The ideal candidate for topological superconductivity would therefore be a material that is both superconducting and topologically non-trivial. One promising candidate is the iron-based superconductor FeTe(1−x)Sex, specifically at the FeTe0.55Se0.45 (FTS) doping which also has non-trivial topology. In this dissertation, we address the fabrication of pristine interfaces using a new tool as well as new probes into the topology of FTS. In Chapter II we discuss the motivation, construction, and use of the “cleanroomin-a-glovebox”. This tool places an entire nanofabrication workflow into an inert argon atmosphere which has allowed us access to study a myriad of new materials and systems. A delightful offshoot of this glovebox is that it is a useful tool in training new scientists in fabrication techniques. The photolithography, Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), and characterization tools in the glovebox are designed to be easy to use and thus afford new users a low-risk method of learning new techniques. In chapter III we discuss a specific example of a new quantum phase of matter e.g. topological superconductivity in FTS. There, I discuss the fabrication requirements to probe this elusive phase as well as the unique measurement technique used to provide evidence that FTS is a higher-order topological superconductor. The characterization of FTS continues in Chapter IV where we reveal some exciting new results in the FTS system. These new results are direct evidence for the topological nature of FTS, a feat which has only been shown in Angle-Resolved Photo Emission Spectroscopy (ARPES) and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM). Chapter V concludes the dissertation with a summary of Chapters II, III, and IV. In addition, we give suggestions for future experiments to investigate the FTS system further as well as suggestions for insightful teaching programs with the cleanroom-in-a-glovebox

Apskaičiuojami Šiaulių regiono kiekvieno rajono elektros tinklo patikimumo rodikliai, daugiausiai gendančios elektros linijos parengties ir priverstinės prastovos koeficientai bei veikimo ir gedimo tikimybės per 12 mėnesių.
This paper deals with the distribution network of 0.4 and 10 kV line fault problems based on the scientific literature and practical experience. The number of faults, the number of disconnections, the disconnections times and reasons of 0.4-10 kV grid lines of Šiauliai region have been investigated. Reliability indicators of electrical network of Šiauliai region have been calculated. Working and failure probabilities of the electrical network during 12 months have been calculated.

In recent years, microwave imaging has become a possible candidate for the early detection of breast cancer. Due to the different water content, there exists a dielectric contrast between malignant and healthy breast tissue at microwave frequencies. In addition, breast tumours appear relatively close to the skin surface, allowing low-power microwaves to penetrate through the tissue with a loss that is acceptably low to permit for a radar-like detection approach. While this imaging modality is relatively new, and a few prototypes have been reported, not many publications consider its safety. This work studies the exposure of a breast in the far field of radiofrequency sources operating in the 0.434-9-GHz range to assess the safety of a basic radar microwave imaging system. The electromagnetic fields inside a realistic MRI-derived 3-D numerical breast model has been computed using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with the help of SEMCAD-X (Schmid & Partner Engineering AG), a 3-D FDTD solver. It was used to model the resulting Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of the breast tissue exposed to a plane wave. Experimental results are presented and discussed to determine whether they comply with exposure limits from Health's Canada Safety Code 6.

Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden selbstorganisierte, verspannte InP-Quantenpunkte mittels Gasquellen-Molekularstrahlepitaxie hergestellt und deren strukturelle und optische Eigenschaften untersucht. Die Quantenpunkte wurden sowohl in InGaP-Matrix gitterangepasst auf GaAs-Substrat als auch in GaP-Matrix auf GaP-Substrat realisiert. Die starke Gitterfehlanpassung von 3,8% im InP/InGaP- bzw. 7,7% im InP/GaP-Materialsystem ermöglicht Inselbildung mittels des Stranski-Krastanow-Wachstumsmodus: Ab einer kritischen InP-Schichtdicke findet kein zweidimensionales, sondern ein dreidimensionales Wachstum statt. Die kritische Schichtdicke wurde mit etwa 3 Monolagen für das InP/InGaP- und mit etwa 1,8 Monolagen für das InP/GaP-System bestimmt. Die strukturellen Untersuchungen zeigen, dass InP Quantenpunkte in GaP im Vergleich zu solchen in InGaP größer sind und stärker zum Abbau von Verspannung tendieren. Die in InGaP-Matrix eingebettete InP-Quantenpunkte zeigen sehr ausgeprägte optische Emissionen, die, in Abhängigkeit von den Wachstumsparametern, im Bereich von 1,6 bis 1,75eV liegen. Die Emissionslinie wird der strahlenden Rekombination von in den Quantenpunkten lokalisierten Elektronen und Löchern zugeordnet. Dies wird auch durch das Bänderschema bestätigt, das mit Hilfe der Model-Solid-Theorie modelliert wurde. Darüber hinaus weist die Lebensdauer der Ladungsträger von einigen hundert Pikosekunden darauf hin, dass die InP/InGaP Quantenpunkte vom Typ I sind. Zusätzlich zu den optischen Eigenschaften wurde die Anordnung von dicht gepackten InP-Quantenpunkten in und auf InGaP mittels zweidimensionaler Fourier-Transformation der Daten aus der Atomkraftmikroskopie, Transmissionelektronmikroskopie und diverser Röntgen-Streuexperimente untersucht sowie die planaren und vertikale Ordnungseffekte der Quantenpunkte studiert. Die Untersuchungen zeigen, dass die Ordnung der Quantenpunkte sowohl hinsichtlich ihrer Packungsdichte als auch ihrer Orientierung mit wachsender InP-Bedeckung zunimmt. Darüber hinaus wurde die Verspannungsverteilung in den InP/InGaP-Quantenpunkten mit Hilfe von diffuser Röntgen-Streuung in Verbindung mit kinematischen Simulationen studiert und eine asymmetrische Form der Quantenpunkte festgestellt, die auch Ursache für die gemessene Polarisationsanisotropie der Photolumineszenz sein kann. Die in GaP-Matrix eingebetteten InP-Quantenpunkte wurden im Rahmen dieser Arbeit erstmals erfolgreich auf ihre aktiven optischen Eigenschaften hin untersucht. Sie zeigen eine optische Emission zwischen 1,9 und 2 eV im sichtbaren Bereich. Diese strahlende Rekombination wird ebenfalls dem direkten Übergang zwischen Elektronen- und Löcherzuständen zugeordnet, die in den InP Quantenpunkten lokalisiert sind. Auch Photolumineszenzmessungen unter mechanischem Druck weisen darauf hin, dass es sich in diesem System hauptsächlich um einen direkten räumlichen Übergang handelt. Dieses Ergebnis wird dadurch untermauert, dass die Lebensdauer der Ladungsträger im Bereich von etwa 2 ns liegt, was nicht untypisch für Typ-I-Systeme ist. Die Ergebnisse für zweidimensionale, in GaP eingebettete InP-Schichten zeigen im Gegensatz zu den Quantenpunkten, dass die strahlende Rekombination in InP/GaP Quantentöpfen aufgrund eines indirekten Übergangs (sowohl in Orts- als auch in Impulsraum) zwischen Elektronen- und Löcherzuständen erfolgt. Die optischen Emissionslinien liegen für Quantentöpfe im Bereich von 2,15 bis 2,30eV. Die nachgewiesene sehr lange Lebensdauer der Ladungsträger von etwa 20ns weist weiter darauf hin, dass die Quantentöpfe ein Typ-II-System sind. Nach Modellierung des Bänderschemas für das verspannte InP/GaP-System und Berechnung der Energieniveaus von Löchern und Elektronen darin mit Hilfe der Effektive-Masse-Näherung in Abhängigkeit von der InP-Schichtdicke zeigt sich ferner, dass für InP-Quantentöpfe mit einer Breite kleiner als 3nm die Quantisierungsenergie der Elektronen so groß ist, dass der X-Punkt in GaP energetisch tiefer liegt als der Gamma-Punkt in InP. Dieser Potentialverlauf führt dazu , dass die Elektronen im X-Minimum des GaP lokalisieren, während die Löcher in der InP-Schicht bleiben. Optische Untersuchungen nach thermischer Behandlung der Quantenpunkte führen sowohl im InP/InGaP- als auch im InP/GaP-System zur Verstärkung der Lumineszenz, die bis zu 15 mal internsiver als bei unbehandelten Proben sein kann. Insgesamt zeigt diese Arbeit, dass InP-Quantenpunkte durch ihre optischen Eigenschaften sehr interessant für optoelektronische Anwendungen sind. Die Verwendung von durchsichtigem GaP (mit einer größeren Bandlücke und kleineren Gitterkonstante im Vergleich zu GaAs und InGaP) als Matrix und Substrat hat nicht nur den Vorteil, dass die InP-Quantenpunkte hierbei im sichtbaren Bereich Licht emittieren, sondern man kann in der Praxis auch von einer hochentwickelten GaP-basierten LED-Technologie profitieren. Hauptergebnis dieser Arbeit ist, dass die in indirektes GaP eingebetteten InP-Quantenpunkte aktive optische Eigenschaften zeigen. Sie können daher als aktive Medien zur Realisierung neuartiger effizienter Laser und Leuchtdioden verwendet werden.
The growth and structural properties of self-assembled InP quantum dots are presented and discussed, together with their optical properties and associated carrier dynamics. The QDs are grown using gas-source molecular-beam epitaxy in and on the two materials InGaP (lattice matched to GaAs) and GaP. Under the proper growth conditions, formation of InP dots via the Stranski-Krastanow mechanism is observed. The critical InP coverage for 2D-3D transition is found to be 3ML for the InP/ InGaP system and 1.8ML for the InP/GaP system. The structural characterization indicates that the InP/GaP QDs are larger and, consequently, less dense compared to the InP/ InGaP QDs; hence, InP dots on GaP tend to be strain-relaxed. The InP/ InGaP QDs tend to form ordered arrays when InP coverage is increased. Intense photoluminescence from InP quantum dots in both material systems is observed. The PL from InP/GaP QDs peaks between 1.9 and 2 eV and is by about 200 meV higher in energy than the PL line from InP/ InGaP QDs. The optical emission from dots is attributed to direct transitions between the electrons and heavy-holes confined in the InP dots, whereas the photoluminescence from a two-dimensional InP layer embedded in GaP is explained as resulting from the spatially indirect recombination of electrons from the GaP X valleys with holes in InP and their phonon replicas. The type-II band alignment of InP/GaP two-dimensional structures is further confirmed by the carrier lifetime above 19 ns, which is much higher than in type-I systems. The observed carrier lifetimes of 100-500 ps for InP/ InGaPQDs and 2 ns for InP/GaP QDs support our band alignment modeling. Pressure-dependent photoluminescence measurements provide further evidence for a type-I band alignment for InP/GaP QDs at normal pressure, but indicate that they become type-II under hydrostatic pressures of about 1.2 GPa and are consistent with an energy difference between the lowest InP and GaP states of about 31 meV. Exploiting the visible direct-bandgap transition in the GaP system could lead to an increased efficiency of light emission in GaP-based light emitters.

We conducted the comparative analysis of bioenergetic efficiency of production of seeds of corn hybrids developed in breeding centers – participants of the Coordination Council on breeding and seed production of corn, included into the State register of breeding achievements permitted for production in the Russian Federation. We revealed corn hybrids with relatively high yield of gross energy: Neon 147 МV (71.4 GJ/ha), Katerina SV (68.4 GJ/ha), and crude protein: Neon 147 МV (0.45 t/ha), RNIISK-1 (0.43 t/ha), Baykal (0.44 t/ha).

ABSTRACT Background: Indonesia is in the fourth position with the largest population in the world (274 million people) after China, India, and the United States. Currently, Indonesia is experiencing a demographic bonus and also has a high dependency ratio (46.6%). It resulting in heavy burdens that must be borne by the productive age population to finance the lives of the unproductive population. The high population in Indonesia is determined by the high number of children born alive. The purpose of this study was to examine the determinants of fertility in Indonesia. Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted using Indonesian Population Demographic Survey year 2017. A sample of 49,627 reproductive women aged 15-49 years who had ever give birth was selected for this study. The dependent variable was fertility (based on number of children born alive). The independent variables were contaceptive use, contraceptive method, source of information, knnowledge toward contraception, history of birth delivery, and residence. The data were analyzed by path analysis run on Stata 13. Results: Fertility increased with traditional contraceptive use (b= 0.51; 95% CI= 0.41 to 0.61; p<0.001), information from government (b= 0.59; 95% CI= 0.46 to 0.72; p <0.001), low education toward contraceptive (b= 0.89; 95% CI= 0.49 to 1.29; p <0.001), birth delivery <1 year (b= 0.10; 95% CI= -0.05 to 0.25; p= 0.187), health assurance participant (b= 0.54; 95% CI= 0.44 to 0.64; p<0.001), living in urban area (b= 0.32; 95% CI= 0.22 to 0.41; p<0.001), hormonal contraceptive use (b= 0.08; 95% CI= -0.10 to 0.25; p= 0.408), and living in west Indonesian (b= 0.57; 95% CI= 0.47 to 0.66; p<0.001). Fertility decreased with family decision on contraceptive use (b= -0.31; 95% CI= -0.42 to -0.21; p<0.001), education ≥Senior high school (b= -1.25; 95% CI= -1.35 to -1.16; p<0.001), and high family wealth (b= -0.50; 95% CI= -0.60 to -0.40; p<0.001). Conclusion: Fertility increases with traditional contraceptive use, information from government, low education toward contraceptive, birth delivery <1 year, health assurance participant, living in urban area, hormonal contraceptive use, and living in west Indonesian. The biohydrogen production from food wastes by anaerobic fermentation of digested sludge is studied. It is found by gas chromatography analysis that the volumetric ratios of H2 to CO2 in the biogases derived from rice, potato, lean meat and fat are respectively 0.77, 0.82, 0.93 and 0.82. The yield of methane is quite little, because the methane-producing activity is restrained and the hydrogen-producing activity is simultaneously kept when the digested sludge is preheated in the boiling water. Ethanol (0.43%) is the highest volatile fatty acid in the fermentation solution derived from lean meat, implying that it belongs to ethanol-type fermentation. The butyric acid concentrations are the highest (respectively 0.96%, 0.44% and 0.34%) in the fermentation solutions derived from rice, potato and fat, which implies that they all belong to butyric acid-type fermentation.

Cooling holes are playing critical roles in the impingement-effusion cooling system. The present experimental investigation have studied the effects of the hole diameters on the cooling efficiency and discharge coefficient. The main flow was heated up via combustion, with a maximum outlet temperature 850K. Cooling air, on the other hand, is supplied by an MAM-200 compressor. Temperature distribution on the hot side of the effusion plate is measured by a thermal infrared imaging camera calibrated by 5 thermocouples embedded in the tested plate. A filter is used to minimize the radiation from the hot gas. Cooling holes, both the effusion holes and impingement holes are designed in staggered arrangement; and the number of effusion holes is almost equal to the impingement holes. The inclination angle of the effusion holes in the streamwise direction is 20 degree with respect to the liner surface. The pressure drop across the cooling system ranges from 3% to 5% of the total pressure of the inlet flow. Temperature distributions are measured with an infrared thermal imaging system. The length of the holes is kept to be constant. Three various effusion hole diameters/length ratio 0.3, 0.35, 0.43, with impingement hole diameters/length ratio 0.4, 0.47 and 0.6 correspondingly, have been tested and compared. The experimental results indicate that with the increasing of cooling hole diameters, discharge coefficient is also increased. Nevertheless, cooling efficiency reached its maximum with the effusion hole diameter/length ratio 0.35.

Abstract The main motivation of this study is to investigate detailed NOx and CO formation in high-pressure dump combustor fired with lean premixed methane-air mixture using CFD-CRN hybrid approach. Further, this study is extended to investigate the effect of H2 enrichment on emission formation in the same combustor. Three-dimensional steady RANS CFD simulations have been performed using a Flamelet Generated Manifold (FGM) model in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 2019.2 with the DRM22 reduced mechanism. The CFD simulations have been modelled along with all three heat transfers modes: conduction, convection and radiation. The conjugate heat transfer (CHT) approach and participating media radiation modelling have been used here. Initially, CFD simulations are performed for five lean equivalence ratios (ϕ = 0.43–0.55, Tinlet = 673 K, Vinlet = 40 m/s) of pure methane-air mixture operating at 5 bar. The exit temperature and flame-length are compared with available experimental data. The automatic chemical reactor network has been constructed from CFD data and solved using the recently developed reactor network module of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 2019.2 in a single framework for each cases. It is found out that the CRNs up to 10,000 PSRs can provide adequate accuracy in exit NOx predictions compared to experiments for pure methane cases. The contribution of NOx formation pathway, changes from N2O intermediate to thermal NO as equivalence ratio increases. Further studies are performed for two equivalence ratios (ϕ = 0.43 and 0.50 to simulate the impact of H2 addition (up to 40% by volume) on NOx formation pathways and CO emission. It is found out here that the contribution from NNH pathway increases for leaner equivalence ratio cases (ϕ = 0.43), while thermal pathway slightly increases for ϕ = 0.50 with increase in H2 content from 0% to 40%.

Swiss Roll Combustor of 1 W capacity for micro gas turbine engine is operated with premixed hydrogen air mixture at ultra-lean equivalence ratio. The reaction zone under consideration has volume of 60 mm3. The reactant passage and product passage are coiled around the reaction zone facilitating the recovery of heat loss, by preheating the reactants. The reactants are entered through an increasing cross-sectional area passage from 0.6mm × 5mm inlet to 1.5mm × 5mm outlet, thereby reducing the velocity levels in the reactant passage, facilitating stable combustor operation. The combustor performance parameters, temperature levels, pattern factor and emissions are measured is operated at ultra-lean equivalence ratio of 0.12 to lean equivalence ratio of 0.43, for premixed hydrogen air combustion. The results are compared at similar (not same) equivalence ratios for constant area reactant passage. The visual inspection shows stable flame front in the combustion zone for variable area passage and extended flame front in the constant area passage combustor. However, the combustor performance deteriorates drastically above equivalence ratio of 0.43, leading to hot spots generation on walls.
