Повний текст джерелаPitch errors were examined in terms of frequency, placement, and type. Of all pitches played, 23% were incorrect pitches. However, 30% of the incorrect pitches were followed by an immediate correction (self-correction). There were significantly more errors made in the left-hand parts than in right-hand parts of all three pieces. The most common error type was erroneous pitches, followed by redundant and omitted pitch errors respectively. Erroneous pitches were significantly more often contour preserving than contour violating. The younger children made significantly more redundant pitch errors and contour violating pitch errors than did the older children and the younger children tended to make more self-corrections than did the older children.
Timing data were examined in terms of the length of performances and in terms of the length and frequency of pauses. No significant differences were found between pieces or age groups in terms of timing. A high frequency of pauses was noted in both age groups. Evidence drawn from pitch and timing errors suggested that the children in this study tried to play all the pitches in the score with little or no consideration for the rhythmic information in the score. This finding was in accordance with results of previous studies on children and music reading. Implications for music education and research are discussed.

Повний текст джерелаResearch has shown that children who have English as a first language acquire grammatical morphemes in a predictable order. Many researchers claim that second language learners also follow a predictable pattern when learning English grammatical morphemes regardless of their linguistic background, and that the same mechanisms are responsible for both first and second language acquisition.
The aim of this paper was to study Swedish students’ knowledge of English grammatical morphemes, and to compare their knowledge with that of second language learners from other countries as well as with that of first language learners.
The results show that Swedish students seem to acquire morphemes in a similar way to that of second language learners in general and that they make errors similar to those made by first language learners. For example, the copula was almost fully acquired, while the third person regular and irregular constituted a problem for the students. The most notable exception was the possessive ´s, which Swedish students seem to acquire at an early stage compared to other second language learners.

Повний текст джерелаEsta tese tem como objeto central as representações, por palavras ou imagens, que jovens recém ingressos na universidade fazem da Internet. O trabalho tomou como premissa básica a imagem como representação visual, seja ela desenho ou texto, apoiando-se em autores como Ave Appiano, Erwin Panofsky, Jacques Aumont, Lorenzo Vilches, W. J. T. Mitchell, entre outros, que pensam a imagem e texto como uma unidade. A pesquisa, desenvolvida com alunos da PUC-Rio, usou um desenho metodológico que se desenvolveu em dois momentos sucessivos. No primeiro momento, foi realizado um estudo de caráter exploratório sobre o uso e representações de diferentes mídias e, em particular, da Internet, por parte dos universitários. O segundo momento foi constituído por uma investigação de caráter qualitativo, tendo como estratégias de coleta de dados o grupo focal de vivências proposto por Fern e Morgan e a entrevista. Os dados colhidos no questionário aplicado no primeiro momento da investigação possibilitaram o levantamento das representações mais freqüentes da Internet, numa amostra de 995 jovens, representações essas que foram usadas como disparadores da discussão havida dentro da primeira parte do segundo momento, qual seja a dos grupos focais cujos membros foram escolhidos dentro de uma amostra intencional. A segunda parte da dinâmica realizada nos grupos permitiu obter, também, produções em desenho ou colagens realizadas por cada um dos componentes dos grupos focais, representando o que o jovem espera da Internet. Todas essas representações, expressas por palavras e/ou por imagens foram analisadas, primeiramente, de forma específica dentro de cada conjunto. Tendo como referência estudos como os de Derrick de Kerckhove, Lev Manovich, Pier Cesare Rivoltella, Roger Fidler, Sherry Turkle, Steven Johnson, foi realizado igualmente a análise do cruzamento de todos os dados empíricos recolhidos, análise esta que se deu em torno de alguns eixos temáticos: a naturalização da Internet, a sua representação simbólica em termos de velocidade, informação, comunicação , diversão ,globalização. A Internet está muito presente no cotidiano desses jovens, o que pode ser verificado através da grande sintonia que demonstram ter, além de uma postura crítica em relação à Internet, tomada como uma unidade. Aspectos positivos e negativos com relação ao seu uso, suas vantagens, desvantagens, limitações, utilidade, e até seus perigos foram constatados. Outra constatação desta pesquisa foi a evidente mudança de hábitos cotidianos, escolares ou sociais para esses universitários, ratificando a importância do alfabetismo visual, nos termos propostos por Donis Dondis, para esta nova forma de construção do conhecimento.
This thesis aims mainly at the representations, through words or images, which college freshmen make of the Internet. This paper has as a basic premise image as a visual representation, be it a drawing or a text, based on authors such as Ave Appiano, Erwin Panofsky, Jacques Aumont, Lorenzo Vilches, W. J. T. Mitchell, among others, who understand image and text as one unit. The research, developed with PUC-Rio students, used a methodological design developed over two successive periods. Firstly, an exploratory study was carried out on the use and the representations of different media, and, in particular, of the Internet, on the part of university students. Secondly, a qualitative investigation was carried out which used as data collecting strategies the focal experimentation groups proposed by Fern and Morgan and interviews. The data obtained through the query applied at the first stage of the investigation enabled eliciting the most frequent representations of the Internet, from a sample of 995 youths, which were used to trigger discussions carried out during the first part of the second stage, that of the focal groups whose members were chosen by intentional sampling. The second part of the group dynamics allowed the obtaining productions such as drawings or collages made by each and every member of the focal groups, representing what youths expect from the Internet. All these representations, expressed through words and/or images, were first analyzed specifically within each set. Based on studies such as those by Derrick de Kerckhove, Lev Manovich, Pier Cesare Rivoltella, Roger Fidler, Sherry Turkle, and Steven Johnson, an analysis was carried out of the crossing of all the empirical data collected; such analysis revolved around some thematic axes: the naturalization of the Internet, its symbolic representation in terms of speed, information, communication, entertainment, globalization, labyrinth and invisibility . The Internet is very present in the daily lives of these youths, which can be verified by the great attunement which they seem to have, besides a critical posture before the Internet, all taken as a unit. Positive and negative aspects of its use, its advantages and disadvantages, its limitations, its usefulness, even its dangers were elicited. This research also verified the evident change of daily school and social habits for these university students, confirming the importance of visual literacy, as defined by Donis Dondis, for this new manner of knowledge construction.

Who was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophius Mozart? He was a child prodigy who dazzled Kings, Queens, Emperors and Empresses as a young boy and lead an remarkable life in his first ten years. The facts of Mozart’s childhood are known and available, however the vast majority of research is devoted to Mozart’s music, life and career during his adult years. Perhaps the time for a child to begin to realize the importance of Mozart in history would be to create a connection between young Mozart’s daily activities to a student of parallel age. The purpose of the study is to illuminate the life of the child prodigy Wolfgang Mozart using creative digital storytelling for elementary aged students. Due to the awarding of a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, research concerning Mozart’s rise and fall in fame was completed in Vienna, Austria, June 21 through July 16, 2010. The resulting focus of the research was to bring awareness to the minds of elementary students of Mozart’s child prodigy years. Using digital storytelling, listening maps, and composition projects, students will step into the world of Mozart as a composer and begin to relate his life to theirs. Data analysis will establish the effective use of digital storytelling to reveal the student’s ability to correlate the boyhood life of Mozart with the master composer. The study was completed in a pilot program in McPherson, Kansas in January 2011.

Повний текст джерелаI tjänsteföretag är det extra viktigt att man har bra medarbetare då deras primära uppgift är att
betjäna kunden och vara ”ansiktet utåt”. De anställda arbetar i ”fronten” och är tillsammans
med kunderna de viktigaste marknadsförarna. När man vill uppfylla dessa egenskaper hos sin
personal är det viktigt att anställa rätt serviceinriktad personal från början. Detta betyder att
det måste läggas ned mycket uppmärksamhet och omsorg på anställningen och rekrytering av
ny personal.
I ett möte med Urban Dahlborg som är personalchef på Handelsbanken berättar han om sitt
och Handelsbankens problem med den missvisande bild som studenter har av Handelsbanken.
Därigenom följer också deras problem med att nå ut till rätt studenter som potentiella
medarbetare. Syftet med vår studie är därför att undersöka hur Handelsbanken kan
marknadsföra sig för att bli en mer attraktiv arbetsplats för studenterna. För att kunna besvara
vår huvudfråga har vi valt att se på hur studenter uppfattar Handelsbanken som en eventuell
arbetsplats, hur Handelsbanken kan attrahera ung kompetens och vad Handelsbanken kan
använda sig av för marknadsföringskanaler för att nå ut till studenter som passar in i deras
organisation. Vi har i vår studie valt att avgränsa oss till Högskolan i Gävle och
Mittuniversitetet i Sundsvall.
För att kunna undersöka vårt problem har vi valt att använda oss av både den kvalitativa och
den kvantitativa metoden. Gällande den kvalitativa metoden kommer vi att använda oss av
intervjuer för att få en djupare kunskap om vilka marknadsföringskanaler som finns på de
båda skolorna. Gällande den kvantitativa metoden har vi genomfört en enkätundersökning
som omfattar 95 ekonomstudenter totalt på de båda skolorna.
Resultatet som vi kunde urskilja utifrån studien var att de studenterna som inte har
Handelsbanken som bank inte heller har någon uppfattning om banken och på så sätt kanske
inte heller tänker på Handelsbanken när de ska söka arbete. Vår undersökning visar att hela 85
% av de tillfrågade studenterna skulle kunna tänka sig att arbeta på en bank och 10 % svarade
att de inte visste vad de ville arbeta med i framtiden. Detta visar att det finns goda
förutsättningar att attrahera ung kompetens då endast 5 % av de tillfrågade studenterna inte
kunde tänka sig att arbeta på en bank.
Denna studie kan dock inte sägas vara representativ för alla studenter då vi endast valt att
fråga en del av ekonomstudenter på två skolor i Sverige.
I slutsatsen redogörs även för de åtgärder som vi tycker Handelsbanken ska använda sig av för
att nå ut till rätt studenter som potentiella medarbetare.
When it comes to a service company it is very important that one has good working
colleagues because their primary task is to serve the customers and to market the company.
The employee is working in the “front” and they are with the customers the most important
market for a company. Therefore it is necessary to hire the right employees with the right
quality from the beginning. This means that the companies have to be very careful and put a
lot of time and effort on the recruitment.
Urban Dalborg who is the personnel manager of Handelsbanken, tells us about his and
Handelsbanken´s problem with the misleading image that students have about them.
Consequently Handelsbanken´s problem to reach out to the right students as potential
employees. The purpose with our thesis is to investigate how Handelsbanken through the right
marketing can market them as an attractive place of work. To fulfil our purpose we have
examined the students understanding of Handelsbanken as a potential place of work, how
Handelsbanken can be able to attract young employee’s and how Handelsbanken can use
different way of marketing to reach out to students that fit in of their organisation. We have
delimited our study to the University of Gävle and the University of Sundsvall.
We have chosen to use both the qualitative and the quantitative methods to examine our
problem. The qualitative method which is carried out by interviews help us to get a deeper
knowledge about which different ways of marketing are available in the both schools. The
quantitative method has been conducted through a survey on students of both schools.
The conclusion of our study is that the students who do not have Handelsbanken as their bank
do not have any knowledge about the bank. This awareness affects students for not seeking
job in the Handelsbanken. 85 % of the students participating in the study could see them self
working at a bank in the future. Just 5 % can not see them selves in that kind of position and
the rest answer that they do not have a clue about their future. This shows that Handelsbanken
has a good chance to attract young competence when so many students can think to work at a
bank in the future.
However the study is not representative for all the students when we just have asked a part of
the students on two different schools.
The conclusion also includes which measure we would like to recommend Handelsbanken to
reach out to the right students as potential employees.

Повний текст джерелаMatematik kan beskrivas som en speciell typ av språk, en diskurs i vilken deltagarna producerar berättelser för att kommunicera abstrakta begrepp. Kommunikation och språk är viktiga faktorer i lärande och undervisning men lite är känt om hur berättelser skapade av elever i relation till geometriska begrepp bidrar till deras kunskap om denna aspekt av matematiskt tänkande. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka berättelser producerade av unga elever i diskursen geometri. För att genomföra detta videofilmades svenska elever i åldern 10 till 11 år under arbetet med två uppgifter, en där uppgiften var att beskriva fyrhörningar för varandra och en där uppgiften var att sortera fyrhörningar. En analys av de berättelser eleverna producerade identifierade ett antal problem som lärare behöver vara medvetna om och hantera i undervisningen av begreppet `geometrisk figur´. Exempel på identifierade problem är att konceptuella kännetecken alltför mycket hamnar i bakgrunden av vad som i studien kallats för "Den visuella formen", till exempel så verkar en lång och smal form dra till sig elevernas uppmärksamhet. Eleverna verkar också ha problem med att förstå att namnet på en geometrisk figur innebär att man fogat samman figurens konceptuella kännetecken i ett enda ord. Studien visar också på problem med användningen av vardagsord.
