An examination of two samples of children seen one year apart at a community mental health service indicated that a significant proportion had also been involved with the child welfare system (44% of the 119-member older sample and 32% of the 160 individuals from the current sample). A reanalysis of the latter sample one year later showed that the caseload overlap had increased to 39%.

Although coordinated community responses to domestic violence are widely encouraged in the literature as a best practice approach, collaboration between multiple domestic violence response service agencies and government systems is often not achieved. Because of the fragmentation of domestic violence services, this literature review examines community engagement in general and the need for coordination between child welfare agencies and women serving anti-violence services in particular. The skills and strategies necessary for community engagement are explored along with the historical relationship between the two service streams. Also included is a review of the barriers to collaboration between child welfare and women serving agencies along with recommendations to overcome these hurdles. By way of summation, a discussion is provided on how information learned through this review process may be applied to practice for Child and Youth Care Practitioners and others who take up the difficult task of responding to the complex needs of families experiencing domestic violence.

This paper aims to describe the factors that cause children to be neglected, as well as the impact experienced by children who are neglected. The formulation of the problem, how is the service and guidance of the Semarang Regency Social Welfare Service in handling neglected children with social welfare problems and what are the obstacles and solutions to services and guidance in handling neglected children with social welfare problems. Research This research is a qualitative research that produces qualitative data. The data used in this study is primary data by conducting interviews and secondary data from books, journals and laws and regulations. From the results of the analysis of research findings, it can be seen that abandoned children tend not to be easy to communicate with, children tend not to want to be fostered, family motivation towards children is still lacking. The existence of abandoned children is caused by poverty, personality deviations, and internal and external factors of the child. They have their own way of life. Therefore, to overcome the problem of neglected children, it is necessary to empower potential sources of social welfare through Private Welfare Institutions/stakeholders, religious leaders, community leaders, community social workers, academics in an integrated, synergistic, collaborative and sustainable manner. The limitations of human resources and infrastructure at the Semarang Regency Social Service Office, especially the absence of a halfway house, need special attention from the Semarang Regency Regional Government.

Youth involved in the child welfare system are at high risk for mental illness, substance abuse, and other behavioral health issues, which child welfare workers are expected to address through referrals. Child welfare workers (N=27) who participated in Project IMPROVE (Intervention for Multisector Provider Enhancement) reported on services they provided to youth (N=307) in their caseloads. Using survey and administrative data, this paper examines workers’ service actions on behalf of youth. Results were consistent with the Gateway Provider Model and showed that youths received help from a greater variety of service sectors when their workers were able to identify behavioral health problems, and were familiar with and connected to other providers in the community. Improving service delivery to youth in child welfare may be accomplished by training workers in the signs and symptoms of behavioral health problems and familiarizing them with providers in the community.

The transformation of public services in the field of population administration began to be felt after the all-internet or online era began to bloom in Indonesia. This causes public service providers to be asked to make changes in the concept of serving the community by following the changing times. The research method used is qualitative research or sociological juridical. The primary data source is interviews with the South Tangerang City Population and Civil Registry Service, while the secondary data source is various legal book materials and statutory regulations. The results of the research can be found that the transformation of Indonesian population administration services has begun to lead to realizing the concept of "welfarestate" for the community, with the change in population administration services that previously used offline or the community was required to be physically present to take care of population administration, now with the all-internet era the organizers population administration implements services with an online system in order to reach the public so that services are more effective, efficient and excellent. The originality of this research is that people in today's era who are completely connected to the internet have resulted in the implementation of public services also having to follow it. The positive side of public services by being connected to the internet can make it easier for people to access population administration matters without coming physically in person. However, public services cannot fully use online services, population administration public services also require offline services in order to fulfill services for people who do not understand technology.

Recently we have seen the emergence of citizen-led community initiatives and civic enterprises, taking over governmental tasks in providing public services in various sectors, such as energy, care, landscape maintenance, and culture. This phenomenon can be explained by a renewed interest in community, place, and ‘local identity’; the erosion of the welfare state; the privatization of public services; a re-emergence of the social economy; and tensions between ‘bottom-up’ initiatives and the changing role of the state. The co-production of governments and initiatives can potentially result in a shift from government-led to community-led planning. This, however, raises questions about their innovative potential, the democratic consequences, and the potential roles of governments in enabling these societal dynamics. This article discusses these issues theoretically, illustrated with empirical examples from Portugal, the Netherlands, and Wales, in a context of uncertainty regarding the future of the traditional European welfare state.

This applies particularly to the study of the welfare services, an aspect of Dutch colonial rule that had been the pride and glory of civil servants and scholars alike (many of them former civil servants).

By analyzing the impact of social participation and sense of community among residents living in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, the study aims to reveal the moderating effect of the digital capability. For this purpose, this study analyzed 250 local residents who lives in Gyeongsangbuk-do and has received services from the Community Welfare Center. The main findings were, first of all, the degree of social participation and the sense of community had a significant impact on their depression. And generally, gender, educational background, and subjective health condition had a significant impact on their depression. Secondly, in the part of digital capability, the subjects with higher scores of digital discomfort scored higher in depression and lower in social participation. Third, it has been proven that depending on the level of discomfort of digital use, the local residents' sense of community has a moderating effect on depression. Based on this research result, the study discussed social welfare practices and policy implications in order to reduce depression and improve the life quality of people who receives welfare services in the community welfare center.

This study aims to determine the services of social welfare centers (Puskesos) in poverty reduction in Abeli Dalam Village, Puuwatu District, Kendari City. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection technique was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation with 13 research informants. 5 people from the implementation team of the social welfare center (Puskesos), and 8 additional informants, 1 TKSK and 7 community members who are beneficiaries of Puskesmas services in Abeli Dalam Village, Puuwatu District, Kendari CityThe results showed that social welfare center services (Puskesos) are located in Abeli Dalam Village government by providing social welfare center services in the program including: Healthy Idonesia Card (KIS), Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Tunia Food Assistance (BPNT), and Cash Social Assistance (BST). which is carried out by Puskesmas to the poor, namely: 1) making changes in the form of activities, these activities are in the form of socialization. 2) assist in overcoming problems, by providing quality service assistance to poor individuals / families / households must have clear, straightforward, easy to understand and implement procedures. These activities include; receiving complaints, checking the status of potential beneficiaries with data validation and verification processes, complaint handling services according to program needs, in this case the KIS, PKH, BPNT, BST programs, and handling referrals. With 700 KIS recipients, 77 PKH family heads, 137 BPNT family heads, and 6 BST family heads. The number of service recipients for the poor was 174 households out of 202 households. These are found in Puskesmas services as well as the benefits of puskesmas services for the community that can have a good impact on community welfare and poverty reduction, and contribute to the fulfillment of the right to access health services, education, basic food assistance, and cash social assistance can be achieved

The articles in this volume offer concrete recommendations for policies and practices that can reduce child maltreatment, and for systemic approaches—both within the purview of child welfare services and across the broader community and social policy landscape—that can better identify and respond to the needs of children and families in which maltreatment has already occurred or where there is a risk of abuse and neglect. <p>The Hygeia Community Health Plan was designed such that agriculture-based households can have access to affordable healthcare services. It is also aimed at providing financial risk protection against catastrophic healthcare costs which if persistent, could possibly drive them into poverty. This paper used a well-structured questionnaire to solicit responses on the effect of the Hygeia Community Health Plan on the welfare of farming households in Kwara State, Nigeria. A two-stage sampling technique was used to sample 175 farming households comprising of 115 beneficiaries and 60 non-beneficiaries from Shonga, Bacita and Lafiagi districts of Edu local government area of Kwara State, Nigeria. The ordinary least square and logit model were used in the analysis of the data for this study. The results of the analysis showed that the Hygeia community health plan was positively and statistically significant in influencing the per capita income, per capita calorie intake and the food security status of farming households in the area. Therefore, it was recommended that the government should create an enabling environment or partner with private insurance organizations. This will help them work out a plan to help rural households in other parts of the country access affordable healthcare services easily. This will help in the attainment of the universal access to health services in Kwara State and country Nigeria at large.</p>

Other than physical and psychological needs, social welfare should also be addressed with the support of specialised geriatric care sources to improve their quality of life.ObjectiveTo study a case of an elderly with dementia, who was identified and managed through a multi-agency approach and to describe different services involved for dementia care.AimTo highlight the various elderly care organizations available in Singapore to address healthcare and social needs in dementia.MethodThrough a case report of an elderly who presented to hospital for medical issues with dementia, the social needs were identified and multiple agencies were involved to provide holistic care in dementia.ResultA 77-year-old gentleman was brought by a community social worker to hospital as he was found ill during home visit. During admission, the concern for poor self-care and cognition decline was raised by his family. Mini-mental state examination was 16/30. He was diagnosed with vascular dementia with clinical and MRI Brain finding. With active multidisciplinary intervention, his medical issues were addressed, and family and social needs were attended by several voluntary welfare organizations. Access to memory clinic service was also arranged for. With the ubiquitous presence of smart phones and the availability of easy-to-use applications, there is an increase in the number of online services. A growing number of people now search for information and interact online. They expect to see services available and accessible online. To meet citizens’ expectations, governments have also increased their online presence. However, information and services are not the only reasons people go online. People also build their social circle online, seeking support and empathy, looking for someone with whom they can talk and who can understand their situation and worries. Online communities (and social networks in general) have been shown to have the potential to provide social and emotional peer-support. Our work aimed at determining whether online communities could be deployed in the public administration domain, in particular to support people receiving welfare payments, with similar benefits. We hypothesized that an online community could provide such support to disadvantaged citizens. Toward testing this hypothesis, after a user requirements analysis and some preparatory work, we designed and developed an online community for a specific target group of welfare recipients, as a collaboration between CSIRO and the Australian Department of Human Services. The community was deployed for one year. In this paper, we briefly explain our aims and the work that went into preparing for the community. We introduce the portal and the support it offered. We then report our observations and findings about both the informational and emotional support participants received, through an analysis of the comments posted in the community, and whether this support was perceived as welcome and useful.

Occupational therapists who wish to see services expand in community settings must be prepared to take an active role in program development. The article examines 12 program development strategies which are illustrated using the experience of developing a rural program in a social service system. Community occupational therapy services in Prince Edward Island were initially developed, from 1977 to 1979, by a small group of occupational therapists. The group obtained Federal Welfare Demonstration Grant funding for a pilot project which was administered by the provincial Department of Social Services. In 1979, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Government approved ongoing funding for an Island-wide community occupational therapy service.

Pervaded by ‘third way’ values and identified as archetypal Comprehensive Community Initiatives (CCIs), programmes such as Education Action Zones (EAZs) and Health Action Zones (HAZs) follow a procedural rationale based on heterarchy and partnership. They are a response to an alleged prior fragmentation of service provision in welfare across sectors. Employing evidence from an evaluation of an EAZ and HAZ in one location, this article makes two claims. First, it is claimed that the extent of the alleged ?problem? of fragmentation across the governance of local social and welfare services prior to the introduction of these CCIs is contestable and was exaggerated for political purposes. Second, despite the application of CCIs in the form of EAZs and HAZs, it is claimed that a continuing problem of fragmentation across local governance of social and welfare services is evident. Several insights from the emerging theory of governance failure are employed to offer an explanation for why this situation has occurred.

Purpose – Looking at the present Nigeria’s quest to become one of the top 20 economies of the world by the year 2020, the purpose of this paper is to propose that Nigerian public libraries, as key players in community development, should provide resources and services for the promotion of social welfare sector of the country by introducing relevant key information management and service policies. These strategic policies should include identification of various user groups, deployment of specialized information professionals, provision of adequate financial resources, social welfare information resource development planning, effective information service delivery system, partnership arrangements and adaptation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Design/methodology/approach – Essential to this paper is to take into account the importance and relevancy of policies, strategies and procedures of information management and services to Nigerian public libraries. Findings – There is continuous rising concerns about the current situation of the country’s socio-economic problems and challenges. However, despite the problem of poor and inadequate ICT facilities in Nigerian public libraries, the ICT infrastructure including the internet will significantly enhance the social welfare information service process in these libraries, if fully adopted. Also very important here is that, the libraries should support community awareness programs on local radio stations or local television channels to compliment the collection of materials in the library. The welfare of the people is an absolute national goal that must be achieved by the Indonesian nation. The services provided by the Village Credit Agency (BKD) are one of the breakthroughs in efforts to achieve community welfare in accordance with our national goals. The purpose of this study is: to find out the background of the emergence of the Village Credit Agency (BKD) and the extent to which the role of the Village Credit Agency (BKD) services for micro-enterprises in Jombang district. This research method is descriptive with a case study approach which is carried out to answer the problems that have been formulated. In this study, the authors use the people of Jombang District who are customers of the Village Credit Agency (BKD) in 20 (twenty one) villages in Jombang District by being represented or using the Village Credit Agency (BKD) customers of 4 villages, as many as 100 customers. The time used by the author is from August to September 2021. Data analysis technique uses regression analysis method. From the data analysis, it is known that the loan services provided by the village credit agency (BKD) have a significant role in the welfare of the community, especially micro-enterprises in Jombang District. The history of BKD is inseparable from the Dutch Government Regulation to minimize illegal credit that occurs in the community, BKD is an extension of BRI. In the regression analysis, it can also be proven that the credit provided has a significant role in the welfare of the community, especially micro-enterprises. From the analysis of the t test also shows the X2 variable obtained t count is greater than the t table, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepts. This means that the service of the village credit agency plays a significant role in the welfare of the community in Jombang District.

Fundamental changes in China's finance system for social services have decentralized responsibilities for provision to lower levels of government and increased costs to individuals. The more localized, market-oriented approaches to social service provision, together with rising economic inequalities, raise questions about access to social services among China's children. With a multivariate analysis of three waves of the China Health and Nutrition Survey (1989, 1993 and 1997), this article investigates two dimensions of children's social welfare: health care, operationalized as access to health insurance, and education, operationalized as enrolment in and progress through school. Three main results emerge. First, analyses do not suggest an across-the-board decline in access to these child welfare services during the period under consideration. Overall, insurance rates, enrolment rates and grade-for-age attainment improved. Secondly, while results underscore the considerable disadvantages in insurance and education experienced by poorer children in each wave of the survey, there is no evidence that household socio-economic disparities systematically widened. Finally, findings suggest that community resources conditioned the provision of social services, and that dimensions of community level of development and capacity to finance public welfare increasingly mattered for some social services.

AbstractVillage Fund (DD) has been allocated by Central Government since 2015, with a budget of Rp.20.80 trillion, and in 2020, DD is budgeted to be Rp72 trillion, experiencing a significant increase in 5 years. Priority for DD use according to the rules (Permendesa PDTT, No.11 / 2019) must provide as much benefit to the village community in the form of: a. life quality improvement; b. welfare improvement; c. poverty alleviation; and d. public services improvement (health, education, and social). The research was conducted in Cimerang Village, Padalarang Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency and aimed at analyzing the influence of DD Financial Management Accountability, Village Policy, and Village Institutions to the Improvement of Village Community Welfare This research used quantitative methods, where primary data was obtained from questionnaires of 135 respondents from the local village community and the Village Institution. The results indicated that three independent variables partially had a significant positive effect on improving the village community welfare. With the potential of vast agricultural land, including horticulture and animal husbandry, the creation of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) is a priority scale for Cimerang Village in the efforts of village independence, and from the results of efforts can be used in improving the quality of health and education, for example the establishment of the Polyclinic that provides health care is more diverse than Posyandu, the construction of a high school equivalent. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Cimerang, Kecamatan Padalarang, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Akuntabilitas Pengelolaan Keuangan DD, Kebijakan Desa, dan Kelembagaan Desa terhadap Peningkatan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Desa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, data primer yang diperoleh dari penyebaran kuesioner diperoleh dari 135 responden masyarakat desa setempat dan Perangkat Lembaga Desa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial, ketiga variabel independen berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Peningkatan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Desa. The village fund program aims to provide services to rural communities, maximum economic recovery, the main program of the central government according to village authority, adjustment of new village habits, and the main thing is the achievement of village community welfare. This study aims to determine the effect of village fund management accountability and village policies on community welfare. The study took place in the Tulang Bawang area by determining as many as 19 villages spread over 5 sub-districts out of 147 villages in 15 sub-districts in the Tulang Bawang district. The research variable consisted of the independent variable, namely the accountability of village fund management (X1) and village policies (X2), and the dependent variable in the form of community welfare (Y). The influence of the accountability variable for village fund management on community welfare produces a path coefficient value of 0.237 with a T-statistic of 1.349 and P values of 0.178. The influence of village policy variables on community welfare produces a path coefficient value of 0.299 with a T-statistic of 1.835 and P values of 0.067. In conclusion, accountability for the financial management of village funds does not affect the welfare of the community. Meanwhile, village policies have a positive effect on the welfare of the community in Tulang Bawang village.

Abstract. This paper discusses issues of public space, citizenship, gender, and race in the light of public relocation of responsibility for social services and care to private communities due to the elimination, privatization or devolvement of such services by state restructuring and welfare reform. The presented case studies are taken from a larger study of community gardens in Buffalo, NY. This mixed methods study found connections between community organizations' commitment to community gardening and their involvement in the provision of social, youth, and emergency services, including after school programs, tutoring, refugee services, and winter coat drives. The paper concludes that the everyday lives of Buffalo’s residents within the social, political and economic conditions cannot be separated from the effects of larger structural processes, such as deindustrialization, privatization, and state restructuring.

The study examined the socio-demographic factors affecting access to and utilization of social welfare services in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Quantitative and qualitative approaches were adopted to select 570 respondents from the study area. Probability and non-probability sampling techniques were adopted in the selection of communities, and respondents. The quantitative data were analyzed using frequency distribution tables and percentages, while chi-square statistic was used to determine the relationship between socio-demographic variables and access to and utilization of social welfare services. The qualitative data were analyzed in themes as a complement to the quantitative data. This study reveals that although all the respondents reported knowing available social welfare services, 44.3% reported not having access to existing social services due to factors connected to serendipity variables, such as terrain condition, ethnicity and knowing someone in government. Therefore, the study recommends that the government and other stakeholders should push for the massive delivery of much-needed social welfare services to address the issue of welfare service deficit across the nation, irrespective of the ethnic group and whether the community is connected to the government of the day or not, primarily in rural areas.

Many participants indicated that they felt uninformed and marginalised when dealing with other services in the community. A pilot study is under way whereby an experienced Student Welfare Coordinator acts as a contact person for accessing Department of Education requests for informal consultation regarding suspected sexual abuse in the region. A second workshop is currently being planned for workers from Protective Services and Child and Mental Health Services.

Regional Planning prepares the development program for community welfare in future. This planning research focuses on the Food Estate development of North Sumatera Province of Indonesia. A food Estate of North Sumatera puts forward the agricultural sector as the fundamental element for the industry and services. Data obtained found that both the Central and local governments in North Sumatera already launched a food estate of around 61,042 hectares, covering four Regencies; namely, Humbang Hasundutan, Pakpak Barat, Tapanuli Tengah and Tapanuli Utara. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry also launched a 1,150-hectare botanical garden and a 500-hectare herbal science park. It concludes that the Regional Planning for sustainable agriculture prioritises the management of agricultural ecosystems covers biodiversity with the empowerment strategies supported by both the Central Government of Indonesia and local ones. Such Regional Planning increases community development and future welfare.

Inclusion and the associated provision of social services is a central fundamental right in the European Union. Social services of general interest are based on the principles of an inclusive welfare state enshrined in EU primary law. However, the European Commission tends to interpret these social services rather economically. This paper shows that the way in which these services are provided in the Member States is decisive for the categorization of an economic or non-economic activity by the European Commission. Whether social services are to be classified as being related to economic activities and, therefore, subject to the competition and internal market rules depends on their organization and structure.

A child whose health is disturbed, both physically and psychologically is a reflection of not achieving the child's welfare. To get the welfare of the child, every child has the right to get services from the government and the community. The government stipulates laws and regulations in order to enforce the right of children to obtain health services. However, the reality that occurs in the community is that children do not get maximum nutritional health services both at the puskesmas and hospital levels so that there is no decrease in the number of children suffering from malnutrition. There is a need for legal protection for malnourished children so that children's welfare can maximize the growth and development process properly. In this case, the law is tasked with ensuring the welfare of children and guarding the interests of children in providing child protection. This study uses a qualitative approach with empirical legal research techniques in data collection and uses content analysis in describing the data obtained. The results of the study found that the legal protection for malnourished children for the fulfillment of health services in the prevention of malnutrition in children who were not carried out optimally. Various cross-sectoral roles are needed in the effort to fulfill the rights of malnourished children. The implementation of legal health services based on Health Law no. 36 of 2009 must be implemented, especially in overcoming the problem of malnutrition so that all health problems can be overcome in an effort to overcome malnutrition.

This study sought ways to increase the level of mental health management and services in Yeoju area to promote the welfare of the area. There is a shortage of psychological counseling services which is a common phenomenon in rural area, and this lack of psychological counseling services lowers the level of mental health management in the community. These problems can be solved through the establishment of a community service network for mental health services, especially psychological counseling experts, and cooperation with various organizations in the community in Yeoju. To this end, this study not only provides quality psychological counseling services to Yeoju people, but also explores ways to induce active participation of them. As a result, collaboration and partnership between the lifelong education project and psychological counseling service, which are actively underway in Yeoju area, were proposed. For this proposal, the situation of Yeoju was investigated and analyzed along with the theory that is the foundation. This study put stress on the bottom-up approach in which local residents actively participate in and promote psychological counseling services and actively interact with other residents. It was implied that it is very practical to designate a lifelong educational institution that can satisfy not only intellectual needs but also emotional needs and needs for welfare services.

International research that confirms links between health issues and legal needs and the prevalence of non-legal services as the first port of call for assistance with legal problems has reinvigorated interest in providing integrated legal and health services. This article details research that indicates experiencing ‘justiciable events’ (problems for which there is a potential legal remedy) leads to stress, anxiety and deterioration in physical or mental health problems. Health consequences are identified for those that do not obtain appropriate and timely legal assistance. People often experience clusters of legal and non-legal problems that require a range of responses. For those that seek assistance with their justiciable event, most seek this assistance from non-legal sources. Within the legal aid sector, these research findings are considered compelling reasons to integrate legal, health and welfare services. However, the co-ordination and collocation of legal and non-legal services (particularly for disadvantaged communities) is not a straightforward solution. Drawing on the experience of several examples of integrated approaches in legal, health and welfare service delivery including the longstanding arrangements between the West Heidelberg Community Legal Service, which is collocated with Banyule Community Health, a range of challenges facing those agencies wishing to develop relationships to provide integrated legal, health and welfare services are identified.

Thirty years ago we would not have thought it possible that sectors of the Australian community, apart from Aboriginal communities, would have such a growing sense of hopelessness and isolation from the mainstream of Australian life.These difficulties are now pressing upon child welfare services and at a time of expenditure neutrality of the public welfare dollar. More and more as the costs of the welfare state approach crisis point, government and the community in general are being forced to turn to the resources of the family to find solutions to problems of social and personal need. In child welfare the notion of turning to the family and seeking resources or building upon inherent strengths is a new direction requiring a new understanding, knowledge and skills.

This means that the government is domiciled as a powerful organization that performs actions based on its authority and as a public legal entity that can provide services whose impact is felt directly by the community. One type of government activity as a strong organization is to provide services to the community. This is because of the acceptance of the notion of a Welfare State in the Indonesian constitution, as underlined in the fourth paragraph of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, that one of the goals of the State is to promote general welfare. However, public satisfaction with government bureaucratic services is still low; In this regard, it is necessary to examine the role of the government bureaucracy as a public service provider to find solutions in overcoming public service constraints and guaranteeing public relations with the government bureaucracy as a public service provider.

ABSTRACTThe principal aim of law centres is to service the claims of poor and low income people in the field of social welfare law. Their successes and limitations in realising this aim constitute the major part of this paper. Levels of demand, the satisfaction of unmet legal needs and the role played by law centres in the spectrum of advice services are important factors in assessing their mission. No assessment can be complete, however, without taking into account the internal problems faced by law centres—such as, funding, caseload levels, and rationing procedures. This paper argues that the formation of a national network of law centres would help to solve many of their operational difficulties and to position them more effectively within the spectrum of legal advice services.

This article examines the function and perception of public service interpreting provision in contemporary Britain against the backdrop of conflict that has emerged in media and political circles as a result of the spiralling cost of such provision. Using an approach based on critical discourse analysis (Fairclough 2000, 2003; Fowler 1991) the article begins by examining a corpus of media reports in which the twin societal aims of community cohesion and integration are often seen as being hindered by translation and interpreting services. The issue of whether interpreting services play or should play a role in integration and cohesion amidst the ongoing processes of welfare reform in Britain is then examined and contrasted with a broader understanding of welfare that foregrounds the role of public service interpreting in the processes of resettlement and socialisation. The discussion also considers the relationship between public service interpreting, welfare reform and status of language services as a welfare entitlement for new entrants.

Анотація:
Inappropriate land development decisions lead to wasted land resources; such bad decisions can negatively impact urban landscapes and the environment, which makes the decision of an appropriate residential environment difficult. Therefore, a suitable assessment model is required to resolve this complexity. The present study applied the fuzzy Delphi method, analytical hierarchy process, utility theory, and other research methods to construct an evaluation model for residential environment location. the study findings reveal that consumers are attracted by regional environmental conditions and architectural design. However, the study found that community welfare is neglected. This model can help decision makers to evaluate utility values and profitability, in order to select the most suitable environment. Therefore, related authorities should strengthen community welfare and neighborhood development. Furthermore, social resources should be integrated in order to deliver social welfare and services to the community, thus enabling people in the community to obtain the necessary resources and assistance

Intensive family preservation services are a specialized form of child welfare services based on the proposition that an intensive, multisystemic intervention can bolster the family's internal and external resources and prevent further child maltreatment and the need for placement of children into foster care. Research on child maltreatment has identified social isolation as a primary correlate of child abuse and neglect but has also found that informal social support from family and friends can be detrimental to family integrity. Formal pychoeducational support groups are presented and described as an alternative method to create supportive networks for families seeking to remain safe and remain together.
