Wright's 'Truth and Objectivity' seeks to systematise a variety of anti-realist positions. I argue that many objections to the system are avoided by transposing its talk of truth into talk of warrant. However, a problem remains about debates involving 'direction-of-fit'. Dummett introduced 'anti-realism’ as a philosophical view informed by mathematical intuitionism. Subsequently, the term has been associated with many debates, ancient and modern. 'Truth and Objectivity' proposes that truth admits of different characteristics; these various debates then concern which characteristics truth has, in a given area. This pluralism of truth is at odds with deflationism. I find fault with Wright's argument against deflationism. However, transmission of warrant across the Disquotational Schema suffices to ground Wright's proposal, which survives as a pluralism of classes of warrant. The two main debates concern whether truths are always knowable (Epistemic Constraint) and whether disagreements in an area must be down to some fault of one of those involved (Cognitive Command). I introduce Assertoric Constraint, relating to Epistemic Constraint, where truths cannot outstrip the availability of warrant for their assertion. I solve a structural problem by a comparison with a constitutive analysis of Moore's Paradox. The relativism of blameless disagreement is problematic. Wright's response invokes a sort of ignorance which he calls 'Quandary'. I criticise this before proposing an alternative. I agree with Wright that Dummett's original anti-realism does not belong among the positions which Wright seeks to systematise. However, two candidates show that the proposal suffers a weakness. Wright thinks Expressivism misguided, and implicitly rules out his earlier non-cognitivism about necessity. I argue that Expressivism has promise, and I endorse Wright’s Cautious Man argument for non-cognitivism about necessity; both involve play with 'direction-of-fit'. I conclude that this sort of anti-realist debate needs to be accommodated by the proposal.

Warrant, in classification, is encompassed in the Oxford English DictionaryiÌ s definition: "justifying reason or ground for an action, belief, or feeling." Classifications may be deemed good or bad on the basis of any number of characteristics, but the justification for their choice and order of classes or concepts is one of the most fundamental. This paper will introduce the notion of warrant used by Francis Bacon in his classification of knowledge, discuss its uniqueness within the panoply of classificatory history, and suggest that Bacon still has a radical idea to suggest to todayiÌ s classificationists.

William Warham, Lord Chancellor of England (1504--1515) and Archbishop of Canterbury (1503--1532), was Desiderius Erasmus's most generous and consistent patron; in Erasmus's words a "sacred anchor" for him. The relationship between the two men connected with and contributed to a complex process of historical change. First of all, Warham and Erasmus were both associated with the paradigm shift which we now call the Northern Renaissance. Warham's academic background and his travels on the continent motivated him to support the study of Greek, new research in theology and the revival of classical learning. His money and political support acted as a force enabling Erasmus to get his New Testament work completed and published. Erasmus's New Testament research in turn facilitated the biblical scholarship of the Reformation and definitely motivated William Tyndale, among others. The reform which the collaboration of Warham and Erasmus helped to unleash was hence more radical than either had ever anticipated. Once religious reform started, neither man could control its pace although each made an effort to do so. The aim of this thesis is to show the significance of their relationship to the two individuals themselves, and also, more importantly, to analyze the dynamics of their collaboration and to demonstrate how and why it acted as a catalyst for religious change in England. Books have been written about More and Erasmus and Colet and Erasmus; the absence of a book about Warham and Erasmus has meant that the nature and significance of their relationship have not, as yet, been fully understood.

The Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International Carriage by Air of 1929 is a multilateral treaty that seeks to unify the legal regime the international carriage of passengers, baggage and cargo by air. One aspect of this regime is the regime of liability imposed on air carriers, which is characterised by a presumption of fault and liability on the carrier, thereby reversing the burden of proof, while at the same time imposing monetary limits to the damages for which the carrier is liable.In the sixty-one years that the Convention has been in force, several points of controversy have arisen in the interpretation of the Convention. Of these, the main controversies are whether carriers are liable for mental injury under Article 17, whether punitive damages may be awarded to victims, and what is meant by willful misconduct under Article 25.
Since there are 126 States party to the Convention, the investigation of the above issues is necessarily multi-jurisdictional. The conclusion of the investigation is that in the course of judicial interpretation by the various courts, applying various approaches and guided by different policy considerations, the Convention has unfortunately become disunified.

International air travel is the chosen means of transportation for hundreds of millions of people around the globe. At the same time, international civil aviation has witnessed a systemic threat from terrorists, who consider aircraft and other aeronautical facilities as surrogate targets. Among others, innocent travellers and passengers dissociated entirely from terrorists' personal or political ambitions are the victims. The Warsaw Convention, and subsequent modifications thereto, devised to regulate the civil liability of the air carrier vis a vis its passengers, falls short of recognizing this particular class of victims and may not be seen as an efficient legal instrument for the resolution of the consequences of terrorist related aviation disasters.

A current project for the City of Tucson is the Broadway Boulevard Expansion Project.
This is a complete redesign of Broadway Boulevard from Euclid to Country Club. The senior
design project is a smaller scale version of this real-life design project up to the 30% plans
submittal. First semester each team was tasked with "winning" the project by compiling a
Design Summary Report and Statement of Qualifications. These first submittals encompassed
the area between Euclid and Campbell. Second semester focused more on the actual design,
including Drainage, Traffic, Structural, Landscape, and Pavement design reports as well as a set
of design plans and a cost estimate. Because of the more intensive designs these submittals
were only from Highland to Warren.

This report includes the complete documentation of the 2017 Civil Engineering senior capstone project. The project is a theoretical design project based on a real, local project currently in production. The scope of the project includes widening the Broadway Boulevard Corridor from Highland Avenue through Warren Avenue in order to meet growing capacity demands. The new design expands Broadway Blvd to include six through lanes, three in each direction as well as a median, bus pullouts, improved curb and drainage features and new landscaping. The report is broken up into multiple sections. The first two sections, the Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) and the Design Summary Report (DSR) were completed during the Fall 2016 Semester. The remaining sections include the various technical reports completed in the Spring 2017 Semester in the following order: Pavement Design Report, Landscape Report, Traffic Analysis Report, Drainage Design Report, Structural Report, Plan Cost Estimate, and the Plan Sheets.

Private international air law encompasses the delicate balance of interest between the air carriers and the consumers of their service. This balance is made by states according to their socioeconomic and political conditions. Since these conditions differ among states, another, yet more complex conflict of interests arises between states as to how the interest of air carriers and consumers should be balanced. This difference between states has been, and still is, the biggest obstacle in the way of unifying private international air law.Giving an overview of the present situation and the possible future implications, this thesis highlights the balance of interest of the successive private international air law instruments and examines the factors that lead thereto. This thesis further analyses the crisis of unified private international air law and the actions taken to confront it by examining the reasons behind it in order to understand the current situation and apprehend the future.

Senator Warren Robison Austin (R-VT) was appointed by President Harry S. Truman to be the US Representative to the United Nations in June 1946. While a member of the US Senate, Austin had been a great advocate for internationalism and the United Nations. His tenure as Representative lasted until January 1953. The growing pains of the new organization were complicated by myriad contentious problems, not the least of which was the dawning of the Cold War. Austin was caught between the Soviet delegation, who were bent on opposing virtually all US initiatives at the UN, and members of the Truman Administration who were adamantly anti-communist/anti-Soviet.
This thesis examines the role that anti-communism played in establishing an atmosphere of distrust leading, at least partly, to the Cold War; and Austin’s role at the United Nations as regards three representative issues that confronted the international organization during his tenure. The first issue was how the Soviets and the Western Powers disagreed over the question of unanimity of the permanent five members in the Security Council. Next, I will show how irreconcilable differences between the United States and the Soviets thwarted the functioning of the Atomic Energy Commission of the Security Council. Lastly, the Korean War is examined as the first use of a military response by the United Nations to international aggression.
Austin dutifully represented the administration at the United Nations, but often expressed his own less confrontational views in meetings, speeches outside the UN, and in letters to friends and loved ones. He held the United Nations to be a positive force for peace, while other members of the administration were stridently anti-Soviet and found the United Nations to be the perfect ideological battleground while acting unilaterally outside the organization.
I will show how Austin had an idealistic view of the United Nations and maintained that it was the best vehicle for the maintenance of peace. Also how he was, initially, more even-handed in dealing with the Soviet delegation than his overseers in the Truman administration. He eventually grew weary of Soviet tactics and their alleged aggression in Korea leading him to harden his outlook.

The purpose of this descriptive study was to explore respiratory-related quality of life among people that have been exposed to Libby amphibole asbestos. This thesis analyzed data from a descriptive research study conducted by a team from Montana State University College of Nursing in collaboration with the Center for Asbestos-Related Diseases (CARD) clinic in Libby from September 1, 2006 through August 31, 2007. The main goal of the parent study was to examine the bio-psychosocial health status of persons exposed to Libby amphibole asbestos. This thesis augments that work by examining respiratory-related quality of life from a Libby sample and comparing with other groups reported in the scientific literature. Findings show that overall respiratory-related quality of life for persons exposed to Libby asbestos was similar to other respiratory-related disease cohorts. Implications to nursing practice and limitations of the study are discussed.

This study constructs a historical-geographical narrative of Poplar, Montana and explores residents' place-identity in the context of economic restructuring. Located on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in northeastern Montana, Poplar offers an ideal setting to better understand how economic restructuring affects the lives of residents in northern Plains reservation communities. Loss of businesses, consolidation of services, and general economic restructuring continue to challenge communities on the Great Plains. For Great Plains Indian reservations, however, these problems are compounded by additional variables such as persistently high poverty rates, a dynamic relationship with the federal government, and increasing populations. Archival research, landscape analysis, and interview data are all used to better understand the influence of economic restructuring in shaping Poplar. This study demonstrates the value of historical and cultural geographic approaches in understanding the past evolution as well as the contemporary challenges of reservation communities in the American West.

The thesis is mapping current situation on the market in warrants as nonstandardised option contracts. Particular attention is paid to the special issues of warrants modified into the form of so called "access products". The function of such financial instrument is to open extraordinary investment opportunity to certain kind of investors, who otherwise are not allowed to make direct investment into the underlying asset itself. Access products can be considered as particular financial innovation, which spread out on Central European capital markets. The most familiar form of access products are low strike price covered call warrants, the characteristics of which are being analyzed and compared to standard options and warrants. The author also focuses on the process of issuing warrant securities on Czech capital market according to Czech law and problems linked to it, which the issuer encounters. The thesis proves on the example of Fondul Proprietatea Warrants, which were in 2010 successfully placed to third market of Vienna Stock Exchange by Czech entity, that such warrant issue is possible despite of material complications stemming from the absence of clear definition of warrants in Czech law.

The purpose of a psychobiography is to describe an individual‟s life while using a psychological theory. James Warren “Jim” Jones was selected through purposive sampling because of his instrumental role in organising the largest mass suicide in recorded USA history. Kernberg‟s (1979; 1985; 2004) object relations theory was used to illuminate his life and personality dynamics, a theory focused on describing the borderline personality organisation. The study employed a qualitative single case study design, and data was analysed according to the principals set out by Yin (1994) as well as Miles and Huberman (1994). Results indicated that Kernberg‟s (1979; 1985; 2004) theory was suitable in shedding light on the life of this infamous historical figure, which resulted in an increased understanding of the application of this psychological theory. Lastly, it contributed towards increasing the limited number of psychobiographical studies conducted in South Africa.

In order to receive full compensation for damage caused during air transportation, plaintiffs try to get around the liability limitations of the Warsaw regime, inter alia, by alleging willful misconduct on the part of the carrier or its agents and servants under Article 25 of the Warsaw and Hague Conventions. On their part, carriers have an interest in limiting their potential liability under the said regime, and in avoiding any possibility of breaking the stipulated monetary limitation. Consequently, the said provisions are litigated frequently without, however, bringing uniform results in different jurisdictions of the world.This thesis makes a study of the application and interpretation of the willful misconduct exception (Article 25) of the original Warsaw Convention as well as its subsequent amendments. The study reviews the treatment accorded to the relevant provisions in different common and civil law jurisdictions. Further, the problem is examined from the point of view of Muhammadan Islamic jurisprudence. This paper also traces the legislative history of the relevant provisions of the original treaty and its subsequent amendments.
The final chapter of the thesis assesses the possibility of a "new" consolidated regime for international air carriage and concludes that at present Montreal Protocols Nos. 3 and 4 may be allowed to work.

The primary objective of this research was to develop a spending model for biltong
hunters in South Africa.
Biltong hunting has developed into a popular recreational activity that provides
economic benefits for South Africa over the past years and is the single biggest
source of income for game farm owners. Biltong hunters spend money on game
hunted, accommodation, fuel, hunting gear, equipment, food and beverages. One
method to help stimulate hunters to increase their spending on a game farm is to
determine and manage the determinants of expenditure which can be managed
within a specific model. A spending model can also assist practitioners and
researchers to determine the contribution of hunting to an area or country, as
spending is the main element to economic impact. Therefore it is important to
determine the variables that form part of such a spending model, also seen in the
light that hunting contributes significantly to the economy of South Africa and the fact
that South Africa has a vast numbers of game and hunting destinations. A spending
model includes socio–demographic, travel behaviour and geographic characteristics
of the object studied. A study of literature revealed that no spending model exists for
biltong hunting.
Quantitative research was conducted and a probability sampling method was used.
Questionnaires were mailed to the members of the SA Hunters and Game
Conservation Association together with their monthly magazine (SA Hunters/SA
Jagters) during November/December 2007. An interactive questionnaire was loaded
onto the websites of the South African Hunters and Game Conservation Association
(SAHGCA), the Professional Hunters Association of South Africa (PHASA) and the
national Confederation of Hunting Associations of South Africa (CHASA) during the
months of September/October 2007. In total, 676 questionnaires were received back
via e–mail, fax and mail.
The results of this research show that biltong hunting appeals primarily to a niche
market, comprising married Afrikaans males between the ages of 49 and 56 years.
The level of education shows that the majority of hunters have either a degree or a
diploma and are self–employed. Hunting is a social and cultural activity with most
hunters hunting in groups. Hunters go on an average of five hunting trips per annum and spend an average of four days hunting. This analysis will examine the total
spending by biltong hunters as well as these variables. Most of the hunters hunt in
their province of residence as well as adjacent provinces. Therefore the geographic
location of a game farm plays a role in a hunter’s choice of hunting destination as
well as the level of their spending.
The top five game species hunted by South African biltong hunters are springbok,
blesbok, impala, kudu and blue wildebeest. Hunters of these popular species in all
cases originate from Gauteng. The preferred species are mainly hunted in two
provinces, Limpopo (blesbok, impala, kudu & blue wildebeest) and the Northern
Cape Province (springbok).
From a game farmer’s as well as marketing perspective, this research makes an
important contribution. This is the first research of its kind done in South Africa and
this research contributes towards the body of knowledge on the spending behaviour
of biltong hunters in South Africa.
Contribution of this study to the discipline of Tourism Management
The study made the following contribution to the field of hunting research:
? This study is the first to suggest a spending model for biltong hunters in South
Africa.
? It increases the understanding of the socio–demographic and travel behaviour
attributes of biltong hunters.
? It determines which species generate the greatest income for game farms.
Understanding which species generate the greatest income and are more
popular than others for hunters will enable game farmers to host these
species and, as a result, meet the needs and expectations of hunters, thereby
generating more revenue
? As proof of the above, a first article was published in Acta Academica,
42(3):61–85 under the following title: Socio–demographic profile and travel
behaviour of biltong hunters in South Africa.
? Different methods used on the same data set, impacts on the outcome of
results. For example: Article 1, a regression analysis was conducted using
SPSS 16 (using the whole sample pertaining the nine provinces in South
Africa); Article 2, firstly, a statistical analysis was conducted using SAS
System for windows (SAS) and secondly, a linear regression analysis using the five most important provinces where hunters’ originate from. From the
statistical analysis and sections of data used in this thesis different outcomes
were obtained. With regards to this study the following discrepancies in
results were detected:
? Article 1: Professional and occasional hunters spend more than dedicated
hunters.
? Article 2: Dedicated hunters spend more.
? Article 1: Married hunters spend more.
? Article 2: Unmarried hunters spend more.
? Article 1: There is a positive correlation with spending and hunters residing in
Gauteng, Free State, North–West and Western Cape.
? Article 2: Hunters residing in Gauteng, North–West and Northern Cape spend

Parade Square in Warsaw is a battleground where different political projects are confronted, without any possibility of a seamless reconciliation. Prior to World War II, the area used to be a dense residential neighborhood. In the post war years, it was reconfigured by the socialist urban design project. It became the site of a monumental skyscraper commissioned by Stalin, called the Palace of Culture and Science. Today, having been used as a parking lot for the past quarter of a century, Parade Square is about to be reconfigured again, this time by the neo-liberal economic forces. This thesis positions the square as an agonistic space, in which every order is political and based on some form of exclusion. The project seeks to disrupt the prevailing contemporary discourse about the future of Parade Square and to bring to the fore other possibilities that have been repressed and that can be reactivated.

The program enhances the capabilities of the environment by providing rapid unification and subsumption tests for the very significant class of unit clauses. This should improve performance substantially for large programs that generate and use many unit clauses.

This change in the stock price process leads to subsequent changes in the prices of options written on the issuing company's stocks. Another notable work is W.G. Zhang, W.L. Xiao and C.X. He, Equity warrant pricing model under Fractional Brownian motion and an empirical study, Expert System with Applications 36(2) (2009) 3056-3065 where the authors construct equity warrants pricing model under Fractional Brownian motion and deduce the European options pricing formula with a simple method. We study this paper in details in this mini-thesis. We also study some of the mathematical models on warrant pricing using the Black-Scholes framework. The relationship between the price of the warrants and the price of the call accounts for the dilution effect is also studied mathematically. Finally we do some numerical simulations to derive the value of warrants.

The Early Eocene (47-56 Ma) 'greenhouse' climate represented the warmest climatic conditions witnessed in the last 90 million years, with peak Eocene warmth (the Early Eocene Climatic optimum, EECO) occurring around 50-52 Ma (Sexton et al. 2006; Bijl et al. 2009; Zachos et al. 2008; Littler et al. 2014) with subsequent global cooling thereafter (Sexton et al. 2006; Zachos et al. 2008). Ocean circulation plays a critical role in redistributing thermal energy across the planet and providing ventilation to the deepest parts of the ocean. Understanding how it may have operated in a globally warm world with little equator-to-pole gradients is paramount to understanding how it may respond to increasing temperatures today. The prevailing view of the early Eocene ocean was that deep-water formation was confined to the Southern Ocean, with little or no deep-water formation in the North Atlantic, unlike today. This study explores whether there is evidence for deep-water formation in the high latitude North Atlantic during the extreme climatic warmth of the early Eocene and its stability across transient climatic excursions. It also explores the strength and vigour of ocean circulation and whether this was influenced by the global decline in temperature following early Eocene peak-warmth. It utilises the neodymium isotopic signature of fossilised fish teeth (εNd) that is widely utilised to trace the movements of deep-water masses and can be used to reconstruct paleooceanic circulation along with detrital εNd that is an indicator of sediment provenance. It combines these with fish tooth rare earth element concentrations and sediment core XRF. Four key locations are utilised. Two on the Newfoundland margin in the West North Atlantic, and one from the high North Atlantic in the Labrador Sea, both idea1 locations to identify the potential outputs of North Atlantic deep-water formation. The fourth site is Demerara Rise in the Equatorial Atlantic, chosen to monitor changes in the dominant source of deep-water sources from the North or the South.

The purpose of this creative project was to create a diffuse system of tourism destination nodes and corridors that have various niche uses throughout Warren County. This diffuse approach utilized an eco-tourism pattern language that allows for less strain and maximum benefits on natural resources and cultural heritage. Theoretical knowledge on assessing eco-tourism principles and interpreting cultural landscapes was used to assess significant resources in Warren County. The significant natural resources such as water resources, wildlife corridors, topographic features, and vegetation were inventoried and analyzed. Cultural histories of the Seneca, pioneer trading, industrial practices, and Amish lifestyles were interpreted. Current plans of development along the Allegheny riverfront, MusariumTM, Northwest Pennsylvania Greenways, and the Allegheny Wilds, were considered, adapted, and critiqued for their usefulness to tourism development in the county. The consideration of these current plans, coupled with the frameworks of Christopher Alexander's Pattern Language, interpretations of cultural landscapes, and current GIS technologies were used in the creation of general eco-tourism pattern language that was applied to tourism destination nodes, corridors, and activity centers in Warren County.The city of warren serves as the county's central destination hub, from which corridors connect destination nodes that extend radially from the city. The nodes consist of the Kinzua Reservoir, the town of Tidioute, Chapman State Park, Buckaloons-Cornplanter State Forest, and the towns of Akeley-Scandia. Pricing Turbo Warrants with binomial trees can be a challenging or even impossible task. The presence of a barrier makes pricing highly sensitive to computational settings and numerical parameters, rather than the actual pricing mathematics. To remedy this, new numerical methods, of which Crank Nicolson is one such method, are investigated. The survey indicates that the Crank Nicolson method not only solves the aforementioned sensitivities to settings, but also is a worthy competitor to the binomial method in more cases than just the Turbo Warrant.Prissättning av Turbowarranter med binomialträdkan vara en besvärlig eller omöjlig uppgift. Närsjukvården i Finspång har idag 540 patienter som är i behov av, och behandlas med det blodförtunnande läkemedlet Waran. Läkemedlet ges till de som drabbats av blodpropp (bentrombos/lungemboli), förmaksflimmer eller har klaffproteser. Patienterna besöker i stor del den mottagning som finns på Finspångs Lasarett men det finns de som av olika anledningar inte kan ta sig till mottagningen, främst beroende på att de lider av andra sjukdomar som gör att de har svårt att förflytta sig längre sträckor. Därför besöks de i hemmet och där tar DS de prover som behövs. Grunden till projektet Närsjukvården i Finspång-Förbättringsarbete för Waran-patienter i Finspång, är att hitta andra lösningar på hur situation kan förändras och därigenom också förbättras för de patienter där provtagningen måste ske i hemmet. Projektet har resulterat i en analys kring fyra olika scenarier som alla medförde förbättringar både vad gäller kostnader, transporter och tid. För att få en inblick i vilka scenarier som användes beskrivs de nedan. Scenario 1a visar en bild över situationen som den såg ut när fösta kartläggningen skedde i och med det första besöket på Närsjukvården i Finspång. Scenario 1b visar en bild över hur hanteringen av patienterna fungerar vid andra kartläggningen på Närsjukvården i Finspång. Här har vissa patientbesök redan ersatts med att patienterna själva, med hjälp av CoaguChek, genomför kontroll av sitt INR-värde. Scenario 2 liknar scenario 1a men istället för en distriktssköterska (DS) är det en biomedicinsk analytiker (BMA) som besöker patienterna och genomför provtagningen. Scenario 3 ger en bild över hur det ser ut när det är en DS som gör hembesöken men att provtagningen nu sker med hjälp av CoaguChek. Scenarier har därefter analyserats sinsemellan med fördelar och nackdelar och projektet har kommit fram till den lösning som projektet anser vara den bäst lämpade för hanteringen av Waran patienterna.

Santiago Waria es el penúltimo libro de Elvira Hernández. El poemario consta de veintinueve poemas ordenados alfabéticamente. En el eje principal del poemario Santiago Waria, se recrea un contra-mundo que intenta mantener latente ese juego entre memoria y olvido posteriores a los años de dictadura; mediante las encrucijadas propuestas por un poemario enigmático dónde lo no dicho tiene más resonancia interpretativa que lo dicho explícitamente.

The liability regime of the air carrier is regulated by the Warsaw Convention of 1929. The latter establishes a certain uniform set of regulations in the field of international carriage by air. This universally accepted Convention was gradually amended and supplemented by later instruments in order to adjust and adapt this uniform set of rules to the changing and rapid growth of the aviation industry.Thailand, however, is one of the few countries who have not yet become a party to this beneficial system. This results in conflicts of laws and jurisdictions.
The purpose of this dissertation is to explain and analyze the necessity and significance of Thailand's adherence to the Warsaw System, and to propose a strategy for Thailand to become a party to this system.

An equity warrant gives the holder the right to buy a fixed number of underlying shares at a specified price before the warrant's maturity date. This is similar to call options. The similarities allow practitioners and researchers to adopt the Black-Scholes (BS) model developed by Black & Scholes (1973) to approximate the value of equity warrants. However, there are several features of equity warrants that differ from normal call options on shares. These features can have important implications on valuing warrants using the BS model. They include: • Potential dilution effect on share value and management control. • The long time to maturity of warrant at the time of issuance. This poses a challenge to a number of assumptions in the BS model, specifically the assumption of constant instantaneous volatility, constant risk-free interest rate and a perfect knowledge of the dividend size and the timing of ex-dividend date. This study focuses on two special aspects of equity warrant, i.e. its potential dilution effect on equity value and the potential impact of the long maturity period on the constant volatility assumption in warrant pricing. A warrant pricing model that incorporates a flexible stochastic volatility process on an equity return and adjusted for potential dilution effect was proposed. It is a model based on the stochastic volatility option pricing model derived by Hull & White (1988). The impact of potential dilution effect on the pricing error results from the use of the BS model to price equity warrants is studied. The necessity of incorporating a stochastic volatility and/or a stochastic interest rate process into the pricing model is then analysed. Empirical tests that compares the performance of several warrant pricing models - Simple BS Model, Dilution Adjusted BS Model, Free-9 Dilution Adjusted Constant Elasticity Variance Model and Dilution Adjusted Stochastic Volatility Model are carried out.

The Taiwan warrant market began in 1997, it has been 19 years. According to a January, 2015 market statistical data, Taiwan warrant market are second largest in Asian, sixth largest in global. For Taiwan warrant market research is also booming. Many research indicated that warrant market price is significantly different from theoretical price. However, there is limited explanation for the difference. This study sample is from TEJ data base of derivative financial products including 2013-2015 Taiwan index warrants, Taiwan top 50 index constituent stock warrants. This study firstly focuses on is warrant price fairly priced. The result shows that warrant price is not fairly priced. Second, this paper studies on the warrant price premium of Taiwan top 50 index constituent stock warrants and use regression to further explore the causes of premium. Through this study can be used as reference for investment.

We use covered warrants with underlying assets of Taiwan Semiconductor and Hon Hai Precisions traded in the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) from 2012 to 2014, and examine whether hedging activity of short warrants impacts the underlying stock in the introduction period. Investors expect an increase in stock price in the introduction period of warrants because hedging call warrants need to buy underlying shares. However, a decrease in stock price is expected when hedging put warrants in the same period. If the hedging phenomenon really impacts on underlying asset prices, investors simply can exploit the opportunity to obtain abnormal returns. Results indicate that the stock price and trading volumes increase when warrants are announced. Significant positive abnormal returns can be generated if investors purchase the underlying shares before and sell after the announcement date.

Eretmocerus warrae (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) is a parasitoid of the greenhouse whitefly，Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae). It is suspected to be a better biological control agent at high temperatures than Encarsia formosa (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), a wasp which is widely sold for control of T. vaporariorum. Experiments were conducted to investigate how temperature affects the development and behaviour of E. warrae. It attained the highest estimated developmental rate at 31.5 °C and the optimum temperature for oviposition was 30.5 °C. Developmental times of E. warrae at fluctuating temperatures that simulate night-day patterns were similar to those predicted based on constant temperatures. Above the optimum temperature, E. warrae tolerated higher temperatures than En. formosa during development and as adults. Using a ramping temperature approach, the critical thermal maxima of E. warrae was 42.7 ± 0.5 °C, 0.6 °C higher than that of En. formosa. Thus, E. warrae is better adapted to high temperatures than En. formosa, and it could be a complementary or superior biological control agent during summer months in hot regions. The fitness of parasitoids are substantially been influenced by temperature. Although the body-size of both this parasitoid and its host were influenced by temperature, E. warrae gained relatively more fitness in body-size at 20 °C. The predicted body volume index increment of body size from 32 to 20 °C of the parasitoids was 274.1 %, compared with its host at 91.1 %. The life-time oviposition of female adult of E. warrae that grew at immature developmental temperature of 20 °C was 86 ± 22, more than that of 26 and 32 °C at 66 ± 11 and 65 ± 23. Besides the influence on fecundity, temperature also influences the oviposition behaviour at the adult stage, more eggs were oviposited at 20 and 26 °C than those parasitoids at 32 °C. The relationship of life-time oviposition with immature and adult temperature was modelled, both immature and adult temperature play a role on life-time oviposition. Temperature negatively affected longevity in both adult stage and immature developmental stages. An adult female could live 8.9 ± 1.8 days at 20 °C, compared with 5.7 ± 1.7 days at 32 °C. Moreover, E. warrae conducts a quicker oviposition at 26 °C than at 20 °C. More eggs were laid in the first two days at 26 °C, while after two days, females oviposited more eggs at 20 °C. The body-size has a positive effect on both the life-time oviposition and longevity. Experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of (1) host stage on the behaviour and development of parasitoids, and (2) the relative body-size of parasitoids on the host stage choice. In both no choice and choice tests, the parasitoid E. warrae preferred the second instar of T. vaporariorum for parasitism. The behavioural patterns of the parasitoid were observed when handling different instars of hosts. A significantly larger proportion of behaviour was devoted to stinging (40.7 %) when the second instar hosts were provided to parasitoids. The acceptance (84.1 ± 8.9 %) and emergence rates (83.2 ± 7.8 %) from second instar hosts were also the highest, which indicated that second instars are the preferred stage to attack. The body size of E. warrae is affected by temperature during immature development. Wasps that develop at 20 oC are larger than those that develop at 32 oC. The relative bodysize of the parasitoid compared to its host was shown to affect the host stage choice of the parasitoids. Smaller wasps preferred younger host instars while third instar hosts appeared to be too large to be parasitised by them. Larger wasps preferred older instars, while the relatively small first instar hosts were not attacked by larger wasps. However, both small and large wasps preferred second instar hosts. The behavioural patterns of small and large wasps handling second instar hosts were compared. Smaller wasps spent longer periods on antennating hosts than larger ones. Despite displaying similar proportions of the sting behaviour, the frequencies of stinging behaviour of larger parasitoids (35.4 ± 4.1 / h) were much higher than those of smaller ones (17.4 ± 6.0 / h), which reflected the greater fecundity and oviposition activity of larger wasps. In this paper we analyze the manner in which the position generated by brokerage delta hedging affects the price of the underlying asset. In order to discuses the relation between the hedging by brokerage and the price of the underlying assets at the introduction, during the intermediate, and at the expiration of the warrant. We use the warrants with the underlying assets of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Soft-World international Corporation traded in Taiwan Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2016. In Taiwan, brokerage has to buy(sell) delta ratio of the underlying assets to hedge when the call(sell) warrants issue. During the intermediate, they adjust the hedging position by the delta. At the expiration date, they have to rebalance the position until maturity of warrants by hedging. In the past, the research found out there was a little evidence that warrants trading had a significant impact on the underlying stock price but confirmed that the stock price would be close to the strike price when the warrants close to maturity. The main purpose of this paper is to explore whether the delta hedging will have an impact on the stock price. The result show that our hypothesis 1 was rejected, the relation between hedging and underlying assets stock price was significant negative. And accepted the hypothesis 2, the delta hedging by brokerage under the volatility effects was significant negative. We assumes that when the brokerage firm takes a continuous delta hedge, this adjustment helps to stabilize the Taiwan market.

The impact of Sensory stimulation on consumers is not only their feelings but their psychological warmth. Mental condition can be represented by psychological warmth. Psychological warmth indirectly makes an impact on decision-making and behavior patterns of consumers. In this study, we design three experiments: visual stimulation, auditory stimulation and taste stimulation. We take them as sensory stimulation variables of manipulating consumers’ psychological warmth and investigate whether consumers’ psychological warmth will change due to different types of sensory stimulations. Besides, we study on consumer choices of the type of volunteers (high social interaction / low social interaction), the type of food (healthy food / unhealthy food), the dressing style (casual / regular) and the gift type (Hedonic / Utilitarian).The results show that: 1.people’s psychological warmth will be influenced by the sensory stimulation. 2.Comparing the warmth stimulation with the cold one, the warmth stimulation has higher psychological warmth. 3.When people’ psychological warmth is high, they tend to choose participating in volunteer community activity with high social interaction, on the contrary participating in volunteer activity with low social interaction. 4.When people’ psychological warmth is high, they tend to choose healthy food on the contrary choose type of unhealthy food. 5.When people’ psychological warmth is high, they tend to choose the utilitarian type of gifts on the contrary choose the hedonic type of gifts. 6.When people’ psychological warmth is high, they tend to to choose regular style of dressing on the contrary choose causal style of dressing in the taste experiment.

Abstract Digital content industry is an important part of the modern society. For artists, it is easier to access these technology. And the faux-naif hand drawing would never just be handcraft. With the help of digital technology, now hand drawing has more possibility. This report uses [Warmth Snatcher] as an example of how these techniques influenced the creating process, and how they helped to express the story.
