The trade-off between awareness and interruption is a crucial aspect in network fault notifiers: Low severity alarms should not distract operators from other primary tasks, however it might be crucial that operators promptly react to critical notifications. A notification system should hence determine when a particular interruption is appropriate and how it should be presented. In this direction, this paper presents a multistep design path beginning from the objective of designing a proof-of-concept for a glanceable alarm notification component for telecommunication network management systems based on a peripheral display approach. In particular the goal was a notifier guided by severity-based strategies and offering the information expressiveness of a one-notification-at-the-time perspective while enriching it with overview capabilities to guarantee (possibly subliminal) long-term local and global content comprehension and prompt reaction only when the interruption from the foreground task is dictated by the fault severity. A first design macro-phase led to the simple yet effective GLANCE (GLanceable Alarm Notification for a User Centered Experience) model, based on a visual coding technique oriented to comprehension and reaction, and a transition strategy oriented to interruptions and reaction. A second design macro-phase studied the application of GLANCE to a personal customizable multichannel notification tool and to a service-oriented fault monitor for digital terrestrial television broadcasting networks.

When someone uses a wheelchair, there is still the possibility of an accident to the user, such as when the user suddenly falls down from the wheelchair or the user falls down along with the wheelchair. For notification of emergency conditions for wheelchair users, an alarm system is designed that can send messages to the intended mobile number. The system is designed using Wemos D1 mini, Ultrasonic, MPU-6050 and Proximity E18-D80NK sensors. The conclusion from the measurement and test results are: the value read by the MPU-6050 sensor is taken one axis for each direction when the wheelchair was falling down, Y≤180o for left falling down, X≤50o for right falling down, Z≤65o for forward falling and Z≥140o for backwards falling down. The Ultrasonic sensor works well for detecting the presence of user’s legs and the E18-D80NK proximity sensor works well for detecting the position of the user who is sitting in a wheelchair. Receiving notifications through the BLYNK server works well, not affected by distance provided there is an internet connection connected to the device.

Location-based notification (LBN) aims to alert the users in a target area to their interested information. With a wide range of applications, LBN has been gaining more and more attraction among wireless users and service providers. The mainstream centralized solution based on cellular networks may incur high service cost. In this paper, we present an innovative scheme called Phoenix, which does not rely on any infrastructure, to implement location-based notification service. In our design, devices (users) across the target area form a dynamic peer-to-peer network, where a user can be a message source, a message carrier, or a message subscriber. When a user meets the message carrier, he will get a copy of the message. Phoenix keeps messages of interest being circulated in the target area; hence users are being notified. To achieve desired notification performance, Phoenix adaptively controls when a user should take the carrier role and help disseminating a message in order to keep the message “alive,” given the fact that message carriers may leave the target area and drop the message. Extensive simulations have been conducted to show the efficacy of Phoenix notification system.

This study aims to determine the use of the whatsapp gateway service in the loan notification system (SINOPI) at the Pekalongan City Library and Archives Service. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The data collection technique used in this research is by conducting interviews. The informants in the study used purposive sampling technique, namely the technique of determining informants based on certain criteria. This study resulted in the finding that this service could at least minimize the delay in returning books by as much as 20 copies per day. This service has been used by all users who have registered as members of the Pekalongan City Regional Library. With this system, the service for extending the loan period is automatically served by the server without having any officers on guard and without having to come to the library location. This application development is easy to use and understand by its users and easy to access. The obstacles that often occur are notification information that is not conveyed or cannot be read by users due to several factors including; a power cut by PLN so that the server is down and unable to send notifications, the registered user cellphone number is no longer active / changed the number, because the internet subscription (kouta) of the user has run out and notifications are ignored.

This study used the Rapid Application Development (RAD) Methodology ensured that the phases in system development are done in the software building process. A prototype was developed that is used in the pilot implementation and a questionnaire has been distributed to the respondents to gather the information that can be used to determine if the functions of the system can benefit the owner/user. The findings revealed t that the system requires functional requirements such as; the user must be computer literate and knowledgeable on how the security system works, the location must have a Telecommunication signal and USB dongle must have loaded. Non-functional requirements such as; easy to use and high cost but can be useful; Hardware and Software Requirements with the latest version of the software with the help of computers that has higher specifications that the user/homeowner requires to have a user account to access and operate the system the system has good technical performance as to functionality, reliability, efficiency, and usability. Furthermore, the system entailed efficiency and was easy to use by the respondents.

In this paper a Door lock system using RFID and IOT Technologies. Using smart phone with Blynk App the Admin or owner can remotely monitor, control (ON & OFF the access) and can get Blynk notifications from the door lock when someone try to access it or if any suspicious activity happens (someone try to break the it). The registered User will receive Gmail’s when he tries to unlock the door. Other features are the admin or owner can remotely unlock and lock the door from any place, and he can disable the switch which is used for getting out from the room, for blocking the unknown persons who went with theft RFID card, it is done by seeing the notifications send to the user when door is unlocked with his card through Admin. For authorized person the lock will be opened and closed automatically after a predetermined delay. If it is an unauthorized person tries it alerts the admin and neighbors through a Blynk notification and buzzer sound. Thus, once implemented, the system will prove An Effective security with minimum cost and increase in comfort for system users and also more efficient compared to existing cost ineffective systems.

This system has the ability to record all the medical information about a child such as the heig ht, weight, treatments and medical conditions . It also has the ability to rec ord the visit s and immunization details, reminder for next visits and immunization appointments. A User Experience ( UX ) Test were conducted during the study to evaluate the system . User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) is the instrument that is being utilized during the UX Testing to evaluate the user experience quality of a product. UEQ has been divided into six scales which are attractiveness, perspicuity, efficiency, dependability, stimulation and novelty . During the UX Testing, the users were given a chance to explore and evaluate the system. The result from the UX Testing indicates that most of the users agree that the system is attractive and has a good perspicuity, efficiency, dependability, stimulation and novelty. In conclusion, this research h as achieved the objectives which are to design, develop and evaluate a Web - Based Child Health Record System with Appointment Notifications.

System is based on sensors which provides the real time reading of soil and temperature to the microcontroller and then sent to the user’s android mobile phone in form of notification and then image is captured using digital camera and save in database. Captured image is processed in MATLAB using the best image processing algorithm to identify about the disease type and alert the user about the disease attack on leaf. So results shows that the proposed technique is effective for the bettermnet in field of agriculture.

Motion Shield is an automatic crash notification system that uses a mobile phone to generate automatic alerts related to the safety of a user when the user is boarding a means of transportation. The objective of Motion Shield is to improve road safety by considering a moving vehicle’s risk, estimating the probability of an emergency, and assessing the likelihood of an accident. The system, using multiple sources of external information, the mobile phone sensors’ readings, geolocated information, weather data, and historical evidence of traffic accidents, processes a plethora of parameters in order to predict the onset of an accident and act preventively. All the collected data are forwarded into a decision support system which dynamically calculates the mobility risk and driving behavior aspects in order to proactively send personalized notifications and alerts to the user and a public safety answering point (PSAP) (112).

Abstract Daily garbage production causes increasing in garbage management and cleansing cost which required an approach for better monitoring and management system to be applied. Currently, demand of IoT keep increasing as a part of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). Eventually, this IoT based Garbage Monitoring and Management System has been developed. For hygiene, self-opening dustbin lid is applied and IoT technology is used to integrate better garbage monitoring and management into an innovative and effective system. The development of this smart bin uses a pair of infrared sensors and an ultrasonic, push notifications were developed in Blynk application, and user-friendly infographic data is designed on webpage for monitoring and garbage management purposes. The smart dustbin notifies the user when the garbage level exceeds 80%. The dustbin sends a push notification to the user’s phone to alert the user to take actions needed before the bin exceed the limit.

In this paper we present a pervasive proposal for advertising using mobile phones, Near Field Communication, geolocation and air hand gestures. Advertising post built by users in public/private spaces can store multiple ads containing any kind of textual, graphic or multimedia information. Ads are automatically shows in the mobile phone of the users using a notification based process considering relative user location between the posts and the user preferences. Moreover, ads can be stored and retrieved from the post using hand gestures and Near Field Communication technology. Secure management of information about users, posts, and notifications and the use of instant messaging enable the development of systems to extend the current advertising strategies based on Web, large displays or digital signage.

This research was conducted to increase the productivity of farmers and to plan the planting of crops by farmers when using a hydroponics system that controls various environmental conditions, in which plant growth factors such as temperature, humidity, water temperature, pH and electrical conductivity are important factors for hydroponics. The Internet of Things control and notifications enabling farmers to quickly modify and improve their crop treatment. This research focuses on use of the Internet of Things to control plant growth factors. Displays and alerts are communicated to the user through a web application where, when comparing plants with controlled growth factors and unregulated systems, it can be seen controlled plant growth factors are in the desired range of the plant, whereas in uncontrolled systems there are unwanted values range of plant, which can cause the plant to not fully grow or even to wither. In this system, farmers are able to view plant growth factor data and can retrospectively view graphs displayed on the web application by this controlled system when the measuring sensors in the system are in range that plants do not want. It prompts farmers to manage the system, which allows them to fix the system quickly and with minimal damage to crops.

Tutoring service is essential for students who require extra academic guidance in learning, especially in primary and secondary education levels. The common problems encountered by any students are the difficulties in finding the suitable tutors based on their preferred choice. The current existing web applications are still lack of responsive elements where they just only provide the fill-in form to search for the tutors. Therefore, the aim of this study is to address the inherent issue in finding suitable tutor match among the students and teachers by utilizing responsive filtering feature and SMS notification technology. The inclusion of these features is crucial to ensure that both parties informed on the appointment arrangement and status. The system known as GRAB Tutor Management System is targeted the secondary students especially the SPM candidates. This study adapts and simplifies System Development Life Cycle methodology into Three-Phase Model in designing and developing the system. The three phases are analysis, development, and evaluation phase. Each phase carries specific activities to accomplish the aim of this study and successfully delivered the proposed solution. GRAB Tutor Management System undergone a series of testing to evaluate its functionalities and acceptability. Functionality testing involved four expert and novice users, meanwhile user acceptance testing was conducted with 30 participants of secondary schoolteachers and students. The functionality test result revealed that all features are well functioned and successfully delivered. The user acceptance testing result indicates positive acceptance with the overall mean score is 4.64, which shown that the participants are agreed that this system is acceptable, easy to use and useful. It is proven that this study has successfully delivered a web-based Grab Tutor Management System with SMS Notifications that is useful for the tutors and students

Instant messaging services usually integrate a notification system on their users’ devices, as phone calls and short message service (SMS) systems do. Telegram is – as far as we are aware – the only popular instant messaging service that uses open source code. Telegram also provides APIs for their users, enabling the development of a bot system that allows instant messaging application to access information. Here, we study the potential use of Telegram bot as a user interface to a paperless office (PLO) system developed in our institution. We found that Telegram bot improves communication among the users; however, as the amount of messages increased, the server becomes overloaded. This limitation suggests that future works need to be directed to improving the efficiency of the bot

Windows Push Notifications (WPN) is a relevant part of Windows 10 interaction with the user. It is comprised of badges, tiles and toasts. Important and meaningful data can be conveyed by notifications, namely by so-called toasts that can popup with information regarding a new incoming email or a recent message from a social network. In this paper, we analyze the Windows 10 Notification systems from a digital forensic perspective, focusing on the main forensic artifacts conveyed by WPN. We also briefly analyze Windows 11 first release’s WPN system, observing that internal data structures are practically identical to Windows 10. We provide an open source Python 3 command line application to parse and extract data from the Windows Push Notification SQLite3 database, and a Jython module that allows the well-known Autopsy digital forensic software to interact with the application and thus to also parse and process Windows Push Notifications forensic artifacts. From our study, we observe that forensic data provided by WPN are scarce, although they still need to be considered, namely if traditional Windows forensic artifacts are not available. Furthermore, toasts are clearly WPN’s most relevant source of forensic data.

There are many malware applications in Smartphone. Smartphone’s users may become unaware if their data has been recorded and stolen by intruders via malware. Smartphone—whether for business or personal use—may not be protected from malwares. Thus, monitoring, detecting, tracking, and notification (MDTN) have become the main purpose of the writing of this paper. MDTN is meant to enable Smartphone to prevent and reduce the number of cybercrimes. The methods are shown to be effective in protecting Smartphone and isolating malware and sending warning in the form of notification to the user about the danger in progress. In particular, (a) MDTN process is possible and will be enabled for Smartphone environment. (b) The methods are shown to be an advanced security for private sensitive data of the Smartphone user.

Abstract Objectives This study sought to quantify the association between event notifications and subsequent query-based health information exchange (HIE) use among end users of three different community health information organizations. Materials and Methods Using system-log data merged with user characteristics, regression-adjusted estimates were used to describe the association between event notifications and subsequent query-based HIE usage. Results Approximately 5% of event notifications were associated with query-based HIE usage within 30 days. In adjusted models, odds of query-based HIE usage following an event notification were higher for older patients and for alerts triggered by a discharge event. Query-based HIE usage was more common among specialty clinics and Federally Qualified Health Centers than primary care organizations. Discussion and Conclusion In this novel combination of data, 1 in 20 event notifications resulted in subsequent query-based HIE usage. Results from this study suggest that event notifications and query-based HIE can be applied together to address clinical and population health use cases.

In application-layer DoS/DDoS attacks, malicious users attack the victim server by sending lots of legitimate requesting packages, which overwhelm the server bottleneck resources. Normal user’s request thus may not be satisfied. The traditional intrusion detection systems for network-layer cannot effectively identify this attack, and recent researches on this kind of attack are mainly for Web servers. This paper proposed a new defense algorithm based on user activity for topic-based Pub/Sub communication servers in mobile push notification systems. Users consuming system bottleneck resources the most can get high scores and thus are considered overactive. With some resource retaken strategy, overactive users’ connections will be dropped according to system performance level. Therefore, the system can get rid of latent threatens. Experiments indicated that this algorithm can identify normal and abnormal users well.

In mobile computing, a fundamental problem is maintaining awareness of the environment and of information presented as messages on a mobile device. In mobile police patrols, officers need to pay attention to their direct environment and stay informed of incidents elsewhere. To prevent unwanted interruption, a context-aware notification system adapts the timing and appearance of incident messages, based on user activity (available, in transit, or busy) and message priority (high, normal, or low). The authors evaluated the benefits and costs of adaptive notification compared to three uniform notification styles (presenting full messages, postponing messages or presenting indicators). Thirty-two trained student participants used a prototype notification system in a controlled mobile patrol task. The results were validated in a follow-up study with twenty-four police officers.

The surveillance camera system is widely used by the public. The surveillance camera system used is usually a CCTV camera. In general, CCTV cameras can only record video. Security monitoring or monitoring by CCTV cameras can only be effective if there are operators who see the record directly on a monitor. Actually the surveillance camera system can be programmed to give a warning sign to the user. The surveillance camera used in this study is the IP camera. The camera is a camera that can be programmed to provide a notification to the user. By implementing motion-based tracking technology on the surveillance camera system can detect movement. Kalman filter is one of the motion-based tracking methods. Kalman filters can predict the movements recorded by the IP camera. The results of this study state that the surveillance camera system can provide notification messages to users via an android device when the surveillance camera records the movement of human objects.

Sistem memanfaatkan Raspberry Pi yang dikoneksikan dengan Internet serta sebuah modul GSM untuk keperluan pengiriman hasil notifikasi SMS. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan untuk dapat membuat sistem yang dimaksud adalah dengan membuat algoritma untuk proses analisa dan prediksi serta proses notifikasi, merancang dan membuat tampilan halaman web untuk <em>user profile</em>, dan menguji coba kelayakan dari program-program yang sudah dibuat. Dari hasil percobaan diketahui bahwa sistem yang telah dibuat mampu membuat analisa prediksi harga pasar saham serta menggunakan hasil dari prediksi tersebut untuk mengirimkan notifikasi berupa SMS kepada para <em>user</em>.</p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em></p><p class="Abstract"><em>This project is intended to create a system that can analyze and predict price trends up or down from a stock market, and send SMS notifications about the results of predictions to users. The system utilizes a Raspberry Pi that is connected to the Internet and a GSM module for sending SMS notification results. The steps taken to create the system in question is to create a program for the analysis and prediction process and notification process, design and create a web page display for the user profile, and test the feasibility of the programs that have been made. Abstract The advances of digital technology bring the era where the communication platform of modern society facilitates the spreading of information which is effortless yet distracting. This paper describes the development of a mobile application on the android platform as a service that provides information on Indonesian space weather conditions where the pushed- notification method is used to deliver information to the service’s stakeholders as the targeted users. The notification which presents the message directly to the users’ device is considered the most effective way to engage the users. A cross-platform message data builder based on GSON and Retrofit interface is implemented to construct information contents in the notification as well as in the application, suitable for use cases that occurred to accommodate the user preference. Furthermore, the application uses mobile device token identification to specifically manage the engagement process served by Firebase, a Google cloud messaging system. The application analytic indicates that the user-application retention of average users is about 80 percent and the success rate of delivered instant messages with push notification is 96 percent respectively during one month of testing from 48 registered users.

This research presents an arrival notification system for paratransit passengers with disabilities. Almost all curb-to-curb paratransit services have a significantly large pickup time window, ranging from 20 to 40 min from the scheduled time and producing substantial passenger waiting times. The arrival notification system presented in this study delivers an automated voice call to a registered user once the paratransit vehicle is in proximity to the pickup location. The system utilizes the Google Traffic application programming interface (API) for the vehicle arrival estimation. Unlike other vehicle arrival notification systems in the state of the practice, the proposed system is compact and does not require additional equipment such as radio transmitting and positioning devices. The proposed system, which uses consumer mobile devices with the Android or iOS platform, is designed to exploit commercial cellular network service (i.e., 3G and 4G-LTE). In addition to the passenger notification, the proposed system provides paratransit drivers with real-time route guidance information developed through the Google Maps API. Field evaluation conducted in Essex County, New Jersey, revealed significant reduction in passenger waiting time. The passenger waiting time was reduced by 15 to 20 min. In addition, the accuracy of the notification system was tested. During the test, in almost all cases, the vehicle arrived 1 min earlier than the proposed arrival time.

Managing people is a difficult task and maintaining the attendance record is an important factor for most of the organizations. Meanwhile, in the industrial sector, a precise attendance record system of the employees is important for companies, especially for the payroll process. There are various existing technology that has been implemented to help an industrial sector to manage their attendance records. The use of current technology such as fingerprint biometric scanner and mobile devices as a complement to the software development will benefits to the industrial sector in order to enhance their services. This paper described a fingerprint biometric-based and web-based management system integrated with short message service (SMS) notification for attendance records of the employees known ANotify. It was specifically developed for an industrial sector that uses fingerprint as biometric features for employee attendance, is able to store records of employees’ attendance in organized, systematic, and the SMS alert notification to the supervisors about the employee attendance reports. This system was developed based on System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as a methodology. A user acceptance test was conducted with thirty (30) respondents to determine the effectiveness of the system by evaluating the questionnaire which was categorized into three (3) parts included user interface satisfaction, perceived ease of use, and integration of SMS notification. Results of the system evaluation showed that the system has a positive impact and to be well accepted by users, convenient, economic and reliable method of notification for the attendance records

Salah satu solusi yang dilakukan adalah penempatan kamera untuk memantau keamanan rumah secara real time diintegrasikan dengan penyimpanan cloud. Bluemix merupakan salah satu provider untuk aplikasi cloud yang memiliki layanan pengolahan dan penyimpanan data, akses aplikasi mobile, pengawasan serta Internet of Things (IoT). Sistem yang diimplementasikan adalah integrasi Raspberry Pi dengan layanan Bluemix untuk melakukan pengawasan keamanan rumah dan memberikan notifikasi kepada pengguna. Sistem mendeteksi jarak menggunakan sensor HC-SR04 terhadap objek dan apabila jarak melewati acuan, hal tersebut adalah indikasi terjadinya pencurian. Berikutnya sistem akan menyalakan buzzer sebagai keluaran suara dan mengaktifkan kamera untuk mengambil gambar lalu diunggah ke object storage Bluemix. Langkah berikutnya yaitu layanan IBM push notification memberikan notifikasi ke perangkat Android pengguna. Pengujian dilakukan dengan menghalangi pembacaan sensor sehingga terjadi indikasi pencurian. Hasilnya adalah sistem berhasil menyalakan buzzer, mengambil gambar lalu diunggah ke Bluemix, dan notifikasi berhasil masuk pada Android. Notifikasi diterima oleh file browser pada perangkat Android dan dilakukan sinkronisasi dengan object storage untuk melakukan pengunduhan berkas gambar yang telah diunggah sebelumnya.Kata kunci: Bluemix, Raspberry Pi, object sorage, IBM push notification Home security system is an implementation that needs to be done to improve the security of unwanted events. Some implementations only provide a simple notification such as alarm and cannot become strong evidence in case of theft. One of the solutions is camera placement to monitor home security in real time integrated with cloud storage. Bluemix is a provider for cloud applications that have data processing and storage services, mobile application access, monitoring and Internet of Things (IoT). System implemented was integration of Raspberry Pi with Bluemix services to conduct home security surveillance and provide notification to user. System detected distance using HC-SR04 sensor to object and if distance passes the reference, it was an indication of theft. Next, system will turned on buzzer as a sound output and activating the camera to take picture and uploaded to Bluemix Object Storage. Next step was IBM push notification service giving notification to user's Android device. The testing was done by blocking the sensor readings so that there was an indication of theft. The result was system succeeded in turning on the buzzer, taking pictures, uploading pictures to Bluemix, and notification successfully logged on Android. Notifications are received by the file browser on Android device and synchronized with object storage to download image files that have been uploaded previously.Keywords: Bluemix, Raspberry Pi, object storage, IBM push notification

Push Notification is one service that can answer the problem so that no more information is not delivered the latest, with the use of this service every update information will be immediately sent as a message notification, so the latest information will not be missed. Push Notification Services are generally widely applied to mobile applications such as Android and iOS. For the use of the largest mobile operating system based on statcounter for 2012 to 2016 in Indonesia is controlled by the Android Operating System. The system is Short Message Service (SMS) based and uses wireless technology for providing security against gas leakage to users hence cost effective and more adaptable. The system comprises of sensors for detecting gas leakinterfaced to microcontroller that will give an alert to user whenever there is a gas leakage, display warning information by using Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), sending SMS to the user for notification wherever he/she might be and turning off electric power with the help of magnetic relay. This will enable the user to take precaution of explosion disaster whichmay result on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cookers like loss of properties, injury or even death. GLDS provides ideal solution to gas leakage problems faced by home owners in daily life.

Online learning in K-12 and higher education has been growing rapidly, and open source software has the potential to improve the quality of e-learning. This paper describes how FOSS enables turning e-learning from a potentially restrictive framing of the education experience to an emergent and social experience. The authors identify several key elements of the FOSS model that position open source initiatives to contribute to the emergent and social nature of experience in e-learning. The authors also describe several challenges to developing FOSS in a community of educators for e-learning. These elements and challenges are illustrated in a brief case report about the development of an open source software system called Context-aware Activity Notification System (CANS). CANS (http://cansaware.com) is a notification system that integrates with collaborative work and learning systems and is designed around the importance of awareness of user activity, a user’s social context and personal notification preferences.

In this work, we extend the previously proposed approach of improving mutual perception during human–robot collaboration by communicating the robot’s motion intentions and status to a human worker using hand-worn haptic feedback devices. The improvement is presented by introducing spatial tactile feedback, which provides the human worker with more intuitive information about the currently planned robot’s trajectory, given its spatial configuration. The enhanced feedback devices communicate directional information through activation of six tactors spatially organised to represent an orthogonal coordinate frame: the vibration activates on the side of the feedback device that is closest to the future path of the robot. To test the effectiveness of the improved human–machine interface, two user studies were prepared and conducted. The first study aimed to quantitatively evaluate the ease of differentiating activation of individual tactors of the notification devices. The second user study aimed to assess the overall usability of the enhanced notification mode for improving human awareness about the planned trajectory of a robot. The results of the first experiment allowed to identify the tactors for which vibration intensity was most often confused by users. The results of the second experiment showed that the enhanced notification system allowed the participants to complete the task faster and, in general, improved user awareness of the robot’s movement plan, according to both objective and subjective data. Moreover, the majority of participants (82%) favoured the improved notification system over its previous non-directional version and vision-based inspection.

The library strives to maintain and improve efficiency and effectiveness in teaching and learning. Currently there are still many library services that use manual methods. Computerized service systems are able to streamline library services, so transactions such as searching, borrowing, returning and managing data can be done quickly and accurately. In this research, a website-based library service system is integrated with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) as a library visitor identity card which can also be used when borrowing and returning books, and Quick Response Code (QR Code) is used as book identification. In this application the admin can process data, register books and members, borrow and return books, and view transaction reports. This application also provides e-mail notifications to resolve problems such as late returns to the loss of borrowed books. The notification automatically sends a message to the user to return the book on the last day of the loan. The existence of a service system in this website-based library application makes it easier for administrators in managing data, improving library services, and email notifications helps to remind the day of returning books.

The problem with submitting assignments to teachers is students submit the assignments to teacher, there are a lot of assignments submission per day to teacher, but sometime students cannot hand in their assignment to teacher because teacher teach other section, so teacher cannot acknowledge student submission. According to the problem, researcher has been working on this research. The purposes of the research were to: 1) design the notification system for sending the assignment using Internet of Things technology, 2) develop devices for submitting the assignment and notifying submission information via LINE application using Internet of Things technology, and 3) evaluate user satisfaction in using the notification system for sending the assignment using Internet of Things technology. The population is students and teachers in Phranakhon Rajabhat University. The sample group consisted of 50 people using the purposive sampling. The research instruments were: 1) the notification system for sending the assignment using Internet of Things technology, and 2) the assessment form for user satisfaction in using the notification system for sending the assignment using Internet of Things technology. The results of the research showed that the system functions are working properly. The evaluation consisted of four parts: 1) the system designing had good level ( x =4.12) and the standard deviation was 0.48, 2) the system usability had very good level ( x =4.52) and the standard deviation was 0.22, 3) the system benefit had very good level ( x =4.68) and the standard deviation was 0.38, and 4) the system overview had good level ( x =4.38) and the standard deviation was 0.56. The results of four parts from the evaluation showed that the system was effective.

The automated microcontroller-based circuit protection and control system is integrated with IoT element, which consisted of both hardware software components, and communication devices. The designed system is to acquire the electrical parameters such as current and voltage as well the power consumption using sensors. ThingSpeak is engaged, mainly used to acquire data from the microcontroller via wireless communication, to further analyse and visualize it in the required form and sends SMS notification to the user through Wi-Fi, such as over/under current, over/under voltage, & excessive power consumption, depending on the data analysis. Once user received notification, remedial action can be further taken to isolate faulted part from circuit, or to take desired action for safety purpose. The designed prototype is enhanced circuit protection (automated), incorporating data storage, monitor/control of electrical loads intelligently and offers user safety and security of the electrical operation.

One of the ways to reduce inappropriate management of hives and monitor bee health is to send notifications/alerts about the data collected through sensors. This study presents BeeNotified!, a solution for sending notifications through Telegram, e-mail, and SMS. The notifications warn about the level of temperature, humidity, sound, carbon dioxide, oxygen, hive weight and delay in data gathering. From this data, researchers and beekeepers can be informed and make changes in the locations of the hives, avoiding catastrophes and possible diseases. The results obtained with the processing time in the sending of messages showed that the messages sent via SMS and Telegram have a shorter processing time compared to the sending via e-mail. In regards to sending notifications according to user preferences, all notifications were sent correctly.

This research presents the Preventive Maintenance Data Logger (PMDL) Monitoring System and the process of how it has been manufactured. Preventive Maintenance Data Logger Monitoring System is a device which will collect the data from vehicle’s sensor for prevention maintenance and then save the data to other storage for future analysis. Preventive Maintenance Data Logger Monitoring System also can send notification to user for crash prevention. This project comprises of mechanical system, electronic system, and software system. The methodology of the Preventive Maintenance Data Logger system and prototype development is discussed in this paper on the manufacturing processes. The software is programmed using C language in Arduino software and the notification for preventive are develop using BLYNK application. Manufacturing processes involves in making this project, including additive manufacturing, welding and cutting. Several test case studies were conducted to verify the capability of the device in term of the vehicle speed, location, crash point data, distance between other vehicles detection and reliability.

Nowadays, the rapid advancement of mobile software development has triggered to emerge of more online text messaging applications. In the environment of higher education institutions, it is also widely utilized to support the communication process between campus members. This research proposed a system of campus-specific online text messaging that is expected to improve academic activities. As a case study, the system was implemented using <em>React Native</em> framework and <em>Push Notification Service</em> for use in State Polytechnic of Malang, Indonesia. The system consists of three main subsystems that work together, including <em>Client Application</em>, <em>Server Application</em>, and <em>Push Notification Manager</em>. To evaluate the proposed system, we conducted a survey. The result of the user satisfaction test shows that most users consisting of lecturers, staff, and students felt more helped in the communication process in the campus environment.

Abstract The use of emergency notification systems on college and university campuses nationwide have been a focus since the 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech. In the aftermath, many of these institutions sought to install new emergency notification systems, or overhaul existing systems, to alert students in the event a similar incident took place on their campus. Researchers also began to focus on these systems by exploring their implementation and effectiveness; despite such advances in the literature, however, a noticeable gap persists. Specifically, much of the research focuses on the technology rather than the users themselves. Conducted at a large southwestern university, the present study sought to narrow this void by examining the perceptions and employment of the system by a key group of users – faculty and staff members – who often are considered the first line of defense in emergencies on campus. The findings not only highlight the continued need for multimodal notification systems, but also better education and training with relation to their use to increase user engagement and improve overall operations. Limitations of the study, directions for future research, and related policy implications for universities also are discussed.

The Mawar Garbage Bank needs a waste bank data management information system with a Web-based Telegram Bot notification feature on the Garbage Bank. The goal is to provide convenience to the officers of the Mawar Garbage Bank to speed up the process of managing data and delivering information in an effective and efficient manner to customers. This research uses the waterfall method. By using a MySQL database, PHP programming language and Laravel Framework. As well as diagrams used for system modeling using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). With this system, it is hoped that it can make it easier to manage data and provide information about the waste bank which is useful for the Mawar Garbage Bank. This research will be tested using Black Box, White Box and User Acceptance Test (UAT). As for the notification using a telegram bot. The notification from the telegram bot aims to make it easier for customers to find information such as balances, savings flows, and cash withdrawals. From the black box test, you get 100% results, which means that the system has met the design objectives, so this system is suitable for use. White box test results get 100% results with the resulting complexity is 2 which shows that it can meet the criteria for software engineering. The results of the user acceptance test (UAT) test get a 98% result, which means that the software is acceptable and has met the requested needs.

In this article, an automatic door security was designed used SMS, which serves as security for a microcontroller based door. This system was designed to facilitate the home user to lock the door and notice the condition of the house when the doors were left empty. The medium used is a phone by using SMS facility. This device consists of a sensor that is a “push button” that serves as input to inform the condition of the door to the microcontroller, microcontroller used is ATmega328P. Then Wavecom GSM Modem M1306B which serves as the sender and recipient SMS, using a solenoid to lock the door, and use the buzzer for alarm. The security system has been built with the working principles if there are people who want to try to enter and then numbers uninitialized on the microcontroller, the system will give a warning SMS notification to the user that "THERE ARE TRYING SIGN", and when the system is forcibly opened, the system will activate alarm as a warning sign and send SMS alert notification text of "alarm" to the phone number programmed into microcontroller.

Objective. To identify the challenges encountered by private health care providers (PHCP) to notify tuberculosis cases through a programme developed web-based portal mechanism called “NIKSHAY.” Study Design. It is a descriptive qualitative study conducted at two revised national tuberculosis control programme (RNTCP) districts of New Delhi. The study included in-depth interviews of PHCP registered with “NIKSHAY” and RNTCP programme personnel. Grounded theory was used to conceptualise the latent social patterns in implementation of tuberculosis case notification process and promptly identifying their challenges. Results. The analysis resulted in identification of three broad themes: (a) system implementation by RNTCP: it emphasizes the TB notification process by the RNTCP programme personnel; (b) challenges faced by PHCP for TB notification with five different subthemes; and (c) perceived gaps and suggestions: to improvise the TB notification process for the private health sector. The challenges encountered by PHCP were mainly related to unsystematic planning and suboptimal implementation by programme personnel at the state and district level. The PHCP lacked clarity on the need for TB notification. Conclusion. Implementation of TB notification among private health care providers requires systematic planning by the programme personnel. The process should be user-friendly with additional benefits to the patients.

Final Year Project (FYP) is a compulsory requirement for graduation of every bachelor programme in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Finding a topic for the final year project is quite challenging. However, being able to access previous FYP thesis helps students to generate some ideas. Supervisors and lecturers can also determine whether the proposed project is already among the previous research project or a new one. Unfortunately, the past FYP thesis is usually kept in a specific thesis room. Hence, this will make going to the thesis room and searching the thesis for references quite burdensome. The lack of electronic management for FYP thesis causes several problems in arrangement and search methods. This project aims to develop Smart Final Year Project Archive System (SFYPAS) using Laravel Framework and evaluate the system in terms of technology acceptance model (TAM). SFYPAS is developed using Laravel framework and the methodology used throughout the project is using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The system tested based on its functionality, user acceptance with TAM and heuristic evaluation by an expert. The system was tested on thirty respondents who shared their feedback by answering a set of questionnaires upon completing the testing. The result shows that the mean for user acceptance with TAM in terms of perceived ease of use is 4.27, while perceived usefulness is 4.47. Thus, it shows that the respondents are satisfied with the system in terms of its perceived usefulness. In conclusion, this research has achieved the objectives where it eases the user by providing a web-based smart archive system as a platform to access the past FYP thesis. For future work, the system can be improved by adding a search engine that implements any searching algorithm to yield a better result.

College Management system is Salesforce CRM based application which is the new technical way to manage all department related jobs. Collage management system is helpful for students as well as the colleges. In the existing system all the activities are done manually. It is very costly and time consuming. In our proposed system, students can view results using phones. The data will be stored in the Salesforce. The Admin, Faculty or the student should be a register user. The faculty can login into their college account through the application itself and update the academic result like internal exam marks obtained by the students. In this system students have easy access for viewing the marks; the application will check user authentications. Students are not permitted to manipulate any data. The proposed work has two modules: A. Student B. Teacher C. Admin. In the student’s module, students need to register their university registration number, college registration number, student name. Admin module maintains the student’s marks of internal college exams. Other than this the advanced features are: In case of natural calamities such as floods, etc. notification to students will be sent from admin office through application directly. Any new notice for a particular semester will be uploaded by professor through application notifying to respective semester students. The students can download different subject notes according to their departments. The faculty of particular department is responsible for updating the assignments, updating the attendance of every student, updating the notification related to department.

This type of research is the development of a prototype method withqualitative data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, documentation, and brainstorming.The stages of the prototype method include analyzing user needs, making prototypes, adjusting prototypes tothe user's wishes, creating new systems, testing systems, adjusting the system to the user's wishes, andusing the system. The results of this study are information systems for borrowing and returning medicalrecords with a web-based barcode and WhatsApp notification system that facilitates the process of trackingfiles and overcoming problems in the process of borrowing and returning medical records
