Повний текст джерелаUnder senare år har fokus och tillämpning av hållbarhet i byggnader ökat, både för miljö och mänskligt välbefinnande. Kvaliteten på inomhusmiljön påverkar välbefinnandet, produktiviteten och arbetsprestandan. Tyvärr kan det också påverka de anställda negativt, som ökad risk för olika sjukdomar och hälsoproblem. En bra inomhusmiljö tillsammans med applikationer av hållbara material, ordentliga HVAC-installationer och byggregler bidrar till en hållbar lösning med låg miljöpåverkan och minskad energiförbrukning. Eftersom byggnader ensamma svarar för 38% av alla mänskliga växthusgasutsläpp (Wikipedia, 2017), rekommenderar de flesta länder nya mer hållbara lösningar för att minska den procentuella andelen. I EU strävar EUs klimat- och energipaket 2020 till att; minska 20% av växthusgasutsläppen, 20% av EUs energi från förnybara energikällor och 20% förbättrad energieffektivitet (European Commission, n.d.). Förutom den positiva aspekten av låg miljöpåverkan har nya konstruktioner skapat en bra levnads- och arbetsmiljö för användarna. Studier har visat att en bättre inomhuskvalitet ökar produktiviteten och arbetsprestandan men framförallt känner sig brukarna bekväma och nöjda med sin miljö. Ett stort antal rapporter har granskats enligt akustisk, visuell, termisk komfort och inomhusluftkvalitet, som är huvudaspekterna av inomhusklimatet. De flesta rapporter fokuserar på användarnas uppfattning om dessa fyra aspekter samt andra parametrar som påverkar inomhusmiljön (arkitektonisk geometri, material osv.). På samma sätt fokuserar jag på två olika metoder för att erhålla resultaten. Den objektiva metoden som innehåller innemiljömätningar och den subjektiva metoden som innehåller ett frågeformulär som skapats specifikt för detta forskningsprojekt. Genom att erhålla dessa två uppsättningar data utvecklas viktiga fokuspunkter, till exempel om byggnadens certifiering uppfyller Miljöbyggnads rekommendationer, vilka aspekter som i huvudsak påverkar elevernas uppfattning och om det finns några tydliga samband mellan uppmätta och beräknade data. Studiefallet utvecklades i en universitetsbyggnad i Stockholm, där de fyra huvudaspekterna av inomhusmiljön utvärderades. De fysiska parametrarna mättes såsom temperatur, lufthastighet, relativ fuktighet, CO2-koncentration och akustiken i fem olika klassrum. Dessutom har en undersökning utvecklats för detta studieprojekt som inkluderade uppfattningsfrågor inom termisk, visuell, akustisk komfort och inomhusluftkvalitet. Kön och klimatzonens ursprung var två andra parametrar som påverkade den övergripande inomhusmiljöuppfattningen, enligt andra studier. Även om majoriteten av båda könen röstade för "ingen förändring" svarade restrerande kvinnor att de föredrog klasrummet varmare. Dessutom svarade flertalet från alla klimatzoner "ingen förändring", även om den näst högsta åsikten för studenter från varmare klimatzoner var "varmare", vilket också har hittats i andra studier. Höga negativa korrelationer hittades mellan akustiken och tillfredsställningsnivån för den akustiska komforten. På samma sätt observerades höga korrelationer mellan den visuella komfortnöjdhetsnivån och de tre aspekter som påverkar den. Vidare visade resultaten att alla fysiska mätningar påverkade elevernas termiska komfort och upplevelse av inomhusluftkvalitet. Alla erhållna mätningar indikerade en bra inomhusmiljö i alla klassrum och att alla värden var inom svensk standards rekommendationer. Låg korrelation hittades mellan den uppmätta PVM (predicted mean vote) och AMV (actual mean vote) från frågeformulären även om alla värden var inom gränserna. Dessutom granskar studien metoder som kan tillämpas på liknande framtida studier liksom vilka slags fel som bör undvikas i framtiden. Det finns fortfarande mycket forskning som kan utvecklas för att förstå mer om inomhusmiljön och hur människor uppfattar den.

This research examined the concepts of sustainability on an university campus. To sustain this theme, firstly it was brought up the debate on need to seek a sustainable development, then the challenge that organizations face to suit this purpose and, finally, the reflection on the role of the university on this perspective. Thus, the questions that establish the course of the study are: what is a sustainable campus? And how does it work a management model that integrates the values of sustainability? To answer the first question, it was looked for support in the academic theoretical framework. The aspects that indicate the sustainability of a university campus were analyzed and a chart that synthetizes these aspects was made, being applied as a standard for the field study. The field study aimed to answer the second question of this research: how does it work a management model that integrates the values of sustainability? This was accomplished through a case study on the campus of PUC-SP at Barueri. Data collection for this study came about through in-depth interviews conducted with employees from the campus, analysis of documents provided by the direction of campus and participant observation conducted by the researcher. Evidence shows that the social group under analysis is in an early stage of the quest for sustainability. However, it presents actions on almost all the investigated aspects. The analysis of the campus was made through positive and negative considerations about each of the aspects investigated, of which the negative reviews were brought by the interviewees themselves. Although sustainability is in the agenda of most organizations and under an intense debate, many questions remain to be investigated about the role of the university on the sustainable development and about the real contributions it can offer to this subject. Through the debate established in this research and its field study, it was possible to analyze the interaction of the theoretical dimension and what actually occurs in a real context
A presente pesquisa analisou os conceitos de sustentabilidade em um campus universitário. O debate teórico que a sustenta, se inicia pela problematização que traz a necessidade de se buscar o desenvolvimento sustentável, passando pelo desafio que as organizações enfrentam para se adequarem a este propósito e chegando a reflexão do papel da universidade sobre esta perspectiva. Desta forma, as questões colocadas para estabelecer o rumo do trabalho foram: o que é um campus universitário sustentável? E, como funciona um modelo de gestão que integra os valores da sustentabilidade? Para responder a primeira questão, buscou-se respaldo no referencial teórico. Analisaram-se os aspectos que indicam a sustentabilidade de um campus universitário e estruturou-se um quadro que sintetizou estes aspectos e que foi utilizado como padrão de análise para o estudo de campo. O estudo de campo teve como objetivo responder a segunda questão colocada para a pesquisa: como funciona um modelo de gestão que integra os valores da sustentabilidade? Este foi realizado através de um estudo de caso no campus de Barueri da PUC-SP. A coleta de dados para este estudo se deu através de entrevistas em profundidade realizadas com funcionários do campus, de análise de documentos disponibilizados pela direção do campus e da observação participante realizada pela pesquisadora. As evidências mostram que o núcleo social analisado se encontra em um estágio inicial da busca pela sustentabilidade. Entretanto, que nele existem ações sobre quase todos os aspectos investigados. A análise do campus se deu através de considerações positivas e negativas sobre cada um dos aspectos investigados, das quais as análises negativas foram realizadas pelos próprios entrevistados. Acredita-se que apesar deste assunto se encontrar em pauta de um intenso debate, ainda há muitas questões que devem ser respondidas e, principalmente, investigadas sobre o papel da academia frente ao desenvolvimento sustentável e as reais contribuições que estes podem oferecer. Campus mediation programs (CMP's) experienced a rapid growth in higher education institutions from 18 programs in 1990 to more than 200 programs in 1998 (Warters, 2000). During that period, CMP's became a widely accepted approach for addressing conflict within US colleges and universities. However, recent data indicate that there are just over 100 programs which points to a decline and raises questions as to the value of campus mediation programs to higher education institutions. A hindrance to addressing the questions raised has been the limited amount of empirical research and published data on evaluation use within campus mediation programs. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to gather information from US campus mediation program directors regarding their use of program evaluation in order to suggest ways to improve their evaluation efforts. Campus mediation program directors were surveyed on their perceptions of evaluation use in their respective programs. This study was conducted over a period of six months using a web-survey and follow-up telephone interviews. The web-based survey used in this study was adapted from an online campus mediation program survey developed by Rick Olshak and modified. The web-survey consisted of four sections: Demographics, Description of Services, Evaluation and Program Profile. The population consisted of 108 campus mediation program directors in US higher education institutions who were solicited for this study and agreed to participate. Of the 108 directors, there were a total of 59 respondents representing a 55% response rate. There were nine respondents who participated in a follow-up telephone interview. Data analysis for the research questions utilized rank order, frequencies, and averages; supplemental analyses utilized an independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA's and Pearson correlations. Results indicated that evaluation received one of the lowest priority ranking as a program goal, however, most of the directors indicated that they would be very interested in learning different ways of improving their evaluation methods and having a standard evaluation process. The most prevalent concerns and recommendations from the telephone follow-up interviews focused on acquiring buy-in of administration and campus affiliates, improving program surveys, addressing budget cuts and decreasing high staff turnovers.

A inovação deste trabalho baseia-se na elaboração e implantação de ferramentas para auxiliar na tomada de decisão referente a gerenciamento de resíduos, considerando que a comunidade de instituições de ensino superior são potenciais agentes promotores de sustentabilidade. Além disso, estratégias para integrar a dimensão educacional das IES com o engajamento, as dimensões operacional e de políticas e gestão é o que diferencia o modelo aqui proposto de outros modelos existentes. É importante entender que as IES, diferentes das outras instituições, têm a obrigação de construir conhecimento e treinar sua comunidade para servir a sociedade. A responsabilidade da IES em preparar novos líderes, tem a oportunidade de aumentar a conscientização e a cultura sustentável, envolvendo sua comunidade nas atividades diárias, preparando-as para ver desafios diários e resolvê-lo através de abordagens mais sustentáveis. As ferramentas foram elaboradas usando interfaces de ciências sociais, engenharia e modelagem computacional. Os produtos desta tese são: A revisão da literatura sobre o gerenciamento de resíduos sólidos nas Instituições de Ensino Superior; A descrição da gestão de resíduos sólidos no campus da Universidade de São Paulo - São Carlos, um estudo que descreve os fatores de fortalecimento e fragilização do programa de reciclagem de Recicla da Universidade de São Paulo; Um modelo para a gestão de resíduos sólidos nas Instituições de Ensino Superior; O uso da questionários como ferramenta para avaliar a cultura de sustentabilidade na Universidade de São Paulo - Campus de São Carlos; O Índice de Gestão de Resíduos Sólidos para Instituições de Ensino Superior Brasileiras; e O uso da metodologia de modelagem baseada em agentes como uma ferramenta de tomada de decisão para iniciativas de reciclagem. As principais conclusões são que há uma lacuna em ferramentas para ajudar a tomada de decisão em relação ao gerenciamento de resíduos sólidos e que consideram as especificidades das instituições de ensino superior, o que leva à criação de ferramentas para atender a essas necessidades. Trabalhando para implantar ferramentas com interface entre as ciências sociais, engenharia, e modelagem computacional os pesquisadores puderam trabalhar em um campo inovador, rico e pouco explorado.

Повний текст джерелаThe study aimed at evaluating social work fieldwork practice at the University of Limpopo (Turfloop Campus) in relation to theory. The alignment of social work theory and practice is the goal of Social Work profession. Fieldwork practice in social work education forms the practical component of a social work curriculum. It is an essential bridge from classroom to service delivery settings as it provides an opportunity for social work students to connect theoretical education and fieldwork practice. However there is lack of integration between Social Work theory and Social Work fieldwork practice. There is indeed a continuing tension between theory and practice. With regard to the methodology, a combination of quantitative–qualitative research approach was used. Self-administered questionnaires, interview guide and focus group discussions were used to collect data from 3rd year and 4th year social work students as well as agency-based supervisors. The study revealed that social work fieldwork practice is essential for the integration of theory into practice. Therefore the department of Social Work at the University of Limpopo should organize workshops for agency-based supervisors to update their theoretical knowledge base. Fieldwork assessment tool should be reviewed and Social work students should also be involved in the assessment process and self-assessment should also be introduced.

This academic research takes the of moderning process at the library of the University of Tocantins (UFT) on the Campus of Palmas, with it to see the preliminary results of this moderning process are articulated information needs of the academic community. Also understand if there is any relationship between the Institutional Evaluation of the National Assessment of Higher Education (SINAES) and the process of moderning of that library. For this analysis we considered the opinions of members of academic community, so this assessment were not adopted indicators or quality standards previously established. The approach of this evaluative research is interpretive, since of the concept of evaluation of public policies Lejanos (2006), and the mode of assessment is the investigation of this case study. The data were get and analyze resources by triangulation of methods, since they were involved in this study qualitative and quantitative data collected through bibliographical research, participant observation, questionnaires and interviews. We conclude that the process of modernization of the campus library Palmas is considered by its users as significant. However, their investments and actions are conducted in a fragmented way, so the infrastructure for information technology, human resources and the body do not match the needs of users of that library. The design employed in this modernization process is technical and managerial, whose meaning is agility, control and standardization of services of eight libraries of UFT. Note also that this process of modernization were prioritized administrative tasks of the library, so that there was an attempt to focus on meeting the requirements of the evaluation of SINAES, in detriment of the expectations of the academic community. From these data we conclude that this process is consistent with the historical background and the assumptions of the modernization project of the Brazilian higher education, which is based on liberal ideals and emphasizes the technical aspects, the increased efficiency of public administration, productivity, cost effectiveness and so on. It is recommended that the UFT discuss the process of modernization with library users, in order to carry out a systematic planning for continuity, it is also suggested the appointment of an interdisciplinary team to accompany him. Moreover, it is important to effective and expanded student participation in the Steering Committee of the Library System of UFT. So, generally identified that need public policies that coordinate and fund the development of federal university libraries.
Nesta pesquisa se estuda o processo de modernização da biblioteca da Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT) no Campus de Palmas, com o intuito de avaliar se os resultados preliminares desse processo estão articulados às necessidades de informação da comunidade acadêmica. Procura-se também compreender se há alguma relação entre a Avaliação Institucional do Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior (SINAES) e o processo de modernização dessa biblioteca. A abordagem desta pesquisa é a interpretativa, a partir da concepção de avaliação de políticas públicas de Lejano (2006), a modalidade de investigação é o estudo de caso. Para coleta e análise dos dados foram utilizados recursos da triangulação de métodos por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, documental, observação participante, questionários e entrevistas. Conclui-se que o processo de modernização da biblioteca do Campus de Palmas é considerado por seus usuários como significativo. Contudo, os seus investimentos e ações são realizados de modo fragmentado, por isso a infraestrutura para a informatização, os recursos humanos e o acervo não condizem com as necessidades dos usuários da referida biblioteca. A concepção de modernização empregada nesse processo é tecnicista e gerencial, cujo sentido é a agilidade, o controle e a padronização dos serviços das oito bibliotecas da UFT. Nota-se também que nesse processo de modernização foram priorizadas as tarefas administrativas da biblioteca, isso por que, houve um enfoque na tentativa de atender as exigências da avaliação do SINAES, em detrimento das expectativas dos membros da comunidade acadêmica. A partir desses dados conclui-se que esse processo é coerente com os antecedentes históricos e com os pressupostos do projeto de modernização da educação superior brasileira, o qual está baseado em ideais liberais e enfatiza os aspectos técnicos, o aumento da eficácia da administração pública, a produtividade, a relação custo-benefício e etc. Recomenda-se que a UFT discuta o processo de modernização com os usuários da biblioteca, para assim realizar um planejamento sistemático para a sua continuidade, sugere-se também a nomeação de uma equipe interdisciplinar para acompanhá-lo. Além disso, é importante que seja efetivada e ampliada a participação discente no Comitê Gestor do Sistema de Bibliotecas da UFT. De modo, geral identificou-se que são necessárias políticas públicas que articulem e financiem o desenvolvimento das bibliotecas universitárias federais.

Procura-se tambÃm compreender se hà alguma relaÃÃo entre a AvaliaÃÃo Institucional do Sistema Nacional de AvaliaÃÃo da EducaÃÃo Superior (SINAES) e o processo de modernizaÃÃo dessa biblioteca. A abordagem desta pesquisa à a interpretativa, a partir da concepÃÃo de avaliaÃÃo de polÃticas pÃblicas de Lejano (2006), a modalidade de investigaÃÃo à o estudo de caso. Para coleta e anÃlise dos dados foram utilizados recursos da triangulaÃÃo de mÃtodos por meio de pesquisa bibliogrÃfica, documental, observaÃÃo participante, questionÃrios e entrevistas. Conclui-se que o processo de modernizaÃÃo da biblioteca do Campus de Palmas à considerado por seus usuÃrios como significativo. Contudo, os seus investimentos e aÃÃes sÃo realizados de modo fragmentado, por isso a infraestrutura para a informatizaÃÃo, os recursos humanos e o acervo nÃo condizem com as necessidades dos usuÃrios da referida biblioteca. A concepÃÃo de modernizaÃÃo empregada nesse processo à tecnicista e gerencial, cujo sentido à a agilidade, o controle e a padronizaÃÃo dos serviÃos das oito bibliotecas da UFT. Nota-se tambÃm que nesse processo de modernizaÃÃo foram priorizadas as tarefas administrativas da biblioteca, isso por que, houve um enfoque na tentativa de atender as exigÃncias da avaliaÃÃo do SINAES, em detrimento das expectativas dos membros da comunidade acadÃmica. This academic research takes the of moderning process at the library of the University of Tocantins (UFT) on the Campus of Palmas, with it to see the preliminary results of this moderning process are articulated information needs of the academic community. Also understand if there is any relationship between the Institutional Evaluation of the National Assessment of Higher Education (SINAES) and the process of moderning of that library. For this analysis we considered the opinions of members of academic community, so this assessment were not adopted indicators or quality standards previously established. The approach of this evaluative research is interpretive, since of the concept of evaluation of public policies Lejanos (2006), and the mode of assessment is the investigation of this case study. The data were get and analyze resources by triangulation of methods, since they were involved in this study qualitative and quantitative data collected through bibliographical research, participant observation, questionnaires and interviews. We conclude that the process of modernization of the campus library Palmas is considered by its users as significant. However, their investments and actions are conducted in a fragmented way, so the infrastructure for information technology, human resources and the body do not match the needs of users of that library. The design employed in this modernization process is technical and managerial, whose meaning is agility, control and standardization of services of eight libraries of UFT. Note also that this process of modernization were prioritized administrative tasks of the library, so that there was an attempt to focus on meeting the requirements of the evaluation of SINAES, in detriment of the expectations of the academic community. From these data we conclude that this process is consistent with the historical background and the assumptions of the modernization project of the Brazilian higher education, which is based on liberal ideals and emphasizes the technical aspects, the increased efficiency of public administration, productivity, cost effectiveness and so on. It is recommended that the UFT discuss the process of modernization with library users, in order to carry out a systematic planning for continuity, it is also suggested the appointment of an interdisciplinary team to accompany him. Moreover, it is important to effective and expanded student participation in the Steering Committee of the Library System of UFT. So, generally identified that need public policies that coordinate and fund the development of federal university libraries.

This work evaluated the asphalt pavements of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), where functional and structural data were collected based on the rules of the Departamento Nacional de Infra-estrutura de Transportes (DNIT). The pavements of the campus were divided in homogeneous subparts. In function of technical characteristics of the pavements, some methodologies proposed by the DNIT had little changes because the DNIT s rules used in this work were developed for using in pavements with technical standard, which were different of urban pavements. The functional analyses followed the roles of DNIT 006/2003 PRO e DNIT 009/2003 PRO, for the objectives and subjective superficial evaluations, respectively. In the deflectometer measurements, the methodology proposed by DNER ME 024/94 was used, which is referent to the determinations of the pavement s deflection through the Benkelman beam. More than 80% of the subparts objectively evaluated received scores between terrible and bad . However, in the subjective evaluation, the subparts received scores between good and regular . In the subparts studied on the deflectometer evaluation, according to the roles of the structural evaluation of the DNIT, was observed the necessity of complementary studies, to obtain more data on such pavements and subsequently develop projects aiming the improvement of structural conditions of these pavements. This work consists of the preliminary study of structural conditions survey of the asphalted pavements of the UFV. The analyses and interpretation of the data related to the structural and superficial conditions of these pavements will be used to the supervision and planning of works to improve them.
Este trabalho consta de uma investigação sobre as vias asfaltadas do Campus da Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), onde foram coletados dados funcionais e deflectométricos, baseando-se nas normas do Departamento Nacional de Infra-estrutura de Transportes (DNIT). Para tal, o sistema viário do Campus da UFV foi dividido em subtrechos homogêneos, e devido às características urbanas de suas ruas, algumas metodologias propostas pelo DNIT sofreram pequenas adaptações, pois as normas do DNIT empregadas no trabalho foram desenvolvidas para serem utilizadas em rodovias de padrão técnico diferente de vias urbanas. Para as análises funcionais foram seguidas às normas DNIT 006/2003 PRO e DNIT 009/2003 PRO, para a realização de avaliações superficiais objetivas e subjetivas, respectivamente. Nos trabalhos de medições deflectométricas, utilizou-se a metodologia proposta na norma DNER ME 024/94, que se refere à determinação das deflexões no pavimento através da viga Benkelman. Observou-se, nesta pesquisa, que mais de 80% dos subtrechos avaliados objetivamente receberam conceitos entre péssimo e ruim . Já por uma avaliação subjetiva, os subtrechos analisados ficaram com conceitos entre bom e regular . Quanto aos subtrechos analisados deflectométricamente, verificou-se, segundo as normas de avaliação estrutural do DNIT, a necessidade de estudos complementares, a fim de se obter mais dados sobre tais pavimentos, para que dessa forma sejam feitos projetos de reforço baseados nos critérios de resistência. Esse trabalho é uma fase preliminar de um conhecimento mais abrangente das condições estruturais do sistema viário desta universidade. A análise e interpretação de informações atualizadas, relativas às condições superficiais e estruturais destas vias servirão de suporte ao planejamento de obras de restauração.

Student teachers are faced with the challenge of adapting their teaching so as to accommodate active learning through self-assessment, peer assessment and reflection. The objectives of the study were therefore to explore how active learning may be enhanced through self-assessment, peer assessment and reflection. The participants in the study were second- and third-year students at Rundu Campus of the University of Namibia. The research employed a case study design with qualitative data and using a descriptive, contextual approach. Semi-structured interviews, focus-group interviews and observations were utilised to obtain data. Once consent was obtained from the relevant authorities, second- and third-year student teachers were interviewed. Ethical requirements were adhered to throughout the research process. The findings indicated that students had both positive and negative perceptions in respect of self-assessment, peer assessment and reflection in promoting their active engagement in learning. Overall, the findings of the study revealed positive signs that active learning can be enhanced by student teachers through the use of strategies such as self-assessment, peer assessment and reflection. The study also pointed to implications of the research for teacher education practices and possible future research.

Повний текст джерелаThe effect of Cumulative Mild Head Injury (CMHI) in contact sports, such as rugby, is seen increasingly at school level where more and more injuries are reported. Research on CMHI in contact sport is needed specifically amongst previously disadvantaged groups where little or no research has taken place. The research is thus intended to seek a better understanding of CMHI in the contact sport of rugby specifically amongst amateur players. A quantitative research approach was utilised with a quasi-experimental research design. A sample of 18 student rugby players and 18 volleyball (non-contact sport) controls was used. In terms of mean performances the tests did not reveal a consistent pattern of deficits which is typically associated with the effects of Cumulative Mild Head Injuries. There were significant results however, in terms of variability that suggests potential deficits in attention among the rugby group. The results are therefore indicative of a poorer overall cognitive profile for the rugby playing group. It is concluded that the increased variability may be displayed in individuals who suffer CMHI at an earlier age.

Повний текст джерелаO presente trabalho desenvolve-se sobre o território do Alto da Ajuda, designadamente do Pólo Universitário da Ajuda, compreendido entre uma área urbana, densificada pelos bairros sociais, adjacentes ao Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, e uma área natural, protagonizada pela Tapada da Ajuda e o Parque Florestal de Monsanto. O território abordado tem sofrido, temporalmente, sucessivas expansões descontroladas e desorganizadas, protagonizando diversas descontinuidades e carências urbanas. A inserção do Pólo Universitário, visando alojar um conjunto de faculdades, e desta forma estimular um espaço digno e carismático, veio refletir e acentuar a situação precária daquela zona da cidade, em grande parte, devido aos seus planos inacabados e, posteriormente, adulterados, configurando uma imagem descuidada e pouco atrativa. Situação, mais tarde acentuada pelas construções de carácter introspetivo que, configurando uma barreira física e visual sob o espaço natural de Monsanto, contribuem para uma segregação urbana, traduzindo-se num espaço sem relações e continuidades, tanto com a sua envolvente urbana e natural, como no seu espaço universitário. Este trabalho debruça-se sobre os temas de um novo desenho urbano, que assume um novo paradigma, a sustentabilidade, onde a vertente ecológica assume cada mais relevância. Neste contexto, o presente trabalho procura expor a necessidade de configurar a área do Pólo Universitário, criando uma relação com a sua envolvente urbana e natural, nomeadamente a cidade e o Parque Natural de Monsanto, respetivamente. Tal intenção materializa-se através da renaturalização do espaço público compreendido entre as faculdades do Pólo, traduzindo-se na proposta de um espaço verde urbano que vise criar uma relação, física e social, entre as faculdades e equipamentos que o constituem.
ABSTRACT: The present work is developed on the territory of Alto da Ajuda, namely of the University Campus of Ajuda, between an urban area, densified by the social neighborhoods, adjacent to Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, and a natural area, starring Tapada da Ajuda and Monsanto Forest Park. The territory covered has temporarily suffered successive uncontrolled and unorganized expansions, leading to various discontinuities and urban deficiencies. The insertion of the University Campus, in order to house a group of faculties, and thus to stimulate a dignified and charismatic space, came to reflect and accentuate the precarious situation of that part of the city, largely due to its unfinished plans and, later, adulterated, creating a careless and unattractive image. Situation, later accentuated by constructions of an introspective character, which, by configuring a physical and visual barrier under the natural space of Monsanto, contribute to an urban segregation, translating into an area without relations and continuities, both with its urban and natural surroundings, as in their university space. This work focuses on the themes of a new urban design, which assumes a new paradigm, sustainability, where the ecological aspect assumes more relevance. In this context, the present work seeks to expose the need to configure the area of the University Campus, creating a relationship with its urban and natural surroundings, namely the city and the Monsanto Natural Park, respectively. This intention materializes through the renaturalization of the public space between the faculties of the Pole, which translates into the proposal of an urban green space that aims to create a physical and social relationship between the faculties and equipment that constitute it.

O programa, iniciado no ano de 2007 e encerrado no ano de 2012, torna-se um tema bastante discutido e avaliado por muitos pesquisadores, isso porque seu objetivo geral de elevar as matrÃculas promoveu alteraÃÃes acadÃmicas e estruturais. Visando aprofundar essas alteraÃÃes, a bibliogrÃfica escolhida, os documentos institucionais e questionÃrios fundamentaram e promoveram resultados alÃm do esperado. Para complementar a pesquisa, tambÃm foi feito levantamento histÃrico, social e econÃmico da cidade de Pinheiro. O estudo permitiu verificar que à atravÃs da adesÃo ao REUNI que o Campus de Pinheiro retoma as atividades acadÃmicas atravÃs do oferecimento de cursos regulares, assim como, promove um intercÃmbio de culturas, devido à quantidade de servidores e discentes oriundos de outras regiÃes. Estes passam a residir no municÃpio de Pinheiro a partir de sua aprovaÃÃo em concurso pÃblico ou no caso dos estudantes, pelo Exame Nacional do Ensino MÃdio. Essa caracterÃstica do pluriculturalismo favorece as aÃÃes sociais e educativas coordenadas a partir de Projetos de ExtensÃo para o atendimento de deficiÃncias locais. A pesquisa buscou compreender de que forma os projetos de extensÃo estÃo sendo planejados e executados. Por fim, pode-se identificar diferenÃas nas propostas extensionistas desenvolvidas antes do REUNI e pÃs REUNI.
This dissertation, through the in-depth evaluation methodology, has the objective of analyzing the Support Program for Restructuring and Expansion Plans of the Federal Universities (REUNI) at the Federal University of MaranhÃo at Campus Pinheiro. The program, which began in 2007 and ends in the year 2012, becomes a topic that is much discussed and evaluated by many researchers, because its general objective of increasing enrollments has promoted academic and structural changes. In order to deepen these changes, the bibliography chosen, the institutional documents and questionnaires based and promoted results beyond what was expected. To complement the research, was also made historical, social and economic survey of the city of Pinheiro. The study showed that it is through the adhesion to REUNI that the Pinheiro Campus resumes academic activities through the provision of regular courses, as well as, it promotes an exchange of cultures due to the number of servers and students coming from other regions. These students now reside in the municipality of Pinheiro, following their approval in public competition or in the case of students, by the National High School Examination. This characteristic of pluriculturalism favors coordinated social and educational actions based on Extension Projects to address local handicaps. The research sought to understand how extension projects are being planned and executed. Finally, it is possible to identify differences in the extensionist proposals developed before REUNI and after REUNI.

Повний текст джерелаThis study is based on the assumption that qualitative attributes of pedestrians\' pathways have a direct impact on the accessibility levels of the site in which these paths form a network. Starting from this hypothesis, the main aim of this research was to incorporate qualitative measures in the configuration of a network of pedestrians\' pathways that form an accessibility model, in order to evaluate the impact of the proposed changes on the model outcomes. An existing GIS-based multicriteria accessibility model was taken as a reference for the proposed changes, which were tested in a case study developed at the main campus of the Federal University of Sergipe, Brazil. The study involved the following procedures: data collection; calculation of the accessibility values with the original model; insertion of qualitative attributes in the model network and calculation of the accessibility values after the changes; comparison of the results obtained with the two models; and evaluation of relative accessibility levels. Relative accessibility values were obtained from a comparison between the results found for users with mobility constraints and the results found for users without mobility constraints. The results confirmed that the qualitative measures of pedestrians pathways do affect the accessibility values, if compared to the values calculated with the model that considers only the distances between origins and destinations as impedances. Furthermore, the combination of walking speeds and spatial distribution of the key-destinations has produced low accessibility levels in the network nodes that are not close to the campus central area, even though they belong to links well classified in the quality assessment conducted for the case study. Also, the group of visually-impaired users had the worst accessibility conditions of all groups considered. This somehow contradicts the general assumption that wheelchair users constitute the group most affected by low accessibility conditions. This result is, however, a direct consequence of the flat topography of the campus. If no artificial barriers are created, the site is not, at least in principle, unfavorable to wheelchair displacements.

This paper aims at demonstrating how the UFPA Interiorization Policy is evaluated by former students of the teaching degree courses offered in the Cameta/PA Campus through their own insertion in the local teaching system, having as perspective the repercussions provided by this municipal policy. For this study we have elected as subjects former students from 1991 to 2004, Bachelors of Art in Education, History, Geography, Mathematics and Bachelors of Arts in Language Teaching. The procedures observed in the making of this study demonstrate, through the case study, the effort of an empiric task, based on the gathering of diversified sources concerning former students and the Interiorization in a Campus as singular as Cametá s. The choice of the qualitative approach and the historical-dialectical procedure helped understand the meaning of the implemented policy. To pursue the methodological path in the search of information, techniques and tools for the data gathering were elected, with the objective of best verifying the evidence found. In order to do so, we appealed to the bibliographical research, documental research, and in the field work a questionnaire was applied in a universe of 373 former students; obtaining the feedback of 113, outnumbering in 30% the intended sample. The questions in the previously mentioned instrument were deepened through interviews with other 5 former students. Having as an objective to know the history of the Cametá Campus and its repercussions in the county as well as the autonomy process we interviewed: 1 principal of the Association of the Rural Workers, the president of the Fisherman s Colony, 1 representative of the Commerce Management Association, the current and former Secretary of Education of the county, the current and former Dean of UFPA, combining into a total of 12 interviewees. This study will be structured in three moments. Initially, we discussed the Interiorization from the point of view of the relationship between the State and civil society in the scope of the public policies; for that we appealed to a theoretical analysis sustained in Antonio Gramsci, and analyzed the category of former students and university autonomy. Next, it is presented the Tocantins campus in action in the context of the local and global policy of its 21 years of history. The third moment answered to three different objectives. Initially we present a reflection on the importance of former students in the evaluation processes, based on a dialogical and participative conception. The second moment, of a predominantly empiric trait, consists in the presentation of the study results with the former students. In the last section, the opinion of the representative of the Civil Society and the Public Power about the repercussions of the UFPA interiorization policy in Cametá is stated. In the final comments a contribution to the former students personal and professional life is presented, in addition to an indication that the autonomy jeopardized the Cametá Campus, taking it closer to extinction. However, that does not stop us from stating that the interiorization of UFPA in Cametá is a public policy of social inclusion of the rural population. The innovation of the work lies in the creation of an evaluation methodology that can be developed in other Campuses and universities of the region at reduced cost for the State in its implementation. The policy was assessed as satisfactory by having produced significant changes in the education in the county
Este trabalho objetiva demonstrar como a política de Interiorização da UFPA é avaliada pelos egressos dos cursos de Licenciaturas Plenas ofertadas no Campus de Cametá/PA a partir da inserção dos mesmos na rede de ensino local, tendo como perspectivas as repercussões proporcionadas por essa política no município. Para este estudo elegeu-se, como sujeitos, os egressos do período de 1991 a 2004, das Licenciaturas Plenas em Pedagogia, História, Geografia, Matemática e Letras. Os procedimentos na elaboração desta pesquisa apresentam, pelo estudo de caso, o esforço de um trabalho empírico, firmado na coleta de fontes diversificadas referentes aos egressos e à interiorização em um Campus singular como o de Cametá. A opção pela abordagem qualitativa e pela modalidade histórico-dialética ajudou a compreender o significado da Política implementada. Para trilhar o caminho metodológico em busca das informações, elegeram-se as técnicas e os instrumentos para a coleta de dados, no intuito de melhor verificar as evidências levantadas. Para tanto, recorreu-se a pesquisa bibliográfica, documental, e no trabalho de campo foi aplicado o questionário em um universo de 373 egressos, obtendo-se o retorno de 113, ultrapassando a amostra pretendida de 30%. As questões do referido instrumento foram aprofundadas com entrevistas com mais 5 egressos. Objetivando conhecer a história do Campus da UFPA em Cametá e suas repercussões no município, assim como também o processo de autonomia, foram entrevistados 1 diretor do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais, o presidente da Colônia de Pescadores, 1representante do Clube de Diretores Lojistas, o secretário de educação do município da gestão atual e anterior, o ex-reitor e o atual, totalizando 12 entrevistados. Este estudo está estruturado em três momentos. Inicialmente, discutiu-se a interiorização a partir da relação entre o Estado e a sociedade civil no âmbito das políticas públicas, para isso recorreu-se a uma análise teórica sustentada em Antonio Gramsci, e analisou-se as categorias egressos e autonomia universitária. Em seguida, é apresentado o Campus do Tocantins em ação no contexto da política local e global nestes 21 anos de sua história. O terceiro momento respondeu a três objetivos. Inicialmente, apresenta-se uma reflexão sobre a importância dos egressos em processos avaliativos, partindo de uma concepção dialógica e participativa. O segundo momento, de feição predominantemente empírica, consiste na apresentação dos resultados da pesquisa com os egressos. Na última seção, a opinião de representantes da Sociedade Civil e do Poder Público sobre as repercussões da política de interiorização da UFPA em Cametá. Na conclusão é apresentada a contribuição dos cursos para a vida profissional e pessoal dos egressos, além de indicar que a autonomia prejudicou o Campus de Cametá, levando-o a quase extinção, o que não impede de dizer que a interiorização da UFPA em Cametá é uma política pública de inclusão social da população rural. A inovação do trabalho reside na criação de uma metodologia de avaliação que pode ser desenvolvida em outros Campi e universidades da região a custo reduzido para o Estado na sua implementação. A política foi avaliada como satisfatória ao imprimir significativas mudanças na educação do município

Повний текст джерелаSustainable water management is needed to ensure quality supplies of our vital water resources in the face of growing human demand for water, high levels of pollution, and increasing spatial and temporal variability associated with climate change. An integrated approach to water management is recommended to address current water challenges, which are often interrelated with other environmental, economic and social issues. Universities and colleges have missions, resources, and contexts that could enable them to lead the process of developing and applying sustainable and integrated water resource management (IWRM). The opportunity to exemplify integrated water management has grown as institutions of higher education have made progress towards incorporating environmental sustainability into teaching, research, and campus operations. This dissertation examines the issue of campus water management at institutions of higher education through a review of campus sustainability literature, a survey of sustainability and facilities managers, and case studies of three campus water-related projects.
Findings from the review of campus sustainability literature and websites suggests water is less of a campus management priority than issues such as energy and climate change; furthermore, where water is addressed, the focus is on water conservation, while water quality management is overlooked. IWRM is not explicitly discussed in the campus sustainability literature reviewed, though principles relevant to IWRM are included in some campus sustainability declarations and programs. Results from the survey substantiate the findings from literature review that water management is less of an institutional priority than energy management and water quality management is often underemphasized in campus management. According to the survey respondents, campus water management at the institutions represented was on average just adequately managed and institutions were minimally prepared to deal with several types of future water problems. Facilities managers tended to rate their institution's water management as slightly more effective compared to sustainability coordinators. Many campuses relied on top-down, engineering based water management approaches, rather than integrated and interdisciplinary water management. Individual initiatives, municipal codes and policies, campus community sustainability awareness, and campus environmental projects served as drivers for more sustainable water management, while budget constrains were a common barrier. Logistic regression analysis of the survey data revealed that institutions featuring stream and wetland restoration projects had greater odds of being described as having a developed watershed plan and taking into consideration multidisciplinary approaches to water management.
Case studies showed that wetland creation and restoration projects can serve as effective teaching and research laboratories for institutions of higher education, but that none of the studied cases fully exemplified IWRM in their operation. Of the three cases studied, the Stream and Wetland Assessment Management Park project at Duke University most closely demonstrated a campus project designed and developed to address water problems in the campus watershed, while also offering an effective outdoor teaching and research laboratory for hundreds of students, professionals, and researchers. The Olentangy River Wetland Research Park case at Ohio State University exemplified the potential for wetland creation and restoration projects to serve as a facility for educating thousands of students and visitors, training dozens of water experts, and influencing wetland and water resource management beyond the campus. The Radford University Stormwater Treatment Wetland Project case illustrated the potential for institutions with limited space and resources to establish effective outdoor teaching laboratories using environmental features already present or in development on campus.
Findings from the review, survey and case studies all point toward the need and opportunity for institutions of higher education to make greater efforts at implementing and promoting sustainable and integrated water resource management. Literature review and survey findings reveal that water is frequently overlooked as environmental resource at universities and colleges, while other environmental issues such as energy, climate change and recycling are prioritized in sustainability plans and efforts. Universities and colleges have made progress addressing water conservation, while water quality and stormwater need further attention and an integrated approach for more effective management.

In recent years, conception of sustainable development and contemplation of environmental ethics have brought up notice of ecological and educational issues of campus planning. Fostering ecological campus, green school, and sustainable campus has become the significant policy and task. Because of measuring executing results of plans and projects related to sustainable development in campus surroundings. Constructing the indicators of evaluating condition and quality of environmental ecology becomes prioritizing consideration. Otherwise, due to the boom of domestic higher education, the scale of university campus has increased growing into vital landscape resources of urban environment and essential pieces of developing biodiversity in urban area. Consequently, if the ideas of ecological planning could exactly execute and reflect on university campus, there will come out certain benefits to maintain the stability of the whole urban ecosystem. Therefore, the research targets campus environment of the university. After researching potentialities and limitations of composing environment of Biodiversity, these data can assist to build the ecological evaluation Indicator system so that the research has the basement to do an empirical Study. By using workflow of constructing index and relative research method, the research builds an evaluation indicator system, consisting of three layers. The target layer is “Improving ecological servicing function of nature environment of university campus”. The first layer includes “reservation of the environment resources“, “protection of the ecological basement“, “construction of the ecological network“, and “maintaining harmony of the surroundings“. The second layer includes “water retention capacity“, “plant species diversity “, “area “, “land use pattern of surroundings “, and so forth. (Totally 20 items) According to evaluating results of the empirical study, the level of achievement on four aspects in Tunghai University in order are “reservation of the environment resources“, “protection of the ecological basement“, “construction of the ecological network“, and “maintaining harmony of the surroundings“. In addition, reflecting each comprehensive weighted level of achievement on the target, the level of achievement approaches to 70%. The result explains that Tunghai University makes some influences on improving and sustaining quality of service in ecosystem. The result also points out potentialities and limitations on constructing environment wit biodiversity of the study site. Aspects of potentiality are: (1) having functions of becoming habitats, source and sink. (2) the significant part of constructing urban ecological network. Aspects of limitation and improvement are: (1) vegetation lacks technique of ecologicl green construction. (2) lack of hydrological habitats. (3) emergency of developing artificial facilities. (4) land use of adjacent surroundings is mainly residential areas and industrial zones, in addition, completed area of development is gradually expanding. By operating empirical study and discussing related results from evaluations, the research can further confirm possibility of the indicator system. The result of research indicates the main points of improving are: (1) reducing the difficulty of writing questionnaires and rate of abandoned questionnaires. (2) avoiding subjective judgments of dividing evaluation criteria and evaluating method. Moreover, suggestions are: (1) integrating indices, such as educational, humanistic, social, and economic aspects, to strength completeness and preciseness of indices. (2) enlarging application of ANP to campus’s decision making related to projects of construction.
