Human mental life is a form of existence of information not only electromagnetic, but also acoustic, spin, soliton and bioplasm. That is, the layout the biological human in addition to the biochemical way uses the message of information using energy and information converters in living cells. The human biological system creates the pictorial structure of the world not only through sensory perception, but also on the basis of soliton, spin and bioplasm waves. The action of solitons in the biological system of man gives the basis for seeing the psychobiological structures of man in a different light, as presented in biology, medicine and psychology. The science to date recognizes only the action of an electromagnetic wave on the sense of sight. It can be concluded that we are dealing with a second center that creates the structure of the world image and is responsible for health and the development of diseases in humans. According to the authors, consciousness cooperates with the cosmos and is guided by the laws of quantum mechanics. Under its law, there is room for artificial consciousness. In their deliberations, the authors will understand that it is a dynamic structure of quantum-cybernetic-information team processes taking place in the bioplasm of the brain, which is in synergistic interaction with biocomputer simulation, guided by the emission of coherent light, modulated by a soliton wave.

Abstract: The use of information technology cannot be escaped from everyday life in society. In the context of improving the public sector, the government is required to improve performance, responsibility, and public trust and focus more on providing better services by revitalizing public administration by increasing transparency and prioritizing service quality. The Bureau of Personnel uses the “SIMPEG” application in the form of digitizing the public sector which is considered an extraordinary opportunity to create public value. This research is focused on the approach of the SIMPEG pre and post-mobile SSO. The method adopted by this study was mixed methods. The implementation of SIMPEG mobile SSO at the Ministry of Home Affairs has fulfilled the three aspects of the public values ​​stated by Moore, namely legitimacy and support, operational capabilities, and public value. However, based on the findings within the field, some things are still not appropriate. For example, there is still the use of paper-based administration, so that the mobile SSO service has not been optimized. Based on the dimensions of system quality, information quality, and service quality, SIMPEG based on web-based are categorized as quite sustainable, whereas after using SIMPEG mobile SSO application was classified as very sustainable. When viewed from the results of stress and RSQ values, it can be said that the results of the MDS in this study describe a good model and can represent the problems being discussed and conclude that only SIMPEG mobile SSO application is recommended for sustainability.

This paper appraises the criticism that "Knowledge Management (KM) is little more than re-packaged Information Management (IM)" through analysis of the relationships and inconsistencies between IM and KM. This is supported by a case study of the loss of an UK Royal Air Force aircraft known as 'Nimrod' as reported in the Haddon-Cave Independent Review. The first part discusses the research methodology adopted and analyses the literature including the theoretical characteristics and practical aspects of IM and KM. This is supported by logical models and relationship tables for comparison. The second part develops an analytical framework by applying evaluation criteria, based on principles for Through Life Management of information, to a case study to address the statement that "information is inadequate without knowledge." The logical models and case study insertions uncovered important conclusions: (1) KM is frequently confused with IM and reliance on IM only can sometimes result in a disaster; (2) it is imperative to understand the distinctions between IM and KM as "management of knowledge" is concerned with socio-technical, hence human, aspects to a greater extent than IM; (3) IM should be considered as a prerequisite to engaging KM; and (4) KM should be perceived as the creation and management of knowledge as a human centred attribute that involves a learning and transformation process. This paper systematically applies the derived logical models and analysis framework to a case study to better understand and illustrate the implications of Through Life Management of information and knowledge.

Learning curves are used extensively in business, science, technology, engineering, and industry to predict system performance over time. Although most of the early development and applications were in the area of production engineering, contemporary applications can be found in all areas of applications. Information technology project management, in particular, offers a fertile area for the application of learning curves. This paper applies the concept of half-life of learning curves to information technology project management. This is useful for predictive measures of information technology system performance. Half-life is the amount of time it takes for a quantity to diminish to half of its original size through natural processes. The approach of half-life computation provides an additional decision tool for researchers and practitioners in information technology management. Derivation of the half-life equations of learning curves can reveal more about the properties of the various curves with respect to the unique life-cycle property of information technology.

One of the challenges facing organizations today is how to properly manage sustainability. This situation is highly complex as the amount of information relating to projects to be managed increases considerably. Therefore, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems can be the solution for reducing the complexity of this information management, since they connect the different stakeholders of the product life cycle, allowing them to access information from all stages of the project life cycle. However, there are still no tools that manage sustainability in a efficient way. That is why it is proposed an innovative tool, ARTIST, which allows organizations to know the current state of sustainability of the organization, as well as the situation associated with all stakeholders who interact in the project, while enabling the options to study the margins for improvement in the area of sustainability from the perspective of integrating the Triple E. It is a proposal for an agile, robust, flexible and adaptable tool for all organizations developed in the field of industry 4.0 and interconnected management systems following objective 12 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) where work is done so that organizations adopt sustainable practices and incorporate information on sustainability in their life cycle. During times of disaster, local government departments and divisions need to communicate a broad range of information for disaster management to share the understating of the changing situation. This paper addresses the issues of how to effectively use a computer database system to communicate disaster management information and how to apply natural language processing technology to reduce the human labor for databasing a vast amount of information. The database schema was designed based on analyzing a collection of real-life disaster management information and the specifications of existing standardized systems. Our data analysis reveals that our database schema sufficiently covers the information exchanged in a local government during the Great East Earthquake. Our prototype system is designed so as to allow local governments to introduce it at a low cost: (i) the system’s user interface facilitates the operations for databasing given information, (ii) the system can be easily customized to each local municipality by simply replacing the dictionary and the sample data for training the system, and (iii) the system can be automatically adapted to each local municipality or each disaster incident through its capability of automatic learning from the user’s corrections to the system’s language processing outputs.

Building Information Modeling begins to be perceived as the concept of "covering all stages of the life cycle of a building". A major flaw in this view is the fact that BIM is not actually perceived by all stakeholders as identical, and there is no single vocabulary, either in the form of a structured lexicon or in purely semantic understanding of many names and concepts used. Based on research findings BIM’s focus on Building Information Management has proven to be a key part of BIM’s success. As a result, it seeks to design a knowledge management system throughout the whole life cycle of the building as well as in the management of knowledge through partial projects. An essential part of BIM framework has identified the need to visualize knowledge and information. Based on other literature searches, ways of identifying knowledge, by deriving knowledge from information from experts, using shared models, are proposed. This derivation is directly driven by ontological identification and knowledge models based on taxonomy have been proposed. It leads to proposal of intelligent environment for team collaboration on projects or programs that probably require a suitable mix of different technology tools.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the processes, tools and techniques of strategic asset information management (AIM) for built assets, and how the asset information content enhances the proficiency of asset managers to effectively manage their assets throughout their life cycle by utilising building information modelling (BIM) and asset management (AM) systems. For most asset managers, the problem is not the lack of information about their assets, but the abundance of it, and most especially the absence of established processes and protocols to effectively manage large sets of asset data. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a strategy to control and manage this information in order for asset managers to harness its potential and realise value from their organisation’s information assets.. Design/methodology/approach A qualitative case study strategy was used to investigate the effective management of asset data in an AIM system. Seven sets of interviews were conducted and nine respondents were interviewed. These were analysed through qualitative thematic analysis using the NVivo software. Findings The paper identifies six dimensions of value that BIM contributes to AM, which are: management, commerce, efficiency, industry, user and technology value. Also, the paper demonstrates that there is real value to be derived by the asset owner from the effective management of asset information. The study highlights that the value of BIM is not inherent but would require many other processes to deliver value to the organisation. Originality/value The key value of the paper is that it identifies important techniques for managing asset data and how asset information is collected, organised, stored, controlled, analysed, secured, shared and reported within a virtual AIM system for strategic management-based decisions.

Connectivity is key in this new era of smart infrastructure. Smart airports utilize new connected technologies to improve end-user experience while ensuring operational feasibility in aeronautical and non-aeronautical segments. The increasing need for digitizing the design-build-operate life cycles of airports can be met by implementing building information modeling (BIM) that enables accessing, managing, utilizing, and connecting physical and operational data in a digital collaborative environment. This study investigates the current state of practice in airport BIM (ABIM) and the use of ABIM processes in digital airport operations and maintenance by connecting existing data sources and integrating smart airport systems. The study proposes a comprehensive and adaptive ABIM management framework that depicts the alignment and connectivity of ABIM processes, resources and stakeholders with airport operational requirements by identifying gaps in the industry and literature, and developing a global understanding in ABIM visions. Research data are collected through literature and industry review, online surveys, and semi-structured interviews with aviation professionals. Mixed methods including non-parametric statistical analysis and qualitative analysis are used to determine the elements of the framework. Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) principles and language are used to generate the framework. For framework validation, a proof of concept (POC) is conducted by development and deployment of a web-based application. The developed ABIM framework is expected to guide major airport stakeholders in their BIM implementation processes to enhance airport operational efficiencies and in strategizing digital initiatives on a connected-BIM platform.

Purpose Building information modelling (BIM) provides a robust platform for information management in built environment facilities. However, one of the consequences of the limited application of BIM in facilities information management (FIM) is that the potential value gain through the integration of as-built information during the operations management process has had limited exploration in current practice. The purpose of this paper is to explore the potential impact of BIM to enhance the value of FIM. Design/methodology/approach A detailed literature review was undertaken to identify BIM application in a construction context, and to develop a framework to investigate the value of information. An interpretative approach was adopted for data collection and analysis. A total of 14 semi-structured interviews were conducted with construction industry professionals to identify how value of FIM can be enhanced through BIM integration. The interview data were analysed using open and selective coding. Findings The findings confirm that information exchange between the construction and facilities management (FM) phases of a project are important in terms of efficient and effective maintenance of a facility as well as optimising the design task. With these promising benefits, BIM is an efficient mechanism to facilitate construction information exchange. However, there is an uncertainty over the optimum level of information that ought to be on a BIM model for FM purposes. The relationship between different aspects of value is a starting point to filter the required information for each individual project. In contrast, limited awareness of value of information exchange and the potential of BIM enabled FIM during construction is noted. Research limitations/implications The information exchange considered within this investigation was limited to two key phases of the facility life cycle, namely, construction and FM (in-use). Practical implications The findings bring insight into an unseen aspect of FM information needs that should be given priority in upcoming BIM developments. Also, it draws attention to how value is concerned in a daily basis beyond monetary terms. Originality/value The investigation of value enhancement through BIM integration in particular to FIM and ongoing research with new value dimensions.

PurposeUsing a case study method, the article investigates the impact New Public Management (NPM), through outsourcing has had on the management of government information at the Swedish Transport Agency. In April 2015 the Agency outsourced its IT-operations to IBM company. Some of the IBM sub-contractors had not been cleared by the Swedish Security Service. This exposed the Agency’s information to risk. By outsourcing the IT operations, the General Director of the Agency deviated from the laws governing government information such as the Swedish Security Protection Act, the Personal Data Act and the Publicity and Secrecy Act.Design/methodology/approachThe researcher has applied a case study method as the investigation focuses on a phenomenon in a real-life setting. The case study method entails the use of past studies, which facilitates the exploration and understanding of a complex issue. The phenomenon under investigation is NPM’s impact, through outsourcing, on the management of public information at the Swedish Transportation Agency.FindingsOutsourcing should be foregone by well-formulated contracts that should put into consideration the management of government information and the involvement of all stakeholders such as records managers/archivists, IT personnel, heads of departments, lawyers and business analysts. Outsourcing risks to compromise the two tenets of democracy that is, accountability and transparency which are central to Swedish public administrations’ operations.Research limitations/implicationsThe study is limited by the fact that it only presents the views of the archivists. This was, however, purposely done because their voice was missing during the discussions that followed after the data breach scandal had become public knowledge. Additionally, archivists are supposed to play a major role in the management of government information at Swedish institutions. Further research that will involve different categories of employees might give a deeper and better understanding of the impact that NPM, through outsourcing, is having on the management of government information and what implications this might have on issues of trust, transparency and accountability.Practical implicationsThe study demonstrates the need for well-formulated outsourcing contracts that will include information management clauses. It is of crucial importance in a democratic society that access to government information is not compromised as institutions endeavor to achieve efficiency and high-quality service delivery.Social implicationsIt is government information that gives citizens knowledge about the various processes of government institutions. It is therefore of paramount importance that government information is not left in the hands of unauthorized companies that are involved in the outsourcing activity but should be securely managed and guarded, as the opposite might pose privacy and national security challenges and hence undermine the trust that citizens have in government institutions.Originality/valueThe search that the author conducted confirmed paucity in research that discusses issues related to NPM, outsourcing and the management of government information. This paper is therefore a contribution to the discourse from an archives and information management perspective.

The alignment of Business and IT is still an important concern of IT managers. Alignment, as most others organization challenges, is essentially promoted by people. So, adequate people´s incentives should be accordingly designed with that purpose in mind. A framework that enhances alignment through an incentive policy is proposed, relating incentive initiatives with alignment criteria. Framework uses Luftman instrument, where its dimensions represents alignment opportunities that should be explored. The used incentive instrument is based on the WorldatWork model. An incentive policy should consider five areas; compensation, benefits, work-life, performance/recognition and development/career opportunities. Strategic alignment dimension is composed by six areas; communications, competency/value measurements, governance, partnership, technological scope and skills. The framework supports the definition of an incentive policy enhancing general and specific alignment dimensions. Theorization about some possible direct relations between the dimensions of an incentive policy and alignment is made, helping the incentive policy definition.

Tasks and business entities are the major constituents of business processes but they are not always considered equally important. The activity-centric approach and the artifact-oriented one have radically different visions. The former focuses on the control flow, i.e., on the representation of the precedence constraints between tasks, and considers the dataflow an add-on. The latter emphasizes the states of the business entities and defines the transitions between states in a declarative way that makes it difficult to figure out what the control flow is. This paper presents the ELBA notation whose purpose is to integrate those different visions by leveraging the dataflow. The dataflow defines the input and output entities of the tasks in process models. Entities flowing through tasks change their states and then a process model results from the combination of the life cycles of the entities managed by the process. Process models are complemented by information models that show the attributes and relationships of the entity types handled by the processes. Life cycles are intertwined in process models but they can be separated by means of an extraction technique that is illustrated in this paper with the help of two examples.

This study investigates the mediating role of life management strategies to see how information processing styles indirectly influence subjective well-being. Participants were 440 university students (female = 202, male = 238) ranging in age from 18 to 50 years from all levels and all majors from universities in Quchan, Iran. In a nonexperimental design and by using path analysis, we found that selection, optimization, and compensation fully mediated the relationship between information processing styles and subjective well-being. Our proposed model fitted well to the data and could account for a significant proportion of variance in satisfaction with life, positive affects, and negative affects’ scores (42%, 51%, and 35%, respectively). These results provide empirical evidence that rational information processing style is a defining factor for planning, and its impact on subjective indicators of well-being operates indirectly and through life management strategies. This model, with a more active approach, has implications for both theory and practice in psychotherapy.

Анотація:
Failure, because of the important role in the product life cycle for improving product design and manufacturing, is becoming important data information and being taken seriously. High-speed trains are complex electromechanical integration systems, and its failure occurred in operation may directly relate to people's life and property safety. FRACAS is a reliability engineering method, which allows the product fault information to follow Discovering, Report, Analysis,Correct andConfirm closed-loop management process, provides data and information to support effectively for improving the reliability of the train. This paper analyzed the fault information management needs of high-speed trains, combines high-speed trains product structure tree and fault model base to generate a high-speed train fault information database, by customizing and developing Relex FRACAS software. Then high-speed trains (CRH3) closed-loop management system is established. High-speed train FRACAS can easily build enterprise information platform for product reliability. Through the establishment of a unified failures database and solutions knowledge base, standardized information transferring and sharing are achieved. The train products faults can be timely reported and corrected. The accumulated data of troubleshooting in the whole process can be used in the failure statistical analysis and reliability prediction, which can effectively avoid major failures and repeated failures.

Facility management platforms are widely used in the facility maintenance phase of the building life cycle. However, a large amount of complex building information affects facility managers’ efficiency and user experience in retrieving specific information on the facility management platform. Therefore, this research aims to develop a conversation-based method to improve the efficiency and user experience of facility management information delivery. The proposed method contains four major modules: decision mechanism, equipment dataset, intent analysis, and knowledge base. A chatbot prototype was developed based on the proposed method. The prototype was then validated through a feasibility test and field test at the Shulin Arts Comprehensive Administration Building in Taiwan. The results showed that the proposed method changes the traditional information delivery between users and the facility management platform. By integrating natural language processing (NLP), building information modelling (BIM), and ontological techniques, the proposed method can increase the efficiency of FM information retrieval.

In modern societies, the rampant growth of the Internet, both on the technological and social level, has created fertile ground for the emergence of new types of risk. On top of that, it enhances pre-existing threats by offering new means for accessing and exploiting Critical Infrastructures. As the kinds of potential threats evolve, the security, safety and resilience of these infrastructures must be updated accordingly, both at a prevention, as well as a real-time confrontation level. Our research approaches the security of these infrastructures with a focus on the data and utilization of every possible piece of information that derives from this ecosystem. Such a task is quite daunting, since the quantity of data that requires processing resides in the Big Dataspace. To address this, we introduce a new well-defined Information Life Cycle in order to properly model and optimise the way information flows through a modern security system. This life cycle covers all the possible stages, starting from the collection phase up until the exploitation of information intelligence. That ensures the efficiency of data processing and filtering while increasing both the veracity and validity of the final outcome. In addition, an agile Framework is introduced that is optimised to take full advantage of the Information Life Cycle. As a result, it exploits the generated knowledge taking the correct sequence of actions that will successfully address possible threats. This Framework leverages every possible data source that could provide vital information to Critical Infrastructures by performing analysis and data fusion being able to cope with data variety and variability. At the same time, it orchestrates the pre-existing processes and resources of these infrastructures. Through rigorous testing, it was found that response time against hazards was dramatically decreased. As a result, this Framework is an ideal candidate for strengthening and shielding the infrastructures’ resilience while improving management of the resources used.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to define the gender aspects regarded as relevant in a woman’s career, as well as the situations or elements, which are narrated, as an experience of success or failure in their professional development.Design/methodology/approachThrough an approach similar to life stories and a longitudinal phenomenological perspective analysis, the author identifies the experiences and feelings of nine women who, in 1998, occupied mid-level positions.FindingsThe stories offer a reading of the trajectory at three different levels: the working environment, the experience undergone and the principles of action developed through their careers. These stories show and demonstrate that gender and subjectivity are intertwined, enacted upon and reproduced in the workplace.Research limitations/implicationsDespite having collected information on two occasions, allowing us to reconstruct their paths and isolate the gender issues from this set, this is not a purely longitudinal research as it includes a longitudinal phenomenological perspective.Originality/valueThe stories have helped to weave the experiences and feelings of more than a decade of professional development and have shown how subjectivity is committed to a world of prescriptions and proscriptions that confers differences applicable to both sexes, where being a woman explains some of the ways in which female roles are understood and interpreted in relation to themselves and their environment.

AbstractTraceability of information provides the basis for assessing the credibility of engineering information, better understanding it, and making judgments about the appropriateness of its use for a particular design task. The presented research attempts to answer how the proposed traceability methodology and framework could help designers to improve communication, eventually create new channels of communication, and contribute to the creation of shared understanding in collaborative design processes. The discussion of these issues is based on a literature review, empirical research, observations of industrial practice, and feedback from initial implementation. The research is focused on information objects (IOs), archetypically represented in the engineering domain as technical documents that are often complex structures constituted of textual, numerical, and graphical fragments. The presented approach is based on an abstraction of IOs' relationships organized around specific contexts that are defined by a subset of product development ontology. Each IO could be repeatedly represented in various contexts that may contain different subsets of objects and their relationships. Such a representation also acts as a container in which the ontology concept instances are associated with IOs being developed and traced during the design episode. The usage of the proposed traceability methodology is discussed with examples of implementation and possible utilization situations. The paper is focused on explaining how the developed functionalities could help to resolve manifestations of inadequate information flow, which cause communication barriers in engineering companies. In addition, the proposed traceability methodology offers the possibility to record the detailed history of actions and events associated with IOs in the usage process of the product life cycle management systems. Based on the research findings, this paper argues that such a network of the traceability links and relationships may be viewed as a novel design communication channel.

Through the sensors, the farmer receives detailed data on the condition of the products he cultivates and furthermore the consumer is informed about the origin and the process of producing the products they will consume. The use of such systems not only enhances food safety and product competitiveness but also makes farms more efficient and effective. Moreover, the information gathered from these systems can also be used by policy makers to carry out actions related to subsidies and to combat informality.

In the process of scientific research, communication is essential. The insertion of Information and Communication Technologies have modified the profile of the researchers and the daily life of their researches. In response to these changes, this article proposes the adoption at scientific events of the video poster, replacing the poster on paper or canvas. The objective is to propose a model of Management of Open Scientific Information of Video in Events, as a means of scientific communication. This research was developed based on the literature review of models of this type of management, the information collected in interviews with the managers of the events that used the video poster as a strategy of scientific communication, and the data collected through a survey, sent to event participants. The results, after treatment of the data and confrontation of the ideas of the managers with the opinions of the participants, point out that the video poster has the potential to prolong and even perpetuate the products of scientific communication in events and to promote the scientific divulgations, besides the possibility of reuse, as an educational resource. As result of the research, the proposal of an open scientific information management model for the use of event managers is presented.

The construction sector is in continuous evolution due to the digitalisation and integration into daily activities of the building information modelling approach and methods that impact on the overall life cycle. This study investigates the topic of BIM/GIS integration with the adoption of ontologies and metamodels, providing a critical analysis of the existing literature. Ontologies and metamodels share several similarities and could be combined for potential solutions to address BIM/GIS integration for complex tasks, such as asset management, where heterogeneous sources of data are involved. The research adopts a systematic literature review (SLR), providing a formal approach to retrieve scientific papers from dedicated online databases. The results found are then analysed, in order to describe the state of the art and suggest future research paths, which is useful for both researchers and practitioners. From the SLR, it emerged that several studies address ontologies as a promising way to overcome the semantic barriers of the BIM/GIS integration. On the other hand, metamodels (and MDE and MDA approaches, in general) are rarely found in relation to the integration topic. Moreover, the joint application of ontologies and metamodels for BIM/GIS applications is an unexplored field. The novelty of this work is the proposal of the joint application of ontologies and metamodels to perform BIM/GIS integration, for the development of software and systems for asset management.

The use of environmental DNA (eDNA) for studying the ecology and variability of life in the sea is reviewed here in the context of US interagency Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON) projects. Much of the information in this paper comes from samples collected within US National Marine Sanctuaries. The field of eDNA is relatively new but growing rapidly, and it has the potential to disrupt current paradigms developed on the basis of existing measurement methods. After a general review of the field, we provide specific examples of the type of information that eDNA provides regarding the changing distribution of life in the sea over space (horizontally and vertically) and time. We conclude that eDNA analyses yield results that are similar to those collected using traditional observation methods, are complementary to them, and because of the breadth of information provided, have the potential to improve conservation and management practices. Moreover, through technology development and standardization of methods, eDNA offers a means to scale biological observations globally to a level similar to those currently made for ocean physics and biogeochemistry. This scaling can ultimately result in a far better understanding of global marine biodiversity and contribute to better management and sustainable use of the world ocean. Improved information management systems that track methods and associated metadata, together with international coordination, will be needed to realize a global eDNA observation network.

The continuous evolution of the agricultural sector justifies the incorporation and adaptation of the latest technologies. Nowadays, managing crops is possible through Internet-based technologies. Their application allows for the exploitation of information and the development of isolated applications, which, although powerful, create challenges for obtaining scalable predictions throughout the useful life of farms. To address this problem, a data model was defined to improve the management of crop plots in irrigation communities and simultaneously monitor crop needs. Consequently, the objective of this study was to create an open and interoperable platform based on standard interfaces and protocols to enable the integration of heterogeneous sources of information, while ensuring interoperability with other third-party solutions for exchanging and exploiting such information. Standard and open interfaces and protocols form the basis of the platform, thereby unifying all information in a single data model, which facilitates the better use and dissemination of information. The system was fully instantiated in a real prototype in an irrigation community; the software improved water irrigation management for the farmers connected to the platform.

Economies of scale can be seen as some kind of “holy grail” in state of the art literature on the development of sets of related software systems. Software product line methods are often mentioned in this context, due to the variability management aspects they propose, in order to deal with sets of related software systems. They realize the sought-after reusability. Both variability management and software product lines already have a strong presence in theoretical research, but in real-life software product line projects trying to obtain economies of scale still tend to fall short of target. The objective of this paper is to study this gap between theory and reality through a case study in order to see why such gap exists, and to find a way to bridge this gap. Through analysis of the causes of failure identified by the stakeholders in the case study, the underlying problem, which is found to be located in the requirements engineering phase, is crystallized. The identification of a framework describing the problems will provide practitioners with a better focus for future endeavors in the field of software product lines, so that economies of scale can be achieved.

In many parts of the world, public sector organizations are increasingly interested in collaborating across organizational (and even national) boundaries to develop software solutions under an open licence. However, without sound lifecycle management practices, the full benefits of open collaboration are not achieved and projects fail to achieve sustained success. This paper introduces a lifecycle management model and framework for government-driven open-source projects and reports about its use in a real-life case study. Our focus is on lifecycle management activities which take place between deployment and end-of-life. The framework was developed iteratively through a series of focus group discussions with representatives of public sector organizations. After the framework had been taken into use in our real-life case project, individual qualitative interviews were conducted to collect experiences on its benefits and weaknesses. According to the initial evidence, the deployment of the framework seems to have brought concrete benefits to the project, e.g. by contributing positively to community growth, software quality and inter-organizational learning.

This paper describes the approaches to analysis in order to optimize the construction facilities (buildings and complexes) information models management. Two criteria have been proposed and discussed for the model quality evaluation: model informational saturation criterion and model topicality criterion. Practical application of the first criterion enables to define the optimal plan of information model filling. Herewith, the optimization is carried out through the maximum volume of useful information. The criterion is used at all stages of the model life cycle during the course of the model data updating. The second criterion allows to evaluate the need in the model data update. Being a vector (in the space of the modelling object significant values) of deviation of the model data from the model object data, the criterion represents the need to initiate the model data updating procedure using the predefined rules

The Information Technology (IT) sector is regarded as strategic for national economy. In Brazil, this sector is formed mostly of micro and small businesses. This article aims at understanding how does the strategic management process occurs in a small IT company, according to the schools of strategy and the strategy-as-practice approach. The method applied was a single case study of a small IT company, located in Rio Grande do Sul. The analyzed data revealed that the company adopts an informal strategic management centered on its directors, which may be related to the entrepreneurial school of strategy. However, data also indicate the presence of features of other schools of strategy along the company trajectory. We analyzed the strategy as social practice at the strategic level and also at the tactical level of the organization, through the guidance of managers, their interactions with customers and suppliers, their decision-making processes, among other practices related to everyday life. The results of the article shed light on the process of strategic management in micro and small IT companies, generating insights that can be useful for managers of similar companies.

Research methodology The information for the case was attained from one-on-one interviews with the main case protagonist, Sabrina (name of all characters in the case and organisations have been changed as per request of the interviewee. However, all the happenings in the case are real). Case overview/synopsis This case deals with the tricky situation faced by Sabrina, an certain employee of an international development organisation, (an institution focussing on aiding development in economically underdeveloped countries), who finds herself in when she inadvertently comes across some negative information about a job candidate currently in the middle of the recruitment process, who, if successful, will become her colleague and work closely with her in future. It has taken months to find this candidate, and if hired should lighten Sabrina’s workload tremendously. The preliminary decision maker in the case is Sabrina, but the ultimate management decision will have to be made by her boss John Nash. The rapidly increasing quantities of waste generated in the cities affect way of human life, environment and planet. Hence, the necessity for smarter, safer, and greener places have never been more urgent. The novel technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) particularly, holds the potential to better manage waste and recycling. The IoT-driven waste management systems positively influence achieving the vision of smart green cities. This article analyzes the role of smart and safe IoT-powered waste management system, highlights its benefits, and possibilities of implementation and evaluation. The paper is on intervention of sensitivity training in Human Relationship Management, this is a powerful interference on self-awareness which gives an insight into all aspects of an individual relationship in their personal life as well as professional life. It is an orientation towards group dynamics process by which organizations educate themselves in order to achieve better problemsolving capabilities through healthier human relationship management. This in turn a significant positive change is achieved in the working cordial human relation between members. In this context, IT Organization (Confidential) categorical nominated their staff of various ranks for sensitivity training programme. The findings of 100 respondents are i) null hypothesis is accepted as p is greater than 0.05 which means that there is no association between gender and interpersonal relationship during the sensitivity training. ii) a) If p value < 0.05, reject null hypothesis. The impact of Sensitivity program on conflict management varies at different age groups and b) If p value > 0.05, accept null hypothesis. Based on the unprecedented development of current information technology, under the prevalence of third-party payment, in order to increase the utilization rate of idle resources and meet the diversified economic needs of today’s era, as an emerging economic model-the “sharing economy”, combined with Internet big data, it has effectively realized the perfect connection between supply and demand, and it has quickly swept through all walks of life. However, while promoting economic development, the lack of regulatory measures and the imperfect credit system have severely restricted the further development of the sharing economy. Blockchain technology (BT), as a new distributed infrastructure and computing method, has always been the core technology of Bitcoin. Based on the development of generalized economic model and BT, this paper analyzes the shortcomings of generalized economic model and blockchain technology through information fusion big data and proposes a kind of information based on information fusion big data+public BT. The security management system adapts to the status quo of the sharing economy and uses the functions of information fusion big data+blockchain technology to solve the current information security risks faced by the sharing economy. The experimental results of this article show that the sharing economy information security management system based on information fusion big data+blockchain technology has good protection capabilities. The interception rate of external information reached 95%, and the interception rate of system information reached 93%. Better protection of privacy leaks is needed.

Building information modelling (BIM) is increasingly appropriate for infrastructure projects, and in particular for transport infrastructure. It is a digital solution that integrates the practices of the construction industry in facility management during the whole life cycle. This integration is possible through a single tool, which is the 3D digital model. Nevertheless, BIM standards, such as industry foundation classes, are still in the pipeline for infrastructure management. These standards do not fully meet the requirements of operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure. This paper shows how BIM could be implemented to address issues related to the operation and maintenance phase for transport infrastructure management. For this purpose, a new ontological approach, called Industry Foundation Classes for Operation and Maintenance of Infrastructures (IFCInfra4OM), is detailed. This ontology aims to standardise the use of building information modelling for operation and maintenance in road infrastructures. To highlight the interest of the proposed ontological approach, a building information model of a section on the A7 Agadir–Marrakech Highway in Morocco is produced according to IFCInfra4OM. The methodology is presented. The results obtained, including the IFCInfra4OM data model, are submitted. In the last section, an overview of the IFC extension approach is submitted.

In recent years, returning farms are attracting attention as a new way of life from urbanites who are about to retire. Returning farming means that the population living in the city leaves the city and continues a new form of life in rural areas. In other words, the fever of returning farming and returning villages is increasing, and the present is called the era of returning farming. As interest in returning farms increases, it is essential to provide accurate information for a successful return to farming life. Therefore, in this paper, a set of returned farmers database was constructed to provide information related to returning farmers with improved reliability and accuracy. To this end, personal characteristic information of returnees and local environmental information were linked. In addition, a set of databases for returning farmers was constructed using population movement statistics and agricultural management database. In this paper, data necessary for service development were selected and collected. In addition, a total of three types of service scenarios were created according to the type of use of returnees, and information on customized policy projects for returnees were constructed. Finally, an exploratory analysis of the collected data was conducted. In other words, refinement work was carried out to build the utilized database set, and the database set was constructed according to the purpose of use. As a result, the agricultural support information and the agricultural management body database were used based on the basic characteristic information of the returnees to provide selective customized information and establish a database set to improve reliability. Through this, it is possible to provide a customized service for anyone interested in returning to farming to easily access the farming information database set and obtain related information.

Abstract Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the associations of health behaviors such as diet, sleep and physical activity with quality of life (QoL) for adults diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other major chronic diseases. The study hypothesizes that healthier diet in addition to an increased level of physical activity is associated with improving overall quality of life for those with MS. Methods The study includes adults aged 40 and older who are registered members of the Michigan Athletic Club in East Lansing, MI, diagnosed with MS, Parkinson's Disease or Arthritis (n = 30). Data on demographic information, previous health history and health behaviors such as mental health, diet, sleep and physical activity are collected. Multivariate regression models are analyzed in order to describe how current health behaviors are associated with quality of life for those with chronic conditions. Results Study results show that physically active MS patients with proper amount and better quality of sleep are likely to have higher overall quality of life. Healthier diet in addition to an increased level of physical activity is also likely to improve overall quality of life for those with MS. Conclusions When the importance of diet, exercise and sleep on MS is understood by the medical community, MS patients can utilize this information to improve their QoL through their own habits. Therefore, this study could lead to better management of symptoms by healthcare professionals and patients, and an improved QoL for those diagnosed with MS. Funding Sources N/A.

The intent of this paper is to show that discussion of watershed health and salmon (Oncorhynchus sp.) performance can incorporate a much greater degree of complexity without loss of clarity. We can and should include more temporal-spatial detail, more life history complexity, and more watershed-specific information. The framework and performance measures used in watershed management generally, and salmon management specifically, are inadequate. The bottleneck metaphor is cited all too frequently as a basis for discussion. The bottleneck analogy is useful in understanding capacity, but capacity alone cannot explain observed responses of salmon populations to environmental change. An argument can be made that where protection and enhancement of weak stocks is the priority, productivity is a more critical variable. However, a framework built only around productivity and capacity is also not sufficient. It neglects the need for connectivity of habitats that salmon must pass through to complete their life histories. Adding life history diversity as the third component of performance provides the time and space structure needed to deal with connectivity while also allowing for integration of populations where they mingle.

Natural disasters due to climate change can cause thousand tons of waste and the loss of human life, environmental damage and also economic losses each year. One of the ways to increase the effectiveness of waste management is by conducting waste banks activities as a community based environmental governance. Here, waste banks can be considered as a valuable economic commodity and savings. The supporting factor for the success of waste banks activity is through a technological instrument as a community based management which encourage the innovations for developing waste banks to be more effective and integrated. The method applied to the waste banks management system is a combination of the k- means cluster and the geographic information system (GIS) to identify groups of waste banks that have identical types of waste and also their distribution. The waste banks information system is able to provide information of the distribution of waste, waste production, the selling price of waste, and also groups of waste banks that have identical types of waste. The data used are 50 waste banks over a period of 8 months. The waste banks information system is able to perform classification in order to evaluate the distribution of waste.
