This paper constructs the indicator system for evaluating eco-innovation, and studies the eco-innovation performance of 30 provinces in China in 2009 by the factor analysis method, and makes a comparison analysis with the situation of three northeastern provinces. The result shows: innovative strength, technical environment and the degree of environment protection are the key factors influencing eco-innovation performance, the innovative strength of Liaoning province is the greatest in three northeastern provinces, but it's at greater expense of environment; Heilongjiang Province has better environment for technology development, but innovative strength is weak; Jilin province has no advantage in these three factors

Three new species of Sosippinae from Argentina are described; one new species of Hippasella Mello-Leitão, 1944, H. alhue sp. nov., from temperate Andean forests in the Argentinean provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro and two new species of Aglaoctenus Tullgren, 1905, A. yacytata sp. nov., from the rainforests in Misiones province, and A. puyen sp. nov., from temperate Andean forests in Río Negro province. Aglaoctenus oblongus (C. L. Koch, 1847) is recorded for first time in Entre Ríos province and new records for Buenos Aires province (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay) are provided. The distribution of A. lagotis (Holmberg, 1876) is updated with first time records for the Argentinean provinces of Jujuy, Salta, Chaco, Formosa, La Rioja, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, San Luis and Entre Ríos, new localities in the provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, Santa Fé and Córdoba.

Abstract Increase of atmospheric aerosols has a profound impact on the Earth’s climate. It’s also one of the crucial factors that cuasesd more fequent air pollution events in China. Monthly average Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) from MODIS and UltraViolet Absorbing aerosol Index (UVAI) from OMI during 2011 to 2019 are used to analyse the trend of absorption and total aerosol optical properties over three typical provinces of China, namely Shandong, Gansu and Guangdong provinces. The results show the average annual AOD of the three provinces are all decreasing while UVAI rises during this period. In addition, the monthly variation of AOD and UVAI are also obviously different over these provinces. In particular, the peak value of AOD appeared in July and the trough appeared in December over Shandong Province. And the peak appeared in April over Gansu Province, but AOD decrease slower then over Shandong Province. And there were two peaks in April and August over Guangdong Province. For UVAI, the peaks over Shandong and Gansu provinces both occur in January, while that over Guangdong Province appears in March. Above mentioned differences in the long-term trend and monthly variation of AOD and UVAI might be closely related to the meteorological conditions and aerosol emission of these three provinces.

From 1890 to 1892, Sir Samuel Griffith, as Premier of Queensland, promoted a scheme under which Queensland would itself have been divided into a federation of initially three provinces — North, Central and South Queensland — and then two provinces, North and South Queensland. This startling idea would certainly have changed the map of Australia, probably permanently. At least at some points, the idea was expressed that each province would enter the Australian federation as a separate State and the Queensland federal government would simply be dissolved upon federation. The Bill to divide Queensland into a federation of two provinces passed the lower House of State Parliament but was defeated in the nominee Legislative Council. It then fell victim to the change of government consequent upon Griffith’s appointment as Chief Justice of Queensland, to the urgent problems presented by the economic depression, and even, from the conservative point of view, to the rise of labour in politics. Little has been known about this nearly successful plan until now. This article attempts to close that gap.

Based on TOPSIS-Grey Relational Analysis Method, the three dimensions of cultivated land quantity, quality and ecological danger are organically integrated to build a comprehensive evaluation indicator system of practical and national cultivated land resources and quantitative calculation method by taking the province-level administrative region as the evaluation unit. The index of cultivated land quantity, quality, and ecological danger and the comprehensive index of cultivated land resources are calculated quantitatively in 31 province-level administrative regions of China. The comprehensive endowment and superiority of cultivated land resources in each province are also analysed systematically. The results show that there are 10 provinces (municipalities directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions) classified as “high superiority” provinces in terms of cultivated land resources. There are 9 provinces classified as “relatively high superiority” provinces. The dominant types of cultivated land resources in China can be classified into six types: superiority type of quantity, superiority type of quantity and ecology, superiority type of quality and ecology, superiority type of ecology, comprehensive superiority type, and unclear superiority type. Most provinces have a certain “single superiority”, “double superiority”, or “comprehensive superiority”.

Currently, there have been three new autonomous regions established as a result of regional expansion in Papua Island, namely South Papua Province, Central Papua Province, and Papua Mountain Province. The formation of new provinces is expected to become a prime mover for accelerating equitable economic development in the Papua region. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study to analyze the impact of the formation of the province on the economic performance of Papua Island. The method used is the Final Demand Impact analysis of the Input-Output (I-O) Table. The results of this study indicate that the formation of the province has an impact on increasing the economic output of Papua Island by 37.7 percent and 69.5 percent for an increase in added value and contributing to an increase in employment of 71.1 percent or as many as 1.5 million people. The improvement in the economic performance of Papua Island, in turn, will indirectly have a positive effect on improving people's welfare and strengthening regional competitiveness and the contribution of the regional economy to the national economy. In addition, it also reduces the level of inequality in economic development nationally, which is still dominated by Java Island.

This research analyzes the differences in OCOP products between Thanh Hoa province and Nghe An province, Vietnam. OCOP products are analyzed based on three aspects: Product mean score (Product level), Structure of product type, and Structure of product region. The analysis sample includes 115 OCOP products from 3 to 5 stars in each province (230 products in total). Research results are confirmed that there are some differences in OCOP Products between Thanh Hoa province and Nghe An Province. Whereby, there is the difference in the mean score, the difference in the structure of product type, and the difference in the structure of product region. These results help the authorities in both provinces to have appropriate policies and support tools to develop local OCOP products by the goals and orientations of each locality to commercialize strongly rural products that have their comparative advantage.

Focusing on the topic of water environment safety of China, this paper has selected the three northeast provinces of China as the research object due to their representativeness in economic development and resource security. By using the Entropy Weight Method, the Grey Correlation Analysis Method, and the Principal Component Analysis Method, this paper has first constructed a water environment safety evaluation system with 17 indicators from the economic, environmental, and ecological aspects. Furthermore, this paper has screened the initially selected indicators by the Principal Component Analysis Method and finally determined 11 indicators as the evaluation indicators. After indicator screening, this paper has adopted the improved Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method to evaluate the water environment safety of the three northeast provinces of China and obtained the change in water environment safety of different provinces from 2009 to 2017. The results show that the overall water environment safety of the region had improved first but worsened afterward, and that in terms of water safety level, Jilin Province ranked first, followed by Heilongjiang Province and Liaoning Province. The three factors that have the greatest impact on the water environment safety of the three provinces are: Liaoning—Chemical Oxygen Demand (score: 17.10), Per Capita Disposable Income (score: 13.50), and Secondary Industry Output (score: 11.50); Heilongjiang—Chemical Oxygen Demand (score: 18.64), Per Capita Water Resources (score: 12.75), and Concentration of Inhalable Particles (score: 10.89); Jilin—Per Capita Water Resources (score: 15.75), Chemical Oxygen Demand (score: 14.87), and Service Industry Output (score: 11.55). Based on analysis of the evaluation results, this paper has proposed corresponding policy recommendations to improve the water environment safety and promote sustainable development in the northeast provinces of China.

This study investigated the incidence of work-related diseases and injuries among cultivating farmers in Thailand by conducting a three-year retrospective study with 207,465 farmers from Roi-Et province and 154,478 farmers from Udon Thani province. Health data were collected from the hospital information systems (HIS) of Roi-Et and Udon Thani provinces for a three-year period (2014–2016). We used the ICD-10 classification codes for diseases and injuries to analyse the incidence rates per 100,000 farmers. The number of cases that visited health centres were 53,794 in Udon Thani (34.82%) and 77,438 in Roi-Et (37.32%). The top five morbidity rates in Roi-Et and Udon Thani were work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), followed by injuries, infectious disease, skin disease, and lung disease. The incidence of diseases and injuries found in Roi-Et, a more cultivating-agriculture-based province, was higher than that found in Udon Thani province. WMSDs were the greatest health concern in regard to cultivating activities. Infectious and lung diseases might have also been related to the cultivating activities, which warrants further studies. Our findings highlight an urgent need for targeted occupational health services, and health and safety measures among cultivating farmers in both provinces. Regular monitoring and surveillance programmes for cultivating farmers need to be in place, at the provincial level, to mitigate risk and protect the health and well-being of the farmers.

This paper discusses a model developed for evaluating the division of Slovenia into provinces based on 19 criteria. We used them to evaluate six models of provinces. Due to the similarities between some of the models, this paper presents only the results of the divisions into one, three, six, and fourteen provinces. The quantitative evaluation results show that the division into three provinces seems to be the most appropriate solution. However, if there is a desire to have sufficiently large provinces that are able to independently direct their development in line with the principles of sustainable development and in accordance with the principles of the protection of natural and cultural heritage values, thereby simultaneously responding to the challenges of globalisation and climate change, then we, the authors of this paper, believe that the division of Slovenia into six provinces is the most appropriate solution. These provinces are already small enough so that their population can identify itself with them. Bemisia tabaci is an important vector of cassava brown streak viruses and cassava mosaic begomoviruses, the causal agents of cassava brown streak disease and cassava mosaic disease (CMD), respectively. A study was carried out to determine the genetic variability of B. tabaci associated with cassava and the occurrence of CMD in Zambia in 2013 and 2015. Phylogenetic analysis showed the presence of only the sub-Saharan Africa 1 (SSA1) genetic group in Zambia. The SSA1 population had three population subgroups (SGs): SSA1-SG1, SSA1-SG2 and SSA1-SG3. All three SSA1 population subgroups occurred in Western Province. However, only SSA1-SG3 occurred in Eastern Province, while only SSA1-SG1 occurred in North Western and Luapula Provinces. Adult B. tabaci were most abundant in Western Province in 2013 (11.1/plant) and 2015 (10.8/plant), and least abundant (0.2/plant) in Northern Province in both 2013 and 2015. CMD was prevalent in all seven provinces surveyed, with the highest incidence recorded in Lusaka Province in both 2013 (78%) and 2015 (83.6%), and the lowest in Northern Province in both 2013 (26.6%) and 2015 (29.3%). Although SSA1-SG1 occurred at greater abundances than the other subgroups, there was no direct association demonstrated between whitefly subgroup and incidence of CMD. Establishing which B. tabaci genetic groups and populations are associated with CMD and their distribution in the country is a key factor in guiding the development of CMD control strategies for cassava-dependent households.

Nepal has 123 languages within six families of spoken languages and a sign language. She has federal administrative structure and three levels of government. There is no majority language at national level. Nepali is the only majority language at province level with majority in 4 among the 7 provinces, and 21 majority languages at local level. The distribution of languages in terms of mother tongue speakers varies considerably among the different levels – national, province and local – as well as among the different units of the same level – among the provinces and among the local levels. According to the provision in the prevalent constitution, one or more majority language(s) spoken as mother tongue in a province can be additional official language of the province provided by the particular province through province law. This paper looks at the language data at different levels and concludes that the province is not the appropriate unit for use of additional official language in terms of cost effectiveness and inclusiveness, instead local level is the appropriate unit. Thus it suggests to consider local level as the unit of implementation and include the languages above 25% mother tongue speakers in the local level for the additional official language.

Three Panamanian cloud forest species in the genus Lycianthes are newly described: L. coloradensis, from the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca; L. fortunensis from Chiriquí Province, Veraguas Province, and the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca; and L. talamancensis from Bocas del Toro and Chiriquí provinces. All three species are woody vines with tan, yellow, or orange-brown multangulate-stellate trichomes and entire to nearly entire white to purple corollas. In terms of vegetative morphology and trichome characteristics, L. coloradensis most closely resembles L. purpusii of Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, L. fortunensis resembles the widespread L. multiflora, and L. talamancensis resembles L. hortulana of Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. This article provides species descriptions, maps of geographic distributions, specimen images of each species, and comparison tables of morphological characters used to separate L. coloradensis, L. fortunensis and L. talamancensis from similar species.

Background: Sites of overlap in the species distribution among regions are known as transition zones. Their floristic and biogeographic complexity is rarely discussed. Questions: Is it possible to identify transition zones amid the biogeographic provinces of Mexico? Can transition zones also be considered areas of endemism? Study species: 315 Asteraceae taxa endemic to Mexico.Study site: Volcanic Belt, Balsas Depression and Sierra Madre del Sur biogeographic provinces. Methods: For species of Asteraceae endemic to three biogeographic provinces of central Mexico, we characterized the province to which each species belonged and estimated the distance it could penetrate the neighboring province. We defined transition zones between biogeographic provinces as the average penetration distances of the species. We also evaluated the presence of species with restricted distribution to transition zones. Results: Two transition zones were identified in the Balsas Depression, first, at the junction with the Volcanic Belt with a width of 13 km, and second, with the Sierra Madre del Sur, with a width of 12.3 km. There were 45 species whose distribution was restricted to those transition zones.Conclusions: Understanding how richness and endemism are exchanged from one region to another is essential to explain how their floras have been assembling and evolving. This analysis has allowed us to better understand the relationships among regions as complex as those studied here.

This study aimed to show maps and analyses that display dengue cases and weather-related factors on dengue transmission in the three southernmost provinces of Thailand, namely Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces. Data on the number of dengue cases and weather variables including rainfall, rainy day, mean temperature, min temperature, max temperature, relative humidity, and air pressure for the period from January 2015 to December 2019 were obtained from the Bureau of Epidemiology, Ministry of Public Health and the Meteorological Department of Southern Thailand, respectively. Spearman rank correlation test was performed at lags from zero to two months and the predictive modeling used time series Poisson regression analysis. The distribution of dengue cases showed that in Pattani and Yala provinces the most dengue cases occurred in June. Narathiwat province had the most dengue cases occurring in August. The air pressure, relative humidity, rainfall, rainy day, and min temperature are the main predictors in Pattani province, while air pressure, rainy day, and max/mean temperature seem to play important roles in the number of dengue cases in Yala and Narathiwat provinces. The goodness-of-fit analyses reveal that the model fits the data reasonably well. The results provide scientific information for creating effective dengue control programs in the community, and the predictive model can support decision making in public health organizations and for management of the environmental risk area.

The high-quality development of the logistics industry plays an important role in high-quality economic development. Green logistics is attracting more attention, owing to environmental concern. Based on the five concepts of “innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing” of high-quality economic development, the input–output indicators of green logistics efficiency (GLE) have been designed. The correlation between the green logistics input and output indicators have been analyzed by Pearson, and the green logistics efficiency of 11 cities in Jiangxi Province has been calculated by three-stage DEA. The evolutionary characteristics of the high-quality development of green logistics efficiency in Jiangxi Province were analyzed and evaluated. The conclusions were achieved as follows: (1) Nanchang, Xinyu and Ganzhou city are at the forefront of efficiency, and are less affected by environmental factors. The logistics efficiency of other cities is obviously affected by environmental factors. (2) The comprehensive technical efficiency (TE) of green logistics in Jiangxi Province is strongly influenced by scale efficiency (SE). The poor scale efficiency reduces the comprehensive technical efficiency of green logistics. (3) There is a positive correlation between high-quality economic development and logistics efficiency. In these cities of Jiangxi province (Nanchang, Ganzhou, Jiujiang, etc.) the share of total economy and green logistics efficiency is high. This study proves that Jiangxi province is moving towards high-quality economic development due to good environmental protection. (4) In 2017, Jiangxi Province was recognized as one of the national ecological civilization pilot region by the State Council. Green logistics efficiency in Jiangxi Province showed an inflection point in 2017, indicating that the green concept is becoming more and more popular. From the government to enterprises, the province has achieved initial results in promoting the transformation of the economic development mode. It aims to provide reference for the high-quality development of other provinces.

Rubber is the country's second largest foreign exchange earner in domestic agricultural products and provides the livelihood for 2.5 million families in Indonesia. Rubber plantations are spread in various provinces of Indonesia which are the second largest rubber producer with the largest plantation area in the world. The purpose of this study is to analyze the integration of the natural rubber market at the producer level and to find out how far changes in prices that occur in one market will cause changes in other markets. The analyzed provinces were eight provinces of Indonesia using the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) analysis methods using Rstudio and Eviews analysis tools. The price data used is from January 2016 to December 2021. The data obtained are from the SIM of the ministry of agriculture and the plantation service in the eight sample provinces with . The results of this study are that there is a balance and short-term and long-term integration between the largest rubber-producing provinces in Indonesia. Price changes in South Sumatra two months earlier had a negative effect on price changes in North Sumatra Province. Three months earlier, price changes in South Sumatra had a negative relationship with Lampung. This means that the increase in prices in South Sumatra Province in the previous three months led to a decrease in natural rubber prices in Lampung Province this month or vice versa and so on. Lag defined up to lag 3 (three months before) integration analysis supported by Granger causality test supported by IRF and FEVD.

Urban synergy can be assessed based on the development of a given city and the organization and development channels between cities. Using the entropy method, correction gravity model, and social network analysis, our study conducted a comprehensive quantitative analysis of the characteristics of urban network space in three northeast provinces in China. The region exhibited a “core city-peripheral city-marginal city” concentric pattern, with the most developed cities at the core. Nevertheless, our findings indicate that a collaborative development pattern is gradually forming. The three northeastern provinces and urban collaboration networks extended further to the north. Liaoning Province, most of Jilin Province, and most of Heilongjiang Province have gradually established a similar development relationship with other cities. The overall level of urban intermediary centers in the northeastern provinces is declining, and the direct contact between cities is becoming more apparent. These findings, in addition to agglomeration calculations, highlight the need for reorganizing the current collaborative urbanization structure in northeast China.

A molecular analysis based on mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (COI) gene sequences has indicated that larvae collected in Sichuan and Zhejiang Provinces, China, belong to Onycholyda xanthogaster Shinohara, 1999, and O. fulvicornis Shinohara, in Shinohara & Wei, 2016 (Hymenoptera, Pamphiliidae), and that a male Onycholyda specimen from Mt. Tianmushan, Zhejiang Province is the hitherto unknown male of O. tianmushana Shinohara & Xiao, 2006. The first host plant records are Rubus inopertus (Focke) Focke (Rosaceae) for O. xanthogaster and Rubus hirsutus Thunb. for O. fulvicornis. The larvae of O. xanthogaster and O. fulvicornis are briefly described and O. xanthogaster is newly recorded from Sichuan Province. The male of O. tianmushana is described for the first time.

In recent years, the divorce rate for China has been rising year by year. Based on the crude divorce rate from 2001 to 2019, this paper selects four groups of Heilongjiang, Shanxi and Guangdong, where the total divorce rate and the total divorce rate of China are high, medium and low respectively, and explores the reasons for the rising divorce rate of China from three aspects of economy, education and population composition. Compare the provinces with high divorce rate and low divorce rate at the same time, and analyze the reasons and geographical differences of rising divorce rate. This paper is mainly divided into two parts. The first part is the comparison of differences between four groups based on multivariate statistical analysis, and the second part is structural equation model analysis. The first part is mainly descriptive statistics and variance analysis of all groups in China, Shaanxi, Guangdong and Heilongjiang, to confirm whether there are differences among the four groups. Then, profile analysis was conducted to compare the whole in China and Shaanxi province with the median divorce rate, as well as heilongjiang Province with the high divorce rate and Guangdong Province with the low divorce rate. In the second part of structural equation model analysis, first of all, the factors affecting the divorce rate were analyzed. Secondly, through the structural equation model analysis, the effect of economic and social development characteristics and modernization characteristics and fertility on divorce rates between Heilongjiang Province, the average Shanxi Province, and low Guangdong Province is verified and concluded. Through a variety of analyses, this paper draws a conclusion that the divorce rate for China is greatly influenced by social development characteristics and modernization characteristics and fertility. However, there is little difference in the influence factors of the three provinces of China.

Diaporthe species (Sordariomycetes, Diaporthales) are often reported as important plant pathogens, saprobes and endophytes on a wide range of plant hosts. In this study, Diaporthe specimens were collected from symptomatic twigs and branches at the Huoditang Forest Farm in Shaanxi Province, China. Identification was done using a combination of morphology and comparison of DNA sequence data of the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS), calmodulin (cal), histone H3 (his3), partial translation elongation factor-1α (tef1) and β-tubulin (tub2) gene regions. Three new Diaporthe species are proposed: D. albosinensis, D. coryli and D. shaanxiensis. All species are illustrated and their morphology and phylogenetic relationships with other Diaporthe species are discussed.

As a widely grown oil crop in China, rapeseed accounts for 38.6% of China’s total oil crop production. In order to ensure the sustainable and healthy development of the rapeseed industry, this essay uses the input-output panel data of 15 central rapeseed-producing provinces (cities) in China from 2011 to 2019. The reasons for the change of the index were further studied using three-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) and the Malmquist method. The three-stage DEA results show that the scale efficiency of rapeseed production increases in other provinces, except in Qinghai Province and Gansu Province, and that scale efficiency can be improved through additional investment. Planting enterprises can improve their efficiency by improving the efficiency of scientific and technological progress. On the other hand, government expenditure has a positive impact on rapeseed production efficiency. The Malmquist index shows that the technical progress efficiency index has the most significant impact during this period and the rapeseed total factor productivity can be improved by improving technological progress efficiency. In addition, according to the measured results, corresponding suggestions are put forward.

(Heterolius) fortepunctatus Motschulsky, 1860 is redescribed and illustrated. Numerous new and additional records of Xantholinus species from Turkey are presented. A distributional checklist of the thirty eight species of Xantholinus represented in Turkey is provided. The distributions of Turkish Helicophallus species are mapped.

The study objective was to test the influence of three factors namely government spending on education, health, and minimum wages on human development index in five selected provinces of Indonesia. The method of analysis is the Panel-data based analysis covering the time period of 2007 to 2016. The study is focused towards five selected provinces in Indonesia including Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, and Jambi. The results show that government spending on education and health bring positive but insignificant effects on human development index; whereas, minimum wages turned out to be positive and significantly influencing human development index. Overall the HDI average is not much different and there is no discrepancy between provinces in Southern Sumatra from the range of 68 percent to 70 percent. However, of the five provinces in Southern Sumatra, there are two provinces with higher HDI figures than the others, namely Jambi Province and Bangka Belitung Province.

Monkey pox is a rare viral zoonotic disease of which clinical manifestations are similar to smallpox, it is transmitted to humans by direct contact with the body of an infected animal, but the transmission can also be human-to-human. The Democratic Republic of Congo is the most endemic country in the world where almost all provinces are affected by this scourge. However, in the administrative configuration currently, monkey pox has not been detected in Nord Ubangi province yet. This cross-sectional study focuses on three cases of patients diagnosed with monkey pox virus at Businga General Hospital in Nord Ubangi province. The findings show that all the three patients were male with a primary education level and their average age was 9±3.46 years. They had some epidemiological characteristics specific to monkey pox, including high fevers, rashes, pruritus and abdominal pain. After two weeks of symptomatic treatment, each patient was able to get out without further complications. For the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the cases of Monkey pox in Nord Ubangi Province.

The evaluation of the actual situation of the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Chinese universities by delegating the "three powers" to universities is of great significance for the formulation and improvement of policies for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in universities. The article is based on the composite control method and selects multiple provinces in China that have not implemented the "Three Powers Decentralization" policy in university reform pilot projects to simulate the situation where universities in Hubei Province in China have not implemented the policy. The comparison is made with the current "Three Powers Decentralization" policy to highlight the implementation effect of the "Three Powers Decentralization" policy in universities in Hubei Province in China. Research has found that the "three decentralization" reform has a significant promoting effect on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in universities in Hubei Province. The implementation of the "three decentralization" reform in universities in Hubei Province has a certain degree of policy spillover effect, and has a significant promoting effect on the transformation level of scientific and technological achievements in the entire region. The transformation reform of scientific and technological achievements in universities under the principle of "delegating three powers" has a significant positive promoting effect on the output of scientific and technological achievements in universities in Hubei Province. Based on the research findings, corresponding policy recommendations have been provided for optimizing the transformation plan of scientific and technological achievements in various regions through the exploration of the reform plan in Hubei Province.

BACKGROUND: An important global public health problem in many economically developed countries, in particular Kazakhstan, is the leading cause of incidence of and mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD). AIM: The purpose of our study was to compare incidence and mortality from CVD in urban and rural areas of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2019 based on statistics. METHODS: We conducted a descriptive study, which based on secondary data from the statistical reports on the Republic of Kazakhstan «Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the activities of health care organizations». Information from this database were generated by 14 provinces, three cities of republican significance and whole Kazakhstan. In addition, these indicators were divided for rural and urban settlements. RESULTS: Data from our epidemiological study of the incidence of and mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD) in all provinces indicate a relatively high incidence of and mortality from CVD among urban population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among urban residents (per 100,000 population), the highest incidence rates of CVD was in Akmola province (3771.7), the ischemic heart disease (IHD) was in Almaty city (850.8), arterial hypertension (AH) was in Akmola province (2623.8), acute myocardial infarction was in the North Kazakhstan province (212.9), the highest mortality from CVD was in Karaganda province (365), the IHD was in East Kazakhstan province (135.4). Among rural residents (per 100,000 population), there are high incidence rates of CVD in the East Kazakhstan province (3452.8), the IHD in Zhambyl province (713.1), AH in the East Kazakhstan province (1871.4), acute myocardial infarction in Atyrau province (148.3), the highest mortality from CVD was in East Kazakhstan province (201.9), and the IHD also in East Kazakhstan province (77.3). CONCLUSIONS: There is rural-urban health inequality in many countries and CVD is not the exclusion. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the rural population has got lower rates of incidence and mortality. This may be due to the bad access to medical facilities that are typical for rural areas of Kazakhstan and the shortage of modern diagnostic equipment which may interfere with timely diagnosis.

Similar to the problems surrounding carbon transfers that exist in international trade, there are severe carbon emission headaches in regional industrial systems within countries. It is essential for emission reduction control and regional industrial restructuring to clarify the relationship of carbon emissions flows between industrial sectors and identify key carbon-emitting industrial sectors. Supported by the input–output model (I-O model) and social network analysis (SNA), this research adopts input–output tables (2017), energy balance sheets (2021) and the energy statistics yearbooks (2021) of the three Chinese provinces of Hei-Ji-Liao to construct an Embodied carbon emission transfer network (ECETN) and determine key carbon-emitting industrial sectors with a series of complex network measurement indicators and analysis methods. The key abatement control pathways are obtained based on the flow relationships between the chains in the industrial system. The results demonstrate that the ECETNs in all three provinces of Hei-Ji-Liao are small-world in nature with scale-free characteristics (varying according to the power function). The key carbon emission industry sectors in the three provinces are identified through centrality, influence, aggregation and diffusion, comprising coal mining, the chemical industry, metal products industry, machinery manufacturing and transportation in Liaoning Province; coal mining, non-metal mining, non-metal products, metal processing and the electricity industry in Jilin Province; and agriculture, metal processing and machinery manufacturing in Heilongjiang. Additionally, key emission reduction control pathways in the three provinces are also identified based on embodied carbon emission flow relationships between industry sectors. Following the above findings, corresponding policy recommendations are proposed to tackle the responsibility of carbon reduction among industrial sectors in the province. Moreover, these findings provide some theoretical support and policy considerations for policymakers.

South Kalimantan Province is the province with the highest number of child marriage cases, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2017 and 2019. This has resulted in various negative impacts, one of which is the high maternal mortality rate, as well as the low human development index (HDI) in the province, which is placed at the 22nd position from 34 provinces in Indonesia. This paper aims to examine various strategic actors who can prevent and reduce the practice of child marriage in South Kalimantan Province in three levels of analysis: the macro, mezzo, and micro levels. This paper seeks the relationship between the three aspects of structure, culture, and social processes at the three macro, mezzo, and micro levels, as the concept of analysis used to prevent child marriage practices from a child protection perspective and SRHR issues. This study uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interview methods to key policy makers and is supported by focus group discussions (FGD) to participants in discussions from various backgrounds, both government agencies, and non-governmental organizations concerned with the issue of child and women's protection in South Kalimantan Province.

According to SEKI data in 2020, DKI Jakarta is the province that has the highest average monthly value of rupiah loans provided by commercial banks and rural banks. Many factors can affect the size of the value. The amount of rupiah loans provided by commercial banks and rural banks in the previous months can affect the current value. The geographical conditions of an area can have an impact on the surrounding area. Likewise, the number of rupiah loans in DKI Jakarta Province is suspected of having mutual influence with surrounding provinces. The provinces that are directly adjacent to DKI Jakarta are Banten Province and West Java Province. The purpose of this study is to conduct spatio-temporal analysis of the amount of loans provided by commercial banks and rural banks. The data used is the monthly amount of rupiah loans provided by commercial banks and rural banks in DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten Provinces in a time period between January 2012 to July 2021. The GSTAR method has been used to analyze the spatio-temporal relationship. The GSTAR model formed is GSTAR(3,6,12) with differencing order of 1. Based on the model formed, it was concluded that the amount of loans provided by commercial banks and rural banks in the three provinces is related to each other spatially and temporally. The RMSE value for each of the models formed is 1.871 for Banten Province, 13.701 for DKI Jakarta, and 2.919 for West Java Province.

The current study examines the long-run effects of climatic factors on wheat production in China’s top three wheat-producing provinces (Hebei, Henan, and Shandong). The data set consists of observations from 1992 to 2020 on which several techniques, namely, fully modified OLS (FMOLS), dynamic OLS (DOLS), and canonical co-integrating regression (CCR) estimators, and Granger causality, are applied. The results reveal that climatic factors, such as temperature and rainfall, negatively influenced wheat production in Henan Province. This means that Henan Province is more vulnerable to climate change. In contrast, it is observed that climatic conditions (via temperature and rainfall) positively contributed to wheat production in Hebei Province. Moreover, temperature negatively influenced wheat production in Shandong Province, while rainfall contributed positively to wheat production. Further, the results of Granger causality reveal that climatic factors and other determinants significantly influenced wheat production in the selected provinces.

This new Eastern Pacific endemic genus contains three species: F. peruviana (Lamarck, 1811), which ranges from northern Peru south to southern Chile (Peruvian Molluscan Province); F. kaleontina (Duclos, 1835), which ranges from the Gulf of California south to northern Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands (Panamic Molluscan Province); and a new subspecies, F. kaleontina chimu n. subsp. (described here), which is confined to southern Ecuador and northern Peru (extreme southernmost Panamic Molluscan Province).

This study aims at determining inclusive growth and exploring the relationship between inclusive growth, educational attainment and morbidity rate in Papua province. This is due to the fact that Papua Province with special autonomy status attempts to catch up with economic growth from other provinces and increases income equity by focusing on education and health. This study exploits Social Mobility Curve (SMC) and Panel VAR to comprehend inclusive growth and determine the reciprocal relationship between Social Mobility Index, average years of schooling and morbidity rate in Papua Province in 2011-2016. Based on the results, there was economic growth in Papua Province which was still accompanied by an increase in income disparity, thus, it could be concluded that economic growth in Papua was still not inclusive. Regarding the results of the Panel VAR, there was no reciprocal relationship between the three variables with education and health having a positive and significant effect on inclusive growth. The positive influence of education and health is probably due to individual productivity and globalization factors. To increase inclusive growth, Papua Province is advised to improve student education so that later students most likely be more productive and get better jobs and salaries.

Data regarding Salmonella on raw poultry are very limited in China. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of Salmonella on raw poultry at the retail level in six provinces and two national cities in China. Whole chicken carcasses (n = 1,152) were collected from three types of retail markets (large, small, and wet). All samples were analyzed for the presence of Salmonella by using the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety Inspection Service method. Of 1,152 chicken samples, overall Salmonella prevalence was 52.2%. The highest prevalence was observed in Guangxi Province (65.3%), next in Guangdong Province (64.6%), and then in Beijing (63.9%), Shaanxi Province (50.7%), Henan Province (47.9%), Shanghai (44.4%), and Fujian Province (42.4%), and lowest prevalence was observed in Sichuan Province (38.9%). Salmonella prevalence was significantly different among the six provinces and two national cities. Salmonella prevalence was highest in the wet markets (54.4%) compared with the large markets (50.3%) and the small markets (52.1%), but differences were not significant (P > 0.05). Good manufacturing practices, good agricultural practices, and hazard analysis critical control point systems for Salmonella control in poultry production at the farm, processing, and retail level should be implemented.

With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, atmospheric pollution research is vital for regional sustainable development and related policies formulated by the government. Previous studies have mainly studied a single evaluation method to analyze the air quality index (AQI) or single air pollutant. This research integrated the Spearman coefficient (SC) correlation analysis, a random search (RS) algorithm and an excellent extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) algorithm to evaluate the air pollution influence of industrialization and urbanization (APIIU). Industrialization, urbanization and meteorological indicators were used to measure the influence degree of APIIU on AQI and particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5), respectively. The main findings were: (1) the APIIU-AQI and APIIU-PM2.5 of Henan Province, Hubei Province and Hunan Province had significant changes from 2017 to 2019; (2) the value of square of determination coefficient of real value (R2), the root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of APIIU-AQI and APIIU-PM2.5 in three provinces predicted by the SC-RS-XGBoost were 0.945, 0.103, 4.25% and 0.897, 0.205, 4.84%, respectively; (3) the predicted results were more accurate than using a SC-XGBoost, RS-XGBoost, traditional XGBoost, support vector regression (SVR) and extreme learning machine (ELM).

Based on the inter-provincial panel data for 31 provinces in China from 2000 to 2019, and incorporating geospatial factors, a spatial panel vector autoregressive (SPVAR) model consisting of population mobility, industrial structure upgrading, and economic growth is constructed. The space-time impulse response function is used to analyze the space-time conduction of exogenous variables on the impact of three endogenous variables. The study found that first, the population influx barely benefited the industrial structure upgrading and economic growth. Second, the upgrading of the industrial structure would aggravate the population mobility in the province, causing low-level laborers to leave the province in short-term, but in long-term, there would be influx of talents. Third, the economic growth in developed regions plays a significant role in promoting the industrial development of their province and population-rich provinces, but it has less impact on provinces with high-level industrial structure. Finally, policy recommendations are provided in regard to the benign interaction among population mobility, industrial structure upgrading, and economic growth in addition to clarifying the idea of economic development, implementing correct population policies, and promoting the coordinated regional development.

The pine wood nematode (PWN), Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Steiner & Buhrer) Nickle., is one of the most dangerous invasive species in the world, causing devastating pine wilt disease (PWD) in pine trees from many countries. The PWN is now established in 18 provinces in China from the south to north, and it has expanded to some areas of Liaoning Province with temperatures that are beyond the ideal range. It has been reported that Pinus koraiensis Siebold & Zucc., one of the representative pine trees of Liaoning Province, has been infected by PWNs. To investigate the pathogenicity of the PWN in P. koraiensis, the reproductive ability of PWNs on fungal culture was compared among three isolates: QH-1, NM-1, and CM-1 (QH-1 from Liaoning Province, NM-1 from Nanjing Province, and CM-1 from Chongqing Municipality). Four-year-old P. koraiensis seedlings were inoculated with QH-1, NM-1, and CM-1 at a rate of 2000 per seedling. Pathogenicity, external symptoms, and nematode migration were all monitored on a daily basis over the next few days. The results from the experiment showed that all three PWN isolates caused wilt in P. koraiensis seedlings, with QH-1 being more virulent than NM-1 and CM-1. In addition, QH-1 exhibited greater reproductive and migration abilities in the seedlings than NM-1 and CM-1. These results indicate that the virulence of the B. xylophilus isolates QH-1, NM-1, and CM-1 can differ in terms of seedling mortality, migration ability, and reproductive ability (in trees).

Thirty-nine surface sediment samples collected from the western Sunda Shelf off the Malay Peninsula (WSSMP) in the southern South China Sea (SCS) were analysed for grain size, major and trace elemental compositions, and light/heavy mineral contents to trace the sediment sources and their transport mechanisms in the study area. In the WSSMP, the surface sediments are relatively poorly sorted but transportable. A principal component analysis of 37 elements and grain size fractions indicates that the surface sediments can be grouped into four major assemblages in the study area. Integrating with the light/heavy minerals data in the 63–125 μm fractions of the surface sediment samples, to better trace the sediment sources of the coarse-grained components in the marine environment, the study area can be further divided into four sediment provinces. Province I is located in the northwestern part of the study area. The concentrations of TiO2, Na2O, garnet, siderite, and glauconite in Province I were higher than in the other provinces. The main sediment source for this province originated from the Kelantan River and the Gulf of Thailand transported by the northeastern monsoon current. Province II is located offshore of the Pahang and Endau Rivers. The percentages of TiO2, rare earth elements, Al2O3, quartz, plagioclase, hypersthene, and magnetite in the surface sediments were typically higher in this province than in the other provinces. The Pahang and Endau rivers provide most of the sediments to this province, which are transported by southward coastal currents. Province III is located in the northeastern and eastern parts of the study area, where the coarse-grained sediment fraction had relatively high hornblende and biotite contents. Sediments in this province are mostly transported from the Mekong River during the northeastern monsoon. The other parts of the study area belong to Province IV, where the surface sediment elemental and mineral concentrations were mostly between those of the other three provinces. Therefore, we suggest that Province IV has a mixed source due to inputs from the surrounding rivers.

It has become a hot topic in sustainable development to determine how to use data series to predict the trajectory of ecological footprints (EFs), precisely map biocapacity (BC), and effectively analyze regional sustainability. The sustainability of the ecological system in Gansu province must be investigated because the province is situated in western China and serves as a significant economic and transportation hub. We used the EF model to compute the per capita EF and BC of Gansu province from 2010 to 2020. We created a three-dimensional ecological footprint (EF3D) model by incorporating the ecological footprint size (EFsize) and ecological footprint depth (EFdepth) into the EF model and the EF3D of Gansu province from 2010 to 2020 was measured. The EF3D value was estimated using the gray GM (1, 1) prediction model in order to determine the sustainability condition of Gansu province during the next ten years. Finally, the risk of ecosystem loss in the province of Gansu was ultimately assessed using an ecological risk model (EVR). The results show that Gansu province’s per capita EF and BC displayed generally rising trends and the province is experiencing unsustainable development. The region’s projected future consumption of natural capital was estimated by the results, and the EF3D of Gansu province is expected to increase significantly in the future. These findings have a certain reference value for adjusting the industrial structure and utilizing resources in Gansu province. Furthermore, these findings will assist Gansu province in achieving sustainable development policy recommendations.

Leishmania parasites isolated in the Islamic Republic of Iran were studied by a random amplified polymorphic DNA polymerase chain reaction [RAPD-PCR]. Of 82 isolates, 80 were from cutaneous lesions, 1 from a human throat lesion and 1 from a dog. Of these, 42 isolates were L. tropica, 36 were L. major and 2 were L. infantum. There were 2 unidentified isolates [from the throat lesion and a cutaneous lesion] and these demonstrated 52% and 48% similarity with L. tropica and L. infantum. Both L. tropica and L. major were isolated from four provinces indicating a recent change in the epidemiology of cutaneous leishmaniasis. L. tropica was isolated from three provinces; L. major from one province. L. infantum was isolated from a human cutaneous lesion and from a dog in Bushehr province.

Systole comes after diastole; creative energy tends to move towards the common center one day, and spreads among a number of local centers and objects another day. The trend seems to be changing right now. Some of today’s tendencies convey the suggestion that the centripetal motion is giving way to the centrifugal one. The metropolises’ attractiveness, which was so evident just a short time ago, is melting. It is starting to seem that life in small towns is healthier and safer and can satisfy a lot of cultural needs.Probably, one of the reasons is degradation of cultural policies of global and national centers. Metropolises “come down” with haughtiness and self-complacence and start to treat the provinces as cultural colonies (p. 18). In return, provinces ignore the models proposed by metropolises and pay more attention to their own identity (p. 27). Once again, the experience of national provincial architecture of the first half of the 20th century (pp. 32, 37) is reconsidered and reassessed. Protection of monuments of the local culture and history (p. 89), concern for industrial heritage, unique landscapes (p. 96) and unique appearances of small towns are gaining ground. We are living again in a time of change. The quality of urban spaces is a pivotal part of high-quality spatial development. It is directly connected to the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of a region. In recent years, Northeast China has characterized urban space contraction and development. To study the quality of urban space in Northeast China, this paper fitted the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program’s Operational Linescan System (DMSP-OLS) and the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (NPP-VIIRS) nighttime light data with 11 indicators related to high-quality urban development for the period 1992–2018. The feasibility of nighttime light data reflecting urban spatial quality was verified by a linear equation, and the temporal characteristics of urban spatial quality in Northeast China were obtained. The Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression (ESDA-GTWR) explores the spatial relevance and possible influencing factors of this kind of development. The results suggest that the overall trend of spatial quality in the three northeastern provinces is “initial slow growth and significantly weakened after”. The fast developing cities include Panjin, Liaoyang, Shenyang, and Dalian in the Liaoning Province. On the other hand, cities such as Heihe and Yichun in the Heilongjiang Province have relatively slow development speeds. Furthermore, the spatial quality development in the three northeastern provinces exhibits a trend of continuous concentration. The cities with high spatial qualities are concentrated near the Liaoning Province, with low spatial qualities in the north and high spatial qualities in the southern parts of the three provinces. As there is a notable gap between the northern and the southern regions, the central region represents an area in partial transition. The spatial quality of each city in the three northeastern provinces is the result of a number of intertwined factors, with significant differences in the degree of their influence. The significant degree of influence factors on spatial quality from higher to lower is urbanization, quality of life, rural revitalization, government promotion, and infrastructure.
