The present research on efficacy of botanicals against pulse beetle in stored chickpea was conducted under laboratory conditions at Department of Entomology, SHUATS, Prayagraj, India during 2020-2021. The experiment was carried in the Completely Randomized Design with twelve treatments (Neem oil, Castor oil, Pungam oil and plant powders neem leaf powder, neem seed kernel powder, Vasambu rhizome powder, Turmeric powder, Custard apple leaf powder, Eucalyptus leaf powder, Lantana camara leaf powder, Notchi leaf powder, insecticide (Rynaxypyr) and untreated control. The results were evaluated on the basis of adult mortality, weight loss and Feeding Detterent Index. Vasambu rhizome powder, Neem oil, Castor oil, and Pungam oil were discovered to be the most successful treatments, demonstrating 100% adult mortality, negligible weight loss, and 100% Feeding Detterent Index.The effectiveness of the plant oils is due to their repellency and ovipositional detterent effects on stored products and the effeciency of vasambu rhizome powder was due to the presence of active principle, keta osarone which induces premature death of insects.

The investigation was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of different plant powders against Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) (Lepidoptera: Gelechidae) on stored wheat in the laboratory of the Department of Entomology, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, during 2021-22 at 30.25 ± 0.25ºC temperature and 75.00 ± 5.06% relative humidity. All the powders of Azadirachta indica A. Juss leaves, Pongamia pinnata L. leaves, Ocimum basilicum L. leaves, Piper nigrum L. seeds, A. indica kernel, Allium sativum L. cloves, Allium cepa L. bulbs and Curcuma longa L. rhizome, were superior to the untreated check but the efficacy level varied. The A. indica kernel powder @5g/kg (91.67%) was significantly superior over rest of the treatments with highest per cent mortality which was at par with A. indica kernel powder @2.5g/kg (88.30%). Whereas, significantly lowest mortality recorded in treatment O. basilicum powder @5g/kg (58.33%) and O. basilicum powder @10g/kg (40.00%).

The IGPC Engineering Department designed basic projects for powder detergent production plant, using technology developed in the IGPC laboratories, in 1998. - 2000. Several projects were completed: technological, machine, electrical, automation. On the basis of these projects, a production plant with a capacity of 25,000 t/y was manufactured, at "Delta In", Zrenjanin, in 2000.This technology was an innovation, because new approach in mixing a powder materials was used, as well as introducing a new type of dryer in detergent production. The product meets all quality demands for detergents with high specific weight (1000 g/l), as well as environmental regulations. The detergent production process is fully automatized, and the product has uniform quality. There is no waste material in detergent zeolite production, because all products with unsatisfactory quality are returned to the process. The production process can be controlled manually, which is necessary during start-up, and repairs.

The study was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Science and Biotechnology Department, Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State to investigate the insecticidal potency of three spices powder namely black pepper (Piper nigrum L.), ginger (Zingiber officinale L.), and true green (Ellectaria cardamom L.), against wheat weevil (Tribolium castaneum) on stored wheat grain. Spices powder was added separately to 20g of wheat grain in plastic containers at four dosages 0.15, 0.27, 0.37, and 0.5% (w/w) while control had no spices powder. Twenty insect pests (Tribolium castaneum) were introduced into each container. Mortality counted in each treatment was recorded after 7, 14, 21, 28 and 35 days. All treatments were replicated three times. Variations were significantly observed in the overall effect of different plant powders on the mortality of weevils extracted from wheat kernel. Weevils treated with Piper nigrum powder exhibited the highest mean mortality (16.37), followed by Ellectaria cardamom (16.05) and lastly Zingiber officinale (13.82). from the result obtained, it is evident that the spice powders possessed insecticidal properties which if fully extracted could be used in post harvest treatment of wheat grain on storage

This paper aims to present a way of obtaining aluminum based composite material obtained by powder metallurgy technique. We start mixing and milling the powders, compressing and sintering the samples. We established a sintering cycle for this type of composite material and studied obtained samples by SEM microscopy. The reaction between the matrix and the precursor of the reinforcing materials was studied with the aid of HSC 4.0 program, available at Engineering and Management of Metallic Materials department.

Specific activities of phenolic compounds produced from the fruiting bodies of the fungi PO and AB (the locally produced strain in Iraq) obtained from the Department of Plant Protection - Department of Organic Agriculture - Baghdad - Iraq were studied. Then, the phenolic compounds were determined after cleaning, drying and grinding the fruiting bodies. The alcoholic extract of the two fungi was prepared by adding 0.2 g of fruiting bodies powder per (1) ml of 98% ethyl alcohol, where the mixture was filtered, concentrated and kept in the refrigerator until use. The aqueous extract was prepared by adding 25 g of fruiting bodies powder per 500 ml of boiled distilled water. Similarly, the mixture was mixed, filtered and stored in the refrigerator until use. The study findings confirmed the existence of significant differences at the probability level (P ˂ 0.05) for the alcoholic and aqueous extracts and for the fungi in the content of phenolic compounds. Conversely, the reducing power was increased by increasing the concentrations prepared for the extracts prepared from the two fungi under study. The free radical scavenging method DPPH was used to estimate the antioxidant activity of alcoholic and aqueous extracts and of the fungi PO and AB. Thus, the results showed the superiority of ethyl acetate extract compared to the other used solvents. Keywords: Edible fungi, phenolic compounds, reducing power, free radical scavenging.

The aim of the study is to determine the possibility of using kelp and black chokeberry powders in bake¬ry product recipes. Objectives: to study the effect of powders on dough quality in various dosages and determine their optimal content; evaluate the quality indicators of finished products. The study was conducted at the Food Technology Department of the Northern Trans-Urals State Agricultural University. The objects of the study were semi-finished wheat bread products with the addition of kelp powder in the amount of 0.5; 1.0; 1.5 and 2 % to the flour weight; semi-finished bakery products with the addition of black chokeberry powder in the amount of 1; 3; 5; 7 % to the flour weight. The addition of kelp powder when kneading the dough increases the water absorption capacity of the dough compared to the control, which has a strengthening effect on the dough structure. The addition of black chokeberry powder to the dough redu¬ces the mass fraction of raw gluten, but also has a strengthening effect. The optimal dosage of kelp powder for adding to the recipe for wheat bread made from premium flour has been established – 2 %, and black chokeberry powder for buns – 3 % of the flour weight. The addition of kelp powder to finished pro¬ducts had the most noticeable effect on the shape and condition of the surface, the size and uniformity of the pore distribution, which can be associated with a greater water absorption capacity of the dough. The addition of black chokeberry powder to the recipe for bakery products had a positive effect on the organoleptic indicators, giving the finished products a pleasant berry taste and aroma. Bakery products were characterized by greater dimensional stability, uniform thin-walled porosity.

Moringa (Moringa oleifera), indigenous to India and Africa, is esteemed for its dual utility as a minor timber source and, more importantly, as a vegetable crop. The leaves of the moringa tree are exceptionally nutrient-dense, containing essential elements such as iron, calcium, proteins, vitamins A, C, and E, dietary fiber, phosphorus, and potassium, all vital for human health. Furthermore, these leaves are rich in antioxidants, including flavonoids and phenolics, which endow them with significant medicinal properties. Despite its sporadic cultivation hindering global availability, the production of moringa leaf powder presents a viable strategy to bolster its international export potential. This study aims to assess the efficacy of various drying techniques in producing moringa leaf powder while preserving its nutritional integrity. Conducted at the Post-Harvest Technology Laboratory within the Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, and the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, College of Technology and Agricultural Engineering at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, this research evaluates the nutritional quality of moringa leaf powder produced via different drying methods and from leaves of varying ages. Our findings indicate that the fluidized bed dryer excels in preserving the nutritional quality of the powder compared to tray and heat pump dryers. Additionally, the study concludes that heat pump dryers are unsuitable for producing high-quality moringa leaf powder.

AbstractCemented carbide tools suffer from many issues due to the use of tungsten and cobalt as raw materials. Indeed, those are listed by the European Commission as “critical raw materials” since 2011 and by the US Department of Interior as “critical minerals” in 2018. To remain competitive with the conventional high-speed steels, less performant but cheaper, WC–Co tools can be recycled. In the present paper, a WC–7.5Co powder, recycled by the “Coldstream” process, has been sintered with vacuum sintering. As preliminary experiments have shown that the sinterability of the powder is low, the sintering temperature was set at 1500 °C to achieve full density. In parallel, the influence of ball milling conditions (rotation speed and milling medium) on the reactivity of the recycled powder has been studied in terms of grain size distribution, hardness, and fracture toughness. The optimized milling conditions were found to be 6 h wet milling, leading to a hardness of about 1870 HV30 and a toughness of about 10.5 MPa√m after densification. The recycled powder can thus totally compete with conventional powders, opening avenues for the recycling of cemented carbide tools. Graphical Abstract

Present investigation was carried out at Dairy Science Laboratory of Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Science, College of Agriculture, Dr. BSKKV., Dapoli (M.S.) to study the Utilization of Arrowroot Powder (Maranta arundinacea L.) in the Preparation of Probiotic Shrikhand. In present study, shrikhand prepared from buffalo milk and Arrowroot powder was used in preparation of Probiotic shrikhand. Shrikhand made with different proportions of Arrowroot powder (5 per cent, 7.5 per cent and 10 per cent) and a fixed sugar level (70 per cent) and using Lactobacillus casei as the probiotic culture. It was found that Probiotic shrikhand made from utilization of Arrowroot Powder at 5% was best in present investigation and it may conclude that Arrowroot Powder can be successfully utilized for preparation of Probiotic shrikhand.

Grain storage plays a pivotal role in ensuring food security and sustaining agriculture for future generations. However, a wide array of insect pests, including the rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae), pose a significant threat to stored grains. This study was conducted at the Laboratory of the Department of Seed Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, from October 2019 to March 2020, to evaluate the efficacy of plant-based powders for managing rice weevils. The experiment was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications and seven treatments. These treatments included five botanical powders—Ocimum tenuiflorum (Tulsi), Azadirachta indica (Neem), Polygonum hydropiper (Biskatali), Nicotiana tabacum (Tobacco), and Lantana camara (Lantana)—applied at three dosage levels: 1 g, 3 g, and 5 g per 100 g of grain. Additionally, a chemical insecticide (Sevin 85 SP @ 0.25%) and an untreated control were included for comparison. Results revealed that neem leaf powder was the most effective, achieving the highest adult insect mortality and the lowest adult emergence. In contrast, Lantana powder exhibited the least efficacy, allowing 94.38% more adult insects to emerge compared to neem powder. Untreated grains experienced a 20% weight loss due to rice weevil infestation after one month of storage, whereas treatment with 5% neem leaf powder reduced weight loss to a mere 0.14%. This reduction was statistically significant compared to all other treatments. These findings suggest that neem leaf powder at 5% is a highly effective, eco-friendly, and safe alternative to chemical insecticides for controlling rice weevils in stored grains.

The study was carried out to evaluate the functional properties of fresh and powdered egg albumin and yolk. The experiment was carried out at Animal Product and Processing lab of the Department of Animal Science, Federal University Dutsinma. Fresh eggs were collect from the Departmental farm. Ten (10eggs) each were weighed and crushed into stainless dish and separated into albumin and yolk for sun drying. After 8 hours of sun drying the crystals were convert into powder form using grinding and sieving techniques. Samples of the powder albumen and yolk were then subjected to functional properties determination. Data collected were analyzed using Statistical Analysis System (SAS) version…2002. The result indicates that there is significant (P<0.05) differences in functional properties of both fresh and powdered Albumin. Egg white (Albumin) fresh had Foaming capacity and Foaming stability values of 20.00% and 9.66% while egg white (Albumin) powdered Foaming capacity and Foaming stability had a lesser values of 11.00 % and 2.33% respectively. The Emulsification capacity (EC) and Emulsification Stability (ES) of Fresh Albumin seems to differ having a lower value (P<0.05) functional properties of 7.00% and 2.66%, while the Emulsification capacity (EC) and Emulsification Stability (ES) of powdered Albumin had higher value (P<0.05) of 35.66% and 4.00%. The purpose of the study is to develop a technology for a bakery product with blackcurrant powder as a frozen semi-finished product. Tasks: development of a recipe for a bakery product with blackcurrant powder for shock freezing; development of technology for the production of a bakery product with blackcurrant powder; assessment of organoleptic and physico-chemical indicators of the quality of the finished product. The objects of study are bakery products, blackcurrant, semi-finished products and finished bakery products with the addition of blackcurrant powder, subjected to shock freezing. The research of bakery products was carried out in laboratory conditions of the department "Technologies of bakery, confectionery and pasta production" of FSBEI HE "Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University" at the Institute of Food Production. In the laboratories of the department, 2 types of bakery products were prepared with the addition of blackcurrant powder and a control sample for comparative evaluation in triplicate. Further studies were carried out on products after the application of shock freezing technology. Black currant powder was used obtained by convection drying, packaged in a sterile container under aseptic conditions. A recipe and technology were developed using shock freezing of a bakery product with blackcurrant powder in order to extend the shelf life of the semi-finished product and facilitate its transportation to the places of preparation of products with an incomplete production cycle without loss of product quality. The quality of the bun was assessed by organoleptic and physico-chemical parameters. In the course of the study, the variant with the addition of 2 % blackcurrant powder was chosen as the best sample, since this sample has the best organoleptic characteristics and corresponds to the physicochemical parameters according to the regulatory documentation. The mass fraction of moisture in the developed product was 39 %, acidity – 2.6 degrees, porosity – 73 %. These indicators are included in the allowable range according to GOST 6649-53.

The experiment was carried out in the Teaching and Research Farm of the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria, to determine the effects of dietary oregano leaf powder on meat quality of broiler meat. The diets were supplemented with oregano leaf powder at 15g/kg, 20g/kg, 25g/kg and 0g/kg (control group), represented as TI, T2, T3 and T4, respectively, dietary oregano leaf powder did not affect muscle pH a* values of broiler meat (P>0.05). However, oregano leaf powder significantly affected b* value, water holding capacity, drip and cooking losses. Higher inclusion level (25g) of oregano leaf powder improves meat quality parameters while supplementation of up to 15g did not affect most of the meat quality parameters. The study recommended 25g inclusion levels of oregano leaf powder due to the positive effects on meat quality parameters of broiler chicken meat. Further studies on the mode of action of oregano leaf powder using different species of poultry on meat quality may be commercially interesting.

An experiment was conducted at the Department of Seed Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, Vellayani to study the influence of organic grain protectants in enhancing storage life of rice seeds. The experiment consists of six treatments with different organic grain protectants viz Arka (Calotropis gigantea) leaf powder, Neem (Azadirachta indica) leaf powder, Pongamia (Pongamia pinnata) leaf powder, Sweet flag (Acorus calamus) rhizome powder, Arappu (Albizia amara) leaf powder and control. All the treatments were effective in control of storage pest and mycoflora infestation without any seed damage and weight loss compared to control with 62.33,16.25 per cent seed damage and weight loss. The treatment T4 [Sweet flag (Acorus calamus) rhizome powder] recorded superior among all treatments, germination percentage (82.00%), germination energy (81.00%), seedling vigour index (1029.20), seedling shoot length (13.03 cm), seedling root length (12.40 cm). However, among all treatments T4 [Sweet flag (Acorus calamus) rhizome powder] recorded least Seed damage percentage, seed weight loss percentage, total number of adult insects and mycoflora infestation compared to control.

The research was conducted in the year 2017 at the Entomology Laboratory of the Department of Crop Protection, Bayero University, Kano to assess fumigation properties of Jatropha curcas L. leaf and seed powders on Callosobruchus subinnotatus (Pic) infesting stored bambara nut, Vigna subterranea (L.) Verdcourt. The study aimed at comparing the effectiveness of the products with conventional chemical insecticide (pirimiphos-methyl 2%). Factorial experiment of 2×2×2 levels (leaf and seed powders at the rates of 0.0, 0.5. 1.0 and 1.5 g, with and without addition of the synthetic chemical at 0.01 g/20 g bambara nut seed) were laid out in a completely randomized design and replicated three times. Fumigant toxicity effect was observed on the emerged insects, though the result was significantly (P< 0.001) lower. In conclusion, appreciable level of protection on bambara nut seeds was achieved using seed powder of J. curcas. Therefore, it is recommended that for effective management of C. subinnotatus infesting bambara nut, farmers could use 1.0 g seed powder on 20 g bambara nut seeds.

Abstract An experiment was conducted in the poultry farm of the Department of Animal Resources-College of Agriculture - University of Kufa for the period from 10/10/2022 to 11/13/2022. The purpose of the study was to test the effect of adding okra fruits powder or seeds to the diet on some productive traits of broiler under Daily temperature stress conditions. 360 unsexed broiler chicks, Rose 308 hybrid, one day old, with an average weight of 37 g/chick were used. The chicks were fed on three diets that are from the age of 1 day-10 days, the second diet from the age of 11 days-24 days, and the third diet from the age of 25 days-35 days. The energy level of the three diets, respectively, was 3015, 3081, 3210 kcol / kg, and the protein level was 23.11, 21.51. 19.58 The one-day old chicks were randomly divided into 6 treatments with 4 replications 15 chicks each. The treatments were T1 the control (standard diet), T2 ration with okra seed powder 5 g/Kg feed, T3 was okra seed powder by 10 g/Kg feed, T4 was with okra fruit powder by 5 g/Kg feed, T5 was okra fruit powder at 10 g/Kg of feed, and T6 ration with 5 g seed powder + 5 g of fruit powder. Findings showed that the okra seeds and fruit powder effectively increased chicks’ body weight, especially when using 10 g/Kg of the seeds powder with the diet, or when using 10 gm of the equal proportion of the fruit powder with the seed powder in the diet. Okra fruit powder was better in weight gain than okra seed powder. On the other hand, the use of a diet fortified with powdered okra fruits and seeds was effective in improving the rate of feed consumption in chicks during the experimental period.

The present investigation was carried out to study the effect of ardu (Ailanthus excelsa) leaf powder feeding on growth performance and economics of feeding in Pantja goats at Goat Unit, Department of Livestock Production Management, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar. The study was conducted on a total of sixteen, 6-8 months old kids, which were randomly divided into four groups (T0- Control, T1- 75% Concentrate + 25% ardu leaf powder, T2- 50% Concentrate + 50% ardu leaf powder and T3- 25% Concentrate + 75% ardu leaf powder). Growth parameters were studied by observation of body weight at different time periods viz. 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 days. The results of the experiment revealed that treatment groups supplemented with ardu leaf powder had significantly (P<0.05) higher body weights than the control group. Maximum body weight during whole experimental period was noted in treatment group supplemented with 75% of ardu leaf powder. All the treatment groups fed with ardu leaf powder showed reduction in feed cost as compared to control with minimum feed cost noted in treatment group fed with 75% of ardu leaf powder.

Laboratory studies were conducted to investigate the repellency effect of six plant species (Azadirachta indica, Caralluma fimbriata, Allium sativum, Curcuma longa, Citrullus colocynthis and Calotropis procera) against Sitophilus zeamais reared on maize grains (Cv. Azam White) in the Laboratory of Entomology Department, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. Six concentrations viz. 5000, 10000, 15000, 20000, 25000 and 30000 ppm of each plant powder were applied to 20 g of sterilized maize grains under constant conditions of 27 ± 1°C and 65 ± 5% relative humidity. Twenty newly emerged adult maize weevil were introduced into glass petri dishes and percent repellency of plant powders was determined. A. indica seed powder at 30,000 concentration showed 100% repellency against maize weevil followed by C. longa (76%) after 72 h exposure period whereas C. procera was found least effective showing only 39% repellency of the test insects compared to control. The powders of A. sativum, C. fimbriata were found moderately repellent against the test insects. During the observations, it was also noted that repellency of the tested plant powders was dose dependent, the higher the concentration of the tested powders, the higher was the repellency and vice versa. The findings of this study indicated that the selected plant products could be used for a safer control of maize weevil.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of Moringa leaf powder (Moringa oleifera L) in the diet on the performance of quail egg production. This research was conducted for 8 weeks at the Commercial Zone Animal Laboratory, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design with 5 treatments with 5 replications and each replication consisted of 5 quails. The treatment given was P0 as a control; P1 ration contained 0.5% commercial feed supplement; P2 ration contained 0.5% Moringa leaf powder; P3 ration contained 1.5% Moringa leaf powder; P4 ration contained 2.5% Moringa leaf powder. The results showed that the Moringa leaf powder in rations up to a level of 2.5% had no significant effect (P0.05) on feed intake, egg weight, egg production, egg mass production, and feed conversion ratio. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the administration of 0.5% Moringa leaf powder could replace commercial feed supplements. The higher levels of Moringa leaf powder administration did not improve egg production performance. The addition of commercial feed supplement in quail rations was not necessary.

The short description of the new approach to the pneumatic powder injection process analysis was presented in the article. The experiments with the high speed camera recording of the two-phase jet in pneumatic powder injection process were carried out in the Department of Foundry, Silesian University of Technology, Poland. The results were briefly analyzed and some interesting conclusions appeared, especially that the real velocity of the injected particles is far less than it is normally calculated with use of the well-known formulas. They were compared with existing literature data as well as with some experimentspreviously made by authors. Powder particles velocity and two-phase jet mass concentration were analyzed as the most important parameters for powder injection process. The results described are part of the complex experimental plan and the next step is computer modeling (just launched) of the jet introducing liquid.

From the experiment it is found that the treatment T8 (70% Guava: 30% Papaya +Safed musli (1.5%) was found best in the terms of Moisture content, Total soluble solid, Ascorbic acid, Acidity %, pH, Color and Appearance, Flavor and Taste, Texture, overall acceptability, shelf life and Benefit Cost ratio.

Background: Azadirachta indica locally known as neem has been claimed to possess antifertility properties by many investigators. Objective: The present study was designed to evaluate the antifertility effect of Azadirachta indica leaf powder in male rats. Methodology: The study was carried out in pharmacology and Therapeutic Department of Dhaka Medical College during the period of January 2008 to December 2008. Total number of 24 rats was divided into 4 groups. Group A was served as control, group B, C and D were treated by Azadirachta indica leaf powder orally, inj. testosterone I/M, & Azadirachta indica leaf powder orally, inj. testosterone I/M respectively for 48 days. They were sacrificed on 49 day. Then morphological and histological study was done. Result: The result showed that the all of the Azadirachta indica leaf powder treated rats has significant antispermatognic effect as well as antiandrogenic effect. Conclusion: The Azadirachta indica leaf powder reduced motility and density of sperm and causes structural changes of leydig cells and seminiferous tubule. The purpose of this research is to find out about the evaluation of using clove leaves powder with different percentages on the physical quality of corngrit that is being stored for two months. This research is done in the Feed Technology and Engineering Laboratory of the animal husbandry department, Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University in the period of September to November 2022. This research consists of 4 treatments and 4 repetition, P0 = 1500g corn grit + 0g clove leaves powder (0%); P1 = 1500g corn grit + 225g clove leaves powder (15%); P2 = 1500g corn grit + 450g clove leaves powder (30%); P3 = 1500g corn grit + 675g clove leaves powder (45%). The variables that are being observed in this research include weight, color, smell, lice, and fungus. The result of the research shows that the addition of 30% and 45% clove leaves powder in 1500g of corn grit gives better results to the physical quality of grit because they suppress lice infestation and fungus growth. The treatments also give distinct fragrant clove leaves, instead of the usual musty odor that appears on the corn grit that has been stored for 2 months.

Thanks to long-term cooperation between the Department of Fire Engineering with Industrial Fire Department ZAHAS in Žiar nad Hronom under the lead of JUDr. Marián Šmida, an exercise for the development of practical skills regarding firefighting equipment was conducted. Students of first-year master's degree studies, students of third-year bachelor's degree studies and three Erasmus programme students from France attended the exercise. During the practical exercise, students acquired knowledge of the equipment of water tender CAS 32 Tatra 815, extinguishing the fire using a powder handheld fire extinguisher, preparation of hoseline, working with a combined nozzle and vehicle-mounted nozzle.

The purpose of the paper is to consideration of the main motivating factors for ensuring high-quality education of engineers to achieve European standards of higher education based on the analysis of the educational process in the fundamental subject of Chemistry among engineering students at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute over three years (2019, 2020, 2021). The article analyzes the principles of the educational process in the university, identifies the advantages and disadvantages of the modern system of engineering education, proposes motivational factors to improve the quality of education and identifies the main approaches to the formation and development of necessary professional competencies of graduates. Methodology. To achieve this goal, theoretical and empirical research methods were used: the method of critical analysis of pedagogical and methodological research papers on the issue; analysis of applicable laws of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and regulations of the education process in the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute; method of scientific observation of the educational process at the Departments were the authors teach subject “Chemistry” (namely, all of departments of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering: Department of Applied Mechanics, Department of Dynamics, Mechanical Engineering and Support Materials , Department of Machine Design, Department of Technology Machine Construction and some of departments of the Institute of Welding and Material Science: Department of Laser Technology, Department of High Temperature Materials and Powder Metallurgy, Department of Welding ). The total number of students who participated in the learning process, the number of attended lectures, consultations, laboratory and practical classes were counted. The percentage of students who successfully passed and passed the course (grade 60% out of 100%), the percentage of students who did not pass the course (grade 60% out of 100%), the percentage of students who regularly and independently completed individual assignments, the percentage of students involved in scientific work, and the ratio of students studying online and offline were determined. Questionnaires were also used for students in these departments regarding motivation to study, examination results, difficulties in learning, and communication with teachers. A total of more than 600 students were surveyed, each of whom gave six sets of answers (2 times for every three years) to the questionnaire. The aim of the article is to analyze the experience of modernization of basic chemical education for students of natural sciences, to identify the motivating factors for improving the quality of education at each level – individual, state, university – and to identify the difficulties and ways to overcome them. Conclusion. Successful engineering and special training in the system of higher technical education should be based on the scientific basis of the corpus of basic natural sciences. Given the relevance of chemistry in today's reality for the creation and implementation of innovative developments and technologies, the relevance of training in environmental and energy management, sustainable development, the relevance of strengthening the chemical component in the educational and professional training programs of bachelors of engineering is obvious.

This study aimed to know the profile and composition of fatty acid consisting of polyunsaturated fatty acid content (PUFA), monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA), and saturated fatty acid (SFA) in selar fish oil (selaroides leptolesis) with various levels of basil powder (Ocimum basilicum)². The research was conducted at the Animal Product Technology Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of Tadulako University. The research using 4 treatments and 3 replications with treatment M0 = 10 ml fish oil + 0% Basil Powder, M1 = 10 ml fish oil + 2% Basil Powder, M2 = 10 ml fish oil + 4% Basil Powder, M3 = 10 ml fish oil + 6% Basil Powder, each treatment repeated 3 times so that there are 12 experimental units. Fatty acid profile analysis using GCMS (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry), conducted in Organic Chemistry Laboratory of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM Jogjakarta. The results of this study showed that 10 ml fish oil with various levels of basil powder added 18 types of fatty acids belonging to polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), and saturated fatty acids (SFA). It can be concluded that the addition of 6% powder of basil can defend SFA and increase MUFA and PUFA.

The efficiency of its seed powder in the control of callosobruschus maculatus (beans weevil) was investigated in the Science Laboratory Department of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State Nigeria. The seed powder was applied at the rate of O control, 15, 25, 50 and 100 (gkg-1). The result obtained shows that piper guineense seed powder at 25gkg-1 to 100gkg-1 were effective in the control of callosobrusus maculatus at 0.01% level of significance. It was revealed that a very strong insecticidal action of I. piper guineense on beans weevil. However, the efficiency of this insecticidal action on callosobruschus maculatus with increasing concentration of the plant material seed powder with 100gkg-1 giving the highest mortality rate, residual action and egg plugs of the weevils. This finding is critical to resource poor farmers in developing countries who will find this trial practicable and affordable. colourkasi hustlers.

The paper presents the results of model experiments with new lance design. The lance was invented in Silesian University of Technology, Department of Foundry. It is dedicated for the pneumatic powder injection into liquid metal bath without lance submersion. The situation like that is common for small molten alloy volume when the problem of temperature decrease is significant. In such case the carrier gas introduction into metal as well as cooling with gas blowing onto metal bath surface should be avoided. The new lance was equipped with four parallel slots made on its outlet and a flange. This design causes the carrier gas evacuation before it reaches the molten metal surface. The article presents the model experiments made with use of the device for the diphase gas-powder jet forces recording. The comparison of two lances: normal steel pipe and this of new design was presented in the article, too.

The experiment was conducted at the Department of Post Harvest Technology, KRC College of Horticulture,Arabhavi, Belagavi district, Karnataka, India during 2020-21 to find out the suitable packaging material for storage ofshatavari root powder in Factorial Completely Randomized Design with two factors (types of roots and packagingmaterials). Different packaging materials viz., aluminium pouch, polyethylene lined aluminium pouch and polypropylenepouch were used for packing of shatavari root powder. Magnesium silicate, an anticaking agent was used at 1.00 and 1.50per cent concentration to avoid the caking of powder and vacuum packaging were also tried for these different packagingmaterials for storage of shatavari root powder without anticaking agent. The minimum moisture content (7.64%), wateractivity (0.550), L value (63.76) was noticed in yellow roots after three months of storage whereas maximum moisturecontent (8.10%), water activity (0.561) and L value (67.68) was observed in white root after three months of storage.Shatavari powder packed in polyethylene lined aluminium (laminated) pouch with vacuum recorded lower moisture content(6.25%), water activity (0.416), a* value (2.72), maximum L value (72.33) and b* value (19.82) followed by polyethylenelined aluminium pouch with 1.5 per cent magnesium silicate. The polyethylene lined aluminium pouch with vacuumcondition or 1.5 per cent magnesium silicate proved better for storage of shatavari root powder.

The almond moth Cadra cautella (Walker) is a notable stored product pest which can cause detrimental loss on stored cocoa. Cocoa can be stored in bean and powder forms. The information about survival and development of C. cautella on stored cocoa is limited. This research aimed to determine the effect of cocoa powder and cocoa bean in the storage against the survival and development of C. cautella. This research was conducted in Plant Pests Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya. This research consisted of two treatments namely cocoa bean and cocoa powder with no choice method and repeated six times. The observed variables were number of larvae, pupae, male and female almond moth of F1 progeny, and developmental time of this insect. The t-test analysis was applied to determine the treatment effect. Results showed that the number of larvae, pupae, adult males and females of F1 progeny cultured on cocoa powder were significantly higher than on cocoa bean. The total developmental time and life cycle of almond moth were shorter on cocoa powder than on cocoa bean. Therefore, to store cocoa in powder form is riskier to the almond moth infestation rather than in bean form. Hence, it is suggested to take more concern on the cocoa powder storage better in order to minimize the almond moth infestation.

The study aimed to evaluate using Roselle flower powder compared to antioxidants [BHT] and its effect on the productive performance of laying hens’. A hundred twelve birds type Lohmann were randomly assigned to seven nutrition treatments with four replicates to each treatment [four birds per replicate]. The diet was based on the recommendations of Lohmann company, and the birds had free access to the diet during the whole experiment. The treatments were assigned as follows: treatment one was the control treatment without any addition, treatment two contained 1 g of Roselle flower powder per kg diet, treatment three contained 1.5 g Roselle flower powder per kg diet, treatment four contained 2 g Roselle flower powder per kg diet, treatment five contained 1 gm Roselle flower powder + BHT per kg diet, treatment six contained 1.5 g Roselle flower powder + BHT per kg diet, treatment seven contained 2 g Roselle flower powder + BHT per kg diet. The result of the study showed a higher significant effect of treatment three on egg production, egg mass, and feed conversion factor compared to the control and treatment four, five, six, and seven. In contrast, there were no differences between the experiment treatments on feed consumption.

An experiment was conducted during January−June of 2019 and 2020 in the laboratory of the Department of Entomology, School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, Dimpaur district, Nagaland, India to evaluate the efficacy of some botanical powders as grain protectants against pulse beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) on ricebean, Vigna umbellata (Thunb.). The experiment was conducted in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 replications. A total of 7 plant materials viz., Azadirachta indica, Piper nigrum, Ocimum tenuiflorum, Eucalyptus globules, Allium sativum, Pongamia pinnata and Litsea citrata were evaluated for their effect on oviposition reduction, adult emergence, infestation and weight loss by C. chinensis. All the plant products were mixed with susceptible ricebean seeds @ 5% w/w, Malathion 5% dust @ 1% w/w was used as standard check and untreated seed was used as control. Among the botanical powder treatments, the highest reduction in oviposition was found in L. citrata followed by A. indica and P. nigrum. The % adult emergence was also lowest in L. citrata treatment (55.23%) compared to the other botanical treatments. L. citrata seed powder also provided effective protection up to 2 months of storage with an infestation of 16.12% and weight loss of 2.40%, respectively followed by P. nigrum seed powder with an infestation of 31.67% and weight loss of 6.93%, respectively. The least effective was found in P. pinnata leaf powder. The findings revealed the potential of L. citrata and P. nigrum as grain protectants against pulse beetle in storage.

The experiment was conducted at the Livestock Production and management unit, Department of N.R.M Faculty of agriculture MGCGV Chitrakoot - Satna M.P. To complete the research work following steps were followed. Freshly hatched, apparently healthy, day old straight run 225 commercial broiler chicks (Cobb strain) were procured on 18thApril, 2022 from Government Poultry Farm, for the present study. Routine, day old vaccinations for (Fl strain) disease were given to the chicks just after hatching. On 14th day all the chicks were vaccinated against Infectious Bursal Disease also. On 2nd day all the chicks were wing banded, individually weighed and randomly divided into 4 treatment groups excluding one that of control. Each group having 45 broiler chicks, was further sub-divided into 3 replicates of 15 chicks. In the group T0 – (Control) basal diet /standard ration ,T1– Feed 1kg + 0.5g Tulsi leaf powder,T2– Feed 1kg + 1.5g Tulsi leaf powder,T3– Feed 1kg + 2.5g Tulsi leaf powder,T4– Feed 1kg + 3.5g Tulsi leaf powder Based on results it was concluded that Tulsi leaf powder has significant effect on the body weights, feed intake, gain in weight and feed efficiency of broilers. Based on feed efficiency best performance of broilers was observed in supplemented with 1.5 per cent Tulsi leaf powder, followed by 0.5 per cent Tulsi leaf powder, followed by 2.5 Tulsi leaf powder for getting good body weight. All treatments were economically better than control.

Screening and testing of isolate of Trichoderma spp. resistant to botanical fungicides on the growth of P. capsici. The research was conducted at the Plant Disease laboratory, Plant Protection Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Lampung University from March – November 2007. The aim of the research was to find isolate of Trichoderma spp. resistant to botanical fungicide which still have its capability to inhibit the growth of P. capsici. Completely randomized design with three replicates was used in the research. Data collected in this research were isolates of Trichoderma spp. resistant to botanical fungicides and inhibition percentage of isolates of Trichoderma spp. resistant to botanical fungicide on the growth of P. capsici. The data were analysed with anova and continued with LSD test at 5% of significant level. As much as 9 isolates of Trichoderma spp. resistant to botanical fungicide were found. Three isolates of T. viride could survive in the 100% of tumeric powder (C), east indian galangale powder (A), and clove leaf powder (B). Two isolates of T. harzianum could survive in the 100% of tumeric powder (A) and clove leaf powder (A). One isolate survived in the 90% of east indian galangale powder (D). Two isolates of T. koningii also could survive in the 100% of tumeric powder (A) and clove leaf powder (A). One isolate survived in the 90% of east indian galangale powder (C). All of the isolates inhibited P. capsici. All of the isolates found statistically had the same capability to inhibit the growth of P. capsici.

Abstract This study was conducted in the poultry field, Department of Animal Production, College of Agriculture, Al-Muthanna University, from 1/7/2020 to 22/9/2020. To determine the effect of date palm powder soaked by vinegar instead wheat in the diet on the blood trait of laying hens. A total of 105 laying hens, ISA Brown, 60 weeks old, were randomly distributed to 5 treatments, with 3 replicates. The treatments were as T1: (control treatment) without date palm powder soaked by vinegar. T2, T3, T4 and T5 date palm powder soaked by vinegar with 25, 50, 75 100% respectively instead wheat in the diet. Results show that a significant differences on some biochemical traits in the plasma of laying hens blood such as triglycerides, while a significant decrease on the concentration of glucose and cholesterol and triglycerides at 72 weeks of age, with a significant increase on calcium and phosphorous in the date palm powder soaked by vinegar treatments instead wheat at the age of 72 weeks.

The present investigation, entitled “Formulation and standardization of Gujarati snack (khakhra) fortified with whole unripe pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) powder” was conducted in the Department of Food Technology, Parul University. The goal of this study was to develop khakhra fortified with whole unripe pumpkin powder. The khakhra was prepared using oats, maize and wheat flour along with developed pumpkin powder. The black pepper, cumin and carom seed powder were used as seasoning. The developed product was examined for various physicochemical attributes, including storage stability and the FT-IR procedure for the identification of functional groups which signify various bioactive compounds. The nutritional composition of khakhra obtained showed the presence of protein, fat, carbohydrates, refibre calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc content as 10.83 per cent, 13.86 per cent, 69.95 per cent, 5.34 per cent, 10.83 mg/100g, 182.65 mg/100g, 5.27 mg/100g and 2.49 mg/100g respectively. The developed khakhra was packed in polyethene and stored for 3 months under refrigeration conditions (4oC) and ambient conditions (18-38oC) storage studies.

The study was conducted at special cages in mud pond, Agricultural Research and Experiment Station, Animal Production Department, Agriculture College, Al-Muthanna University, to study the partial replacement of safflower seed powder by levels of 0, 5, 10 and 15%, in the diets, instead barley and yellow corn, and the effects on the growth and blood parameters of common carp fish. The experiment was designed as four treatments with four replicates for each treatment (five fish/ replicate). The study included the effect of seeds on the histological parameters of carp fish, where the results showed histological examination of the organs of the liver, kidneys and gills, treatments of safflower seed powder fed at 5%, 10%, and 15% improved compared to T1 treatment. We conclude from this study the possibility of adding raw safflower seed powder by 10% to the diets of common carp fish Cyprinus carpio L.

The studies on the efficacy of different plant extracts and insecticide on Red flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) in Wheat, Triticum aestivum were carried out to know the impact of above plant extracts on percent mortality and percent weight loss. The research was carried out at Department of Entomology SHUATS, Prayagraj from September to December in 2022-2023.This experiment was conducted under Complete Randomized Design (CRD).The experiment was conducted on the effect of plant extracts and insecticide on the mortality of adult Tribolium castaneum at 5,10 and 15 days of exposure. The treatments included Neem leaf powder (5 g/100 g), Tulsi leaf powder (1.5 g/100 g), Eucalyptus leaf powder (1.5 g/100 g), Turmeric powder (10g/100 g), Ginger rhizome powder (5 g/100 g), Garlic powder (5 g/100 g), and also included chemical as check Chlorpyriphos 48 EC (2%/100 g). Among the treatments with botanicals the largest number of mortality was observed in Neem leaf powder (65.55%) followed by Eucalyptus leaf powder (55.55%) and least mortality was observed in the turmeric treatment (20%). Experiments conducted on weight loss of wheat grains at 30,60 and 90 days revealed that the maximum weight loss was occurred in turmeric treatment (1.2%) followed by ginger rhizome powder (0.85%) and minimum is recorded in neem leaf powder (0.34%).Therefore, the present laboratory studies clearly showed the efficacy of different plant extracts on red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum(Herbst) were almost effective when compared with chlorpyriphos (Insecticide). Hence it may be concluded that these plant extracts are eco-Friendly, cost effective and easily available. It can easily incorporated to the management of Tribolium castaneum in wheat.

Alternative clinical diagnostic media for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) include Anchovy Sweet Seaweed Medium (TURLM). This media reported has good sensitivity and specificity, as well as growth speed, colony count, and fertility rates for MTB examination. In this study, six different types of clove flower powder were added to the TURLM media (Syzygium aromaticum). The goal of this study was to look at the vegetative shape of MTB bacteria in six different TURLM variations. This study was conducted at Microbiology Laboratory of the Medical Laboratory Technician Department at Politeknik Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan in Mataram, Indonesia. These findings revealed that complete MTB vegetative cells were mostly found in TURLM media with the addition of 0.5 g clove flower powder

Pesticidal effects of different botanicals (like neem, Azadirachta indica; Biskataly, Polygonum hydropiper Linn. karanja, Pongamia pinnata, arjun (Terminalia arjuna ) and tobacco, Nicotina tabacum ) and wood ash were studied for the management of Angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) in stored rice grain at the Department of Entomology, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. For the studies, de-infested rice variety BR-11 was collected from farm store house. The treatments of the studies were: Neem leaf powder @ 10gm / kg of rice grains were mixed with seeds (T1); Biskatali leaf powder @ 10gm/kg of rice grains were mixed with seeds (T2); Karanja leaf powder @ 10gm / kg of rice grains were mixed with seeds (T3); Arjun leaf powder t @ 10gm / kg of rice grains were mixed with seeds (T4); Tobacco leaf powder @ 10gm / kg of rice grains were mixed with seeds (T5); Wood ash @ 10gm / kg of rice grains were mixed with seeds (T6) and Control (T7) and experiment was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four replications. In all generation (1st, 2nd and 3rd generation), the results showed that different botanicals and wood ash had pesticidal effect against angoumois grain moth. Among them tobacco leaf powder showed the highest toxic effect in case of the percent of mortality (100%), percent of adult emerged (0.00%), adult longevity (0.00) and repellency effect (75%) which closely followed by neem leaf powder (T1), whereas biskataly and karanja leaves powder showed lowest and the no repellency rate (0.00) was recorded in T3 and T6 treatment.Bangladesh J. Verdcourt. The study was also aimed at comparing the effectiveness of the leaf powder with conventional chemical insecticide (pirimiphos-methyl). In a 2×2 factorial experiment, the leaf powder and pirimiphos-methyl were admixed with bambara nut seeds. The first factor (leaves) had two (2) levels (0.0 and 0.5 g/20 g seed) while the second factor (pirimipos-methyl) also had two levels, with and without the standard rate of application (0.00 and 0.01 g/20 g). These were laid out in a Completely Randomized Design and repeated three times. Results showed fumigant, repellant and contact effects were best exhibited in seeds treated with the leaf powder admixed at the rate of 0.5g, but was not significantly different from seeds treated with pirimiphos- methyl. In conclusion, appreciable level of protection on bambara nut seeds was achieved using the leaf powder of J. curcas applied at 0.5 g/20 g bambara nut seeds during storage.Keywords: Bioactive, Callosobruchus subinnotatus, bambara nut, Jatropha, fumugant

The utilization of a "multimistura" as food supplement, in nutritional improvement programs for the low-income population in Brazil, represents a low-cost and easy-to-use food preparation alternative, presentig reasonable nutritive value and satisfying local taste preferences. This is based on the fact that the "multimistura" is made up of non-conventional ingredients/foods and of agroindustrial by-products, rich in different nutrients. This paper was designed to determine some toxic and/or antinutritional factors of a "Multimistura" utilized as food supplement in institutional programs to prevent malnutrition by the Department of Welfare and Social Affairs of the City of Natal, RN. The product studied had the following formulation: 30% of wheat bran; 30% of wheat flour; 30% of corn meal; 3% of powder from cassava leaves; 4% of pumpkin seeds powder; and 3% of eggshell powder. The analysis of the main toxic and/or antinutritional factors showed very low concentrations of phytates and tannins and no detectable levels of aflatoxin and cyanic acid.

We evaluated the efficacy and safety of stir-fried white pepper in the treatment of infant and children diarrhea. This was a randomized trial conducted in the pediatric emergency department of the hospital affiliated to Jining Medical College. One hundred seventy four patients were selected from outpatients from 2011 to 2012. Participants were randomly assigned to treatment with stir-fried white pepper (n = 88) or montmorillonite powder (n = 86). The proportions of chronic diarrhea patients (n = 52) showing success of treatment were similar for both groups. There were great differences between the two groups in acute diarrhea (n = 62) and persistent diarrhea (n = 60), and the cure rate of stir-fried white pepper was higher than montmorillonite powder in both groups. The prescription of stir-fried white pepper significantly decreased the frequency of diarrhea in infants and children under 2.5 years with diarrhea compared to treatment with montmorillonite powder, especially for the patients with acute diarrhea or persistent diarrhea.
