Gli studiosi si sono a lungo chiesti perché un'aula absidata e il suo vestibolo adiacente, appartenente al Foro della Pace di Vespasiano, doveva essere stato scelto come sito per la prima chiesa cristiana nel Foro Romano, quella dei Santi Cosma e Damiano, un progetto di Papa Felice IV (526–30). Con questo articolo si suggerisce che uno dei fattori che ha influenzato la scelta può essere stata la precedente presenza in quest'area dei tesori tratti dal Tempio di Gerusalemme, rubati a Roma dai Vandali nel 455. Questa storia puó spiegare l'aggiunta di un candelabro d'oro alla decorazione musiva dell'arco di trionfo — che altrimenti segue l'iconografia di San Paolo fuori le mura —, come pure l'inusuale espressione della dedica scritta.

Abstract Memory narratives, like all fictional narratives, are characterized by variation in narrative pace, resulting from a variety of staging strategies. In memory literature, the change in narrative pace is particularly evident because the representation of memory encourages a variety of narrative pacing strategies – from acceleration to deceleration. A great deal of attention is given to the representation of memory content when reviewing narratology from a memory studies perspective. There is, however, one aspect that is often overlooked, namely the way in which memories themselves determine the pace of the narrative. Memory content not only affects the narrative pace in significant ways but in most cases, the representation of memory also dictates the narrative pace by employing several memory-elicited pace strategies. As part of this paper, we propose a narratological approach that emphasizes narrative pace as the basis for analyzing the memory literature related to transgenerational memory communication. This paper examines the narrative techniques in the the construction of memory-elicited narrative pace. Furthermore, this paper discusses how memory itself takes on different roles based on varying narrative paces and how memory itself can influence narrative pace. The paper uses three memory novels as case studies: Herzklappen von Johnson & Johnson by Valerie Fritsch, Briefe nach Breslau: Meine Geschichte über drei Generation by Maya Lasker-Wallfisch, and Zurück nach Berlin: wie mein Vater mit mir in seine Vergangenheit reiste by Jonathan Lichtenstein. Each of these novels focuses on the transmission of a transgenerational memory of World War II. Using examples from these novels, this paper explains how the suturing of memory content generates the five primary rhythms of narrative movement: ellipsis, summary, stretch, pause, and scene.

The article characterizes the pace of speech as a research category which gives us the ability to analyze both normative and impaired speech. The practical part consists of the description of the research process and the obtained results. It is preceded by the theoretical part which describes the notions of the pace of speech and the pace of utterance and their main components. Special emphasis has been put on the notion of pause. Additionally, selected quantitative and qualitative aspects of speech have been outlined, together with the ways of their analysis which include measuring tools (Audacity software) and statistical tests (Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney, Fisher-Snadecor).

The influence of music heard at different tempos is analyzed during the execution of a dart-throwing task. The sample consisted of 56 female university students (Mean age = 23.38, SD = 6.773). The participants were randomly assigned to GC (group control without music; n = 18), GS (group with slow-paced music at a tempo of 60 BPM; n = 19) and GF (group with fast-paced music at a tempo of 105 BPM; n = 19). All participants performed a dart-throwing task in two phases. Analysis of the scores obtained during Phase 1 and Phase 2 of dart throwing (examining both between-group differences and within-group differences, i.e., changes in scores from Phase 1 to Phase 2 using a mixed factorial ANOVA) revealed no differences in dart-throwing scores. There were, however, differences in execution time, where the participants in GS needed more time to complete the task than those in GF (F(2,55) = 4.426, p = 0.017) with a large effect size (ŋ2p = 0.143), although neither of these groups differed from GC. The results are discussed in terms of the role of music in precision tasks and the synchronization of the task with the pace of the music.

The major semantic feature in the structure of their meaning is movement direction. Specifiers of space location are: route, speed, way of movement, starting point, and destination. THIS STUDY EXAMINED PRODUCTION and synchronization of eight uneven rhythms (set A: 2+3, 3+2; set B: 2+2+3, 2+3+2, 3+2+2; set C: 2+3+3, 3+2+3, 3+3+2) at rates that made it difficult to subdivide the component intervals into elementary metrical pulses. The main questions were how interval ratios would change as a function of tempo within this range, and whether metrical downbeat location (which distinguishes the rhythms within each set) would be reflected in any of the dependent measures. Musically trained participants tapped each rhythm cyclically in synchrony with an auditory template and then continued to tap in three ways: self-paced, paced by a sequence of downbeats, or paced by a rapid stream of isochronous subdivisions. Each task was carried out at eight tempi. The third task assessed the temporal limit of subdivision for these rhythms (about 6 Hz), which was exceeded by most tempi. Results showed that the mean long––short (3:2) interval ratio was already larger than 1.5 at the slowest tempo in rhythm sets A and B, and increased with tempo in sets B and C, but did not approach 2. Uneven rhythms thus can be produced without mental subdivision, but only with substantial enhancement of the contrast between long and short intervals. Metrical downbeat location had no reliable effect on interval ratios but was reflected in more forceful downbeat taps and in different alignments of taps with a pacing sequence. In general, effects of temporal grouping (between rhythm sets) outweighed those of metrical interpretation (within rhythm sets).

In the finance crisis years, The State Public Debt (domestic and foreign) is one of economic category elements which are influenced by market as well as economic politics. A low standardization degree of the public debt in statistics produced by IMF as well as Eurostat is an obstacle to conduct judicious politics of the public debt value shaping. The article presents projection which shows that a gradually abatement of debt can insignificantly reduce pace of the national income increase in the first years of the debt abatement. The pace of the national income increase can be bigger in the next years because the debt value will decrease.

Abstract: Why do some novels have a fast pace and others slow? Pace in narrative gauges the movement of a story in a specific direction with respect to time. Dialogue, descriptive summaries, chapter breaks, and other formal elements speed up or slow down the perceived tempo of a narrative. In Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy , John le Carré creates pace by exploiting the discrepancies between fabula and syuzhet . By his own admission, he prefers to begin a story as late as possible to induce pressure between the content of a story and the manner of its telling, a pressure that sets and regulates narrative pace.

Pace and pacing, categories that are relatively new to social sciences, form a starting point for the discussion. Building upon ethnographies of primarily European and North American communities, contributors discuss ways in which people practice, experience and reflect upon their movements, informed by ideas of a satisfying or a desired pace of life. Pace and pacing become a common denominator for a wide range of subjects and cases, promising to make up a useful focus in future anthropological projects. Although many molecular mechanisms controlling developmental processes are evolutionarily conserved, the speed at which the embryo develops can vary substantially between species. For example, the same genetic program, comprising sequential changes in transcriptional states, governs the differentiation of motor neurons in mouse and human, but the tempo at which it operates differs between species. Using in vitro directed differentiation of embryonic stem cells to motor neurons, we show that the program runs more than twice as fast in mouse as in human. This is not due to differences in signaling, nor the genomic sequence of genes or their regulatory elements. Instead, there is an approximately two-fold increase in protein stability and cell cycle duration in human cells compared with mouse cells. This can account for the slower pace of human development and suggests that differences in protein turnover play a role in interspecies differences in developmental tempo.

Esiste una connessione tra l’etica della pace e la bioetica? Lo scritto, muovendo da questo interrogativo, analizza dapprima le problematiche che coinvolgono strettamente tanto l’etica della pace quanto la bioetica. Lungo tre direttrici fondamentali che contemplano il rispetto dei diritti umani fondamentali, la giustizia sociale globale e lo sfruttamento della natura, si sono voluti evidenziare non soltanto le grandi sfide e i pericoli per l’attuazione della pace nel nostro tempo, ma anche la sfida e l’impegno concreto per la bioetica. Bioetica che, dal canto suo, come etica della vita e per la vita e come disciplina in dialogo con diversi saperi interessati al problema della vita umana e della biosfera, può dare un oggettivo contributo nel delineare delle coordinate etiche che possano permettere o quanto meno coadiuvare e corroborare il recupero di valori fondamentali per garantire la pace, il ripristino delle condizioni di dialogo per la pace, laddove siano state smarrite, la prevenzione della guerra, la efficace attività di educazione degli animi alla solidarietà, che porta a riconoscere l’altro come un altro me stesso pur nelle fenomeniche diversità. In tale direzione si è inteso analizzare come in particolare la bioetica personalista, basata su una fondata ontologia e specifica antropologia, possa, lontano da gratuite ingenuità e paralizzanti scetticismi, aiutare a costruire una “cultura di pace”, ponendo proprio alla sua base la centralità del valore della vita ed il bene integrale della persona. Nell’ultima sezione del lavoro si è volta poi l’attenzione a delineare quali possano essere i punti di contatto e di confronto tra l’etica della pace e l’etica medica, essendo il confine tra le due aree non invalicabile, anzi quanto mai, almeno per certi aspetti, sovrapponibile ed intersecabile. Si è posto l’accento su come l’etica medica in particolare e la bioetica possano essere strumenti di promozione alla pace, ovvero come il medico, il bioingegnere siano per loro intrinseca natura per la pace, proprio in virtù del fatto che sono anzitutto uomini di scienza a servizio dell’uomo stesso. Infine si è evidenziato come la medicina possa contribuire non soltanto alla costruzione della pace, soprattutto sul piano della prevenzione, ad esempio riguardo alle situazioni di guerra e di soccorso in caso di catastrofe e nel negare l’uso della stessa scienza medica per scopi sbagliati e abusi delle conoscenze, ma anche nell’ottica di un nuovo “giuramento” che vada oltre quello ippocratico, che tuteli tanto l’uomo sano quanto quello malato, nella più ampia prospettiva non soltanto di riumanizzare tutto il sistema sanitario, ma di garantire una reale giustizia sanitaria: entrambi punti nodali per la costruzione di una trama sociale egalitaria e pacifica.

Resumo Este estudo avaliou o impacto do tempo de adesão ao termo de compromisso de gestão (TCG), no âmbito do programa Pacto pela Saúde, sobre o nível de eficácia da política municipal de atenção básica, no período de 2008 a 2012. O TCG objetivou aprimorar a governança de política de saúde pelos entes federados, com especial atenção à gestão por resultados. O programa vigorou no Brasil entre 2006 e 2012, tendo recebido a adesão de 4.587 municípios (80% do total). Esta pesquisa buscou responder à seguinte questão: “qual foi o efeito causal do tempo de participação (em anos) no programa Pacto pela Saúde sobre o nível da eficácia da política local de atenção básica, para os municípios participantes?”. Para tanto, adotou-se um desenho de pesquisa quase experimental, mediante estimação de um modelo de dose-resposta com escore de propensão generalizado. Estimou-se, via análise de componentes principais, um indicador de eficácia da política de atenção básica (IDEAB), tendo como referência as metas preconizadas pelo programa. Os resultados da estimação da função de dose-resposta evidenciaram que o tempo de adesão ao Pacto pela Saúde teve impacto positivo e estatisticamente significativo sobre o nível de eficácia das políticas de atenção básica nos municípios participantes. Para cada ano adicional de permanência da política, o IDEAB aumentou, em média, entre 0,011 e 0,019 unidades. Portanto, os resultados sugerem que as metas importam para a governança de política de saúde municipal brasileira.

Two studies were conducted to evaluate the effect of music tempo on task performance. In Study 1, 44 undergraduate business students were asked to be “workers” in a stock market project by collecting closing stock prices and calculating the percentage of change in the price from week to week. Subjects were randomly divided into groups such that they either listened to fast-paced music while they worked, to slow-paced music, or to no music. Analyses of variance and covariance were conducted on both the quantity and quality of the subjects' work, using music listening habits as a covariate. There were no differences in either the quantity or quality of the work produced by the groups. There were some methodological concerns regarding Study 1, so a second study was conducted. The 70 undergraduate business students in Study 2 completed the same task under the same music conditions as in Study 1. Analyses of variance indicated women performed significantly better than men, performance was significantly higher in the rock condition than in the heartbeat condition, and subjects in the rock condition had a significantly higher perceived level of distraction by the music.

The purpose of this study was to establish what effect music has on students PACER test performance as well as their enjoyment of the test and perceived workload. Subjects were 72 boys and girls, age 9–11. Subjects completed the 20 meter multi-stage (progressive) cardiovascular fitness test known as the Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run (PACER) on three consecutive regularly scheduled class periods. At the conclusion of each test, students filled out a SelfRated Performance survey answering a number of questions about their perceived enjoyment as well as performance level. Each time the test was performed a different version was used, including a mild tempo, a higher tempo music as well as one with no music at all. Results indicated that the fewest participants regardless of gender attained their best score with the non-music version of the test [boys=8 (22%) and girls = 9 (28%]. The boys scored their highest scores on the mild tempo (n=17; 46%) while girls scored highest with the high tempo (n=13; 41%). When comparing test results to SRP scores, significant differences between each of the music versions compared to the non-music version existed (for no music versus mild, P=0.031; for no music versus faster, P=0.025). To conclude, students perform better cardiovascular when music is present. Boys perform better with milder tempo music while girls perform better on the higher tempo. Boys and girls also both enjoy the test more and perceive themselves to have worked harder when music is present as opposed when it is not.

In recent years, peace education has become an urgent, crucial topic, which cannot be postponed, given the growing complexity of global challenges and international tensions. This type of education aims to promote understanding of others, tolerance, cooperation and non-violence as fundamental principles for addressing conflicts and building a more peaceful and fair society. This article intends to contribute to the debate on peace education practices, highlighting the contribution that sport and physical education can make, from a holistic and integrated perspective. Thanks to some reflections on the relationship between sport, education, politics and society, we will try to outline some perspectives of playful-motor and sports education useful for building peace in times of war, like the ones we are experiencing. Educazione ludico-motoria e sportiva per la pace in tempi di guerra. Esperienze dal passato, riflessioni sul presente. Negli ultimi anni, l’educazione alla pace è diventata un tema urgente, cruciale e indifferibile, data la crescente complessità delle sfide globali e delle tensioni internazionali. Questo tipo di educazione mira a promuovere la comprensione dell’altro, la tolleranza, la cooperazione e la non violenza come principi fondamentali per affrontare i conflitti e costruire una società più pacifica e giusta. Il presente articolo intende contribuire al dibattito sulle pratiche di educazione alla pace, evidenziando il contributo che lo sport e l’educazione motoria possono apportare, in un’ottica olistica e integrata. Regulation of the rhythmic movement of 29 preschoolers ages 3 to 6 years was studied in connection with self-paced response. An Auditory Pulse condition presented the pulse audibly, a Visual Pulse condition presented the pulse visibly, and a Moving Visual Target condition presented the repetitive movement of a visual target. We used a Quick Tempo condition in which the interstimulus interval was slightly different from the average self-paced tapping rate at which each subject felt comfortable, and a Slow Tempo in which the interval was considerably different. The error in the interresponse interval of tapping, i.e., the time gap between the mean interresponse and interstimulus intervals, was calculated as an indicator of regulation. The error in the former decreased across age groups only in the Slow Tempo condition. In the Slow-Tempo Visual-Pulse condition in which the error in the interresponse interval was particularly large, the younger subjects tended to respond at a rate near the self-paced response. In both tempos, the error in the interresponse interval in the Moving Visual Target condition was much the same as in the Auditory Pulse condition and was statistically smaller than in the Visual Pulse condition. These results may suggest that one of the important factors in the development of preschoolers' synchronization with physical rhythm is an ability to modify or restrain the self-paced response and that additional information from movement of the visual target could assist them externally in regulating movement.

There is a growing need to accurately assess exercise energy expenditure (EEE) in athletic populations that may be at risk for health disorders because of an imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure. The Actiheart combines heart rate and uniaxial accelerometry to estimate energy expenditure above rest. The authors’ purpose was to determine the utility of the Actiheart for predicting EEE in female adolescent runners (N = 39, age 15.7 ± 1.1 yr). EEE was measured by indirect calorimetry and predicted by the Actiheart during three 8-min stages of treadmill running at individualized velocities corresponding to each runner’s training, including recovery, tempo, and 5-km-race pace. Repeated-measures ANOVA with Bonferroni post hoc comparisons across the 3 running stages indicated that the Actiheart was sensitive to changes in intensity (p < .01), but accelerometer output tended to plateau at race pace. Pairwise comparisons of the mean difference between Actiheart- and criterion-measured EEE yielded values of 0.0436, 0.0539, and 0.0753 kcal · kg−1 · min−1 during recovery, tempo, and race pace, respectively (p < .0001). Bland–Altman plots indicated that the Actiheart consistently underestimated EEE except in 1 runner’s recovery bout. A linear mixed-model regression analysis with height as a covariate provided an improved EEE prediction model, with the overall standard error of the estimate for the 3 speeds reduced to 0.0101 kcal · kg−1 · min−1. Using the manufacturer’s equation that combines heart rate and uniaxial motion, the Actiheart may have limited use in accurately assessing EEE, and therefore energy availability, in young, female competitive runners.

The main aim of this paper is to study the tempo effect in fertility (B-F0 procedure and parity progression-based techniques have been used to check the tempo effects in fertility schedules. B-F procedure has been modified by smoothing annual change in mean age at childbearing over time. Data are taken from NFHS 1996. These techniques yielded a consistent tempo free period TFR for Nepal. These were found to be suitable for adjusting period fertility, especially when fertility is subject to fluctuating tempo effects. It was also found that the tempo effect amounted to be 0.4 births per women in 1991 whereas it was 0.3 birth per women in 1994. Women are likely to delay their childbearing, which implies that observed fertility is lower than it would have been without tempo changes. This study investigated if music tempo can prompt a desired walking cadence, and if music can provide a stimulus to regulate physical activity intensity in a longitudinal physical activity intervention with free-living adults. Overweight adults (n = 37; 94.26 ± 17.11 kg; 49.63 ± 12.37 years) were randomly assigned to an intervention (IG, n = 17) or usual care group (UC, n = 20) as part of a novel nine-month walking intervention. IG participants walked to self-selected music with a predetermined tempo and received a behavioural change support programme. At baseline, four-, six- and nine-months participants were asked to walk around an elliptical track at their habitual pace (0–2 min) and then in time to a predetermined tempo (2–8 min) designed to elicit moderate intensity. Cadence response (steps/min) was assessed and intensity (heart rate (bpm) recorded using wireless telemetry. A repeated measures general linear model (GLM) examined differences between groups over time (p < 0.05). All data is presented as means ± SD. At each assessment point both groups displayed an immediate cadence adjustment in response to music tempo (p < 0.01) i.e., habitual cadence vs. 3 METs target cadence (p < 0.05) and 3 METs target cadence vs. 5 METs target cadence (p < 0.05). Additionally, IG participants displayed an increased habitual cadence (0–2 min) at each assessment point (p < 0.05; 110 ± 9, 121.80 ± 7.5, 121.46 ± 10, 121.93 ± 7 steps/min respectively). UC participant’s habitual cadence was unchanged from 0–9 months (p > 0.05; 120 ± 10, 116 ± 13, 119 ± 12 and 119 ± 9 steps/min respectively). Music tempo may be a useful regulatory tool to prompt the free-living individual to reach an appropriate stride rate to achieve a walking pace that is at least moderate intensity. It also appears that results may be trainable as throughout the study an increased habitual walking cadence was observed, in the absence of music.

Se analizziamo il sistema annonario di Ragusa secondo il tempo, il luogo e le circostanze - seguendo le suggestioni di Ferdinando Galiani contenute nei suoi Dialogues sur le commerce des blés - ecco che ci appare come una realtŕ molto diversa all'interno del contesto mediterraneo in etŕ moderna. Una diversitŕ fondata principalmente sul rapporto privilegiato con l'Impero Ottomano, un rapporto che per la Repubblica di San Biagio significava pace, sicurezza e privilegi commerciali, che le garantiva un margine di manovra inimmaginabile, soprattutto se misurato dal punto di vista delle sue dimensioni politiche e territoriali. Tutto questo ha consentito la creazione di un sistema annonario - che faceva del controllo dei prezzi e dell'offerta il suo punto di forza - difficilmente comparabile con le altre realtŕ mediterranee ma che, allo stesso tempo, rende quelle realtŕ piů intelligibili attraverso la propria «peculiaritŕ».

ABSTRACTThis study investigated subgroup and task specificity of self-paced timing in children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). Self-paced tempo (intertap interval) and timing stability (coefficient of variation) were measured in three repetitive tasks—hand tapping, foot tapping, and jumping in place—in 37 children aged 6 to 9 years classified into gross motor impaired (GM), fine and gross motor impaired (F&G), or coordinated control (CC) groups. Results showed that, although tempo did not vary between coordination groups, timing stability for the hand was significantly worse for the F&G motor impaired group (p < .05). Discriminant function analysis correctly classified 75% of CC, 67% of F&G, and 67% of GM children. Although timing inconsistency of hand tapping identified a coordination subgroup, these tasks provide only moderate prediction of group membership.

Attingendo e contribuendo alla letteratura sulla accelerazione sociale, agli studi organizzativi sul job crafting e alla più recenti ricerche sui coworking, l'articolo indaga le forme di time crafting attivate dai mobile workers che frequen-tano gli spazi di coworking. I risultati riportati si basano su una ricerca empirica qualitativa esplorativa che ha coinvolto 126 frequentatori di 39 spazi di coworking nella Regione Emilia-Romagna. L'evidenza empirica suggerisce che i coworkers attivano due forme di time crafting per strutturare e gestire il loro tempo e la rela-zione tra il loro tempo di lavoro e di non lavoro: il time boundaries crafting e il re-lational time crafting. La prima forma si riferisce fondamentalmente a tutte quel-le azioni volte a separare o sovrapporre tempo di lavoro e tempo di non lavoro che vengono favorite dalla frequentazione dello spazio di coworking. La seconda for-ma include quelle azioni volte a concentrare all'interno dello spazio di coworking tutto il tempo dedicato alle relazioni professionali e a ritualizzare le relazioni extra-lavorative che si sviluppano spontaneamente nel coworking. In entrambe le forme di time crafting, lo spazio di coworking gioca un ruolo rilevante fornendo ai mobili workers che lo frequentano artefatti fisici, servizi e risorse immateriali (fondamen-talmente il senso di comunità) che li supportano nelle loro azioni volte a strutture e gestire la collocazione temporale (timing), l'estensione nel tempo (length) e l'intensità (intensity, pace) delle loro attività lavorative e non lavorative.

Indomaret adalah sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang ritail dengan konsep minimarket. Dalam minimarket produk yang dijual mempunyai banyak variant produk yang dijual di dalamnya, dari produk-produk yang dijual pastinya ada stok barang yang harus dijaga dan diperhatikan dengan baik agar selalu tersedia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan order yang optimal dengan menerapkan metode Eoq model lagrange multiplier untuk pengendalian persediaan bahan baku fried chicken dengan kendala tempat penyimpanan dan budget. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dengan pendekatan metode EOQ model lagrange multiplier mampu menghasilkan order yang optimal tidak melebihi batasan bedget maupun penyimpnan. Nilai untuk sekali order sebanyak 227 pack dengan biaya sebesar Rp 12.483.000 dan sudah mempertimbangkan nilai safety stock sebanyak 53 yang sebelumnya di toko Indomaret Raya Ambeng-ambeng belum ada. perhitungan EOQ model lagrange multiplier dapat memberikan efisiensi inventory cost sebesar Rp 3.609.955/tahun. Diketahui ukuran ROP untuk bagian dada 272, bagian paha atas 135, bagian sayap 135 dan bagian paha bawah 135. Produced by the intervention of the social service, by decree of a court, entry into a residential community for minors is a traumatic event in the life of a boy. The community itself is a pre-established system, made up of rules and spaces, established times and activities, and of intense relationships with professionals. None of this is the result of a decision, of a participation, of a subjectification on the part, first of all, of the subject of education who is the boy himself. The institutional task risks being limited to protection rather than triggering a path of inclusion and development: paradoxically, the time and space of socio-educational intervention can become an experience of deeper exclusion and stagnation. What educational conditions, therefore, can initiate and help processes of effective inclusion? The article proposes a specific pedagogical tool, the educational pact as an educational experience of subjectivation and inclusion of the child. Verso significati condivisi. La co-costruzione del patto educativo come processo inclusivo: una esperienza di campo. Prodotto dall’intervento del servizio sociale, per decreto di un tribunale, l’ingresso in una comunità residenziale per minori è un evento traumatico nella vita di un ragazzo – inteso come segmento sociale costituito da maschi di età 11–21. La comunità stessa è un sistema precostituito, fatta di regole e spazi, tempi e attività stabilite, e di rapporti intensi con professionisti. Niente di tutto questo è l’esito di una decisione, di una partecipazione, di una soggettivazione da parte, innanzitutto, del soggetto dell’educazione che è il ragazzo stesso. Untuk bisa mengetahui keberadaan ritme editing sebuah film sangatlah mudah. Kita cukup dengan sadar menyimak pergantian gambar yang terjadi akibat cutting. Selanjutnya kita akan menyimpulkan tentang irama serta tempo film sebagai cepat atau lambat dimana kemudian disebut sebagai pace, berdasarkan sebuah pola. Tapi apakah ritme dan pace film hanya terbentuk melalui apa yang disebutkan sebelumnya? Juga apakah ritme editing keberadaannya hanya untuk sekedar membuat irama tanpa arah dan fungsi? Jawabannya adalah tidak. Keberadaan ritme editing film tidak boleh seperti itu karena dia harus bersinergi dengan naratif filmya. Jadi jika naratif memiliki elemen yang ditata maka ritme editing filmnya juga harus mengusahakan tatanan dari faktor ritmenya mejadi bentuk yang tepat. Karena arahan bentuk ritme yang salah dari editing akan fatal dampaknya bagi film. Respon negatif bisa bermunculan mengenai film yang membosankan karena terasa lambat atau bikin pusing karena terlalu cepat ritmenya. Lalu bagaimana cara mengetahui bahwa ritme yang dibentuk melalui editing sudah tepat? Apalagi jika tatanan elemen naratif film mengarah ke genre tertentu yang pasti mengerucut jadi sebuah konvensi. Tentu cepat atau lambatnya film, baik di adegan tertentu juga keseluruhan film akan memperhatikan beberapa hal terlebih dahulu sebelum dibentuk. Tulisan ini berusaha mengetahui apakah faktor ritme film yang diolah dalam sebuah film memiliki bentuk yang tepat sehingga mendukung bertemunya konvensi dengan harapan atau mood yang ingin dimunculkan dari sebuah film. This contribution focuses on the role of new-build gentrification in the socio-spatial re-differentiation of shrinking second-tier post-socialist cities in Germany and Poland, countries that differ in terms of the pace and character of post-socialist transition. Our main goal is to compare and contrast the unfolding of new-build gentrification in different post-socialist settings with the examples of new-build gentrification known from international studies that mostly cover “Western” cities. One of the main findings of our study is that the tempo and scale of new-build gentrification is sensitive to the pace of post-socialist transformations and to institutional contexts. Regarding the international debate on newbuild gentrification, our findings from Łódź and Leipzig highlight a rather distinctive mode of the process. Despite the undeniable similarities with the spatial patterns detected by previous studies illustrating the “Western” contexts, the new-build gentrification detected in our case cities points to different economic roots as well as specific social consequences. Irrespective of identified differences between Leipzig and Łódź, the new-build gentrification appears to be economically independent from the former (other) forms of gentrification and its dynamics.

Rates of phenotypic evolution are central to many issues in paleontology, but traditional rate metrics such as darwins or haldanes are seldom used because of their strong dependence on interval length. In this paper, I argue that rates are usefully thought of as model parameters that relate magnitudes of evolutionary divergence to elapsed time. Starting with models of directional evolution, random walks, and stasis, I derive for each a reasonable rate metric. These metrics can be linked to existing approaches in evolutionary biology, and simulations show that they can be estimated accurately at any temporal resolution via maximum likelihood, but only when that metric's underlying model is true.The estimation of generational rates of a random walk under realistic paleontological conditions is compared with simulations to that of a prominent alternative approach, Gingerich's LRI (log-rate, log-interval) method. Generational rates are estimated poorly by LRI; they often reflect sampling error more than the actual pace of change. Further simulations show that under some realistic conditions, it is simply not possible to infer generational rates from coarsely sampled populations.These modeling results indicate a complex dependence between evolutionary mode and the measurement of evolutionary rates, and that there is unlikely to be a rate metric that works well for all traits and time scales. Compilations of paleontological and phylogenetic data indicate that all of the three rate metrics derived here show some relationship with interval length. Although there is no perfect rate metric, at present the most practical choices derive from the parameters of the stasis and random walk models. The latter, called the step variance, is particularly promising as a rate metric in paleontology and comparative biology.

Проведена графическая регистрация произвольных ритмических движений пальцев и кистей рук у девочек, обучающихся игре на клавишных инструментах, с последующим анализом их количественных характеристик. Выявлены более высокие скоростные качества обеих рук пианисток при выполнении программированных движений по сравнению с испытуемыми контрольной группы. Установленная низкая внутри и межгрупповая дисперсность длительности двигательных циклов при воспроизведении пианистами максимального темпа пальцами, а также выраженная правосторонняя моторная асимметрия рук, рассматривается как результат влияния музыкальных нагрузок. Предлагаемые методики определения лабильности и согласованности ритмических движений дистальных звеньев кинематической цепи рук могут быть использованы для оценки профессиональной подготовленности пианистов. Graphic registration of arbitrary rhythmic movements of fingers and hands in girls learning to play keyboard instruments was carried out, followed by analysis of their quantitative characteristics. Higher speed qualities of both hands of pianists at performance of the programmed movements in comparison with subjects of control group are revealed. The established low internal and intergroup dispersion of duration of motor cycles at reproduction by pianists of the maximum tempo with fingers, and also the expressed right-hand motor asymmetry of hands, is considered as result of influence of musical loadings. The proposed methods for determining the lability and consistency of rhythmic movements of the distal members of the kinematic chain of the hands can be used to assess the professional training of pianists

Ci aiutano anche a dare un senso profondo ai dibattiti che hanno "infiammato" la scena politica e l'opinione pubblica italiana negli ultimi tempi.

Il presente saggio si propone di analizzare stilisticamente e tematicamente le opere di Francesco Pecoraro, prestando particolare attenzione ai romanzi La vita in tempo di pace e Lo stradone. Mediante una close reading comparativa volta a porre in dialogo reciproco i due romanzi e i racconti raccolti nel volume Camere e stanze, l’obiettivo principale è quello, da un lato, di indagare i processi formali e compositivi mediante cui Pecoraro rielabora il genere del romanzo-saggio e lo declina secondo peculiari risoluzioni inventive; dall’altro, di illuminare le risorse espressive e le operazioni narrative attraverso cui la soggettività dei suoi personaggi entra in tensione dialettica con la realtà e lo spazio urbano circostanti.
