Étude d'histoire des épidémies : la suette, la peste, la variole et la dysenterie dans le nord de la France, 1348-1790. Cette étude a pour objet la présentation et l'analyse, dans le nord de la France, de quatre maladies épidémiques : la suette, la peste, la variole et la dysenterie. L'angle principal d'étude est celui de l'épidémiologie : la symptomatologie, la dynamique et le bilan humain (morbidité, mortalité et létalité) des attaques épidémiques. Chaque maladie fait d'abord l'objet d'une étude particulière et indépendante, dans le cadre spatio-temporel du nord de la France entre 1348 et 1790. Une seconde partie reprend ensuite chaque élément afin d'étudier de manière synthétique l'ensemble des résultats. Les buts fixés à ce travail sont multiples : combler un vide historiographique puisqu'à notre connaissance jamais aucun travail portant sur les épidémies à l'époque moderne n'a été tenté ni publié, parvenir à une meilleure connaissance des caractéristiques épidémiologiques de chaque maladie, établir une ébauche de pathocénose épidémique qui demanderait à être complétée par l'étude des autres maladies sévissant dans notre aire spatio-temporelle
A study of the history of epidemics: the sweating sickness, the plague, smallpox and dysentery in northern France, 1348-1790. The purpose of this study is to present and analyze four epidemic diseases in the north of France: sweating sickness, plague, smallpox and dysentery. The main angle of study is that of epidemiology: the symptomatology, the dynamics and the human toll (morbidity, mortality and lethality) of epidemic attacks. Each disease is first the subject of a particular and independent study, in the spatio-temporal framework of northern France between 1348 and 1790. A second part then takes up each element in order to study all the results in a synthetic way. The aims of this work are multiple: to fill a historiographic void since, to our knowledge, no work on epidemics in the modern era has ever been attempted or published, to achieve a better knowledge of the epidemiological characteristics of each disease, to establish a draft of epidemic pathogenesis which would need to be completed by the study of other diseases raging in our spatio-temporal area

La tesis parte de una hipótesis consistente en que la suerte afecta los juicios normativos acerca la atribución de responsabilidad penal. Esta intervención de la suerte origina que la responsabilidad penal sea parcialmente determinada por factores que el agente no puede controlar y que no le pertenecen a su ámbito de dominio. En busca de un mejor comprensión del problema general de la suerte y el concepto de responsabilidad, se analiza la suerte en la moral, en la psicología social y en la epistemología. La teoría del delito tiene entre sus funciones la de evitar que la suerte sea fundamento de la responsabilidad penal. Por ello, el objetivo de la tesis es determinar cómo debe ser eliminada o neutralizada a fin de evitar la distorsión que la suerte penal implica.
The Thesis starts with a hypothesis about how luck affects the normative judgments and the attribution of responsibility in criminal law. The intervention of luck results in responsibility being partially determined by factors which are beyond the agent´s domination and control For a better understanding of the general problems concerning luck and responsibility, the treatment of luck in the field of moral, social psychology and epistemology is analyzed. The criminal law theory has a function, among others, that consists in preventing luck from being a basis for the attribution of criminal responsibility. Therefore, the purpose of the thesis is to establish how to eliminate or neutralize luck, to prevent the distortion that it implies.

Este estudo teve por objetivo descrever a variação quali-quantitativa da microflora planctônica e bentônica em escala espaço-temporal, e identificar quais os principais fatores relacionados com as variações observadas no lado nordeste da ilha de Fernando de Noronha (PE). As coletas foram realizadas em maré de sizígia em três pontos fixos, durante o período chuvoso (março, maio e julho/2010) e de estiagem (setembro e novembro/2010; fevereiro/2011). Foram identificados 95 taxa para o fitoplâncton e 52 taxa para o microfitobentos. Apesar das diatomáceas terem sido o grupo com maior riqueza, as cianobactérias e dinoflagelados também estiveram representados com a dominância de Oscillatoria sp, Lepocinclis salina, Prorocentrum lima e pequenas diatomáceas (Bacillariophyceae) no fitoplâncton, e Aphanothece sp, Arthospira spirulinoides, Synechococcus sp, Bellerochea malleus e Navicula spp e cianobactérias (Chrorococcales) no microfitobentos. A diversidade específica na área é baixa a muito baixa, com aumento período chuvoso no P1 (fitoplâncton) e período de estiagem no P2 (microfitobentos). A estrutura das microalgas é afetada pelas variáveis ambientais (pluviometria, teores de salinidade, oxigênio dissolvido, taxa de saturação de oxigênio, pH e sais nutrientes), apontados como os fatores importantes nos ambientes (praia e laguna da Baía de Sueste) na ilha de Fernando de Noronha, Pernambuco.

Esta tesis se ocupa del llamado fenómeno de la suerte moral. Si algo nos parece especialmente amenazante en relación a nuestra meta de ser equitativos al tratar a los demás, o en nuestro deseo de vivir en un mundo justo, esto parece ser la suerte. Es innegable que la suerte interviene en nuestras vidas de maneras muy diversas, hasta el punto de que no es fácil imaginar un mundo sin la suerte. Sin embargo, tendemos a negar que esos factores puedan marcar una diferencia moral. La cuestión de la suerte moral se plantea a resultas de la tensión entre la creencia de que no podemos censurar o elogiar a alguien por cosas que están más allá de su control, y la que parece ser nuestra práctica habitual de juzgarnos de modo diverso teniendo en cuenta factores que escapan a nuestro control. La discrepancia principal, que define el debate, es acerca de la existencia misma del fenómeno de la suerte moral: ¿es la suerte moral un fenómeno real o se trata más bien de una mera apariencia? En todo caso, esta pregunta es más difícil de responder si cabe, dada la posibilidad de que existan diferentes tipos de suerte moral: consecuencial, circunstancial, formativa y constitutiva. La tesis constituye una defensa de la realidad del fenómeno de la suerte moral, negando que éste constituya una paradoja real. En particular, el principal objetivo es rebatir los argumentos de los negadores de la suerte moral, defendiendo que la suerte necesariamente interfiere en nuestra agencia moral, de modo que resulta imposible inmunizar las atribuciones de responsabilidad moral de la suerte. De esta manera, acabo proponiendo una alternativa al Principio de Control, que llamo Jurisdicción. Por otro lado, apelo también a importantes consideraciones normativas que hacen preferible un mundo con suerte moral que uno sin ella. La tesis se divide en tres partes. La primera parte está dedicada a explicar, con exactitud, qué es eso de la suerte moral. Para ello presento y discuto las caracterizaciones tanto de Bernard Williams como de Thomas Nagel, comento los ejemplos típicos y explico los tipos principales de suerte moral, proponiendo una clasificación en cuatro tipos parcialmente diferente (más exacta), que la inicialmente propuesta por Nagel. En la segunda parte es donde reconstruyo y, a la vez, trato de rechazar los principales argumentos contra la suerte moral. En cada capítulo de esta parte sigo el mismo método: empiezo reconstruyendo los mejores argumentos contra la suerte moral en general (cap. 3) o contra el tipo particular de suerte moral en cuestión (caps. del 4 al 7), para, a continuación, rechazarlos. Es la parte más extensa y también más fundamental para mi argumentación: en ella trato de mostrar, por un lado, que la idea de un merecimiento incondicionado es un presupuesto necesario, a la vez que inalcanzable (por incoherente), para el rechazo global de la suerte moral; además, trato de hacer ver lo implausible, indeseable e injusto de excluir los factores circunstanciales y resultantes de la evaluación moral. Finalmente, la tercera parte es una respuesta a importantes cuestiones que surgen tras el reconocimiento del hecho de que la suerte puede marcar (marca) diferencias morales. Metodológicamente, la tesis combina el análisis conceptual y fenomenológico, típico de la filosofía, con la valoración de ciertos resultados empíricos (procedentes principalmente de la psicología social) y el estudio de casos históricos, biográficos y literarios.
The main topic of this dissertation is the so-called phenomenon of "moral luck." Undeniably luck intervenes in our ordinary lives in very different ways, but we tend to deny that those factors can make a moral difference. The issue of moral luck is usually motivated as a puzzle resulting of a tension between the belief that we cannot blame or praise differently two o more people due to things beyond their control, and what seems to be our ordinary practice of judging people differently regarding what actually happens. It includes not only the issue of the role played, in moral assessment, by the consequences of certain actions, but also by the circumstances that an agent has to face, the influences received in her development and her particular constitution. The discrepancy is, first of all, about the very existence of such a phenomenon. Is it moral luck a real phenomenon? Or is it a mere appearance? Secondly, if there is a real conflict between our practices of moral judgment, or particular intuitions, and what we think are the principles ruling them, or general intuitions, then something appears to be wrong; and, then, either our practices or our principles are likely in need of revision.The Dissertation has three parts. Part I is devoted to explaining what the phenomenon of moral luck, if real, would be about. Part II offers a reconstruction and a rebuttal of the main arguments against moral luck. And, finally, Part III answers significant questions that arise after the recognition of the fact that luck can make differences in judging people morally. Throughout the dissertation I argue for the reality of moral luck, while denying that such a phenomenon entails a real paradox. In particular, my central aim is to rebut the deniers' arguments against moral luck. I claim that luck necessarily interferes in our moral agency, so that it is impossible to isolate attributions of moral responsibility from luck. In addition, I argue for the existence of significant normative considerations that favor preferring a world with moral luck to one without it.

The mangrove ecosystem has suffered environmental degradation over the years, this reality changes the ecosystemic balance. In view of this, the present work has the objective of assisting in the preservation of the environmental quality of the mangrove of the Bay of Southeast, Fernando de Noronha - PE, regarding the fixation of the dunes, monitoring water quality and identification of bioindicator organisms. To this end, bibliographical studies and environmental quality assessment were carried out with the evaluation of the potential environmental impacts caused by the anthropic actions, through the qualitative matrix and quantitative matrix adapted from Tommasi, environmental perception of the inhabitants and tourists of the Archipelago, with the application of a Likert-type questionnaire and analysis of the data by means of statistical tests (linear correlation matrix, hierarchical grouping analysis and analysis of principal components) and analysis of the physico-chemical parameters of the rainy season. For the analysis of ideal species as bioindicators a bibliographic study was carried out with two species, Lacuncularia racemosa and Leucaena leucocephala, through the adaptation of the Johnson methodology. A spatial and temporal analysis was carried out from 1986 to 2016, from satellite and orthophoto images, verifying areas in the vicinity of the mangrove that could have an area invaded by dunes, as well as mapping the topographic features of the beach of the Southeast Bay, evaluating the sediment movement between dry and rainy seasons. The results highlight that the anthropic actions, operation of the dam, road and tourist activities, have an impact on the mangrove of the Bay of Southeast. The residents and tourists have different perceptions regarding the place studied. The species Laguncularia Racemosa can be used as a bioindicator of environmental quality. There was an increase in the vegetation of the mangrove and vegetation growth on the dune bodies, being the dunes currently fixed. The topographic profiles showed a variation in sediment movement, and it is necessary to carry out other campaigns to better understand this dynamics. Further studies on the elements evidenced in this research are recommended, since it makes it possible to obtain more complete data and, consequently, to carry out a more precise diagnosis, which could assist in the development of an Environmental Management Plan for the area.
O ecossistema manguezal vem sofrendo degradação ambiental ao longo dos anos, essa realidade altera o equilíbrio ecossistêmico. Diante disto, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo auxiliar na preservação da qualidade ambiental do manguezal da Baía do Sueste, Fernando de Noronha - PE, quanto à fixação das dunas, monitorar a qualidade da água e identificação de organismos bioindicadores. Para tal, foram realizados, primeiramente, estudos bibliográficos e avaliação da qualidade ambiental com a avaliação dos potenciais impactos ambientais, provocados pelas ações antrópicas, através da matriz qualitativa e matriz quantitativa adaptada de Tommasi, percepção ambiental dos moradores e turistas do Arquipélago, com a aplicação de questionário tipo Likert e análise dos dados por meio de testes estatísticos (matriz de correlação linear, análise de agrupamento hierárquico e análise de componentes principais) e análise dos parâmetros físico-químicos da água, do período chuvoso. Para análise de espécies ideais como bioindicadoras foi realizado estudo bibliográfico com duas espécies, a Lacuncularia racemosa e a Leucaena leucocephala, através da adaptação da metodologia de Johnson. Foi realizada análise espaço-temporal de 1986 a 2016, das imagens de satélite e ortofoto, verificando áreas nas proximidades do manguezal que poderiam ter área invadida por dunas, como também mapeamento das feições topográficas da praia da Baía do Sueste, avaliando a movimentação dos sedimentos entre as estações seca e chuvosa. Os resultados destaca que as ações antrópicas, operação do açude, estrada e atividades turísticas, causam impacto no manguezal da Baía do Sueste. Os moradores e turistas tem percepções diferentes em relação ao local estudado. A espécie Laguncularia Racemosa pode ser utilizada como bioindicador de qualidade ambiental. Teve aumento da vegetação do manguezal e crescimento de vegetação sobre os corpos dunares, estando às dunas atualmente fixas. Com os perfis topográficos foi visto variação na movimentação de sedimentos, sendo necessária realização de outras campanhas, para melhor compreender esta dinâmica. Recomenda-se estudos mais aprofundados sobre os elementos evidenciados nessa pesquisa, uma vez que possibilita a obtenção de dados mais completos e, consequentemente, a realização de um diagnóstico mais preciso, passível de auxiliar no desenvolvimento de um Plano de Gestão Ambiental para a área.

Esta tesis compara dos concepciones igualitarias de la justicia distributiva aplicadas a dos problemas específicos de la esfera de la salud. Las teorías comparadas son el enfoque rawlsiano de Norman Daniels y el enfoque basado en el “igualitarismo de la suerte” de Shlomi Segall. Esta tesis evalúa las respuestas de dichas teorías a dos cuestiones: i) la justificación del acceso universal a la asistencia sanitaria, y ii) ¿cuándo son injustas las desigualdades de niveles de salud? This thesis compares two egalitarian conceptions of distributive justice applied to two particular problems of health sphere. It compares the rawlsian approach held by Norman Daniels with the luck egalitarian approach defended by Shlomi Segall. The thesis evaluates the answers these theories give to two issues: i) the justification of a universal health care system, and ii) when are health inequalities unjust? The comparison focus on ideal aspects of each theory.

Анотація:

This thesis examines the heroines in Middle English romances and argues that, like the noblewomen who lived in England during the Plantagenet period, they are not helpless princesses simply waiting to be rescued by the brave, strong hero. In fact, these heroines show an enormous amount of intelligence, ingenuity, perseverance, and strength of character. Many play a pivotal role in the hero's success in his quest by giving him a token, providing knowledge, or teaching him a lesson. Also, it is the heroines who provide the heroes with rewards after the quests are completed. The present thesis offers a contribution to the study of Medieval English Romances in providing a revision of standard feminist analyses. In many of these studies there seems to be a lack of appreciation for the role of female characters and their relation to the outcome of the hero's quest. Even studies written from a feminist perspective tend to overlook the strength of the heroine's character, the attainment of her goals, and the fact that she is often a powerful figure who is of much higher status than her suitor. In these romances the female characters wield a substantial amount of both private and public power, an aspect of the genre which has often been ignored.
