The title of the existing topic is “Impact of stress on student’s academic performance at secondary school level”. The important motives of this study are to explore the stress impact on the students’ academic performance. Stress has a key role in student’s academic performance. This study was to focus on the negative impact on the student’s academic performance. The purposes of the study were to investigate; firstly, the type of stress linked with student’s performance; secondly, to evaluate the impact of stress on the academic performances of students; and thirdly, differentiate the impacts of stress on the academic performances of both gender students. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives of the study, the researcher can suggest a reasonable solution for the impact of stress on student’s academic performance. The data collected for this topic, has been gathered from all the secondary schools in District Vehari. In this study the researcher was taken a sample of (n=10) secondary schools from each Tehsil of District Vehari. The researcher was further divided (n=10) secondary schools into two groups (n=5) males and (n=5) female secondary schools. The researcher was taken (n=15) students from each secondary school selected as sample. The researcher was used simple random sampling technique for data collection. Five points Likert-scale used in this research. 99% respondents are responding about the factor of stress impact on their academic performance. After collecting data, it was analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. The tool (questionnaire) used for the collection data was 0.850 Cronbach alpha. In this study, different tests were applied as to factor analysis and regression. Generally, the major findings of study divulged that there are significant impacts of stress on student’s academic performance. This study concluded that major factors of stress among the students are teacher and parents.

Large volume of educational data has led to more challenging in predicting student’s performance. In Malaysia currently, study about the performance of students in Malaysia institutions is very little being addressed. The previous studies are still insufficient to identify what factors contribute to student’s achievements and lack of investigations on exploring pattern of student’s behaviour that affecting their academic performance within Malaysia context. Therefore, predicting student’s academic performance by using decision trees is proposed to improve student’s achievements more effectively. The main objective of this paper is to provide an overview on predicting student’s academic performance using by using data mining techniques. This paper also focuses on identifying the pattern of student’s behaviour and the most important attributes that impact to the student’s achievement. By using educational data mining techniques, the students, lecturers and academic institution are able to have a better understanding on the student’s achievement.

Purpose This paper aims to study the relationship between students’ activities in the e-classroom and grades for the final exam. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Administration, University of Ljubljana among first-year undergraduate students. In the e-classroom, students learn new content for individual self-study, and their knowledge is checked with quizzes. Design/methodology/approach In the empirical study, the relationship between performance in quizzes and at the final exam was studied from two perspectives. First, successful and unsuccessful students (in terms of quizzes) were compared. Second, the Orange data mining software was used for two predictive modelling tasks. The research question was based on a student’s quiz performances, is it possible to predict whether the student will pass an exam and will the student’s grade for the exam be good. Findings The empirical results indicate a very strong connection between a student’s performance in quizzes and their score for the final exam in the course. Significant differences in performance were found between students who had completed most quizzes and those who had not. Moreover, the results highlighted which quizzes, in other words topics, are most important for passing an exam or obtaining a better grade. Therefore, the quality of individual study in the e-classroom positively influences a student’s performance. Originality/value The paper is the first to assess the impact of students’ activities on learning outcomes in undergraduate public administration programmes by applying a data mining approach.

Our study examines the impact of immersive virtual teaching style on student’s performance in Management Ethics and Corporate Governance course at Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia. We perform learning activities in Management Ethics and Corporate Governance course using (1) Interactive Teaching Video (2) Edutainment Video (3) Massive Open Online Course & Facebook Group (4) Kahoot, as well as (5) Outside learning activities. We acknowledge that an issues on student’s engagement and performance are always become the center of attraction for many practitioners of e-learning, especially during COVID-19 pandemic where school and universities need to be closed and e-learning is taking over all of the traditional face to face classroom method. We therefore, intend to compare the performance of students that have been taught using (i) traditional approach of “chalk and talk” in Management Ethics and Corporate Governance course and (ii) Immersive Virtual Teaching approach where blended learning is widely executed in delivering and conveying the knowledge to the students. Our sample comprises of 71 students in Semester A171 and 134 Students in Semester A172, where in Semester A171 sample, students were exposed with traditional “chalk & talk” teaching approach, while in the Semester A172, an Immersive Virtual learning approach has been employed. Our result exhibit that the student’s performance in Semester A172 is significantly higher in the various assessment evaluation that had been conducted when compared to the performance of the students in Semester A171. We also document that the utilization of Immersive Virtual Teaching approach increases student’s engagement, improve student’s motivation and boost up student’s excitement to learn more about the course.

Postgraduate admission is an important transition in the student’s life, since this period can be understood as a process that involves a series of changes, pressures and changes that require the individual to adapt to the academic context. With this perspective, this research had a general objective: to identify and analyze the relationship between stress and academic performance realized by undergraduate students stricto sensu in Accounting in Brazil. For the accomplishment of this research, a sample of 309 students (24.08% of the population) who studied postgraduate in Accounting Sciences were investigated. Through a two-step multiple regression analysis, this study found that the research line, the condition of a student with scholarship and the age of the program, as well as the concerns and difficulties inherent in the process, significantly influence the student's level of stress. It also showed that the student's previous academic performance and stress level are significant in explaining academic performance. These results highlight the importance of monitoring the above-identified items of stress for the maintenance of student’s performance, as well as avoiding other problems due to the drop in performance, such as avoidance and other major damages.

<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This research is a kind of survey and aims to find out and analyze empirically the effects of student’s perception on teacher performance and learning motivation towards student’s achievement in English subject. The object population of this research is private junior high students in Indramayu. The sample was gained through simple random sampling. The collection of the data is done by questionnaire for both independent variables and by teachers’ file mid-term test for dependent variable. The gained data was analyzed by using correlation technique and multiple regressions<em>. </em>The result of this research is: 1) There are any significant effects of students perception on teacher performance and learning motivation jointly towards students’ achievement in English subject. It is proved by <em>Sig.</em> = 0.000 &lt; 0.05 and F<sub>o</sub> = 49.077; 2) There is a significant effect of students’ perception on teacher performance towards students’ achievement in English subject. It is proved by Sig. = 0.000 &lt; 0.05 and t<sub>o</sub> = 5.009; 3) There is a significant effect of learning motivation towards students’ achievement in English subject. It is proved by and Sig. = 0.000 &lt; 0.05 and t<sub>o</sub> = 6.773. It means that the students’ achievement in English subject is sufficient influenced by students’ perception on teacher performance and learning motivation.<em></em></p><p><strong>Key Words:</strong> Students’ Perception; Teacher Performance; Learning Motivation; Students Achievement.</p>

In social networking model our work has enhanced our imminent. The results reveal that there is strong relationship between social media and student’s academic performance. This paper shows that mostly students have cell phones and also have internet availability so they use 40 mints form 4 hours daily and not give attentions to their studies, all these activities on internet effect the student’s academic performance. There is a significant relationship between personality and academic achievement. It shows that personality plays an important part in student academic performance. The main purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Big Five Personality traits and academic performance among foundation student based on their CGPA. There were 137-foundation students from private universities in Malaysia participants in this study. With 92 female and 45 males involved. Pearson correlation analysis was performing in this study. The result of this study showed that personality has a significant relationship between personality and academic performance. In details, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness were positively significant related to CGPA, while Extraversion and Neuroticism were negatively related to the CGPA. This result supports the other findings. With this finding, the academician will have more understanding on their students. There are a number of factors that influence students’ academic achievement and one of its personality factors. Besides that, this result also can give useful information to the lecturer in order to understand student’s personality and to match their teaching styles with the student’s personality to improve the student’s performance.

Background: Selection of students into medical school should have two distinct purposes: to enroll students that most likely to succeed in their academic and clinical year, and subsequently become competent and professional medical practitioner. Numbers of applicants and numbers of students accepted in Faculty of Medicine of Maranatha Christian University (MCU) was tend to increase each year. The selection of medical students was based on General Admission Test (GAT) prepared by admission committees of MCU. To improve the selection procedure, since 2009, the Faculty developed Medical Faculty Admission Test (MFAT) as additional selection tool to assess cognitive attributes in basic biomedical sciences. The objective of this study was to evaluate how well the selection criteria predict academic performance, and to identify if there were any aspects of prior academic history and student’s characteristic that correlate with subsequent students performance during medical program.Method: We studied students cohort of the 2009. Selection criteria were GAT and MFAT. Prior academic performance explained by student’s score on National High School Examination (NHSE) and student’s score on biology. Academic performance was defined as cumulative first year Grade Point Average (GPA). Correlation between GPA and selection criteria or student’s characteristic was calculated using Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Multiple regressions was performed for each outcome variable with all variables included. Statistical significance was set at p < 0,05Results: There were 167 students included in this study. Bivariate correlation analysis with Pearson’s correlation showed that MFAT (= 0,354,p<0,01) and GAT ( r=0,301, p<0,01) were correlated with student’s academic performance. The results of multivariate analysis with multiple regression showed that MFAT and GAT are predictors of first year academic performance defined by GPA (R multiple = 0,404, p<0,001).Conclusion: Medical Faculty of MCU selection criteria ere correlated with academic performance.

This research aims at improving the 2nd grade students’s early writing skills using Illustrated Diary in SD Timbulharjo. The subjects were all students of 2nd class (25 students). The object of this research was the enhancing of 2nd B class students's early writing skills. This research use the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart’s design. The data collection’s methods using observation, test (performance), and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results shows that the IInd B class student’s early writing skills have enhanced during the action. The results obtains from the comparison of the class’s completeness percentage on Pra Cyle, Ist Cycle, and 2nd Cycle. Student’s completeness percentage on Pra Cycle was 36% (9 students) with “less” criteria have increased to 52% (13 students) on Cycle Ist with “enough” criteria. On Cycle IInd, student’s completeness percentage have increased to 76% (19 students) with “good” criteria.

<span>Data mining approach has been successfully implemented in higher education and emerge as an interesting area in educational data mining research. The approach is intended for identification and extraction of new and potentially valuable knowledge from the data. Predictive model developed using supervised data mining approach can derive conclusion on students' academic success. The ability to predict student’s performance can be beneficial for innovation in modern educational systems. The main objective of this paper is to develop predictive models using classification algorithm to predict student’s performance at selected university in Malaysia. The prediction model developed can be used to identify the most important attributes in the data. Several predictive modelling techniques of K-Nearest Neighbor, Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree and Logistic Regression Model models were used to predict student’s performance whether excellent or non-excellent. Based on accuracy measure, precision, recall and ROC curve, results show that the Naïve Bayes outperform other classification algorithm. The Naïve Bayes reveals that the most significant factors contributing to prediction of excellent students is when the student scores A+ and A in Multivariate Analysis; A+, A and A- in SAS Programming and A, A- and B+ in ITS 472.</span>

Speaking skill becomes one of the most fundamental skills in this era; however English learners need to develop their capability to show their language skill through speaking practice. This research aims to investigate students speaking fluency level toward speaking practice. The qualitative descriptive method is used to describe data analysis. The sample of this research is single sample, English language program students at semester 5. The video record towards speaking practice and professional feedback are became the data collection technique. The video records duration is about 10 minutes and during that presentation, researcher tried to analysis based on the vocabulary used, voice, and speech fluency. The result of the research showed that student’s speaking fluency level is still low, and it needed to treat and drill more, could be through watching a YouTube or practice among English learners.

Well-organized knowledge is characterized when students are able to collaborate the knowledge features of the physics problem. The knowledge feature can be a cognitive activity where teachers influence students by changing the pattern of knowledge from "defining" to "applying" knowledge. This research aims to analyze whethet the cognitive activity from the teacher can generate student’s argumentation performance features or no. This study is a qualitative descriptive study which involved 100 of high school students in Bandar Lampung. The data was collected using a research instrument in the form of reasoned multiple choices which has been validated. The results of this study showed that students' involvement in cognitive activity by following variety of procedures can generate student’s argumentation performance fetaures.

Background: For two years implementation of PBL in Faculty of Medicine Islamic University of Sumatera Utara several phenomenon should be evaluated such as various performance of tutor in facilitating PBL and student’s self study not much. This research aimed to evaluate the relationship between tutor performance and student’s self study and reporting process in PBL.Method: This was observational analytical research, cross sectional study with population of all students of Faculty of Medicine Islamic University of Sumatera Utara. Primary data was collected from June to August 2009. Instrument used were tutor performance evaluation questionnaire, self learning activity evaluation questionnaire and student’s self study and reporting process in PBL questionnaire with Likert scale. Kruskall Wallis test was used to assess the relationship between tutor and student performance.Results: Average score of tutor performance on first year was higher compared to the second year students (p=00,32). There is significant difference in student’s self study and report process in PBL between high and moderate tutor performance’s group (p=0,000; p=0,000), high and low tutor performance’s group (p=0.007, p=0,008), but not significant difference between moderate and low tutor performance’s group (p=0,111, 0,280).Conclusion: Tutor performance is related to higher level of student’s self study and report process in PBL.

This study examines variables explaining student’s academic performances in mathematics from specialized engineering institutions. A survey consisting of 42 items was conducted from 127 students and statistical multiple regression was carried out to analyze the data set. Based on Fennema-Sherman Mathematics Attitude Scales followed by the result of stepwise linear regression, found a significant impact of high school geometry grades in mathematics performance. Au-thors suggest that mathematics instructors in higher education should pay attention to improve their student’s confidence, which in turn would decrease the anxiety level towards mathematics. The high school teachers should not advise their students to go to technical sciences in higher education unless the student’s confidence and high school math grade are sufficiently high

Recently, there has been a tremendous increase of failure rate in higher institutions. Often times, students of tertiary institutions drop-out of school or end up with certain classes of degrees that are far lesser than their ideal intellectual capabilities. As fresh students enroll into higher institutions, some may not even know what a class of degree is, and the level of work that is likely to place them in a particular class of degree. Predicting their academic performance in this wise becomes necessary to ascertain the future of their performances in order to make informed decisions. Traditionally, we find out “who failed in an examination” or who “passed in an examination”. However, predictions usually finds out who is likely to fail and who is likely to pass an examination and to what extent the failure or pass could be. Hence, predictions serve as counseling tool for the students to either improve their work rate or maintain their rate to achieve higher performance in subsequent examinations. In this paper, we predicted the academic performance of Benue State University students using linear regression. Linear regression assumes a linear relationship between the dependent variables (x) and an independent variable (y) such that the slope (predicted) can be specifically calculated from a computational linear combination of the variables x and y. Our proposed system correctly predicted the performance of mathematics/computer science students of the Benue State University with an accuracy of up to 100%.

Manual practice in formal examination does not assess accurate measureof a student’s ability, as it merely counts the score of every question to beconsidered for the student’s grade. There are many educators who haveused raw score as a form of measurement for a student’s ability, but it nevertruly measures the right measurement. The raw score should be convertedinto the right linear metrics for ability measurement. This procedurecontains measuring score of accurate student’s ability in LOGIT unit,providing of student’s result profile, and measuring reliability of the testset and the student’s answers. The procedure is designed for massive openonline learning and paperless essay-based test which is more difficult tobe analysed. This procedure converts the student’s answer into rubricalratio-based scale to be more accurately measured. It is definitely better thanthe common practice of merely analysis on raw marks for each question.It would show true student’s performance of cognitive performance (test)which represents the true student’s ability (in LOGIT unit), in order toaccurately measure the right outcome. This new paradigm of assessmentis fit to be applied for massive numbers on online students. It uses Raschmodel which offers reliable solution in producing accurate ability marksfor students, together with scientific reliability score for student’s answer.

Software Engineering (SE) course is one of the backbones of today's computer technology sophistication. Effective theoretical and practical learning of this course is essential to computer students. However, there are many students fail in this course. There are many aspects that influence a student's performance. Currently, student performance analysis methods just focus on historical achievement and assessment methods given in the class. Need more research to predict student's performance to overcome the problem of student failing. The objective of this research is to perform a prediction for student's performance in the SE using enhanced Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) machine learning classification with Adaboost. This research also investigates the requirements of each student before registering in this course. This research achieved 87.76 percent accuracy in classifying the performance of SE students.

The Peer group is composed of equal status, where students within a given peer group are of the same age and have the same social status. The performance task is any learning activity or assessment that asks students to perform to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, and proficiency. Performance tasks as part of the student’s performance in school, probably this might be influenced by peers of the students. The study used a descriptive design to determine the influence of peer on the performance task of the students. A total of 243 Senior High students of Jagobiao National High School answered the Likert scale questionnaire, an instrument used by the researcher to conduct the study. The study used weighted mean and chi-square to determine whether peer influence has an association with students’ performance tasks. The results show that peers can influence students’ performance tasks. It was shown in the study that students get a low grade from skipping classes together with their peers. The study concluded that there is an association between peer influence and academic performance of the students. Therefore, peer plays a big role in student’s academic engagement and academic success.

One of the most important pillars of smart cities is the smart learning environ-ment. This environment should be well prepared and managed to improve the in-struction process for instructors from one side and the learning process for stu-dents from the other side. This paper presents the student’s Engagement, Behav-ior and Personality (EBP) predictive model. This model uses Moodle log data to investigate the influence and the effect of the students’ EBP factors on their per-formance. For this purpose, this paper uses the data log files of the "Search Strat-egies on the Internet" online course in Fall 2019 at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) extracted from Moodle database. The intention of conducting this kind of experiments is of three-facets: 1. to assist in gaining a holistic understanding of online learning environments by focusing on student EBP and performance with-in the course activities, 2. to explore whether the student’s EBP can be considered as indicators for predicting student’s performance in online courses, and 3. to support instructors with insights to develop better learning strategies and tailor instructions for personal learning of individual students. Moreover, this paper takes a step forward in identifying effective methods to measure student’s EBP during the learning process. This may contribute to proposing a framework for the smart learning behavior environment that would guide the instructors to ob-serve students’ performance in a more creative way. All the 38 students who participated in this experiment had compatible statistics and results as the relationship between their Engagement, Behavior, Personality was symmetric with their Performance. This relationship was presented using a group of condition rules (If-then). The extracted rules gave us a straightforward and visual picture of the rela-tionship between the factors mentioned in this paper.

<p>This study seeks to explore the factors that influence students’ usage behaviour of e-learning systems. Based on the strong theoretical foundation of the TAM, UTAM and using structural equation modeling (SEM) via AMOS 20.0, this research paper examines the impact of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, habit, social influence, and trust on student’s behavioural intention, which is later examined along with facilitating conditions on student’s usage behaviour of e-learning systems. Data was collected from students at two universities in Beirut (capital of Lebanon) using a cross-sectional questionnaire survey between January and March 2015. The results revealed direct positive effect of performance expectancy, hedonic motivation, habit, and trust on student’s behavioural intention to use e-learning explaining around 71% of overall behavioural intention. Meanwhile, behavioural intention and facilitating conditions accounted for 40% with strong positive effects on student’s usage behviour of e-learning systems. However, both effort expectancy and social influence did not impact student’s behavioural intention.</p>

To be able to improve and represent student’s capability in their speaking skill, student also need to drill and practice their speaking as the academic presenter, because if they able to speak academically, their speaking skill will get well improvement automatically. This research is aimed to investigate student’s speaking performance while they have academic speaking practice. The population of this research is 4th semester student of Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, located in Cikokol-Tangerang. The sample is single sample. To find the data, researcher use video record originally from the speaker then doing the analysis with triangulation validity. This research showed that students speaking performance is need to be treating well, especially in their self-confident and vocabulary master, because it will be impossible for them to be a good speaker if they have lots of anxiety.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between individual trust of students in computer supported semi-virtual collaboration groups and student’s performance in school. Design/methodology/approach Longitudinal questionnaires and interviews are conducted during the case study. By analyzing the data from the questionnaires and the grade earned by the students, the sample students are ranked with respect to the trust level and individual performance. Furthermore, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test is used to compare individual trust level and performance in the computer supported semi-virtual collaborative environment. Findings The distribution of an individual’s trust level is roughly consistent with the distribution of the individual’s performance in the collaboration. Besides, the relationship between a student’s trust level and the student’s performance is positively correlated. Research limitations/implications This study integrates the issues of trust, school performance, and collaboration in an educational context. Furthermore, the conclusions drawn from this paper extend the literature of multiple disciplines including education, management, and psychology. Practical implications The conclusions could apply in the fields of education and management since the analysis revealed the relationship between an individual’s trust level and their performance. Originality/value This study contributes to the field of trust and collaboration research with a link to trust development and performance. The study also provides an insight into how to successfully improve the performance of student semi-virtual collaboration groups.

Achievement tests administered at national level play a significant role in the lives of test-takers as well as the whole society. This paper aims to investigate the effect of giving students a choice between two optional questions on their overall performance in a high-stake achievement test for university admission. It is hypothesized that questions targeting writing-based productive skills and language system necessitate display of abilities which are different from fact-based questions designed around story content. The two items are assumed to reflect different constructs that require different criteria of assessment. Consequently, the student’s overall score is affected by the item they choose to answer, which might not be reflective of their real language abilities. An open-ended interview was carried out with ten teachers working with grade 3 students in model secondary schools to investigate the nature of the two types of test items and their impact on the student’s performance. The data has proved that giving choice in an achievement test generates different performances that are assessed differently. It is recommended that in order to address the question of fairness, it is important to clearly define and balance the construct of the items that affect the student’s choice and performance.

This study proposed a statistical investigate the pattern of students’ academic performance before and after online learning due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) during pandemic outbreak and a modelling students’ academic performance based on classification in Support Vector Machine (SVM). Data sample were taken from undergraduate students of Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) were obtained to developed model of academic performances during Covid-19 outbreak. The prediction model was used to predict the academic performances of university students when online classes was conducted. The algorithm of Support Vector Machine (SVM) was used to develop a model of students’ academic performance in university. For the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm, there are two important parameters which are C (misclassification tolerance parameter) and epsilon need to identify before proceed the further analysis. The parameters was applied to four different types of kernel which is linear kernel, radial basis function kernel, polynomial kernel and sigmoid kernel and the result was found that the best accuracy achieved by SVM are 73.68% by using linear kernel and the worst accuracy obtained from a sigmoid kernel which is 67.99% with parameter of misclassification tolerance C is 128 and epsilon is 0.6.

Understanding the determinants of student learning outcomes and their academic performance is never being easy. Most of the studies examined the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) and intelligence quotient (IQ) on academic performance discretely, and their combined influence was not studied. The study identifies various dimensions of EI and IQ and investigates their impact on university business students’ academic performance comparatively among private and public university students. The data relevant to this study were collected from 416 students of various Business Colleges of Saudi central province universities, using online survey questionnaire. Structural equation modeling analysis using SPSS AMOS was used to evaluate the data. The private students possess a significant IQ, and their academic performance is primarily driven by IQ and with high EI; whereas public sector students possess moderate EI with insignificant IQ levels and tend to perform average in their academics. All the measurement items of EI and IQ explained only 43.6% of variance in public student’s performance and 56.3% in private student’s performance. The study argues the cognitive intelligence is very purposive in academics but narrow in nature and does not extend the horizon of student’s lifelong learning. Therefore, EI is vital and plays a prominent role in supporting their IQ as well. The study is limited to only business students; therefore, findings may not be generalized to other academic domains and for master level students. It suggests to conduct further studies to explore relationship among various exogenous variables.

This paper proposes an effective decision support system based on an absorbing Markov model, which is used for helping decision makers in Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT) at King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) in controlling student’s flow transition enrollment. Several important controlling criteria that govern student’s flow performance during semesters are evaluated. These include estimating students flow between different study levels, the average life time a student spends at each level, the semesters required for graduation, and students graduating probability. A complete performance evaluation comparison between boys and girls at IT College is investigated. Results show that girls achieved better performance than boys. The system has several advantages, such as, helping to find any bottle necks to be solved during student’s transition study from one semester to another, and helping to know students needed facilities to planning for future required resources, hence achieving good quality and efficient university education. The proposed model is validated using cross-validation methodology, and the achieved results were acceptable

In this paper, the authors aim to develop an intelligent learning environment model designed to improve students’ academic performance. Methodology: Referring to the litarature, the authors identified and analyzed a number of relevant issues that influence the specific components of an intelligent learning environment. These aspects were quantified using performance indicators defined on the basis of the specific objectives of each aspect chosen. Results: Following the analysis, the authors developed a model of intelligent learning space, and for its representation, we used conceptual modeling. Conclusions: Finally, the authors propose the prevalidation of the model using the dynamic modeling process and then the model will be piloted for final validation in both physical and virtual environment. These aspects are proposed because in the present study, the model was validated only based on the results from studies in scientific literature.

Cross sectional survey technique has used in the current study. The self-administered questionnaire distributed to the 260 students of four universities of Lahore through convenient random sampling. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data while Chi-square (X2) analysis has performed to test the research hypotheses. The findings of the current study show that the university students of Lahore, Pakistan are using different social networking sites which has negative effect on the student’s academic performance and habits. Online Learning platforms are increasing day by day, and most of the people prefer online learning as this platform is very convenient and affordable. In online learning education, learning content designing plays very important role to improve student performance. Therefore in this project we proposed a data analytics based model to analyze student’s exam solving and content accessing behaviors which will help teachers to improve content quality. Student’s behavior analysis will also help to find out questions difficulty levels as well as student’s grade and performance. We proposed a decision support system in online learning system for tutors/teachers which will help them to improve their learning quality. Along with this the tutors will be able to view student’s performance online using Graphical User Interface. In this system, we proposed a personal questions ordering module for students depending upon their historical question solving patterns.

Student’s performance is an outcome of effective teachers training. This study has been conducted to investigate the relationship between teachers training and student academic performance. The data has been collected from 260 respondents out of which 80 male and female teachers and 180 students of grade VIII of public schools by conducting survey at five point likert scale. The data has been analyzed by employing correlation and regression analysis. The results revealed that teacher's trainings has a significant effect on the students academic performance.

Introduction: Extracurricular activities are part and parcel of modern day’s academic curriculum. It provides them a positive character building opportunity and teaches ways to develop discipline, commitment, tenacity, self control and a healthy respect for college authority. Objectives: To find out the relation between student’s participation in extracurricular activities in college campus and academic performance. Materials and Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted at Armed Forces Medical College, Dhaka from February 2015 to October 2015. A total of 475 students belonged to four different phase groups were selected as research sample. The dependant variable was fixed at overall improvement in examination results where as independent variables were gender, participation and non participation in all extra academic activities performed at college campus. Research Data were collected from records of training section of the college. Data was analyzed in terms of percentage and Pearson Chi-Square test using SPSS-20 version of software. Results: Total participant students were 475 and Male female student ratio was 168(35.36%): 307 (64.64%). In outdoor games and sports, males showed better participation than female 121(72.02%): 89(28.99%). But the number of participating female increased in case of indoor games {male 115(68.45%): female 205(66.77%)}. Considering photography club participation male showed better response {male 76(45.23%): female 41(13.35%)}. In case of cultural and debate club activities females showed greater response {female 226(73.61%): male 106(63.09%)}. In medical carnival club activities female: male score was almost similar {Female 207(67.43%): male 112(66.66%)}. The class attendance (more than 75%) of participating students {male 106(94.64%) and female 208 (92.04%)) were much better than non participating students. Regarding result of term finals all the participants showed better academic performance {male 87(77.68%) and female 187 (82.74%)}. In Professional MBBS examinations participant 103 (91.96%) male and 201 (88.94%) female passed at one chance while percentage of pass was less in non participant students {31 (55.35%) male and 44 (57.14%) female}. Pearson Chi-Square test result showed significance in all the above aspects. Conclusion: Students participating in extracurricular activities generally benefit from having better examination results, higher self concept, higher standardized test scores and educational attainment. Students often learned skills such as teamwork and leadership from college club activities while decreasing the likelihood of different problem behaviors. Competence is skills that are closely related to the effectiveness of person’s performance in a particular field. Similarly in education, competence is the key to student success, and also the great competence of the majors chosen by the students will lead to increased quality of majors. Arabic Language Education Department in IAIN Kendari is a department that prepares students to become educators and scientists in Arabic language which has competence in Arabic were nice and had a high competitiveness. This research uses descriptive analysis method with qualitative approach based on case study design. The data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and open questionnaire. The results showed (1) a strategy to increase student competence in Arabic language on Arabic language education department at IAIN Kendari still ineffective that was described by least of activities that support the increased student’s competence in Arabic language and also its lack of consistency in implementing additional programs for students of Arabic language education department (2) the helping and resistoring factors to increase student’s competence contained on lecturer’s performance in the classroom, facilities of language learning, and student’s motivation. lecturer’s performance in the classroom has given many help to increase student’s competence in Arabic, facilities to assist in learning the Arabic language still needs to be cared and activated again or making the new and interesting activities, and student’s motivation in the study of Arabic is still lacking is due to the absence of another place for practicing the Arabic language competencies that they have acquired, and also the lack of student’s interest in attention of learning at the classroom caused by the bored atmosphere of the class (3) the problem solving by formulating a strategy based on suggestions and feedback from lecturers and students in Arabic language education department is a path that can be taken by Arabic language education department in IAIN Kendari to improve student’s competence in Arabic language.
