Purpose The purpose of this paper is to give a comprehensive and updated analysis of the available literature on hospital dashboards. Design/methodology/approach A search of the current literature was performed by searching electronic databases, including Google Scholar, EBSCO and Medline, as well as books. Findings In all, 48 manuscripts consisting of peer reviewed articles, conference proceedings, case reports and text books were included in this review. Practical implications Despite the numerous advantages of performance dashboards, several authors have mentioned a number of challenges. It was evident from the literature that any setting requires significant effort, especially to ensure the quality of data being collected. In fact, significant investment, both in terms of financial and human resources, is required to achieve an effective dashboard. Furthermore, most of the studies available in the literature were individual case reports or anecdotal accounts rather than empirical studies. Thus, further research is required to ascertain the effectiveness of performance dashboards. In view of these findings, each organisation should make its own decisions whether or not to adopt performance dashboards. Originality/value Most of the literature is fragmented as it reports the use of different types of dashboards, namely strategic, tactical and operational, as separate tools. This literature review contributes to knowledge as it brings together the different types of dashboards and the cascading effect of one dashboard onto another in order to achieve and retain organisational alignment with the overall strategic goals.

In this article, I consider how the redesign of vehicle dashboards has restructured car-related data processes. I do so by charting the emergence of two such processes enabled by the redesign of vehicle dashboards: firstly, the transformation of ‘geodata’ into ‘navigational data’ with the integration of voice-activated navigation systems into vehicle dashboards, and secondly, the transformation of ‘vehicle data’ into ‘driving data’ in the convergence, and customization, of dashboard features and functionality. Both transformations are enabled through strategic design decisions, persuading drivers to participate in novel practices they might otherwise not. Firstly, in that voice-activation is depicted as a seamless, unmediated interface between the normal, natural speech of a driver, and the vehicle itself. Secondly, through the strategy of control, the driver is persuaded to believe they have full(er) customizable power within, and of, the vehicle. The systems discussed here – a voice-activated navigation system built on the What3words platform, and a ‘widescreen’ dashboard in a range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles – are representative of broader efforts within the automotive industry to cultivate a newly ‘datafied’ driving experience.

At universities worldwide, the notion of a ‘smart campus’ is becoming increasingly appealing as a response to the multitude of challenges that impact campus development and operation. Smart campus tools are widely used to support students and employees, optimise space use and save energy. Although smart campus tools are supposed to support campus managers in their decision-making processes, the use of the information delivered by smart campus tools and their application in organisational processes has received little attention. In this paper, we focus on the use of dashboards in the connection of IoT information to strategic decision-making processes in the management of university campuses. To this end, we developed a briefing approach for dashboards that expresses the needs of campus management and matches the structure of decision-making processes. In two cases, dashboards based on this approach were use-tested by stakeholders for defining information requirements for IoT applications. The results suggest that users are able to use dashboards for assessing portfolio performance and determining interventions. Through iteration the usability of the dashboard is improved and information requirements are refined, resulting in a brief for a campus management dashboard. The results suggest that the briefing approach can be used to determine IoT information requirements, though further research is required to study indications and contra-indications of the proposed method.

AbstractIn the age of the fourth industrial revolution, the competition between enterprises is fierce to operate efficiently and hold on to their customers. Due to lack of time and methodology, many leaders struggle to establish optimized strategies for their businesses. To do so, the key processes need to be measured using dashboards that proactively help decisions making, facilitate the strategy execution and keep the employees focused. The purpose of this article is to identify the design features of a risk analysis dashboard and their effects on the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness.

In today’s competitive environment, one of the new tools in the field of information technology is business or organizational dashboards that are a backup in the process of strategic management of organizations. The purpose of the current research is to provide a framework to design the healthcare dashboard through technical architecture with fulfilling the decision-makers’ requirements. In this study, a common qualitative research method, metasynthesis, is applied, including a seven-step set of research questions, conducting systematic literature search and selection of suitable papers, data extraction, analysis and findings of the qualitative composition, quality control, and presentation of findings. During this process, 102 articles were found by saturation of information resources and then 12 articles were selected for extracting data using acceptance and rejection criteria. A critical evaluation method was used to evaluate the quality of selected articles. After investigating the selected articles and scoring them, in terms of quality, one article was very good, 10 articles were good, and one article was moderate. Then, with regard to the principles and guidelines of technical architecture, the required information was extracted from the selected articles and was analyzed with the method of open, axial, and selective coding. Following the steps of metasynthesis methods, the principles extracted with major and minor titles principles and guidelines in the form of multilayered system architecture including presentation layer, application layer, data layer, and technical infrastructure layer were classified. In the obtained framework, 15 indicators as the main principles and 66 subcriteria as the subsidiary principles for the design and technical architecture of enterprise dashboards were identified.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyse hospital dashboards’ visibility of information at different management levels to improve quality and performance in an acute general hospital. Design/methodology/approach Data were generated via 21 semi-structured interviews across different management levels. Findings All management levels had greater visibility of information, could make informed decisions, and registered performance improvement. Specifically, waiting time improved, however since introduction of hospital dashboards was work-in-progress at time of study, managers could not record improvement in terms of cost reductions, clinical effectiveness, patient safety and patient satisfaction. Different managerial levels had different visibility with top management having the greatest. Research limitations/implications In single case studies, where only one context is used, the findings cannot be reproduced in different contexts; even though most of the results could be matched with the current literature. Practical implications The need to have balanced key performance indicators that take into account other facets of improvements, apart from time, has been emphasised. Furthermore, if middle and departmental managers have greater visibility, this would allow them to work towards a strategic fit between the departments that they manage with the rest of the hospital. Originality/value There is scant literature regarding performance dashboards’ enhancement of visibility of information at different management levels. Furthermore, according to the authors’ knowledge, no other paper has tried to identify and discuss the different levels of information, which should be visible from bedside to board namely to management, clinicians and public.

Data users are generally interested in two types of aggregated information: summarization of the selected attribute(s) for all considered entities and retrieval and evaluation of entities by the requirements posed on the relevant attributes. Less statistically literate users (e.g., domain experts) and the business intelligence strategic dashboards can benefit from linguistic summarization, i.e. a summary like most customers are middle-aged can be understood immediately. Evaluation of the mandatory and optional requirements of the structure P1 and most of the other posed predicates should be satisfied beneficial for analytical business intelligence dashboards and search engines in general. This work formalizes the integration of the aforementioned quantified summaries and quantified evaluation into the concept of database queries to empower their flexibility by, e.g., the nested quantified query conditions on hierarchical data structures. Later in our work, we adapted our research into practical application. We created a software environment for evaluating data based on a dataset retrieved from The Statistical Office of the Slovak republic. These datasets are aimed mainly on landscape characteristics like altitude, area sizes of towns and villages, and similar parameters. Based on user's preferences, our system recommends the most suitable place for holidays to spend on.

This paper uses simulation modelling techniques and presents summarized model outputs using the balanced scorecard approach. The simulation models have been formulated with the use of empirical health, clinical and financial data extracted from clinical data warehouses of a healthcare group. By emphasising the impact of strategic financial and clinical performance measures on healthcare institutions, it is argued that hospitals, in particular, need to re-focus cost-cutting efforts in areas that do not impact clinicians, patient satisfaction or quality of care. The authors have added a real time component to business activity monitoring with the executive dashboards shown as graphs in this paper. This study demonstrates that it is possible to understand health policy interactions and improve hospital performance metrics through evaluation using balanced scorecards and normalized output data. Evidence from this research shows that the hospital executives involved were enthusiastic about the visual interactive interface that provides the transparency needed to isolate policy experimentation from complex model structures that map strategic behaviour.

Dynamic technological activities of analysis, evaluation, and synthesis can highlight complex relationships within integrated processes to target improvement and ultimately yield improved processes. Likewise, the identification of existing process limitations, potential capabilities, and subsequent contextual understanding are contributing factors that yield measured improvement. Based on a 120-month longitudinal study of an academic medical center, this study investigates how integrated information systems and business analytics can improve perioperative efficiency and effectiveness across patient quality of care, stakeholder satisfaction, clinical operations, and financial cost effectiveness. This case study examines process management practices of balanced scorecard and dashboards to monitor and improve the perioperative process, aligned to overall hospital goals at strategic, tactical, and operational levels. The conclusion includes discussion of study implications and limitations.

Purpose Higher education institutions (HEIs) face a number of challenges in effectively managing and reporting on sustainability information, such as siloes of data and a limited distribution of information. Business intelligence (BI) can assist in addressing the challenges faced by organisations. The purpose of this study was to propose a BI framework for strategic sustainability information management (the Sustainable BI Framework) that can be used in HEIs. Design/methodology/approach The research applied the design science research methodology whilst using a South African HEI as a case study. The problems with sustainability information management were identified, and a theoretical framework was proposed. In addition, a practical BI software tool was developed as proof of concept to address these problems and to assist with the management of strategic sustainability information in an HEI. Findings The proposed sustainability BI tool was evaluated through heuristic and usability evaluations with senior management. The results indicated that the usability of the BI tool was positively rated and that the framework can assist in overcoming the constraints that HEIs face in effectively managing sustainability information. Research limitations/implications The research was limited to a single case. However, the theoretical framework was derived from and expanded on existing stakeholder theory, sustainability reporting theory and literature on BI dashboard development. The framework was implemented successfully in the Sustainable BI Tool prototype at the case study, and the results reveal in-depth information regarding information management for sustainability reporting in higher education. Practical implications The Sustainable BI Tool is a solution that integrates data from multiple areas of sustainability and provides a single integrated view of the information to stakeholders. The information is provided through performance dashboards, which provide predictive capabilities to enable management to report on sustainability and determine if the institution is meeting its strategic goals. The lessons learnt can also assist other HEIs considering implementing BI for sustainability reporting. Social implications Improved sustainability reporting for HEIs provided by the BI framework can improve the environmental and social impact of the educational community. Originality/value This study provides the most comprehensive framework for guiding the design of a BI tool to assist in effectively managing sustainability information in HEIs.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the managerial decision-making challenges of the use of data from online and offline customer data flooding into firms and managed through interactive dashboards. The paper provides insights into how managers within the hotel sector both manage and use the data as a core tool in discussions with finance managers/directors during negotiation on critical marketing investments. Design/methodology/approach The research design followed a multiple-case study design of five market-orientated hotels, which were selected as high performing data and dashboard users. Across each case company multiple informants were interviewed and shadowed, including marketing managers, general managers and finance managers/directors. There was also an in-depth investigation of the collection, dissemination and particularly use of traditional market research data and online data from social media sites, web sites and web and mobile analytics. This was augmented by a study of the customized, off site managed interactive databases, in use in all case companies. Findings This paper identifies managerial challenges experienced by general managers, marketing and financial managers using digital customer data. It investigated the power of the customer voice internally and found that unstructured qualitative data had greater visibility and usage once supported by a financial imperative. It also found that the use of interactive dashboards were a powerful manifestation of data technology use and increased marketing’s visibility, power and accountability within the firm. Research limitations/implications The paper provided a limited hotel perspective which impacts on generalizability. The findings should be tested quantitatively to ascertain their validity across a wider sector of businesses and operations. Though multiple site and cross-functional research adds value, one site might have provided more depth. Practical implications This paper reveals that managers need support in terms of time, resources and personnel to manage the flood of information into their organizations. It also suggested that general and marketing managers need to develop the skills to interpret the data for decision-making, so that the financial implications are understand. Originality/value Most social media studies within the hotel sector focus on the impact of social media reviews on consumer purchasing processes and/or on how managers communicate online with consumers. This paper takes an internal managerial perspective on data use for decision-making. This paper expands our understanding of marketing strategic decision-making through an in-depth exploration into how cross-functional decision-making uses contemporary customer data.

Today a lot of companies use information system in every business activity. Every transaction is stored electronically in the database transaction. The transactional database does not help much to assist the executives in making strategic decisions to improve the company competitiveness. The objective of this research is to analyze the operational database system and the information needed by the management to design a data warehouse model which fits the executive information needs in PT. S. The research method uses the Nine-Step Methodology data warehouse design by Ralph Kimball. The result is a data warehouse featuring business intelligence applications to display information of historical data in tables, graphs, pivot tables, and dashboards and has several points of view for the management. This research concludes that a data warehouse which combines multiple database transactions with business intelligence application can help executives to understand the reports in order to accelerate decision-making processes.

Currently, monitoring tools in the market help to maintain in optimal conditions the IT infrastructure and thus improve the IT management of an organization providing a strategic alignment. Objective: The objective of the study is to analyze how to respond quickly to incidents that originate in IT resources, through a monitoring system based on ELK Stack, leading to an improvement in IT governance within the organization. A review of different sources of bibliographic documents no older than 5 years and with articles described as research was made. Within IT governance, a monitoring tool based on ELK Stack generates flexibility by generating reports with clean data and facilitates decision making through dynamic dashboards. ELK Stack being an Open Source framework, divided into 3 tools with different purposes, prioritizes the adaptation of adequate monitoring to an organization's plans with IT. The implementation of a monitoring system not only improves the response time to incidents, but also improves the performance of personnel at the operational level and at the managerial level.

Spatial planning and territorial promotion can benefit largely from the application of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) at different scales. From knowledge acquisition to management and planning, their role in building an image of the territory, and constantly updating it to the benefit of users and planners, is of paramount importance. Institutional channels, together with social networks, are the means by which both a local community and a wider community of users share experiences and perceptions. ICTs are therefore strategic in supporting and promoting a sustainable tourism development of territories. Data and information aggregators as dashboards represent examples of decision support systems where digital data are organized and processed to produce an information output. The present paper is part of a wider research, related to the valorization of a former mining area in the Sulcis-Iglesiente area (Sardinia, Italy), where the extraction activity has left the place to abandonment, and only recently to tourism, stressing the concept of slow tourism. Such new opportunity has been launched with the Santa Barbara Walk (SBW), an ancient mining route currently trying to consolidate as a tourism attraction area. Such a territory is in constant transition with unique characters of anthropic and naturalistic characterization, setting itself as a green infrastructure, capable also of attracting a wide community of regional and extra-regional users. However, its digital network—consisting of intangible infrastructure and flows—is fragmented in terms of policies and contents. Additionally, a state of disorganization in slow tourism promotion activities can be observed. To implement the SBW capabilities, the present paper aims to develop a proposal for the framework of a circular dashboard applied to the SBW. In particular, we implement a set of indicators of performance of the SBW for the organization of information on the walk’s main characters, to facilitate a shared governance and an effective tourism promotion. The SBW is recognized as a network connecting the main points of interest preferred by the slow tourism (This paper is based on the Research project TSULKI—Tourism and Sustainability in the Sulcis (Sardinia-Italy)—and on the agreement protocol between DICAAR Department of Cagliari University and Foundation of the Santa Barbara Walk, signed in December 2018).

The hospital area is constantly in need of care and attention. Because of its urgencies, it has vulnerabilities and risks that hinder the quality of hospital management. Technological management tools are effective in improving processes and strategic administration because they provide information reliability. The aim of this work is to propose to the Brazilian’s Federal University Hospitals (BFUHs) and to the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (BHSC) the use of an open source Business Intelligence (BI) tool, Pentaho, to analyze the efficiency of Hospital Indicators (HIs) and to support the clinical decision-making. This paper describes BI and Pentaho, as well as the main points of the efficiency documentations established by the National Agency of Supplementary Health (NASH), with emphasis on the HIs: Hospital Occupancy Rates (HORs) and Averages Length of Stay (ALSs). The Pentaho does the data extraction and the transformation, as well as loading them into the Data Warehouse (DW), all based on a relational database from BHSC. After that, dimensional cubes are created for the generation of graphic panels in dashboards. Most BHSC hospitals are not yet adequately using their operational beds and neither managing correctly the average length of hospitals patients stay, being outside the goals established by NASH. Several steps are taken to achieve efficient hospital administration. However, the joint working of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) solutions with the health area and its standards provides a major step towards efficient hospital management.

AbstractBackgroundAs defined by ISO 15189 competence is the “demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills” thus, its assessment is fundamental for ensuring the quality of the total testing process in order to reduce the risk for the patient. We have developed a functional software for the measurement of professional competences in order to standardize the procedure and to collect all the data in a single platform, avoiding redundancy and dispersion.MethodsOur model objectively assesses the skills, as they become measurable and comparable with appropriate standards and involves both managers and operators, to increase their active engagement. The assessment concerns everyone, but the standards to be met (numerical values) can vary according to the responsibilities. Several subjective and objective criteria are evaluated: each parameter can contribute in a variable proportion to the total skills measured according to the needs of the organization.ResultsThe data are automatically analyzed and can be easily monitored in real time in the form of indicators, thanks to dashboards. The comparison between the skills required and those measured allows highlighting the gap useful for planning personalized training paths.ConclusionsOur tool is reliable and highly adaptable to laboratories about competences to track criteria, standards and monitored indicators. The computerized management is a strategic action as it fulfills the requirements of registration, traceability, communication, data analysis and indicators development, which are the tenets of continuous improvement, and allows planning to be made on the basis of the actual training needs.

Despite its conceptual uncertainty, resilience is mostly about the measurement of capacity. Current studies confirm the importance of resilience measurement and the necessity to support policy makers with a measurement mechanism. A holistic approach considering the measurement of different resilience domains interactively and concurrently is the critical element in this endeavor. In parallel with the rise of popularity of resilience in international organizations, NATO has initiated a project with the objective to discover whether the resilience capacity of a country can be evaluated in a dynamic way via a prototype model execution. The implemented model running both baseline (without any shock) and extraordinary scenarios (with strategic shocks), clearly demonstrates its capacity to represent quantitatively the resilience related factors of a country in the complex operational environment. Moreover, the outputs of the model substantially comply with the resilience concept existing in the literature and NATO applications. One of the main strengths of the model is its almost infinite capacity to create various scenarios and make what-if analysis limited only by the current number of endogenous parameters of the model. It allows studying the secondary and the third order effects of events introduced in scenarios. The user interfaces (input and output dashboards) of the model help decision makers modify the values of selected endogenous parameters, see and compare the time-based values of the resilience factors, and doing so to evaluate risk related to the Area of Operations. Subject matter experts have validated the model and identified the main areas of improvement. The further development brings more countries to the model and implements an aggregation mechanism for output values of both resilience capacity and risk functions. The model will form the core of the NATO Resilience expert system.

170 Background: Sustainable comprehensive screenings for cancer-related symptoms and distress is a challenge for large multisite cancer centers. Technological solutions are necessary to compile patient-reported outcomes at institutions with high volumes across broad geographic regions. Interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership engagement is required to effectively screen for and manage symptoms. Once integrated, electronic distress screening (EDS) produces large symptom databases for management of cancer related symptoms, strategic programmatic growth, and research. Methods: System-wide (n=44 clinic locations) implementation of EDS at consultation visits and simulations occurred in phases between November 2016-Dec 2016. EDS content, clinical sensitivity thresholds, and referral processes were developed with input from Supportive Oncology Department. Automatic alerts via email based on clinical thresholds developed and various symptoms profiles used to aid referrals to supportive oncology resources. Information and Analytic services ensured clinical integration into the EMR, delineation by clinic site, and troubleshooting. Ongoing completion rate tracked and sent to all practice managers. Results: The network-wide EDS completion rate for January 2017-June 2018 is 69% (26,564 completed out of 38,435 eligible patient encounters). Mean completion time per patient was 8 minutes. 84% of clinic sites (n=37) screened >50% of eligible patients and 46% of clinics (n=20) screened >75%. Triggered referral rates were established for all supportive oncology sections (e.g. 60% of patients reported clinically significant distress and 18% indicated being at risk for malnutrition). All screening data available for ongoing analysis. Conclusions: EDS can be integrated as a solution for distress and cancer related symptoms in multisite cancer centers. Interdisciplinary collaboration is needed to ensure clinical relevance. Phased rollouts, structured education, and completion rate dashboards help establish leader buy-in and consistent symptom screening. Such symptom databases allow large cancer hospital networks to strategically allocate limited resources based on highest volume/acuity/symptom profiles.

PURPOSE Siloed electronic medical data limits utility and accessibility. At the Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, cross-institutional data were inconsistent and difficult to access. To unify data for clinical operations, administration, and research, we developed the Pediatric Patient Informatics Platform ( PPIP), an integrated datamart harmonizing multiple source systems across two institutions into a common technology. PATIENTS AND METHODS Starting in 2009, user requirements were gathered and data sources were prioritized. Project teams, including biostatisticians, database developers, and an external contractor, were formed. Read-access to source systems was established. The 3-layer PPIP architecture was developed: STAGING, a near-exact copy of source data; INTEGRATION, where data were reorganized into domains; and, CONSUMPTION, where data were optimized for rapid retrieval. The diverse systems were integrated into a common IBM Netezza technology. Data filters were defined to accurately capture the Center's patients, and derived data items were created for harmonization across sources. An interactive online query tool, PPIP360, was developed using Microstrategy Analytics. RESULTS Driven by scientific objectives, the PPIP datamart was created, including 33,674 patients, 2,983 protocols, and 3.6 million patient visits from 14 source databases, 164 source tables, and 2,622 source data items. The PPIP360 has 605 data items and 33 metrics across 11 reports and dashboards. Dana-Farber and Boston Children's established a legal data-sharing agreement. The PPIP has supported hundreds of faculty, staff, and projects, including planning clinical trials and informing strategic planning. CONCLUSION The PPIP has successfully harmonized and integrated diagnostic, demographic, laboratory, treatment, clinical outcome, pathology, transplant, meta-protocol, and –omics data, for efficient, daily operational and research activities at Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, and future external sharing.

The Government of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Education and Culture, mandates each university to organize quality education. To produce graduates who meet national standards of higher education (SN-Dikti). Hence, each university must evaluate its performance to know its current condition. Unfortunately, most universities in Indonesia have difficulty in measuring their performance. Therefore, the university becomes difficult to establish a strategic plan forward. This study aims to produce a performance dashboard that can help university leaders evaluate their performance. This Performance Dashboard visualizes Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information from a strategic plan in one screen. This research uses a user-centric approach with four main stages, namely, identification of needs, planning, prototype design, and prototype review to produce the performance dashboard. The Performance Dashboard produces interactive gauge charts (baseline, targets, and performance achievements) so that it can visualize university KPI information. The results of user reviews showed that the KPI visualization by the performance dashboard was declared correct and could be useful as a guide in preparing a self-evaluation.

Business Intelligence Lifecycle is a method for developing effective business intelligence (BI) decision support applications such as the Academic Dashboard. There are six steps in the BI life cycle from the beginning to implementation such as Justification, Planning, Business Analysis, Design, Construction, and Deployment, where each step is developed to be more detailed in accordance with BI's environmental needs (L. T. Moss). Management of tertiary institutions in Indonesia requires appropriate and fast academic reports that make it possible to make strategic decisions and in order to improve the quality of education. Academic evaluations can be presented with the dashboard being easy for decision making. The dashboard is a page that displays graphics as a KPI from an organization and provides everything needed to make key research results [4]. Problems that occur there are a lot of academic data that is stored but when turning it into a report at the time of evaluation academic activities are difficult and require a long time and require monitoring, evaluation and measurement tools that can measure the performance of universities. The Business Intelligence Lifecycle can be used to provide information to produce high resolution by adding KPI components.

Crop production is only profitable when all information is known about a specific crop. This information is turned into profitable yield through efficient management technologies and critical decision-making. Efficient management can only be done with the help of yield monitoring technologies, with the goal to optimize natural, human, and material resources while maximizing crop yield efficiency. Yield monitoring technologies works using sensors systems and ensure accuracy of yield. The sensor system detects every aspect of a potential yield in seconds and has also the ability to measure yield values from raw data. and set formulas. Some sellers in traditional markets already have a hybrid selling strategy by utilizing Shopee marketplaces to survive this pandemic. The problem is that the marketing strategy carried out by online sellers is not enough to just upload photos and product descriptions or just wait for buyers because these strategies have not produced optimal results. Based on these problems, this community service program is aimed at providing assistance regarding various strategies and breakthroughs to explore and determine sales strategies through data analytics, market research, product marketing segmentation, product advertising, and advertising performance review analysis. This strategy can be done through the use of an analytics dashboard and product advertising using Iklanku provided by Shopee marketplace. A participatory action research was used in this community service program with two main approaches; problem solving and participation. The program implemented includes identification of partner problems, activity planning, implementation and assistance of activities, monitoring and evaluation of activities. The results of this program show that partners have skills in detecting the similarity of their products with competitors in the Shopee marketplace by using product research methods. The product advertising method using Iklanku Shopee marketplace that has been practised can significantly increase products reach to customers compared to without using advertisement features. In addition, the analytics dashboard and advertising statistics can help review the number of visitors, the number of clicks, and the percentage of visitor clicks up to 5.99%. Information Technology is a part of strategic part for enterprise strategic planning. Information Technology can help the enterprise to determine its strategic planning. Through data from the past, thecompany can learn something and help to decide some strategic issue. A Multistore Company in Yogyakarta has more than five stores. The problem raises to generate real-time sales reporting. Sales manager and owner do not have access to real-time sales condition. To ease management analyzing and reporting sales condition, dimension model of the sales data needs to be built. This dimension model will help to make executive report from some dimensions mentioned in data warehouse. Sales data will pass through some processes: Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) in order to prepare the data warehouse. This process is preprocessing data before dimensional model is built. In this research multi-dimensional modelling by taking data from 3 stores ranging from 1 February 2014 to 31 January 2015. By implementing sales executive dashboard, it helps to monitor and analyze sales condition. Dashboard shows graphic which ease user, especially sales manager and owner to learn current and updated sales condition based on dimensions: time, outlet / store, and product. Report gives detail information and multidimensionalhelps to analyze data from different perspective. Index Terms—Dashboard, Multi Dimentional Model, ETL, Executive Reporting REFERENCES[1] W. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat aplikasi Dashboard Strategic untuk merencanakan kapasitas pembangkit listrik di Pulau Madura berdasarkan pemodelan sistem dinamik.

AbstractIn a broad scope, the term Information System (IS) is a scientific field of research study that approaches the scope of managerial, strategic, and operational activities complex in the storing, processing, distributing, gathering, and utilizing of knowledge and its associated technologies in organizations and industry. The model of railway supplier selection using BI-KM framework is situated on a horizontal structure of the organization and its technology transformation to execute the organization goal, with technology as enabler and driver (technology adoption), organization as the principal environment (business process analysis), and Information Management (data modeling). This study is significant in supporting data scenarios by focusing on the heuristic view of an industry approach to problem-solving management issues. Furthermore, the research development was to identify integrated framework adoption that contributes to strategic performance diagnostics dashboard. By understanding the factors of theoretical framework adoption, these conceptual frameworks assure competitive advantage. Besides, this railway supplier selection excellence model analyzed the extent and provides a potential solution to strategic decision-making issues. The study directs to regulate the adoption of the theoretical framework towards conceptual framework by using the role of Business Intelligence (BI) to analyze the quality of data presented as the railway supplier selection criteria from operational management through data analytics. Moreover, this will be united to help the best cycles and instruments in essential execution by the executives of a railway supplier selection dashboard for simulating data as interactive supplier performance.

Modeling and Simulation (M&S) is a relatively unused research approach in forced migration studies. In most of its application areas, M&S is applied in several broad thematic policy-oriented topics: predicting human movement, humanitarian logistics, communicable diseases, healthcare, policing, and economics. More recently, there has been increased use of M&S in predicting human movement and health impacts resulting from climate change. Computer modeling has benefits for both policy and theoretical advancements in the field. M&S is often associated as a predictive tool that appeals to policymakers and planners. But M&S has many other significant benefits. For policymakers and planners, M&S provides a simulated environment to explore “what-if” scenarios. These scenarios can be adjusted to reflect different assumptions and conditions in the field. M&S can provide a means for translating interpretivist research findings—themselves rich in descriptions of actors, relationships, and dynamics—into visual artifacts that can communicate results to policymakers. It also can help to test the assumptions of theoretical findings, explore generalizability to other cases and conditions, and inform future data collection efforts. On the other hand, because models can take a long time to construct and test, they cannot provide rapid insights about evolving situations to inform decision-making at the onset of a new emergency. Data dashboards, the staple of modern humanitarian operations, are better for identifying emergent needs and tracking efforts. However, modeling what we know from one situation allows us to use those insights in systematic and strategic ways to improve operations for the future. M&S can also provide researchers with an additional tool that allows improved integration of multiple data types and sources. These data, assumptions, and theoretical constructs can be linked together in a complex, nonlinear, dynamic system that can then be set in motion to see if the simulated world reveals phenomena that are witnessed in the real world. But interdisciplinary communication and collaboration is hard and finding modelers who value interpretivist research can be even harder. M&S is not a silver bullet but provides a unique approach that incorporates dynamics and is becoming increasingly accessible to policymakers, practitioners, and academics, including those without computer programing experience. For policy, it is important to invest the time and resources to develop simulation models—from simple to complex—that help when planning for the evolution of events, or for the next event. Models of current refugee situations should inform where to concentrate efforts to advance durable solutions and how to plan for potential scenarios of return to countries of origin. Policymakers must recognize the long-term value of modeling what we know now to use later. Researchers of migration should become familiar with M&S paradigms so they can become part of the model design, development, and testing phases—at least part of the conversation. Better integration of migration scholars in design and development has the potential to strengthen models for policymaking, but perhaps more importantly, to strengthen the field by serving as an extra tool for testing theories, assumptions, and generalizability of findings to other locations and situations.

Objective: The increase in demand for hospitalisation in an environment of financial stress has hastened the quest for more efficient healthcare delivery systems. In the past performance management methodologies in the healthcare sector have been predominantly static resulting in a lack of consistency, comparability and timeliness. To mitigate these shortcomings this research work has attempted to create a conceptual framework in the digital dashboard format. Setting: Of the frameworks presently used, the Balanced Scorecard(BSC) is very popular, primarily because the BSC is a management system (not just a measurement system) that helps an organization highlight its vision and translate them into action. Design: The design adopted in this research work is primarily qualitative and exploratory. The methodology includes collating KPIs from published literature, crystallising them using the Delphi Method and applying the Likert-scale to prioritise them. To facilitate visualisation of the prioritised KPIs in the BSC format, the construction of a digital dashboard was envisaged. Results: A dynamic dashboard was created in the BSC format with three Key Performance Indicators(KPI) for each of the four perspectives. Financial: Return on assets, average daily collections and working capital ratio Customer Perspective: Patient satisfaction, lost business – number of appointments not attended and percentage of patients Leaving Against Medical Advice(LAMA) Internal Processes: Billing and collections/posting time, emergency patients triaged within 15 minutes of arrival and patient waiting time Learning And Growth: Empowerment (decision-making & participation), employee satisfaction and strategic alliances/partnerships
