With the deeply development of campus information technology, it needs to store and manage vast amounts of information. However, the information is often stored in different structures of information systems, how to achieve the integration of heterogeneous data sources is the problem to be solved in university information system. In this article, the most commonly used integration technology of heterogeneous data sources is described, and then data source integration patterns which could be used in campus are studied, the design of XML-based integration of heterogeneous data sources and some key technology are in-depth studied.

E-commerce is a trading activity carried out online through a website. Problems in electronic adjunct stores Stores still use a conventional system where if a buyer wants to buy the desired item, the buyer must come directly to the store and this condition makes marketing and sales hampered by distance and time. In addition, the promotion at Arjun Electronics Store has not been fully implemented properly because it is only done by directly informing buyers who come to the shop. the purpose of this research is to produce a system that can provide ease of introducing products in the electronic adjuncts and sell all electronic products for household needs. With e-commerce site that is able to provide information about goods to customers quickly through internet network technology. Where asthe FAST method is a fairly flexible framework for various types of projects and strategies. System development with the FAST method is carried out sequentially which includes the stages of scope definition, problem analysis, needs analysis, logical design, decision analysis, physical design and integration, construction and testing, insralation and delivery, The results of this study in the form of website-based e-commerce optimization. With this website, stores can expand marketing, consumers become easier to get information about goods without having to come to the Electronic Adjunct Store and with the (e-commerce), the store can facilitate the conventional transaction process that has been conventional to be modern and can certainly make it easier to create sales reports that were previously still manual.

The paper deals with current issues of spatial data modelling and management used by spatial management applications. As a case study for explaining the problem, we use comparison of two main groups of software tools covering this area GIS and CAD systems - and the posibilities of their integration. Studying its functionality, we have found two main problematic issues. The first of them is the density distribution characteristics of stored data according to described area. CAD systems are oriented towards modeling individual man-made objects and structures with relatively high level of detail, so the data stored covers small areas with huge amount of information. On the other side GIS applications maintain large-scale models of real world with significantly lower amount of detail. Here the density distribution of data coverage is better balanced. So the combination of described different densities is the first problem. The second watched issue is the way of storing spatial data. While CAD data are usually stored in individual files (like DXF, IGES), GIS data tend to be stored in files or realtional databases. The question we see is, if it is possible to store CAD data along with GIS data in the same database in spite of different distribution densities and different data models. Our paper describes ways of solving this problem.

To solve virtual access to distributed oil-gas field data, a new distributed data access model is used to virtual data access center integration platform in oil-gas field.By introducing multi-task cooperative agent (MTCA-DDA), collaboration of MTCA-DDA can efficiently solve distributed data access collaboration problem. Failure server scheme guarantees distributed data continous access. Periodic exchange and data cache mechanism greatly improve data distributed store and access speed.Virtual data access center integration platform shows MTCA-DDA model can improve data access efficiency and enhance the reliability of data access.MTCA-DDA model with periodic exchange and data cache can effectively solve storage and reliability of massive distributed data access and provides a new way for similar distributed application.

Many applications are developed on education domain. Information and data for each application are stored in distributed locations with different data representations on each database. This situation leads to heterogeneity at the level of integration data. Heterogeneity data may cause many problems. One major issue is about the semantic relationships data among applications on education domain, in which the learning data may have the same name but with a different meaning, or learning data that has a different name with same meaning. This paper discusses on semantic data mapping process to handle semantic relationships problem on education domain. There are two main parts in the semantic data mapping process. The first part is the semantic data mapping engine to produce data mapping language with turtle (.ttl) file format as a standard XML file schema, that can be used for Local Java Application using Jena Library and Triple Store. The Turtle file contains detail information about data schema of every application inside the database system. The second part is to provide D2R Server that can be accessed from outside environment using HTTP Protocol. This can be done using SPARQL Clients, Linked Data Clients (RDF Formats) and HTML Browser. To implement the semantic data process, this paper focuses on the student grading system in the learning environment of education domain. By following the proposed semantic data mapping process, the turtle file format is produced as a result of the first part of the process. Finally, this file is used to be combined and integrated with other turtle files in order to map and link with other data representation of other applications.

The main purpose of the integration of network media and middle school ideological and political course is to better realize the moral education function of middle school ideological and political development. The use of resource integration technology to manage distributed teaching resources is conducive to improving the level of information construction in colleges and universities, and so on. This paper puts forward the integration system of ideological and political multimedia network teaching resources based on wireless network. Firstly, it presents an overview of the Radio Resource Management (RRM) problem and projected strategies within wireless network framework, where several Radio Access Technologies (RATs) are collectively controlled and identify the different activities relating to the CRRM issues. Secondly, this paper targets providing a summary of the RRM problem and projected solutions within wireless network. Thirdly, the theoretical elements of the design and the teaching resource management assessment process are clarified by using XML as the data exchange carrier to realize the automatic integration of teaching resources. Fourthly, we have used dSPACE platform, by calling its API function, which then call the subscribe function of dSPACE framework and store the subscription information in the database. Whenever new teaching resources enter the subscribed field, the dSPACE framework will automatically send e-mail to the subscribers. Finally, during the operation of the system, all functions operate normally and have strong security, so as to avoid the illegal theft or leakage of the data about the education system.

Artificial intelligence has been developed since the beginning of IT systems. Today there are many AI techniques that are successfully applied. Most of the AI field is, however, concerned with the so-called “narrow AI” demonstrating intelligence only in specialized areas. There is a need to work on general AI solutions that would constitute a framework enabling the integration of already developed narrow solutions and contribute to solving general problems. In this work, we present a new language that potentially can become a base for building intelligent systems of general purpose in the future. This language is called the General Environment Description Language (GEDL). We present the motivation for our research based on the other works in the field. Furthermore, there is an overall description of the idea and basic definitions of elements of the language. We also present an example of the GEDL language usage in the JSON notation. The example shows how to store the knowledge and define the problem to be solved, and the solution to the problem itself. In the end, we present potential fields of application and future work. This article is an introduction to new research in the field of Artificial General Intelligence.

Due to the rise of many fields such as e-commerce platforms, a large number of stream data has emerged. The incomplete labeling problem and concept drift problem of these data pose a huge challenge to the existing stream data classification methods. In this respect, a dynamic stream data classification algorithm is proposed for the stream data. For the incomplete labeling problem, this method introduces randomization and iterative strategy based on the very fast decision tree VFDT algorithm to design an iterative integration algorithm, and the algorithm uses the previous model classification result as the next model input and implements the voting mechanism for new data classification. At the same time, the window mechanism is used to store data and calculate the data distribution characteristics in the window, then, combined with the calculated result and the predicted amount of data to adjust the size of the sliding window. Experiments show the superiority of the algorithm in classification accuracy. The aim of the study is to compare different algorithms to evaluate whether classification model adapts to the current data environment.

Abstract Concrete is a material that presents time-delayed effects associated with creep and shrinkage phenomena. The numerical modeling of the creep is not trivial because it depends on the age of the concrete at the time of loading, which makes necessary to store the history of loads to apply the principle of superposition. However, a problem formulated in finite elements has many points of integration, making this storage impossible. The Theory of Solidification, together with incremental algorithm developed by Bazant e Prasannan ([1], [2]), solves this problem. Therefore, this paper presents the adaptation of this algorithm to a finite element commercial software (ANSYS) considering the creep, according to the CEB-FIP Model Code 1990 [3]. The results demonstrate that the deformations provided by this adaptation are in accordance with the analytical solution given by the CEB-FIP MC90, including cases where the loads are applied at different ages of the concrete.

To apply neural networks to many engineering applications, large networks will be required. Such networks are difficult to build using standard crystalline silicon technology due to limitations in both the fabrication and packaging processes. An architecture is proposed where amorphous silicon photoresistors are used to store the synaptic weights. A single plate of amorphous silicon is able to contain up to 100 million photoresistors, exploiting readily available fabrication technology. Using an external light source, each photoresistor can be individually adjusted allowing them to be configured as programmable fixed-value resistors. The processing compatibility of polysilicon and amorphous silicon allows the same glass substrate to be used for large-area integration of the photosensors, the analogue neural network and the neurons. The integration of the photosensors and the rest of the network may be used to alleviate the interface problem at the inputs resulting in a design with a very simple architecture that is both elegant and simple to fabricate. This paper describes such a design in which amorphous silicon technology is applied to neural network hardware.

AbstractHuman understanding in design evolves through a process of critiquing existing knowledge and consequently expanding the store of design knowledge. Critiquing is a dialogue in which the interjection of a reasoned opinion about a product or action triggers further reflection on or changes to the artifact being designed. Our work has focused on applying this successful human critiquing paradigm to human-computer interaction. We argue that computer-based critiquing systems are most effective when they are embedded in domain-oriented design environments, which are knowledge-based computer systems that support designers in specifying a problem and constructing a solution. Embedded critics play a number of important roles in such design environments: (1) they increase the designer's understanding of design situations by pointing out problematic situations early in the design process; (2) they support the integration of problem framing and problem solving by providing a linkage between the design specification and the design construction; and (3) they help designers access relevant information in the large information spaces provided by the design environment. Three embedded critiquing mechanisms—generic, specific, and interpretive critics—are presented, and their complementary roles within the design environment architecture are described.

Cities in the big data era hold the massive urban data to create valuable information and digitally enhanced services. Sources of urban data are generally categorized as one of the three types: official, social, and sensorial, which are from the government and enterprises, social networks of citizens, and the sensor network. These types typically differ significantly from each other but are consolidated together for the smart urban services. Based on the sophisticated consolidation approaches, we argue that a new challenge, fragment complexity that represents a well-integrated data has appropriate but fragmentary schema and difficult to be queried, is ignored in the state-of-art urban data management. Comparing with predefined and rigid schema, fragmentary schema means a dataset contains millions of attributes but nonorthogonally distributed among tables, and of course, values of these attributes are even massive. As far as a query is concerned, locating where these attributes are being stored is the first encountered problem, while traditional value-based query optimization has no contributions. To address this problem, we propose an index on massive attributes as an attributes-oriented optimization, namely, attribute index. Attribute index is a secondary index for locating files in which the target attributes are stored. It contains three parts: ATree for searching keys, DTree for locating keys among files, and ADLinks as a mapping table between ATree and DTree. In this paper, the index architecture, logical structure and algorithms, the implementation details, the creation process, the integration to the existing key-value store, and the urban application scenario are described. Experiments show that, in comparison with B + -Tree, LSM-Tree, and AVL-Tree, the query time of ATree is 1.1x, 1.5x, and 1.2x faster, respectively. Finally, we integrate our proposition with HBase, namely, UrbanBase, whose query performance is 1.3x faster than the original HBase.

Today’s mobile networks require integration of the different networks in order to transport data between mobile devices. The main problems of all networks occur if the communication paths are disconnected for a short time. The hybrid MANET-DTN is an evolution of the Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) and Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) and it gives the possibilities of data transport between the disconnected islands of the nodes. The key problem is how to select reliable and secure nodes to transport messages between isolated islands with limited connectivity. The selection of the relay nodes is a critical factor because the data are transported via these devices in hostile environments. Two algorithms for a relay node selection based on trust are introduced. These algorithms are activated if the connections are disrupted. The selected relay nodes transport data across the disconnected environment via store-carry-forward mode. The proposed algorithms enable selecting reliable relay nodes based on collecting routing information and contact history. We introduce the network performance analyses of these algorithms. The main idea of the analyses is studying how the algorithms can affect the behaviour of the routing and forwarding mechanisms in the simulator OPNET modeler.

The advent of molecular tension probes for real-time mapping of piconewton forces in living systems has had a major impact on mechanobiology. For example, DNA-based tension probes have revealed roles for mechanics in platelet, B cell, T cell, and fibroblast function. Nonetheless, imaging short-lived forces transmitted by low-abundance receptors remains a challenge. This is a particular problem for mechanoimmunology where ligand–receptor bindings are short lived, and a few antigens are sufficient for cell triggering. Herein, we present a mechanoselection strategy that uses locking oligonucleotides to preferentially and irreversibly bind DNA probes that are mechanically strained over probes at rest. Thus, infrequent and short-lived mechanical events are tagged. This strategy allows for integration and storage of mechanical information into a map of molecular tension history. Upon addition of unlocking oligonucleotides that drive toehold-mediated strand displacement, the probes reset to the real-time state, thereby erasing stored mechanical information. As a proof of concept, we applied this strategy to study OT-1 T cells, revealing that the T cell receptor (TCR) mechanically samples antigens carrying single amino acid mutations. Such events are not detectable using conventional tension probes. Each mutant peptide ligand displayed a different level of mechanical sampling and spatial scanning by the TCR that strongly correlated with its functional potency. Finally, we show evidence that T cells transmit pN forces through the programmed cell death receptor-1 (PD1), a major target in cancer immunotherapy. We anticipate that mechanical information storage will be broadly useful in studying the mechanobiology of the immune system.

In the era of Big Data, data collection underpins biological research more so than ever before. In many cases this can be as time-consuming as the analysis itself, requiring downloading multiple different public databases, with different data structures, and in general, spending days before answering any biological questions. To solve this problem, we introduce an open-source, cloud-based big data platform, called Sherlock (https://earlham-sherlock.github.io/). Sherlock provides a gap-filling way for biologists to store, convert, query, share and generate biology data, while ultimately streamlining bioinformatics data management. The Sherlock platform provides a simple interface to leverage big data technologies, such as Docker and PrestoDB. Sherlock is designed to analyse, process, query and extract the information from extremely complex and large data sets. Furthermore, Sherlock is capable of handling different structured data (interaction, localization, or genomic sequence) from several sources and converting them to a common optimized storage format, for example to the Optimized Row Columnar (ORC). This format facilitates Sherlock’s ability to quickly and easily execute distributed analytical queries on extremely large data files as well as share datasets between teams. The Sherlock platform is freely available on Github, and contains specific loader scripts for structured data sources of genomics, interaction and expression databases. With these loader scripts, users are able to easily and quickly create and work with the specific file formats, such as JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) or ORC. For computational biology and large-scale bioinformatics projects, Sherlock provides an open-source platform empowering data management, data analytics, data integration and collaboration through modern big data technologies.

The computing power of modern technical equipment allow to solve different scientific and applied problems. The paper considers the practice of organizing special satellite monitoring service with the help of the “IKI-Monitoring” Center for Collective Use. A number of scientific and applied problems often require rapid access to satellite data, that sometimes is impossible because of the need to store all data locally. In this case the Center for Collective Use allows to analyze the long-term archives available online, process them and save the results right on the server or download it to the PC. The technology is now being practiced to organize a number of specialized services and adapt them to the needs of different regions. At the current stage the project is targeted to solve the problem of regular monitoring of water objects in Central Asia. The service is a part of “VEGA-Constellation” information systems set and was called EcoSatMS (Ecosystem Satellite monitoring Service). The paper is focused on the capabilities of “IKI-Monitoring” and its application in framework of the new technology for remote monitoring the parts of river courses, i.e. the integration of virtual hydroposts. Problem: Medical school curriculum continues to search for methods to develop a conceptual educational framework that promotes the storage, retrieval, transfer, and application of basic science to the human experience. To achieve this goal, we propose a metacognitive approach that integrates basic science with the humanistic and health system aspects of medical education. Intervention: During the week, via problem-based learning and lectures, first-year medical students were taught the basic science underlying a disease. Each Friday, a patient with the disease spoke to the class. Students then wrote illness scripts, which required them to metacognitively reflect not only on disease pathophysiology, complications, and treatments but also on the humanistic and health system issues revealed during the patient encounter. Evaluation of the intervention was conducted by measuring results on course exams and national board exams and analyzing free responses on the illness scripts and student course feedback. The course exams and National Board of Medical Examiners questions were divided into 3 categories: content covered in lecture, problem-based learning, or patient + illness script. Comparisons were made using Student t-test. Free responses were inductively analyzed using grounded theory methodology. Context: This curricular intervention was implemented during the first 13-week basic science course of medical school. The main objective of the course, Scientific Principles of Medicine, is to lay the scientific foundation for subsequent organ system courses. A total of 150 students were enrolled each year. We evaluated this intervention over 2 years, totaling 300 students. Outcome: Students scored significantly higher on illness script content compared to lecture content on the course exams (mean difference = 11.1, P = .006) and national board exams given in December (mean difference = 21.8, P = .0002) and June (mean difference = 12.7, P = .016). Themes extracted from students’ free responses included the following: relevance of basic science, humanistic themes of empathy, resilience, and the doctor-patient relationship, and systems themes of cost, barriers to care, and support systems. Lessons learned: A metacognitive approach to learning through the use of patient encounters and illness script reflections creates stronger conceptual frameworks for students to integrate, store, retain, and retrieve knowledge.

Spesielt rettes fokuset mot hvordan globaliseringsprosesser aktualiserer en refortolkning av sosiologiens grunntema, nemlig ordensproblemet. Hvordan tematiseres og begrepsfestes integrasjon i et samfunn som nå kanskje omfavner hele kloden? Når en har verdenssamfunnet som gjenstandsområde, må det utvikles erkjennelsesmessige kategorier som gjør det mulig å reflektere over ontologiske kjennetegn ved, nettopp, verdenssamfunnet. Imidlertid viser det seg å være utfordrende å gi en overbevisende argumentasjon for hvordan verdenssamfunnet henger sammen ved å benytte tradisjonelle sosiologiske begreper. Gjennom en teoretisk diskusjon vil jeg først forsøke å avdekke grunnen til at store deler av sosiologien ikke evner å forklare hvordan et fremvoksende verdenssamfunn i økende grad fremstår som et fellesskap. Deretter vil jeg foreslå at vi nå ser konturene av et verdensomspennende felleskap, forstått som dannelsen av et system rundt forventninger om kollektiv handling for å løse felles problemer. Specifically, I will focus on how globalization processes actualize a reinterpretation of the fundamental theme of sociology – the problem of order. How can integration be conceptualized in a society that now embraces the whole planet? When the object of analysis is world society, concepts must be developed that make it possible to reflect on the ontological characteristics of this society. However, it turns out to be a challenge to provide a convincing description of how world society is integrated by means of traditional sociological insights. I attempt to unfold why sociology is having difficulties explaining how an emerging world society appears as a community. I argue that we can now observe the outline of a worldwide community understood as a system that develops around expectations of collective actions to solve common problems. I illustrate this argument with an analysis of so-called INGOs (International Non-Governmental Organizations) which are particularly important for developing a nascent form of global integration. Worldwide, governments tend to reduce the CO2 emissions, and the storage of the solar energy system is still considered the most challenging problem to solve under the current state. Mainly, in relatively cold countries, as domestic hot water or for heat process services, where the loss in the tank is huge. Any improvement in the design can achieve a higher solar yield. Since water is the usual medium for heat storage, the integration with phase change material (PCM) can store energy when there is abundant energy and release it when it is needed. In this study, we conducted a capsulated PCM soy wax 52⁰C in an insulated water tank filled with 5 litres of water. To estimate the appropriate number of samples and the quantity of the PCM at two temperature levels using the response surface method with non-linear correlation for the charging phase. The results show 3.16, 0.95, 0.38 first degree magnitude effect for temperature, sample numbers, and wax quantity respectively and 0.29, -0.38 second-degree magnitude effect for quantity and temperature. In addition, an illustration of each two-factors interaction contour plots.

Abstract A persistent problem for modern Multi-Processors System-on-Chip (MPSoCs) is their vulnerability to code injection attacks. By tampering the memory content, attackers are able to extract secrets from the MPSoC and to modify or deny the MPSoC’s operation. This work proposes SEPUFSoC (Secure PUF-based SoC), a novel flexible, secure, and fast architecture able to be integrated into any MPSoC. SEPUFSoC prevents execution of unauthorized code as well as data manipulation by ensuring memory integrity and authentication. SEPUFSoC achieves: i) efficiency, through the integration of a fast and lightweight hash function for Message Authentication Code (MAC) generation and integrity verification of the memory lines at runtime; and ii) lightweight security, through the use of a Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) to securely generate and store the cryptographic keys that are used for the application authentication. We discuss the security and performance of SEPUFSoC for single core and multi-core systems. Results show that the SEPUFSoC is a secure, fast, and low overhead solution for MPSoCs. We discuss the SEPUFSoC security and cost, which strongly depends on the PUF and hash selection. In the future, new technologies may allow the exploration of different PUFs.

The security of an application is the most important problem in an information system integration process. The authentication and authorization process is usually carried out using Single Sign On (SSO). Authentication and authorization methods are used to secure data in a system. The authentication and authorization processes are carried out on the client side (web browser) in the form of a session and on the server side (web server) in the form of cookies. Sessions and cookies are valuable assets in the authentication and authorization process because they contain the data required for the login process so that the session and cookies need to be secured. Session is a combination of username and password data that has been encrypted while cookies store login information data so that they are still in a state of gaining access according to the privileges given to the user. So important is the role of sessions and cookies in the authentication and authorization process, so we need a way to secure data on sessions and cookies. One way to secure data is to use the REst API and Auth Token.

Although many tools and databases are currently available for accessing such data, they are left unutilized by bench scientists as they generally lack features for effective analysis and integration of both public and private datasets and do not offer an intuitive interface for use by scientists with limited computational expertise. We describe BioNetwork Bench, an open source, user-friendly suite of database and software tools for constructing, querying, and analyzing gene and protein network models. It enables biologists to analyze public as well as private gene expression; interactively query gene expression datasets; integrate data from multiple networks; store and selectively share the data and results. Finally, we describe an application of BioNetwork Bench to the assembly and iterative expansion of a gene network that controls the differentiation of retinal progenitor cells into rod photoreceptors. The tool is available from http://bionetworkbench.sourceforge.net/ Background The emergence of high-throughput technologies has allowed many biological investigators to collect a great deal of information about the behavior of genes and gene products over time or during a particular disease state. There are a growing number of public databases, as well as tools for visualization and analysis of networks. However, such databases and tools have yet to be widely utilized by bench scientists, as they generally lack features for effective analysis and integration of both public and private datasets and do not offer an intuitive interface for use by biological scientists with limited computational expertise. Results We describe BioNetwork Bench, an open source, user-friendly suite of database and software tools for constructing, querying, and analyzing gene and protein network models. BioNetwork Bench currently supports a broad class of gene and protein network models (eg, weighted and un-weighted, undirected graphs, multi-graphs). It enables biologists to analyze public as well as private gene expression, macromolecular interaction and annotation data; interactively query gene expression datasets; integrate data from multiple networks; query multiple networks for interactions of interest; store and selectively share the data as well as results of analyses. BioNetwork Bench is implemented as a plug-in for, and hence is fully interoperable with, Cytoscape, a popular open-source software suite for visualizing macromolecular interaction networks. Finally, we describe an application of BioNetwork Bench to the problem of assembly and iterative expansion of a gene network that controls the differentiation of retinal progenitor cells into rod photoreceptors. Conclusions BioNetwork Bench provides a suite of open source software for construction, querying, and selective sharing of gene and protein networks. Although initially aimed at a community of biologists interested in retinal development, the tool can be adapted easily to work with other biological systems simply by populating the associated database with the relevant datasets.

The aim of this study is to develop a hand dynamometer that can act as a rehabilitation device by acquiring quantified data to enhance the power of hand grip strength. On the whole, patient that suffers from the hand injury is directly exposed to intricacy when performing daily task. Therefore, many hand aids have been developed to overcome the problem. A typical hand assistive device is able to measure the hand grip strength, which eventually increases its functionality. Like hand dynamometer, it is used for regular screening of hand grip strength and also for the preliminary and ongoing assessment of patients with hand dysfunction or trauma. Strain gauge-based system transducer acts as the measurement system together with Arduino microcontroller for the instrumentation, communication and controlling applications. The integration of strain gauges with a transducer is called a load cell which also made up the overall of force sensor to obtain readings from the hand grip movement. Microcontroller will further use this information to store and analyze data in the SD card. The percentage difference observed between hands across the sample of 25 subjects support the 10% rule. An overall 10.74% difference was found when combined dominant and non-dominant hand strength scores for all subjects were observed.

High-pressure hydrogen tanks which are composed of an aluminum alloy liner and a carbon fiber wound layer are currently the most popular means to store hydrogen on vehicles. Nevertheless, the aluminum alloy is easily affected by high-pressure hydrogen, which leads to the appearance of hydrogen embrittlement (HE). Serious HE of hydrogen tank represents a huge dangers to the safety of vehicles and passengers. It is critical and timely to outline the mainstream approach and point out potential avenues for further investigation of HE. An analysis, including the mechanism (including hydrogen-enhanced local plasticity model, hydrogen-enhanced decohesion mechanism and hydrogen pressure theory), the detection (including slow strain rate test, linearly increasing stress test and so on) and methods for the prevention of HE on aluminum alloys of hydrogen vehicles (such as coating) are systematically presented in this work. Moreover, the entire experimental detection procedures for HE are expounded. Ultimately, the prevention measures are discussed in detail. It is believed that further prevention measures will rely on the integration of multiple prevention methods. Successfully solving this problem is of great significance to reduce the risk of failure of hydrogen storage tanks and improve the reliability of aluminum alloys for engineering applications in various industries including automotive and aerospace.

Through an in-depth study and analysis of the integration of media literacy with distance education management using the DNN algorithm in the context of participatory culture, and the design of a distance education management system for application in actual teaching, the word embedding model is used to embed the ratings and tags, respectively; then, the self-encoder is used to extract textual features for item tags, while DNN is used to extract features for user tagging behaviors; finally, the fully connected neural network is used to predict ratings for the fused user and item features. The experimental results show that the optimized recommendation model effectively reduces the user rating prediction error while alleviating the cold start problem. A blockchain-based learning platform is designed. The purpose is to solve the contradiction between centralized storage and social trust, and to transfer the management of educational certification resources from centralized control management to distributed control management. This platform can record in stages a variety of verification information and course certificate information collected by students in the process of learning courses, create course certificates containing digital summaries of learning information, and store them on the chain to ensure the integrity and traceability of data in the learning process. This paper implements a blockchain-based online education system, which ensures that system data will not be maliciously queried and dynamically changed by management.

To support all phases of an agile modular manufacturing machine life cycle with CAE and Virtual Manufacturing tools, a number of different engineering applications (e.g. specialist software based tools) are typically used for design, simulation, analysis, programming, control and monitoring of a machine. These applications mainly exist today as small applications islands where each of them manages their own data. When a manufacturing machine is designed, simulated, programmed, analyzed, tested, or operated, the information, connected to that specific machine, used and generated by each application island is stored separately by each application. These application islands often use different storage technologies. Each one of the applications has an information structure to separate the information connected to each machine; however, they do not necessarily use the same information structure. Another issue concerning these applications is the functionality that is implemented in them to manage information; namely, processes such as store, retrieve, search, permissions, etc. The functionality for one process is the same in all applications that has the process implemented. But the implementation of the process functionality may differ, due to misinterpretation of the functionality specification and regular implementation bugs, which could lead to problem with integrity and consistency of the data. Applications that make use of newer information technologies, such as databases and software development tools can simplify the implementation of the functionality but each application still has to implement their own version of the functionality. This paper presents a research investigation focused on the development of a distributed integration platform that supports the whole life cycle of agile modular machine systems, which includes the design, simulation, programming, analysis, machine operation and re-configuration. The environment supports distributed management and storage of information in a system-wide library, information management and storage that is machine oriented, not application oriented, and information storage structured as reusable components to enable reuse of information and know-how that is produced throughout the life cycle of machines.

The present paper proposes an integrated production–distribution planning approach for a textile and apparel supply chain. Tactical and operational decisions are considered in the proposed multi-product and multi-period planning problem. Using a rolling horizon, the approach aims at defining optimal quantities to produce, to store and to deliver. The integration consists in coordinating informational flows between producer and retailer. Information sharing will allow the producer to estimate more accurately the future replenishment orders that may happen at the operational level and adjust production capacity requirements accordingly. For this purpose, a two-stage planning approach is devised; the first stage deals with the tactical level while the second stage deals with the operational level. The monthly decisions taken at the tactical planning level are accounted for in the operational planning considering a variable rolling horizon. Moreover, accurate forecasts of future replenishment orders are established based on information sharing and introduced in the operational planning to determine the weekly decisions. Linear programming models are used to build production and distribution plans at the tactical and operational levels. Using real-life data from a textile and apparel Tunisian firm, we show that producer-retailer coordination based on the sharing of current sales information, yields significant cost savings reaching up to 20% of the supply chain cost. These findings can only motivate the partnership between producer and retailer through reliable information sharing in joint tactical-operational and production–distribution planning.

However, the new systems still offer benefits and limits that will influence certain nations' choice to accept this platform owing to their unique requirements and circumstances. The earliest electronic health records were developed in the early 1960s to store long-term patient data. However, it was not maintained since the system's foundation is very demanding, and medical practitioners stopped utilizing it. After a decade, the growth of technology was unavoidable, gradually altering areas such as business and healthcare. However, every development has ramifications. The implementation of the new system may enhance organizational performance, but there are still uncertainties, notably about sustainability and how it will affect the firm in the future. Now, sufficient medical documentation has long been a source of contention in the healthcare industry, and management should begin introducing new processes to address the underlying problem. If the government already has a system in place to ensure the country's long-term existence, this system should be used to ensure the consistency of each patient's medical records. Will an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) adaptation in the Philippines, a third-world nation with a poor healthcare system, be the best option to modify and enhance medical care quality?

The vehicle-to-grid concept emerged very quickly after the integration of renewable energy resources because of their intermittency and to support the grid during on-peak periods, consequently preventing congestion and any subsequent grid instability. Renewable energies offer a large source of clean energy, but they are not controllable, as they depend on weather conditions. This problem is solved by adding energy storage elements, implementing a demand response through shiftable loads, and the vehicle-to-grid/vehicle-to-home technologies. Indeed, an electric vehicle is equipped with a high-capacity battery, which can be used to store a certain amount of energy and give it back again later when required to fulfill the electricity demand and prevent an energy shortage when the main-grid power is limited for security reasons. In this context, this paper presents a comparative study between two home microgrids, in one of which the concept of vehicle-to-home is integrated to provide a case study to demonstrate the interest of this technology at the home level. The considered microgrid is composed of renewable energy resources, battery energy storage, and is connected to the main grid. As the vehicle is not available all day, in order to have consistent results, its intervention is considered in the evening, night, and early morning hours. Two case studies are carried out. In the first one, the vehicle-to-home concept is not taken into account. In this case, the system depends only on renewable resources and the energy storage system. Subsequently, the electric vehicle is considered as an additional energy storage device over a few hours. Electric vehicle integration brings an economic contribution by reducing the cost, supporting the other MG components, and relieving the main grid. Simulation results using real weather data for two cities in France, namely Brest and Toulon, show the effectiveness of the vehicle-to-home concept in terms of cost, energy self-sufficiency, and continuity of electrical service.

One of the e-health applications is a Clinic SIM and electronic medical records. Not only provides information for the academic communities, but Udayana University Clinic also serves BPJS Kesehatan patients since 2014. After occupying a new building, there have been various obstacles related to the implementation of the management information system. Which it is still being done manually and limited space to store medical record files. One of the efforts to overcome this problem is by implementing a Clinic SIM and ERM. Before the implementation of these activities, a feasibility study was proposed on the application of CSIM and ERM integrated BPJS Healthcare. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of implementing Clinic SIM and ERM which are integrated with Pcare-BPJS at Udayana University Clinic. This study used a qualitative research design. Data collection was started between December 2019 and January 2020 using the in-depth interview method on 9 informants. This study informs that the application of Clinic SIM and ERM integrated BPJS Kesehatan meets the feasibility aspect based on acceptance, demand, integration, and practicality. Conclusion: the obstacles in this study are related to the implementation aspect due to lack of human resources, infrastructure, implementation methods, budget, and minimal application of Clinic SIM and ERM. Owing to several advantages of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) like less noise, emission less, good efficiency and the reduced cost has attention to the governments, researchers and manufactures in recent time. The Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) plays a vital role in replacement of conventional vehicles in future, because of penetration of renewable energy resources in conventional generation. The modernized of micro grid is happening due to usage of clean energy for EV charging. The cost of electric vehicle charging is challenging issue in the development of plug-in electric vehicle. The coordination between renewable generation and conventional generation is very much needed in near future. The dynamic nature of renewable energy resources causes frequent interrupts in electric vehicle charging. The problem of nonlinear power generation with renewable resources is overcome by electric vehicle battery storage system which enables the EV battery to charge during low demand period and gets discharged into the micro grid during high demand periods. This paper developed an optimal schedule for stationary Plug-in Electric Vehicle charging in operation with micro grid. The obtained optimal schedule provides balance between active and reactive power in generation and load as well. The integration of renewable energy resources is achieved through solar, wind in Vehicle-2-Grid (V2G) approach which is used to safeguard to renewable energy resources by store additional energy produced during peak load period and feeding back to the micro grid during low load period. As a result the stable operation of the micro grid and EV charging with low cost is achieved in this paper.

In the digital transformation era, increasingly more individuals and organizations use or create services in digital spaces. Many business transactions have been moving from the offline to online mode. For example, sellers intend to introduce their products on e-commerce platforms rather than display them on store shelves as in traditional business. Although this new format business has advantages, such as more space for product displays, more efficient searches for a specific item, and providing a good tool for both buyers and sellers to manage their products, it is also accompanied by the obviously important problem that users are confused when choosing an appropriate item due to a large amount of information. For this reason, the need for a recommendation system appears. Informally, a recommender system is similar to an information filtering system that helps identify a set of items that best satisfy users' demands based on their preference profiles. The integration of contextual information (e.g., location, weather conditions, and user's mood) into recommender systems to improve their performance has recently received considerable attention in the research literature. However, incorporating such contextual information into recommendation models is a challenging task because of the increase in both the dimensionality and sparsity of the model. Different approaches with their own advantages and disadvantages have been proposed. This paper provides a comprehensive survey on context-aware recommender systems in recent years. In particular, the authors pay more attention to journal and conference proceedings papers published from 2016 to 2020. In addition, this paper also presents open issues for context-aware recommender systems and discuss promising directions for future research.

This design study is a way of optimizing the achievement of the message of the Covid-19 pandemic response campaign in Surakarta, which is applied to social media in the form of digital stickers on the instant messaging platform for the Post-Millennial generation group in Surakarta. Punakawan as a visual communication strategy with cultural insights in the midst of a pandemic situation, is adjusted to post-millennial visual references, so that messages are easy to remember, effective, and well conveyed. This design study will design instant messaging chat stickers for the millennial generation as a campaign for handling Covid-19 in the city of Surakarta, so that qualitative ethnographic methods are carried out, with the stages of gathering information in the city of Surakarta aimed at the post-millennial generation group in the form of observation, interviews, and problem identification. , the planning stage by determining the main ideas through analysis, integration, abstraction, using a visual rhetorical approach, synthesis and selection stages, then the following realization of prototype trials, and implementation of digital stickers on communication technology 4.0 on Google Paly Store as monetizing. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), defined as the process that involves sensing, computing, and decision making to assess the integrity of infrastructure, has been plagued by data management challenges. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), a subset of Internet of Things (IoT), provides a way to decisively address SHM’s big data problem and provide a framework for autonomous processing. The key focus of IIoT is operational efficiency and cost optimization. The purpose, therefore, of the IIoT approach in this investigation is to develop a framework that connects nondestructive evaluation sensor data with real-time processing algorithms on an IoT hardware/software system to provide diagnostic capabilities for efficient data processing related to SHM. Specifically, the proposed IIoT approach is comprised of three components: the Cloud, the Fog, and the Edge. The Cloud is used to store historical data as well as to perform demanding computations such as off-line machine learning. The Fog is the hardware that performs real-time diagnostics using information received both from sensing and the Cloud. The Edge is the bottom level hardware that records data at the sensor level. In this investigation, an application of this approach to evaluate the state of health of an aerospace grade composite material at laboratory conditions is presented. The key link that limits human intervention in data processing is the implemented database management approach which is the particular focus of this manuscript. Specifically, a NoSQL database is implemented to provide live data transfer from the Edge to both the Fog and Cloud. Through this database, the algorithms used are capable to execute filtering by classification at the Fog level, as live data is recorded. The processed data is automatically sent to the Cloud for further operations such as visualization. The system integration with three layers provides an opportunity to create a paradigm for intelligent real-time data quality management.

Since large amount of geospatial data are produced by various sources and stored in incompatible formats, geospatial data integration is difficult because of the shortage of semantics. Despite standardised data format and data access protocols, such as Web Feature Service (WFS), can enable end-users with access to heterogeneous data stored in different formats from various sources, it is still time-consuming and ineffective due to the lack of semantics. To solve this problem, a prototype to implement the geospatial data integration is proposed by addressing the following four problems, i.e., geospatial data retrieving, modeling, linking and integrating. First, we provide a uniform integration paradigm for users to retrieve geospatial data. Then, we align the retrieved geospatial data in the modeling process to eliminate heterogeneity with the help of Karma. Our main contribution focuses on addressing the third problem. Previous work has been done by defining a set of semantic rules for performing the linking process. However, the geospatial data has some specific geospatial relationships, which is significant for linking but cannot be solved by the Semantic Web techniques directly. We take advantage of such unique features about geospatial data to implement the linking process. In addition, the previous work will meet a complicated problem when the geospatial data sources are in different languages. In contrast, our proposed linking algorithms are endowed with translation function, which can save the translating cost among all the geospatial sources with different languages. Finally, the geospatial data is integrated by eliminating data redundancy and combining the complementary properties from the linked records. We mainly adopt four kinds of geospatial data sources, namely, OpenStreetMap(OSM), Wikmapia, USGS and EPA, to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed linking method can get high performance in generating the matched candidate record pairs in terms of Reduction Ratio(RR), Pairs Completeness(PC), Pairs Quality(PQ) and F-score. The integrating results denote that each data source can get much Complementary Completeness(CC) and Increased Completeness(IC).

Purpose This paper aims to explain how the EU projects its own data protection regime to third states and the US in particular. Digital services have become a central element in the transatlantic economy. A substantial part of that trade is associated with the transfer of data, most of it personal, requiring many of the new products and services emerging to adhere to data protection standards. Yet different conceptions of data protection exist across the Atlantic, with the EU putting a particular focus on protecting the fundamental right to privacy. Design/methodology/approach Using the distinction between positive and negative forms of market integration as a starting point (Scharpf, 1997), this paper examines the question of how the EU is projecting its own data protection regime to third states. The so-called California effect (Vogel, 1997) and the utilization of trade agreements in the EU’s foreign policy and external relations are well researched. With decreasing effectiveness and limited territorial reach of its enlargement policy, the EU found trade agreements to be particularly effective to set standards on a global level (Lavenex and Schimmelfennig, 2009). The existence of the single market makes the Union not only an important locus of regulation but also a strong economic actor with the global ambition of digital assertiveness. In the past, establishing standards for the EU’s vast consumer market has proven effective in compelling non-European market participants to join. Findings As the globe’s largest consumer market, Europe aims to project its own data protection laws through the market place principle (lex loci solutionis), requiring any data processor to follow its laws whenever European customers’ data are processed. This paper argues that European data protection law creates a “California Effect”, whereby the EU exerts pressure on extra-territorial markets by unilateral standard setting. Originality/value With its GDPR, the EU may have defused the problem of European citizens’ data being stored and evaluated according to the US law. However, it has also set a precedent of extra-territorial applicability of its legislation – despite having previously criticized the USA for such practices. By now, international companies increasingly store data of European customers in Europe to prevent conflicts with EU law. With this decision, the EU will apply its own law on others’ sovereign territory. Conflicts created through the extra-territorial effects of national law may contradict the principle of due diligence obligations but are nevertheless not illegitimate. They may, however, have further unintended effects: Other major economies are likely to be less reluctant in the future about passing legal provisions with extra-territorial effect.

Sales forecasting is one of the most important issues in managing information technology (IT) chain store sales since an IT chain store has many branches. Integrating feature extraction method and prediction tool, such as support vector regression (SVR), is a useful method for constructing an effective sales forecasting scheme. Independent component analysis (ICA) is a novel feature extraction technique and has been widely applied to deal with various forecasting problems. But, up to now, only the basic ICA method (i.e., temporal ICA model) was applied to sale forecasting problem. In this paper, we utilize three different ICA methods including spatial ICA (sICA), temporal ICA (tICA), and spatiotemporal ICA (stICA) to extract features from the sales data and compare their performance in sales forecasting of IT chain store. Experimental results from a real sales data show that the sales forecasting scheme by integrating stICA and SVR outperforms the comparison models in terms of forecasting error. The stICA is a promising tool for extracting effective features from branch sales data and the extracted features can improve the prediction performance of SVR for sales forecasting.

With the massive arrival of personal and accessible digital tools (computers, nomadic equipment such as mobile phones and digital tablets, etc…), multiple online spaces are emerging on the Internet (discussion forums, e-learning platforms, blogs, messaging, chats, social networks like Facebook, online information sharing sites, etc…). E-learning offers features that differentiate it from others media objects such as books or television. e-learning offers quick, even instant, access to a multitude of information sources. They make it possible to store them and facilitate the possibilities of networking between individuals and groups of individuals whatever the time and place. Access to the Internet information network is "universal". You only need to connect to a computer on the network to access almost this entire network. Access is also "simultaneous" because each Internet user exists on the network in the form of information by "his digital presence", by the data that he moves or deposits and the interactions caused. We can also say that access is independent of time and distance since it is a space permanently open to human activity. Developing an e-learning application for each technology requires a lot of human resources and technical knowledge. To solve this problem we propose a development of an e-learning application according to a model-driven architecture approach. This paper is a development of our work in paper [Srai,2020].

The Russian State Library and the National Library of Russia launched a joint project aimed at publishing the library data of the libraries that are the members of the National Digital Library, in accordance with the principles of Linked Open Data. This project will provide access to bibliographic information stored in several of the largest libraries of Russia, in the form suitable for automatic processing. The data set consists of tens of millions of records. A number of urgent problems have to be solved during the process of semantic integration, such as the development of the domain ontology, the conversion of library data from various MARC-formats to RDF, publication of data and provision of SPARQL access points to the data. Public access to one of the world's largest array of bibliographic information with the possibility to detect semantically related data will contribute to the development of culture as a whole and also of specific areas of publishing industry.

In this paper, a new 34-storey residential building with solar energy design is taken for example to probe new ways for solar collectors, energy saving and distribution system. A new system is designed to solve the following problems: inadequate roof area for collecting solar energy, energy loss by long-distance heat transporting, and defacing building appearance by setting solar energy facilities on building surface. And to archive the aim of suitably using solar energy, the integration of solar energy facilities with building facade is also discussed.

Information entropy has been widely applied to assess and analyze landscape ecology. Results from previous studies were the indicators only, not able to describe the spatial distribution of the landscape. In this article, the application results of information entropy in the assessment of ecological landscapes in Sa Pa district, one of the highest mountainous area in Vietnam, based on GIS (Geographical Information System) were simulated. GIS technology was used to store information of layers on landscape structure, indicator analysis, and a map-layer assessment. Results of information entropy were simulated by the map evaluation. Results from this work showed the landscape diversity in Sa Pa zone. The Shannon-Weaver diversity index was over 1.5. The connectivity level of natural forests increased 234.21ha; simulation results by GIS were identified two suitable groups of landscapes to protect and develop forest ecology.

Integrating data from multiple heterogeneous data sources entails dealing with data distributed among heterogeneous information sources, which can be structured, semi-structured or unstructured, and providing the user with a unified view of these data. Thus, in general, gathering information is challenging, and one of the main reasons is that data sources are designed to support specific applications. Very often their structure is unknown to the large part of users. Moreover, the stored data is often redundant, mixed with information only needed to support enterprise processes, and incomplete with respect to the business domain. Collecting, integrating, reconciling and efficiently extracting information from heterogeneous and autonomous data sources is regarded as a major challenge. In this paper, we present an approach for the semantic integration of heterogeneous data sources, DIF (Data Integration Framework), and a software prototype to support all aspects of a complex data integration process. The proposed approach is an ontology-based generalization of both Global-as-View and Local-as-View approaches. In particular, to overcome problems due to semantic heterogeneity and to support interoperability with external systems, ontologies are used as a conceptual schema to represent both data sources to be integrated and the global view.

Summary Objectives: The increasing production of molecular biology data in the post-genomic era, and the proliferation of databases that store it, require the development of an integrative layer in database services to facilitate the synthesis of related information. The solution of this problem is made more difficult by the absence of universal identifiers for biological entities, and the breadth and variety of available data. Methods: Integr8 was modelled using UML (Universal Modelling Language). Integr8 is being implemented as an n-tier system using a modern object-oriented programming language (Java). An object-relational mapping tool, OJB, is being used to specify the interface between the upper layers and an underlying relational database. Results: The European Bioinformatics Institute is launching the Integr8 project. Integr8 will be an automatically populated database in which we will maintain stable identifiers for biological entities, describe their relationships with each other (in accordance with the central dogma of biology), and store equivalences between identified entities in the source databases. Only core data will be stored in Integr8, with web links to the source databases providing further information. Conclusions: Integr8 will provide the integrative layer of the next generation of bioinformatics services from the EBI. Web-based interfaces will be developed to offer gene-centric views of the integrated data, presenting (where known) the links between genome, proteome and phenotype.

Solid (social linked data) technology has made significant progress in social web applications developed, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Wikipedia. Solid is based on semantic web and RDF (Resource Description Framework) technologies. Solid platforms can provide decentralized authentication, data management, and developer support in the form of libraries and web applications. However, thus far, little research has been conducted on understanding the problems involved in sharing public transportation data through Solid technology. It is challenging to provide personalized and adaptable public transportation services for citizens because the public transportation data originate from different devices and are heterogeneous in nature. A novel approach is proposed in this study, in order to provide personalized sharing of public transportation data between different users through integrating and sharing these heterogeneous data. This approach not only integrates diverse data types into a uniform data type using the semantic web but also stores these data in a personal online data store and retrieves data through SPARQL on the Solid platform; these data are visualized on the web pages using Google Maps. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to apply Solid in public transportation. Furthermore, we conduct performance tests of the new C2RMF (CSV to RDF Mapping File) algorithm and functional and non-functional tests to demonstrate the stability and effectiveness of the approach. Our results indicate the feasibility of the proposed approach in facilitating public transportation data integration and sharing through Solid and semantic web technologies.

The authors decided to divide the text into two parts, the first of which consists of the theoretical and historical approach to the problem of the legitimacy of European integration and the narrative about Europe, and the second presents the main conclusions and problems identified during the work of authors with the youth, and the implementation of the international Jean Monnet Network project MoreEU: More Europe to overcome the crisis. Confrontation of these two parts has made it clear that traditional justification of the legitimacy of the integration project does not speak to the contemporary youth, and that this is precisely in this age group that we can clearly see the crisis of the legitimacy of the European Union.

Introduktion til forandringer i bygge- og anlægsbranchens arbejdsliv strukturer, processer og problem- D e stillinger, mennesker oplever i deres arbejdsliv, vil blandt andet være præget af den branche, de arbejder i. Selvfølgelig kan man finde mange problemstillinger, som går på tværs af brancheskel, men den sammensatte helhed, som arbejdslivet udgør, er dog ofte præget af en bestemt branchemæssig kombination af forhold. Derfor kan det give god mening at fokusere på en enkelt branche, når man ønsker at forstå arbejdslivets komplekse sammenhænge. Dette temanummer har fokus på bygge- og anlægsbranchen. Det er en branche, der er præget af stor foranderlighed på en række parametre. arbejdsstedet ændrer sig ofte for de ansatte i branchen. Når en op-gave er færdig, betyder det som oftest, at man rykker til et nyt sted og en ny opgave. Samtidig er branchen præget af stor jobomsætning. Mange arbejdstagere bevæger sig hvert år ud og ind af branchen, og 20 til 30 % af de arbejdstagere, som bliver i branchen, skifter job fra år til år. Samlet set er det således typisk 30 til 40 % af de ansatte i branchen, som hvert år skifter job. Endelig er branchen notorisk følsom overfor konjunkturudsving. Fra lavkonjunkturen i starten af 1990'erne og frem til toppen af højkonjunkturen i 2007 er der sket en gradvis forøgelse af beskæftigelsen i branchen med cirka 45.000 personer. På dette tidspunkt var branchen rødglødende med stigende lønninger, masser af overarbejde og stor tilstrømning af arbejdskraft fra andre brancher og lande. Derefter skete der et dramatisk fald, hvor tæt ved det tilsvarende antal jobs forsvandt i løbet af ganske få år. I perioden 2007 til 2010 faldt branchens beskæftigelse således med 41.500 jobs eller 25 % i forhold til højdepunktet i 2007. På virksomhedssiden har man ligeledes oplevet et rekordhøjt antal konkurser. Nu er konjunkturerne så igen ved at vende, og det har sat gang i debatten om arbejdskraftmangel. Bygge- og anlægsbranchen er tit blevet brugt som konjunkturstabilisator. Offentlige investeringer i bygge- og anlægsprojekter bruges ofte til at få gang i økonomien i krisetider. Det har vi senest set i forbindelse med finanskrisen, hvor håndværkerfradrag og fremrykning af offentlige investeringer i forhold til store anlægsprojekter blev brugt til at dæmpe de negative effekter af krisen. Men den europæiske integration udfordrer denne klassiske brug af branchen som konjunkturstabilisator. Under højkonjunkturen i 00'erne kom et stigende antal udenlandske virksomheder-specielt fra de nye EU-medlemslande-ind i branchen. Det rejser spørgsmålet om, hvorvidt de øgede investeringer vil føre til, at flere danske arbejdstagere kommer i arbejde og derved kan stimulere hele den danske økonomi, el-
