Web services have become quintessential in web application development. RESTful web services are one way of providing interoperability between computer systems on the internet. REST-compliant web services allow requesting systems to access and manipulate textual representations of web resources using a uniform and predefined set of stateless operations. These services, which are online APIs, can be accessed from various applications and the results can be used to offer specific functionality to users. This project consists of an Android app, a Server application and a Client application. The Server application exposes a REST API (Web Services developed using REpresentational State Transfer (REST) protocol) using, which the consuming client applications can make use of various functionalities as services across the network. The Android app would be installed in the smart phone present in each vehicle of the fleet, this app would send live location data to the database using the REST API. The manager uses the client application to track the vehicles in real time, the manager can also choose to track a particular vehicle. The API could also be used to integrate the services with other systems. This project serves to a wide variety of users, from small local businesses owning tens or hundreds of vehicle to parents who would like to track the location of their children in real time. This project aims to help the managers/owners better control and track the vehicles. Also, the exposed API could be used by other developers to customize or extend this application. This project is easy to install, use and hence friendly for users with even minimal computer skills.

Повний текст джерелаIn the field of software engineering, the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture was a great breakthrough that was introduced in the 1970s. It is an architectural pattern that is useful for structuring software applications. MVC divides an application into three components: 1) Model, 2) View, and 3) Controller. This separation provides great modularity, which results in ease of maintenance for systems employing this architecture. A software framework is a collection of modules and connectors that embody a given software architecture. In the spirit of software reuse, the Spring Framework has been integrated for implementing the MVC architecture.
In this document, a Web Application is presented that demonstrates the features and characteristics of the MVC architecture and Spring Framework. All the development technologies that are used in the Web-application will be discussed along with the Object-Oriented-Analysis and Design methodology.

Finding jobs that best suits the interests and skill set is quite a challenging task for the job seekers. The difficulties arise from not having proper knowledge on the organization’s objective, their work culture and current job openings. In addition, finding the right candidate with desired qualifications to fill their current job openings is an important task for the recruiters of any organization. Online Job Search Portals have certainly made job seeking convenient on both sides. Job Portal is the solution where recruiter as well as the job seeker meet aiming at fulfilling their individual requirement. They are the cheapest as well as the fastest source of communication reaching wide range of audience on just a single click irrespective of their geographical distance. The web application “Job Search Portal” provides an easy and convenient search application for the job seekers to find their desired jobs and for the recruiters to find the right candidate. Job seekers from any background can search for the current job openings. Job seekers can register with the application and update their details and skill set. They can search for available jobs and apply to their desired positions. Android, being open source has already made its mark in the mobile application development. To make things handy, the user functionalities are developed as an Android application. Employer can register with the application and posts their current openings. They can view the Job applicants and can screen them according to the best fit. Users can provide a review about an organization and share their interview experience, which can be viewed by the Employers.

Повний текст джерелаWebbtekniker, speciellt webbapplikationer, har blivit en viktig komponent för företags dagliga verksamhet. Genom att använda webbapplikationer blir det enkelt för människor att söka information, göra betalningar och kommunicera med andra på Internet. Men enligt en rapport från the Society of Digital Agencies upplever 77% av företagen att en dåligt webbupplevelse påverkar slutkunderna, vilket gör webbupplevelsen till den största påverkande faktorn som the Society of Digital Agencies har identifierat. Det existerande webbokningssystemet är en monolit, där samtliga komponenter är tätt integrerade i en modul. Denna integrerade arkitektur gör det svårt att underhålla och förändra systemet. I tillägg finns det sårbarheter i systemet, som till exempel att rabattkoder för en kurs kan användas även på andra kurser, som inte ska rabatteras. Uppsatsen presenterar en frikoppling av den integrerade strukturen för systemet. Den nya arkitekturen bygger på representational state transfer web services, spring, wordpress samt bootstrap ramverken. I tillägg förbättras även de sårbara algoritmerna i det existerande bokningssystemet. Slutligen inkluderas ickefunktionella krav på användarvänlighet. I den här avhandlingen visar resultatet att det är möjligt att avmontera monolitisk arkitektur genom att utnyttja RESTful webbtjänster.

Locating a parking spot during peak hours in most populated areas like shopping malls, universities, exhibitions or convention centers is difficult for the drivers. The difficulty rises from not knowing where the available spots may be at that required time. Smart parking is a solution to metropolitan cities to reduce congestion, cut vehicle emission totals and save persons' time by helping them in finding a spot to park. Smart Parking is a parking system, usually a new one that is equipped with special structured devices (things) to detect the available parking slots at any parking area. This is an application based on Internet of Things (IoT) that in Real-Time environment have sensors and devices embedded into parking spaces, transmitting data on the occupancy status; and the vehicle drivers can search for parking availability using their mobile phones or any infotainment system that is attached to the vehicle. Hence the driver would know where there is an available spot to park his vehicle in less time, reducing the energy consumption and air pollution. The Client or the sensor posts the parking slot occupancy status to a web service URL. The Java based web service is built using Spring and Hibernate to connect to the backend system. The web service (.war) file is deployed on Apache Tomcat Server and the backend used is MySQL database.

Повний текст джерелаThis PhD thesis aims at analysing the organisational procedures used when companies communicate via the web, and their influence on the building up of their digital identity. We focused on tourism in Hautes-Pyrénées, and more specifically on hot spring resorts (spa or recreational and wellness centres). These resorts have changed the economic and social aspects of life in these valleys, which are located in the mountain range of the Pyrenees. The evolution of the web usage in these companies has so much influenced their organisation that investment strategies have emerged, following the recommendations of web and communication agencies. This research work focused on official and non-official web investment strategies of some of these companies. This questioning on the strategies leads to the analysis of the broader network of stakeholders in which these companies are involved, with similar focuses and interests. Therefore, we studied the connections between all the data collected (speeches) from these companies and their institutional and competing environment, on and about the web. Our methodology included semiotic analysis, semi-structured interviews conducted with the web and communication agencies, the CEOs of hot spring resorts, and field observations in a professional context in the field of mountain tourism. Our results have led to the design of a methodology to analyse the presence and identity of companies on the web, taking into account the network of human and material stakeholders in which they are involved in our web 2.0 world

Повний текст джерелаCommunication is a foundation pillar for all businesses and companies where meetings is one of the primary ways to converse and take collective decisions. The problem which can arise in the procedure of booking a meeting is trying to find a suitable time for every desired participant which could be a tedious and time-consuming task if many participants are to be included in the meeting. This is an issue that has risen at an IT company named Easit which focuses on software solutions for other companies and authorities. The aim of the project is to investigate the employees opinion of this issue, the tools they use today for the process of booking a meeting and finally formulate and implement a building block in the form of a target function which will be used to prevent the problems that are stated in the investigation. The construction is to be performed in the form of a web application created with the programming language Java together with different frameworks and tools to simplify the process of achieving a dynamic application. The application establishes a connection to the Microsoft Outlook API which will then be used to extract data from different calendars based of partly modified data from an employee’s schedule. The target function will be applied to the data extracted dependent on the conditions stated by the user and based on that; a kind of grade will be applied to every possible meeting time found. The target function which is an optimized algorithm is compared to a greedy-algorithm to present the optimized functions potential for the problem specified. If future work is to be done on the project, the main focus should lie on formulating additional constraints and parameters which can widen the optimized algorithm flexibility and depth. The result for this project is a foundation for optimizing schedules depending on multiple calendars together with potential for future work.

New to K-State??? No worries!!! This app will be your first friend and help you with everything you may need. Every new incoming student to K-State has to do a set of mandatory activities before they start their classes. Many times they use a pamphlet or word of mouth by students or faculty around, on what to do and whom to visit. But, this information may not be reliable or could have been expired/updated, and students miss on certain crucial things which delays their work. The same follows with various events organized by the college to welcome new students. This app will be a solution for all these problems. It will provide students with all the details they need before they actually become familiar with the school and even after that. Each student gets to see the To-Do's which are a set of mandatory activities, he/she has to do before they enroll for the classes and also, he can know about various events happening around the university. Students can also suggest new events if they are not already updated in the events list. All these activities are monitored and controlled by the Admin.

Повний текст джерелаOur research was established as part of the Interdisciplinary Research Program on Languages, Objects, Territories and Hospitality (LOTH). It has tried to confirm that only social networks can not constitute a single support for managing local democracy and satisfying collective demands. The researcher proposed a rather mixed approach (CiRM) integrating all the essential components to modernize and fundamentally improve the client's functioning of the state (physical, human, virtual and technological). This approach was supported by a series of field surveys that will demonstrate the deficit suffered by the Moroccan state despite high (but untidy) technological investments in ICT. It is to these questions that this thesis provides answers and analytical tools in order to present a new way to establish governance: any elected government will be essentially evaluated on the rate of satisfaction of the expectations of citizens and To its action plan announced via a weighting logic and through publicly known "indicators" of performance (known by all) and identified in advance (To avoid falling into the trap of distortion of information between the Citizen and the State)
