Problem: The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in significant resource deficiencies, especially with regards to basic facilities required for the safety of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Resource deficiency can be attributed both to inadequate production and to misdirected distribution due to deficits in the global supply chain, particularly in a time-sensitive situation like this. Low-Middle Income Countries (LMICs) face the added burden of economic constraints and underdeveloped health-care infrastructure. Lack of a centralized approach, ineffective rapid communication (especially amongst private and public entities), stockpiling and inefficient resource allocation further exacerbate this underlying issue.Approach: Project Alloy has worked on building a platform for “Logistical Triage” to strengthen the coordination of resource networks in crisis situations. We aim to facilitate supply chain optimization by tackling inequitable resource distribution through a centralized management approach. Through our portal, healthcare organizations in need of personal protective equipment, ventilators, and other key resources would be connected to non-governmental organizations, government agencies and manufacturers to enable time-sensitive and need-based optimization of resource allocation and distribution. Outcomes: We hope to facilitate near-real time tracking of resource consumption, to guide the efforts of rapidly emerging “pop-up” suppliers and manufacturers. This would ultimately feed into three key outcomes: a) to ensure immediate continuity of supplies to HCPs in the frontline against COVID-19; b) to track and preempt the trajectory of resource deficiencies and demands in order to mitigate the impact of the rapidly rising incidence of COVID-19 cases; and c) to establish a centralized network for healthcare specific e-commerce infrastructure in low-middle income countries to facilitate future crisis management. Future Steps: We plan to expand iteratively, to include e-commerce technology to build our supplier dashboard and to develop a crisis specific e-commerce marketplace for healthcare resources.

Abstract Context.—Collection of blood from newborns is a standard clinical procedure used for genetic screening. Typically, blood from a heel prick is absorbed onto standard collection paper and dried before analysis of metabolites, proteins, hormones, and more recently DNA. Objective.—To evaluate strategies to purify DNA for use with automated workstations. Design.—Two factors were used to evaluate several DNA purification protocols: residual heme contamination and amplification yield. The protocol that produced DNA with the lowest heme content and the highest amplification yield was selected. In combination with those two performance factors, the protocol with the fewest number of steps was chosen to reduce reagent use and processing time. Setting.—Industrial research and development laboratory. Results.—Robust amplification of DNA isolated from dried blood spots was demonstrated using both fluorescence and agarose gel–based detection methods. In addition, the samples had consistent DNA volumes and had no detectable cross-contamination. Suggested instrument settings, equipment, and supplies were included for automated processing of DNA from dried blood spots. Conclusion.—A 4-step DNA processing protocol was developed for dried blood spots. The protocol could be performed in either a manual or automated format, making it possible to process hundreds of samples in 1 day.

This paper presents a live field experience of creating an isolated microgrid for the Expoelectric fair during 2018 and 2019. The islanded microgrid comprises a Master Inverter with grid-forming capabilities and fault management. The Master Inverter and stationary batteries, and EVs with V2G capabilities provide storage. A PV generation system supplies the microgrid. The loads are the fair booths, mainly lighting and chargers for personal mobility vehicles. All the equipment used in the experimental microgrid is from different manufacturers. The operation and control of the islanded microgrid are based on the VDE-AR-N-4105 standard. The paper also presents the operation of the Master Inverter during faults. The live field experience shows that the proposed operation method is valid for operating different converters from different manufacturers without needing any communication layer between them. The experimental results also show that faults can be handled correctly by the Master Inverter to operate the entire microgrid safely. In conclusion, islanded microgrids based on power electronics are feasible to replace diesel generators in faires, conventions or temporary events.

Introduction:The literature on mass gatherings has expanded over the last decade. However, no readily accessible curriculum exists to prepare and support event medical leaders. Such a curriculum has the potential to align event medical professionals on improving event safety, standardizing emergency response, and reducing community impacts. Methods:We organized collaborative expert focus groups on the proposed “core curriculum” and “electives.”Results:Key features of a mass gathering medical curriculum include operations-focused, evidence-informed, best-known practices offered via low barrier, modular, flexible formats with interactive options, and a multi-national focus.Core content proposed: Background (Definitions, Context, Risk, Legalities)Event Medical Planning - “The Seven Steps” - (1.) Assessment and Environmental Scan - Event Emergency Action Plan, (2.) Human Resources, (3.) Equipment/Supplies, (4.) Infrastructure/Logistics, (5.) Transportation (To, On, From), (6.)Communication (Pre, During, Post), and (7.) Administration/Medical DirectionEvent After-Action ReportingCase-based ActivitiesElectives mirror Core outline and serve as expanded case-studies of specific event categories. Initially proposed electives include: Concerts/Music FestivalsRunning EventsCycling EventsMulti-Sport EventsObstacle Adventure CoursesStaged Wilderness CoursesAmateur GamesPolitical Gatherings & OrationsReligious Gatherings & PilgrimagesCommunity Gatherings (e.g., Parades, Fireworks, etc.)Discussion:Complex team learning to standardize real-world approaches has been accomplished in other medical domains (e.g., ACLS, AHLS, ATLS, PALS, etc.). A course for event medicine should not re-teach medical content (i.e. first aid, paramedicine, nursing, medicine); it should make available a commonly understood, systematic approach to planning, execution, and post-event evaluation vis a vis health services at events. A ‘train the trainer’ model will be required, with business operations support for sustainable course delivery. The author team seeks community feedback at WCDEM 2019 in creating ‘the ACLS’ of Event Medicine.

Objectives(1) To update experts’ priorities of perceived key injury risk factors in alpine ski racing based on a framework and list derived 10 years ago, (2) to identify additionally emerging risk factors since then and (3) to compile a list with countermeasure suggestions.MethodsA sample of 532 expert stakeholders (athletes, coaches, team medical staff, Ski Racing Suppliers (SRS) and International Ski Federation (FIS) representatives) from the World Cup (WC), European Cup (EC) and FIS-race level participated in a cross-sectional online survey. Experts were asked to name those risk factors with the highest believed impact on injury risk and rank them according to their current priority from a predefined list. In addition, experts were encouraged to name additional (not listed) risk factors and to suggest countermeasures.ResultsRegardless of stakeholder role and competition level, snow-related factors appeared to have the highest perceived priority. However, WC athletes’ and coaches’ perceptions were also related to equipment, while at the EC and FIS-race level fatigue and physical fitness-related factors were considered important. Athletes’ perceptions were largely in agreement with SRS (ie, snow-related and equipment-related factors). At the same time, while coaches, team medical staff and FIS representatives additionally emphasised fatigue and physical fitness-related factors.ConclusionExperts’ perceptions on key injury risk factors in alpine ski racing depend on the stakeholder role and differ between the competition levels. Thus, to develop effective prevention measures and to successfully implement them, all relevant stakeholders should be given a voice, and prevention efforts should be targeted to the specific level.

Objective To present the appropriate medical care standards for organizations that sponsor athletic activities for secondary school–aged athletes. Data Sources To develop the current standards and identify current best-practices evidence, the task force used a multistep process that included reviewing the existing 2004 Appropriate Medical Care for Secondary School–Aged Athletes consensus points and cross-referencing of National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) statements and official documents from the strategic alliance (the NATA, NATA Foundation, Board of Certification, and Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education). Gaps in the recommendations from the 2004 Appropriate Medical Care for Secondary School–Aged Athletes document were identified by the task force, and the new appropriate medical care standards were developed and refined. Conclusions and Recommendations Twelve standards, with supporting substandards, were developed that encompassed readiness to participate in activity; facilities; equipment; protective materials; environmental policies; nutrition, hydration, and dietary supplementation; wellness and long-term health; comprehensive emergency action plans; on-site immediate care; on-site therapeutic interventions; psychological concerns; and athletic health care administration. Collectively, these standards describe a comprehensive approach to providing appropriate health care to secondary school–aged athletes and should serve as a framework with which organizations can evaluate and improve the medical care supplied to adolescent athletes.

Sports games and sports equipment are used in a variety of fitness training devices, equipment and supplies. Sports equipment and sports are interdependent and mutually reinforcing. The popularity of sports and sports diversification makes sports equipment type, size and so on develop a lot. Similarly, sports equipment of good quality, stable performance, safe and reliable property can not only guarantee athletics competition in fair and intense circumstances, but also raise the level to facilitate movement and create the necessary material conditions.

AbstractIntroduction:Reports of medical care at mass gatherings reflect variability in mission and delivery models. Equipment recommendations are similarly varied. Thoughtful pre-planning and experience-based analysis are the best mechanisms for defining general and specific equipment recommendations. Objective:This report presents a suggested supply and equipment list developed over a six-year period of medical coverage at an air show, with an emphasis on the usage and cost of expendable supplies. Methods:The authors were involved in the planning for and execution of emergency medical care for a large, local, military air show on an annual basis, including provision of expendable medical supplies. A list of such supplies was developed over the initial two to three years, formalized and refined over the subsequent two years, and analyzed in the final, highest patient volume year of coverage. Detailed usage and cost was tracked over the final year for expendable supplies. Results:The results of this analysis indicate that comprehensive emergency medical care from first aid to mass casualty care can be offered at reasonable equipment and supply costs, if existing equipment resources can be supplemented by expendable supplies from a pre-determined list. Given the need for large quantities of supplies for a mass casualty contingency and the low likelihood of occurrence, a loan arrangement with a supplier, with return of unused supplies, is particularly convenient and economical. The approach used in this study should be appreciable in other similar settings. In concurrent scheduled events, the iterative process described can lead to greater specificity of needs for expendable supplies.

Introduction:The public ambulance system in Ukraine is the primary deliverer of prehospital care for trauma patients in this Eastern European country, but no national assessment has previously been made to ensure the presence of essential medical equipment on these ambulances.Aim:Working with the Ukraine Ministry of Health, our aim was to assess the availability of public ambulances of medical equipment essential for managing traumatic injury using an internationally recognized standard for prehospital care. Methods:We identified 53 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances from randomly selected cities for evaluation. We performed an inventory of available medical equipment and supplies on these ambulances against a matrix of essential equipment for prehospital providers developed by the World Health Organization (WHO).Results:Essential medical equipment in the categories of personal protection, patient monitoring, hemorrhage control, and immobilization were generally available in the ALS public ambulances surveyed. Deficiencies were noted in equipment and supplies for basic and advanced airway monitoring and management.Discussion:Public ALS ambulances across Ukraine are adequately equipped with many essential medical supplies to manage traumatic injury, but have deficiencies in both basic and advanced airway management. Correcting these deficiencies may improve prehospital survival of the traumatically injured patient. The results of this study will enable the Ukraine Ministry of Health to develop requirements of essential medical equipment for all public ALS ambulances in the country, to inform resource allocation decisions, and to guide public health policy regarding prehospital trauma care.

Globally, states are obliged to prioritize quality medical care at emergency departments (EDs). Kenya is not an exception since medical care services are mainly offered in the outpatient departments. However, the quality of care in these outpatient departments has not been evaluated. The aim of this study was to investigate quality of care at EDs of public hospital in Kenya, with a focus on Bungoma County. The study evaluated the availability of infrastructure, equipment, supplies and personnel. Besides, the researcher assessed processes, protocols, and outcomes of care at the Eds in Kenya’s public hospitals. A cross-sectional study design was employed, with a sample of 10 ED in-charges and 398 patients. The participants were proportionately recruited from the EDs via probability proportional to size (PPS). Quality of the EDS was measured using the Donabedian model with structure assessed by evaluating availability of infrastructure, equipment, supplies and personnel for emergency care. Process was evaluated by measuring turnaround timelines, assessment of presence and utilization of triage systems, protocols, and guidelines. Outcomes were measured using number of admissions, deaths, left without being seen, unplanned re-attendance, and patient service experience. Data collection was based on WHO observation checklists and with the help of questionnaires. The analysis consisted of descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed that infrastructure availability was 42.0% with all EDs lacking resuscitation rooms and high dependency units. Secondly, imaging rooms were in 40% of the hospitals, blood banks in 50%, and running water in 70%. Third, equipment availability was 34.7% with oxygen source, pulse oximeter, point of care ultrasound and trauma cart being available in 10%. Fourth, regular maintenance of equipment was in 52.5% of the EDs. Finally, availability of supplies for resuscitation was 52% with Supplies for airway management being the least (22%). From the study, it was apparent that trained personnel, equipment, supplies and processes such of triage systems. This has contributed to prolonged turnaround time and high re-attendance rates. There is need for provision of adequate infrastructure, equipment, personnel, and systems for emergency care in public hospitals EDs in Bungoma County to improve quality of care.

The main part of scientific research is the results of the experiment, because they make it possible to establish the existing dependencies of the course of processes on a real object, confirm theoretical calculations and a mathematical model of an electrothermal-mechanical system. The work is devoted to the issue of experimental research of power supplies for measuring and recording equipment. According to the purpose, a technique was proposed by which experimental studies of the presence of pulses, noise and fluctuations in the output voltage of pulse and transformer power supplies were carried out. The influence of the deviation of the output voltage on the fluctuations of the voltage readings on the measuring and recording equipment has been investigated. Based on the results of experimental studies of power supplies, the proposed technique can be taken as a basis for selecting power supplies in accordance with the requirements for the required accuracy of reading indicators from the measuring equipment in accordance with their accuracy class, within the total error permissible for this type of experiment. A power source for measuring and recording equipment was selected for experimental studies of an electrothermal-mechanical system to intensify the process of methane formation in a biogas reactor in order to determine as accurately as possible the energy costs for biogas production, due to the fact that the process of producing biogas is long, therefore, a large error in determining energy costs affects an increase in actual energy costs in production in relation to the calculated and experimental data. The practical value of the work lies in the fact that the use of power supplies with a lower ripple of the output voltage in experiments will reduce the processing time of the obtained data arrays, increase the efficiency of the experiment and the accuracy of the revealed dependencies. The methodology presented in the work also makes it possible to more efficiently use financial resources for the purchase of devices in the preparation and conduct of scientific and experimental research. The global war on terror has created the need for urgent long-range aeromedical transport of severely wounded service members over distances of several thousand miles from Afghanistan or Iraq to the United States. This need is met by specialized medical transport teams such as US Air Force Critical Care Air Transport Teams (CCATT) or by the US Army Burn Flight Team (BFT). Both teams travel with multiple bags or cases of emergency equipment, which are comprehensive but cumbersome. To avoid the need to search multiple bags for equipment or drugs when an in-flight emergency occurs, many CCATT and BFT physicians also carry a personal bag of emergency supplies for rapid access. Over the last year, we have evolved and standardized an emergency equipment bag designed to provide the supplies necessary for initial management of emergencies that occur during flight and ground transport. This or a similar emergency kit would be useful for inter or intrahospital transport of critically ill or injured civilian patients, or for physicians who respond to civil emergencies, such as members of Disaster Medical Assistance Teams.

AbstractIntroduction:Music festivals are popular events often including camping at the festival site. A mix of music, alcohol, drugs, and limited hygiene increases health risks. This study aimed to assess the use of medical supplies at a major music festival, thereby aiding planning at similar events in the future.Method:The Medical Health Care Organization (MHCO) at Roskilde Festival 2016 (Denmark) collected prospective data on disposable medical supply use and injuries and illnesses presenting to the MHCO.Results:A total of 12,830 patient presentations were registered by the MHCO and a total of 104 different types of disposable medical supplies were used by the MHCO from June 25, 2016 through July 3, 2016. Out of 12,830 cases, 594 individuals (4.6%) had a potential or manifest medical emergency, 6,670 (52.0%) presented with minor injuries, and 5,566 (43.4%) presented with minor illnesses. The overall patient presentation rate (PPR) was 99.0/1,000 attendees and the transport-to-hospital rate (TTHR) was 2.1/1,000 attendees. For medical emergencies, the most frequently used supplies were aluminum rescue blankets (n = 627), non-rebreather masks (n = 121), and suction catheters for an automatic suction unit (ASU) for airway management (n = 83). Most used diagnostic equipment were blood glucose test strips (n = 1,155), electrocardiogram electrodes (n = 960), and urinary test strips (n = 400). The most frequently used personal protection equipment were non-sterile gloves (n = 1,185 pairs) and sterile gloves (n = 189).Conclusion:This study demonstrates a substantial use of disposable medical supplies at a major music festival. The results provide aid for planning similar mass-gathering (MG) events.

Exercise products based on universal design, which reduce restrictions on the exercise environment and ensure convenience and safe use, are beneficial for people with a disability; however, the current universal design only considers the preferences of the general population, which is not suitable for the disabled population. This results in the exclusivity of the sports facilities and supplies for people with a disability. Consequently, we explored the components of universal design and product satisfaction by considering users with disabilities and proposed the direction for designing extended universal exercise equipment that is suitable for them. Specifically, this study focuses on developing exercise equipment for people with a disability. Based on the results from the evaluation of acceptance and satisfaction of universal sports products for people with a disability using design thinking, we suggest the following. First, it is necessary to consider safety devices for exercise products. Second, the user interface should be improved in terms of convenience. Third, the ergonomic instrument design should be improved. Finally, the instrument design should be centered on user convenience.

The efficiency of EMS, especially resuscitation of the severely wounded, depends upon speed and skills. This requires well-organized military-civilian collaboration, as shown during recent earthquakes in Ashkhabad and Tashkent. Reasons include the great mobility of military medical units, including field hospitals; communication facilities; specialized means of transportation; readiness of equipment and supplies; as well as skillled military medical personnel.

Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted many aspect of life and it has sought to multifaceted crisis in a global scale. With the continued of health crisis caused by this communicable disease, medical device and personal protection equipment become precious commodity for the general public and healthcare professionals. Therefore, there is a growing demand of Personal Protection Equipment especially face mask and N95 respirators in all over countries. Unfortunately, the decade of expansive trade had been distorted by pandemic of Covid-19 that made the medical supplies cannot meet the global demand. Prior to the outbreak of covid-19, there was an interdependency of medical supplies trade through Global Value Chain. GVC had made the production of medical supplies are effectively fragmented and globally integrated. This article tries to examine the architecture of global medical supply through the lens of Global Value Chain (GVC) before and after pandemic. Using a qualitative methodology this article tries to provide analytical descriptive on global medical devices fragmentation. We use the full UN Comtrade data from 1990 to 2018, Foreign Direct Investment Data from OECD and mass media news to track the shifting of medical devices production during pandemic. The main results indicate that the worsening situation of Pandemic Covid-19 has brought state actors and non-state actors to create new pattern in GVC to provide medical devices worldwide. Finally, this article aims to cast a light on the importance of global cooperation and trade interdependency during crisis.

BACKGROUND: Universal precautions for all healthcare workers have been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and were mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in 1991. OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to examine compliance with universal precautions by direct observation and by self-reporting questionnaire in a random sample of critical care nurses, a group with a high daily index of exposure to blood and body fluids. Additionally, knowledge, attitudes, and supply and equipment variables that might affect the rate of compliance were examined. METHODS: Data were collected on a random sample of 25 nurses in two critical care units in a military medical center. The same sample of nurses was then asked to complete an 85-item questionnaire that produced a score for knowledge of universal precautions, attitudes toward universal precautions, and the nurses' opinions of the supplies and equipment. RESULTS: The overall observed compliance score for all nurses was 67%, with a range of 25% to 100%. The observed compliance rates showed no statistically significant correlations with knowledge of universal precautions, attitudes toward universal precautions, or the quality, fit, availability, or accessibility of supplies and equipment. Power analyses showed that the sample size was too small to reveal significant findings. CONCLUSIONS: A larger sample size might show that these factors are indeed associated with use of universal precautions.

The aim of the article is a theoretical and methodological justification for strengthening the role of international trade in medicines and equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic, to establish the benefits of free trade, to develop important international trade policy priorities in this field. Materials and methods: Legislation of foreign countries and international organizations, statistical data published by international organizations are the materials of the research. Methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization were applied during the research. Conclusions: It has been proved that the legal regulation of world trade activity by medical supplies are increasingly playing more important roles in the implementation of international development goals. The authors have offered three priorities to all countries: to cooperate globally around the deployment of life-saving medical supplies, publicly commit all countries not to implement export bans or limits on relevant medical supplies; to control all trade measures countries have taken in response to the COVID-19 outbreak; to bring together in a global form measures and procedures to eliminate this phenomenon.

At the moment, one of the main problems of metrological support is related to the restriction (termination) of supplies of imported equipment and materials for repair and operation. In turn, metrological support is one of the important steps in improving the quality of standards and measuring equipment, auxiliary devices of competitive and high-quality products. Most enterprises and large-scale industries invest heavily in providing, mastering and maintaining the necessary level of product quality. An active functional tool for creating effective technological processes at the enterprise is metrological support and is aimed at creating and improving production tasks that give a reliable assessment and control of product quality. The article discusses the problem and the possibilities of a solution, determining factors that can significantly improve the data for the development of domestic equipment and components. The purpose of the work is to study measuring instruments of domestic production and import substitution of equipment at the enterprise by Russian analogues.

The presented article considers the current economic situation, taking into account the restrictions of imported supplies of products, equipment and technologies. The need to develop domestic engineering in the field of high-tech equipment production, to create a powerful innovation and technological potential on the basis of enterprises producing modern machines and developing advanced technologies is justified. The trend in the development of mechanical engineering in one of the industrialized regions the Samara region was analyzed. It was revealed that the main supplier of machinery and equipment to the domestic market today is a domestic manufacturer, the production capacity of which in some sub-industries operates at the limit. In this regard, a significant increase in investments in the renewal of fixed assets is necessary. The increase in the production of innovative high-tech equipment is associated with significant investments and serious time costs, even if financing is carried out from the federal budget. The reason for the weak investment activity of enterprises is the low profitability of production and an unstable external environment. The priority should be the development and development of innovative equipment that meets the modern requirements of the innovative and technological development of industry.

The subject of the study is the parameters and key features of the structure and volume of imports of the Russian Federation. The authors consider in detail the key aspects and trends of the import of foreign products of final and intermediate consumption in the Russian Federation, highlight the risks and threats to the sustainable development of the Russian economy in the context of ongoing systemic transformations caused by the sanctions confrontation that escalated in 2022. The logic and tools of the implemented empirical assessments are based on a theoretical and methodological analysis of determining the strategic guidelines for the formation of foreign trade and the tools produced to assess its effectiveness, and also relies on the approach proposed by the authors to determine the priorities of import substitution policy, taking into account the "severity" of the problem and prospects for economic development. The main conclusion of the study is the need to intensify import substitution processes in the most vulnerable areas of supplies of goods and components to the Russian Federation (machinery, equipment and equipment, chemical industry products, metals and products made of them, plastics, rubber and rubber) from the so-called unfriendly countries (Western European states, USA and Japan, etc.) Given that they account for about 28.5% of imports to Russia, restrictions on further supplies of goods from these countries pose serious risks to the sustainable socio-economic development of the Russian Federation in the short term. The novelty and theoretical significance of the study lies in the proposed concept of choosing an import substitution policy depending on the degree of vulnerability of individual industries to localization of import supplies, as well as depending on the scale of the risks of sustainable development of the national economy.

Objective. This study is aimed at describing a score to assess infection control structures in Oral Health Teams (OHT) in Primary Health Care (PHC) in Brazil. Methods. Secondary data from a national external evaluation of PHC conducted in 2017 and 2018 were analyzed. The construction of the score used 14 variables, divided into the following: structural characteristics of the PHC, infection control equipment under conditions of use, and biosafety supplies in sufficient quantity. The questions were mostly dichotomous (yes/no). Descriptive analyses were carried out to characterize the OHT and factor analyses to reduce the number of observed variables to a specific number of factors. Results. Among 20,301 health units with OHT, 4,510 (22.2%) units did not have washable floors, ceilings, and walls; 8,406 (41.4%) did not have a sealer; 16,780 (82.7%) did not have taps with noncontact activation, and 4,663 (23.0%) units did not have rubber gloves. Regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), 1,618 (8.0%) units did not have a sufficient quantity of basic PPE. Three factors were defined to explain the 14 evaluated variables. The South region had the best score of infection control, while the North had the worst. Conclusions. Regional inequalities in the failures in infection control structures identified in PHC with OHT were related to the physical structure, equipment, and supplies used for infection control and the absence of PPE for OHT.

The author analyzes the dynamics and structure of foreign trade of Russia and its Far East with member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The Association isn’t a key economic partner of the Russian Federation or Far East, on average, for the period from 2012 to 2021, ASEAN share in the total turnover of the Far East did not exceed 2%, in Russia’s – 3%. The study also showed that both Russian and Far Eastern exports mostly consisted of fuel and ferrous metals. A more diversified exports structure was characteristic at the beginning and middle of the study period for Vietnam and Indonesia. Supplies of high-tech products (airplanes, helicopters, ships, weapons and ammunition, optical devices, etc.) were provided mainly through state military contracts. At the same time, Russian import was more technologically complex than the Far Eastern one, with prevailing of electrical machinery and equipment. In general, imports from ASEAN were dominated by household and office equipment, appliances, cell phones, food products, rubber, ships. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, in 2021 Russia has begun to export vaccines («Sputnik V» and «Sputnik Light»), but this phenomenon is temporary and cannot radically change the commodity structure of supplies. In order to «refine» both Russian and Far Eastern exports, it is necessary to take into account ASEAN states programs for «green» technologies; however, this is a long-term goal

Preparing for disasters both natural and anthropogenic requires assessment of risk through hazard vulnerability analysis and formulation of facility and critical care–specific disaster plans. Disaster surge conditions often require movement from conventional to contingency or crisis-level operations to meet the needs of the many under our care. Predisaster planning for modification of critical care space, staffing, and supplies is essential to successful execution of operations during a surge. Expansion of intensive care unit beds to nonconventional units such as perioperative areas, general care units, and even external temporary units may be necessary. Creative, tiered staffing models as well as just-in-time education of noncritical care clinicians and support staff are important to multiply capable personnel under surge conditions. Finally, anticipation of demand for key equipment and supplies is essential to maintain stockpiles, establish supply chains, and sustain operations under prolonged disaster scenarios.

Sport represents a domain where various functions and effects can be manifested. The sports industry today is characterized by modern technology, especially in the sphere of manufacturing sports props and equipment, which significantly helps its development and progress. The sports industry today exists within the social-economic achievements and power of a society. In essence, it should adapt to the new living conditions, work conditions and the conditions in which business is being conducted. Today, it is necessary to invest more in the offer of the sports industry (athletes, results, equipment, equipment, facilities, diagnostics ...), in order to be more efficient in the form of the final product on the market. The industry must adapt to the conditions of the world market (supply and demand). That is why it is sometimes necessary to also expand the range of constituents in order to win a medal – achieve a top sports result. This article will analyze the phenomenon of the modern sports industry as a business model, its production and the realization of the necessary conditions for achieving top sports results and winning medals at big competitions. Naturally, without unity between numerous external and internal factors no top sports results can be achieved. The authors also deal with an analysis of the factors of the sports industry.

Ambulatory care centers have emerged as a new health care resource in many communities. Little information is available about the services that these centers offer to pediatric patients. A national survey of 254 ambulatory care centers was undertaken to determine their characteristics, including the number of pediatric patients seen, staffing patterns, and pediatric equipment and supplies available. Most clinics were located in urban areas and were within 5 miles of a hospital. They were staffed primarily by physicians who were board certified in emergency medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine. Not all centers had registered nurses on duty and few used extended-role nurses or physicians's assistants. The centers saw an average of 18 patients younger than 18 years of age per day. Some ambulatory care centers received emergency medical service and private ambulance calls and encountered serious illness such as chest pain, seizures, and anaphylaxis; the majority, however, handled mainly minor injuries and illnesses. Although most had pediatric equipment and supplies, some did not have a complete set of pediatric resuscitation equipment even though they were part of the emergency system offering care to the pediatric population.

Material handling injuries reported to the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) result in nearly 70,000 days of work lost each year. Several mitigation efforts for these injuries focus on the back, but shoulder injuries account for four times the days lost. Nonfatal incidents reported to MSHA from 2013 through 2017 were limited to shoulder sprains and strains and were analyzed to determine what contributed the most to these injuries. Injuries were coded based on the task performed, motions involved, and the tools used. The analysis indicated that auto maintenance and tasks involving loading/unloading supplies led to the highest number of injuries. Many of these injuries were related to operating equipment or the use of specific tools. The injuries often involved lifting/lowering or pulling/pushing movements. These findings suggest future mitigation strategies for the risk of shoulder sprains and strains should focus on auto maintenance and tasks involving loading/unloading supplies.

The article presents the developed simulation model of an oil refinery. The feature of model is the use of agent-based and discrete-event modelling methods. Another feature is applying heuristic optimization technique to find the best values of key production and resource characteristics of oil refinery equipment interacting within the framework of a complex production scheme to build a refinery plant that provides a deep refining level. At the same time, the objective function of the system is the profit of refinery plant, which takes into account both the sale revenue of petroleum products and operating expenditure. The proposed model is implemented in the AnyLogic system and allows, in particular, maximising the profit of refinery plant at various restrictions, including the volumes of petroleum products supplies required to perform contractual obligations at specified times.
