Повний текст джерелаOn the fringes of the digital revolution, unknown to the general public, volunteers have been administering and providing non-profit Internet services for thirty years. These associations, some of them very old, are trying to keep alive the organisational utopia that dates back to the beginnings of the network and the values associated with it. But what is it that still drives volunteers to defend this lost cause? What function does their commitment fulfil? And how does it fit into the evolution of the internet over the last thirty years? This thesis offers a sociological analysis of the “utopian practice” and the conditions of its persistence, based on a comparative survey between France and Germany combining ethnography and archival work. Using the perspective of configuration analysis borrowed from Norbert Elias, we will explain how the conservative and adaptive capacity of this associative movement responds to the relative frustrations of those disappointed by the digital revolution, by crossing structural, organisational and individual levels of analysis. The thesis begins by tracing the sociogenesis of the associative Internet in the 1990s, between pioneering practices, economic marginalisation and discreet insertion into local public connection policies. It was in the 2000s that associative activity became ‘utopian’, through the actions of ‘utopian entrepreneurs’, on the fringes of the then emerging activism in defence of digital rights and freedoms. Secondly, the thesis shows, from an organisational point of view, how Internet associations were shaped from the inside by successive waves of volunteers who, according to their own socialisation on the Internet, invested in a sense of the cause and a corresponding organisational model. Finally, on an individual level, thanks to a utopian division of labour that enabled people to practise their profession in a different way, we will explain how involvement in these associations was rewarded for pioneers and later volunteers alike. As a link between the alternative socialisations that make up the relationship to learning, the desire for autonomy, freedom and security, the associations create the conditions for an individual utopia for those who manage to join them, compensating for the power relationships they experience at work. So, while organising the preservation of pre-market practices of collaboration between peers, the associative internet offers its followers avenues of transformation, particularly regarding the individual and collective relationship to activity. The comparison enables us to grasp the contours of a European Internet utopia and what the diversity of utopian practices owes to national power structures, particularly regarding regulation of the telecommunications market. Beyond a normative perspective that sees utopia in society as a factor for unambiguous change, or as a system of ideas opposing conservative fictions and geared towards a better society, this thesis aims to contribute to a sociological understanding of utopian phenomena based on an analysis of their logical practices

Повний текст джерелаStefan Heym's name has been associated with political controversy since his early youth. As a young Jew, he had to flee his hometown to Czechoslovakia and finally to the United States to escape the Nazi régime. As an officer in the U. S. Army, he took part in the Normandy D-Day operations. Mac Carthy's arrival in office urged him to leave the US for the GDR, where he played his role as an intellectujal woleheartedly, always true to his convictions. By choosing to embrace politics in 1994 for the PDS party, Heym became first and foremost the archetype of a certain voice unusual in the German intellectual tradition. Indeed Stefan Heym always moved along boundaries between politics and ethics, trying to combine them both rather tan to oppose them. Becoming a member of parliament elected by citizens in a democratic election was to offer him a privileged rostrum to deliver his civic message. This example makes it possible to ponder over the twofold logic wich underlies the public sphere : intellectual logic and the political one, both being constructed on their own rules. Paradoxically, résigning from politics was equally problematic. The interest of the " Heym case " lies also in the way a man's past is brought into the heart of a complex instrumentalization process. His life is rich enough to provide a wide range of images - be they exemplary or repulsive -, but here strategic uses are such-between promotion and stigmatisation - that they lead us to ask the question of the real stakes of such a sophisticated staging. Through Stefan Heym's figure, we can wonder if reunified Germany doesn't indulge in a far-reaching bout of mass soul-searching
Breton, Catherine. "Socialisation des descendants de parents résistants déportés de France dans les camps de concentration pendant la seconde guerre mondiale." Paris 10, 1994. http://www.theses.fr/1994PA100037.
Повний текст джерелаGeneral objective: to study the influence of concentration camp hardships on family socialization and on the personalization of the descendants born after the end of the war. 4 themes are presented as follows: 1) biographical dynamics of the prisoner; 2) existence of a family sub-culture; 3) values passed on to the descendants; 4) characteristics of the descendants ‘self-image. Methodology: qualitative study of 15 families with the support of semi-directed interviews and questionnaires. Quantitative study of 60 (other) descendants with the support of questionnaires. This work shows that the passing on has not simply been produced by the direct relations between the parent and the descendant but depends especially on the level of integration of the parent into the prisoners community. The descendants have built up their social identities by being confronted with a cultural heritage, which might be passed on more or less deliberately. One notices the same phenomenon of social repetition and political passing on, but I have emphasized that the descendants who have had to interact permanently and differently with 3 experiential levels; -the calling-up of facts, memories, values associated with imprisonment; -the everyday way of life specific to the families; -the social context of the prisoners community with its emblems, its symbols, its rituals, have become aware

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis aims to understand how, from individuals linked through bureaucratic en-rolment at a higher learning institution, students were able to become in France and in Germany, a social group, whose members are bound together by organizations seeking to defend their specific interests and needs. The end of the 1870s and the beginning of the 1880s mark a decisive change in both countries, as public authorities – from the universities as well as from the political powers – increasingly authorize and accept the existence of student organizations. This change is traced over the long term, through the study of political repression of the student movements and of the transformation of the relation between students and the nation-state (in construction) since the beginning of the 19th century. These student organizations are socialization bodies. For their members, it is as much a matter of acquiring practical political competences as it is of completing their university curricula thanks to conferences or working groups or of strengthening their masculine bodies through physical activities. A competitive struggle begins between student organizations around a number of issues between the 1870s and until First World War, the period that is more specifically analysed in this thesis: student representation; relationship with public au-thorities; integration into the university urban space; integration into the local and national elite society; obtaining material and intellectual benefits for the members; developing common sociability forms. Through this competition students contribute to the formation of a social space of their own, and that we have named student organization space. Through the analysis of this social space and through a constant interest in the relationship of students to politics and the nation-state, it is possible to understand how the place and the role of students in university and society was transformed at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century and, therefore, how they could form a social group
Oeser, Alexandra. "La transmission scolaire du passé nazi en Allemagne : étude comparative de quatre écoles à Hambourg et Leipzig." Paris, EHESS, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007EHES0130.
Повний текст джерелаThe pedagogical transmission of the nazi past in Germany is analysed in four schools in Hamburg and Leipzig. Formes of reappropriation and uses of the past by two generations of teachers - the "1968 generation" and the "GDR generation - and by their students are analysed. The thesis is based on 137 interviews and more than two years of classroom observation of history lessons. Significations and functions of the nazi past vary according to spaces, moments and men (classrooms, schoolyard, peer groups, home). But social frameworks also influence and/or direct uses of the past : the socialisation of teachers and students, generational belonging, gender and group dynamics, social class, political engagement, east-west oppositions. This research analyses situations and dispositions in order to try and understand multiple uses of the past. The research within schools and that within families allows to think the twofold influence of these social institutions on the adolescents

It focuses on how these theses practices are determined and describes play practices of children of this age. Play is not a free choice but rather it is conditioned by a larger social system, drawn by adults and organized socially. The decision to play is not a free decision for children. It is shaped by a combination of material, social, and symbolic factors that direct, organize, and limit their choices. Time, space and parental educational priorities act as major constraints in this process. The research draws light on the issue of children’s dependency, by analyzing what "the adults do to children" and how children "react to the situations in where they are placed”. By focusing on children’s game practices, this research indicates that play is not only a part of identity construction and socialization; it nevertheless also allows a symbolic way to escape the constraints of daily life and adults’ control. Looking at play and the broader field of recreational activities provides insights on the change that occurs between 8 and 14, change that modifies children’s recreational practices and initiates a shift towards new areas of activities, more oriented towards peers
