Анотація:

La déconstruction d'une conception biocentriste des sexes en sociologie et la mise en évidence, par les travaux féministes des années 1970, de l'existence d'un système des sexes a ouvert la voie à l'élaboration d'une théorie des rapports sociaux entre les sexes. Cette théorie critique et redéfinit certains concepts clés (travail, production, mobilité), déplace les frontières disciplinaires (sociologie du travail, sociologie de la famille), en même temps qu'elle élargit les débats sur des thèmes sociologiques fondamentaux : relations entre rapport social et catégorisation sociale, reproduction sociale et changement, structures et acteurs et actrices, pratiques sociales et représentations. Aujourd'hui, ce travail de théorisation se poursuit à travers l'élaboration d'outils d'analyse sociologique (de concepts opératoires) susceptibles de rendre compte de la dynamique qui est le propre d'un rapport social, le rapport social entre les sexes en particulier.

Анотація:

Toxic Behaviors are what people do that irritate, annoy, or cause unpleasant feeling to others. These behaviors may cause other people to be depressed, angry, furious, sad, and anxious. In Rapport Management (Spencer-Oatey, 2000), these toxic behaviors are known as rapport threat behaviors since this kind of behaviors can threaten other people interpersonal rapport which is essential for harmonizing relationships between people. The main purpose of this study was to analyze these threatening behaviors to rapport in social media interactions. Social media interactions are the interactions found in social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, MySpace, and other platforms. The sample for this study was the interactions in two social media platforms which are Facebook and Instagram. The study found that there are several rapport threat behaviors in the two social media platforms interactions. The rapport threat behaviors are accusations, insults, trash talks, the inappropriate use of emoji, the use of all capitalized letters and misunderstanding context and the captions of certain posts.

Theorists have long noted the nebulousness of dyadic rapport and its nonverbal correlates. In response to Tickle-Degnen’s call for a more theoretically complete analysis of the rapport construct, we empirically evaluated her adaptation of Csíkszentmihályi’s optimal experience model with the hope of better conceptualizing rapport’s behavioral manifestations. Dyads ( Ndyad = 50) engaged in two interdependent tasks and completed a battery of post-task measures gauging their mood and experiences of rapport. To complement self-report measures, we coded rapport-based behavior using both subjective (thin-slice judgments) and objective (Motion Energy Analysis) methodologies. According to Tickle-Degnen’s model, dyadic exchanges with moderate levels of expressivity and interpersonal coordination should yield the highest levels of rapport. Although data from our objective coding did not trend in this manner, subjective measurements of coordinated expressivity matched the paradigm’s prediction. To our knowledge, this is the first study to empirically support Tickle-Degnen’s hypothesis and a novel step toward clarifying the rapport construct.

L’article porte sur le discours des jeunes sur la question du rapport à l’identité et du sens d’appartenance au groupe, dans le contexte des minorités de langue officielle au Canada. En constante évolution, le rapport à l’identité se voit influencé par les pratiques sociales des individus, pratiques qui elles-mêmes s’inscrivent dans des rapports de pouvoir particuliers. Dans le contexte des minorités de langue officielle au Canada, comment s’articule ce rapport à l’identité chez les jeunes ? Comment le contexte historique et social vient-il influencer la façon dont ils perçoivent leur rapport à la langue et à la culture minoritaires ? Les résultats qui servent à la présente analyse sont tirés de deux études ethnographiques d’une durée de trois ans chacune portant sur le rapport à l’identité chez les jeunes fréquentant les écoles de langue anglaise au Québec et les écoles de langue française en Ontario.

Résumé Cet article analyse le rapport entre la mémoire sociale des femmes et l'histoire féministe qui a vu le jour au cours des trente dernières années. L'hypothèse défendue ici est que mémoire et histoire s'alimentent réciproquement et qu'elles sont toutes deux le fruit d'un construit social. Toutes deux opèrent un tri dans le passé et l'ordonnent selon une perspective particulière. Toutes deux s'inscrivent dans des rapports de pouvoir, rapports qu'elles reflètent en partie, mais qu'elles contribuent également à interroger et à remettre en cause. C'est ainsi que la mémoire des femmes et l'histoire féministe se sont avérées des éléments importants de conscientisation et de changement social.

Ces enjeux - la prolifération des interventions, la fonction sociale: et idéologique des intervenants, l'engagement social, la professionnalisation, le rapport marchand, les alternatives et les classes sociales - appliqués à un ouvrage critique sur l'intervention en santé mentale - Psychothérapies, attention*. permeltent de dégager de cet ouvrage un modèle social de la santé/maladie mentales dans lequel une étiologie à prédominance sociale de la santé/maladie mentales requiert nécessairement une intervention s'adressant à la fois à l'individu et à son environnement. L'auteur questionne l'applicabilité d'un tel modèle en proposant trois hypothèses de travail portant sur la responsabilité individuelle versus responsabilité sociale quant aux problèmes de santé mentale, sur les rapports théorie/ pratique en santé mentale et sur une distinction entre causes immédiates et médiates en santé/maladie mentales.

RésuméCet article offre d'abord une synthèse des résultats de recherches menées à l'initiative du Conseil de l'Europe dans la première phase du projet Dignité Humaine et Exclusion Sociale (DHES), puis une analyse des implications pour la politique sociale des quatre thèmes identifiés dans les conclusions du rapport. Ces quatre thèmes sont: (1) l'évolution du risque, (2) le rôle changeant de l'Etat par rapport au risque, (3) la convergence des approches de politique sociale en Europe et (4) le défi auquel les ONG qui défendent les moins privilégiés dans la société de risque sont confrontées. Ainsi, l'article utilise le cadre théorique du risque, de l'exclusion et les droits sociaux afin d'étudier les conséquences des orientations de politiques sociales sur la vie des plus démunis et pour discuter de stratégies de lutte contre la pauvreté et l'exclusion dans cet environnement en mutation, identifié par le rapport DHES.

Trois aspects du matériau empirique collecté sont présentés pour saisir les enjeux de ce rapport social : l’organisation des migrations féminines sur le marché des emplois à domicile dans la continuité de l’histoire des bonnes; la spécificité du travail de service dans la hiérarchie sociale (re)produite au quotidien entre femmes; et les tensions et les subjectivités politiques qui émergent des pratiques sociales d’employées à domicile migrantes.

Анотація:

The present article is a critical account of the official report from the Commission of Inquiry on Health and Social Services in Quebec (la Commission Rochon). This report is first examined in light of the socio-political context of Quebec society in the '80s with a particular emphasis on factors which directly influenced the development of the Commission's work. The author then presents the main elements of the report. He stresses the quality and appropriateness of studies bearing on Quebec social evolution during the last 20 years and on the identification of health and social problems in the present time. He reminds us of the radical diagnosis made on the organization of health services. The principal options for more adequate health system orientations are then studied in the context of debates following the report publication, two years ago, particularly concerning issues of regional decentralization and financing. The author finally stresses the new challenges of today in social health management, while showing the profound continuity existing between the Commission's works and those of the Castonguay Commission, at the beginning of the '70s.

This article presents the results of a qualitative study that explored Māori social workers’ perspectives of working to establish rapport with rangatahi Māori in community mental health services. The research was conducted using a social constructionist perspective, informed and guided by Māori-centred research principles. Six Māori social workers from different parts of the country volunteered to participate in semi-structured interviews. These face-to-face interviews were designed after reviewing current literature and were guided by a practice framework that enabled the voices of the Māori social workers to be heard, eliciting in detail where their views have come from. The findings from the research showed that Māori social workers view rapport as essential in their practice and therefore they practise in a way that facilitates this. They utilise values and beliefs in their practice, integrated with a Māori worldview, that contribute towards rapport building with youth and also with their whänau. Reflective practice is used constantly in order to maintain ethical practice. The practice implications are also discussed; that an understanding of how Māori social workers view and practise rapport can be beneficial, that there is a need for whānau involvement and that this can enhance rapport with rangatahi, that an inherent valuing of rangatahi is key and finally that reflective practice is essential for Māori social work professional and personal development.

Le rapport entre l’insécurité et l’autochtone est esquissé dans cet article par le biais d’une interrogation sur la construction de l’objet de peur. L’auteure renonce à approcher cette construction par le seul détour d’une peur du crime et suggère que l’autochtone a d’abord fait l’objet d’une multiplicité de constructions sociales avant d’émerger de façon souterraine puis collective en objet de peur. Cet essai d’articulation débouche sur l’idée que la construction sociale de l’autochtone en objet de peur est récente et qu’elle doit être appréhendée comme le signe d’un rétrécissement des rapports entre l’État et les Premières Nations, resserrement qui fait naître de nouveaux rapports conflictuels entre une marge devenue ou perçue comme une menace et les fondements de l’ordre économique, politique et social que l’État s’évertue à perpétuer.

According to Hofstede’s (2003) often quoted survey, Japanese and Thai cultures rank high on the collectivist scale and both cultures attach the greatest importance to group harmony. Accordingly, we should see similar characteristics in Japanese and Thai speakers during discussions within their respective social groups. However, this is not the case. This paper examines social talk during the task-oriented interaction of Japanese and Thai speakers. The analysis focuses on how the speakers of Japanese and Thai present themselves and construct rapport in casual group talk. Using the concept of consciousness deployed in ‘idea units’ (Chafe 1980, 1994) and some semantic considerations, I identify three major differences in rapport construction between Japanese and Thai speakers. First, Japanese participants prefer to build common ground through discussion of communal topics and through dealing with the comprehensiveness and the orderliness of the situation, whereas Thai participants incline toward Individual-oriented topics and independent styles of talk. Second, the Japanese show a preference for using softening devices and conventionalized expressions in group discussion while the Thais tend to use intensifiers and spontaneous expressions to indicate involvement and create a friendly and fun atmosphere. Third, the Japanese like to demonstrate the minimization of self and the relevancy between the self and the collective whereas the Thais value the capitalization of the self and the strengthening of personal relationships. Japanese and Thai communicative styles can be viewed as reflection of the different way the two cultures conceptualize the notion of rapport and the self. With regard to the component of rapport management (Spencer-Oatey 2000), the Japanese place more emphasis on the observation of sociality rights, while the Thais incline toward the management of face. This suggests that rapport construction in collectivist cultures may possess totally different characters.

Анотація:

The urgency of a study of rapport problem between a penitentiary psychologist and a juvenile convict is due to the fact that interpersonal contact has a significant impact on the success of the professional activity of a penitentiary psychologist, and helps to build trusting relationships with an adolescent. The study involved 50 psychologists in educational colonies of Russia. A specially designed questionnaire “Problem-psychological content of interpersonal contacts of a psychologist with a minor convict” was used. The study confirmed that the ability to build rapport with a minor convict depends primarily on the developed communicative and moral qualities of a psychologist. The specialists use a wide range of methods and techniques for building rapport, however, they have fragmented notion on the stages of establishing interpersonal contact, their specificity and sequence.

ABSTRACT This paper aims to find out the strategies, applied by students in classroom interaction particularly in discussion, to maintain their interpersonal rapport as well as to enhance their rapport management with their fellow students. There are five strategies based on Spencer-Oatey (2008) that the interactants apply in social interactions. The strategies are request, compliments, apologies, gratitude and disagreement. The research is done to see whether the students realize the management of rapport in social interaction and their strategies that they would apply in classroom discussion. The research is done by using descriptive qualitative method to identify the students’ strategies in maintaining their interpersonal rapport and enhancing the rapport management with their fellow students. The data was obtained by video-recording the interactions of the students during the classroom discussions and by giving the students some questionnaires. The researcher also applied the participant observation to see the students reactions during the discussion considering that the strategies that the students apply may bring about the rapport threat and enhancement which are subjective evaluations, which depend not simply on the content of the message, but on people’s interpretations and reactions to who says what under what circumstances. The research indicates that the students’ mostly applied strategy is disagremeent and the type of the disagreement is token agreement. In other words, the students tend to hold the rapport enhancement behavior since in expressing their disagreement, they initially expressed their agreement as a token of appreciation.
